Oh, it's got to be 2x09: Saving Grace! I didn't even need to look up the season or the episode because that it my episode.

One of my favorite songs is Bless the Telephone by Labi Siffre and it's just the perfect example as to why I think the phone can be so romantic, the same way time loops or airports can be romantic.

I love that we're given backstory for Judd's tattoo and the fact that it's born out of romance, but also guidance. I love the scene where Judd calls just to hang up when Grace isn't the one answering. I love that the first time Judd sees Grace, his first words are, "You are so beautiful" like I'm going to throw UP 😭

I love that we get to see them fall in love in a way that makes sense for just how in love they are with each other this current day. Even in the s4 finale where Grace is looking for Judd so they can dance together, it makes me swoon. They're still so in love with each other!

Charlie and Tommy (god)parent trapping them at the hospital because they knew that both of them would show up and they should be together, is just chef's kiss.

I also like the discussion around classism because I feel like that's such important social commentary.

I've actually showed this episode to a couple friends of mine because they needed to see the love story that is Judd finding something to live for after thinking life had nothing worthy.

oooooh they better come through with the s6 buck whump and I desperately want to be right about it being a buddie stuck in a car scenario (since I wrote like a whole meta dissertation on it aklfsjdhjk xD) and I would literally pay them SO MUCH MONEY to have buck hurt worse but stuck and eddie forced to leave buck (including a dramatic conversation) either to get chris out or to get help, but then also have him come back for buck (OBVIOUSLY) and save him, all while very visibly absolutely losing it <3 THE SIGNS ARE ALL THERE!! (also ILYSM for putting that good angsty buck whump content on my dash <3)  

SARAH STOP (keep going). Ever since the scene bw Grace and Judd in 2x09 of LS I've been imagining that scenario for Buck and Eddie, and 5x11 just reinforced that Need. I think it would be spectacular. Poetic. Revolutionary. Catch me not complaining about anything ever again if they did this LMAO

In the aftermath of the accident, Grace struggles with dreams and her husband is there for her.

Read on AO3 Grace comes to with a gasp. She’s in the truck with rising water lapping at her body and making her shiver. She jerks against it, trying to swim but she’s trapped. Looking down, Grace finds her legs crushed between the seat and the console of Judd’s truck. She yanks at them but there’s no use. 

Judd.

Grace turns but the driver’s seat is empty. Her hands claw at the water, making loud slapping sounds as she searches for him in the water.  

“Judd! Judd!”

There is no response. He’s not here and the door isn’t open. It’s like he just disappeared into thin air. 

The water suddenly reaches her neck, when she was certain it was at her chest a moment ago. A cry echoes in Grace’s ears, but it’s not her own or Judd’s. It’s the cry of a baby. The fear that started when she woke explodes into terror. The baby. She has to get to the baby. 

“Judd!” Grace calls into the darkness as the water begins making its way past her chin. She tilts her head back, soaking her hair. “Save the baby. Judd!”

“Grace, baby, I’m right here,” her husband’s voice comes, but it sounds far away. “I’ve got you.”

“Judd!” The ghost of his hand caresses her face. 

“I’m here. You’re here. Wake up.”

Grace gasps and her eyes open for the second time in a few minutes. She feels like she’s been running as she breathes desperately. The water is gone, although she still feels damp. Judd’s face is hovering over hers, concern wrinkling his brow. Moonlight filters in from the window, illuminating his face and the concern in those blue eyes.

He’s alive. They both are.

“Judd,” Grace sobs, closing her eyes in relief.

 “Hey, girl,” Judd croons, softly. His hand strokes over her wrapped hair. “You’re okay. You’re alright. I’ve got you.” Continue on AO3

Do you think Carlos will be in 2x09? I'm excited for the Grace/Judd backstory but I've been worried that Carlos isn't going to be in it. The promo gives me slight hope that Carlos will come to the hospital with TK (assuming time jump), but I still have trust issues with the writers when it comes to including Carlos in episodes. Since if I remember correctly, you are 2 for 2 predicting Carlos 'credit only' episodes this season, I was curious what your thoughts are if you are willing to give them?

So, immediately following 2x08 and seeing the promo and knowing that 2x09 was going to feature a lot of flashbacks with Judd/Grace (and that the episode would pretty much completely be about them), my first thought was that Carlos would not be in 2x09 at all. My even *crazier* thought was thinking that TK might not be in it either, and that he and Carlos would be off healing from the events of 2x08.

Now, I’m not really sure. Considering the rest of the team won’t be involved in the story as part of the rescue team (like I originally thought they might), that means that they’re all just involved as friends/family, and it seems weird to leave both TK and Carlos (but especially TK) out of those moments. Also, is TK still in the hospital, or has he been discharged to go home and recover?

Obviously Judd, Grace, Tommy, and Charles (and Owen, because this is Lone Star we’re talking about) are going to have all of the storylines for the episode, but if all of the other characters are just sitting around worrying, I would hope that Carlos could also be a part of that, too. But, then again, they didn’t even let Carlos be a part of 1x09 when TK was in the hospital, so there really is no guarantee that we’ll see him in 2x09 either.
