okay, storytime!

as you might know, i've started cross-posting my works here to wattpad and ao3 to help mitigate plagiarism/copying that could happen. and i'm starting to cross-post year 1 fics including ashen.

if you haven't read ashen, it is basically me flexing my html skills and using tumblr's post features as best as i can to interpret a multiverse story with mc as cinderella. it is complete with:

ever-changing font style

ever-changing font color which includes gradient (which i'm not doing with this post because i write this with rich text format)

so, me being naive, i started to do the process of cross-posting when i stumble upon something...

wattpad doesn't do html > my changing font style and color method doesn't work at all

ao3 only do limited html > the more advanced html code i use to do the font style and color changes don't work also

i have an epiphany, "so that means i can't cross-post ashen there?""

the answer to that is an astounding yes because the changing font style and color are what is making it unique. ashen has so many "you"s that i have to assign each of them a color to make it understandable. if it is just copied and pasted into wattpad/ao3 without proper formatting and code, it won't work at all and the story won't make much sense; the reader will be confused

what i want to tell with this post is that: you have to experiment with every arsenal tumblr has to give

make your characters writing in cursive

play around with font style and colors like when a monster is approaching you, their footsteps it's getting closer

closer...

or documents that your character is writing inside a computer

I haven’t read the weekend yet, but I’m definitely excited to read it. I saw one of you post and I agreed I feel like fanfics are phasing out here on tumblr because of the boys are enlisting. Like there were so many good writers that are no longer on here anymore. So many stories disappeared along with them that I would love to read again.
