rating haikyū!! characters based on how much I'd like to date them

slowly starting to realize that I'm the problem. . .

hinata shōyō: 5/10

I'm like 5'3 which is SHORTER than hinata so ig it could serve as an ego boost for him

no but how would we ever reach anything on the top shelf 😭

although I guess he could just jump for it??

very high-energy all the time and I honestly don't think I'd be able to keep up with him

kageyama tobio: 8/10

jeez idk on this one

we'd either get along really well or he'd hate my guts

like hey, you're socially awkward, I'm socially anxious

he's too good at volleyball and it'd make me feel inferior

if he's not motivated to learn English idk how this is gonna work

he's a whole foot taller than me

I like the low energy vibes and the appreciation for music though

Doesn't matter if you're relationship with him is platonic or romantic, He's always flirting with you🙂

Does not expect you to flirt back so don't because things might get weird or... change.

And you don't want things to change cause you've seen him breaking up with other girls after a few days of dating.

You two are always goofing around at classes, making fun of others while not paying attention to the lessons at all.

You claim that it's his fault because he's distracting you, and you're lowkey right but he keeps denying it😭

Other girls are not a fan of you because c'mon! You're friends with Dazai Osamu! The most charming boy in the high school!

Dazai ignores others because he thinks that it's not bothering you, but he gets upset when others bully you over stuff because of your connection with him.

Lowkey tries to be a bit distant but when he sees you trying to get close to him, he's relieved and things get back to normal.

Dazai has a special spot for his friends in his heart, and you already know that if you're familiar with Odasaku, and you're his friend too.

So he's protective of you, even though he's not really showing it; but will have your back when you run into trouble.

If some guy tries to break your heart, well... rest in peace.

Not saying that Dazai would get in a fight with him cause he's Dazai, but with his sharp mind and smart ass, he doesn't need to use any strength to teach that bastard a lesson.

As I said before, and you already know that, he's a player; and it bothers you when his exes come to you and ask you about him, or to see if they still have a shot with him and stuff.

You scold him when he makes fun of other people's height or their red hair or how they braid their hair and their outfit :)))

Though he's expecting you to collaborate with him on this one XD

Is not a fan of studying, so makes you study so you can tell him the answers, or gets them from another girl who has a thing for him and gives them to you to if you need any.

You were so distracted in the classroom that teachers make you sit far away from each other lmao.

But they can't do anything to you outside the classroom so that's when the real deal is on, baby 😎

Why is writing for him so hard what is wrong with me😭

Just because I wrote that much for Dazai doesn't mean I would do the same for Fyodor -_-

Anyway, he's not a really talkative person, so you're not attracted to him at first sight,

He doesn't look like a shy guy, he's just not going to waste his energy unless it's necessary to speak so you decide not to bother him.

But things change when you get a bad grade at physics and the teacher asks him to be your tutor.

He agrees cause he doesn't really care anyway.

Fyodor is definitely the top of his class. You never see him study but he pays attention to the teacher carefully while he teaches, so you know that studying with him will be helpful, but you're kinda nervous cause let's be real. the guy looks scary. (Hot scary😏)

So when you do spend time together, you realize that he's actually an interesting guy, and a super smart one, so you come to like him and start hanging around with him everywhere he goes hoping maybe you would become friends.

You're the one who comes to him though, asking where is he heading to and would be it ok if you come along and he always says yes cause as I said before, he doesn't care.

Now being Fyodor's friend is not something Fun at first, but rather meaningful and interesting. You gradually become familiar with his perspective of things and the world, and this would effect you way of thinking and seeing things too. After becoming his friend, you pay attention to details more closely than you did before, and you try to understand the connection and logical explanation behind them.

You two would never talk about you're relationship and that you're friends, because you don't know what his reaction would be and you're also not willing to take the risk, so it's not something offical.

Being his friend adds to you're knowledge and his effect on you is definitely considerable, so you like to be around him but you can never know if he does too since you can't ask him about him neither read his mind 🚶🏻‍♀️

Inarizaki Boys At the Beach

[HQ Headcanon]

~ because I went to the beach today

Aran Ojiro:

Would help set up everything and clean up— the umbrella, the grill, the towels, whatever is left out on the beach. Aran would have some time to himself... and probably spend that lazing in his chair because the boy earned it.

Akagi Michinari:

Would probably have fun playing in the water with Osamu/ Ginjima. And he would totally get into chicken fights with Ginjima on the twin's shoulders or Akagi on Ginjima's. Would offer to help clean up but Aran and Kita got it already

Ginjima Hitoshi:

This mf is running on the beach screaming his head off with Atsumu. He's playing volleyball? In the water? Stomping over sand castles? Yeah, they're yelling.

Kita Shinsuke:

Like Aran would help set up/ clean up. I feel like Kita would also make a bomb ass sandcastle with "help" (documentation) from Suna. Would show his rare annoyed side when Atsumu and Ginjima run through part of it.

Miya Atsumu:

This mf is like an overexcited golden retriever and has to be moving to get all of his energy out. He's playing volleyball, swimming (previously mentioned), running around (also previously mentioned), and when he finally is done the food is ready and he's eating the most. Kita and Osamu say it's okay for him to start his nap in the van early so he skips on cleaning up

Miya Osamu:

He's worried about the grill the whole time, and you BEST believe he's the grill master. He's the one holding the tongs and making sure the barbecue is perfect. He'd take a break to go join for one game of volleyball and a few chicken fights in the water (only passing the tongs to kita), before returning to his station.

Omimi Rēn:

Ummm, tbh, not really sure what he would do. Maybe he would just sit there? Bring a book to read under the umbrella while Aran relaxes? He would definitely break down the umbrella and he'd be the one holding the bags of towels and sand castle materials (shovels and buckets etc). This guy is on his phone the whole time (except for when he's inevitably dragged into playing a game of volleyball by the twins— mostly Atsumu). He's taking pictures and does get some sick shots of the waves. He's forced to help clean up a little, but overall is on his phone.

haikyuu boys that ━━

━━ would absolutely, definitely, 100% get nauseous, dizzy, possibly might faint, while their s/o is in labor. one peak and they’re doubling over the hospital bed, inhaling deeply and exhaling sharply, steeling themselves. some are surprising, some are expected. all are stupid.

iwaizumi hajime; he just cannot. he cannot fathom what is happening. there is no way you’re going through that and surviving. no wonder you’re screaming in pain. of course you’re screaming in pain. he takes one look at what’s going on and just immediately takes a step back, eyebrows raised and hand pressed to his chest like “my god.” he’s an 8/10 though because he is incredibly supportive and those arms are great to grab onto. will not complain for a second (is strangely way too quiet), but he’s worryingly pale. maybe he’s quiet cause if he speaks he’ll throw up.

The most likely to mess up because you're around.

Sugawara knows he's not the best on his team and he doesn't want you to feel like you're dating a setter who isn't even good at his role.

However, he's happy to see you cheer him on and interact with the rest of the team, and he eventually feels relaxed and likes having you around during practice.

He also asks you about your opinion on certain plays and even teaches you a thing or two during breaks.

He thinks it's fun that his s/o and closest friends can interact with each other.

Sugawara is still a little insecure about not being a regular but he loves having you around nonetheless.

Kenma Kozume

Doesn't realise you're there at first.

When Kenma plays he gets really into the zone. He already exerts a lot of energy during the game itself so he doesn't want to spend extra energy focusing on irrelevant things like the people around him.

Hides behind you when Iwaizumi threatens him because he knows he won't get hit if you're in front.

Oikawa loves teaching you volleyball and gets really passionate about it too, making you stay with him after practice to teach you little tricks and moves.

Loves talking to you about the team and vice versa.

Tries showing off to impress you but ends up making mistakes which earns him a hit from Iwaizumi.

Alternatively, he points towards you whenever he scores with his serves. It would be cute if he wasn't so awfully set on embarrassing you by giving you flying kisses and saying cheesy things.

Miya Atsumu

Another one who doesn't realise you're there while he's playing.

When he does see you after the match ends he's quick to run towards you and engage in conversation.

Atsumu loves the fact that you came to watch him and even mocks Osamu about how he isn't in a relationship.

He tries showing off for you but actually succeeds. Kita and the coaches are annoyed about it but can't really do anything since it's not like he made a mistake.

Atsumu absolutely loves talking about you. Would literally ramble about your hairstyle throughout stretches if Osamu didn't shut him up.

Literally loves PDA. Will kiss you whenever he can, he doesn't even care if the entire team watches.

Of course he won't do it if you're uncomfortable.

When they have breaks he has his arm around your shoulders constantly and includes you in every conversation he has.

Akaashi Keiji

how the haikyuu boys end the year

tsukishima

he relaxes on his couch, either watching a documentary or reading a book, not paying attention to the time. probably wouldn’t even notice it’s new years eve until he heart fireworks outside and scowls. he also probably hates new years because of the noisy-ness. he makes no new years resolutions and goes to bed he same way he does every night, and wakes up the next day the same way he wakes up every morning.

oikawa

the type to throw a mini new years party with all of his closest friends in attendance. spends the day shopping for supplies and baking sweets and cleaning the apartment for the guests. either singing holiday songs under his breath or blasting them at full volume on his speakers, regardless of his neighbors complaints. also bakes his neighbors cookies afterwards because, hey, even he knows he’s a pain in the ass (sometimes).

ushijima

wouldn’t do anything normally, except tendou invites himself over and forces ushiwaka to go to the pastry place he owns and help out because it’s flooded with orders. basically, he spends his day doing work for his best friend. doesn’t really mind. honestly just looks forward to working out the next morning. is tired by the end of the day but tendou brings him out a small cake as a thank-you to share and ushijima devours it, telling himself he’ll just double the workout routine tomorrow.

atsumu

“new year, new me!” headass. makes a list of things he’ll swear he’ll actually do but deep down inside he knows he won’t do them because he’s too hyper-focused on volleyball. says he’ll have one (1) drink but ends up having like 4 and because he’s a lightweight he passes out on his couch and wakes up the next morning to osamu in his apartment with a bag of new years onigiri. a little sad he missed the year transition but also doesn’t care because: food.

kageyama

doesn’t realize it’s new years eve until like 11:30pm when he’s almost asleep and his sister calls him to wish him a happy new year and he he’s like “a happy new what”. hinata video calls him from brazil to wish him the same, but kageyama ignores his call because it’s too late and he has leg day tomorrow. (after declining hinata’s call kags feels bad and sends him a ‘happy new years, i guess’ text message LOL)

osamu

spends the early morning changing the prices on his food to be higher because people are willing to pay more and hey a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do for a fat paycheck. literally all day is just cooking food, giving out food, cooking more food, getting that sick cash. he closes late at night, like 11pm, and spends his last minutes of the year to hand out free food to the homeless because he’s not heartless. before he goes to bed he packs food to give to atsumu the next day and goes to bed happy and fulfilled.

tendou

busy making sweets the day before new years eve and the day of. underestimates the amount of help he needs that day and ends up panicking and getting ushiwaka... and ends up forcing him to do unpaid labor for the day. poor tendou is running around all day, but he makes hella cash so its worth it. closes the shop early and decides to share a cake with ushijima but the green giant decides to eat it all and tendou is just sitting there like: ok ey i gu ess, nonetheless ends the year with his bestie so he’s fine :’)

kuroo

spends his new years eve finishing up a project for his company, sleep-deprived and tired. is happy that another year has passed but also lowkey doesn’t care and just wants to take a warm shower and sleep. doesn’t get to his apartment until like 10pm but when he gets home kenma is there with the rest of their old teammates, setting up a cake and other decorations. suddenly kuroo’s energy goes up and he thinks he can stay up for a little while longer. (p.s. lev breaks a potted plant and kuroo almost commits homicide)

iwaizumi

is at oikawa’s end of the year party, dressed in sweats and wearing a headband that as 2021 in golden, glittery numbers. has beer in his hand, casually chatting with his old teammates and friends. actually pretty excited for the new year because he comes up with a new training regimen every year for himself. honestly just a chill guy who hopes the next year will be fruitful, and goes about his merry day. the first half of his day is spent cleaning his apartment because he believes it gives him a clean slate for the new year. so pure omf

lives for the tea. he can’t wait to see you at the end of each day so you can tell him all about work, your friends, and any drama that came along with it. this man is invested. he’s only met some of your friends a handful of times but he knows every detail about their relationship drama and the fights within your friend circle.

he’ll ask you about it too. you’ll be sitting on the couch together and out of nowhere he’ll just ask “hey, did _____ and _____ ever make up?”

they didn’t, and he needs to know more.

“nope, and you won’t believe what they said”

this man will turn off the tv and sit up and give you every ounce of attention he has.

don’t forget about osamu, who also knows absolutely everything thanks to your boyfriends big mouth. he’s become just as bad and gets all the info from atsumu. osamu hasn’t even met these people, but they’re both like vultures and are immersed in the drama. as long as it doesn’t involve you, it’s prime entertainment.

they’ll lowkey talk about it when they have friends over too and act like they know these people.

“did you know ____ and ____ broke up?”

osamu will whip his head around, shocked.

“no way?”

atsumu nods, explaining every detail of your friends breakup to him.

suna’s sitting on the couch listening and completely lost. he knows everyone the twins know, and hasn’t ever heard these names.

“who the fuck are you guys even talking about?”

he will never let you carry in the groceries. he also will not make more than one trip from the car to the house.

this means he absolutely will struggle and force 10 bags onto each arm just so he doesn’t have to come back or make you carry anything.

“hajime...? i can help, you know?”

iwaizumi shakes his head, kicking the car door closed.

“all i need you to do is unlock the front door, sweetheart. that’s more then enough help.” he says this genuinely, wanting to do whatever he can to make your life even half a percent easier.

sakusa

he’s soft, especially when he’s tired. he spends so much time over exerting himself in his practices that when he finally gets home he drops on the couch and passes out right there.

he makes sure to shower in the locker room before leaving, knowing he won’t have the energy for it when he gets back to his house.

his peaceful face always makes you smile. you knew how hard he worked. how far he pushed himself every day. constantly trying to get better, be better, even though you told him every day you already thought he was the best.

that always made him smile.

you’d clean up a bit and once it was time to get in bed, you’d stroke his cheek just soft enough to wake him up. he’d squint at you, half asleep, and give you the sweetest smile. his normally dark and avoidant eyes full of kindness, love, and adoration for you.

“hi baby” he’d say as he rested his hand on top of yours. he’d lift up the blanket, moving back on the couch the slightest bit to make room for you.

“don’t you want to go to bed?” you’d ask him.

he’d shake his head, motioning for you to get on the couch with him. it was an extremely tight fit, the couch was small and your boyfriend’s a 6’4 athlete with a vigorous weight training regimen. his massive body will wrap around you, pulling you into his chest while he kisses your temple.

“you look so pretty today” he’d mumble, his deep voice in his chest vibrating against your cheek.

“so do you” you’d smile. you meant that. sure, your omi is a big, muscular man with an unapproachable expression most of the time, but you thought he was absolutely beautiful. the way his dark curly hair framed his face, his sharp jawline and curves of his body making your heart skip a beat at least once a day. your heart was full of nothing but love for him, and he felt the exact same for you.

he’d loop his arms under yours and rolled onto his back, pulling you completely on top of him. you wrapped your arms around him and buried your face in his neck. his hands would slowly trace along your back as he whispered sweet nothings to you.

“missed you so much today...” he’d sigh, “i think about you all day. i could spend forever with you and it wouldn’t even be enough...” he’d trail off, his eyes heavy and breathing slowly evening out.

“i missed you too, omi” you smiled into him, pressing a kiss to his jaw.

a few seconds later you’d hear the quietest snores coming from above you. you’d look up, your boyfriend fast asleep again.

you settled into his chest, his arms wrapping you up and keeping you safe, even when he wasn’t consciously doing it.

sleeping on the couch didn’t actually seem that bad.
