Chapter 4 -  Little by Little I Fall For You
Words: 7.1K
Warnings: nosebleed, mentions of blood, scheming, pranking, angst, and fluff
--------------------
Love makes my mind give way.
“Damn Icestone. I knew you were smart but I didn’t know you were a genius at potions! That’s why you don’t write down on your parchment whenever Snape blabbers about his potions...you’re basically a master too!” George complimented.
The controversial human relations of Y/N Icestone hanging out with a Gryffindor, especially a Weasley, grew even more after the party held 3 weeks ago. After the stunt George pulled, the unfolded events were spread like wildfire. Rumor has it that George Weasley fancies Y/N Icestone. Apparently, Slytherin queen Y/N Icestone fancies him back.
Not an ounce did the Slytherin gave a damn to the nosey people chasing after her tail. However, somehow she was relieved. Because the event caused the couple to hang around more frequently. After George’s sudden confession, nothing really changed in their relationship. They remained as friends.
Except they were friends who walked each other in classes as they slightly brushed their hands against the other, friends who gave forehead and cheek kisses as a quick goodbye, and friends who stole glances at each other across the great hall. Yeah. Friends.
George and Y/N were currently seated inside the library, the ginger actually convincing Icestone to tutor him for their upcoming O.W.L.S. To be really honest, it's not like George had convincing to do. Y/N would have agreed anyways.
But what the Slytherin didn’t expect was to catch the Gryffindor alone. And early! The Weasley twins never parted. They were always attached at the hip! However, somehow Y/N felt giddy that she gets to spend some hours alone with George.
The Slytherin huffed to calm her rapid heartbeat so as to not make heat rise up her cheeks from the Gryffindor’s flattery. “What are you talking about?” She snapped.
George rested an elbow on their shared desk, his chin settling down on his palm as he gave the girl an astonishing look. “How ‘bout replacing Snape in the next few years, love?”
Y/N shrugged, turning her attention back to the open book to avoid getting lost at the boy's eyes. “I’ll consider. I do love potions afterall.”
George’s ear’s spiked up at the statement. He was really interested in knowing more about Y/N Icestone but he was having a hard time because she doesn’t really let people in. She was more of a listener. Whenever the two hang out, it’s always George who tries to keep the conversation going. He’d ask questions, get answers, but then the topic always comes back to him like a boomerang. “Well, then what do you plan after Hogwarts? Are you gonna enter the ministry? Be a healer? What’s your plan, Icestone?”
The Slytherin gave the boy a glare. “I mean, Y/N?”
Y/N places her quill down, turning on her sides to rest her elbow on the desk, mirroring George’s position. Humming as she had her eyes at the ceiling, briefly thinking about an answer to the question.
“Ministry? Nope. Healer? Sounds...interesting. Like I said, I really do love potions. Maybe a job that revolves around potions?” She suggested rather to herself before sighing in defeat.
”I’m not sure, George. My parents want to marry me into a family as soon as I get out of here.” She reasoned.
George rolled his eyes, the hand that had his chin rested being retrieved to slap the desk annoyingly which caused Madam Pince to give him a glare. George gave her a slight bow as an apology before ranting to Y/N in a more toned down voice. “Honestly, what is with Slytherins treating Hogwarts like a mating area? Marriage? We’re just teenagers!”
“I know!” Y/N exclaimed.
The ginger scoffed, rolling his eyes as he crossed his arms against his chest. “I’m gonna make sure that my children get to do whatever they want when they grow up. Marry, go enter the ministry, work at Gringotts, anything their heart desires!” He confidently proclaimed, making the Slytherin spat a quiet and short giggle.
George immediately felt his pulse run faster with the sound. He froze in place, staring at the girl in front of him. Y/N noticed the sudden tension in their bubble, however, challenging the boy’s stare as her own darted at his. Their atmosphere became quiet. Quiet but not awkward. It was more like a comfortable silence. Just a Slytherin and a Gryffindor staring at the window’s of each other’s soul, trying to find ways to enter and be mates. Soulmates.
A few moments after their little staring contest, Y/N decided to break the bubble by whispering a question of her own. “How ‘bout you, George? What do you plan after Hogwarts?”
“Marry you.” George replied, not breaking his intense stare.
Y/N felt the familiar heat rising in her cheeks which made her feel a little embarrassed. For the nth time today, her heart was beating rapidly, intense like the sound of the drums whenever there was a quidditch world cup. Trying to hide her flustered self, she spat a demanding “What?!” earning a small laugh from the boy in front of her.
“Are you blushing?” He teased, a smirk plastered on his face as he pointed a finger at the girl’s face. “I just made your heart flutter didn’t I?”
The girl scoffed, rolling her eyes. “No. You’re really mad. It’s just the cold.” She reasoned. It was now the turn of the ginger to roll his eyes before getting ahold of the knitted material resting on his neck, unwrapping the soft scarf, and gently snaking it around Y/N’s neck, tucking her in.
The beating of the Slytherin’s heart went allegro. Heat crawling up her neck, to her cheeks, and to all over her face. Only this time, she failed to cover it up.
George had a finger raised, pointing at the girl’s face, still a teasing smirk plastered across his face. “You’re even redder than before. Don’t tell me it's the cold. You like me~” He sang, earning him a smack on the arm and a glaring Y/N Icestone.
“Shut up!” The girl demanded.
The boy huffed, decreasing the gap between their faces before muttering “Make me.”
Y/N decreased the gap even more causing their foreheads to touch. The couples face being inches away from meeting, the ginger feeling the girl’s hot breath against his which caused him to pull himself away and turn as red as his hair. “O-okay! Chill down Icestone!” He stuttered, feeling heat all over his body as the girl in front of him began stifling a laugh.
George groaned, crossing his arms against his chest as he huffed. Meanwhile, Y/N gave her head a small shake before turning her attention back to the essay that she was writing, a small smile on her lips as she read through her notes before jolting some sentences down her unrolled piece of expensive parchment. George just stared at the girl in front of him, his small pout being replaced by a grin as his thoughts consumed him.
If he was to go back in time and tell his 3-months-ago-self that he would be sitting with Slytherin’s pride and joy, Slytherin’s queen, the Icestone heir, the girl who often gave ice-cold glares to people who blocks her ways, and the girl who turned him and his twin little ginger kittens because of a miscalculated prank, he would probably think that he was mad. Not once did he ever think of hanging around with Y/N Icestone. Not once did he ever think of being friends with Y/N Icestone. Not once did he even ever think of developing feelings for Y/N Icestone.
George, however mentally scoffed at the last thought. If he was being honest, the task given to him by Fred keeps on slipping his mind as time goes by. He constantly had to remind himself that what he and Y/N have are not truly genuine. That he was just playing this little prank and Y/N must have been playing something on him too. I mean, a Slytherin couldn’t possibly think that a Gryffindor is worthy of their friendship, right? At Least that’s what he tried to convince himself. A game, George. A game. None of this is real.
“A joke shop.” He suddenly blurted out.
Y/N’s ears perked up at the small and random statement. Scribbling the last words of her generated sentence before turning her attention back at the ginger. “What?” She questions, confused written all over her face.
“Earlier, you asked me what I’m planning to do after Hogwarts. A joke shop. Me and Fred are planning to start a Joke shop.” He repeated, suddenly getting embarrassed at his confession which caused him to scratch the back of his head before turning to his still empty parchment.
With the girl still amused at the ginger’s answer, she was speechless. I mean, she didn’t expect George to go beyond the box. She knew that Fred and George were huge pranksters but she didn’t know that this was how serious they both were with it. She was stunned. She wouldn’t say it out loud, but the Weasley twins have just earned her respect. However, far inside the back of her head, she was jealous. The twins had freedom. They could do whatever they want. She, however, had to reach her family’s expectations.
On the other hand, George felt Y/N’s silence suffocating. Merlin, she might think it’s stupid. I mean, she said she wanted to have a career centered around in potions. I want to have a joke shop. What a joke, I am. “It’s stupid, I know but —“
Y/N quickly brushed her thoughts away, moving in her seat as she placed a hand at the back of George’s neck, pulling him before slamming her lips against his.
Before George was able to return the force, the Slytherin pulled away, retrieving her hand back and staring at the boy with narrowed eyes. “What was that for?!” George asked, stunned.
“To make you shut up.” George’s face went as red as a tomato, however, still confused by Y/N’s reaction towards his chosen career path.
The girl glowed a big grin, pointing at the boy’s face like he did to her earlier, deciding to tease him. “Now look who’s blushing.”
The Gryffindor let out a forced cough, swatting the Slytherin’s hand away from his face. “Shut up!”
Y/N stifled a small laugh at George’s reaction, thinking that it was actually funny to do the teasing. So this was what George felt when he was teasing me. She thought.
Finally getting back to her more composed self, she stared at the pouting boy gently, her eyes like a doe, innocent and genuine. “That’s amazing, George.” She complimented, making George sit up straight and have a shocked look on his face.
“Really?!”
“Really.”
George grinned so wide that his teeth could blind a passerby. “So is this some sort of approval that you’re going to support me and Fred’s joke shop?”
“Why wouldn’t I?” Y/N asked, an eyebrow raised towards George for the what she thinks is a stupid question.
“Because it’s stupid?” George suggested, causing Y/N’s raised brows to furrow as she crossed her arms against her chest, ready to give him a small lecture.
“Shut up, George! It’s not stupid! If you’re really passionate about running that shop, then go for it! If it’s your dream, reach for it! Run for it and don’t stop until you get there!” She demanded.
“But people say-“
“Who cares what people think, George? Are you really going to let other people’s opinion define who you are? Who you want to be? Don’t listen to them. Do whatever you want. Just ignore and go on your own way.”
After Y/N’s little words of wisdom and affirmation, George was left speechless, completely melting from the girl’s words. George was amazed. He was glad and giddy. After numerous times of sharing his career choice to his friends, not once did he ever receive a reaction like Y/N’s. His friends would laugh it off, thinking that it was probably going to change once the twin’s reach their seventh year. His friends didn’t take him seriously. Even his own mom couldn’t believe him!
“Wow.” George mused. Y/N looked at him, her head tilting as she examined his face. “What’s wrong?”
“I think I just fell in love with you.”

Fred was seated on top of his bed, rolls of parchment on his left and a box of different sweets on his right. He was monitoring him and George’s products, evaluating on which one they should release next.
Noticing that his twin wasn’t on his own bed, he looked around the room, rolling his eyes and forcing a rather loud cough when he saw George about to grab the handle of the door. George, failing to escape quietly, faced his twin, a guilty and apologetic smile plastered around his freckled face. “Hey...Freddie. You seemed busy so I didn’t really want to disturb you…” George reasoned, earning a scoff from Fred.
The older twin dropped the parchment he was examining to cross his arms, raising a brow towards the younger twin. “George. Piece of advice, you shouldn’t be snogging someone else if we are to go on with our plan against the ice queen.”
“Snogging? I’m not snogging anyone.” George denied, both hands in front of him as he held out all five fingers, as a sign of defense.
Fred rolled his eyes once again, clearly not believing George. “Oh yeah? Well then where were you last night? And the other night? And the other night too!”
“What do you mean?”
“What do I mean?” The older twin repeated before giving a scoff. “I’m not stupid, George. At least not THAT stupid to not notice how you have been sneaking around at night. And without telling me! Your own twin brother.” He exclaimed before placing his hands against his heart to feign an offended look, “You pain me, brother. What happened to telling each other secrets?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Fred’s hands travelled down his hips, a brow raising once again. “Playing hard to get, ey? What secret of yours should I reveal to the whole school right now? That one time when we were 5 and you accidentally-“
“Okay fine! But I was not snogging anyone. In fact, I was with Icestone. At the astronomy tower.” George confessed, a hand rubbing the back of his head, slightly embarrassed for revealing his and Icestone’s midnight escapades.
“Perfect!” Fred beamed. “I don’t know why you haven’t been updating me with our scheme when we’re a team...I really had to hear most of the stuff from the school gossip but it’s good to know that we’re still right on track!”

“Nosebleed nougat?” Y/N questioned the ginger in front of her.
A few nights after George’s reveal of his career choice to Y/N, the Slytherin wanted to get involved as an observer. She thought that the bewitched letters that spit water at the receiver was brilliant but she knew how it worked as she was able to bewitch hers into something that throws pie at the face. She did, however, wanted to see more, as the Weasley twins were really popular for their products. Therefore, she found herself in the room of requirement with George, who had a simmering cauldron in front of him.
“Yeah! Me and Fred's latest product. Only, I still don’t know how I’m supposed to make this. You see, Fred is more of the....plan generator. I am in charge of the execution. He’s the mastermind and I’m the...whatever you call it.” George explained.
“You’re the executioner.” Y/N suggested, earning a snort from George. “It makes it sound like I’m the one who’s going to punish a bad person.” Realizing this, Y/N started laughing, which George found infectious that made him laugh too.

“George, I got it! You have to crush the peppermint! Not put one whole but crush it to bits and pieces and sprinkle it around the potion!” Y/N exclaimed, quickly grabbing a peppermint and crushing it using a mortar and pestle.
A few minutes after watching George scrunch up his nose and think in his ginger head hardly on how to create the product, Y/N felt suffocated. It was painful to watch George casually throw ingredients into the cauldron without much thinking that caused countless explosions in the room. When Y/N stood up from her seat, George felt a pang of disappointment hit him as he thought that the girl was bored and was tired of him being unable to figure things out. However, he was surprised to see Y/N take off her Slytherin robes and roll her sleeves before grabbing an ingredient and staring at it, to think deeply.
George felt giddy once again. The only one who has helped him was his twin. No other person on earth got involved with their products when creating.
After Y/N letting the recipe cool down in a wooden pan, she took out a bunch and cut it into bite-sized pieces. She carefully placed it on a tray before offering it to George, who looked amused by Y/N’s work.
“It...looks like what I have here.” George stated, pointing at the tray in front of him, which caused Y/N to roll her eyes at him. “Yes but yours didn’t work at all. Your nose bled like...2 drops. Besides, yours are shaped like squares. Mine are diamonds. Bet you 10 galleons that mine would 100% work. I’m so sure of it. You have to test it out.” She demanded.
“Me?! No way! You made it, you go test it!” George exclaimed, causing Y/N to groan.
“No.” She remarked.
“Yes.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“George-”
“Alright, alright. I bet you’re just scared that yours would malfunction and that you think that it's better to be me than you.” The ginger pronounced, moving to set in front of Y/N to grab a piece before his hand was swatted away. George, confused, was surprised to see the girl having her brows furrowed, the tray settled down on a table as she chewed on her created sweet.
Almost immediately, blood started dripping out of her nostrils like waterfalls. Her eyes were wide and watery, tears threatening to spill from the pain she’s feeling. Turning around for privacy, she quickly covered her nose with a free hand before shoving the other side of the nougat on her mouth to stop the bleeding.
Moving to the table to retrieve her wand, she cleaned herself up before facing George with a grin on her face, who had his mouth open from utter shock. “It worked~” Y/N sang. “I told you so!”
For the second time this week, George was speechless. Not once did he ever expect for someone to willingly test their dangerous sweets. Not once did he ever expect for it to be a Slytherin, for it to be Y/N Icestone.
“Wicked.” was all that came out from his mouth, shaking his head from side to side as he gave the girl an applause. The grin on Y/N’s face remained as she curtsied, muttering cocky “thank you, thank you...of course I could do it. I am Y/N Icestone afterall.”

A few hours after creating more nosebleed nougats, George and Y/N were sprawled at the floors of the room of requirement, wrapping the sweet into its packaging as they quietly chatted.
“Hey, Y/N. Can I try something?” George asked, dropping the packaged nougat into his box as he looked at Y/N. The girl nodded, mirroring the boy’s action before facing him with a raised brow.
“So me and Fred have been practicing palm reading.” He announced, a small smile plastered around his face as he executed the little plan in his head.
Y/N gave him a look of amusement. “Palm reading?!” She repeated, earning a nod from George, who had a hand offered to Y/N. The Slytherin stared at his hand then to George then to his hand then back to George again, confused written all over her face. “Why?”
“Can I try and read yours?” George urged. Almost immediately, the Slytherin accepted, moving closer to George to let him examine her palm.
The ginger held it softly, tracing a finger at the lines of the girl’s palm, a determined look on his face as he squinted and pretended to understand something. “Hmm….interesting” He commented.
“What? What is it?” Y/N, who was curious, queried.
George put Y/N's hand on her lap, turning his attention on her doe-like eyes. “It seems like you’re going to be on a date this weekend. With a ginger Gryffindor in Hogsmeade.” He professed, the girl’s curious and expecting look changing into an amused one, realizing that George was lying and that the twins were not actually practicing palm reading.
The Slytherin put out a thinking look, looking at the ceiling as she hummed. “Hmm...Perhaps Ginny?” She said, attempting to tease George, who only ignored her.
Intensely staring at the girl with a hopeful look, George sat. “You and me. Hogsmeade this weekend. Please?”
Y/N beamed, nodding. “Of course, George.”

“So?” Daphne interrogated as she stood in front of Y/N who was seated in her bed, an innocent look on her face.
“So what?”
“What’s the tea?” Daphne questioned ever further, trying to get information.
Y/N glanced behind her best friend, to her fairy Mira, who was making tea for the both of them. “Uh...cherry and -”
“Not that kind of tea! The details! The 411! Hello? Has Weasley made you all dumb now?” Daphne conveyed impatiently, eager to get actual answers from her best friend who suddenly stays out of her room to go to unknown places. At least, unknown in Daphne’s knowledge.
“No! I am completely fine, Daphne.” Y/N suggested. The black-haired girl crossed her arms against her chest, a brow raised as she interrogated the girl in front of her. “You sure?”
“Yeah...just…”
“What?”
“I can’t help but think about George.” Y/N revealed, sprawling in her bed as she put an arm on top of her eyes. “He’s just...he’s amazing, really. He’s so thoughtful and he’s so smart, he’s funny, and he...treats me like a princess.”
“Everyone treats you like a queen, Icestone.” Daphne asserted, still having doubts at the Weasley’s true personality.
“Not him! People who treat me like a queen have other intentions with me. They either want to brag to other families that they got the Icestones on their side or just want a share with our family wealth! But George….he seems like he doesn’t care for any of those, at all!” Y/N articulated, dropping her arm as she felt Lixie lay on top of her.
“Are you sure, Y/N? I mean, don’t get me wrong but the Weasleys aren’t really on the wealthier side of the wizarding families…” Daphne carefully commented, carefully trying not to offend the Weasleys or even Y/N.
“Exactly my point! Those other families have been wanting more wealth and power from my family. They’re so greedy! I don’t think the Weasleys are like that at all. Besides, I met George, and of course his twin, Fred. I met their lovely sister Ginny who, by the way, adores Lixie! And Ron! I met Ron! They seem kind of nice.”
“So?”
“What do you mean, so?” Y/N asked, confused.
“So what are you gonna do then?”
Y/N sat up, her shoulders slumped as she sighed. She glanced up at Daphne who was impatiently waiting for her answer, before putting on a determined look on her face. “You know what, Daph? Screw the plan. I’m just gonna go with it and see where it takes me. I’m just gonna...fall.”
With Y/N’s answer, Daphne let out a small shriek. “Fall?! For Weasley?!”
“Yeah...fall.” Y/N repeated. “Free fall. And I’ll see where I’ll land.”
____________________
A day before the weekend’s Hogsmeade trip, the controversial duo agreed to not have their usual midnight escapade to the astronomy tower and to just get a good night’s rest. Besides, they are to spend the whole day together tomorrow after all.
Currently, the Weasley twins were casually seated in front of the fireplace situated in the Gryffindor common room, doodling on their piece of parchment for the next product they’re planning to create when suddenly, the entrance busts open with a small fairy followed by an enchanted trunk who was floating her. The fairy examined the Gryffindor common room in awe, foreign to the warmth as the Slytherin’s common room was usually cold. Once again scanning the room, her eyes landed to two identical redheads before making her way towards them.
“There you are! And here I was having second doubts if I would be able to find you. Good thing you’re both tall.” The fairy rambled, flying around the twins’ face as she spoke.
Fred, who was completely bewildered, spoke. “Uh...hi?”
“Oh! Hi! Apologies for my rambling. I’m Mira, Ms. Icestone’s fairy. I’m here to make a delivery? Which one of you is George Weasley then?” She inquired, her eyes moving back and forth to Fred and George.
“That would be me.” George spoke, curious as to why Y/N would send her fairy with a large trunk past 10:00 PM in the evening.
The fairy clasped her small hands before commanding the trunk to rest itself in front of George’s feet. “Great! Here!”
The trunk was as big as a treasure chest, jet black in color with silver linings, which made it look expensive. In fact, it really was expensive.
George knelt on one knee, his hand tracing the top of the chest before seeking Mira for answers “What exactly is this?”
The small flying fairy gave him a small smile, her small arms laid out as she presented the trunk to him. “I guess you’ll have to open it to find out.” She said. Suddenly, there was a soft meow near them.
Turning to look at the cat, Mira was delighted to see the familiar cat who sleeps beside her master, who was currently resting on top of Ginny’s arms. “Lixie! I didn’t know you were here! Sneaking out of the quarters again, I see? Did you ask Y/N’s permission?” The fairy asked, moving towards the Siamese cat as she patted his head. The cat gave another meow, which caused Mira to frown and scratch her small head. “Oh...yeah I forgot to wear my pin. I can’t really understand you, Lixie…”
Meanwhile, as George opened the trunk with Fred, he saw an emerald envelope sealed with the familiar Icestone crest in gold. He took a hold of it, opened it, only to see a card that had a brand’s logo that he never heard before. Princeton Perspicuous Potions. Turning the card around, he saw the familiar handwriting.
George,
For your future.
Icestone
George, getting more curious of the contents of the trunk, pierced down the trunk to see a brown briefcase. Pulling it out of the trunk, he set it on the floor and opened it. Only to be surprised to see a variety of ingredients for potion making.
The older Weasley twin then commented. “All this from Icestone? Damn, George. She’s mad. I think we shouldn’t continue on with our plan of breaking her heart anymore and just let her bring you gifts like this.”
Mira, who was gently petting Icestone’s cat in the arms of the female Weasley, snapped her head towards the direction of the older Weasley twin. Eyes about to pop out of her head as she felt shock all over her small body. The Siamese cat froze. Shocked of what has been spoken as well.
Meanwhile, the female Weasley glared at her brother, furious as to why they didn’t dropped their stupid plan yet. The cat was angry, spitting a few loud meows before hissing at the direction of the twins.
As if he was not paying attention earlier, the older twin was surprised to see the cat in his sisters arms, the fairy no longer in sight. “Where’d you get the cat, Ginny?”
“None of your business.” The youngest Weasley snapped before turning her heals away from her twin brothers.
“Feisty that little girl is.” Fred commented, shaking his head from left to right, Turning his attention back to George who was further examining the contents of the prestigious looking trunk. “What’s that?” He asked, however, getting no answer from George which made him move closer and see for himself.
“A cauldron...and gloves? Aprons too! For the two of us!” The older twin exclaimed. Inside the trunk, a medium sized black cauldron was unwrapped from emerald green silk. Unlike what the students of Hogwarts possess, the cauldron was thicker, shinier, and much more robust. Something that looked like Y/N Icestone’s own cauldron, based on what George remembers.
In another unwrapped silk, there laid four pairs of gloves. Two were made of the finest leather, brown in color, while the other two were made of rubber, plain white. Lastly, in the other silk, two brown leather aprons with a small printed “W” on the top right side were neatly folded.
George felt his heart melt. He couldn’t believe that Y/N Icestone would spend a ton of galleons just for him. Somehow, he suddenly felt guilty. Embarrassed of himself for numerous reasons. One of them for taking advantage of the elite Slytherin.
“Bloody hell, mate.” Fred, in an excited manner, was unable to prevent himself from cursing. “What did I say? Don’t break up with her just yet! Imagine the gifts she’ll-“
“Shut up, Fred!” George demanded, starting to get wrathful of his own twin.
Fred raised both his hands in surrender, backing away from George as he stood up, a serious and stern look on his face as he faced Fred. “Woah, woah! Calm down, dear brother. What has gotten into you?”
“I want to stop this, Fred.” George stated, Fred immediately understanding what he was pertaining to.
The older twin scoffed in disbelief, crossing his arms as he furrowed his brows. “This early? But she hasn’t even declared her love for you yet! I really think we should stick to our initial plan so that it could work like we planned to! How can we break her heart if you don’t even have it yet?”
“Breaking her heart would mean mine breaking too.”
Fred, still in disbelief but in a more softened tone and an open mind, looked at his twin with concern. “What do you mean, George?”
____________________
On the other side of where Fred and George stood, was the sender of the gift, Y/N Icestone in her nightgown, seated on her couch in her own quarters as she read her transfiguration book. Hearing the noise of her door opening and closing, she looked up to see her personal fairy, who looked as if she lost an intense battle. The 5th year closed her book, crossing her legs as she gave Mira a small smile, greeting her. “Mira. Glad to see that you’re back. Have you successfully delivered my gift to George?”
The fairy flew in front of Y/N’s face. This time, Y/N was able to see the troubled look on her face, as if she was having a debate inside her head. The Slytherin put her two open-palmed hands side by side, laying it in front of the fairy to motion for her to rest on it. Almost immediately, the fairy landed on top of it, kneeling as she placed her small hands on top of her thighs.
For a moment, Mira had her head laid low, before shaking it and finally giving her master an answer. “Yes, Y/N. I have. But -”
“That’s great!” Y/N exclaimed enthusiastically, drawing what she thinks was George’s reaction in her head. She imagined him glowing, his lips curled from ear to ear, probably boasting his gift in front of his own twin.
With the thought consuming her head, Y/N beamed. “Do you think he liked it?” She questioned. “You saw his reaction didn’t you? You were there when he opened it, right? You HAVE to tell me everything, Mira.” The girl added.
“Of course, Y/N. It’s wonderful! He looked really happy and thankful! Bet you my 8 sickles that he’s going to probably ask you to be his girlfriend tomorrow on your date!” Mira answered, feigning excitement before visibly frowning. The frown, however, was not seen by Y/N as she bursted up giggling for her happiness soaring, her eyes shaping into a straight line as she smiled so wide. “But I have to tell you something -” Mira, who hesitated, added.
Immediately, Y/N’s expression turned into concern, looking softly at her fairy. “Is everything okay? What is it?” She asked.
The fairy once again laid her head down, her eyes fixated on her small fingers as she played with them, fidgeting from nervousness and hesitation. Suddenly, she rose to her feet, flying towards Y/N’s closet before opening it to examine its contents. “I have the perfect outfit in mind!” She pronounced.
Y/N beamed once again. “Wonderful.”

The next day, George found himself parting with his twin at the entrance of Hogwarts castle, waiting for a certain Slytherin for their first date in Hogsmeade. There he stood in brown khaki pants and brown boots, a maroon white jumper inside a maroon winter coat, and a white beanie on top of his ginger head that matches his mittens and scarf, all hand-made, knitted by his mother. Hearing the sound of heels, he turned his head towards the sound, eyeing Y/N Icestone, who was wearing her own set of winter clothing, except it was colored in black and green. Offering his arm for Y/N to grab, the duo made their way outside, walking on the snow covered floor, heading towards the small wizarding village.
The controversial Gryffindor-Slytherin couple spent most of the day inside Zonko’s Joke Shop, George purchasing a bunch of dungbombs to replenish his personal stock, and Y/N grabbing a handful of sugar quills, one of her favorite sweets to munch on whenever the classes becomes too boring for her liking. The two were also examining the shop’s newly released products, taking some inspiration for Fred and George’s Weasleys’ Wizarding Wheezes.
A few hours later, the two felt like they needed to quench their thirst, so they headed to the Three Broomsticks, greeting Madam Rosmerta before placing two orders of butterbeer for them to enjoy.
“So…” George began.
“So…”
“I didn’t know you had a fairy...and a cat too” The ginger stated, trying to start a conversation, remembering last night’s encounter with Y/N’s fairy.
The girl raised a brow. “You...didn’t know I had a fairy? You’re not as observant as I thought. Mira always flies with me in the Slytherin table at the great hall. And a cat? My cat was literally with me when you accused me of ordering the Slytherin Quidditch team to defeat Gryffindor in a not so fair way.”
George, muttered a small “...oh” before laying his head low, embarrassed at the girl’s statement. Y/N, who immediately sensed George’s defeated state, looked at him concerned, feeling bad for not filtering her words. “You know...I can speak to Lixie.” She revealed.
The ginger looked at her, confusion written all over his face. “You...can speak to animals?!” He queried, suddenly getting interested in the topic. The girl gave a small smile before shaking her head. “Nope.” She said, popping the ‘p’. “I can speak to cats.” She added.
George placed an elbow on their table, his chin resting on the palm of his hand. “How?”
Y/N’s hand went to her neck, fumbling with something before showing George a silver chain necklace with a single diamond pendant hanging on it. The boy stared at it for a moment, before recalling what he and Fred were studying in their common room a few weeks ago.
“Icestone.” George, realizing, muttered. “That’s the Icestone mark or something, right? Of course, diamonds. Stones that looked like ice.” He worded, nodding to himself. However, trying to comprehend, he still couldn’t understand how a single necklace enables her to speak to a cat. Did all the Icestones know how to speak to cats? “I still don’t understand.” He confessed.
Still holding the necklace, Y/N pointed towards the diamond. “This, George, is the Icestone jewel. You’re actually right about that. However, I bewitched it. For it to enable me to understand what cats are trying to say. Brilliant, aren’t I?” She declared, keeping it back to the safety of her jumper as she saw their orders making its way towards them.
“You...bewitched a necklace? Honestly, how do you do that? Isn’t that advanced magic?” George asked, stunned. Y/N took her glass of butterbeer, taking a sip before answering the question.
“Well...when I was just a little girl...about 5 or 6, my mother and father hired private tutors for me to learn about magic early. You see, the Icestone family really takes academics seriously. We hold a title, and one single failure would tatter that name. That’s why they have a lot of expectations towards me...because I’m an only child...and apparently the next heir to our family’s wealth.”
“When I was 12, for my birthday in spring, I told my mother that I wanted a companion with me in Hogwarts. I think you noticed how I don’t just hang around with anybody. I’m really picky on who I make friends with...because of their true intentions. So you’re lucky, George Weasley, that I befriended you.” She added, George immediately feeling the familiar pang of guilt that he had last night when he received such luxurious gifts from the girl in front of him.
“Anyways, you know, Siamese cats often talk. They really have a lot to say! They’d tell you what they did during the day, what they’re currently feeling, and you know...stuff! And I was really frustrated that I didn’t understand Lixie. So recalling my past lessons with Mr. Princeton, my tutor, I remembered something about jewelries being encharmed and so I asked for his help and bewitched my Icestone jewel. The rest...well...is history.” Y/N said, concluding her little tale.
____________________
A few hours after continuously chit chatting at the Three Broomsticks, it was nearing sunset so the couple decided to go outside and just have fun in the snow and breathe some fresh cold air. Y/N, who was gathering snow to make large snowballs using her gloved hands, was trying to make a snowman that resembled Fred and George, planning to throw snowballs on it to tease the ginger. George, however, was the first to tease the girl, as he threw a small snowball at the girl’s face. Only, it wasn’t Y/N in a snowman form. It was really Y/N, the person.
The Slytherin gave him her signature ice cold glare, slightly scaring the boy with the look. At first, the boy didn’t take it seriously, but when the girl spoke, he felt his heart drop.
“You, George Weasley, is so gonna regret that!” The girl threatened before turning her heels from the ginger’s view, heading back to the castle.
George dropped his carved snowball, concern all over his face as he marched towards Y/N, who was stomping as she climbed the snowy hill. Thinking that Y/N must have been offended, the ginger started to plead for forgiveness. “Oh c’mon, love. I’m only jo--” The Gryffindor was unable to finish his sentence as he felt someone throwing a snowball at him from behind. Confused, he turned around, seeing nobody there.
He examined the vast space covered in white snow, looking for any signs of footprint, thinking that it could be someone he knew who was using Harry’s invisibility cloak, his own twin perhaps, but to his surprise, there was no trace at all. Suddenly, from afar, he saw a chunk of snow being lifted off the ground, carving itself into a big snowball. Narrowing his eyes to determine its cause, he was shocked to see the ball darting towards him, hitting him straight in the face.
Feeling shivers in his body from fright, with wide eyes, he turned his attention back to his date, who was on top of the hill, grinning at him as she had her wand pointed out. Realizing that it was the girl’s scheme, he felt competitive. “Hey! That’s a foul!” George called out, brushing the snow away from his face before grabbing his own wand. However, the grip he had on it loosened, as another snowball, rather a much bigger one, hit him again.
George heard the familiar sound come out of the girl’s mouth, her laugh, which only a few people have heard nor seen. He thought that he would be glad to be hit with a thousand more snowballs just to hear the angelic sound.
“Y/N Icestone!” He called, lying on the snow-covered floor due to the Slytherin’s countless and merciless snowball attacks. Y/N moved closer to him, a teasing yet innocent look plastered around her face before muttering “George Weasley.”
The sun was setting behind the girl, giving her a soft yellow glow. It illuminated her pretty doe-like eyes, shiny like honey and diamonds. Y/N’s lips were curled upwards into a small smile, the sun illuminating it as well, making it look pink and plump.
George sat up, stared at her eyes, placing a gloved hand on her cheek, leaning closer as he pulled her into him. Tension was filled in their atmosphere as their gap decreased even further, that their foreheads touched. It was as if it wasn’t 8 degrees anymore, feeling heat all over their bodies from the shared moment they’re in.
The Slytherin slowly closed her eyes, waiting for George to seal their lips together. She felt his hot breath against hers, feeling it’s warmth even more when the ginger muttered. “I fancy you, Y/N Icestone.”
The girl fluttered her eyes open, seeing the boy staring intensely at her, his eyes full of love and sincerity, his face showing a look of genuineness. Y/N gave him a wide grin, wrapping her arms around his neck, sealing the gap between them after muttering “I fancy you.”

The Right One - F.W
Masterlist, Requesting Rules, Writing Prompts
Fred Weasley x Fem Reader
Prompt 31: “What made you think we were serious?” he spat “did you really think I’d go out with you?”
Requested/About: Fred is in love with his friend Y/N and knows he wants to marry her one day, he makes and move and they are looking forward to going on their first date - but all of that changes when George confesses his feelings for Y/N, to Fred.
A/N: I have a second part to this imagine which is smut based which you can now read: here
Warnings: swearing, mention of food and eating, a cheeky kiss towards the end.
Sitting high up in the stands, you’re watching Fred practice Quidditch, your heart skipping beats each time he flashes you a smirk or a cheeky wink, everything he does make you want him more - whether it be making a pig's ear of a potion, coming up with a new prank, chatting to his brother - hell, he simply breathes and you’re amazed.
Fred is head over heels for you, he already knows he’s going to marry you and whilst everyone is fast asleep at night, he goes over the plan in his head a thousand times making sure that when the day comes, everything will go perfectly to plan.
Unfortunately, the two of you were quite stubborn when it came to making the first move - you were too shy and scared of being rejected, and Fred felt anxious about making you uncomfortable - you were both trapped in the awkward ‘friends but too close to be friends but flirting but not dating’ phase - you not only confused yourselves but those around you who were aware of your chemistry.
The practice came towards an end and you walked down from the stands, your eyes glued on Fred, his veins bursting through his sweaty and dirt-stained hands, his hair standing up in all directions and sticking to his forehead, you smirked and giggled at the sight of him.
“How was it?” you smiled, walking towards him.
Fred paused for a moment, catching his breath and leaning on his broom “not bad” he panted “Slytherin are going to suffer”
You chuckled and brushed the hair out of his eyes, he had a questioning look on his face for a moment.
“Y/N” he said softly “d’you fancy going to Hogsmeade this Saturday, on a date?” he asked you, looking slightly nervous.
You felt as if time slowed down, that everyone else on the pitch had disappeared and you and Fred were the only ones there, instant excitement pooled in your tummy causing butterflies to sprout and take flight.
“I would love to” you smiled widely, blushing and nodding your head “yes!”
Fred smiled just as wide and nodded, pursing his lips and breaking out into another smile “brilliant” he nodded “I’ll meet you outside Zonko’s”
His twin George came rushing over, just as sweaty and dirty, he smiled nervously when your eyes met his, you didn’t think anything of it - George was always more quiet compared to Fred.
“Angelina wants a word” he panted “something about Ron needing extra practice”
Fred sighed and rolled his eyes, “see you later, love” he waved, turning around and following his brother.
“I have a date” you whispered excitedly to yourself “with Freddie!”
Hurrying off, you ran towards the castle, breaking inside and pushing through students and stumbling up the stairs to reach your dorm room, your date only two days away - you needed as much time as you could get to plan what you would say and what you could wear.
It was now Friday evening, tomorrow you would be on a date with Fred and just the thought made you giggle and blush, you told your friends who were just as excited, giving you all the advice you needed for one of the best days of your life. Laying in your bed, you stared out of the window, you were so excited you didn’t know if you were able to sleep.
Fred and George were sitting in front of the fire in the quiet and empty common room, coming up with ideas for their dream joke shop, but Fred noticed that George wasn’t being himself - he kept losing concentration and staring off into space, getting lost in his own thoughts.
“You okay Georgie?” Fred asked, staring at his brother.
George sighed, looking more anxious “if I tell you something, will you promise not to tell anyone?”
“I’m your bloody twin” Fred responded, sitting up in his chair and leaning towards George “of course I won’t say anything”
George swallowed hard for a moment and nodded, trying to figure out how to say this without Fred taking the piss out of him.
“You know Y/N?” George spoke up.
Fred’s heart started to pick up in speed, his attention fully on his twin “yeah, what about her?”
Fred didn’t mention you to George at all, George knew the two of you were close friends but he didn’t see the moments between the two of you that everyone said: “screamed chemistry”.
“I’ve got feelings for her, Freddie.” George confessed, looking away from Fred and staring at his shoes “I just didn’t want to say anything because I know she’s your friend.”
Friend
Fred felt the excitement crush inside him, part of him wanted to stop George in his tracks and tell him that you were going on a date with him tomorrow, but the other part of Fred dominated him - Fred would rather choose the happiness of his brother, who was more shy and quiet, than his own - the twin who had everything he ever wanted.
Almost everything.
“That’s great, Georgie” Fred forced a smile whilst his heart wept “she’s a really nice girl, I don’t blame you.”
A really nice girl that Fred would crush instead of letting her down gently. Fred went to bed and for the first time he didn’t bother going through the plans of the future proposal, then wedding, instead he tortured himself over George being the one to put the ring on your finger, making you his wife. He hid his face in his pillow and cried, knowing how bad he was going to mess things up, but as long as George was happy - that’s all that mattered to him, and he felt sure that you would move on and be much happier with the other twin.
“Ready?” your friend Alyssa smiled, looking you over once more.
You nodded and blushed again “I’m ready, just really nervous!”
Alyssa chuckled and handed you your bag “You’re bound to be nervous, but you’ll be okay, this is exciting!”
You took your bag from her and slung it over your shoulder “thank you for everything Alyssa” you pulled her into a tight hug, making sure you didn’t ruin your makeup or hair.
“Tell me all about it when you get back!” he ordered excitedly, pulling away from the hug and sending you on your way.
Arriving in Hogsmeade, you hurried over to Zonko’s Joke Shop, because you arrived early you had enough time to sneak into the shop and buy Fred some Hiccough sweets and Sugar Quills. Carrying the bag of Fred’s goodies, you waited outside for him.
Five minutes passed, then ten, then you reached one hour.
You felt your heart sink, worries and ‘what if’ scenarios filled your head and drowned out the noise of laughing students that passed by. Reaching three hours, it became clear to you that Fred wasn’t going to show up, tears filled your eyes and made your vision glassy, overflowing and running down your cold cheeks.
Storming back to the castle you stared at the ground, refusing to look up at anyone or anything, you sobbed and clutched onto the Zonko's bag so hard your hand started to cramp and your knuckles went white.
‘How could I be so stupid?’ you thought to yourself ‘I got myself dressed up in my best dress for nothing, waited outside looking like a fool while he’s probably laughing himself silly.’
But Fred wasn’t laughing himself silly at all, he didn’t get out of bed unless he needed to brush his teeth or go to the toilet, he refused to speak to George, Lee and Angelina. He curled up under his covers with tears falling down his face, his wand emitting light whilst he watched your footsteps on the Marauders Map, guilt surging through his body like poison when your footsteps stayed still and finally took off after hours of waiting.
Bursting into your dorm room Alyssa’s smile dropped and concern plastered on her face - your mascara and eyeliner streaked down your face from crying, your lips red and puffy like your eyes.
“Y/N! what's wrong? what happened?” she panicked, hurrying over to you.
You threw your shoulder bag on the floor, turning around you bumped into Alyssa and pushed the Zonko’s bag into her chest.
“He never showed up!” you wailed, storming into the bathroom and slamming the door behind you.
You dragged the warm wet rag over your face, wiping off your make up with so much force your skin got irritated and red, you stared at yourself in the mirror, hating your reflection, hating the dress you were so excited to put on hours before.
Alyssa knocked on the door, she didn’t want to pry and press you for answers, instead, she handed you your clean pyjamas and took your dress to put away, she walked into the bathroom when you opened the door, pulling you into a comforting hug whilst you sobbed in her arms.
Like Fred, you refused to leave your bed all weekend, you refused to speak about what happened. Perhaps you waited in the wrong place, perhaps he meant another week, you tried to convince yourself that this was your fault, that you got things wrong - but deep down you knew this wasn’t your doing, but Fred’s.
Sunday evening rolled around and Alyssa walked back into the dorm with a bag full of food, she sat on the side of your bed and opened up the bag full of your favourite puddings and drinks.
“The house-elves encouraged me to take as much as I could fit in this bag” she laughed lightly “please eat something sweetheart, it doesn’t have to be much”
You nodded and sat up in your bed, giving in you drank your pumpkin juice and had a few slices of Apple Pie.
Monday morning you were up early and out of bed, trying to be as fresh as a daisy as you could - everything was going well until you had double potions with Fred. You planned to ignore him, play it as if you didn’t care and that the loss was his, but your thoughts and needs for answers clawed at you until you couldn’t take it anymore.
“Have a good weekend, then?” you asked Fred bravely, watching your cauldron simmer.
“No comment” he replied, refusing to look at you, trimming his ingredients.
“Why did you stand me up?” you asked again, gaining more courage “think it would be funny?”
“No comment” Fred answered again, adding the ingredients to his cauldron, causing it to hiss and change from dark green to bright red.
You began to lose your patience but you didn’t give up, opening your mouth and asking Fred once more why he didn’t show up on Saturday made his guilt surge through his heart so painfully he didn’t know how to handle himself except lash out at you.
“What made you think we were serious?” he spat “did you really think I’d go out with you?”
Hearing his brothers outburst, George looked over to you and Fred, he had no idea what was going on but he had to do something - seeing you so hurt and upset made George feel sick.
You weren’t prepared for such a hard blow, you felt as if you had been slapped in the face and punched in the chest, you didn’t reply - you just stared at Fred with your jaw hanging, the tears you were controlling so well broke through and filled your eyes.
Fred’s heart broke even more at your reaction, he had broken the person he loved more than anything in the world and it would be too late now to make things right, to have you give him a chance to explain - but at least now he had given George a chance to play hero and pick up those broken pieces of your own heart to fix them the best he could.
You quickly took a sample of your potion and handed it to Snape, storming back to your desk, you picked up your bag and hurried out of the dungeons, breaking out into a sob - your wails so loud the class could still hear you.
George left his cauldron to overflow, running after you and calling out your name down the halls before he finally caught up to you. He pulled you into a comforting hug and you cried into his chest, gripping onto his warm woolly jumper.
“I wish it was you George” you cried “I really do, if it was I wouldn’t be in this bloody awful situation”
It dawned on George that this definitely had something to do with Fred and when he told him about his feeling for you. Sitting back in the same chairs in front of the fire in the empty common room before bed, George turned to Fred and searched his dull eyes.
“Do you like Y/N?” George asked quietly.
Fred shook his head “no”
George sighed and continued to stare at his brother “look at me, Freddie”
George knew that his brother couldn’t lie to his face and he knew by doing this he would get the right answers he needed.
“Are you in love with her?”
Fred paused and tried to lie but he couldn’t do it - he looked towards the dancing flames.
George finally understood and stood up “that’s what I thought” he stood behind his chair, wanting to know one more thing before he went off to bed “what happened between you and Y/N, you being grumpy all weekend and her being upset - does that have anything to do with what I told you last week?”
Fred put his head in his hands and nodded, George shook his head and sighed “that's what I thought, you should’ve bloody told me.”
George left the common room and went upstairs to bed, leaving his brother alone in his thoughts. Climbing in his bed, George knew exactly what to do in the morning.
George looked for you everywhere, you weren’t in the great hall for breakfast and you didn’t show up to any of your classes either, passing Alyssa he pulled her aside, asking where you were.
“the second floor, girls bathroom” she replied “and here” she rooted in her bag, pulling out the Zonko’s bag “give this to your brother when you see him, she got it him before he stood her up.”
George took the bag and thanked Alyssa, hurrying as fast as he could to reach you.
Sitting on the floor of the dingy toilets, you continued to sob in your hands, pressing them against your eyes that you could see confetti in your vision. Hearing footsteps coming closer to you, you removed your hands away from your face and opened your eyes, looking up at George standing over you.
George crouched beside you and began to rub your back, comforting you; he sighed deeply and knew it was time to tell you everything, the truth.
“I’ve got feelings for you, Y/N” he confessed softly.
This only made you feel worse, you lost Fred - someone you actually want to be with, and his brother who you care for is in love with you, you would rather sit your O.W.Ls all over again with your N.E.W.T.s at the same time than go through this.
You turned to face George, a look of shock and horror all over your face “George! You know this isn't the right time to tell me and if Fred-” you paused for a moment, feeling sick to your stomach.
“Does Fred know?” you asked quietly, looking at George.
George nodded “I told him on Friday after that Fred just went into a foul mood and you’ve been upset. He’s in love with you, Y/N, and I know you love him too.”
You stared at George, your mouth wide open, unable to process what you heard.
“He put my own happiness before his” George laughed and shook his head, pulling you into a tight hug, he smirks at you “He’s in his dorm room, go to your man” he encouraged you, handing you the Zonko’s Bag.
Feeling those same butterflies form and take flight inside of you once more, you hurried to Fred’s room, the biggest smile plastered on your face, which caught everyone’s attention, causing them to feel happy and talk amongst one another about you and Fred finally being on the same page.
Storming into Fred’s room, he walked out of the bathroom in nothing but a towel loosely covering his lower half at the hips, stopping in your tracks you stared at him, taking in the beauty of his body; the water droplets across his abs and the steam rising off his chest and shoulders, his damp hair and the sun beaming through the window highlighting your favourite parts of him.
Fred went into shock and gripped onto his towel harder, you flash him a small, nervous smile and place the Zonko’s bag on his bedside table.
“Y/N, what are you doing here?” he asked shyly as you walked over to him.
Placing your hands gently against Fred’s cheeks, you leaned in slowly and pressed your lips against his. Kissing back, Fred deepened the kiss and dragged his tongue against your lower lip, both of his hands took you by the waist, completely forgetting about his towel, it fell to the floor.

Cry For Me | George Weasley x Reader

Chapter 1 - Pilot
Words: 4.4k
Warnings: pranking, intimidation, suspicion.
____________________
Square one.
It all started with the Weasley twins scheming the next prank they’re about to pull. With the house of Slytherin always messing with innocent Gryffindors who do nothing but mind their own business, they think it’s justifiable to give Slytherins a taste of their own medicine.
The twins head to their transfiguration class earlier than usual with the room yet to be filled with wizards and witches from different houses. In each desk, they lay out handwritten letters enclosed in an envelope sealed with a “W” that invited the students of the wizarding school to the party they’d be hosting for the holidays. Everyone was invited. Well, except for Malfoy...and most of the Slytherins. That is why the letters laid out in the desks of uninvited Slytherins were special parchment that forms a rather annoying face that sticks its tongue out. Not for Malfoy though. The twins think that Malfoy deserves something even special for not being so nice towards their friend Harry.
McGonagall’s classroom eventually became more and more crowded as students came rushing in for their class. As soon as they enter, they’d be confused as to why their fellow classmates were jumping out of joy. Opening up their letters, a lot became ecstatic with the fact that they were invited to the party held by the Weasley twins. I mean, who wouldn’t? It’s the Weasleys we’re talking about here. The famous Weasleys who turned the boring halls of Hogwarts brighter.
Students from the Slytherin house weren’t really bothered with the empty invitation. Not that they would bother to even come if they were invited. They despised Gryffindors and their loud and wild antics.
Fred and George were casually doodling on their parchment about how they would prepare for the party. Stealing biscuits from the kitchens, snucking firewhiskeys, karaoke, and a special launch for their latest product. Too occupied with their little bubble, the thought of humiliating a certain platinum blonde who goes by the name Malfoy has slipped their ginger heads. It was not until a small shriek coming from what they thought was Malfoy’s desk enveloped the transfiguration classroom.
Looking over to the owner of the voice, Fred and George’s face gave off a very confused look as to why the figure had long lustrous hair instead of over gelled blonde ones.
“I thought you said that you were sure that was Malfoy’s desk?” George whispered to Fred. “I said I think, not that I was sure. But by the looks of it, at least it was a Slytherin and not a poor Hufflepuff.” Fred whispered back before putting his left and right hand against his mouth to yell  “Hey little snake! We thought you needed a shower. You stink!” in an attempt to further tease the Slytherin. This made George and the rest of the class laugh in hysterics. Everyone in class except for those sorted in Slytherin and the house of Hufflepuff. The house full of ambition and cunningness weren’t having it. They were in disbelief, in shock, and furious. The house with the designated color yellow was quiet. Fear in their little eyes feigning no absence.
When the soaking girl finally faced the twins with cold and icy glares shooting towards the gingers, the teasing look on Fred and George’s face remained. It was until Lee Jordan nudged them and whispered “you guys are so dead.” with a shaking voice. George raised his brows, a questioning look present on his face. “Why? Is she gonna call her daddy just like what Malfoy does?” Fred gushed, earning a chuckle from his twin and a smack at the back of his head from Lee. “No, dimwit. Don’t you know who she is? You messed with the wrong Slytherin, mate. That’s Y/N Icestone!” Lee stated, giving another smacking on his best friend’s head, one by one.
The Gryffindor was about to say another word until the victim of the prank spoke. “Clean this up.” Y/N Icestone sassed, crossing her arms. With her being closer to the twins, they were able to examine her from head to toe. A hairband made of emerald colored silk on top of her head, cold pupils resided in her eyes who still shot daggers towards them, a cardigan of greater quality inside her soaking Slytherin robes, black socks in fine leather shoes, and a small single diamond necklace in her neck.
George looked up to her and smirked “No can do, sweetheart. It's not because you are covered with the finest of things that you can just order students around. Might have worked for others, but it won’t work for me, love.” He argued.
While other Slytherins would have already hexed the Gryffindor for saying this to their face, George was surprised to see the forming smirk on Icestone’s face.
With a swift flick of her wand, the twins were suddenly looking up to her from her shoes, causing confusion to erupt in the identical faces. Being more confused as to why the soaking Slytherin girl suddenly became a giant, they looked at each other, frightened to see how they both turned into two little ginger cats standing on their little paws.
“Blimey, Fred! You became a cat! She transfigured you!” George exclaimed.
“Mate. you too! What do we do? I can’t seem to find my wand, let alone have my grip on it.” Fred gulped, panicking.
“Aww what do we have here? Two little kitties” a boy from the Slytherin house said in a teasing tone, earning a laugh from the Slytherin house.
Y/N bent down to reach the twins, petting both of their heads. “there, there, weasels, it will wear off a few hours, no need to worry.” Right as she stood up, she snapped her fingers three times resulting in a little fairy immediately flying in her direction. “Mira, go get me a new robe will you? Mine just got messed up by two twats.” She ordered, walking away and going back to her seat.
The shocked Weasley twins in cat form stood there for a moment before giving a small hiss and running out of the classroom.
____________________
A few hours after the incident in McGonagall’s classroom, the twins were finally back to their normal form however, still sulky about the Slytherin girl.
“Merlin! Who does she think she is?” George grunted, slamming his tall frame into a couch located in the Gryffindor common room. “A spoiled brat, I tell ya. She acts as if she owns the whole universe!” Fred exclaimed.
More and more whines keep coming out of the twin’s mouth until their bubble bursted as their best friend Lee enters the room. Heading towards the twin towers, he rambled about the girl of the night. “I cannot believe you pranked THE Y/N Icestone. You twins are really something else. It takes big guts to talk to her, let alone prank her!” He began, earning a confused and questioning look from the twins.
“What’s with you saying that again? Who is she anyways? It’s not like she’s a princess or something of royalty.” George stated like it was nothing, earning a smack in the head.
“Oi! What was that for? Why do you keep on doing that?”
“How can you not know who Y/N Icestone is? The one and only daughter of John Icestone, who was one of the greatest wizards Slytherin has ever had? He even ranks higher than senior Malfoy! And Y/N...they call her the Slytherin queen! If Draco’s the prince, she’s the queen! You should have known better, mate.” Lee pointed out, an unamused look on his face.
“The Slytherin queen, ey? Looks like we hit the jackpot, George. We were aiming for the prince but we got the queen!” Fred insisted, satisfaction in his voice.
“Yeah, but she’s even worse than Malfoy. Malfoy would have walked away. She turned us into cats!” Answered George. “But I must admit, Georgie. You looked cute with the little ears on top of your head.” Fred teased, ruffling the younger twin’s locks.
“Oh yeah? But your little bum was cuter” George clapped back, earning a shove from his twin.
____________________
Meanwhile, Icestone was spotted sitting in one of the fine leather couches in the Slytherin dungeons. Too immersed in the book that resided in her hands to pay attention to the confused and curious eyes that shot towards her. It is rather a rare sight to spot the queen in public after supper hours afterall.
A group of 3rd years entered the common room rather too loudly for Y/N’s liking. They were blabbering about the latest school gossip, as if their lives depended on it. Y/N Icestone was not really fond of those as she already had experienced her own share of nasty flying rumors that went out of the place. Honestly, why can’t other people just mind their own business?
Rolling her eyes and attempting to turn her attention from the book she was reading, the thought of scolding the young Slytherins was put into a halt as she heard the hot topic of the group.
“I cannot believe that the Weasley twins had the nerve to bother Y/N Icestone. It’s like a death wish, really.” Big mouth number 1 growled, annoyance in her voice as she recalled the way she saw her idol’s shocked and soaking face as a result of the twin’s shenanigans. Big mouth number 2 gasped, her hands making its way to her mouth.
“Bloody hell! Are you serious? What’s up with that house, really? They disrespect Malfoy and now they’re disrespecting Icestone too!”
“I heard they bothered Malfoy the other day because he was being mean to Harry. But Icestone...Merlin! She didn’t even do anything! None that I know...but she doesn’t really meddle with those stupid Gryffs!”  Big mouth 3 insisted, causing more shock to run into the face of number 2.
“But you know what’s even more shocking? They didn’t know who she was!” Number 1 ranted, earning another gasp from number 2.
Before another word was spattered, a slam from a hardbound book enveloped the Slytherin common room, forcing silence and frightened eyes to look at the retrieving figure, as she made her way in the comfort of her room.

The morning after, Y/N Icestone was spotted in the tables of the Slytherin house. He fairy flying beside her as she read through her mother’s letter while drinking her hot English tea.
It was not long until the great hall was filled with starving wizards and witches, blissful to start another day with a feast. No one really dared to sit beside the Slytherin girl but the only witch she considers her friend, which was still out of sight. Probably had another snog fest last night. Icestone thought.
Finally keeping her mother’s letter in her robes, she reached out to dig a muffin before being interrupted by the group of big mouths from last night, who sat across from her, their heads hanging low. She felt the familiar piercing eyes at all parts of her head which led her to roll her eyes and give off an icy stare.
Managing to push the attention of the eavesdropping students, this made the girls in front of her whimper, their heads hanging even lower. “Y/N-- I mean, Ms. Icestone. We sincerely apologize for last night. We weren’t being careful with our words. We we’re just concerned and --” As big mouth number 1 started reciting her apology, two tall gingers followed by their younger brother, Potter, and Granger, entered the hall significantly brightly, a cheerful look on their face as they laughed about who knows what.
This caught the attention of the crossed armed Slytherin, smirking before facing the group of girls seated in front of her. “Tell me your names.” The 5th year demanded.
“My apologies, Ms. Icestone. My name is Celeste. This is Ares and this one is Aria.” Big mouth number 1 croaked, pointing to big mouth 2 and 3 as she introduced themselves.
“Well, then girls. Are you aware of the consequences of having such big mouths?” Icestone sputtered, further intimidating the trio.
“No, Ms. Icestone.” The girls answered simultaneously.
Y/N grabbed a red apple, observing the fruit before changing the smirk on her face into a sly smile.
“They are forced to have apples shoved in their mouths.” She hissed, causing shivers to run down the spines of the young Slytherins. “but I’m not gonna do that.” She continued.
“As long as you keep whatever is about to be spoken right at this instant. Understand?”
“Yes, Ms. Icestone.”
As if nothing had happened, the girl with a diamond in her neck had an astonishing innocent smile plastered around her face.
“Tell me everything you know about the Weasley twins.”

For the time being, The Weasley twins together with the Golden trio and their sister, Ginny, was stuffing their stomachs with the breakfast laid out at the Gryffindor table. They were having a good laugh with Fred teasing Ron for his not-so-secret crush towards the smartest witch, who rolled her eyes in an attempt to hide her blossoming smile and rosy cheeks.
The younger twin’s stomach was aching from the never ending laugh he had been spurting out until he was forced to leave their happy bubble as he felt a small hand tapping his shoulder.
Turning to face the owner of the touch, he was shocked and confused as to why Y/N Icestone was standing in front of him with a small smile displayed in her face.
He frowned, opening his mouth to mewl before being cut off. “Nice to see you’re back to your normal form now, right George?” She suggested, her cat-like eyes wide, an innocent expression and tone in her voice.
Fred became conscious of how his twin’s attention was transported to somewhere else which resulted in Icestone to face both the Weasley twins instead of George alone.
“Oh, hey there, Fred! Having a good morning?”
“What are you doing here?” George interrogated, clearly displaying his annoyance towards the Slytherin. Icestone feigned a frown. “Not so nice to see me huh? You’re breaking my heart, sweetheart.” She said, putting her hands in her chest.
“What do you want, Icestone?” Fred grudged.
“Me? Oh, nothing much. Just your twin brother” She admitted, her shoulders shrugging like it was nothing.
“Anyways, I gotta go. I still have to fetch my books from my quarters. But it was really nice seeing you Fred! And of course, Georgie.” She mused before pressing a small kiss in George’s cheeks and walking away from the Gryffindor table, leaving the younger Weasley twin flustered, cheeks as fiery as his hair.
Gasps and shrieks across the great hall were heard after the stunt the Slytherin queen has pulled. The kiss that planted on George Weasley’s cheek caused Ron to spat out his orange juice earning a disgusted look on Hermione and Harry’s face, stone cold glares from the Slytherin house shooting towards the Gryffindors, young Hufflepuffs who had their hearts beating for the said twin shattering, and Ravenclaws who were just in complete disbelief.
For a moment, the older twin was just as shocked as George until he snapped out of it, deciding to tease his twin.
“Look what we have here. It seems like the Slytherin queen developed a liking for this little Gryffindor bloke.” He suggested, shoving George’s shoulder and ruffling his hair.
“Shut up, Fred! She only wants to get back at us for pranking her yesterday.” George answered, his eyebrows meeting in the middle of his forehead as he crossed his arms.
Fred gave a little pat on his brother’s shoulder before saying “There, there, it’s okay, mate! You are free to fancy whoever! You’re my brother! I’d support you! Better just watch out for mum though. She’d be mad!” which earned him a smack at the back of his head from his twin.

Some time during the day, as Fred and George make their way to class, talking about their next prank, of course, they felt something -- or more like someone -- squish in between them, locking both their arms to the Weasley twins.
“Look what we have here, my favorite ginger boys. I see that you’re on the way to class, huh?” She said, a smile on her face as she looked ahead. The twins shake their arms away from the Slytherin and look at her questioningly.
“What do you want Icestone? Here to turn us into cats again?” An annoying tone in the older twin’s voice as he sighed, clearly not wanting to bump into her again.
“That would be cute, but where’s the fun in that? I really wanted to hang out with you guys afterall.” Icestone casually said.
“But why?” George asked. The girl shrugged, her smile not faltering as she looked up at George “Nothing, I just want to see you.” She insisted, causing Fred to snort and George to roll his eyes.
“Why would you, out of all people, would want to hang with me and Fred?” George interrogated. “You’re a Slytherin! The Slytherin queen, like what they say. You don’t just hang out with Gryffindors. Weasley Gryffindors, if I might add.” He continued which now made Y/N roll her eyes.
“Slytherin queen?” She scoffed. “In that case, I think I can do whatever I please, don’t you think.” She stated as her right eyebrow raised.
“But why?” Fred questioned, still confused. Y/N sighed, stopping in her tracks and facing the twin towers.
“Look, I get that you guys are being suspicious of me but trust me! I have nothing going on. After the prank you pulled on me and both of you acting like it wasn’t a big deal, I was shocked, okay? No one really dares to go near me, let alone do something like that.”
“So you’re saying, you want to be friends with us?” George asked. Y/N nodded, turning her heels and walking away, leaving the twins dumbfounded.
George looked at Fred and Fred did the same. The twins having their non-verbal twin communication that nobody really understands but the two of them.
“Well, are you coming? We’re about to be late!” Y/N called.
____________________
The following weeks gain even more suspicion from the Weasley Twins. Whichever hall they were striding, the Slytherin girl would suddenly pop in between them, locking her arms in theirs as if they were the best of friends. At first, the trio were given weird and confused looks especially those from the Slytherin house.
What was Y/N Icestone doing hanging out with the Weasley twins? Icestone would always look in their way and raise a brow which results in the prying eyes to look somewhere else and continue whatever the hell they were doing. The suspicion from the said house eventually stopped after a few days, thinking it was a scheme Y/N was up to as revenge. This thought, however, managed to stick up in the heads of the ginger towers. Why the hell would Y/N Icestone hangout with them?
“I don’t know, Fred. Something is up and I really want to find out.” George shook his head, still curious as to why the girl has been following them. Fred crossed his arms. “The Slytherins must be up to something. Or maybe she’s trying to get back at us for that prank! I mean, it’s not supposed to be for her, it was for Malfoy! I swore I knew that desk belonged to Malfoy.” He rambled, looking down at his hands until an idea popped out his head.
He smirked. “Or maybe~” He sang. “The girl fancies little Georgie here!” The older twin made his place on top of the small coffee table placed in front of the fireplace, chanting “Georgie and Y/N sitting on a tree, K-I-S-S-I-- Ow! What was that for?” Fred whined from the floor, rubbing his back as George shoved him off the table.
“That, was for you to shut up.” The younger twin spat.
Before Fred was able to scold his brother, a green paper plane flew inside the Gryffindor common room, flying from corner to corner until it stopped right before the younger twin’s face.
Lifting his hands to grab it, the plane suddenly exploded, a little paper man using the black parchment, that was formerly residing in the paper plane, as his parachute.
When it reached the feet of George, the little man neatly folded the parchment, bowing to the younger Weasley twin before kneeling to present the letter as if it was a sword being handed to a knight. When George bent down to grab it, the little man poofed, exploding into green and silver confetti, leaving a small mess. George looked up at the letter and saw a fancy handwriting of his name in gold ink.
George,
How’d you like my little trick? Pretty cool, huh?
Bet that’s a little better than splashing water on my face, don’t you think?
Watch out for the main event.
Icestone
A second after George read the last few words on the black parchment, he felt something sticky in his face, causing a hysteric laugh from his twin.
“I didn’t know you were THAT hungry, Georgie. I could have gotten you pie in the kitchens. No need to shove it in your face, you starving bloke!”
George sighed, swiping his hands on his face before slapping his twin with it. “Oh, sorry Freddie. I thought you were hungry too.”

As Y/N entered the Slytherin dungeons, she was immediately met by her fairy, Mira. She gave a small smile.
“Hey, Mira. How are you?” She asked as she strides towards her room. “I’m doing quite well, Ms. Icestone. I have managed to prepare your sleepwear, prepare your uniform for tomorrow, and prepare your desk for school work! Should I prepare your bath as well? I should -” Mira stopped when she saw Y/N looking at her sympathetically.
“How many times do I have to tell you to call me Y/N? No need for the formalities! Mother is not even here.” She said, placing her wand in her dresser and removing her robes.
She felt a purr in her feet as her furry friend made his way towards her. “Hello there, Lixie. Miss me?” She asked, bending down to pet the cat’s head. “I certainly did, Y/N. You’ve been away much for often these past few days. You have to make it up to me!” He meowed.
She pulled him up in her arms, cuddling him, and cooed. “Aww how can I make up to little Lixie then?” Her cat jumped out from her grip, slightly irritated from the skinship before suggesting “Bring me to the next Slytherin quidditch match!” causing Y/N to smile.
“Okay, then. It’s a deal. Now, are you hungry?”
“Certainly am!” Lixie said, resulting in Y/N to face her fairy. “You heard him.”
Mira looked down at her feet, fidgeting with her little fingers. “But Ms. Ice- I mean, Y/N. I’m sorry but I don’t understand cats like you do. All I heard was meowing and -- I’m so sorry. I get that you might want to replace me. I’m new and I don’t think I have satisfied you and --” She rambled on before being cut off by Y/N pulling her in her chest.
“Shush now, Mira. It’s alright. It must have slipped my mind. Thank you so much for your hard work. Lixie here says he’s famished. Prepare him his milk would you, please? I’m just gonna go take a warm bath.”
As Icestone changed into her silk pajama robes, a small and quiet knock was heard from her door. Mira rushed to it, greeting the intruder of the hour. “Oh, hello Daphne. Here to see Y/N?” She asked, earning a small nod from the Slytherin.
Mira expanded the opening of the door even more, letting the girl in. Y/N looked at her, a small smile in her face. “Hello there, Daphne. Long time no see. You must have enjoyed the snog fest that you have been having?” She suggested, a teasing tone in her voice causing the girl to blush before taking her place beside Icestone.
The girl is Y/N’s only true friend from the Slytherin house. During their first years, both sat together in the same compartment in the express. Y/N introduced herself using only her first name, scared to potentially scare off students with the power she had with her last name. After the sorting hat called her full name and house, she was happy that Daphne hadn't ran away.
“Y/N Icestone, Slytherin!” The sorting hat shouted, causing cheers from the Slytherin house and murmurs to arise from the other. Sitting beside Daphne at the Slytherin table, she smiled. “Glad we’re in the same house, Daphne.”
“I didn’t know John Icestone’s daughter is in this year? Better not mess with her or else you’d turn to ice” Y/N heard a teasing voice coming from the Ravenclaw house. Shrugging it off, Daphne gave a bright smile, locking her arms with the girl. “Me too! We’re gonna have so much fun!”
Daphne crossed her arms, raising a brow at her friend. “Well, then what about you? You haven’t been hanging out with me anymore. I heard you’re always behind the Weasleys these past few days. Honestly, what is your deal?” Y/N just shrugged at her friend.
“Nothing really, I’m just messing with them.” She defended, giving a bright smile towards her friend. The interrogating look on Greengrass’ face however, did not falter.
“You’re not actually in love with one of them are you?” She questioned, resulting Y/N to snort and make a funny face, something she doesn’t really do when out in public.
“Me? In love with a Gryffindor? Are you mad, Daph?” She exclaimed. “I’m just messing with them for that incident in transfiguration a few weeks ago.”
“Okay, but you already turned them into cats! What more do you want?” Her friend asked. Y/N sighed. “Daphne, you’re taking this too seriously. I told you, I’m just messing with them. I’m sorry I haven’t been spending time with you. I’ll make it up to you, I promise! How about a little shopping spree at the next trip to Hogsmeade?” She proposed, causing Daphne to give her a bright smile.
“It’s a deal, Icestone! But you have to tell me what you’re planning on doing with the twins. Spill all the details!”

Chapter 2 - Love or Hatred
Words: 5.3k
Warnings: fighting, arguments, scheming, angst

You don’t know me
Oh great George muttered sarcastically, to no one in particular, standing up from he and Fred’s potions table to sit next to his partner but not before shoving Fred for poking his sides to tease him.
“Have fun, Georgie~!” Fred sang, earning a glare from the younger twin. As George made his place next to the Slytherin that managed to bother him every single day, he huffed.
“Hey, Georgie, what’s up?” Y/N asked, an amusing smile plastered around her face. “The sky.” He answered, causing Icestone to feign a quiet laugh. “Well, you aren’t wrong.”
There was a moment of silence between the partners as Snape went on with his class, muttering about what to do and what not to do. For the first time since forever, the tall ginger actually paid attention. His eyes looking at nothing but his parchment, a hand on his quill as he messily tried to write a transcript of what the potions master was blabbering. The faster we finish this potion, the faster I can get away from Icestone He thought.
After what seemed like an eternity, George stood up from his seat to gather the ingredients, leaving his partner to set up the cauldron.
There was a bit of awkward silence between the Gryffindor and the Slytherin, too focused on working with the potion, until Y/N decided to break it.
“I heard next week’s match would be Slytherin vs Gryffindor. Ready to lose Weasley?” She teasingly said, earning a grunt from George.
The boy laid the Chinese Chomping Cabbage on their shared desk, an ingredient of the Skele-Gro potion, in preparation for the mentioned school game. “Lose? Even if Gryffindor loses, we all know that it would be because of Slytherin’s foul play and not our lack of skills, thank you very much.”
Y/N raised her brows, going up in her tiptoes to reach the ginger’s ears. “I must admit you’re right though. No one can play quidditch like you.” She whispered, making the Gryffindor flustered.
“Quit it, will you?” He deadpanned, earning wide doe eyes from the Slytherin who feigned an innocent look. “Quit what?” She asked.
George sighed, his hands resting on his hips as he turned to face the girl. “Why are you always flirting with me? Trust me, Icestone. You’re a pretty witch but I don’t see myself having a relationship with a Slytherin.”
Silence fell over the pair’s shared potions table. There Y/N Icestone stood. Speechless, frozen, and in disbelief. The ginger took a notice in this, observing the Slytherin before coming into a reasonable conclusion. “Don’t tell me --”
“You must be sick in the head if you think that I fancy you, Weasley.” Icestone cut off, finally giving her attention back into the cauldron sat in front of her, keeping herself busy in an attempt to brush the topic off.
George crossed his arms. “Then why are you flirting with me? You don’t do that to Fred. You don’t do that with other guys!”
Y/N shrugged.
____________________
The day went by nonchalantly with Y/N Icestone, the Weasley twins, and the rest of the students of the wizarding school going through their own agenda. The Weasley twins being unusually M.I.A which only means that they were planning their next mischief or they were busy practicing for the upcoming quidditch game. Most likely the latter one. Due to this, it was not until supper time at the great hall when Y/N saw the Gryffindor gingers again.
“Hey George. Hey Fred.” Y/N said, looking at George and Fred respectively, squishing in between the twins as they made their way to the great hall.
“He’s not George, I am!” Fred exclaimed, his arms crossing causing Y/N to raise her brows, stepping closer to Fred as she had one hand around the older twin’s arm, threatening to pinch his freckled skin.
“You can’t fool me, Weasley.”
“But I am Fred...” George muttered, Y/N giving her signature ice cold stare towards the twins, causing them to whimper.
“Alright, alright, I am Fred.” Fred finally says, shivers in his spine from the look the Slytherin just gave them. “You are one scary woman.” Y/N smiled innocently.
“How do you manage to tell us apart?” George asked. “Even our own mother gets us confused.” Fred continued, both tilting their heads as a sign of confusion.
“I just do.” She said, shrugging as if it was nothing.
“Come on, tell us! We’re really curious, Icestone! How do you manage to do it?” George asked.
The Slytherin looked up at the younger twin, “You…” she began, raising her hand to poke the little mole residing in his neck. “...have a mole right here.” She said, causing the twin to blush.
“But how do you manage to spot that so far away?” The older twin chimed.
“George is a bit taller than you.” She answered the older twin. “And you happen to be more annoying. That’s why I like Georgie more.” She teasingly said, nudging the still blushing ginger at the side.
Fred raised his brows. “Be honest Icestone, have you developed a liking for my twin? How could you! I reckon I’m the more good looking twin. You must be blind, woman!” Y/N just shrugged, a small smile on her face as she teased the twins.
As they turned to the next hall, Icestone spotted her friend, forcing her to announce her departure. “I’ll see you tomorrow at Snape’s, Weasleys! At the match on Saturday, too!” She said before running off to Daphne Greengrass.
The notorious twins stop in their tracks, two pairs of eyes staring at the Slytherin queen who locked her arms with her friend, whispering little nothings and giving one short glance to the twins, before heading to the great hall for lunch.
“I think I’m starting to like her, George.” The older twin stated.
“Agree. She’s not like the other Slytherins.”
____________________
The following day, as Fred and George stride the halls after finishing their Divination class, they were arguing about which twin is the better Quidditch player as their conversation started off with the upcoming match of their team versus the house of snakes.
“George, how can YOU be the better player? I am the more good looking twin which makes ME that better player.” Fred insisted, his arms crossing against his chest as he huffed. George shook his head, his hands placing itself on his hips as he looked at his twin unamusingly. “And how does looks define how good you play quidditch?” He opposed.
Fred raised his brows as he faced his twin. “So you agree?”
“Agree to what?” The younger twin asked.
“That I’m the more good looking twin?”
“Fred —“ Before George was able to give his counter attack, he was cut off by his twin who scanned his eyes from corner to corner as if he was searching for something.
“Hold that thought, George. Do you hear that?” Said the older twin.
The ginger towers stopped in their tracks before looking at each other, having their non-verbal twin communication before running off to the sound of crying first years.
As they turned into the next corner, the twins were surprised, hurt, and outraged to see Y/N Icestone standing in front of a group of Hufflepuff first years, arms crossed as her eyes sent sharp icy daggers.
With George being a bit taller than his twin, he was able to be the faster one who stood before the Slytherin, blocking the crying Hufflepuffs away from her sight.
“Icestone?! What the bloody hell do you think you’re doing?” George bellows, his eyebrows meeting at the middle of his forehead, a rather disappointed and enraged look on his face.
The icy daggers Y/N was sending beforehand was shot towards the younger twin. Unfazed by the tone and having no energy to defend or even explain herself as she herself was burning with fury.
“Answer me.” George orders, earning a snap from the Slytherin.
“You do not tell me what to do, Weasley.” Y/N sternly said, her teeth gritted and her fists clenching.
George was even more wrathful but decided to end their verbal quarrel as his eyes caught the sight of the familiar Transfiguration professor.
“Fine. Then shove off, Icestone. Mind your own business instead of harming the poor first years.”
Turning her heels away from the infuriated ginger, Y/N Icestone walked away, not sparing another glance towards the twins.
George turned towards the Hufflepuffs who were now smiling brightly as the older twin made a series of funny faces towards them. George’s anger was melting down.
“You guys alright? I’m sorry about the Slytherins. They never change. Always bullying the poor 1st years…” George started.
“Just ignore them.” Fred insisted towards the group before standing up and fishing assorted sweets from his robes. “Cheer up, okay? Here, take this.” He said, offering the goods as it laid on his palm and the red nosed Hufflepuffs gladly taking it from him before uttering a small “Thank you” and making their way back to their house common room.
George sighed. “You okay, mate?” Fred asked, his arm going around his twin’s shoulders. George sighed once again. “Slytherins are all the same.”
____________________
After Icestone’s encounter with the twins at the hallway, she stormed off to the fields to get some peace and quiet. She figured that retrieving back to the Slytherin dungeons would be rather a hassle for her as her fairy or Lixie or even Daphne if she wasn’t so busy snogging off, would question her foul mood. Going to the library wouldn’t be an option as a lot of students spend their free time there. She would just be followed by their attention.
Pulling her scarf tighter around her neck, she sat at the cold ground, her fiery thoughts being cooled down, frozen, and evaporating into gas, leaving her as the wind blew.
“Surprised seeing you here.” Y/N heard a familiar voice. Quickly turning her head, she was even more surprised to see Lixie standing on its four paws behind her, a dead bird in front of him.
“Gone hunting again, I see? Another peace offering for me. What did you do this time?” She questioned, ready to scold her cat for whatever trouble he did this time. Cats have a tendency to show their love by hunting rather intricate objects to offer to their owner. Lixie only does this when he does something unfavorable for the Slytherin.
“This?” Lixie said, looking down at the dead crow, rolling it like a pizza dough using his right paw. “This isn’t for you.”
“Who is it for then?”
The blue eyed cat looked towards his side making Y/N’s follow through the direction. Leaned against the big stone, a small girl sits, her uniform stating that she was a Gryffindor. Y/N scrunched her nose, turning back to her cat with an eyebrow raised.
“And who is that supposed to be?”
“My friend.” He stated before picking up the black crow with his mouth and running off to the girl. The Slytherin contemplated whether or not to follow thinking that she had to deal with another student younger than her. Not to mention someone from Gryffindor. Gryffindors and Slytherins don’t really get along. Everyone knew that.
Observing her pet, she quietly stood at the fields, watching the girl pat Lixie’s head softly and Lixie opening his mouth to talk. With curiosity getting the best of her, she looked at the encounter from a different angle, noticing the non-stop tears from the Gryffindor girl.
Icestone felt her heart burn. Not again she thought.
Marching towards the pair, she sat beside the Gryffindor. Purposely looking ahead to be not recognized.
“Life hasn’t been good lately, huh? That’s just the way life is.” She began. “You’ll get through.”
When she didn’t get a reply, she turned to face the girl, who she noticed was giving her a look of sadness. Her eyes matching her red hair that also matches her cheeks which Y/N assumes was from the cold air.
“I’m sorry for intruding, dear. It’s just that I saw Lixie over here and I saw you.”
Silence.
Y/N sighed, feeling the need to explain her intentions further. “I guess we have our similarities. I also came here to be alone but I figured being alone in the cold isn’t really that healthy so I came to you. You shouldn’t be alone. So I’m here for you.”
“You know Lixie?” The girl asked, her voice hoarse from all the crying. The first word she uttered ever since the Slytherin came.
Y/N flashed a small smile, giving a small nod. “I do. He’s my cat.” She said, earning a shocked look from the girl.
“Wow...my apologies for being rude. I didn’t know Lixie was yours. I mean, all that was written in his collar was his name and a little snowflake. By the way, my name is Ginny.” The Gryffindor said, her mind being distracted by what caused her gloominess as her eyes showed more liveliness, raising her hand to offer a handshake towards the 5th year.
The Slytherin’s smile grew wider, amused by the red head for comfortably conversing with her. “Nice to meet you, Ginny. I’m Y/N.” She stated, shaking Ginny’s hand.
With the mention of the familiar name, Ginny’s eyes grew wide. “Y/N Icestone?” She chimed, earning a raised brow from Y/N.
“You know me?” She questioned.
Ginny enthusiastically nodded her head, her serotonin going up as she talked to the famous Slytherin queen, causing confusion towards the mentioned 5th year. “I do. You’re always the talk on the hallways, including my brothers of course.”
If Y/N was being honest, she was surprised by Ginny. First of all, not being able to recognize her through one look? Icestone could understand that as they are from different houses afterall and the girl must have a lot of thought as she encountered her bawling her eyes out but finally realizing that she was Y/N Icestone and not being scared of her? That’s rare. That made Y/N favor Ginny.
“Brothers?” She asked, confusion even more evident in her mind.
With Ginny noticing the questioning look plastered around the Slytherin’s face, she realized that the 5th year failed to recognize which family she came from. “Oh yeah my name is Ginny Weasley. I’m the sister of Fred and George. And Ron and Percy. Bill and Charlie as well.” She said.
“Wow...you have a big family.” Y/N stated, shocked from the amount of people under the Weasley family but even more shocked that she met the twin’s little sister who was nothing like them or Ron.
The Gryffindor shrugged. “Do you have siblings?”
The small smile Y/N gave Ginny was being offered again, shaking her head before saying “I don’t.”
“That’s nice…” The red head muttered.
“But it’s okay. At least I have Lixie.” Y/N stated, scratching Lixie’s head before fetching something from her pockets.
Turning to Ginny, she offered her hand, a small bracelet with a single snowflake charm dangling from it. “Here.”
Ginny looked up at the 5th year, curiosity in her eyes. “What’s this?” She asked, earning a small chuckle from the Slytherin. “It’s a bracelet obviously.”
Ginny sheepishly smiled. “I knew that. But why are you giving it to me?”
Y/N took a hold of the said bracelet in her hand, the other fetching Ginny’s hand before clasping the bracelet around the red head’s wrist. “This bracelet lets you talk to Lixie over here. When he says something, you’ll be able to understand him. He likes you. You can play with him.”
Ginny took a look at her wrist. The elegant silver band sitting perfectly on her skin causing a bright smile to sit on her face. Once again, she looked up at the 5th year. “Really?”
Y/N nodded, her smile matching the red head’s. “Really.”

Y/N hastily grabbed the ingredients from George’s hands as he seemed disoriented on what to place in the cauldron next. Y/N looked at the Gryffindor, a concerned look on her face. “You okay?” She asked.
The ginger Gryffindor was surprised to see Icestone talking to him like they didn’t have a messy encounter yesterday. After the twins caught Y/N with the crying Hufflepuffs, George was simply just lost in thought. Never did he hear or caught the Slytherin girl moving like her other awful housemates to the extent of bullying poor first years.
He knew the Slytherin queen moved like a cat. Quiet and swift. Not too showy. That’s also the reason why he wasn’t aware of her existence until that incident in McGonagall’s class. So he had his doubts. Was Icestone really different like he thought she was or was she just the same?
George slowly shook his head, his train of thought departing before giving a small smile towards the Slytherin. “I’m fine. Just nervous for the match on Saturday. I’m sorry I got distracted. I haven’t really been listening to what Snape was saying earlier so--” He rambled, getting cut off by Y/N. “That’s fine, George. I can help you.”
“Icestone...about yesterday…”
“Hush now, George. We don’t want Snape to put us in detention now don’t we?”
“You know, for a Slytherin, you’re pretty nice towards me.” The ginger stated, causing Y/N to look up at him.
“Is that so? And what makes you think that way, Weasley?” She asked, raising a brow. George shrugged.
“I mean, compared to other Slytherins, you’re tolerable. I lashed out at you yesterday but it seems like you’re completely fine. You don’t hold grudges. Even if me and Fred accidentally pranked you, you weren’t as furious as we thought you would be. In fact, you just turned us into cats and acted like nothing happened.” The ginger explained.
Y/N turned her attention away from the potion that they were cooking, a shocked expression around her face as she looked up at the Gryffindor. “Accidentally pranked? You mean to say that wasn’t supposed to be for me?! Then why was it lying on my desk?”
George smiled sheepishly, fidgeting his fingers as he leaned down to whisper. “We thought that was Malfoy’s desk.”
Y/N smirked, her eyebrows raising as an expression of amusement towards the Weasley twins. “You planned to prank Malfoy? Bloody brilliant you twins are. That would have been hilarious!”
George froze, confusion flooding his mind as he looked at the Slytherin in disbelief. “You’re not furious that we planned on pranking Malfoy?” He asked, earning a shrug from Y/N.
“Why would I be? It’s not like we’re close or something.” She deadpanned.
“I mean, you are the Slytherin queen afterall. You wouldn’t be mad if your subject gets teased on? Not to mention how Malfoy is literally your prince.”
Y/N scoffed. “Prince? Prince of annoyingness, prince of being a pain in the bum, or prince of being a whiny bloke? I tell you! He may get the title of the Slytherin prince but he definitely has no chance with me. Besides, haven’t I told you before? Those are just titles. None of it really matters to me. I must say, it is helpful sometimes though. You get the people’s respect for you.” She began.
“Nonetheless, just make sure you don’t hurt innocent Slytherins, Weasley or else I’ll have no mercy on you.” Y/N continued, a threatening tone in her voice as she sent pointed a finger towards the ginger.
George felt a shiver down his spine, scared by the tone used by the Slytherin at her last sentence.
“Yes, ma’am” He muttered before silence enveloped the pair’s table as Snape examined their shared cauldron.
Once the potions master dismissed the class, the students were quick to pack their belongings, refusing to stay a second longer in the dark classroom. Before the Slytherin queen left, she patted George’s shoulder, causing him to face her.
“See you later, George. I’ll see you at the match on Saturday, right?” Y/N asked, her innocent eyes looking up the tall ginger’s. George nodded, a small smile plastered on his lips.
Before he was able to speak, Y/N went on her tiptoes and kissed him on his cheeks, whispering a small “for good luck” before turning her heels to head to the dungeons, leaving George a blushing mess.

Saturday came with the Slytherin and Gryffindor team, along with a few students, sitting at the great hall for breakfast which was earlier than usual given that the match between the house rivals is about to take place. A few chit chatters and the sound of clanking silverware was the only thing to be heard until the infamous Slytherin prince opened his mouth to spat on the opposing team.
“Hey Gryffindors, don’t want to eat too much ey? Don’t want you puking on the field when they announce Slytherin as the winner.” Draco Malfoy snarled, annoying most of the Gryffindor quidditch team and earning a laugh from his own.
“Maybe if you lessened the gel on your hair, you would actually bring a contribution to your team.” Fred clapped back, making Draco scowl.
Just as he was about to stand up from his seat, a noise came from the doors of the great hall, turning everyone’s attention towards it.
There Y/N Icestone stood, residing in an emerald colored coat and a white scarf, with a Siamese cat dressed in a little white sweater in her arms.
As she made her way towards the Slytherin table, all eyes were on her, watching as she entered the hall, striding as if it was her runway. Noticing this, she gave the prying eyes her famous icy look, pushing away the attention off her. As she sat across Daphne Greengrass, Lixie sat on top of the table, his blue eyes sparkling upon seeing the feast laid out in front of him.
With the silence looming around the hall, Malfoy continued his attempt of bullying their quidditch rival. “Scared, Potter? You better watch out because I will be the one who’s gonna bring home the snitch. I--” Draco was unable to continue as a green apple was shoved in his mouth. Y/N Icestone had her wand up, pointed towards him. She was more irritated than ever.
“Malfoy, do you ever shut up? Don’t you think it's too early for you to be behaving like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons? Eat your breakfast, will you?” She sternly said, her arms descending as she kept her wand in her coat, finally sipping her morning herbal tea but not noticing the look the twins from the Gryffindor house was giving her.
“Bloody hell, mate. She’s even scarier in the morning.” Fred whispered to his twin, who had a rather amused look on his face.

The quidditch field slowly became full as students of Hogwarts from different houses took their place on the stands to watch the rivalry unfold.
As both teams stood in their starting positions, George looked up the stands, smiling wide as he scanned the Gryffindors who came to support their house, cheering on his team. Looking over to the Hufflepuffs, he spotted some of his friends who were always excited whenever he and his twin managed to pull another successful prank. Moving his eyes towards the Ravenclaws, he saw how most were actually waiting for the game to start instead of catching up on a book like they usually do when their house was not playing.
Finally setting his eyes towards the Slytherins, the house had an expression of confidence, strongly believing that Gryffindor team was no match for theirs. Finding the familiar icy eyes, he spotted her sitting in the first row. Daphne Greengrass and another girl from the Slytherin house on her sides and a cat on her lap.
As the Slytherin queen reciprocated the look the ginger was giving to her, she raised a brow, making the Gryffindor beater smile even wider. Raising her hand, she gave a small wave before discreetly mouthing “good luck”.

“Angelina, watch out!” Fred called, concerned as a Slytherin player came to shove the Gryffindor chaser, disrupting the team to widen their score against the opposing team.
Most of the Gryffindor players were starting to get enraged. The Slytherin team has been disrupting their play one after the other without the authorities calling it as foul play when it clearly was. Every time a Gryffindor chaser would score the quaffle through the hoops, a Slytherin chaser would come shoving, sometimes kicking their brooms to make them lose their balance and take a hold of the said ball. The Slytherin beaters would purposely hit the bludgers roughly, once hitting their captain, Oliver Wood in the head, making him fall off and make the Gryffindor hoops unattended for the opposing team to score.
“Harry Potter flies through the stands in an attempt to catch the golden snitch. Will he be able to? Will Gryffindor win against the Slytherin today?!” Lee Jordan announces, being the commentator for quidditch games.
The rest of the Gryffindor team gave their effort to do defense against the opposition of the Slytherin team as they managed to get ahead of Gryffindor's points.
“The Slytherin seeker Draco Malfoy catches up to Harry, reaches his hands, and catches the snitch! Draco Malfoy catches the golden snitch! Slytherin wins!” Lee announces, the field erupting into cheers and shouts in different contexts.
The teams descend down from their brooms, the Slytherin team having an annoying smirk on their faces, high fiving each other before their captain, Marcus Flint, faces the Gryffindors, the look plastered on his face not faltering.
“Good game, Gryffs.” He said, laying his hand out for a hand shake but no one accepted. “Good game?!” Fred asked in disbelief. “You cheated!”
Flint raised both his arms in a defensive state. “Woah. Woah. Calm down Gryffs. In no way did we cheat. No need to blame your loss against ours. You should have trained your seeker better then. Good job, Malfoy.” He claimed, praising their Slytherin seeker who held out the golden snitch in a boasting manner, before retrieving back to their tent.
George, enraged from Slytherin’s foul play, looked up the stands, seeing a crossed armed Y/N Icestone, a similar annoying smirk plastered around her face, making him even more furious.
“Icestone.”

“Marcus Flint.” Y/N called, breaking the little bubble her house quidditch team was in, as she entered the team’s tent. With the captain facing towards her, the team halts their celebration as tension builds up in the atmosphere due to the seriousness in Icestone’s voice.
Standing in front of the sweaty team, she sent a glare towards the captain before looking at each player, one by one.
“Slytherins. I see that you’re celebrating your win against Gryffindor.” She stated, a disappointed smirk plastered on her face.
“Yeah, did you see how Draco caught the snitch? Potter really had nothing against him.” Flint snickered, patting the young boy at the back.
Y/N gave them a small and single nod. “Sure, you won. But do you think it’s a victorious one? Something that would bring you glory?” She scolded.
“I thought we talked about having a fair play? Do you want me to strip off your captain title, Flint? I could easily owl my father right this instant. It would --”
“No, no! I’m so sorry Icestone. I promise to not do it again! I’ll train my team even harder!” Flint cut off, scared of the Slytherin standing in front of him. Y/N gave a stern look towards the Slytherin team, silently threatening them as a warning to be ready for the consequences of another attempt of foul play.
That didn't work for Malfoy, though, as the platinum blonde boy scoffed. “Wait until my father--” Before he was able to continue, the girl cut him off. “Wait until my father hears about this.” Y/N mocked.
“What is he gonna do about it, huh? Your father has no power against mine. Remember that.” She stated, her voice full of venom. Finally turning her heels and making her way back to the comfort of her room but not before Lixie sending the team a small hiss causing them to jump.

Y/N stride the halls of the wizarding school, cat in her arms, gently stroking Lixie’s head as she makes her way to find a certain Gryffindor ginger.
Turning to the next corner, she was met by unwelcoming looks from the furious redhead twins, one of them being the certain ginger that she was looking for. Opening her mouth to speak, she was immediately cut off.
“That was all part of your plan now, wasn’t it ice queen?” George mocked, an angry tone in his voice. Y/N kept her blank expression, continuously patting her cat’s head to calm her building nerves.
She was shocked by the outraged looks the twins gave her but she was even more shocked to hear the tone George used on her. She understood that the twins would be mad because of the match earlier but she didn’t expect them to pour it down on her. She was lost in her thoughts. A lot of questions building up and her mind trying to conclude each and every one. Nonetheless, she kept her blank expression, showing no emotion towards the two tall gingers.
“I certainly do not know what you are talking about, Weasley.” She answered, her icy eyes digging back at his fiery ones.
“You must have ordered the Slytherin quidditch team to play dirty on us, huh? You must have ordered them like the queen you are! Angelina almost fell from her broom!” Fred exclaimed, causing Y/N to raise a finger at him.
“You do not use that tone on me, Weasley. My apologies for the foul play Slytherin has brought into the table. My apologies to your team, too, on their behalf. But trust me, I was not the mastermind of this.” She sternly said, the Weasley twins unfazed by her stone cold glare. In fact, they were even more furious, if that was possible.
“Oh yeah? Well then what was the meaning of “watch out for the main event” huh, Icestone? Don’t tell me this isn’t the main event you're pertaining to. Don’t tell me that you’re planning something else.” George said, gritting his teeth.
“Clearly you have twisted my words, Weasley. The main event was the pie on your face. Nothing more, nothing less. As for the events that unfolded earlier, none was under my control. You know how Slytherins always play dirty on the field. Now, shove off Weasleys.” She said under her voice, pushing past the Gryffindors as her icy eyes started to melt, water threatening to fall.

Later that evening, Fred and George sat at the Gryffindor tables at the great hall, bitter at the sight of the celebrating Slytherins. As George scanned his eyes towards the Slytherin tables, he was not fazed by the absence of the Slytherin queen but not until the Slytherins turned down their noise as Y/N Icestone walked in their sight, face showing no emotion.
“Icestone! We won!” A group of Slytherin girls celebrated, following Y/N as she sat in her place, the group sitting across from her. She flashed them a small smile before grabbing her own share of supper.
Fred gritted his teeth, his hands clenching against the fork he was holding. “Can you believe this, George?! Bloody Icestone even has the nerves to deny everything! It’s so obvious!” He ranted, strongly stating his opinion.
George sighed. “I can tell, Fred. I guess what I thought of her was wrong. So, so wrong.”
Silence occupied the twin’s bubble. Both focusing on stuffing their mouths full to distract them from the happy feast their rival house was doing.
Suddenly, as if a telepathic moment occurred between the Weasley twins, they looked up at each other. A smirk plastered around the older twin’s face and two brows raised from the younger twin.
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking, George?” Fred gushed.
“I think I know what you’re thinking, Fred.” George replied.
“Time to take the queen down.” They chanted.

Before the twins entered their potions class with Snape, they stopped outside the door, looking at each other.
“Ready, George?”
“Ready, Fred!”

Cry For Me | George Weasley x Reader
Masterlist
"I want you to cry for me. Just like I cried, cry for me."
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/N Icestone always gets what she wants. She is from one of the most prestigious pureblood families after all. Truth is, this was all facts, except this often creates a different context in the little minds of surrounding individuals. With the Icestone clan always being sorted into the house of Slytherin, pajamas made of the finest silk, shoes from premium leather crafted by the greatest cordwainer, customized and handmade uniforms, and their best friend; diamonds. The family stone, diamonds; that hang in their neck as an emblem of purity, perfection, treasure, and richness. No doubt that people would see her as another selfish rich brat emanating from the glorious family.
Attention follows her like a lost puppy. When she strides the halls, all eyes are on her, watching her every step, her every move. When she flicks her wand, the eyes of her professors sparkle, amazed to have a student like her. When she shows up at prestigious gatherings, they make their way to please her, treat her like royalty, hoping that one day, she could be a part of their own family. She was the center of attention but none of those really mattered if a certain Weasley twin refused to look at her. She has the riches and the fame, the popularity and the title, but what she’s missing is love.
