Coffins of Tutankhamun𓏤 The Pharaoh 𓉐𓉼 “pr-aA” Tutankhamun (𓇋𓏠𓈖𓏏𓅱𓏏𓋹𓋾𓉺𓇑) “twt-ankh-imn~hekA-iwnw-šmAi)” ‘The Living Image of Amun, Ruler of Southern Iwnw (Heliopolis)’ died aged only 19.𓏤 In the first photo you can see his replicated mummified body and one of his 4 coffins at the British Museum. The sarcophagus was one of his 4 coffins 𓏘𓂋𓋴𓊭 “qrsw” which were placed were fitted into the burial 𓈎𓂋𓋴𓌟𓏏𓊭 “krs” chamber inside his tomb 𓂝𓂝𓇋𓉴 “aai”. The other chambers were filled with goods and treasures that the pharaoh might need in the Afterlife 𓋴𓐍𓏏𓇏 𓇋𓄿𓃭 “sḫ.t-ı͗Arw” Field of Reeds (Wenis - Pyramid Text). It was intended, of course, for the pharaoh’s mummy to lie inside his tomb forever 𓆖.𓏤 But the abundance of gold 𓋞 “nbw” and jewellery would usually attract robbers—probably within only a few years 𓆴𓏪 “rnpt” of the pharaoh’s burial. But, incredibly, after two early break-ins, during which few treasures was stolen, Tutankhamun’s tomb remained undisturbed for more than 3000 𓆾 years until it was discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter.𓏤 Inside the tomb were statues 𓂙𓏏𓏭𓀾 “hnty”, furniture 𓇋𓊪𓂧𓆱𓏫 “ı͗pdw”, jewellery 𓐢𓂋𓅱𓏬 “aprw” and many other precious items left exactly as they had been placed all those centuries before. 𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬 Follow: @egyptologylessons 𓋹𓊽𓋴𓆖𓎛𓇳𓎛 𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁 #egypt #egyptian #ancient #ancientegypt #hieroglyphics #ägypten #middleeast #worldtourismday #thisisegypt #egyptologist #myegypt #egyptianhistory #egyptology #archeology #hieroglyphs #madeinegypt #egypte #egyptians #egyptshots #loveegypt #discoveregypt #tutankamun #coffin #egyptiantreasure #pharaoh #egyptianburial https://www.instagram.com/p/Cki-5xvuP0T/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Over the years I have realised that architecture has become a big part of my life, from never having any interest in it I find myself photographing buildings more and more often and spending time with people in the industry without even knowing it consciously. Always look up. This was in Cairo, I mean how insane is this ceiling?! . . . #cairo #cairoegypt #cairostreets #egypt #egyptian #travel #travelegypt #doyoutravel #adventureseekers #goexplore #travelmore #openmyworld #thattravelblog #workandtravel #workhardanywhere #officeoftheday #seekmoments #exploreegypt #this_is_egypt #loveegypt #egyptphotography #egyptphotographer #sonyalpha #bealpha #sonyalphasa (at Cairo, Egypt) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmYaDIRKySe/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Nut 𓏌𓏏𓇯 Wife and Mother According to Egyptian 𓂋𓐝𓎀𓀂𓀭𓏪 “rmT” myth of Kamutef, every 𓎟 “nb” night 𓎼𓂋𓎛𓇰 “grḥ” the Sun god 𓊹 “nTr” Ra 𓇳 “rˁ” inseminated Nut, the goddess 𓏏𓆇𓆗 of the 𓊪𓏏𓇯 “pt” sky/heaven. Every morning she gave birth 𓁒 to him 𓇓𓅱 again in a process of daily 𓇳𓏤𓎟 “nb rˁ” renewal.𓏤 Nut is therefore both mother 𓅐𓏏 “mwt” and wife 𓈞𓏏 “hm.t” of the sun. In royal mythology, the pharaoh 𓉐𓉼 “pr-ˁA” ‘Great House’ hope to achieve renewal in a similar way to the myth in which mother and wife were conceptualized identically.𓏤 In practice, this role was represented by two women, the monarch’s wife and mother - who were both identified in ceremonial terms, as one.𓏤 From the Tomb of Rameses VI, 20th Dynasty, Valley of the Kings.𓏤 #egyptpassion #discoveregypt #thisisegypt #iregipto #egyptian #ancient #ancientegypt #hieroglyphics #ägypten #thisisegypt #egyptologist #myegypt #egyptianhistory #egyptology #archeology #hieroglyphs #madeinegypt #egypte #egyptians #egyptshots #loveegypt #discoveregypt #egitto #埃及 #مصر #egipto #egyptianmythology #egyptiannut #egyptiansky #kamutef https://www.instagram.com/p/CZkxeHSLG3v/?utm_medium=tumblr

Bugün benim eeennnnn sevdiğim mevsime geçiyoruz! 🍂🍁🍃 . Hava hafif hafif içimizi titretecek, güneş sık sık yüzünü gösterecek, arada yağmur ıslatacak, doğanın renkleri yeşilden sarıya kırmızıya dönmeye başlayacak... . Serinde gezmenin tadı da başka güzel 👍 . Sıcak günlerin son seyahati olan Mısır yazılarımı yayınlamaya başladım. Bugün sırada Mısır’ın hippi şehri Dahab var, linki hikayelere bırakıyorum. Yine uzun uzun dolu dolu yazdım bir bakın 😉 . #çokgezen #çokgezenmısır #mısır #egypt #egitto #thisisegypt #travelegypt #egipto #loveegypt #exploreegypt #discoveregypt #egyper #visitegypt #hellofrom #ancientegypt #dahab #dahabegypt #gezgingazetesi #sugezginturkler #outdoorturkiye #ekinoks (at Dahab) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2wj0qEHva5/?igshid=5vb4kfx4fjxh

Khasekhemwy 2690–? B.C. Khasekhemwy has by far the coolest name of all the Pharaohs. Well, maybe Sekhemresewdjtawy is slightly cooler. But far more difficult to pronounce. Little is known about this mysterious and illusive Pharaoh. We know there were several military expeditions in his name based on artefacts and writings that have come down to us. For a time, Egyptologists believed there was a Pharaoh before Khasekhemwy called Khasekhem. However it is now thought that after reunifying Upper and Lower Egypt, Khasekhem changed his name to Khasekhemwy. Still following me? He is believed to be the first Pharaoh to of built statues of himself - a tradition that followed for virtually every single Pharaoh after him. It is almost unanimously believed that Khasekhemwy is the father of Djoser, the second Pharaoh of the 2nd Dynasty. And he may also of been the father to Sanakht- the founding Pharaoh of the 2nd Dynasty. But even this is still being debated. Being a Pharaoh runs in the family. #ancientegypt #ancient #history #egypt #pharaoh #egyptian #facts #classics #loveegypt #discoveregypt #egyptshots #egyptology #archaeology #art #thisisegypt #myegypt #hieroglyphics #tomb #travel #ancienthistory #mythology #religion #karnak #tutankhamun #temple #abusimbel #egyptianmuseum #museum #artwork https://www.instagram.com/p/BxvObkCFYco/?igshid=1qyyiqi28amrv

Sopdet 𓏚𓏏𓆇𓁐 “spd.t” is the ancient Egyptian 𓂋𓐝𓎀𓀂𓀭𓏪 “rmṯ” name of the star Sirius and its personification as an Egyptian goddess 𓊹𓏏 “nṯr.t”. Known to the Greeks as Sothis, she was conflated with Isis 𓊨𓏏𓆇 “3s.t” as a goddess and Anubis 𓇋𓈖𓊪𓅱𓃣 “inpw” as a god. Sopdet was depicted as a woman with a five-pointed star upon her head (photo 2), usually with a horned hedjet similar to Satis 𓋴𓄝𓏏𓏏𓁐 “stt” (photo 2 - A stellar goddess, possibly Sopdet, from the c. 1300 BC tomb of Seti I). Sopdet was also depicted as a reclining cow 𓇋𓎛𓏏𓃒 “ı͗ḥ.t” in a solar boat from the old kingdom and occasional throughout the ancient Egyptian history (photo 3 - Dandera ceiling) During the early period of Egyptian civilization, the heliacal rising of the bright 𓅱𓃀𓐍𓏏𓇶 “wbḫ” star 𓇼 “dw3” preceded the usual annual flooding 𓅱𓆓𓈖𓏌𓏲𓈗 “wḏnw” of the Nile 𓎛𓂝𓊪𓏭𓈘𓈗 “ḥpy”. It was therefore apparently used for the solar civil calendar which largely superseded the original lunar calendar in the 3rd millennium BC. Despite the wandering nature of the Egyptian calendar, the erratic timing of the flood from year to year, and the slow procession of Sirius within the solar year, Sopdet continued to remain central to cultural depictions of the year and to celebrations of Wep Renpet (Wp Rnpt), the Egyptian New Year 𓄋𓊪𓏏𓆳𓏏𓏤 “wp.t-rnp.t”. She was also venerated as a goddess of the fertility brought to the soil by the flooding. Sopdet is the consort of Sah, the personified constellation of Orion (photo 1) near Sirius. Their child Venus 𓋴𓃀𓇼𓍑𓄿 “sb3-ḏ (y)” was the hawk god Sopdu 𓏚𓅱𓀭 “spdw”, ‘Lord of the East’. As the "bringer of the New Year and the Nile flood", she was associated with Osiris 𓊨𓁹 “wsir” from an early date and by the Ptolemaic period Sah and Sopdet almost solely appeared in forms conflated with Osiris and Isis. #Egypt #egyptian #ancient #ancientegypt #hieroglyphics #ägypten #thisisegypt #egyptologist #myegypt #egyptianhistory #egyptology #hieroglyphs #madeinegypt #egypte #egyptians #egyptshots #loveegypt #discoveregypt #egitto #埃及 #مصر #egipto #constelation #sirius #dogstar #sopdet #astronomy #flooding #inundation https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck8ZZbOOJ_b/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The lion 𓌳𓄿𓇋𓃬 “mAı͗” and crocodile—images of dangerous elements mastered by the Pharaoh 𓉐𓉼 “pr-ˁ3” ‘Great House’, the guarantor of order—were also symbols of royalty.
