Ngl while I set my Marvel S/I in modern days the temptation to throw her into the 70s/80s X-Men run is so fucking tempting. I COULD do it no one can stop me. Like. It would be so fun. Come up with cute retro clothes for my girl and have her be a cute lil’ thing who captures the heart of a certain fuzzy blue elf 💙💙💙

did you guys know that in pokemon amie, when you pet a honedge with low friendship on the sash, it will react positively, but once your friendship with it is high enough it will react angrily to that instead
its dex entry reads 'If anyone dares to grab its hilt, it wraps a blue cloth around that person's arm and drains that person's life energy completely.'
the reason i say this is because 1. honedge is a sword who can love you and it makes it obvious when it does and 2. i think wikstrom and his aegislash had mutual respect when they first met so not only did wikstrom never try to grab him by the sash or the hilt, cali in return never attempted to kill him

I am really curious about King Arthur having a crush on Thena, maybe you could write something about it? I can really imagine him challenging Gilgamesh just for Thena (as if he could win🤣).
She truly was like an angel--an otherworldly creature in the shape of a beautiful woman. All the Chosen Ones - Eternals, as they had told him - had an unholy beauty to them. But by and far, Lady Thena was the most stunning, Arthur would argue. And no one would argue with his majesty over the fact.
Except maybe her partner in combat, Sir Gilgamesh. He was an honourable man, light of heart and strong of will. His strength matched Lady Thena's well, and the two were never apart, it seemed.
Much to the King's chagrin.
Lady Thena had taught Arthur everything to know about the blade and its ways. She was a master of any and all weaponry, able to summon her own with a gift of the heavens at her grasp. Her swords were always as golden and glittering as she herself in all her beauty.
The lines of gold traced all the Eternals, as was their way. Lady Ajak's - kind as a mother to him since their arrival - hands glowed with her healing gifts. Ladies Sersi and Makkari both possessed the glow when exercising their powers.
The most deadly combination was the power of Lady Thena and Sir Gilgamesh combined. Together, they had laid waste to the beastly monsters known as Deviants to the Eternals. Arthur and his court had described them as giants and dragons and beasts never seen before.
Lady Thena referred to them as pests, or vermin. And Sir Gilgamesh would laugh every time she did.
Arthur descended the turret stairs, walking out into the halls leading to his throne room. He'd asked the Eternals gather for something of the utmost importance.
"Your Majesty," Lady Ajak curtsied to him, the only one of them with regard to the manners of the time, except perhaps for Lady Sersi.
"I have a request I must make, and I require you all to bear witness," he declared, head high and shoulders back. He was no longer the young man in need of constant training by Lady Thena's hand. He was now a man--a king!
Lady Thena herself raised a brow at him as he stood before them, cape on his shoulders, circlet on his head, gripping a sword at his hip. "Arthur, what do you mean to ask?"
Lady Thena never attempted to appear a patient woman.
"I mean," he stepped forward, closer to her. Now, and only now, did Sir Gilgamesh seem to snap out of his daydreaming and look over. Arthur steeled his resolve, kneeling down in front of the angel of a woman and bowing his head to her. "To ask for your hand."
A long silence stretched over them.
Druig the Mage leaned forward from the line of their assemblage. "Like, to hold?"
"Aye," Arthur looked up at her eagerly, extending a hand to receive hers, "for the rest of our lives."
"Okay, kid, don't you think you're getting a little ahead of yourself?"
Arthur sighed. He could have guessed that if he met any objections at all it would be from Sir Gilgamesh. He had hoped he wouldn't have to stifle any arguments from another of his respected and revered mentors. But he had set out to ask the Lady Thena's hand in marriage, no matter the obstacle.
They all watched him rise, gripping Excalibur and tipping his chin up.
"I intend to marry the Lady Thena, should she have me."
"And if I do not?"
Oh. Well...he hadn't expected her to be so...direct. Arthur glanced down at his feet (a habit he was still trying to break). He blushed. "M-My Lady, I know you have known me since boyhood-"
"And you know that we are ageless beings not of your world?"
"Nevertheless!" Arthur powered through, keeping his eyes on the woman before him. He knew that she was not of this world. He knew that she had not aged a single day since they had arrived to help him conquer the Deviant army nearly a decade ago. He knew that no matter what manner of being she was, whether of God's domain or not, she was the woman to whom his heart belonged.
Lady Thena kept her eyes on him as he stepped closer again. When he was close enough she took a step back. Or rather, she took a step closer to Sir Gilgamesh, always at her side.
"I pledge myself to you, my Lady," Arthur professed, hand over his beating heart, staring wide eyed at the lady borne of the sun. "I could ask for no better queen by my side."
"That's true, but the answer's still no."
Arthur's smile faltered, his eyes drawing to Sir Gilgamesh again. Lady Thena seemed amused by his interjection, but Arthur was not so jollied. Nor did he enjoy Sir Gilgamesh's arm so casually - salaciously! - draped around Lady Thena's shoulders. "I am asking the Lady herself."
"The Lady also says no."
Arthur nearly whimpered, feeling as if struck through the heart. He looked at her with wide eyes, but Lady Thena's sparkling green eyes were as unmoved as always. He raised himself to full height. "Lady Thena, please-"
"Arthur," Lady Ajak attempted to interject, her voice soft and pleading. "I think you should reconsider your question."
Not her too. He believed in his heart of hearts that Lady Thena was the woman for him. The woman destined to be by his side as he ruled. A golden angel chosen to rule alongside him. "I must insist."
"Excuse me?" Sir Ikaris now voiced his own doubt.
"Must I challenge you?" Arthur asked directly to Sir Gilgamesh, gripping his sword's sheath and pressing his thumb to its hilt. The blade rattled as he edged it out. "Do you think you shall scare me from my true love?"
"I thought Kings knew better than to think about such things," Lady Thena finally spoke freely. But it was to make her light hearted comment to the man at her side.
"Maybe he listened to one too many of Sprite's stories," Sir Gilgamesh shrugged, and ignored both Arthur and Scribe Sprite's objections to such a claim.
"I know my heart!" Arthur insisted. "And I know that it lies only with Lady Thena!"
Lady Makkari nudged Lady Thena's arm warmly. Thena, give the poor boy his heart back!
"I would, that I could," Lady Thena answered her silent comrade. She turned back to him at last. "Arthur, you are not for me, and I am not for you."
"But-"
"Last warning, kid."
Arthur frowned as Sir Gilgamesh pressed a palm to the chest of his armour. He was a mentor of his, and a long time friend of the throne. But Arthur was starting to feel less warm to the titan. "You would stand between us?"
He shrugged.
"I do respect a man who stands by his heart's truest desires," Arthur could concede. "I know your heart also lies with Lady Thena. But I must declare myself with no hesitation. Should our hearts need compete-"
"Who said there was any competition?"
Arthur looked at Lady Thena, further discouraged to find that her eyes were for the Eternal at her side, and him alone. It was certainly what he considered a last resort, under the most dire of circumstances. But he drew Excalibur. "I challenge you."
The other Eternals scoffed--scoffed! Chief Architect Phastos rolled his eyes. "Arty, you've got guts, I'll give you that."
"But you're lookin' to get yourself killed like this," Sir Ikaris also dismissed Arthur's intent.
"I am quiet serious," Arthur reiterated, holding the tip of the blade at Sir Gilgamesh. "You may be Lady Thena's partner, but I challenge you for the position of her heart's other half."
"Again, there is no competition." Even Lady Thena herself was rolling her eyes now.
"Look," Sir Gilgamesh sighed. He reached up, grasping Excalibur by the blade. Arthur paled--he knew that Sir Gilgamesh had extraordinary strength, but to hold the blade of Excalibur against his bare palm?! "You got to make the big speech. Why not just call it a day?"
Arthur stumbled as Sir Gilgamesh wrestled the blade from his hands and tossed it to the ground. As if it were not the blade of legend that had decided his fate as ruling king. "But-"
"What's for dinner?" Lady Thena asked, already turning to walk out with Sir Gilgamesh's arm around her waist.
Sir Gilgamesh actually raised a hand to Lady Thena's cheek, touching the tip of his nose to hers (now he was just rubbing salt in his wound, Arthur thought). "Whatever you want, of course."
The rest of the Eternals followed, Lady Ajak giving him a sympathetic smile, although it seemed that even she had a limit to her sympathies. Mage Druig gave him a very insincere seeming smile, holding both of his thumbs up at him.
"Look Arty," Scribe Sprite said as the last one to join her comrades, "you couldn't have picked a less available choice to be your queen. And maybe don't go around challenging a dude literally called The Strongest Eternal."
