hi again Quil! I wanted to ask whether wings would stop the whole non-recognizable part of exilium. like if the wings are unique to a person would it be easy to recognize wings such as when Gisela threw the rock at Keefe in book 3 or when gethen disguised as a human. is their a way to hide wings, like do you just cover them up and hope no one notices or? thanks!

while this isn’t the kind of situation that would likely come up in my au for the main crew, I’d say it could really go either way!

Some people have much more easily hidden wings, something they could tuck under a cloak or cape or some kind. Then they’d be able to remain anonymous. Others have more bulky wings that can’t easily fit under a cape or anything, at least not without looking really bumpy/obvious. That could hide the colors/base (like whether it’s feathered, etc), but could make them stand out because it’s hard to hide!

The same would apply if Gisela had had wings in book 3. She would’ve been able to hide the details but likely not their presence. Unless she was one of the people with easily hidden wings.

as for empath wings, I’m going to try not to be too specific because I don’t want to give away some of the aspects of Keefe’s wings, our resident empath

However, in my au it functions similar to the way a polygot’s ability does, as in the base is determined by something else about them and then their ability affects the details.

For simplicities sake, I’ll also give this random empath I’ve just created for this example only white feathered wings as a base. However they have patterns on the feathers. And when they’re reading someone’s emotions, the patterns shift to reflect what they’re picking up on. Think like the fractals Sophie and Fitz saw in each other’s mental emotional centers, but on the feathers!!

Also I’m very curious what your theories were ahdkajksa, I love this au so much lmao
