I love how we as a culture have agreed that fall is the official time to rewatch the extended trilogy of Lord of the Rings. So many posts on so many timelines about this exact subject. It warms my little nerd heart.

We don’t talk enough about Sean Bean’s performance. The man IS Boromir.

I am Aragorn, son of Arathorn. This is Gimli, son of Glóin, and Legolas of the Woodland Realm, he has a father but it's embarrassing please don't ask

Unpopular opinion but Elrond should have killed Isildur and thrown him into the fires of Mount Doom so none of this happened

I know I’ve said this multiple times. It bears repeating: “war will make corpses of us all” remains one of the best introductory scenes and monologues of any genre

Watching Lord of the Rings with my cave goblin fiancé:
Me: Tumblr is making me want to watch the DnD movie again but it's not it yet, so I guess LotR will have to do.
Him: .....you wanna try that again?
.
Him: remember when you read the book and you were disappointed it wasn't Arwen who saved Frodo? And you called Glorfindel some "random bitch elf"?
Me: I said what I said.
.
Me: hey babe...why didn't...they just.......take the eagles to Mordor.....
Him: .....so, you wanna hire a company to move your stuff out, or......

My brother is watching Lotr for the first time (yesm the extended edition. He is nine) and we're just past Moria. He's seriously flagging so we're having a well deserved break for an hour before going to Lothlorien, and setting him up for the Two Towers. Luckily, he likes this better than the Hobbit, so we're gucci on that part, and he's enjoying thee seriousness - though of course, it's still a lot for a nine year old with attention deficiencies.
