Boromir tries to train Merry and Pippin to fight properly. Unfortunately they have no intent to do so.
I really loved the way Boromir was portrayed in the books, especially when he was protective of the hobbits. I could type on and fill pages with my feelings on the matter, so I will just hush and post.

I was bored so I went to go read the 1-star reviews on LoTR:RotK and I’m literally dying of laughter right now

just got back from the cinema from a viewing of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and holy shit is it an entirely different experience than watching it at home. like the sound, the screen, the fact that I was actually in a cinema watching this movie that was released 20 years ago, only 1 year after I was born. actually unreal. when the movie was finished I realized I had never fully watched the movie without getting distracted (thanks ADHD) except for just then. I already loved these movies but this just gave me a whole new level of appreciation. being able to see and hear all the details on the big IMAX screen and with the amazing IMAX sound. just... fucking magical is the best way to describe it. god I love lotr

Much must be risked in war. Is there a Captain here who still has the courage to do his Lord's will?

if there's one movie scene that will always, without fail, get me all emotional and fucked up, its the lighting of the beacons in return of the king. the music, the visuals, the themes of hope and camaraderie, gondor calls for help and rohan will answer etc etc. 😩

Every time I rewatch The Lord of the Rings I oscillate violently between “it’s important to show men having close, supportive friendships and I’m so glad Peter Jackson chose to show all the male characters being loving and physically affectionate with one another in a healthy, platonic way” and “damn, these bitches gay. good for them, good for them”
