Other Notes: You’ll observe that character death and animal death are not in my DNW’s. If the story needs a sacrifice, the story needs a sacrifice. (I’m mentioning this because some of my canons have death as a major thematic component, or have war-torn settings.) Please exercise your judgement here. Also if you want to use OCs in a major role, including POV, go ahead, just don’t have them warp the narrative so that they’re the most important person in the story whom the other characters all fawn over.

I’ve seen both seasons of the anime and have read most of the manga. I’m missing a couple volumes.

Involving Taki’s grandfather’s stuff and legacy. Tanuma’s Dad - he knows that Natsume is sensitive to spirits, I’d like to see a conversation between him and Natsume or Tanuma about it. Weather is global, do weather spirits drift in and out of areas? Humans move things around, does a cursed or possessed item end up in Natsume’s area? Did Reiko get the name of one such spirit and now it’s back to reclaim its name? Traveling to a different part of the world and the spirits there: Vacation time! The Fujiwaras decide it's time for a break, where do they go? What do they see?

Karluk hanging with Azel and the cousins; and what Amir and everyone were doing at home while he was gone. The twins being high-maintenance as hell. Something the manga never went into in any depth - what negotiations happened between the families to get Amir and Karluk engaged? Amir and Azel’s younger sisters, Aterui and Karahiga, who married into the Numaji and died - what were they like? Elaborate on Talas’s journey to find Henry, or show us the reaction of his family to his marriage to her. Grandma Balkirsh is amazing, anything with her would be excellent. Other than that I am a foodie with a wide and varied palate, so knock yourself out with flavors and styles.

Final Fantasy X & X-2

Fandom Likes Sacrifice, and when it’s worth it versus when it’s not. The dual themes of rebellion and acceptance. Pyreflies as plothole glue. Maechen expositing all over the place. The East Asian inspirations. Fayth, aeons, and summoning.

Possible things to explore: Past fayth - I think the summons must have been whittled down over time to the number we see in game. Final Fantasy has a rich well of summon lore to draw on, show me who/what some of them would be in Spira. What makes someone become a fayth? What personal histories lead to that decision? What rituals of transformation do they undergo? What was summoning like in the Machina Era? What motivated Yunalesca and Zaon and Yu Yevon to do what they did? Past summoners - give me the canon High Summoners or some OCs and describe their pilgrimage. Crossover AU’s are fun here too - cast characters from one of your favorite properties as a summoner and their guardians. I don’t need to be familiar with the other canon to enjoy reading those. Besaid Island! Talk to me about the culture there, the underdog love for their perpetually losing blitzball team, their tradition of textile work, how Valefor’s presence influences the island. Backstories: Yuna, Lulu, Wakka, Chappu, and Kimahri growing up on Besaid. Tidus in Dream Zanarkand, with this weird guy in the red coat who showed up one day and said he knew Jecht. Paine, whose past we know almost nothing about her before her time with the Crimson Squad. Rikku and Tidus = sunshine children who say what they feel. Most of the time. Their friendship is really great. Give me Tidus helping Rikku on a salvage operation, or Rikku showing Tidus around Al Bhed technology and how it differs or is the same from the machina he was used to. Give me their fierce devotion to Yuna’s health and happiness - maybe they’re planning a surprise for her? YRP - getting into hijinks, having each other’s backs, supporting each other through the rough times. Sports AU! What if the initial plot of the game - superstar player is sucked through time/out of his cushy home life to lead a lousy team to victory in the Big Game - were played straight?

Their separate struggles with darkness; Terra in BbS and later, and Aqua in the Realm of Darkness. Why Terra didn’t immediately just go into murder mode on seeing Master Xehanort in the latter part of KH3. Aqua as the Successor to the Land of Departure; any responsibilities that come with Mastery.
