BREAKING DAWN
Tumblr media
There were three separate kingdoms created following Auradon’s founding -- the United States of Auradon, the Isle of the Lost & Fantasy Isle, a location made of all the magical kingdoms that Auradon couldn’t hold into their contract. As a result, Auradon and Fantasy Isle have been separate, the magic ban being a major reason why they didn’t join -- after all, worlds filled with pixies and white rabbits and imaginary dragons didn’t gel with King Beast’s ideal little kingdom.
Blarion ‘Blair’ Mercurial -- also known as the Dreamfinder -- decides to send his daughter Dawn to Auradon Prep as a peace treaty between the two kingdoms following the announcement of Prince Ben’s ascension to king. Coincidentally, it’s the same day that Ben announces his first decree -- four children from the Isle of the Lost will be brought to Auradon. Dawn finds herself locked out of the loop, now staring down another magical refugee who’s less well recieved then she was. Mal Bertha, daughter of Maleficent.
In the Villain Kids quest to steal the fairy godmother’s wand, Dawn becomes a distraction for Mal. Her existence causes Mal to question her loyalties, to question her ideals... And Dawn is questioning why her father sent her to Auradon in the first place. After all, imagination always finds a way, and she and Figment have some work to do.
