What if Jessamy, instead of entering the Sunless Lands, reincarnates after her death, and meets Dream in her next life?

Just imagine. Hob and Dream are walking hand in hand in a park, passing by a group of kids. They're all orphans, enjoying their daily outing, running around, playing catch, Dream doesn't pay much attention to them, but then there's a little girl with pale skin and raven-black hair, she's lively and cheerful and their eyes meet and the recognition sends Dream to his knees because it's her.

Jessamy runs to him so fast that she almost trips over her own feet, while Dream is already honest-to-god weeping by the time she reaches him. Their embrace would be bone-crushing if Dream wasn't scared of hurting her - he doesn't spend much time around children, you see, the last time he held one in his arms was eons ago -, and his hands are trembling as he cradles the precious child closer, not quite ready to let go of her yet. He feels Hob kneeling down behind him, a steady hand on his back, a gesture of grounding he's immensely grateful for.

"You're Dream," says the girl with such certainty that shatters his heart in two then mends it immediately again. "You're my Papa."

Another sob threatens to break from his throat and he feels like someone stabbed him in the chest with a sword, but the last thing he wants is to scare away Jessamy, who's smiling at him as if not a day has gone by since they last saw each other.

"I can be your Papa if you want me to," Dream promises, no, swears, on everything he has, "my dear Jessamy. How much I missed you."

He has no idea how much Jessamy remembers, or how a legal adoption process works, he doesn't know a single thing save that in this life he won't let any harm come to her, and she will be the happiest, most cherished child of two worlds.

there needs to be a study on why bob's burgers fans are so obsessed with writing about the belcher kids dying of a horrific illness or accident and in so much detail. like to an extent I understand wanting to explore darker themes with these characters but there's SO MUCH of it omg I have never been in a fandom this obsessed with angst before

the headcanon: sailor dee and bandana dee are siblings! sailor is bandee's big sister, and although they were young, they loved each other very dearly and took care of each other as much as they could. however, thanks to dedede stealing all the food, sailor decided to spontaneously join the meta-knights in order to protect her brother and fight for a better ruler. bandee, heartbroken, flees to castle dedede for shelter. cue ROMK, where bandee has to see his big sister ready to invade the one place that took him in after she left. they've made amends after meta knight was unbanished from dreamland, but they both know they'll never be as close as they once were.

Eddie nods, giddy. “Yeah, Buck.” He sees the crackly smudge of chocolate on Buck’s face and smiles, terribly fond. “C’mere.”

“Huh?” Buck asks, confused, but he steps closer nonetheless. “Oh.”

“You’ve got something on your cheek.” Eddie grabs a clean rag, runs it beneath the faucet until it’s warm, and gently rubs Buck’s cheek until the mess is wiped away. “All done. Your pretty face is clean again.”

Buck stares, bug-eyed and slack-jawed and a little silly. They’re close—so close Eddie can see the freckles across Buck’s nose and cheeks and forehead, a whole galaxy of orange and brown and red. Eddie wants to count them like Chris wanted to count the stars when he was younger. The pink blush is back, rosy and bright. Eddie wishes he knew what it meant.

He sniffs. “Let me grab Chris and we’ll head that way.”

Buck blinks, finally, and says, “Okay,” in a quiet, soft voice. “I’ll get my shoes and wait for you two.”

Lan Wangji usually acted like Wei Wuxian didn’t exist, sometimes going so far as to put a silencing spell on him. Rude. Wei Wuxian would then retaliate by making silly faces at Lan Wangji, but the moon spirit didn’t even seem to notice. There were a few times Wei Wuxian considered just telling Lan Wangji that he was the sun spirit. He promised the Jiangs that he wouldn’t reveal his true identity to anyone, but surely Lan Wangji didn’t count? However, in the end Wei Wuxian decided against it. Maybe he would have felt differently if Lan Wangji had been more open to his friendship from the start, but Wei Wuxian knew that if he told Lan Wangji they were soulmates now and Lan Wangji changed his tune, a part of Wei Wuxian would always wonder if it was only out of a sense of responsibility.
