The Fierce Deity, being the blacksmith of the Gods, forged not only his great sword, Demise's Broadsword and the Goddess Sword, he also forged the Great Fairy Sword, Lokomo Sword, Koholint Sword, Magical Sword and he taught the Picori and Zauz how to forge magic imbued weapons. The Sword of the Six Sages was an attempt to replicate The Fierce Deity's work.

This is technically a wip coz I’m absolutely not finishing this metal fuck so late at night. Uh, Lokomo Sword spirit design, their name is Traian to follow the theme of Lokomos being word puns on train stuff. They’re main inspo was flamenco dance and then other aspects where inspired by these;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know it’s only the side view and yes, they do have a second arm - I wanted it out the way to show other parts of the design. So pointy Lokomo features are included like their very pointed nose and I did want to find some way to include the Spirit of Good’s emblem and the little things the Lokomo drive on but I couldn’t unfortunately. I did make them more feminine and based off of Fi, but also kinda Ghirahim since they’re both the only instances of sword spirits (might make more for other swords, it’s quite fun tbh), but I purposefully made them look a bit older to imitate the Lokomo and also because you get the sword quite late into the game than the Master Sword in other games. On the fence on whether I should give them fem pronouns or keep it androgynous yk?
Anyways, I also like the idea of Traian becoming more ghostly and washed-out when low on energy, a bit like Zelda, but they also are kinda see-through normally anyway, there just isn’t an easy way to portray it tbh. They’re very metallic and kinda glittery like a glitter gel pen and they lose that sparkle when the sword needs to be recharged. Unlike Fi, they technically have hands but they’re swamped in all the ruffles of those sleeves, but don’t have legs. Bit of a swap to keep it interesting and also obvious Lokomo stuff.

lore wise lokomos r cool as shit btw. like servants of the spirits who reincarnate constantly? muisc magic, divine power, why tf is no one drawing on thios shit for the first hero...forget the Sheikah Link hcs i want Lokomo Link...
also also the Lokomo turn into spirits kinda like the Maidens did in Four Swords Adventures? Lokomo  r color codded too like the Maidens...and they gave Link a holy sword on par w/ the Master Sword w/ sealing abilities and a light aspect not to mention the wing imagery and yellow gem making it look like a sister sword to the Master Sword more than Demise’s Sword ever did...the Lokomo look human enough and as Bryne has shown they r not all elders or wheel chair bound...sent from the gods to help out the mortals. im just saying whatever the FUCK Sages and Maidens r so r Lokomo bc even in different forms they r all one race imo at least in soul, also maybe Link was originally one of them??? Hylia/Zelda too? girl i have so many thoughts in my head rn what a phenomenal game...

what's a secret about the Palace AU that you WON'T reveal in the fic?
Oooh tough question
mmmm let me look at my notes
Okay so, Legend isn't the only one in the Palace Group who will go through the Palace of the Four Sword twice! Wind's gonna go back to his time determined to find his version and free Four as well. Ever wondered why the Spirit Tracks go underneath the sea? Well there you have it.
Though that version of Four doesn't go on LU, so he and his Dot might never see the original children again... maybe. This whole thing is time travel shenanigans, so I bet I could figure out at least some way to work things out.

If I were to make the next Zelda game, what would I change?
Bring back underwater traversal and real Water Temples.
If you were to think about any iconic Zelda item that isn't a weapon, you'd most likely think about the hook/clawshot. I like that we can climb, but I miss the claw/hookshot. Personally, I'd have the Skyward Sword climbing mechanics where you can climb a little bit but not much, but make it so that the hook/clawshot can go on any surface. Even better is a double claw/hookshot so you can swing around like Spider-Man
Linkle. That's right, from the original Hyrule Warriors spin-off game. It would be cool if we got to choose to play as Link or Linkle at the beginning of the game. Make it so that Link can't get into Gerudo Town without a disguise like in Breath of the Wild, but also make it so Linkle can't get into Goron City without a disguise, that way it's even and there's no major advantage.
If Linkle can't be an option, I'd have Link be a different race than Hylian. Tears of the Kingdom already teased us with this concept with the Ancient Hero. Before TotK, the closest we got was Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask Link who thought he was a Kokiri but found out that he was in fact Hylian and also had ghost masks to shapeshift into other races. (Or you could also add Linkle as this race too. But I think that's a bit much)
20 hearts OR harder enemies. With BotW, Link had 30 hearts. In literally every other Zelda game he had 20. With 30 hearts, it was a decent change in normal mode, but in Master Mode, it made it essential. Enemies did more damage and evolved from their normal mode counterparts. In TotK, Link has 40 hearts and no Master Mode. The enemies do basically the same damage as in BotW's normal mode and sometimes even far less with the decayed-unfused weapons. So I would make the series go back to 20 hearts or have Master Mode as the default difficulty.
A new fast travel system. Look, shrines were a good idea. Especially for a fast travel system, but if we're getting rid of the 10-20 extra hearts how I would do it, we need something else. For this, let's turn to Skyrim for just a second. The fast travel system there is broken because every cave, tower, dungeon, etc. is a fast travel point, but let's look at the towns/cities and important landmarks: they're fast travel points once we discover them. So let's turn those things into fast travel points in this hypothetical Zelda game. Now, what about the less significant parts of the map? Well, a few train stations around the map with a train. I mean, trains are in the Zelda universe. Spirit Tracks literally is about that, so it wouldn't be a big deal. I had this idea back in 2021, and now even fucking Fortnite has a train around a map with a few train stations in random spots.
This one will make a bit more sense if you read my "If I were to make a Zelda game, what would I keep?" post. Heart Pieces/Stamina pieces. You could go the normal route with 4 pieces makes a full thing or go Twilight Princess style with 5 pieces makes a full thing. These would probably be given as quest rewards in quests that are Side Adventures rather than Main Quests or Side Quests. Side quests would give you rupees or a rare item and Main Quests will give you more story progression.
Bring back the "one-and-done" races like the Kokiri, Twili, Minish, Zonai, Lokomo, etc.

[ID: A lineup of the artist's designs for 12 Links. In order of height, from left to right, their nicknames are Tiny, Mask, Sky, Four, Shadow, Sailor, Tracks, Fairy, Glam, Slate, Vet and Rancher.
Tiny (Minish Cap) is 21 and uses he/she. He’s very small and slight. She has a healthy tan, hazel eyes, and wavy, light blonde hair tucked into the classic green windsock hat. He wears the Roc's Cape, a green dress in which the skirt mimics the forest minish’, black leggings, light brown gloves and boots, and a black waist apron. A golden chain strapped to her belt holds kinstones and a charm that resembles Ezlo. He holds up a mallet in his left hand. He has a resting bitch face.
Mask (Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask) is around 12 and uses they/them. They're short and stocky with baby fat still on their cheeks. They have light brown skin, dark brown eyes, and poofy straight blonde hair that goes just past their chin. They wear a Kokiri tunic and boots, a baldric across their chest, a joy pendant and silver earrings. They have the Kokiri sword strapped to their hip and hold the Fierce Deity mask in their left hand, looking off to the side curiously.
Sky (Skyward Sword) is 20 and uses he/him. He's short and stocky, built of healthy fat and muscle. He has light skin, blue eyes, and slightly curly, light brown hair that frames his face and goes to his shoulders. He has a green tunic and gold chainmail, as well as pants, boots and fingerless gloves. His sailcloth is pinned over his right shoulder and his loftwing's feathers are tucked behind his left ear. He has no visible weapons. He has an easy going smile on his face despite being tired.
Four (Four Swords Adventures) is 18 and pronouns match fronter(s). Four is on the thinner and shorter side. Four has light skin, grey eyes, and a short blonde bob pulled back with a dark grey headband. Four wears a white-and-grey four-panel tunic embroidered in gold with the elements and the hilt of the Four Sword. Said blade rests on Four's hip. Four wears a dark grey longsleeve shirt and pants with boots. Four gestures with a hand, looking a bit scandalized and annoyed.
Shadow (Four Swords Adventures) is about 18 and uses he/it. He’s skinny and a bit short. It has light, purplish skin, red eyes, and scruffy purple hair tied in a low ponytail. It has a scar on its left cheek resembling a shattered mirror. He wears a black hood over his black, four-panel tunic, pants and boots, the hood tip flickering with dark magic. It floats with a hand on his hip, the other alight with a dark flame. He smirks, showing off a fang.
Sailor (Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass) is 17 and uses he/it. He’s lean and short. It has light brown skin, brown eyes, and very short curly, light blonde hair tucked into a green bandana. He wears a cyan tunic with the crayfish of his casual wear, a green sash, russet pants and sandals. The Phantom Sword hangs on its hip and it wears various gold jewelry, including a joy pendant. He brandishes the Wind Waker with a confident grin.
Tracks (Spirit Tracks) is 14 and uses she/they. She's a little chubby and of average height. She has brown skin, dark brown eyes, and a short golden bob that frames her cheeks. They wear an engineer’s uniform, stained with soot and oil, a red bandana tied around her neck, and gloves and boots. Her right sleeve is tied just under the shoulder due to her amputated limb. The Lokomo Sword is on their right hip and a chain of keys hangs from their belt. She adjusts her hat with an easygoing grin.
Fairy (Legend of Zelda 1986 and Adventure of Link) is 18 and uses he/fae and mirror pronouns. He’s skinny and a bit lean. Fae has brown skin with freckles, dark brown eyes and chin-length dark brown curls. Faer bangs are clipped out of faer face with barrettes. He wears a short, dark green poncho with 3 rounded points, the back two mimicking fairy wings. Underneath, he wears a green tunic, an orangish-brown longsleeve shirt, and brown shorts and gloves. Fae goes barefoot, faer legs exposed with several bandages and scars on them. The Magic Sword and an empty potion bottle hang from his hips.
Glam (A Link Between Worlds and Triforce Heroes) is 22 and uses he/him. He's fat with some muscle. He has light brown skin with vitiligo and stretchmarks, red eyes and short, curly blonde hair with brown roots, going just past his chin. He wears a long, pastel green dress under a brown and pink apron stained with paint. He wears simple boots and Ravio’s bracelet. He holds the skirt of his dress with his right hand and smiles.
Slate (Breath of the Wild) is 20 and defaults to they/them and is also genderfluid. They're quite skinny and lean, favoring speed over strength. They have light skin with lots of visible scarring, cyan eyes, and long, choppy, dirty blonde hair in a braid that reaches their waist. They wear the champion's tunic, a hylian hood, pants boots and fingerless gloves, and the Sheikah Slate on their hip. They rest their hand on their other hip and give a closed-eyed smile.
Vet (A Link to the Past, Oracle of Ages/Seasons, and Link’s Awakening) is 24 and uses she/her. She's a bit skinny, taller than most of the others, with plenty of muscle hidden by baggy clothing. She has warm light skin, purple eyes, and a short pink bob with sidelocks that touch her collarbone. She wears a long green dress, pegasus boots, a brown longsleeve undershirt, and a purple scarf. She has a messenger’s bag over her shoulder, the tempered sword on her hip, the pendants of virtue on a necklace, and various gold jewelry. A decorated cane hangs on her back for when she needs help walking. She has a hand on her bag, looking over her shoulder with a flat face.
Rancher (Twilight Princess) is 19 and uses he/him. He's tall and has very strong arms. He has light brown skin, hazel eyes, and reddish-brown hair that's shorter in the back. He wears an altered version of the ranching outfit, with the green sleeve removed, pants traded for a skirt, and sandals traded for sturdy boots. He has no visible weapons. He looks a bit rugged, with several visible scars (thanks to exposing clothing) and sharp teeth, but is fairly welcoming and friendly in demeanor. He has a hand on his hip and a piece of barley in his mouth. End ID]
updated links meet au!! i didn't touch it at all in the past year but i wanted to start making stuff for it. unfortunately the old stuff was a bit outdated so i updated them
for a long list of personal hcs canon to the au, hit the cut!
Tiny
agender, likes girls (in a relationship with zelda)
talks aloud
was 12 during minish cap, which took about a week
stopped growing at age 12 (during her adventure) due to transformation side effects
resting bitch face and flat effect. tends to come off as apathetic but he cares A Lot
a large part of her magical ability comes from minish magic (transformation side effects)
when he shrinks, he becomes a minish (transformation side effects). this is not what usually happens but he used the portals enough that it did happen
his mallet is charmed to change sizes from something he can use in the forge to a weapon to bludgeon monsters with
has surpassed her grandfather as royal smith
incredibly wary of dark/black magic
Mask
enby and pan (currently has a crush on malon)
signs
was 10-17 for ocarina of time, and got yeeted right back in time to when it started post oot. maybe 6 months later, they set out in search of navi (majora's mask). hyrule warriors also happened about a half year later
common pattern is they get plopped back where they were before the adventure
they aren't very sure of their age and tend to age slide due to this—when asked, they go by physical age (this is why they are roughly 12)
skittish about forming relationships because they fear they'll be forgotten again. they try to act like a little brat to ward people away (surprise: it doesn't work)
as they chill out, they're less hostile but they're still a trickster
transformation side effects really freak them out + they'll try to “fix” it
has an incredible internal clock
Sky
trans and bi, in a polycule with groose and zelda
talks aloud
17 during skyward sword, which took about 10 months
his crimson loftwing isn't “special” bc that's kinda silly (to me). her name is epona
“i miss my bird, tails. i miss her a lot”
refuses to carry a sword around because wielding anything but fi feels strange. he is still the best at swordplay out of all of them, even if he's a bit rusty
the mom friend—but not overbearing, more like he'll fight someone to the death if they hurt his family
nerve damage in his right hand from catching lightning. tremors, pins and needles, etc. doesn't shake when holding a sword, oddly enough
chronic fatigue, narcoleptic
Four
all four speak aloud
16 for four swords adventures, took a little under a year. four and zelda revive shadow when they're 18
four is plural and is not usually in the same body, four does it sometimes for masking purposes (four's not too great at it)
the fronter wears their elemental charm
red (any pronouns, genderqueer, likes girls) is energetic and mischievous. he has the best emotional intelligence of the four. situational arsonist. likes to cook and bake. volunteers at lonlon ranch and dates malon
green (he/him, agender, likes boys) is good at taking charge within the group and is good at management, but sucks when it comes to interpersonal conflict and gets self conscious. he's very aware of his strengths and flaws, and acts accordingly. likes to carve wood, train, and ride epona
blue (she/her, trans girl, lesbian) is headstrong and knows her strengths. she likes to joke and tease but sometimes can go a bit too far. likes to sew, train and spar. dating erune
vio (they/them, nonbinary, greyaroace) is stubborn and dislikes not getting their way. they like to plan and come up with ideas or experiments, which are either great or horrible, no inbetween. they like to read and tend to plants.
Shadow
gendervoid, greyaro pansexual (in a qpr with zelda)
talks aloud
age is a bit questionable. are you 18 if you were mirrored from someone who was physically 16, then you died when you both were 17 and got revived? who knows
recently revived from the dark mirror! he's more or less a hylian now, but with dark magic. not as powerful as during fsa
is really, really close to his links and/or four. they tend to sleep in a dogpile
wears a cloak to protect itself from the sun
usually hostile and assumes the worst of people. conversely, gets attached very easily to people who show it kindness
Sailor
agender, aroace (considering a relationship with tetra)
will cycle between speaking aloud and signing
12 for wind waker which took a little over a year, 15 for phantom hourglass, hyrule warriors hasn't occurred yet
loves to entertain children with dramatized tales of his adventures
still carries aryll's telescope as a good luck charm
loves to brag about how cool its sister is
recycled the hero's tunic into a sash and bandana so it'd actually wear it
replaced the center gem of the joy pendant with a pirate stone! likes to lend stones out when they separate into groups
congenital hard of hearing. was shy as a kid, especially due to widespread sign language being lost with the great flood, but eventually learned how to sign and speak aloud. very good at lipreading. now will never shut up. likes to talk loudly and hear his own voice
Tracks
demigirl, lesbian (dating zelda)
signs. it takes a bit longer because some signs are unavailable
was 12 for spirit tracks, took half a year
enjoys coming up with outlandish tales on how they lost their arm
generally pretty open and friendly, except for when they're tired or pissed off by someone
sees ghosts
Fairy
agender, aroace
signs
was 12 for legend of zelda 1986, which took a year and a couple months, and 16 for adventure of link which took a year
has some fairy blood, when he left calatia at age 10 fairies helped guide him and taught him a bit about magic
shy sweetheart at first, but when fae opens up to you fae likes to play minor pranks and jokes (he, sailor and mask like to team up on pranks)
very good at foraging and other various wildlife skills, yet gets lost even with a map in front of him
Glam
trans and gay (currently single)
tends to speak aloud, signs when exhausted
was 17 for link between worlds, which took a year, and 19 for triforce heroes, which took half a year
is a blacksmith. does everyday supplies like nails, tools, utensils, etc, but can also craft weapons if necessary. forges all his own weapons
he and tiny compare blacksmithing techniques
paints and does art in his off time. it was originally a coping mechanism he, zelda, and the sages attempted, but he ended up really enjoying it and continued afterwards
the stereotypical camp gay. likes ‘feminine’ things like makeup, fashion and skirts
lives with ravio + is married to him for tax benefits/citizenship reasons. they're gay but not for each other
Slate
genderfluid, pan (defaults to they/them, in a qpr with zelda)
signs, uses the slate as augmentative/alternative communication when necessary
was (1)17 for botw, which took over a year and a half
likes to talk about their amazing friends
had plenty of time to confront their trauma and is proud of their land and people for returning after the calamity
knows every nook and cranny of their era's hyrule
doesn't know the difference between edible and poisonous. still manages to make delicious food that no one throws up later
totk is semi-canon, as in a lot of the setup is established, but the actual game events haven't occurred
Vet
trans, lesbian (grieving marin)
usually signs unless she has something to say and nobody's listening to her
kinda bitter due to grief, doesn't talk much unless she's being a know-it-all
hoarder. has lots of duplicate items or items with the most ridiculous purposes
wears marin's necklace under her tunic
as she deals with her trauma, she becomes more animated and sweet. it's not just marin she has to work through, though
also, marin is from the adult timeline just after the great flood and believes link has died. oops!
Rancher
trans, straight
speaks aloud
was 17 for twilight princess, which took a year and a half
still a bit hung up on midna leaving
closeted emo
trying really, really hard to fit into his lifestyle pre-adventure but is failing
knows he looks threatening so he tries to tone it down. it doesn't work all the time, especially when he gets angry
initially hated to leave ordon again, but he finally feels good again so he's conflicted
midna taught him her twili abilities towards the end because she knew she'd have to leave. he's still pretty good at them
sharp teeth and sharp nails (transformation side effects)
note about hyrule warriors: due to its status as not canon in the timeline but the appeal of time shenanigans, i've decided it has a tenuous place in the timeline. it's schrodinger's cat—it happened and a lot of the people involved in the war remember it, but it caused a time paradox, it's not written in the history books, and most peoples' memory of it was erased. hyrule warriors link will not be showing up but he may be mentioned at times.

LINK, FROM OUTSET ISLAND Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, Hyrule Warriors
[From my original Linkverse, That Broken Promise]
GENDER: Male (amab) PRONOUNS: He/Him HEIGHT: 5'1" AGE: 22 HEALTH: Mostly blind [macular degeneration], severe flogging scars
WEAPONS: Staff, Seabreeze Boomerang ITEMS: Telescope, Grappling Hook, Power bracelets SPELLS: Magic Armour
On his twelfth birthday, Outset crossed paths with the Helmaroc King when it kidnapped his little sister. With the help of Tetra, he met the King of Red Lions who was the transformed King of Hyrule from the distant past. He opened the Tower of the Gods, retrieved and revived the Master Sword, and defeated Ganondorf with Tetra's aid beneath the seas. After, he left his home with her and was drawn into saving Oshus, the Ocean King, from the predation of Bellum before they made their way to new lands. However, their first landing ended in disaster with the Admiral of Gamelon attempting to kill him. They retreated to “cursed” lands nearby, under the watchful eye of the Lokomo Anjean where they stayed while he recovered. His recovery, however, was interrupted and he and Tetra were both drawn into the timeline holes created by Cia’s near death. They gave what aid they could, given his condition, and before too much time had passed they could return to their new lands.
Outset is a gregarious, fiercely independent person who is loathe to admit his limitations. He will try anything that seems fun, and only ask for help after he's started nine times out of ten. While he and Tetra founded New Hyrule, they were only so many people. At present, they’re focused on bringing people back and often they get sidetracked by random whim.
Outset speaks easily and is technically literate, but he can no longer see well enough to read or write. He also does not know, nor see well enough to understand sign language most of the time.
Outset is mostly interested in women but is game to try almost anything. He is a little shy about new people and picky about how they treat him with regards to his blindness. He’s never had a serious relationship, and he and Tetra have only recently gotten over a long fight about her feelings of guilt about when he lost his sight.
CURRENT MEDIA: Though There Be Fury On The Waves, rated E for violence Two WIP
Songs from the playlist for Outset: Go The Distance, by Michael Bolton Sea of No Cares, by Great Big Sea Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely), by P!nk

Zelda Theory: Fi the Fairy Queen
Okay, so this post by @twilight-linkess inspired me to move forward with a theory I had. This got way too long. Ye who travel onward beware. Here there be theories.
The gist of my theory is that Fi is a fully matured Fairy Queen and that Fairy Queen is a specific species of fairy. I also think Fi and all fairies (Fairy Queens, Great Fairies, Fairies, etc.) are  raised to help heroes with their magic.  With Fi, I think she excelled as a fairy which ended with her earning the title of “Sword Spirit.” And maybe was specially chosen for her particular set of skills to be the Fairy that would inhabit the Master Sword for thousands of years.
If this is of interest to you, I have some more to say...A lot more to say.
So first things first.
Here is a Fairy Queen from The Wind Waker:
Tumblr media
And here is an image of Fi from Skyward Sword:
Tumblr media
These two look so so so so similar. Everything from base color palette to hair and nearly unreadable facial expression, with solid color eyes. The biggest difference being that the Fairy Queen from Wind Waker looks like a child but is apparently “much older,” according to the ZeldaWiki.
But if Fairy Queens were a specific subspecies of fairies, they could potentially have a lifespan of tens of thousands of years, meaning even if she is “old” by Hylian standards or Zora standards, or what have you, she could theoretically still be a child by Fairy standards.
The Fairy Queen and Fi also have similar powers.
The Fairy Queen in Wind Waker has weapon based abilities. I have yet to play WW, but according to the wiki, her specific ability is she imbues arrows with ice or fire powers.
Maybe each type of fairy has their special magic category. Fairy Queens are weapon/item related. Great Fairies are health or armor related, depending on the refinement of their ability. Regular Fairies are healing powers only. Etc.
And going off that, maybe at a young age, Fairy Queens would still have elemental or weapon-based magic, but would only be able to supply a smaller bit of magic to weapons and items such as adding elemental attacks.
Then as Fairy Queens age, they refine their subset of powers and undergo some form of coming of age ceremony where they are finally able to adopt a weapon form or are able to more powerfully perform elemental attacks. Like I dunno, harnessing the wind perhaps? Which takes us to the Gale Boomerang.
First, take a look at some details on the Gale Boomerang:
Tumblr media
And some details on the Master Sword:
Tumblr media
And some details on Fi’s body:
Tumblr media
These inlaid gems are notably missing from the child-like Fairy Queen from Wind Waker, supporting the theory that she has yet to undergo her coming of age to become an item or weapon meant to aid the hero.
Fi on the other hand would have already undergone her coming of age, and based on her very terrible social skills and obsession with percentages, she was probably a prodigy even among Fairy Queens, resulting in her being specially chosen by Hylia to be a Sword Spirit. Tasked with assisting Hylia in creating one of the most powerful type of weapons heroes will use: A blade that seals darkness.
In Fi’s case, she was to become the Goddess Sword/Master Sword. But maybe the Four Sword, Lokomo Sword, Phantom Hourglass Sword, Great Fairy Sword, and Fierce Diety Sword are also Sword Spirit weapons crafted by a god and a Fairy Queen.
Anywho, that was a bit of a tangent, so what about the Fairy of Winds? What do they have to do with this again?
Well, Fi is a spirit that inhabits the Master Sword, which can talk to Link (and Zelda).
And the Gale Boomerang is another weapon with a spirit that can also talk to Link (and probably Zelda).
If both of these items are weapons with spirits bound to help the hero and they can both talk to the hero who wields them, (given that they still have enough strength and energy to do so), isn’t it possible that the Fairy of Winds and Fi are the same type of being? In this case, Fairy Queens?
If so, the Fairy of Winds may have at one point been able to manifest a physical body like Fi’s does in Skyward Sword after they inhabited the Gale Boomerang. Which I think is a pretty neat idea.
And I like to think that if the Fairy of Winds were able to manifest, she would have similar diamonds on her chest and head, she would probably be dressed slightly different, and she would probably have different base colors.
And—
Wait...
There is another weapon that can do all these things as well now that I think about it.
I’ll be right back.
Tumblr media
Okay.
Look ye upon Ghirahim:
Tumblr media
Did you notice he also has those diamonds? And the hair? And the eyes? And he can turn into a weapon? And he can talk to the hero as well as the person who wields him?
Because he can!
Which means...
Tumblr media
That’s right!
Ghirahim would ALSO have to be a Fairy Queen. Or a Fairy King, perhaps?
Ahhh!
((Okay, future Ani here. This all starts to devolve into pure insanity and  headcanon from here on so like, if you’re anybody is still around and still reading, feel free to stop reading now. Or carry on. Thanks for reading this far. 😅 ))
Okay hear me out. But like, what if Fairy Queens/Kings are all inherently good from the beginning? Because their purpose is to help heroes. That would mean there is a chance that Ghirahim was at one point good. Possibly really good at performing Fairy Queen/King magic even. Maybe even a contender for being chosen as the spirit for the Master Sword. Maybe he resented the fact that Fi was chosen over him and Demise saw the opportunity to act, corrupting Ghirahim forever.
Or maybe Ghirahim was the first Sword Spirit, but was eventually forgotten after Fi came into being centuries later. The new and improved Ghirahim. And then Ghirahim and Demise both fell to the darkness of envy, corrupting both of them forever as Fi and Hylia took center stage among the gods.
Man, I have many new headcanons about an entire race of Fairy Queens and Kings that I need to make more notes about now.
All I can think is that they train for millennia to hone their skills as children, then as they get older they must undergo their own trials, just as Link must in the various games. This is turning into an anime in my head now...I have a problem.
But seriously!
Maybe the better they perform in their trials, the more glorious the weapon they turn into.
So for the Fairy of Winds, they weren’t the top of their class like Fi or Ghirahim who earned the Sword Spirit title, rather they earned the opportunity to be a magic item that would forever be passed down among heroes to aid them in their quest. Maybe they couldn’t be a Sword Spirit because their elemental magic was too good to be anything but an item tied to their area of expertise.
And like, what if as the years go by, the magic drains the fairy of their vitality?
Everything gets more difficult with age.
Even for fairies.
That’s why the Gale Boomerang speaks only once to Link in TP. She is old and tired, but still willing to help, even if this is the last of her magic.
The same problem can be seen with Fi in BOTW. It’s why Fi can no longer manifest a physical body and can rarely speak anymore. 10,000 years was a long time, even my Fairy Queen standards. She finds herself resting more frequently and for longer intervals, but she has a duty. What if she feels like Link falling was her fault in her old age? (I’ve seen fics on this and they have been great, btw.)
Maybe in the next game, Link will have to put Fi to rest and transfer a new Fairy soul into the Master Sword. Or maybe another sword will need to be forged with a new Sword Spirit.
Ya know....just some thoughts I’ve had. Definitely revamped after that comic.
I’m hyped.
Thanks for reading!

I didn't notice I wrote "A link between worlds" 2 times instead albw and botw. Here's the new poll, the other is gettiong deleted rn!
Anyway 10 games left!
Round 8!! It's getting difficult, isn't it?
During the last round we lost Spirit Tracks. If I were to remove 2 games, I should have picked TotK too, as it's the second most voted, but I prefer to just yeet only the most voted out.
Spirit Tracks... I like it. The story should have been better, I don't really like the Lokomos, but Byrne's arc is great! Also the pan flute was kinda hard to play but satisfying nonetheless! And playable Zelda was the best mechanics in the game (the worst were the evil trains)! It was also the third best Zelink after SkSw and TotK!
Back to the poll, remember to vote the game you think is the worst out of these in the list! Please don't vote a game if you don't know it! Knowing means having played the game (even not completed), watched a gameplay, read the wiki! Having read the manga is ok too, I can't think of any other things rn but I hope you got what I mean :D
Reblogs are appreciated, since for obvious reasons I won't tag this as Linked Universe, but the majority of my interactions come from that fandom!
<< Previous round

Historically inspired Engie, or Spirit? I've heard both, so use whichever you prefer! For this one I went with a 19th century train conductor look, I guess he got a promotion!
The gun is based on 19th century percussion revolvers and has a color scheme based on the Lokomo sword from the game, unfortunately the design how it is now wouldn't actually work but at that perspective it was gonna be more of a pain to fix than I wanted to deal with, next time I'll fix it though! Gave him a coal shovel as his other hand, thought it would be fitting haha.
Quite happy with how the shading came out on this one. Special thanks to @nancyheart11 for her help with the outfit design! go follow her!

Location name references in Breath of the Wild
A year or so ago, I went through the location names in Breath of the Wild and tried to find out which names reference previous things from the series. The following is an overview of everything I was able to find back then. Will be taking this region by region and adding some observations where relevant. I also think most of these names are the same in Tears of the Kingdom but I know at least a few changed, so all of this may not apply to that game. Of note is also that I am leaving out the more obvious ones like Gerudo Desert, Lake Hylia, Death Mountain and the Lost Woods as these tend to be well-known. This focuses on the slightly more obscure ones.
I do want to point out one major one though: the Hebra Region (ヘブラ地方). This is actually a reference to A Link to the Past, A Link Between Worlds and Four Swords Adventures. In the former two, the main name of Death Mountain in the Japanese version is ヘブラ山 or Hebra Mountain. In Four Swords Adventures meanwhile, there is a minor region on Death Mountain called Hebra's Hill (ヘブラの丘). But let's get into the more minor references.
Gerudo Region
Tumblr media
Arbiter's Grounds = Arbiter's Grounds from Twilight Princess
Spectacle Rock = Spectacle Rock from The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II and A Link to the Past. Many similar locations, sometimes with similar names, have also appeared throughout the series.
Koukot Plateau = the names of Koume and Kotake, who together make up Twinrova, smashed together. They appear in Ocarina of Time, the Oracle games and the memories in Tears of the Kingdom.
Mount Nabooru = Nabooru from Ocarina of Time and Nabooru Town from Zelda II.
Yarna Valley = Yarna Desert from Link's Awakening.
East Gerudo Mesa = Gerudo Mesa from Twilight Princess.
Overall, this region has few references, mostly centered around deserts and the Gerudo people. The only odd one out is Spectacle Rock, which is usually located in the north of Hyrule on Death Mountain.
South of Lake Hylia
Tumblr media
Parache Plains (テトラ平原/Tetra Plains) = Tetra (テトラ/Tetra)
Faron region
Tumblr media
Lake Floria/Floria River/Floria Bridge/Floria Falls = Lake Floria from Skyward Sword.
Martha's Landing = Martha's Bay from Link's Awakening.
Tuft Mountain = King Tuft from Tri Force Heroes.
Toronbo Beach = Toronbo Shores from Link's Awakening.
Koholit Rock = Koholint Island from Link's Awakening.
There is no real theme here, aside from the locations on Eventide Island referencing Link's Awakening, as the whole island is a reference to that game. This region also contains the only reference in Breath of the Wild to Tri Force Heroes.
Great Plateau and southwestern Hyrule Field
Tumblr media
Digdogg Suspension Bridge = Digdogger from The Legend of Zelda and Oracle of Seasons.
Manhalna Bridge = Manhandla from The Legend of Zelda, Oracle of Seasons and Four Swords Adventures.
Gleeok Bridge = Gleeok from The Legend of Zelda, Oracle of Seasons, Phantom Hourglass and Tears of the Kingdom.
Aquame Bridge = Aquamentus from The Legend of Zelda and Oracle of Seasons.
Mount Daphnes = King Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule from The Wind Waker.
Lake Kolomo/Kolomo Garrison Ruins = the Lokomo from Spirit Tracks.
Forest of Time = Forest of Time from Oracle of Ages.
Temple of Time = Temple of Time from Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. The appearance of the structure most closely resembles the Ocarina of Time incarnation.
The bridges here are named after bosses from the first Zelda games, which is a running theme with the bridges around Hyrule Field. The other bridges are named after bosses from the other NES Zelda game, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, however.
Kakariko Village and Southeastern Hyrule Field
Tumblr media
Proxim Bridge (モヨリ橋/Moyori Bridge) = Aboda Village (モヨリ村/Moyori Village) from Spirit Tracks.
Owlan Bridge = Owlan from Skyward Sword.
Horwell Bridge = Horwell from Skyward Sword.
Eagus Bridge = Eagus from Skyward Sword.
Batrea Lake = Batreaux from Skyward Sword.
Nabi Lake = Navi from Ocarina of Time.
Mable Ridge = Maple from the Oracle games and A Link to the Past (GBA).
Sahasra Slope = Sahasrahla from A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds.
Telta Lake = Tatl from Majora's Mask.
Lake Siela = Ciela from Phantom Hourglass.
Pillars of Levia = Levias from Skyward Sword.
Bonooru's Stand = Bonooru from Ocarina of Time.
Pierre Plateau = Pierre from Ocarina of Time and (maybe) Majora's Mask.
The island in the southeast of Hyrule Field is centered around Skyward Sword references, while the area around Kakariko Village contains references to helpful characters from throughout the series: companions and friendly NPCs. If I had to hazard a guess, this is a general reference to the Sheikah's and Impa's supporting roles throughout the series, as Kakariko Village is their home in Breath of the Wild.
Tabantha and Hyrule Ridge
Tumblr media
Kolami Bridge = Komali from The Wind Waker.
Seres Scablands = Seres from A Link Between Worlds.
Breach of Demise = Demise from Skyward Sword.
This region contains relatively few references. This is of note because there is only one reference made to the Rito from The Wind Waker, which makes sense considering the Rito live in Tabantha in Breath of the Wild. However, there were a lot of named Rito that appeared in The Wind Waker and only one is referenced in Breath of the Wild. This is especially notable as there are a lot of references to individual Zoras, Koroks/Kokiri and Gorons in other regions of the map.
Northern Hyrule Field
Tumblr media
Carok Bridge = Carock from Zelda II.
Helmhead Bridge = Helmethead from Zelda II.
Rebonae Bridge = Rebonack from Zelda II.
Orsedd Bridge = Horsehead from Zelda II.
Mount Gustaf = King Gustaf from The Minish Cap.
Mabe Village Ruins/Mabe Prairie = Mabe Village from Link's Awakening.
Romani Plains = Romani and Romani Ranch from Majora's Mask.
Rauru Settlement Ruins/Rauru Hillside = Rauru from Ocarina of Time and Tears of the Kingdom and Rauru Town from Zelda II.
Crenell Hills/Crenel Peak = Mt. Crenel from The Minish Cap.
Thims Bridge = Smith from The Minish Cap.
Minshi Woods = Minish Woods from The Minish Cap.
Pico Pond = the Picori from The Minish Cap.
Trilby Plain = Trilby Highlands from The Minish Cap.
Here we see the rest of the bridges that reference the NES games. The eastern island and area further to the northeast in general contain many references to The Minish Cap (not pictured here is also the Trilby Valley that also references that game). Mount Gustaf to the west meanwhile is one of three mountains that references a king of Hyrule: we also have Mount Daphnes mentioned earlier and Mount Rhoam in Hyrule Ridge, which of course references king Rhoam from Breath of the Wild itself. Finally, the places named after Rauru could be named after the sage from Ocarina of Time, but it is also possible they reference the first king of Hyrule from Tears of the Kingdom. It depends on how much of Tears of the Kingdom's story was conceptualized when Breath of the Wild first released.
Lanayru Region
Tumblr media
Trilby Valley = Trilby Highlands from The Minish Cap.
Zauz Island = Zauz from Phantom Hourglass.
Linebeck Island = Linebeck from Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks.
Mercay Island = Mercay Island from Phantom Hourglass.
Molida Island = Molida Island from Phantom Hourglass.
Bannan Island = Bannan Island from Phantom Hourglass.
Goponga Island/Goponga Village RUins = Goponga Swamp from Link's Awakening.
Inogo Bridge = The Indigo-Go's from Majora's Mask.
Tabahl Woods = Tabahl Wasteland from Link's Awakening.
Zodobon Highlands = King Zora de Bon XIV from Ocarina of Time.
Oren Bridge = Oren from A Link Between Worlds.
Ralis Pond = Prince Ralis from Twilight Princess.
Luto's Crossing = Laruto from The Wind Waker.
Rutala River/Rutala Dam = Queen Rutela from Twilight Princess.
Ruto Mountain/Ruto Lake/Ruto Precipice = Princess Ruto from Ocarina of Time and Ruto Town from Zelda II.
Toto Lake = Toto from Majora's Mask.
Mikau Lake = Mikau from Majora's Mask.
Lulu Lake = Lulu from Majora's Mask.
Ja'Abu Ridge = Lord Jabu-Jabu from Ocarina of Time and Oracle of Ages.
Veiled Falls = Veil Falls from The Minish Cap.
Lanayru has a pretty clear division, with the western Wetlands mostly referencing Phantom Hourglass and the eastern Great Spring containing many references to Zoras and characters relating to the Zoras. We also see a few stray references to Link's Awakening and Veil Falls from The Minish Cap. This is notable because in that game, Veil Falls act as the source of Hyrule's water, which is also often the case for Zora's Domain whenever it appears in the series (and so too in Breath of the Wild).
Lanayru Bay
Tumblr media
Samasa Plain = Samasa Desert from Oracle of Seasons.
Brynna Plain = Labrynna from Oracle of Ages.
Horon Lagoon = Horon Village from Oracle of Seasons.
Talus Plateau (トロイワ高原/Toroiwa Plateau) = Talus Peaks (トロイワ山地/Toroiwa Mountains) from Oracle of Ages.
Lodrum Headland = Holodrum form Oracle of Seasons.
Tarm Point = Tarm Ruins from Oracle of Seasons.
Wintre Island = Woods of Winter from Oracle of Seasons.
Spool Bight = Spool Swamp from Oracle of Seasons.
Tal Tal Peak = Tal Tal Peaks from Link's Awakening.
The area around Lanayru Bay is a hotspot for references to the two Oracle games. The stray reference to Link's Awakening (DX) also fits this theme, with it being the other Zelda game for the Game Boy Color, as well as the other Link's Awakening references in Lanayru in general.
Great Hyrule Forest
Tumblr media
Upland Lindor/Lindor's Brow = Linder from The Wind Waker.
Irch Plain = Irch from The Wind Waker.
Rowan Plain = Rown from The Wind Waker.
Elma Knolls = Elma from The Wind Waker.
Aldor Foothills = Aldo from The Wind Waker.
Mount Drena/Drenan Highlands = Drona from The Wind Waker.
Lake Mekar/Mekar Island = Makar from The Wind Waker.
Lake Saria = Saria from Ocarina of Time and Saria Town from Zelda II.
Mido Swamp = Mido from Ocarina of Time and Mido Town from Zelda II.
Lots of references to Koroks and Kokiri, which makes sense as the Koroks live in this area in Breath of the Wild.
Eldin Region (a.k.a. Death Mountain)
Tumblr media
Lake Darman = Darmani from Majora's Mask.
Darunia Lake = Darunia from Ocarina of Time and Darunia Town from Zelda II.
Gorko Lake/Gorko Tunnel = Gorko from Skyward Sword.
Gortram Cliff = Gortram from Skyward Sword.
Darb Pond = Darbus from Twilight Princess.
Medingo Pool = Medigoron from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
Gero Pond = Don Gero's Mask from Majora's Mask.
Lots of references to Gorons, as the Gorons live here in Breath of the Wild. Don Gero's Mask is probably here because it is initially worn by a Goron in Majora's Mask.
Akkala Region
Tumblr media
Kanalet Ridge = Kanalet Castle from Link's Awakening.
Ulri Mountain/Ulria Grotto = Old Man Ulrira from Link's Awakening.
Torin Wetland = Tarin from Link's Awakening.
Malin Bay = Marin from Link's Awakening.
Ukuku Plains = Ukuku Prairie from Link's Awakening.
Kaepora Pass = Kaepora Gaebora from Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Four Swords Adventures.
Tingel Island = Tingle, who appears in a lot of Zelda games.
Ankel Island = Ankle from The Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures and The Minish Cap.
Knuckel Island = Knuckle from The Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures and The Minish Cap.
Davdi Island = David Jr. from The Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures and The Minish Cap.
Akkala is a cluster for Link's Awakening references, with the reference to Kaepora Gaebora likely also tying into this. That owl's spiritual predecessor, simply called the Owl, namely appeared in Link's Awakening. The islands of off Akkala's coast meanwhile are named after the four Tingle brothers.
