Loki Laufeyson.
The man of your dreams. Or, should you say, the god of your dreams.
Ever since he had reluctantly joined the Avengers last year, you couldn’t get him out of your head. The jet-black hair that fell in cascades, providing a brilliant contrast to the alabaster skin of his face, stretched tautly over sharp cheekbones and a chiseled jaw. You’d idly wondered if you could indeed cut yourself on his cheekbones – and what his jaw might taste like – and you were slightly embarrassed at just how badly you wanted to find out.
Then there were his eyes – were they emerald green? Or perhaps ocean blue? You could never quite decide. Their gorgeous color seemed to ebb and shift just as much as the crystalline tides. Regardless of their color, they always appeared to be sparkling with mischief; glinting with the thoughts of his next scheme. And Loki usually wore some kind of impish smile to complement his twinkling eyes; you swore the way his lips twisted into those cunning smirks could bring you to your knees – not that you’d be complaining about being in that position…not for him, anyway.
Sigh. Your thoughts hadn’t even wandered below his neck yet, and you were already in need of a cold shower. Was he even aware of the hold he had on you?
Sometimes, you suspected that he knew. You were fast friends after he joined the team and moved into the tower, and not long after, you began to consider him your best friend. The two of you spent countless hours together – almost every free moment you both had to spare. Your time spent with him came with inevitable physical contact - innocent brushes of fingertips as you’d both reach for the last snack, warm hugs, and intimate contact while sparring. Sometimes, even, the occasional wrestling-match-turned-tickle-fight. Each touch, no matter the context, lit your skin on fire, burning with your desire for more. The conversations you had with him were often laced with innuendo; he’d make a suggestive remark and his lips would curl into a devilish grin as he watched the blush blossom over your neck and cheeks.
But – you told yourself – it didn’t mean anything; that’s just who he was: a relentless flirt. He’d often brag of his sexual exploits back on Asgard (which would also cause you to blush and choke on your drinks), and it was clear that Loki Laufeyson had quite the queue of women at his bedroom door, hoping for the chance to spend a night of passion with him. Perhaps there was some mild attraction, but there was no way he would ever have genuine interest in someone like you. How could he, when he was so damned perfect? And you were, well… you.
Last Christmas was his first “Midgardian Christmas” as he liked to call it. You had fond memories of showing him the traditional customs – decorating, wrapping gifts, watching Christmas movies, drinking hot chocolate, and you even got him to join in on some Christmas caroling. Your favorite memory from last year, though, was when he showed you his apartment at the Avengers tower. You had been inside before, of course, but he was so excited to show you how he decorated it himself, using what he learned after you had dragged him along with you to help decorate every other nook and cranny of the compound…
“Do you like it, darling? Did I live up to your rigorous standards?”
“Loki…” you gasped, “This is breathtaking!”
He beamed. “Well, I did have a masterful teacher.”
There was that damned smirk again.
“You’ve given it your own… flavor, too, I see.”
“There was no other option, Y/N. Midgardian Christmas decor consists of entirely too much red for my taste,” he remarked with a cringe. “It really is quite tacky. I’ve taken a more… elegant approach.”
“But what about holly berries? Candy canes? Poinsettias? Red ribbon, even?”
“What was that song you taught me last week? White Christmas? Well in here, darling, we have a Green Christmas, take it or leave it.”
Pulling yourself back to the present moment, you chuckled at the memory. Of course he couldn’t stand to see so much of his brother’s colors in his own quarters. Loki’s room was immaculately adorned with festive decorations, and not a speck of red could be found. The green fir tree in the corner was spectacularly embellished with glittering bulbs of the brightest emerald, silver, and gold. White lights and silver tinsel added to the sparkle, and nestled at the precipice was a beautifully ornate silver spinning wheel, a symbol of his mother, Frigga. The windows in his room were frosted, even though it hadn’t snowed that day, and when you approached them to investigate, you noticed they were not cold to the touch. Loki had frosted them himself, using his power as a Jotun, and then used his seidr to seal them so the frost would not melt, nor would the unwelcome chill seep into the cozy room. Hanging in each of the frosted windows was a green wreath, each one complete with a golden bow and a flickering candle. His usual black furniture and rich, emerald green soft furnishings throughout the room brought the entire look together. It was warm and inviting, but also strong and dark – just like him.
Here you were, daydreaming of that Green Christmas last year, and the nights you would have liked to spend in his room… in his bed.
It just wouldn’t do any more. Being best friends wasn’t enough; you needed more. Christmas was all about letting people know how much you love them, right? You resolved that you would tell Loki your true feelings for him on Christmas Eve.
---------------------------------------------
Christmas Eve arrived in the blink of an eye, and you’d never been more nervous in your life. You had rehearsed over and over again the words that you would say to him, but you feared it wouldn’t be enough. Or maybe it would be too much? Would it scare him away? Would you lose his friendship, that was so dear to you?
Stop it. You could do this.
You picked up the emerald green box adorned with a golden bow, which contained your gift for him. You had gotten him a simple and elegant tie clip, made of platinum, with a single emerald inlaid on the end. It had made you think of him right away when you saw it in the jewelry store, your mind immediately wandering to the thought of him in his all-black suit and tie combo, with that tie clip displayed proudly against his chest.
With the gift box in hand, you began your pilgrimage to his private quarters, where you had plans to do your gift exchange. As you approached the door, the flutters in your stomach increased their tempo from allegro to prestissimo; the blood pounding in your ears rose to a deafening crescendo. You audibly exhaled, trying desperately to catch your breath, and your hand trembled as it made its descent to give a shaky knock on the door. Your body was a perfect symphony of nervousness.
Loki promptly answered with his signature bright smile and twinkling eyes.
“Come in, come in, darling!” He beamed as he wrapped you in a warm embrace and placed an innocent kiss to your cheek that set your insides ablaze, “I’ve just finished up a fresh batch of hot chocolate for us to share.”
“Thank you, Loki, that sounds wonderful.” You placed his gift under the tree, next to a slightly larger one that you presumed was for you.
“Is everything alright, Y/N?”
Dammit. You had tried your best to cover your nerves, but he knew. He always knew with you.
“Yes, Loki, I promise everything is fine,” you assured him with the best smile you could muster, “but I do actually have something to talk to you about, if you wouldn’t mind sitting down.”
“Of course, darling, what is it?”
He made his way over to the sofa next to you, his brows knitting together and his oceanic orbs swirling with concern.
Here goes nothing…
“Loki, you mean so much to me; you’ve been my best friend at the compound practically since the moment you arrived. You’re my favorite person to spend time with, no matter what it is we are doing together. In fact, even when I’m not with you, I find my thoughts drifting to you, frequently during the most inopportune times. You’re often the last thing I’m thinking about when I drift off to sleep at night, and the first thing I’m thinking about when I wake up in the morning. I can’t keep pretending any more, Loki. I’ve fallen in love with you; irrevocably, maddeningly in love.”
You were avoiding eye contact, your fingers twiddling nervously with the hem of your skirt. The silence was deafening. Was he going to say something?
Just as you gathered the nerve to look up at him, you noticed that he had risen from the sofa and was walking towards the tree, with his back to you. Now you’d gone and done it; he was completely uncomfortable, avoiding you, even. You stood up from your seat on the couch, and began walking towards the door, rambling along the way.
“I - I’m so sorry, Loki. I’m sure that was uncomfortable, and maybe crossed a line and I just hope we can still be friends, but I understand that you need some space and I’ll — “
You gasped as a strong hand wrapped tightly around your wrist, preventing you from leaving and interrupting your nervous rambling.
“Y/N, just wait a minute. You didn’t open your gift yet.” His eyes gazed at you softly as he handed you the green box you had spotted earlier under the tree.
Your small hands shook as you pulled at the ribbon and lifted the lid, revealing the most beautiful gold necklace, with a single charm hanging from the chain – a dazzling emerald, surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds.
“Loki…” you whispered, “It’s so… it’s stunning, but it is too much!”
“Read the note, darling.”
You retrieved the small piece of paper that was placed strategically underneath the beautiful necklace, and unfolded it. You were greeted with Loki’s familiar handwriting.
Merry Christmas, Y/N. I’m so incredibly grateful that you’re in my life, and it is my highest hope that you will allow me to court you, and I offer you this necklace in my colors, as a symbol of our courtship, should you accept it. I love you, darling. xx Loki
Your eyes widened as you stared from the note back up to him.
“I’ll take that as a yes, then?” he asked coyly, with an arrogant smirk.
You nodded furiously; it was as if you momentarily had forgotten how to speak.
With a flick of his wrist and a twirl of his elegant finger, you were wrapped in a tendril of green light and pulled across the floor, and right into his arms, closing the gap that was between you. Before you could express your surprise at his gesture, his hands found their way to either side of your head, his thumbs brushing gently against your rosy cheeks, and he tilted your head so that his lips could meet yours. The kiss was soft at first, your lips exploring each other gently for the first time. Soon, though, the desire you both were harboring became evident, and the kiss grew heated, his tongue prodding your lips, begging for entry, which you easily granted. When he finally released you, you were both panting heavily, trying to catch your breath.
“I hope that was okay?” he questioned, slight concern gracing his breathtaking features.
“Trust me, it was more than okay,” you quipped, tugging on the collar of his sweater, “Now where were we?”
Your lips joined in another passionate kiss, and your heart leapt with unbridled joy. He wanted you to wear his colors. He was yours.
Your wish for a Green Christmas came true.

The Ropes
Dads best friend Loki! x female reader
18+ | despite the name there aren’t actually any ropes 😭 contains smut - age gap but reader is a grown woman capable of making her own decisions
Tumblr media
It had been just over an hour of greasing palms and avoiding Loki. It was your dads annual gala and he was finally introducing you as a partner. You focused on smiling brightly at his guests, most of which were other wealthy businessmen who could easily be manipulated by the faux promise of them potentially being able to see up your skirt one day, something you’d bare in mind once you eventually took the company over; your dad always did want an early retirement. The only man not perverse enough to hand over a fortune for a date with you was none other than Tony Stark which was unexpected considering his track record. The walls talk. He often told you you reminded him of a younger version of himself. Minus the beard you’d often laugh to which he’d reply something about both of you growing up rich, not wealthy. You never truly did understand what he meant by that. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that you were actively trying to avoid a man double your age after he walked in with a stunning blonde on his arm. Surely you couldn’t blame daddy issues when daddy hired maids to look after you in the comfort of the manor you were raised in; you’d blame your own immaturity. Rich not wealthy, the words reverberated through your head.
“I’d like to make a toast” your dad announced, tapping a glass as he gathered everyone’s attention including Loki who’s eyes met yours before turning to your dad. “I want to welcome my newest employee, my partner, my darling y/n” he beamed, gesturing for you to join him. With a smile of your own, you made your way towards him, kissing him on the cheek.
“Thanks daddy” you grinned, spinning to face the photographer.
“Loki, join us” your dad called out to the man too enthralled by his whore date to even notice there were pictures being taken. Your eyes followed him as he walked towards you, standing on the other side of you as the three of you posed for the picture.
“Smileee”
Snap
A few pictures later, Lokis hand left where it held the small of your back before he turned towards your dad who was speaking to him. You could barely hear them, too focused on the loud beating of your heart at Lokis previous closeness, the smell of his cologne, the betrayal you felt at him bringing another woman. Of course you could never be together publicly, how you wanted to be, he could never be yours but it hurt nonetheless seeing him like that with someone else.
“Loki I was wondering if you’d be able to show y/n the ropes” your dad requested, the sound of your name catching your attention.
“The ropes” Loki began, a small smile gracing his features as you looked at him “that’d be my pleasure” he assured causing you to roll your eyes at his tone.
“Excellent” your dad clapped “there are actually a few folders on my desk, have her file them please, wouldn’t want someone stumbling upon them. Sticky fingers these business men, sticky fingers.”
“I don’t doubt it” Loki answered, wriggling his own fingers “come on y/n, off we go.”
“And one last thing Loki” your dad interrupted, Loki turning to face him “that’s one fine lady you’ve got, she the reason you’re so smiley?”
“A gentleman doesn’t kiss and tell” Loki replied, turning away and continuing his walk “come on” he gestured to you. Sighing, you followed him.
Both of you walked in silence. Half of you couldn’t wait to finally be alone with Loki, you had missed him, it had been almost two weeks since you had seen him but the other half of you was furious, upset. How long had he been seeing blondie? Had he really been happier? Was he simply using you until he found someone better, more mature, prettier? Your mind swirled with questions, your heart rate increasing again the closer you drew to your dads office. What if this was Lokis way of letting you down gently, get you alone to break your heart on the one night you couldn’t make a scene. Once you both reached the office, Loki held the door open for you before making his way towards your dads desk and sitting at the chair. You looked at the files scattered along it as opposed to at Loki who was clearly looking at you. For the first time ever, he intimidated you, you felt nervous. His jaw was clenched, that much was clear and he seemed stern.
“You’ve been avoiding me” he finally spoke, a harshness to his tone.
“And you’ve brought a date” you answered with a newfound confidence as you rolled your shoulders back and straightened your posture, glaring at him.
“Well I couldn’t tell your father that the reason for my newfound happiness was his darling daughter now could I” he replied causing you to scoff as you looked away from him “besides, she’s far more interested in you than she is me.”
“Oh” you murmured, eyes widening in realisation. You stepped towards Loki, sitting at the edge of the desk in front of him.
“Anyways” he began “considering I’m supposed to be showing you the ropes—”
“You’re not my dads lackey” you interrupted.
“The first thing to note when it comes to filing is” he continued, one of his hands trailing up your thigh.
“So you’re not seeing anyone?” You questioned.
“Well, unless you count yourself” he winked, looking up at you, his hand still moving underneath your dress.
“Good” you smiled, leaning down to kiss him, widening your legs so he could position himself between them. Standing up, Loki deepened the kiss, his tongue pushing past yours as he pulled you closer towards him from the edge of the desk, you reaching up, pushing his blazer off of his shoulders. Breaking the kiss, you used his tie to pull him closer so you could whisper in his ear. “What if we get caught?” You asked licking the shell of his ear.
“We won’t” he answered “besides, this all excites you doesn’t it?”
“Who doesn’t love a thrill” you grinned, kissing him again, deeply. Breaking the kiss, Lokis lips trailed over your neck as he lowered himself onto the floor on his knees. Hooking his thumbs under the waistband of your panties, he pulled them down slowly, noticing your breath hitch when he brought them to his nose, inhaling. Your eyes fell closed as he began peppering kisses up your thighs, resting one of your legs on his shoulder as he pushed them apart, tongue darting out to lick your clit. “Loki” you moaned quietly, his lips wrapping around the bundle of nerves before he sucked causing you to take a harsh inhale. His tongue travelled lower, licking at your entrance before he reached your clit again, your knuckles white as you tightly gripped the edge of the desk. The urge to moan his name loudly threatening to evade you. “Loki, I’m so closee” you mewled, your climax fast approaching as he flicked your clit with his tongue before rolling it across it.
“Cum for me princess” he urged before sucking your clit again causing you to orgasm, thighs quivering as he rode you through your high until you pushed his head away, the overstimulation rippling through you. Retreating from your centre, he kissed your thighs again, leaving love bites before you could stop him.
“Don’t leave them too low” you interrupted, Loki looking up at you with an amused expression at your tone, clearly you weren’t on cloud nine anymore. “Last time I had to wear trousers” you added.
“Wear longer dresses then” he shrugged, standing to his feet, his erection near level to your face before you began to unbutton his dress pants, running your hand over his length.
“Want me to return the favour baby?” You smiled, licking your lips.
“No, I want you to bend over this desk” he replied.
Wasting no time, you turned over, bending over the desk as Loki pushed your dress up a little more. Untying his tie, he tied it around your mouth, needing you to not make a sound as he fucked you. There was a whole party happening only a mere dozen metres away, he couldn’t risk you both being caught. Gripping his cock, he guided the tip through your wet folds, spreading your arousal down his shaft before lining himself up with your waiting entrance. Thrusting inside, he had to bite his lip to stifle his own groan at the feeling of your walls gripping him. Moving his hips backwards, he pulled out of you before thrusting inside of you again, your walls gripping him more wantonly.
“Ah y/n” he uttered, concealing his pleasure as best he could as he fucked you. Tears spilled from the corner of your eyes as you shut them tightly, another orgasm quickly approaching you. It felt like forever since you had last felt Loki breach you, every time felt brand new, he fucked you so good, it was addictive. His fingertips dug into your hip, his attempt at keeping quiet as he changed his pace, his own peak approaching. “Fuckk” he breathed out before stilling, spilling into you as he came, your own orgasm hitting you leaving your knees buckling, legs shaking as they threatened to collapse underneath you. “Perfect, just perfect” Loki exhaled, pumping into you a couple more times as you both sailed through your highs before he pulled out. “Consider the ropes shown” Loki chuckled, removing your makeshift gag.
“Next time we have to go somewhere we don’t have to be so quiet.” You spoke, pulling your dress down.
“Agreed. Now, let’s get you cleaned up” he announced, pulling you towards the bathroom opposite, the files still askew on the desk.

Every Little Thing (Is Magic)
Summary: Loki x Fe!Reader -> You and Loki are friends, but what happens when some pain-in-the-ass magician decides to stick his powers in where they're not wanted?
Disclaimer: This is part one. Not proof-read. Watched Supergirl and felt like writing. Like, comment and reblog for part two. Fluff, humor?, Loki being more excited than a puppy for a hot minute.
Tumblr media
If someone had told you years ago that one day you would be hanging out with The Avengers only to find yourself in a compromised situation that included yourself, The God of Mischief and a multi-universal-pain-in-the-ass magician - you wouldn’t have believed them.
Hell, you couldn’t believe it was happening, even when it was right in front of your eyes.
When you had joined the team via the recommendation of Clint Barton, you hadn’t expected to find a close friendship in The God of Mischief himself but, surprisingly, you had.
And somehow, between first meeting and the present time, you and Loki had found yourselves having a movie night each Friday.
He enjoyed, despite denying it for a while, the world you lived on. Maybe it wasn’t as grand or glistening as Asgard, but it had its moments. The way the rain fell on an empty afternoon. The way the sun would rise just over the horizon each morning and had every place on the earth look so magical, even the darkest corners looked like a paradise.
But, half-way through the second viewing of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, someone interrupted your peace time.
Loki had been sitting on the sofa and immediately jumped when he heard a second voice and you let out a short scream before dropping the glass bottle of milk on the floor.
“Oh, I am sorry. Here, let me.”
The guy, dressed in a dark suit and fedora, waved his hand and the milk was cleaned up and disappeared in an instant. A second movement and a brand new bottle appeared on the side of the counter, fresh and cold.
“Who are you?”
“That isn’t of importance.” He waved off.
“I believe the lady asked you a question.”
The nameless man turned around on his heels with a smile. “Ah, Loki. I’ve met many of you. Nice to see you again. Please, there is no need for weapons here.”
With a move of his hand, Loki’s weapons had disappeared leaving both you and him shocked.
“Now, I was hoping we could both speak.”
Your head was trying to register everything but it was having a difficult time not trying to kill the man in front of you.
“Who are you?” you asked again.
“Not of importance.”
“I believe it is.” you replied.
The man smiled. “Well, if you must call me something, call me…Vel. Short for Velho.”
You leaned a little to view Loki past Velho, to which he seemed a little offended.
“Do you recognise the name?”
Loki thought for a moment before looking at Velho. “It’s Finnish for Wizard.”
“You’re a wizard?”
Again, he looked offended.
“Darling, couldn’t you already see that?” He shrugged. “Never mind. Besides, we’re wasting time. Why don’t we get on with it?”
“Get on with what? Look, Velho, I don’t know where or…what you are but, please, if you need help, we can-”
Velho laughed. “Oh, darling, I don’t need help. But my help is needed.”
“What on earth for-?”
Suddenly the room around you disappeared and rather than being your apartment, it spun and changed until you were in a large ballroom with long and grand-designed tables and crystal chandeliers.
“That’s better, don’t you think?”
“Whoa, wait a moment-”
Suddenly, with a snap of his fingers, Velho made Loki disappear.
“Whoa! What - Where did you send him?”
Velho was circling you with a finger pressed to his lips and his mind running wild. “Don’t worry, dear. He’s just getting ready.”
You stood tall. “Where?”
“Nowhere important.” Velho sized you up with his fingers as if he was measuring a painting from far away. “Ah, yes. That’s it.”
You yelped as you felt your feet shift from under you and your entire outfit that had consisted of comfortable pyjama bottoms and a long sleeve t-shirt changed into a corset tight wedding dress which put Enchanted to shame.
“What the hell?”
“Yes, I agree. Much too poofy. How about-”
Velho waved his hand again and you spun until you found yourself in an entirely new dress. Less poofy but much more lace.
“What the hell are you doing?”
“Getting you ready.” Velho replied as if you knew what he was talking about.
“Getting ready for what?”
“Much too lace. You look like a botched job at a Victorian Era wedding. Ah, I think I’ve got it.”
You didn’t pay attention to the next dress but the moment you stopped spinning you put your hands out and Velho stopped talking.
“Hold on! What are you getting me ready for? And don’t you dare say it’s not important. And where is Loki? Bring him back, now.”
Vehlo smiled. “He’ll be here in a few minutes. But why don’t you take a look.”
A mirror appeared behind him and as he stepped out of the way, you saw the dress he had put you in.
The open sleeves draped down to the floor with elegant gold details. The dress had a transparent, hand-crafted opening whilst velvet fabric bookended it. The shoulders contained the same golden detail and the train seemed to continue on forever behind you, and the veil that was attached to the flower crown that adorned your head was longer still.
Your hair had changed too.
From the messy and dirty bun you had thrown it into, you found it clean, curled and framing your face in a way you always wished to have got it, but in reality had never been successful.
Wisps of glitter seemed to float around you, blessing you with a romantic essence you never believed you could hold.
You looked like you had just stepped out of a fairytale story.
“And to hide it from your groom.”
A soft wave of his hand and you found a simple cloak wrap over your shoulders only to find the inside like silk against your skin with gentle details of ivy, lavender and roses all on a golden background.
Carefully, Velho moved the hood to sit on the crown of your hair where it draped down and hid your beauty whilst somehow showing it off secretly to the world.
Now you were definitely in a fairytale.
“Wait. Groom?”
“Ah,” Velho stepped back. “I almost forgot.”
With a snap of his fingers, Loki suddenly burst in through the double doors down the hall causing you to turn.
He must have been running down multiple corridors, trying to find the right one to find you because once he laid his eyes on you, there was a complete look of exhaustion and relief.
“Thank the gods, you’re okay.”
“I’m okay.”
Only now did you realise what he was wearing.
A suit.
A wedding suit.
Now you snapped your attention back to Velho. “What are you doing?”
“Just what should be happening sooner than later.”
“What?”
You found the room spinning again and you found yourself back in your apartment, in your pyjamas except for your hair which was not messy or dirty but clean and in soft waves and half pulled back.
“But I can see you’re both not just quite ready for that yet. But maybe I can hurry things along a little bit.”
The look in Loki’s eyes suddenly changed and you were taken aback as he opened up his arms, called your name and came towards you.
“My love, I have been waiting centuries for you and I have finally found you. I love you.”
Loki continued in a romantic speech, hugging you multiple times in between. Meanwhile, you stood awkwardly, not quite knowing how to accept the sudden over the top affection.
“What did you do to him?”
“Oh, nothing.”
You pulled yourself from Loki’s arms and rushed away from him only to find him back at your side again.
He kept calling you “My love,” and complimenting you to the high heavens.
“Turn it off.”
Velho smiled and clicked his fingers and within seconds Loki was on the floor, holding his head.
“What the hell just happened?”
You bent down and looked at him. “Follow my finger.”
“I feel like I’ve just hit my head a thousand times over on a rock.” Loki told you. “Is this what a hangover feels like?”
You shrugged. “Sometimes. Depends on the drink. Are you still in love with me?”
Loki looked at you a little confused. “No more than usual.”
“Let me help you.”
Loki stood with your help, still holding his head. “What happened?”
“He did.”
“Guilty.” Velho smiled. “Now, I best be off. And, just a small warning darling, his powers don’t work on me. Nobody’s do. So, you’re just gonna have to figure this one out without magic. See you soon, my darling.”
“No, no, no, no, no-”
A snap of his fingers, a click of his heels and a hand behind his back, Velho smiled and Loki went from panic to having so much adoration and love for you, it surpassed that of a puppy when its owner comes home. Meanwhile, your panic turned into annoyance as Loki held you in his arms so tightly, it no longer felt like him.
There had to be a way to fix it.

The raven perched on a shoulder clad in the darkest of green silks. The iridescence of its manicured feathers glimmered in waves of blue-purple-green in the drifting light of the hanging torches. Their gown made no rippling sound as they slinked through the palace, silent-like, with the raven for companion.
"Are you sure it's this way?" They whispered, and the wind drifting through the open corridor killed the sound before it could reach any unintended ears. Sharp nipping and the scrape of a beak against metal rings carried an assault on their ear, and they turned that way in to the dimly lit passage. "Stop it," they hissed, batting at the raven so that it flew up off of its shoulder perch and into the night sky. "You know this place gets confusing sometimes."
The raven squawked and the human cursed its feeble existence, but they both carried on deeper into the grounds, until human feet touched mossy stone and the raven found a branching perch. "So, it was the way." They spoke under their breath, giving the garden a quick look over for guards. There were none.
"I told you," said the raven, its eyes a marbled emerald green, "I know my palace." The human scoffed, pulling a worn leather pouch from the abyss of their silken robes and an identical set for their companion. "You don't know shit. You're just lucky that you can fly."
Loki, now in the shape of the godchild that he perhaps truly was, and unfazed by his arrant nudity, swung himself down from his branch with impeccable grace. His pale and lanky frame shinning as beautifully in the moon light as his feathers had minutes before. He accepted the green silks from the outstretched palm of his beloved partner in crime as he had time and time before.
"You're lucky that I don't loathe your company." He retorted, the threat every bit as empty as his smirk was twisted up in smugness. He was charming, this trickster. The rightful heir of Asgard. He was a cunning little bastard too. "So, who shall be our victim tonight?" They asked him, eyes gleaming with violent excitement. "Why my oaf of a brother, of course. I thought that was clear."
The pair sat down on the soft bedding of grass beneath the tree, a sacred monument, and spread out the contents of their fraying bag of schemes. "How shall we do it?" Y/n asked, flipping through the pages of the spell book they had stollen, together with Loki, from Frigga's library. "Like this," Loki told them, thin, black painted fingertip stopping the progression of their flipping pages. The page had been marked already, and Loki wore a beaming smile of malevolent intent. "We'll use this."
Y/n fixed him with a look and Loki, persuasive as ever, started to defend his case. "It won't be permanent. It might just interfere slightly with his courtship to the lady Sif." Loki watched the sly grin creep up his best friend's face and replace the uncertainty in their eyes with mischief. "How will we get in?" They asked, leaning over the open book to look at him with worshipful glee.
They always made him feel like the god he knew he was, like the king he was destined to be. They trusted him. They loved him. Loki smiled, beautiful and deadly, and leaned in towards his friend as well. The wind rattled the sacred branches overhead and Loki's eyes sparkled green in the reflected glance of his favored companion. "We'll use magic. How do you feel about being a bird?"

Liquid Courage (Loki x Female Reader One Shot)
This one shot was inspired by a post from @mochie85 and a song she loves. After listening to "Half Crazy" by Juslisen, I knew I had to write this story!!!
4.6k words
TRIGGER WARNINGS: mentions of a drunken hookup, excessive drinking, jealousy, and unrequited love
Contains angst, slight fluff, and mentions of sex.
Tumblr media
“Whoa, slow down killer.”
With a dramatic roll of your eyes, you downed the third shot of the night without a second thought. All you wanted to do was forget for just one night. As if she knew exactly what was going through your mind, Natasha put herself between you and the broody god at the opposite end of the bar.
“Does this have anything to do with a certain cranky Asgardian prince? We’ve all noticed that the besties haven’t been on the best of terms lately. What are you two fighting about now?”
After chasing the shot with a large swig of your mixed drink, you winced slightly as the burn made its way through your chest. It still didn’t do much to sooth the ache that you felt inside. With a sigh, you finally voiced the one thing that hadn’t left your thoughts in weeks.
“I wish it was just a simple fight. This is so much worse.”
Watching her brows furrow with concern, you took a deep breath and forced the words out.
“He and I… we uh… we hooked up, Nat…”
The words were enough to make the trained spy sputter on her drink. Not much shocked her anymore, but that revelation was certainly enough to catch her off guard.
“The music in here is a little loud tonight. I’m going to need you to repeat that again.”
Pouring yourself another shot from the bottle you swiped from behind the bar, you refused to meet her eyes, knowing the sight of him was right over her shoulder. The way he was burning a hole right through you with his intense stare made you wonder if he had heard your confession.
“We both know you heard me, Romanoff. I won’t say it again.”
“Alright… wow… so you slept with your best friend who you have been madly in love with for ages. I take it things didn’t go well? Was the sex horrible or what?”
You didn’t say a word causing her to study you and approach it at another angle.
“Spill it babe. I need some details here.”
“I don’t know.”
“What do you mean you don’t know? How can you not know if the sex was good or not?”
Finally meeting her eyes, you bit your lip and darted your eyes over her shoulder to the man in question who was staring at the glass in front of him.
“I don’t know because I don’t remember, alright! It’s just flashes in my mind. We were hanging out in the common room passing a bottle of tequila back and forth and at some point the conversation shifted to not so family friendly topics. I told him about my dry spell, explained what exactly a dry spell was, and then I briefly recall him saying something to the extent of offering to end said dry spell. After that it’s kind of fuzzy. Heavy petting and making out in the floor in front of the couch turned into something more and then I don’t remember anything else until the next morning.”
Natasha took the bottle from you and poured her own shot.
“Based on the way things have been since then, it wasn’t a pleasant morning after?”
The memory of the next day caused your vision to blur and you quickly looked down to compose yourself.
“Something like that… As if it wasn’t awkward enough, he called it a mistake. I’ve wondered for years what it would be like to wake up beside him and Lohk immediately regrets it…”
Feeling his gaze on you once again, you turned to face the mirror behind the bar and wiped away the few tears that had fallen. You locked eyes with her in the reflection as she rubbed you back to comfort you with tears of her own.
“I’m so sorry, sweetie.”
Throwing on a fake smile, you tried to lighten the mood.
“I mean, I shouldn’t have been surprised. I see the parade of woman that come and go from his room all the time and the walks of shame to the elevator the morning after. I just never thought I would be one of them, you know? That’s what I get for crossing that line. He and I have barely spoken two words to each other since then. Part of me wishes I could go back and stop it from happening. At least then I would still have my best friend… It’s kind of poetic in a way though. My one chance of knowing what it’s like to be the one he desires, and I was too drunk to remember any of it. It’s like all of the heartache without any of the fun first.”
Downing one more shot first, Natasha grabbed your hand and began to drag you towards the dance floor.
“You and I are going to move to the music until you forget all about him, babe. If you end up finding someone new, even better!”
Loki knew coming to Stark’s party tonight was a bad choice. It was the longest he had been in the same room with you since that fateful morning. The look on your face haunted him. It didn’t matter what he was doing, day or night. The sight of your heart breaking right in front of him had changed something inside of him. The sexy and confident woman he had always admired was gone in an instant and he was now staring at someone who could only be described as insecure and dangerously vulnerable. The darkness inside of him had taken that from him too. More than anything though… he missed his best friend. In the days since, he had wished with all of his might that he could take it back. He had seen lovers make a quick escape, but the way you rushed from his bed was some sort of record. He hadn’t even had a chance to wrap the sheet around his waist and follow after you before you were throwing on your clothes and making a mad dash for the door. In his heart, he knew the sound of a sob broke free just before you slammed the door closed behind you.
The feel of someone approaching him on his right caused him to snap out of his thoughts. He looked up to find a mischievous smirk on her face before she swiped his glass from him and downed the amber liquid in a single swallow.
“Romanoff. You owe me a drink.”
“Please. You’ve been nursing the same one for a long while now. We both know I did you a favor and I’m about to do you another one.”
Taking a seat beside him, she leaned against the bar and narrowed her eyes as she studied him. Mirroring her position, he returned the expression in a challenge.
“Is that so? Do tell.”
Loki wasn’t in the mood to deal with her games tonight. In this moment, he made the decision to hear her out and then make his leave. There wasn’t a single Midgardian liquor that could numb his pain right now and the flask of Asgardian mead stashed away in his chambers was calling to him.
“I am… It’s come to my attention that you and a certain someone recently indulged in a little bedsheet tango together.”
While he didn’t quite understand her reference, it was enough to hint at the true topic and he didn’t want any part of it.
“I do believe that isn’t any of your business, Agent.”
She grabbed the bottle from behind the bar and refilled his glass.
“Oh, it’s not. I just wanted to let you know that she appears to be moving on just fine, so I suggest that you do the same.”
With the glass delicately grasped between her fingers, she used it to point over his shoulder towards something behind him. Rolling his eyes in disinterest first, he humored her and turned in his seat to acknowledge whatever she was smirking at just out of his line of sight. The scene before him caused his fists to clench as a surge of rage flooded his system.
Over the music, he could just make out the sound of your laughter now that he was focused on it. On the edge of the dance floor before him, a faceless piece of trash had you wrapped up in his arms as the two of you were very suggestively grinding against each other to the beat of the song. When the stranger’s hands slid down to settle on your hips in the skin tight dress you had worn tonight, that was several inches shorter than he was comfortable with, he braced himself against the edge of the bar as his hands started to shake. Loki’s breaking point came when your arms came up to weave through the man’s hair at the base of his neck while he leaned down and left a trail of kisses along your neck, causing your laugh to turn into a seductive giggle. The memory of you doing the same thing to him during your night together fueled the fire inside of him.
With one smooth motion, the angry god was on his feet and swiping the glass back from the red head beside him. Her smirk turned into a full blown grin as he threw back the drink and slammed the now empty glass down on the surface with enough force to break it.
“If you’ll excuse me…”
Natasha waited until he was just out of ear shot before she let her laughter slip out.
“You and your jealous streak, Laufeyson… So very predictable!”
Just when you were about to turn to face your sexy stranger, his body quickly pulled away from yours. The suddenness of it caused you to fall backwards until it landed against a firm surface, preventing you from being laid out on your butt.
“Time to go, Pet…”
That sultry voice would always do sinful things to you. It took you a second to register that it was located just beside your ear, and you swung around to find yourself face to face with Loki himself. Your eyes darted to the shocked and slightly scared guy on the ground beside him and it was now your anger that was fueled.
“What are you doing?!”
Gripping your arm with enough force to hold your attention but not harm you, he leaned in just inches from your face and spoke through a clenched jaw.
“I said. Time. To. Go.”
There was no chance for you to argue back before you were being directed off the dance floor and through the open balcony doors on the side of the crowded room. Letting you go once the two of you were outside, Loki turned to close the doors behind him to give the two of you a sliver of privacy and drown out the deafening noise coming through the speakers.
“Who the hell do you think you are, Loki!?”
He turned around just in time to get pushed up against the doors, being caught by surprise as your hands shoved him with as much strength as you could gather. It was still barely enough to knock him off balance and you both knew that.
“You had no right doing that! You forfeited that right the morning you kicked me out of your bed and treated me like just another of your one-night stands!”
“I didn’t kick you out of my bed, darling, and we both know you are most certainly not like the others that have had the pleasure of spending a night with me!”
He watched as you threw your hands up in the air and let out a deep growl before beginning to frantically pace the small space of the balcony floating above the New York City skyline.
“Damn it, Loki! You just think so highly of yourself don’t you!? Of course I was just another notch on your bed post! Stop pretending like it meant anything to you at all!”
Choosing to ignore the comment he knew was just to hurt him, he lowered his voice and slowly approached you.
“I want the truth, Y/N. What you said that night… Did you mean it?”
The question caught you off guard and interrupted your slightly drunken tantrum.
“Did I mean what, Loki?”
“You know exactly what I’m talking about. Stop pretending you don’t remember. Ignorance is not an attractive quality.”
Loki patiently waited for your answer, crossing his arms when he was met with silence. Seeing no way out from it any longer, you let out a frustrated sigh and pinched the bridge of your nose to reign in your fury. The sound of your voice was smaller than you liked.
“I’m not pretending, Loki, and I’m not trying to be ignorant… I truly don’t remember.”
When you glanced up at him, his features had shifted to one of confusion, obviously not understanding.
“Apparently I was drunker than I thought and my memories of that night have a lot of missing pieces, okay?”
He stared into your eyes from his post against the side of the building as he searched for any sign of deception from you. When he realized you truly didn’t know what he was asking, you swore you saw a flash of hurt before he turned his gaze to the ground in front of him.
“I see… May I ask what you do remember about our evening together?”
Knowing this wasn’t going to be an easy or short conversation, you sat down on the bench behind you and wrapped your arms around your middle and noticed for the first time just how chilly the night air was. Without a second thought, Loki pushed off the wall and slid his suit jacket off his shoulders as he approached you. The feel of him wrapping the warm fabric around you caused you to look up and meet his eyes once more before he sat down beside you. As a breeze carried the scent of him from the garment and enveloped you in the familiarity of it, you were reminded of the comfort he had provided you until the recent change between the two of you. It was enough to give you the courage to make your confession.
“Gods, Lohk. This is so embarrassing…”
His arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you into his side, as he leaned down and placed a kiss on the top of your head.
“It’s just me, sweetheart…”
Loki heard you sigh before leaning in closer to him and allowing him to hold you.
“I remember how the night started and the abundance of alcohol being poured until we switched to drinking straight from the bottle. I remember when the topic changed and my brazen comment about how long it had been since I had seen any action. I also remember your offer of a solution to my problem. One of the last things I remember clearly was when you kissed me… After that, it’s just flashes of me ending up in your lap as things got more heated and I’m vaguely aware of clothes being shed. I don’t recall when we moved from the couch to your bed and I certainly don’t remember anything I would have said that you want me to clarify… The next thing I knew, I was waking up in your room instead of mine. You refused to look me in the eye after I woke up naked in your arms. Then when you called me a mistake, I just panicked. I’ve never been more mortified in my entire life than that very moment… If I could take it all back, Loki, I would. That night ruined everything between us and I’m sorry it happened.”
The distant sound of the traffic below and the rumble of the bass from the party still going inside was the only thing that filled the silence, until his whisper came what felt like an eternity later.
“I’m not…”
Your mind raced as you tried to understand his meaning. The feel of his hand in yours came just before he continued his thought.
“I’m not sorry it happened. Not even a little bit.”
When you still didn’t look up at him, his other hand came up to your cheek to turn your face towards him. Loki’s eyes searched yours for a brief moment before they closed. Out of nowhere, you were flooded with images and scenes from that night. All of the memories and moments that had been stolen from you due to your overindulgence were now clear and whole again.
You watched from both his perspective and yours as the two of you moved from the couch to the floor. Without breaking the kiss, the barriers were removed between you until your bodies were surrounded by a circle of clothing. After what must have been the first round, Loki transported the two of you to his room in a flash of green where he took you for a second time against the wall beside him. It wasn’t until you reached yet another high that he tightened his grip and carried you over to his bed. For the final time of the night, he explored and roamed across your form until you were a panting mess beneath him. Just before the two of you found your release together, you heard a series of words slip out in between your moans.
“I love you, Loki. Don’t stop. Please don’t stop.”
With a gasp, you pulled out of his thoughts and found yourself back on the balcony. The smile on his face was forced and the pain in his eyes had returned. When Loki’s hand slipped from your cheek to rest in your lap, you broke the intense stare and turned away from him to gather your thoughts. As if he knew exactly what you were thinking, he spoke up.
“It wasn’t until you were falling asleep in my arms that I processed what you had let slip in the heat of the moment… I ask you again, Y/N… Did you mean what you said?”
The tear sliding down your cheek felt like ice as it burned its way across your skin. In an attempt to keep your dignity and composure, you quickly wiped it away and dismissed his question entirely.
“It doesn’t matter. My answer won’t change things, Lohk. You already said so yourself when you woke up beside me the next morning. I was a mistake.”
As soon as you felt his hands return to your cheeks and turn you towards him, your eyes closed to prevent yourself from seeing the expression on his face. The last thing you wanted to see was the awkward distance you saw that morning or even worse… pity.
“Darling, please look at me. Don’t hide. Not from me.”
Taking an unsteady breath first, you slowly opened your eyes to find a soft, yet serious expression in front of you. His gaze flicked down to your lips between returning to your stare again.
“First off, you were never a mistake. My words were ‘My actions last night were a mistake.’ While I admit that my choice of words were not ideal, had I been able to finish my thought, I would have discussed the declaration you had made and how had I known of your feelings on the matter, a drunken escapade in the living room floor was not the experience I would have allowed you to have. In the spirit of complete honesty, I had gone into my decision to bed you fully expecting a pleasurable night between two friends in order to fulfill your needs. I had no suspicions that you harbored such deep feelings towards me, or I would not have allowed that night to take place.
That being said, while I didn’t feel the same way, or at least wasn’t aware of it at the time, things changed for me that night. While you slept peacefully on my chest, I found it impossible to fall asleep and continued to replay your words over in my mind as I saw all of our interactions in an entirely different light. I can’t begin to tell you how guilty I felt about the night we had spent together. Not because it happened, but because of what I thought it must have meant to you. I had treated you like the others that had passed through my bed that I never gave a second thought.
I am ashamed to say that when you became upset and retreated that morning, I had forced myself to believe that it was better this way. We would find a way back to what we had before and pretend it didn’t happen, but when you instead cut me out of your life completely, I began to realize the error of my ways.”
Loki slipped from the bench and dropped down to his knees in front of you before looking up into your eyes and tightly gripped your hands in his.
“Darling, the last few weeks have been torture for me. I can’t think about anything but you. I can’t eat. I can’t sleep. I can’t focus on anything but you and everything I’ve lost. You are not only my best friend, but also my better half. I made myself believe that you deserved better than me and I tried to let you go, but I’m too selfish to let that happen. When I saw you dancing with that imbecile tonight and was forced to watch someone other than myself lay their hands on you in very inappropriate ways, I wanted to murder him in the most painful manner imaginable.”
You tried as hard as possible to hide the smirk that formed at his jealousy, but it was enough to help calm him back down again.
“My Love, even though you never actually answered my question, I need you to know that I whole heartedly mean what I am telling you. I love you, Y/N. I may have always loved you and just been too blind to see it until now. Either way, I realize it now. I need you in my life to survive. While I do wish our first time together had been different, I don’t regret that it happened because it made me see what was in front of me this entire time. My past has made it difficult for me to receive love and give it in return, but more than anything, I want to try. You make me want to be better and do better. Please let me fix this. I can’t go another day without you.”
The need to pinch yourself to check if you were dreaming was a strong urge, but at the same time, if you were asleep, you didn’t want to wake up right now. Loki’s eyes searched yours and silently pleaded for an answer. It almost appeared as if he was actually holding his breath as he waited for you to speak. Feeding off his own courage, you took a deep breath and tried to push through the emotions in order to respond.
“Yes, Loki. I meant it. I love you and I’ve loved you for a really long time. I suppose a drunken night was the only way I was going to tell you because in my heart, I never thought you would ever love me back. I had settled for the fact that I would only be in your life as your best friend and never anything more. In the beginning when I first realized I had fallen in love with you, it hurt to see so many people come and go, knowing behind that door they were getting something I would never experience. After a while though, I started to realize that while they were gifted with a side of you that I didn’t have, it was just a small part of you and I got the rest. I knew they were just flings to you and a means to an end. They didn’t get late night talks or lazy days in the library together. Those people were never given long walks through the park or rainy afternoons in a dimly lit bookstore looking for secret treasures. I was the one that got to see your eyes light up when you found a book you had been searching for or the way you only look completely relaxed and at peace around me and no one else. Even around the rest of the team, you put up a wall to part of yourself and for some unknown reason, I was the only person besides your mother that was blessed with a key to it… I am head over heels in love with you Loki Laufeyson and I can’t live my life without you either.”
The tears in his eyes now matched the one in yours. With one swift movement, Loki wrapped his hand around the back of your neck and pulled you into a heated kiss. When he finally pulled away to allow you both a breath, the smile on his face was the biggest you had ever seen. If it was possible, you wished to capture the moment in your memory forever as he stared back at you in complete awe and adoration. He lifted his hands to kiss your knuckles before standing and pulling you up from the bench. With one hand against your lower back to press you tighter against him, his other hand cupped your cheek as his thumb softly caressed the skin beneath it.
“You have no idea how happy you make me, darling. I love you so very much.”
“I love you too.”
Leaning up on your toes to better reach him, he leaned down to close the remaining distance to place a sweet kiss against your lips. When he pulled away, his gaze shifted from a loving one to something slightly darker as the thought formed in his head. The raise of your eyebrows in a question caused him to release a deep chuckle at the silent conversations that always took place between you.
“What do you say we get out of here and you let me redo the night we should have had together?”
“I’m listening… what exactly did you have in mind, Mischief?”
With his arms wrapped around you, he swayed the two of you back and forth as he appeared to ponder the thought. The way his voice was now deeper caused a chill to run through you.
“Instead of a bottle of tequila and the living room floor, how do you feel about a nice hot bath together, soft candle light, and so many slow building orgasms that you forget all names except mine?”
The way your eyes widened just as you swallowed hard made the deep chuckle return causing you feel the vibrations of it when his chest pressed against yours. With him now leaning down to press his lips directly against the shell of your ear, the feel of his breath caused the flush of your skin to deepen.
“Besides, the rest of the team is still inside the party behind us and won’t be home until the early morning hours. That should allow me the privacy needed to make it up to you properly and very thoroughly, my dear.”
Loki didn’t even wait for a response before the two of you disappeared in a flash of green. The echo of your giggle the only sign you had been there at all.

Stay the Night
Warnings: unwanted touching, noncon. Y'all know I do it dark and spicy. You have warnings, use them.
Oops, I added a side of roommate! Steve. Thots, comments, screaming, and feedback are welcome and highly encouraged. Thank you!
Tumblr media
“Why don’t you take the couch? I’m certain Steve wouldn’t mind?” you ask as Loki stands behind the closet door, “you can’t sleep on the floor.”
You kick the door shut and face Loki. It’s almost funny how he has the borrowed sweats rolled at his waist. Even then the droop dangerously, and Steve’s tee is loose as it billows from his shoulders.
“I couldn’t ask him for any more. He is overly helpful,” he insists, “I don’t mind the floor,” he pauses and hiccups behind his hand, “I shouldn’t have had that glass of wine.”
“Ah, no biggie, it’ll be like my birthday,” you turn and lead him down the hall, “remember? I feel asleep watching that movie. I can’t believe you didn’t wake me up.”
“Is that what happened?” Steve emerges from the bathroom, a pair of flannel pajama pants and nothing else.
“I told you about it,” you stick your tongue out at him.
“Apologies, I didn’t think to invite you,” Loki interjects as you go into your room and he leans on the door frame.
“Oh, she did. But I was busy,” Steve answers. “I took her to dinner the next night instead, had to make it up.”
“You? As if.” You scoff as you lay out the feathery duvet and place the pillow atop it, a makeshift bed you don’t think will be big enough for Loki’s lanky height, “I owe you for the leeway on rent.”
“One week, come on,” he says as he peeks in beside Loki, the two of them watching you make-up the floor, “you sure we can't pay for a cab, buddy?”
“Save your money, I can bear a few aches,” Loki affirms.
You finish up and stand as it goes silent. You look up at them as they stare each other down. They are two very different types, you’ve noticed the tension before. You sigh into a yawn.
“Well, I am pooped,” you announce, “so, bedtime?”
“Oh, certainly,” Loki enters, “as you say, pooped.”
“You have a good night you two,” Steve says, “don’t be staying up till morning telling scary stories.”
“You’re stupid,” you roll your eyes at him.
“Nighty night,” he winks and flips the light off before shutting the door.
You blink through the darkness as your vision slowly adjusts. You exclaim as Loki scares you, walking into you in the shadows. You giggle as he apologises and steps back.
“No problem,” you say and go to the bed, cautiously climbing onto the mattress.
You tuck yourself under the blankets and you squint as you watch his hazy form lower onto the floor. He exhales as he lays on his back. You close your eyes, slightly wired from the unexpected company.
“So… when are you getting a place of your own?”
“Hmm? What do you mean?”
“Well, you’ve been here a while and you’re doing better… I only thought it was inevitable.”
“Oh, I guess. I’ve been so busy I didn’t have time to think of it, I guess,” you keep your eyes shut. “Well, just another thing to figure out.”
“Ah,” he clucks, “well, my place is much bigger so even if you’re just looking for more space…”
“Oh, Loki, I couldn’t,” you wiggle and turn over, “but I appreciate the offer,” you yawn again, “besides, it’s too late to worry about all that.”
💚
You feel the bed shift, not quite awake or asleep. Stuck in the middling purgatory of subconscious restlessness. You hear yourself snort and grumble but don’t reach the surface of wakefulness.
A warmth snakes around you, a soft squeeze on your chest, more fervent as you cling to your pillow. A plucking as a twinge nestles at the base of your spine. A tickle along your stomach and the cool air of the room wafting beneath the warm layers.
A firm brush along your waist, the squeeze of elastic sliding down your legs. A groan as you’re turned onto your back, one leg parted from the other. The heat of a soft palm against you, long fingers delving like tendrils between your folds. Twirling and twisting your nerves into a knot as your breath hitches.
Your eyes open in shock at the realisation. It isn’t a dream. You grumble and look over. The blankets on the floor are messy but the figure is gone. You turn back and watch Loki as he hushes you, his hand buried between your thighs as you push them together.
“We’re best friends, aren’t we?” he coos, “and best friends would do anything for each other.”

{REQUESTED}
Hydrangea - How would this yandere react if their darling gave them affection? What is their internal thought process like?
Henry - He would be absolutely delighted. He will gladly return your affection by giving you light touches, placing you in his lap, and over all spoil you.
Miru - He would blush a lot and get a lite shy. He doesn't know how to show affection, but he will learn from you. Sometimes, he would give you hints that he wants your affection, but would be too scared to ask for it.
Aaron - He will get really excited. He will give you affection to a point where it becomes overbearing, though.
Loki - At first, he's confused. He would ask you what you're doing, since he's not used to receiving affection. Loki even flinches when you touch him, but then he purrs and leans into your touch. He's not used to even being touched, but he appreciates how close you want to be with him regardless of that.
Micheal - He would somehow use this against you, especially if you're touch starved. He will give you light and teasing touches, and sometimes he will be showing you affection and then suddenly stop so you will be begging for more.

Don't Need To Hide
avengers x reader ( mostly bucky and Loki)
warnings, angst, depressive themes, swearing, SHscars, fluff towards the end.
gender-neutral pronoun, not edited so please be lenient with the writing.
summary: you are just going on your morning run when someone shows up unexpectedly seeing something they weren't supposed to see.
you sighed tying up your hair in a loose ponytail, throwing on some running shorts and a tee-shirt. You catch a glimpse of your legs, littered with scars, big and small. You run your hand over some of them feeling the bump in your skin.
going down the stairs towards the common room, it was 5:30 so Cap was already doing his workout along with Buck and everyone else was still asleep so it was the only time you could go for a run without worrying about someone seeing your scars.
grabbing an ice-cold bottle of water from the fridge and chugging the cool liquid before you go out. you tuck a loose strand of hair behind your ear and begin to make your way outside.
you open the door and the wind immediately hits your face, beginning to leave you to watch a car drive by on the side of the road. "that's unusual, this early especially " you mumble under your breath.
as you near the end of your run your start to grow tired. you check your watch 6:12 it reads 'ok so I have 18 mins to get inside' you think.
you made it to the tower ran inside and decide to take the stairs just in case people woke up a little early and were going to be in there. You're walking up the stairs when the door above you opens, quickly ducking under the stairs in order to hide you hear people. " come on brother, just walk with me the stairs are much more relaxing than those small metal boxes that travel up and down the floors!".
' shit it's thor, when did he get back? dammit,' you tuck your body as close to under the stairs as possible in order to hide from them. ' what brother- Loki? shit isn't he magic? let's hope he doesn't see me' your mind is racing hoping they don't see you and just get out as quick as possible.
they make your way past you without incident and they don't seem to see you, you hear the door at the bottom of the stairwell open and they leave. you wait just in case but as you don't hear anything you get out of your hiding spot.
"hello"
you whip around to see Loki standing there, " umm, hi? didn't you just leave?" you said not trying to not sound rude.
" well my brother can easily be fooled with a simple illusion and it seems you can too." he responded with a matter of factly tone. " but, I was just a tad bit curious as to why you seemed to be hiding under the stairs ?" he questions. " umm, I just- well you see- I don't really- it just that i- well- " "relax," he tells you "I don't bite"
you struggle to find an acceptable answer without telling him the truth, " i just-" tears pricked at your eyes and your breathing became uneven.
your hyperventilating now, and he looks very confused. " Jarvis tells the team- th-that will be in my room until lunch, j-just say I'm feeling sick' you say. I run up the stairs with a very confused Loki standing in shock still at the bottom of the stairs.
Loki pov:
'What on Midgard was that mortal doing, what were those things on her legs? why were they crying? what is this feeling? guilt? no, I can be feeling sympathy?' i teleport to the common room as Jarvis is finishing the message and they share a look as if to say 'there's no way there actually sick'
3rd person Pov: bucky sits up, " ill go check up on them, ill call if I need anything" he says and leaves everyone else feeling worried for the smallest avengers until Natasha's gaze falls on Loki. " where were you, were you with them, what did you do?"
you were sitting in the corner, thoughts racing and tears streaming down your face. ' they cant know- they just can't, did he see them?' you hadn't noticed that a solid ten minutes had gone by and you barely heard the knock on the door. " y-yeah? who is it?" you question. " it's just me doll, can I come in?" you scramble to grab a blanket to cover your legs. " y-yeah what up?". he enters and sits by your side " so you're sick huh? just so you know no one buys it. why don't you tell me what's up. ?"
back in the common room Loki was pleading his innocence and explaining what happened" thor grabbed me for breakfast and as we entered they hid under the stairs at first I thought they were scared of me but their thoughts said otherwise" he explained, " well what did their thoughts say then" cap said accusingly.
" They kept repeating the same thongs over and over, " they cant know" over and over so I grew curious and turned invisible and led an illusion out the door with thor, they crawled out of the stairs and I said hello; I asked what they were doing and they couldn't answer me they just didn't" Loki drifted off at the end of his sentence before continuing " they started crying and hyperventilating and then left telling Jarvis to deliver the message which you all heard."
"buck I don't want t-to to talk about it," I say barely above a whisper clinging to his side and hiding my face in his ribs. " it's ok, just know I'm here if you need to talk ok?' he said as he caressed small shapes into your back as he held you close.
you sat there for a moment before there was a knock on the door. " h-hello?" you asked " may I come in" you heard the voice say ' Loki?' you thought. " umm yeah sure".
the door creaked open and Loki popped his head in " I'm sorry if I upset you earlier, I was merely curious as to why you were hiding" he stated. " hide?" bucky questioned. "yeah I was hiding under the stairs, I don't wanna talk about it" I said pressing myself into Buck's side.
" come on doll what's up?" he said trying to get you to open up. bucky turns to look at you and in doing so he moved the blanket, not that you noticed. " just talk to me-' he cut himself off as he caught a glance at the scars on your leg.
" y/n what are those," he said running his hand over the lines that were scattered across your legs.
you scramble to grab the blanket as you internally freak out " i- um"
"Buck" you whisper, " I'm so sorry, so sorry I'm so sorry," you say barely audible over your tears. " shh it's okay" he whispers bringing you closer and Loki closes the door behind him coming to join you both on the floor.
Loki rubs your back trying his best to calm you down. " it ok little one, just calm down ok?" he says. your crying slows and you try and pull the blanket to cover your legs but Bucky grabs your wrist. " you don't need to hide, ok? everyone has battles. some are worse than others but the important thing is you are here now and the whole team can help you get better, even Loki. " he says continuing to rub up and down your arm.
That's it let me know if you want a part two maybe with the rest of the team! have a nice day and remember people care, drink some water and have a snack!

Three Words; Fifteen Letters; One Expletive
Summary: where best friends may, in fact, fall for best friends.
Tumblr media
“I don’t understand why you haven’t told him already, N/n. It’s clear as day that he likes you too.” You huffed.
You were trapped, metaphorically speaking anyways. Natasha and Wanda had asked you—more like blackmailed you—into joining them for a ‘nice conversation’ in the kitchen. You knew that it would be about none other than Loki, the man who had managed to capture your heart.
Everyone on the team had tried to convince you to finally confess your feelings to the God, but you never listened. So, they had to get creative.
“Nat, Wanda, we’ve had this conversation too many times already. I am not confessing to Loki. End of discussion.”
“But N/n, he likes you too, what are you so afraid of?” Wanda questioned.
“I’m not scared of anything, Wanda. I just don’t see the point in confessing.”
That couldn’t be further from the truth. You were petrified of confessing your feelings for him. The trope of best friends to lovers wasn’t like the tales you were told. Situations like Monica and Chandler or Jim and Pam didn’t happen in real life, why would it happen to you?
“You’re lying, Y/n. There’s nothing to be afraid of.” Their attempt to soothe you worries were sweet but trying to breed hope for something that could never happen...it hurt. It had to stop.
“Of course there is!” You screamed, much to the surprise of the two female avengers. “Me confessing could ruin everything. The amazing friendship that we share now could be ruined. I couldn’t live with that.”
Tears threatened to fall from your eyes, but you refused to let them fall.
“Best friends don’t fall for best friends. That’s a trope that writers explore to make people like me feel that there is hope for it to happen. But it won’t! It just won’t...drop it, please.”
There was a pause. The two friends really wanted to respect your wishes, but they couldn’t. Everyone on the team could see that you belonged together, they weren’t going to give up their fight.
“We won’t. You two belong together, Y/n. Why can’t you understand that?” Wanda elbowed Natasha.
“What she means, is that you could always try. There is no harm in that, N/n. Just try and confess to him.”
“What? Am I meant to walk up to him and say, ‘Hi Loki, I fucking love you!’ and then walk off? Nah-uh. Not happening. Drop the conversation, please.” The two friends grinned at each other when you began to walk back to your room.
You began to walk back to your room, your heart heavy with sorrow. Just as you were about to turn the corner, you bumped into a very muscular wall, and your eyes widened.
“You love me?” He whispered.
Oh no. That was not how this was meant to go. He wasn’t meant to hear any of that.
“What? I think you must’ve heard the wrong conversation. I said, ‘Hi Loki, I fucking shove you!’ Not love. No, not love.”
That was the best you could come up with, Y/n? Shove you?
“Well, then this will make this awkward.”
“Make what awkward-”
You were cut off mid-sentence by Loki pressing his soft lips onto yours.
“In case you were confused. Y/n, I fucking love you.”
Maybe sometimes best friends do fall for best friends.

Touch Tank
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Word Count: 5.5k (look it wasn't supposed to be this many- my characters got away from me)
Warnings: sheesh, oral (f receiving), fingering, handjob, creampie, Loki is very soft and worshiping, unprotected sex (be safe) I think that's it idk this is kind of mild compared to some of my other stuff- could be waaaay more raunchy lmao
Genre: fluff, smut
Summary: Loki is not the easiest person to get close to, but you're not deterred by his standoffishness. He deserves a friend in the tower and you're determined to be at least that much.
He's so pretty when he goes down on me // he tells me he's gentle when he wants to be // I think he wants to be gentle with me ~ Touch Tank by Quinnie
Tumblr media
***
You rush down the hall, excited for your night out with a group of your non-Avenger friends. You make a point to see your other friends as often as you can to balance those relationships with your ones on the team. After all, living with the Avengers means that you see them all the time, but being an Avenger is not all there is to you. Walking into the main room you're surprised to see Loki sitting at the kitchen counter, just kind of staring at nothing.
"You alright Lo?" You ask him carefully. Your question seems to pull him out of whatever trance he was in.
"I'm fine." He says, though his face isn't convincing.
"Okay? Happy staring- I'm going out so- I'll see you later then." You frown heading over to the main elevator. Loki's not exactly close to anyone in the tower except Thor, and even that he'd argue is false but you always make a point to include him even when the others ignore him a bit. As you ride down to street level you can't help but wonder what has him so pensive up there by himself. On the street, waiting for a taxi to flag down, you can't get yourself to shake Loki from your mind so- reluctantly you dial one of your friends.
"Y/n!" Your friend's excited voice practically yells down the line.
"Hey! Listen, you know I hate to do this, and I wouldn't if it wasn't important, but I'm not going to be able to make it out tonight, something's come up. I'm okay, I just can't come. You guys have fun! I want loads of pictures and a play-by-play once one of you returns to life tomorrow yeah?"
"Aw we're gonna miss you!"
"Ditto! But I'll see you guys soon! Tell the girls I said hi!" You say.
"Of course! Take care, and call if you need anything!"
"Same to you!" You blow a kiss as you end the call and sigh. "Dammit Loki." You roll your eyes as you turn around and go back inside. You ride the elevator back up to the main floor where Loki is still sitting at the counter. You knock on the counter in front of him and grab a bottle of water from the fridge.
"Aren't you meant to be going somewhere?" Loki's eyes narrow at you.
"I was, but I called my friend on my way down and she's actually not feeling too hot so we decided it'd be best to reschedule once she's feeling better." You shrug. You know better than to tell him you cancelled your plans because you saw him moping at the counter. He'd flip at the first possible hint of you pitying him, even though that isn't what this is.
"I see."
"Do you want to watch a movie or something?" You offer.
"What?" He scoffs.
"Well- I was supposed to be spending time interacting with people tonight and that fell through but I'd feel kinda bummed if I spent the whole evening alone now after all the mental prep to be social so if you can be so terribly bothered to hang out for a bit I'd- value that." You say. Loki looks you over as he considers your words and then he sighs.
"I suppose I could spare a few hours, but only because I can't stand watching you mope around the tower the way you do whenever you're disappointed, it's pathetic. But this favor is a huge inconvenience to me I just want you to know that." He says and you have to fight the urge to smile. You know the show of bravado is for his own sake more than anything, and you're willing to let him have it, but it's funny to think of how much rationalizing he's doing to convince himself it's alright to spend time with you.
"Your sacrifice is both duly noted and greatly appreciated. I can offer you compensation in the form of a meal or freshly baked cookies." You say. Loki's eyes light up very briefly at the offer of cookies, he'll never admit it out loud but he loves your baking, he always eats almost half a tray when you make them.
"You know Midgardian food has very little appeal to me, but I suppose a batch of cookies will do." He says with feigned disinterest.
"Do you want them now or at a later date?"
"I have no interest in dragging this out, so now would be better."
"Alright, give me five minutes to change, I'll make you some cookies and we can throw on a movie." You smile at him. You change out of your dress and into a hoodie and shorts. Twenty minutes later you're sat with a tray of cookies and a few other small bites with some random sitcom on the TV.
"I don't understand the point of this. Is there even a plotline?" Loki scoffs.
"Yes but only a little one."
"A little one?"
"So there are a number of shows that you can throw on and watch out of order with little consequence. Like if you do watch every episode in order there is a throughline of like character development and life changes but if you jump into, let's say, season 3 episode 2, you'll just see some funny little antics that are mostly inconsequential and chances are will not come up again until maybe the finale where they recount all their little goofs over the years." You explain.
"Why?"
"Mindless entertainment? It's nice to have something to watch that you don't have to be aware of watching." You shrug. "Lots of shows have complex storylines and characters that need to be paid attention to in order to comprehend what you're watching. Sometimes you don't want to do all of that." You shrug.
"If you don't want to think about what you're watching, why watch anything?" He frowns.
"Pass the time, fill the silence, any number of things. Like we have one on but we're talking now so we're not really paying it any attention, but because it's a sitcom we're not missing anything vital because there's nothing vital to miss. And when this conversation lulls to a stop we'll just tune back in and pick up wherever it's at."
"Your Midgardian habits are very strange." Loki hums.
"What do you do when you're bored and want to be entertained without much effort?" You ask him.
"That specific phenomenon I'm not quite familiar with. If I'm bored, I read, practice spells, on Asgard there wasn't much time for boredom." He shrugs.
"Well, things are different on Midgard. And seeing as you hate everyone and everything about this place you may find yourself well acquainted with that specific phenomenon sooner than you might think." You say.
You gotta say you're pretty proud of your ability to interact positively with Loki. When he first started living here you never would've guessed you'd be watching movies and having silly conversations like this. He's always been rather closed off from the team but perhaps that's something you can actually work around.
*~*~*
"Loki!" You call when you catch him in the hall.
"What?" He rolls his eyes.
"Are you busy?" You ask.
"Why?" His eyes narrow suspiciously.
"Well I was meant to go to the aquarium with Thor today-"
"Thor is on Asgard." Loki says.
"Yes exactly." You nod. You weren't meant to do anything with Thor today, but it seems the key to the trickster god is minor deceptions.
"Did he forget you were going to this 'aquarium' today?"
"It would appear so. Which- I'm not mad about really but these tickets did cost money and I can't exchange them for another date so I was hoping you'd be able to replace him that way the ticket doesn't go to waste." You explain to him.
"You don't have anyone else you could ask?" He huffs.
"Not on such short notice." You shake your head.
"How short is short notice?"
"We need to be there in forty minutes."
"Oh you have got to be kidding me." Loki scoffs.
"If you come with me, when we get back I'll bake you a batch of cookies." You offer. It seems to be the easiest way to get him to do things. You watch Loki contemplate for a moment before he caves to his inner discussion although you're not sure there was much of a debate once you offered baked goods.
"Very well, I'll go so you don't waste your money, but you can't keep bringing your nonsense to me in exchange for cookies." He says.
"Of course not!" You smile knowing damn well you will be doing it again if you see fit. Loki will never admit to enjoying your company or wanting you to make him cookies, but considering he always accepts your offers and never truly complains when you're together, you know the irritation is only a front. "We'll leave in 15 minutes 'kay?"
"Very well." He says. You head back to your room to get yourself together and 15 minutes later you meet Loki by the kitchen.
"Ready Lo?" You ask.
"Yes let's get on with it." He says. You loop your arm through his as you leave the tower and you're surprised he doesn't protest the contact, but you won't bring it up. At the aquarium, you excitedly talk about all your favorite exhibits as you walk from section to section. "So what was the plan exactly?" Loki asks.
"What?"
"With Thor, why were you bringing him here in the first place?"
"Oh! Well because there's a lot he still wants to learn about Earth so I've been trying to take him places where he can learn a number of things at the same time." You shrug.
"And how is that going?"
"We've done the zoo and a couple of museums already so I'd say not bad. Oh, we're by the jellyfish, you should see the touch tank!" You say.
"The what now?" Loki frowns. You grab his hand and lead him to the shallow tank of water off to one side.
"This is a touch tank. These are jellyfish, they're like 95% water and don't have brains, some of them are dangerous, but these ones are pretty harmless and you can touch them! Only on the tops of their heads though. Like this." You lift his hand up and push down all but two of his fingers and then slowly, you guide his hand into the water. "You have to be gentle." You tell him softly as you let his fingers touch the top of a moon jelly in the pool. You turn to Loki with a small smile only to find him already looking at you very intensely.
"I'm quite gentle when I want to be." He says quietly. You step back a bit and clear your throat, dipping your own fingers in to touch a jellyfish for yourself.
"Well I hope you want to be gentle with the moon jellies. This is one of my favorite things here." You tell him.
"So anyone can just walk up and pet the jellyfish?"
"Yeah! Isn't it cool?"
"Sure." He nods.
"Wait till you see some of the other Jellyfish they've got here! They're insane!" You take his hand again and walk further into the jellyfish exhibit.
"They have more open tanks of creatures?"
"Oh- no all the other Jellyfish are in closed tanks." You giggle.
"Just as well, you said some are dangerous, no?"
"Well, yes, but aren't they just so beautiful?" You say looking at one of the tanks.
"Breathtaking." Loki says before he can help himself. He clears his throat, lucky you're so captivated with the floating water creatures that you don't even notice his eyes on you as opposed to the exhibits.
"Thank you for coming with me." You tell him.
"You bribed me."
"True- but you still could have said no. Especially since you're not even a fan of our, how do you say it? 'Mediocre Midgardian food'."
"Yes well, you pout when you're disappointed and it's incredibly displeasing to see. The whole tower suffers your moods. And while Midgardian food is mediocre yours is- the least. Plus I can rub this in Thor's face."
"I see you really weighed those pros and cons." You chuckle.
"I must. If I'm to disrupt my entire afternoon on such short notice." He shrugs. You roll your eyes and pull him through to the next exhibit but the smile on your face can't be hidden.
~*~*~
You hum to yourself as you enter the tower library.
"Good morning Loki." You say immediately spotting him on one of the lounge chairs. He's always in here, it's like his sanctuary and over the last few weeks you've found it easy to interact with him.
"It's 3pm y/n."
"It's morning somewhere Lo, time is arbitrary, don't be a grump." You shrug.
"What are you doing here anyway?" He rolls his eyes.
"Utilizing the insane collection of books we have considering there's only like 3 people living here that would ever pick up a book for from here."
"You've been coming here a lot lately."
"Why should you be the only one taking advantage of this big otherwise undisturbed room?"
"The best part of this room is that none of you come here."
"If you want to not run the risk of having to interact with anyone who lives here to might I suggest your room which has a lock on it." You smile brightly.
"Very funny." Loki scoffs.
"I thought so too!" You snap back. Loki gives you a dry look.
"Must you be so-"
"Charming? Witty? Adorable?"
"Not quite the adjectives I would've chosen." He says.
"Well next time finish your sentence." You wink at him.
"Are you trying to get under my skin?"
"Of course not! But it's pretty easy."
"Why must you bother me?" His eyes narrow.
"Maybe because you like talking to me more than you want to admit."
"And why would you think that?"
"Because you always do."
"Do what?"
"I'm sure you can figure that out." You say turning to leave the library.
"Do what y/n!?" He calls after you. "You didn't even get a book!" He shouts as the library doors close behind you. Loki frowns to himself for a moment and then decides to contact the only person he'd ever go to for advice on any subject. A looking glass spell slowly brings Frigga to life above his palm.
"Mother." He gets her attention.
"Loki?" Frigga picks up her looking glass with a smile. "Hello my darling boy. So lovely to hear from you. Thor tells me you're well."
"In the physical sense, yes." Loki nods.
"What troubles you my dear son?"
"I think Midgardian women might be more confusing than those on Asgard." Loki says.
"A woman? Do you feel for her?"
"Don't be ridiculous mother." Loki's words come out as a breathless chuckle.
"It is not ridiculous. She plagues your mind. Why, if you do not feel for her?"
"Truthfully I'm not sure." He frowns.
"Have you considered that you feel for her?"
"How would I know?"
"I believe the fact that you are asking may perhaps be a strong indicator already. This girl, do you see her often?"
"She lives here so yes." He nods.
"I mean intentionally darling." Frigga smiles.
"What?"
"Walking past her in the hallways is not quite what I'm referring to."
"Oh- well she's the least insufferable person here so- sometimes, yes. Though it's usually her bribing me to do things when her other plans fall through."
"What do you mean?"
"Well she invited me to this water creature house they call an aquarium a couple of weeks ago because Thor forgot he was meant to go with her."
"Are you sure Thor was meant to go with her?" She asks.
"I don't follow." Loki shakes his head.
"I wonder if this girl is playing tricks on my trickster." Frigga smiles knowingly.
"Do you overestimate her or underestimate me to believe I could be outsmarted by a mortal?"
"It is not a blow Loki, be calm my son. She plagues your mind when she is not there, she has made her way to a spot many people never have the pleasure of knowing within you. I believe she has stolen your heart and even you do not know it yet."
"What makes you think that?"
"In all your years Loki you have never once asked me about a girl. And this one seems to have you quite... wrapped."
"I resent that notion." He scoffs.
"What made you contact me?"
"Well she was-" Loki stops himself, his mother has already decided Loki is a goner, perhaps he shouldn't feed her any more information.
"She was with you Loki?"
"I spend a lot of time in the library. She came by and we had a short conversation that's all."
"What did she say?" Frigga asks.
"She thinks I like her more than I do. Or rather more than I will admit. I asked her why and she refused to answer."
"Well- what would lead her to believe that?"
"I have no idea." Loki scoffs.
"How is your relationship with her different than with the others?"
"I don't speak to the others. I only speak to her and Thor."
"Tell me about her."
"She is- happy, but not like Thor- his happiness is loud and aggressive she is- a calmer happiness. She seems to be crucial to the peace in this madhouse. Not for me, for everyone. She's also frustratingly smart, she has a comeback for everything and- it's nice to feel as though someone on this dreadful planet can match me- even if I find it vexing at times. Also she bakes- I don't quite enjoy Midgardian food but her treats are quite good though I refuse to tell her that-"
"I'm sure she knows." Frigga says with a soft smile.
"Why are you smiling like that."
"If you could see your face when you speak of this girl you would know like I know that your heart is no longer yours."
"My heart is very much still-"
"No darling. You may not realize but your mind has already given your heart to her. Follow your heart to her. Allow yourself to go there. It will do you good and you deserve it."
"Mother I cannot." He shakes his head.
"You can, and I suggest you do soon. If you do not tell her she has your heart you risk her unknowingly breaking it. Though I sense she is more aware than you may think. Certainly she's more aware than you are."
"You keep saying that-"
"There was no day planned with Thor. I would bet money she wanted to go with you, but you are a tricky thing. To catch fox you must think like one."
"What do I do mother? If you are right and this girl does have me, what do I do?" Loki asks.
"Be kind, be honest, be true. Don't wait too long." Frigga warns.
"Don't wait too long?" He frowns.
"Yes child, that woman will not wait forever for you to wake up."
"What if she is not waiting?"
"You misunderstand. I'm not saying she is waiting on you to come to your senses what I'm saying is that affections change one day she may not enjoy your time as she does now, someone serious may woo her and you miss your chance entirely, stars forbid it but something could happen to her or you. Do not get in your own way Loki, you have a tendency to do that."
"I do not get in my own way."
"Loki." Frigga says, leveling her son with an unimpressed look.
"I will consider your advice mother thank you." Loki cedes.
"Good. I will expect an update soon so be prepared for me to check in."
"Of course mother. Take care."
"You too my son." Frigga sets her looking glass down and Loki disconnects his end of the spell with a sigh. If Frigga is correct, Loki has much to consider, and rather quickly based on her warnings.
*~*~*
When the door to the library opens you don't bother looking up. The book you're reading is far too interesting to stop mid-page.
"What are you doing?" Loki jumps when he walks passed you. You look up momentarily, debating how badly you want to make a stupid joke.
"I'm practicing my backhand spring." You say flatly.
"You're sitting on the couch?"
"I'm also holding a book and yet you asked what I'm doing. I don't know what answer you expected honestly." You shrug.
"I just meant you're not usually sitting around in here."
"Is reading in the library that odd to you?" You chuckle.
"Well- no. I was just expecting the library to be empty." He says.
"Would you like me to leave?"
"Why would you offer to leave? You were here first."
"Yeah but I can read anywhere. Your hermit tendencies limit your spaces far more than mine."
"I am not a hermit." Loki rolls his eyes.
"Of course not." You hum.
"I'm not. I just have no desire to waste my time having unintelligent conversations with the uncultured morons that live here."
"Well don't let me bother you then."
"Not you, the others. And you can obviously stay."
"Why thank you for deeming me worthy enough to stay in your presence." You quip dramatically.
"It's not as if you care what I deem anyhow."
"True, that was sarcasm. Happy reading." You turn your attention back to your book and though Loki would like the conversation to continue he can't think of anything to say to justify pulling your focus from the book you're so clearly captivated by. You're in the library with your book for a few more hours and during that time Loki cannot help the way his eyes wander to you every so often, he doesn't even realize it's happening at first but once he does his mother's words that have been in his head for the past 2 weeks ring even louder.
~*~*~
"Y/n!" Wanda practically sings as she walks, no from the sound of it she's skipping, over to you at the kitchen island.
"Yes Wanda my dear?" You chuckle, setting your sandwich back on its plate.
"You know our coffee shop?"
"Around the block?"
"Yep!" She nods.
"What of it?"
"Well I heard through the grapevine that someone who works there has a crush on you."
"You heard- through the grapevine?" You quirk up an eyebrow at her.
"Cassie told me."
"How did you end up in that conversation?" You chuckle.
"Not the point, we should go down there!" She suggests excitedly.
"I'm eating a sandwich-"
"Not right now, tomorrow morning."
"You wanna tell me- who this mystery crush is? Because I'm not going anywhere if you don't tell me." You say biting your sandwich.
"It's Elliot."
"Oh he's cute-"
"Wanda." Vision calls as the main elevator arrives.
"Soooo we'll game plan when I get back?" She asks walking backwards.
"Fine." You shake your head and chuckle as she disappears in the elevator with Vision. You take a bite of your sandwich, presumably alone again, only to hear a throat clearing from behind you. You look over your shoulder to find Loki the source of the sound.
"Oh hi Loki." You say covering your mouth.
"Hello." He mutters.
"What brings you out of hiding today?"
"I'm not a hibernating bear you know."
"Of course not." You hum. Loki opens the fridge to grab something to drink, although it's mostly just so he can convince himself to bite the bullet and confess to you before this 'Elliot' from the coffee shop has an opportunity to turn your head like his mother warned him of.
"Do you have a moment? I know you're- eating but I'd like to talk- about something." He says awkwardly.
"Sure. I can use multiple senses at once. What's up?" You ask taking another bite of your sandwich. Loki opens his mouth a couple of times before he frowns. "Is something wrong Loki?"
"I don't know." He says, brows furrowed as he looks at the floor.
"You don't know if something's wrong? Are you dizzy? Dehydrated? Feverish? Do you need to sit down?" You sit up, concerned.
"No, I don't."
"You sure? You look kind of- constipated. I think you should sit down."
"I don't want to y/n." He grits out.
"Okay, calm down no need to get angry with me for caring."
"You said I look constipated!"
"Well you do! But only a little bit!"
"This is not going at all how I planned it?"
"What are you on about Loki?" You frown.
"Nothing it was just way easier to do this in my head."
"Easier to do what?"
"Never mind. Enjoy your lunch." Loki pivots and you almost knock over your barstool trying to stop him from leaving the kitchen.
"Not so fast god of mischief tell me what it is you're so panicked about."
"It's nothing y/n." He rolls his eyes.
"Nonsense. If it were nothing you wouldn't have made such a big deal out of it in the first place." You tell him.
"Yes, I over reacted, which is what I just realized and why I'm no longer interested in having this conversation." He says completely avoiding your gaze.
"Don't be a coward Loki." You snap.
"I beg your pardon?" His eyes widen.
"Don't be a coward. I've never known you to shy away from sharing your thoughts even when nobody asked don't tell me suddenly you're incapable of speaking your mind."
"I am far from incapable." He says.
"So spill it." You push.
"And if I don't?"
"Then you're not who I thought you were."
"Over a personal thought?" His eyebrow raises.
"It's the principle. What have you got to lose that makes you so fearful of your own voice?"
"Something I didn't even realize was important to me until recently." He says quietly.
"What's that?" You ask. Loki's eyes scan your face for a long moment, and if not for how close you are you'd swear he's holding his breath for how shallow it is.
"You." He whispers.
"I'm not going anywhere." You shake your head.
"I'm afraid you may take that back if you hear that which I refuse to say." He says.
"Is the reward worth the risk?" You ask.
"If I'm lucky."
"I'm disappointed that you see me as someone so easily run off Loki."
"That's not what this is." He shakes his head.
"No? It sounds like it."
"Do you see me as somebody that could be loved?"
"Of course I do. Thor loves you unconditionally. Your mother too from what I've heard."
"Do you see me as somebody that could be loved, by you?" This question is far more hesitant.
"Is that what you want?"
"In time, yes." He nods and a stray giggle escapes your lips.
"That's what you thought would drive me away?!" You shake your head. "Maybe you haven't noticed but I put quite a bit of effort into creating time to spend with you."
"Oh come on it's mostly coincidence, your friends canceling or Thor forgetting you had plans."
"You silly trickster. I chose to spend that time with you." You say.
"To be clear- does that mean you're as taken with me as I am with you?" Loki asks.
"You're taken with me?!" You blink at him in shock.
"Yes was I not clear about-"
"I'm joking Loki I just wanted to hear you say it directly." You smile.
"You vex me." He breathes out.
"And yet you like me anyway. Even more than I expected."
"Don't boast."
"How can I not?" You ask.
"I can think of a few ways to stop you."
"You can try Loki but I'm not so easily swayed." You taunt. Loki's hand comes up to your cheek and he kisses you. His lips are soft and he kisses you as if he's got all the time in the world. When Loki pulls away your eyes flutter open with surprise.
"How's that for sway?" He smirks.
"I'll admit that wasn't a terrible start." You breathe.
"Oh yeah?" Loki lifts you into his arms suddenly and you squeal in surprise as he carries you to his room. He lays you gently on his bed and kisses you again. "Not a terrible start is not enough." He hums trailing to your neck, peppering your throat with kisses and light nibbles. Loki pulls your shirt over your head. "Stars above you're beautiful." He mutters trailing his fingers delicately across your newly exposed skin.
"I'm not a flower you know." You giggle, the soft touches making you feel ticklish.
"What do you mean?" He frowns.
"Nothing bad. You're just being much more gentle than I'd have expected." You tell him caressing his face. He pauses for a moment as you trace his features.
"Do you remember what I said at the aquarium?"
"About the hammerhead shark reminding you of-"
"No about being gentle you silly girl." He says with a disbelieving chuckle.
"Oh! Yes that you can be when you want to be."
"Precisely."
"I didn't realize it applied elsewhere."
"Do you not like gentle?"
"Gentle is good." You shake your head. "Just unexpected." You smile. Loki returns your smile and leans down to press kisses down your abdomen. He pulls your shorts and panties off together, kissing your calf ones you're freed from the fabric. Loki's eyes are on you as his lips glide up your leg, opened mouthed kisses until he reaches your thigh where he bites at the skin, just enough for you to feel it. With one last kiss to your hip, Loki buries his face in your heat. You gasp at the first feel of his tongue against your center. His movements are unhurried as he watches your reactions to his mouth. When he finds the rhythm that you react the strongest to he sticks to it, enjoying the whimpers and moans he pulls from you and the way your body grinds against him.
"Oh god." You pant, one hand tangling in his hair. When you feel two of his fingers slowly glide into your entrance and curl upwards your eyes shoot open with a whine that makes Loki hum against you. You glance down at him, surprised to see his green eyes peering up at you with something akin to adoration shining in them and despite the pleasure building in your belly all you can think about for a brief moment is how... pretty he looks. Of course, that train of thought is lost when Loki wraps his lips around your clit, focusing his attention on the sensitive bundle of nerves. Between his tongue and his fingers you don't have a chance of staving off the orgasm that washes over you soon after. Loki works you through it, only pulling away when your breathing starts to steady.
"You are a vision in the heat of release you know." He says a hand on your chin to guide your attention.
"No, I did not know that." You smile reaching up to undress Loki. You pull his shirt over his head, littering his chest with kisses as you undo his pants but don't pull them down. You slip your hand into the waistband of his underwear stroking his hard hot dick.
"F-fucking hell you might be the death of me." Loki breathes out shuddering beneath your touch.
"I sure hope not. I quite like you alive you know." You joke with a giggle. Loki grabs your wrist and shakily pulls your hand from him.
"Right, if this goes on I'll embarrass myself." He says with a slight chuckle shifting to pull his pants down enough to free himself. He lines himself with your entrance and slowly works himself passed your walls with short rolling thrusts, deeper each time.
"That's nothing to be embarrassed about you know Loki." You tell him, admittedly a bit winded as he fills you.
"Maybe not, but I'll admit it's not ideal for our first time together." He groans as he bottoms out.
"Don't get caught up in expectations Loki." You tell him.
"Only my own darling." He says. Loki holds still for a few moments, allowing you to adjust to his size, only moving when you begin to grind against him.
"Move, Loki, please." You groan. Loki lets out a breath as he starts a steady rhythm. He's immediately a string of groans and curses in your ear as he fucks you, his sounds mingling with yours beautifully.
"Gods you feel even better than I could've imagined." He pants out between thrusts.
"Don't stop baby. God you feel so good." You moan, grinding up against his hips to meet his movements. Loki reaches between your bodies and his fingers find your clit, rubbing tight circles against the bud that turn your quiet moans to loud whines.
"Come on darling, I want to feel you cum on my dick. Please y/n- let go for me." Loki coaxes, kissing at your throat again and it doesn't take long for your body to tense with the feeling of another orgasm. Loki groans deeply as your walls tighten around him from your release.
"Did you like that Loki? Feeling my pussy clench from cumming for you? You're close aren't you? Come on baby, cum for me."
Loki's thrusts speed up a bit, then falter, and stall altogether moments later as you feel the heat of his release inside you. Loki kisses your shoulder gently as he comes down from his orgasm, your fingers stroking his hair a comfort he wouldn't have thought he'd enjoy.
"You know- I know you were trying to get me to stop boasting but if boasting always ends with us like this I'm inclined to do it more often." You say after a few moments of silence and Loki chuckles against your neck.
"Boasting is not a prerequisite my darling." He says sitting up. Loki conjures a damp cloth and gently dabs first your face, then your neck, and carefully between your legs before helping you into his shirt.
"Well what is?" You ask.
"There isn't one you tricky girl." He chuckles pulling you into his chest.
"How am I the tricky one here?"
"You caught the fox, I think that's worth some tricky points."
"What fox? Are you the fox?"
"Mhm." He nods.
"Well- then that's by far the best thing I've ever caught." You smile up at him.
"The fox isn't complaining either." He hums and you cuddle closer to him. This hadn't exactly been your original gameplan with Loki but this is way better than any outcome you could've expected.

TRUE FRIENDS
when two preexisting friends decide to start having sex.
It was a give and take between you both, as true friends would. One hand washes the other, right?
"So fucking tight." His grunts and your moans filled the room beside the slapping of naked skin. Your moans turned higher in volume as the pistoning of his hips increased, your legs sore from being folded in half for what seemed to be an eternity.
"You feel that?" His hand pushed down onto the pit of your stomach, pornographic mewl rushing past your lips at the pressure, his tip kissing your cervix "Right in your tummy. Feels good?" Your frantic nod caused the man's heart to swell with pride.
"That's what friends are for."

NETWORK OPPORTUNISM
when two people agree to serve as “backups” for each other in situations where neither of them can find another partner for the evening.
"That asshole couldn't give it to you anyway." Your moans got muffled by the pillow your head was buried in, ass in the air as his hips moved in sync to yours, hand harshly ripping the flesh of your back, red handprint on your rear. "But that's alright," His movements showed no sign of stopping, motioning you to hold the headboard for stability. "Best friend ‘s here to save your day."
The movements of his hips increased, curses falling from his lips. "There’s nothing better than this." His hand wrapped around the back of your neck, pulling you up against his chest, his breath tickling your neck. "What do you say, princess?"
A strangled mewl left your lips at the new angle, feeling him impossibly deeper in you, mind feeling hazy. "Y-yes!" You felt his chuckle against your neck, goosebumps visible on your skin.
"That's right."

SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION IN
when someone intentionally uses a FWB as a stepping-stone into a romantic relationship.
Your hands tangled into his hair as his head buried between your thighs, his hands on either side of them, holding you firmly in place. "Can't get enough of this perfect pussy." He looked up at you, mouth and chin glistening in your juices, cheeky grin on his lips.
His fingers slide through your folds, his breathing ghosting over your aching heat. "So pretty. All mine, my pretty girl." His mouth was back on your cunt, sloppily making out with your lips, whining into your pussy, hips subconsciously buckling against the sheets.
Your thighs locked around his head as you felt your orgasm washing over you, your angelic moans still reaching his covered ears, and he swore, he felt like he was in heaven.
His first step did indeed lead him to cloud nine.

TRANSITION OUT
when romantic partners decide to maintain a sexual relationship after a breakup.
"Pussy s' made for me." You bit your lip as his fingers deliciously curled up inside of you, teasingly caressing your g-spot. Your breathing turned erratic as his wrist speed up, leaning to your ear, his hot breath tickled your neck. "Still as good as in the good. Old. Days." With each word that rolled from his tongue, he accompanied sharp thrusts of his fingers.
"How about we try it again, hm?" Your eyebrows furrowed while sinful sounds escaped your lips, a chuckle erupting from his throat. "I'm just playing." His thumb attached to your sensitive bud, causing you to see stars, nearing your release. His head hung in your neck, attacking it with his lips, sucking marks onto it.
You let a mewl escape you at that, the familiar but also uncanny feeling of his lips against your tender skin bringing you closer to the edge.
"Can't hide this from your new plaything, you know that, right?"
