#loki was odin's adopted brother not his son

While I do feel Thor should have insecurities about Frigga preferring the adopted son over himself it’s a given presumption that his involvement with Odin overshadows that largely enough for it to not be mentioned much. But it shouldn’t be unless Thor doesn’t respect his mother at all.

A Better Father (Loki X Stark!Son!Reader) *PARENTAL
Characters: Loki X Stark!Son!Reader
Universe: Marvel, Avengers
Warnings: Parental negligence, bad relationship with parent, mention of drugs and underage drinking
Request: could you do a tony x son!reader, in their live, tony was always cold to him (but eventually take him in with pepper) and then Peter Parker show up and take that away, Loki see him in reader (like with odin and how he treat Loki and Thor) and decide to adopt him, teach him magic, reader happy again 😊.
Notes: I wrote this and completely forgot it's meant to be male!reader until it came time to post- I think I've corrected it, but if you spot I've accidentally used the wrong pronouns please let me know so I can fix it. Thanks!

“I’m going out!” You announced, already at the front door, pulling your shoes on and your jacket, before grabbing your bag, hand on the door handle before you got a response.
“Where to?” Pepper asked, rounding the corner, arms crossed.
“My friend is doing a school project and wants my help with it.” You excused yourself, being careful not to go into any details.
“Do you need a ride?” She asked.
“No, it’s okay, there’s a bus that takes me right outside their apartment. I don’t know how long I’ll be, since we have a lot to do, if it gets late I’ll call you to let you know I’m okay and I’ll stay over, is that okay?” You asked her. Pepper walked a little closer, her expression clearly troubled.
“I’ll have to ask your father…” She commented, and your shoulders slumped, you turning to face her.
“You know he’s not going to care, Peps. In fact, I’m going to predict what he’s going to say, something along the lines of ‘yeah, yeah, whatever’.” You mimicked, Pepper frowning, knowing you were right. “I appreciate you actually trying to make up for him, I really do. It’s why I go to you instead of him for permission- because you actually care. Please don’t waste your breath. If he actually wants to know what his son is doing, he’ll do it himself.” You pointed out.
“I know… he should be better, and I want him to be better for you… and I also know you’re lying to me.” She pointed out. You felt your heart drop into your ass, and you sighed. “I told Peter about one of your prior projects with friends, and he looked into it- wanting to see if he could help as well, but then found out that your friend doesn’t even exist.”
“Has he told Tony?” You asked.
“No. He hasn’t. I made him promise to wait, told him I’d deal with it.” She explained. “Peter also cares about you, even if he doesn’t have much time to actually spend time with you.” She pointed out, and you just nodded. You’d accepted that even though Peter was Tony’s favourite despite not actually being his kid, when Peter got an idea od the dynamic between you and your father, he tried his hardest not to play into it or make it worst, though he often realised after events that he actually had and had not realised it. He always apologised for it, always tried to spend time with you in school, and on more than one occasion, he’d covered for you or even claimed something you did that your dad didn’t like was his idea, knowing Tony wouldn’t punish him and it would stop your relationship with your dad somehow getting worse. You appreciated him, he was like a brother in a way, and at this point, more like family than your dad, like how Pepper was more of a parent than Tony was, despite you not being related either. Same with Happy. Same with…
“I’m sorry for lying to you. And Peter… I just…” You fumbled.
“What’s going on, Y/N? Where are you going?” She asked, her voice soft and welcoming, a silent promise that no matter what, she wasn’t going to yell, turn on you, that she actually cares and just wants to be there for you.
“I’ve been going to meet someone… not romantically or anything!” You told her quickly. “I’m not doing drugs or anything like that either.”
“That’s good, so you’re being responsible with this person… why have you been hiding this person from us then?” She asked. You thought for a second on how to break the news, and in that time, Pepper started to pry a little more. “Are they… older?” She asked. You nodded. “So not a teenager? Out of school?” She asked, and you nodded again. “How old are they?” She asked, tilting her head. Another hard question, and you bit your lip, and sensing you weren’t confident answering, she changed her question. “What do you two do? It’s not illegal, so what’s so bad you have to hide it?” She asked.
“He’s… mentoring me.” You told her.
“Oh, so he’s like a professor? A teacher? What’s he teaching you?” She asked with a smile, seemingly suddenly relieved, getting the idea that you were getting one on one lessons for something you were interested in as a future career, and she was ready to support you from the jump.
“Magic. He’s teaching me magic.” You admitted, which made Pepper’s eyebrows press together. “And not the cut a woman in half or pull a rabbit out of a hat kind of magic.” You clarified, and she had a moment of realisation.
“I know two people who know magic. One is Strange, who your father gets along with and so learning from him wouldn’t be a problem, which means… Loki? You’re going to see Loki? He’s teaching you magic?” She asked, and you nodded.
“Please don’t tell Tony! I promise, Loki’s been nothing but kind to me! When we’re not doing magic, we just read books together- or go on walks or stuff!” You explained.
“What kind of magic?” She demanded.
“How to teleport, how to create an illusion, today he’s teaching me a spell that translates both written and spoken languages!” You explained to her. “He said for a treat for my birthday he’s going to teach me a spell that lets me understand animals because apparently what they say is really funny and cute and he thinks I’ll like it.” You explained to her. She clearly wasn’t convinced, and you sighed. “We do other stuff to.” You told her.
“Like what?” She asked.
“You know when Tony’s in a bad mood or I do something he doesn’t like and we get into an argument and I go for a walk to cool off and don’t come back for hours? Loki walks with me. He makes sure I don’t do anything stupid… I feel so safe with him, that I feel comfortable and safe enough to actually cry.” You admitted. You watched Pepper’s concerned expression fall. You never cried- at least not at home. Not at school either, according to Peter. You didn’t cry in front of her, or Peter, or Happy, and sure as hell never in front of Tony, no matter what he said or did. “And he knows what I need when I cry. He hugs me, he just lets me cry, he doesn’t shush me or try to make me stop. If anything bad happens, I go to him first. Like when I went to that party last month and got wasted and realised I didn’t know how to get home- you and dad thought I left with a stranger and stayed with someone who I didn’t know and then came home when sober- instead I called Loki and he looked after me during the night, he rubbed my back when I threw up, hugged me and promised it was gonna be okay when I was crying, he made this really nice tea which instantly made my hangover go away, and promised if this ever happened again he’d do it all over again, and then he took me home when I felt well enough.” You admitted to her.
“Where do you two hang out, usually?” She asked.
“He has a little apartment, there’s probably a hefty amount of magic to make it so the other tenants can’t notice the door to it since it defies the floor plan of the entire building, but it’s so cozy, and warm and I have my own bedroom there- which is where I go whenever I have any ‘sleepovers’, though I do make him watch movies, especially bad ones.” You laughed. It felt so good to finally be able to talk about this- about everything you and Loki did, because time with Loki was your happy time.
“Okay… I have two questions.” She said, and you nodded, gulping. “Why…Loki? If you wanted to learn magic, why not go to Strange, and why is Loki so willing and…” She didn’t say the word, but you knew what she wanted to say. Fatherly.
“Because when he looks at me, he sees himself.” You admitted. “He told me himself… Loki didn’t have a good relationship either with his father. Thor's the golden child, Loki was the one pushed to the back, forgotten. He knows how it feels to be unwanted, to not be thought of by the person who is supposed to love you. He knows how it feels to want to be loved and no matter how hard you try, not getting it, because in your dad’s eyes, you’re not worth it. He sees me, and he sees his own childhood, and he hates that, so… he decided to do something about it.” You explained to her. “Loki… Loki’s like a dad to me. He certainly acts more like one than Tony.” You pointed out. Pepper looked devastated, but understood. “What was your other question?”
“Inevitably, Tony’s going to find out about this. I won’t tell him, I’ll feign ignorance, but Peter’s going to find out somehow, and you know that even if he wants to protect you, that boy can’t keep a secret to save his life, especially from Tony.” She pointed out. “What’s your game plan for when he finds out?” She asked.
“I’ve already got that figured out.” You reassured her. “Loki set up the bedroom for me for the worst case scenario… I graduate next year. I’ll graduate, start going to college, and I’m going to move out and live with Loki- he might move his apartment to be closer to whatever college I want to go to. If he doesn’t know by then, I’ll tell him I just have a roommate and we know he’s not going to come and visit, and after college, I’ll just slowly drop contact, keep my distance, away from him, happy, learning magic, living my own life. I’ll come visit you and Peter and Happy, regular phone calls, if you need me, call me and I’ll be there… and if Tony finds out before then? I’ll go anyway. I’ll be okay, no matter what. Loki has my back.”
“...And so do I.” She added. You two stared at each other. You weren’t sure what she was thinking, what exactly she was going to do. Ban you from seeing Loki? Tell your father? Treat you like a criminal and monster even if you’ve done nothing wrong? Be locked away? Somehow become even more of an outcast? Lose the few people you actually consider family? Lose Loki? “I won’t keep you waiting. Keep me updated on what you’re doing, if you want to stay the night let me know, okay? I’ll tell Peter something that is easier to swallow and then we’ll tell him the full truth after you graduate. I’ll explain to Happy, maybe he can also help you… please just… don’t do anything stupid. Behave. No more secrets from me, okay?” She asked.
“Okay. Thank you.” You told her, nodding with a grin. “I love you, I’ll see you tomorrow!” You told her, finally opening the door and dashing out. Pepper sighed, wondering what she was going to tell Peter to help keep in calm and not accidentally tell Tony, how she was going to get Happy to go along with this, how she’s going to look Tony in the eyes and feign ignorance, lie to his face about where his son is and who he's with. But then she remembered every time she could recall when she would come to Tony’s place and find you home alone when you were a young child, thinking it was normal, how you used to try to get his attention and him brush you off or even yell at you to go away and then slowly stop trying and instead go to her and Happy who actually cared. She remembered how utterly overjoyed you were when your dad actually came to your birthday after he was kidnapped, seeming to realise how precious life was and wanted to make up for lost time, and things were going well until Peter came into the picture, and he lost his way, his sole focus being Peter, you once again forgotten and neglected. Except this time you weren’t upset, just disappointed. You gave up on him, and instead adjusted, adapted, and found a new family. Pepper was your new mother, Peter was your brother, Happy your uncle, and Loki was your new, and much better father. You were making up for lost time with someone who actually cared and wanted you as a son. If Tony had a problem about it, he should have done something about it a long, long time ago.
You arrived at the apartment complex not long after leaving, heading up to the top floor, going to the door at the end of the hallway and letting yourself in. Loki peeked up from the book he was reading and smiled. “There you are, had me worried.” He joked. You sighed as you kicked your shoes off, dumping your bag on the floor and hanging up your coat. Your lack of an immediate response was weird for Loki, and he placed the book down, standing from the settee, and stepping closer to you. “What happened?” He asked softly, locking his hands behind himself. You turned to look at him finally.
“Is it that obvious?” You asked, and he smiled sadly. “...Pepper knows. She’s covering for me, so I guess she’s okay with it, it’s just… what if Tony finds out and massively blows everything out of proportion?” You explained to him.
“Well…” Loki crossed his arms, thinking. “Knowing you, your first thought is to run and start afresh.” He pointed out, and you nodded. “Or… I could talk to Thor. You and Pepper and him talk to the others, explain everything, we lay everything out, and then we tell your father. No secrets and being honest might work more in our favor than just upping and leaving, Y/N.” He pointed out. You squinted at him with suspicion.
“Aren’t you supposed to be the God of Mischief and Lies?” You asked, making him crack a smile.
“I may be, but it means I also know when’s a good time to actually tell the truth, and I think this might be the time. Pepper knows, she has your back, Thor is, as you describe it, a loyal labrador and will be happy I’m behaving, those two alone can be the brains and the brawl to help keep the situation under control.” He reassured you.
“Okay, if you think so… but can we do that tomorrow? I want to learn that spell so I can finally read your Asguardian books.” You begged, making him chuckle.
“Of course we can, go make some tea, then we’ll start.”
Hope you like it! If you have any questions, please send them in!

Kinktober ⛓️ Day 5
Tumblr media
Word Count: 3.5K Paring:  Loki Laufeyson x Fem!Reader Prompt @kinktober2023: Collaring WARNINGS: SMUT 18+ (minors DNI),  oral sex (female receiving), vaginal fingering, p-in-v sex, first time, mentioned cheating, referenced death
Summary: There weren't many things that Loki could call his. Most of what he had had been a consolation prize or simply a result of Odin's manipulation. Except (Y/N). She belonged only to him.
A/N: I know I didn't post day 4 but that's because I haven't finished it and I'm having a lot of trouble finishing it. I also know I posted this one after day 5 (at least where I'm at) but it's posted, and I said there were days I'd be late. Anywho, enjoy! 😈😈

There weren’t many things Loki could say that were just his. His parents weren’t his, the kingdom wasn’t his, not even his childhood had been his. Everything he had came from the manipulation of Odin or a discard from Thor. Even his precious powers had been practiced in an attempt to level the playing field with his brother in a battle that was never his to win.
Except (Y/N).
The Vanaheim princess had resided in the Royal Palace of Valaskjalf from a very young age. Her betrothal to the blond prince an agreement that had been decided before they had been born. Internal royal affairs were not the business of the children, and the decisions were taken without their consent. But being princes and princesses, they knew there were things they had no say in. It was for the good of their kingdoms, and that was that.
But no one had expected that the girl’s heart would align with the heart of the adopted Jotunheim prince. Regardless of her inevitable marriage to his brother, (Y/N) couldn’t help her inclination toward the raven-haired Frost Giant. His mischievous nature and sly tongue won her over swiftly, first as friends and, as they grew, as something a bit more.
Yet, neither of them could act upon their feelings. Not while her marriage to Thor was in effect. All they could do was long for each other through lingering stares and hushed conversations. And for the longest time, that’s what they believed the rest of their lives would be like. Her love was something else that would never be Loki’s.
The morning of Thor’s coronation had been the announcement of their wedding. Although everyone in the land already knew of the betrothal, the royal declaration of the union cemented a marriage that would never be broken. Not that Loki would ever allow that to happen.
The man had made sure that Thor could not be crowned, and he could not be there to marry (Y/N). By forcing his brother to restart a war with Jotunheim, he could get him exiled and break his engagement with her. What he had not expected was Odin declaring that the betrothal still stood even after his son’s exile. That once Thor was worthy to lead Asgard, then he could come back, and he would get married to (Y/N).
The girl was sent back home to reside in Vanheim until Thor returned. All communication between her and Loki was severed for years by order of Odin. Even when he was in Odinsleep and Loki was crowned, he had no way to speak with her. And it made anger and resentment fester inside him. Growing and overtaking him as the days passed.
For years, (Y/N) heard nothing of Loki –not that her parents would have ever allowed her to know anything of him. They had known of their daughter’s affinity for the mischievous prince and did not agree with their closeness. As Loki continued to dig his claws into Asagard and later on in Midgard, they vowed to protect their princess from falling into his control. And, at least that way, they could protect their daughter’s perception of the man she seemingly loved.
Until the Marauders attacked their home. In an effort to keep their daughter safe, (Y/N) was sent back to Asgard to be protected in Valaskjalf. And just like the rest of her life, all she could do was agree and follow orders. She left her home once more and was sent to be guarded by the Asgardian palace.
One thing both Vanheim and Asgard did consistently was shield (Y/N) from the real dangers that lurked. She had been protected all the way through the battle, unbeknownst to her that Loki was closer than she knew. Even her own fiancée was there. Still, she did not see or hear about either brother.
That was until an Einherjar guard arrived to announce there was a body found on the battlefield of Svartalfheim, and Odin thought it to be Loki. At that moment, with a softened heart and the knowledge that Thor had met another woman, the king decided to absolve (Y/N)’s engagement and allowed her to mourn the son he knew she truly loved.
Had (Y/N) not noted the playful glint she knew too well in the guard’s eyes, she would have broken down in the throne room that very moment. Instead, she thanked Odin for his kindness and refuge, and excused herself from his presence.
“So, the prince is truly dead?” (Y/N) asked the guard who had made the announcement right outside the throne room. “Loki is gone, and Thor is back at Midgard?”
“Yes, princess,” the guard responded after clearing his throat. “The prince is dead. Mortally wounded at the battlefield, protecting his brother. And the future king has gone back to Midgard to finish the battle with his companion Jane Foster.”
“Where you there, guard? You seem to know many details of what transpired.”
“I was, princess.”
“Then, did you lie to Odin, or are you lying to me?” she said accusingly, trapping him between the wall and her body. “Because inside the throne room, you said that you had been sent to survey the battlefield after the fact, not that you were there. So, I am asking you again. Who were you lying to?”
“I wasn’t lying, pet,” he said. “I was there, but I inspected the field afterward as well.”
“Funny you use that name,” she grinned, staring deeply into blue eyes that were far too familiar. “Because in my entire life, only Loki ever called me that. And I know I have never met you before in my life.”
The guard’s face was stricken with surprise one second and a knowing smile the next as his eyes softened upon her. “I’ve never been able to hide anything from you,” he chuckled, placing a finger under her chin. “You simply know me too well, pet.”
“Loki,” she breathed, a weight lifting from her shoulders. She placed a hand on the face that did not belong to him, imagining his own under. “Oh, darling, it’s been too long.”
“Too long indeed,” he smiled. “And for the first time, we are both free to do as we please.”
He leaned in, wanting to taste her lips and finally determine if it was everything he had ever imagined. But (Y/N) stopped him, placing a hand on his chest. “Not like this,” she said. “Not when you’re someone else.”
Loki could only grin and take (Y/N) by the hand, running toward the chambers that had been hers since she was a child. The room was fit for a future queen. A four-poster bed was adorned with white linens and vivid green vines laced with white flowers right in front of a massive fireplace that was already crackling fire. Her windows overlooked a small interior garden that younger versions of themselves would spend hours upon hours strolling even if they went nowhere.
“I want to see you, Loki,” she whispered when finally in the privacy of her bedroom. Right before her, and without another second to spare, the Einreghard guard transformed into the only man she had ever loved. His black hair had grown longer than the last time she had seen him, falling in soft messy curls that she had not seen in a long time. “There you are. It feels like an eternity has passed.”
“It’s been far longer than I ever thought would have passed,” he sighed sadly. “I don’t ever want to go a second without seeing your beautiful face ever again.”
“You never will,” she promised. “For as long as I live, I belong to you now. And no other king will ever tell me otherwise. Not my father and most certainly not yours.”
Loki remained quiet for a second, looking into her eyes for any sign of deceit. But once he found none, he felt relief taking over his body. “Do you mean that?” he asked. “Will you belong to me from now on?”
“Truly,” she answered. “And completely. I am yours.”
“You’re all mine,” he grinned. His hands cradled her cheeks before placing a passionate kiss upon her lips, melting into the touch they had both longed for. “I don’t think you can imagine how long I’ve wanted to do this, pet.”
“I have an idea,” (Y/N) chuckled. “But even if it took this long, I am grateful that you are here before me so I can tell you again and again that I am all yours. I just wish there was a way I could show you.”
Suddenly, the mischievous grin she had grown to love stretched across his face, tugging at his lips. “Well, darling, it’s funny you should say that,” he said as he outstretched his hands and something materialized on them. “I have a way that you could.”
“Is that…?”
“It is,” he sighed. “This is the collar and chains that kept me prisoner for a year. Captured in my own home, without any hope of escape. What I hold in my hands is a sign of the second worst time in my life.”
“Second worst?”
“The first was losing you, pet,” he confessed. “But you are here now, darling, and I am free. And I intended to replace those memories with new ones. Better ones. Starting tonight.”
“You want me to wear that,” she confirmed, though it should have been a question. “Put it on me.”
“You’re eager, pet,” Loki chuckled. “I haven’t even asked you to.”
“I know you, Loki,” she purred as she kneeled before him. “I know what you want from me, and I am giving it all to you.”
Loki took the golden collar and wrapped it around her neck, doing his best to bury the twitch that was trying to take him over as he remembered himself wearing it and what it represented. But he wanted to take control of those memories and create new ones. Memories that he could look back on and smile rather than shatter.
(Y/N) stared into his eyes as his hands worked to close the collar around her, all the love she felt for him radiating from the orbs. She wanted him to know that he would never go through life alone, never again. She was his, and she had meant it.
“Beautiful,” he smiled devilishly, pulling at the chain that hung from the collar and lifting her head to crash his lips onto her again. “And mine. Darling, you’re all mine.”
“For the rest of time, love.”
“Good, pet. We’re gonna have some fun tonight.” He pulled her up to her feet, twisting the chain in his hand to shorten the distance. And (Y/N) obediently obliged to his every tug. “Disrobe, darling. I want to see you.”
She unlaced the corset of her dress before sleeping the sleeves of her tunic from her shoulders and, with one move, allowed the fabric to pool at her feet. In the light of the moon, her body was exposed to Loki for the first time, in the very room they had once confessed they felt something for each other they could not word. Their journeys had finally come full circle.
“How are you this beautiful?” Loki growled. “And to think you would have been wasted on a brute like my brother.”
“I may have married him, but I wouldn’t have warmed his bed, darling.”
“You would have betrayed your king, pet?”
“I would have betrayed a prince and given him dark-haired babies while the real King ruled.”
“And who would have been King, then?”
“You, my King. The rightful heir of the throne.”
“You truly know what to say, pet,” he chuckled. “It’s almost like magic.”
“It is merely the truth.”
Loki kissed her once more, roughly and passionately, molding his tongue to hers, exploring every corner of her mouth like it belonged to him. Because it did. Every curve and line of her body belonged to him. She had told him so, and the collar around her neck confirmed it.
The kiss quickly turned feverish and hungry as hands explored each other, ones touching skin and the others undressing layers of clothes. The only thing either wanted was to stake their claim to each other’s body as quickly as possible. They had lost too much time already, and the was no way they could lose a second more.
“Get on the bed,” Loki instructed breathlessly. He removed his open coat and every layer after as he stared at her every move. She walked backward to the bed, the long chain dragging on the ground. It was a sight to behold, and he would make sure to commit it to memory. “You are ravishing, pet. I could stare at you all night.”
“You better do more than just stare, love,” she chuckled. “I’m all wet and needy, and your eyes won’t do much.”
“Such lewd things from the mouth of a future queen,” Loki teased. “I don’t believe Odin would have ever let you sit on the throne if he knew this was the way you spoke.”
“Well, it won’t be his decision that matters,” she grinned, beckoning him closer with just her eyes. “It will soon be yours, my King.”
“My queen,” he hummed. “My beautiful, beautiful queen.”
“Make me yours, Loki,” she purred. “Take me.”
“Patience, pet. I want this night to last.”
“We have forever to make it last,” she whined. “I want you now.”
“So needy,” he chuckled, towering over her body. He leveled himself with one arm, using the other to sink two fingers into her wetness. She gasped at the intrusion, gripping at the arms that had entered her. “So, so very needy, pet.”
“Oh, Loki,” she moaned. His fingers worked her slowly at first, exploring her walls for the first time and mapping the body that belonged to him. But he quickly learned what had her squirming under him, what made her sing like a canary in the morning. “Oh, darling, that feels so good.”
“You haven’t felt anything yet,” the man grinned.
Loki was calculated and precise in his every move. As his fingers pistoned inside her, his mouth savored her skin, traveling from her lips to her jaw, from her collarbones to her breast, making sure he found every spot that made her arch her back or moan out loud. He learned what made her skin flush and made her chest heave. He memorized every reaction and flutter of her insides. He would learn everything that made her melt and set fire to her body as much as he could.
His head traveled lower on her body still, joining his fingers at the heat between her legs, closing his mouth over the small bundle of nerves that had her yelling his name into the night. One of (Y/N)’s hands jumped forward, snaking into the locks of raven hair, gripping as he attacked her with mouth and hands.
“Darling, please,” she cried out. “I’m already close.”
“Good,” he chuckled against her, sending shivers across her body. “I want you to come, pet. Come all over my face.”
It didn’t take long for her to do just that, coming undone on his fingers and his mouth. (Y/N) was sure that even just the sight of him could’ve had her bursting that night. He had filled her fantasies for far too long. Having him there, in corporeal form, was fulfillment enough.
Licking his lips and donning a sly grin, Loki kissed her lips once more, allowing her to taste herself in his tongue. They moaned into each other’s mouth, succumbed with more pleasure than they knew what to do with
Using his lack of focus, (Y/N) changed their positions, rolling them until she was straddling his lap, her chain grazing the skin of his chest. One of her hands rested against his chest as the other grasped his cock, aligning it with her entrance. She let her wetness coat his skin, pumping his shaft… one… two… three times.
“Go on, pet,” he groaned, groping her hips tightly. “Make me yours as well.”
With another pump, (Y/N) sank down on his cock, taking in a deep breath as his length stretched her more than his fingers did. She threw her head back in pleasure, remaining stagnant as she allowed her body to get used to him. He made her feel full… well, that wasn’t the right word. No. He made her feel complete.
“Darling, I need you to move,” he groaned. “It can’t end like this.”
“Just a second,” she responded out of breath. “You’re too big, darling. I need a second.”
And a second was all it took before (Y/N) was moving up and down his cock, squeezing around his shaft as she searched for a shared finish. She braced herself with his chest, bouncing on his lap as she set the right pace. It wasn’t until a guttural moan left Loki’s mouth that she knew she had found it.
The rhythm was quick and relentless, filling the quiet night with the sounds of slapping skin, melodious moans, and the soft rattling of her hain. It was the sound of wanton need, a deep-rooted desire that had not been acted upon for years and years. It was a dream –a fantasy–neither had believed would have ever been fulfilled. Not the way their lives were headed.
But they had taken control of their lives now. Loki had fought for that right and had gifted it to her. She belonged to no one but him, and he did as well.
Loki met her hips in tandem, gripping her skin tightly with one hand to keep her steady. The other snaked around the golden chain, pulling her torso toward him and crashing her lips onto his. He swallowed every moan and coaxed out ever more as his tongue continued its exploration. If that had been his last night of life, he would’ve had every single one of his prayers answered.
“You’re so perfect, pet,” Loki moaned in a strangled voice. “You’re absolutely perfect.”
“And all yours,” she smiled, her lips red and swollen. “All yours, Loki.”
“Say it again.”
“I‘m all yours,” she moaned. “Today. Tomorrow. And for the rest of our lives, I belong to you, my King.”
At the name, Loki’s hips moved faster, pummeling into her at a speed that surprised both of them. He was hungry, and he knew exactly what he needed to satiate himself.
(Y/N) met his every move, snaking a hand between them to circle her clit, bringing her that much closer to her finish.
“You’re getting close, aren’t you, pet?”
“Yes, darling,” she breathed, her eyes pressing shut. “I’m right there already.”
“Then come, my love,” he whispered. “I am right behind you.”
With a gleeful shriek, (Y/N) pressed her clit hard and allowed herself to orgasm around him, her walls fluttering tightly around his cock. As she rode out her orgasm, with Loki’s pace still unrelenting, her new goal was to get him to burst. She wanted to feel him painting her insides with his release and mix it with her own. That would be the final part of their claim, they would belong to one another for eternity.
A couple of seconds later, that was what happened. With three slow and sharp thrusts, Loki burst inside her, filling her with everything he had kept to himself for years. He whispered how much he loved her, how he had yearned for her every day since he had known her. He expressed everything he had been forced to swallow down and pretend didn’t exist, all for the sake of the kingdoms. And, better yet, she said it all back.
At some point in the night, they had collapsed in her bed, limbs tangled in limbs and promises of love and eternity twisting in the air. And, in the morning, they had awoken in each other’s warm embrace, letting out a sigh of relief that the night before had been real and not another one of their painful dreams.
They each dressed after basking in the sun that streamed through the windows for hours, talking about nothing and everything. (Y/N) stood before her mirror, admiring the gold collar that drowned her neck and what it meant that she was still wearing it.
In her gazing, she did not notice Loki walking closer until he was pressed behind her, admiring the same accessory she had been. “I think this might be too big for you to carry around,” he chuckled softly. “But I can’t help but love the way it looks on you. This is what these things should be used for. Nothing else.”
“I don’t ever want to take it off, then.”
“Maybe there’s something I could do,” Loki smiled. With a quick move of his hands, the bulky and heavy collar transformed into a thin golden choker with an emerald green L in the center. “There. This way, everyone will know who you belong to.”
“I pity the man who doesn’t know that I belong to the King,” she grinned. “Now, let’s go get you your kingdom, your Highness.”
"I love the way you think, pet."

Loki Laufeyson x Fem Asgardian!Reader
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: ANGST, Mentions of Death and Grief, Abandonment Issues, Insecurities
PREFACE: Loki and Reader have always been frenemies of sorts, constantly teasing and getting on each other's nerves, but that all changed when Loki started growing distant.
A/N: Flashbacks in Italics!
Frigga doesn't die and Loki knew he was adopted since he was a child in this A/U!
My big scary baby :,(
Tumblr media
I've been with the Royal Family since I was merely a child. My father was one of King Odin's guards, so I'd spent nearly my whole life within the palace's walls, becoming one of Queen Frigga's handmaidens.
Thor and I got along great...it was his brother that was the issue. All I ever heard about the young prince was that he liked to cause trouble. For his family, the people of Asgard and the staff who worked to end, trying to clean up his messes.
I was more than certain it had to do with his Jotunn side, but, I withheld from making such remarks.
To say our friendship was complicated would be the understatement of the millennium. He was always so audacious, especially towards the staff, which did not exclude me.
A vivid memory I had growing up was one where Loki decided it would be a good idea to shapeshift into snake and 'surprise' me, as I was making a visit to Thor's chambers.
"Thor?", I called out into the room,
Peaking my head in.
"Your mother says it's supper time"
Being met with no response, I figured he was already on his way to the dining hall and just as I was turning to leave and head back to my quarters, I see a serpent hastily slithering towards me.
I let out a blood-curdling scream, jumping back against the door and landing inside of Thor's room.
"Help! Someone!", I yell,
"(Y/N)?", I hear Thor's voice,
I turn back and see him, looking down at me with concern laced in his eyes. A flash of green catches my attention and when I face the front of me once more, I was met with Loki struggling to breathe from laughing so hard.
"You should've seen your face!"
"That is not funny!", I scold,
As Thor helped me onto my feet.
"Oh, lighten up, it was a harmless joke"
"Harmless? My heart nearly gave out!"
He scoffs, before exiting the room.
Let's just say that wasn't the first nor the last of his practical jokes, so at some point, I've just grown accustomed to the mischief. You can only be poked at so many times, before you've grown immune to the constant teasing.
But despite everything and him being the snarky son of a bitch that he was...I still found myself falling for him.
I remember the night that it happened.
I was just nineteen, when my father died protecting Odin. It took place on one of his missions, when an ambush broke out and he was pierced through the heart by someone after the king.
I was sitting in my room, stitching up one of Thor's capes, when my best friend walked.
"(Y/N)", the fellow handmaiden called out into my room,
"Yes?"
That's when I noticed the worry in her eye.
"What is it?", I questioned,
Standing up from the bed.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm so sorry", her voice gives out,
"You're scaring me", I warned.
It took her a moment to get the words out, but when she did, I felt my stomach drop to my feet.
"It's your father...he's dead"
Nothing felt real in that moment. I was more than convinced that I was just simply having nightmare.
"What?"
"There was an ambush during one of King Odin's expeditions and he took a sword through the heart", she wept.
I shook my head in disbelief.
"No"
"(Y/N)-", she says,
Taking steps towards me.
"No, you're lying"
She attempts to hold me, as I was repeatedly trying to pull away.
"You're lying!"
"(Y/N), please", she sobbed,
"YOU'RE LYING!"
Finally, she was able to pull my defeated frame into her arms, trying her hardest to soothe me.
"You're lying", I cried against her shoulder,
"Papa"
That was all I could do in that moment. Repeatedly call out to him, knowing there would be no answer.
I was so devasted by his loss. I locked myself away for days, not being able to sleep or eat. Whenever someone would try to check in on me, they were simply met with my voice through the door telling them I was fine.
Thor, being my best friend, organized a private funeral to honor his last selfless act.
So, there I stood before his casket, with tears streaming down my face, as I wished it had been me who took that blade instead.
"He was a noble man, (Y/N)", Thor said,
Placing a careful hand on my shoulder.
"This isn't fair", I whispered,
"I know"
"Of all people, why him? He was good. He's only ever been good", I struggled against my tears.
No longer being able to hold my composure, I walk out of the room and collapse onto the floor, gathering the remainder of my strength to sit up against the wall, before burying my face in my knees.
I'd never felt so crushed. Like, the rug had been ripped away from beneath my feet, sending me crashing onto the cold hard ground face first.
A moment of quiet passes, when I hear the door's handle click open.
"Thor, please leave me alone", I pleaded,
"It's not Thor"
I look up and see Loki, standing before me.
"Sorry to disappoint"
I sigh.
"If you're here to pick on me, now isn't exactly the best time", my coarse voice warned,
As I turned away. Just as I thought he would take the hint and leave me be, he joins me on the floor.
"I'm not going to. Not on a day like this", he reassured,
Placing a hand atop mine.
"He truly was a good man"
I nod, still unable to look him in the face.
"Yeah. He really was", I agreed,
Tearing up once more.
"I am aware of the fact that we do not always see eye to eye, but...I'm here to listen. Whether it's you crying or spilling your heart out, I will be there. Believe it or not, I do care about you"
"You don't have to-"
"I do"
I look back at him, confused.
"You and your father have always been so good to my family, even if it meant putting yourselves in harm's way"
"So this is what this is? A pity talk?"
"What? No-"
"If you're doing this because you feel bad for me, then don't"
He sighs to himself, before continuing to speak.
"I am here because you've turned everyone away and try as you might, it won't work on me. I've known you long enough to know that isolating yourself will only make things worse for you in the end"
I was speechless. I'd never seen him so sincere or honest. It was almost chilling.
"I'm not going anywhere", he promised,
Intertwining our fingers. That was the first time I'd felt something other exasperation for the prince. I felt...safe. Like, for the first time in what felt like my entire life, I was finally being seen.
Too tired to argue, I lay my head against his shoulder, whilst closing my eyes.
Since that day, our relationship had mellowed out and we could actually communicate without biting the other's head off. I actually grew to enjoy his company more and more as the days went on, but with the enjoyment, came the worry.
I was falling for him and I knew it.
What worried me wasn't the act of actually falling, more so the certain rejection I would face, if my true feelings were to ever surface past the bounds of my mind.
Despite that, he and I would eventually become the best of friends. Sneaking out past curfew to drink till the sun came up, whilst he talked about the adventures he and Thor would go on.
"It's true!", he defended,
As I let out a loud cackle.
"Oh, you and your brother are something else", I reply,
After catching my breath.
"Well, what can I say? I'm quite fun"
"I'm sure"
I turn to face him and he was already staring at me, with a soft smile. I shoot him a confused look, taking a sip from my cup.
"What?"
"Nothing", he shakes his head.
I couldn't help but blush at his gaze.
Seemingly, out of the blue, Loki had begun distancing himself from me. He would no longer meet me at midnight or even make his usual sarcastic remarks at me.
"Loki, I had a question about this book I found-", I asked,
Walking up to him, when he cuts me off by slightly brushing past me.
"Ask Thor", he replied dismissively.
This would go on for the next following weeks. Him avoiding me and me endlessly wondering why. Yes, I was confused, but more than anything, I was hurt. After everything, he was back to being cold and unkind.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine"
"Loki-"
"I said I'm fine! Could you please leave? I don't have the patience for your vexing today!", he yells.
I hadn't seen him for days after that. All I could do was carry on with my duties and spend the nights crying till I was to exhausted to stay awake. Was it something I had done? Or said? What could have possibly happened to make him hate me? Too many questions left unanswered, till I could no longer bare the agony.
If this was meant to be the end of the line for us, I was going to get that closure. No matter the hurt that awaited me at the other side of it.
I searched up and down the entire palace looking for him, but to no avail. I eventually run into Thor, but he was more nervous than usual.
"Thor, have you seen your brother?"
"No", he said,
Avoiding my gaze whilst trying to walk past me, when I block his way.
"Thor"
"(Y/N), I must go"
"What? I just need-"
"I must", he interrupts,
Finally making contact with my eyes. That's when the realization sunk in.
"Loki", I mutter under my breath.
He sighs, shapeshifting back into his usual form and brushing past me.
Being much taller than me, I chased him down the halls, struggling to keep up with his long strides.
"Loki!", I yelled after him.
But alas, my call was ignored.
"Loki, I can't keep up with you!"
"Then leave"
"Loki!"
He finally stops in his tracks and hesitantly turns back to face me.
"What?"
"You've been avoiding me for weeks", I shrug,
"And?"
"And I deserve to know why"
He scoffs, rolling his eyes.
"You owe me that-"
"I owe you nothing"
His words cut deeper than he knew. Just as I was about to speak, he turns and walks away.
"I'm not done talking to you!"
"I am"
I could no longer hold back the sadness that turned into rage. I was at my limit and I wanted him to know that.
"You're a coward!"
He pauses for a moment.
"After everything, you're just gonna walk away? That's how you wanna end things?", I yell on the verge of tears.
I knew he could hear it in my voice. The pure disappointment and defeat intertwined with my words.
"Fuck you! Fuck you!", I repeated.
I see him take a deep breath, before continuing to walk.
"At least tell me why! What did I do to make you hate me?"
"I don't-", he says,
About to reach his chambers.
"Then why?!"
"Because I love you!", he finally admits.
In that exact moment, everything went quiet. It was as if the world had stopped spinning on its axis and the rest of humanity disappeared around us.
As I stood there, trying to process what I'd just heard, he began slowly making his way to me.
"That is why I've been so cold. See, despite you being a thorn in my side, I couldn't help myself from falling for you. You are beautiful, brave and smart"
I had no words. Did I hear him correctly or had I finally lost my mind?
"But what I admire most...is your heart", he said,
Gesturing to his own.
"I was a lost cause till you deemed me otherwise. You believed that I was worthy of redemption regardless of everything horrible thing I'd done. Not many did and yet that did not sway you. You found it within yourself to forgive me for all the years I'd mistreated you and I will never be able to repay you for that"
"Loki", I whisper,
"I was and still might be that monster parents tell their children about at night, which leaves me wondering how someone like me end up with a person such as yourself in my corner. I know I do not deserve you, (Y/N), but I can no longer hide my true feelings for you"
It was getting harder and harder to fight back the tears that were threatening to spill. To hear him speak so lowly of himself was utterly painful. He wasn't that monster anymore and I knew that to be true.
"Now...feel free to tell me how repulsed you are and how much you hate me, so that we may resume our regular banter, before I inevitably lose my mind over you again"
"Loki-"
"TELL ME!", he screamed,
Causing me to flinch back in shock.
"I can't do that", I said quietly,
He shakes his head, aggressively wiping a tear away.
"Because I don't hate you. I never have"
I take a few careful steps towards him, as he eyes me down.
"Yes, the things you've said to me in the past have gotten under my skin...but none of that matters anymore"
Gently cupping his face, before finally closing the gap between us. His lips were softer than I could've imagined.
It took a slight beat, but he eventually melted into my touch, as his hands held me by my waist. The kiss wasn't rushed or hasty, in fact, it was delicate and soft, like he was making up for the years he'd missed out on. Eventually, I pulled away, pouring my eyes deeply into his and pressing our foreheads together.
"I love you too", I reassured,
"You didn't give up on me...and I won’t give up on you"

Hello! I love your writings! Can I request about Innocent!Reader? I just read the new one and hooked with concept 😅😅
Aftermath of reader getting proposed, maybe there was a family meeting between the God that proposed to her and Humans fighters who basically adopts reader. Or if reader told the God to take her on dates first! I kind of curious how the arrogant ones like Poseidon, Loki and Indra is going to act or how the calm ones react. And Shiva already have 3 wives! Imagine the disaster!! Papa Adam about to throw some hands!
-(God) stood before a council of both gods and humans, Brunnhilde in the center, to keep the peace, Odin and Zeus for the gods, and for the humans, who had all but adopted you, Adam and Nikola.
-You were the only one who was absent, being consoled by Thrud and Jack, as you were crying comically that you didn’t want to get married to a man you didn’t know.
-Thrud was hugging you, trying to calm you down while Jack was sharpening a knife, listening in on the meeting, waiting to hear what was going to happen, as he knew Adam was going to fight for you.
Hades
-To be honest, he was feeling embarrassed to be in this situation, he didn’t know why he proposed so suddenly to you, the words just came out!
-Zeus was all for allowing this to happen, as you would become his cute sister-in-law, while Adam scowled, “I’m not letting my little Y/N get married to a man who couldn’t even beat her! Let alone you don’t know each other!”
-Zeus and Adam got into it, arguing while Hades was holding a palm to his face, exasperated before he lifted his hand, halting the arguing, “If I were to properly court Y/N, would you approve?”
-Zeus beamed brightly, “Yes!” and Adam scowled, “No!” Brunnhilde sighed and banged the gavel, “If Y/N allows it, then you may proceed with your request. If she refuses you will leave her alone. Is this agreeable for all parties?” some were annoyed but they agreed.
Poseidon
-Was scowling darkly, his arms folding, eyes glaring up at his brother, as he forced Poseidon into this meeting to keep the peace with your family.
-You had refused his proposal, telling him that he didn’t even take you out on dates and you didn’t know a thing about each other.
-He was annoyed that you didn’t see how perfect the two of you were for each other, you didn’t belong with anyone but him!
-Adam disagreed with him, “Nobody, especially a god, will force Y/N into a relationship, and if you try, I will not hesitate to-”
-Brunnhilde banged her gavel, silencing him, “That’s enough, no violence in the courtroom!”
-Zeus batted his eyes at Brunnhilde, “Aww~ don’t be so cold Brunnhilde~ I think they look cute together!” he was instantly shut up with a harsh glare from the valkyrie.
-Poseidon threw up his hands as they were quickly fighting again and he walked out to find you to ask you out on a date, to appease you, as he wanted you happy.
Beelzebub
-He just stood silently, watching the gods and humans argue back and forth.
-Zeus and Odin arguing that Beelzebub would take care of you and protect you, while Adam was arguing that you didn’t even know him!
-Nikola had to nod in agreement, as he had been the one to grab you from his ‘friend’ Beelzebub, when you both made it backstage, whisking you away where you broke down in comical tears, saying you didn’t want to get married to someone you didn’t even know, which Nikola in turn told Beelzebub what you had said.
-He was willing to court you, with the intention of marrying you, but when he was pulled into his pointless meeting, he just stood there.
-By the time the arguments ended, due to Brunnhilde telling everyone to shut up, Beelzebub was gone, seeking you out to inquire if you would allow him to court you.
Hercules
-It was a battle of the dads, Adam and Zeus yelling across the room at each other, sending out threats to one another.
-Zeus pointed at his son, “Look at my son! He’s strong, handsome, and loyal! He’s perfect for Y/N!”
-Adam retaliated, “Nobody is perfect for my Y/N as nobody is good enough for her!! That meat head didn’t even ask my permission!”
-Hercules raised his hand, “May I haver your permission to marry Y/N?”
-Adam instantly snapped back, “NO!”
-Hercules hung his head, a bit disheartened at Adam’s refusal, which started a second shouting match between him and Zeus.
-Jack knew that Hercules was genuine with his feelings towards you, but he kept that quiet, for now at least.
Thor
-Odin glared darkly at Adam, a dark aura surrounding him, “My son is one of the strongest gods in Valhalla! He’s a worthy husband of Y/N!”
-Adam bit back, his eyes narrowed harshly, “But she beat him easily! How strong can he be if my little Y/N can beat him? How is he going to protect her when he can’t even beat her in a fight!!”
-Zeus was eating popcorn, Loki sitting next to him, having snuck in, watching the drama.
-Thor was silent, not at all bothered by the arguing, he knows what he said, and he was going to stick by it, he wanted you to marry him.
-He did, however, also want the approval of your family, as he knows how much you love your adopted family.
-He was fine with courting you first, just as long as you would stay beside him.
Loki
-Was grinning up at Adam who was so red from anger he looked like he was ready to burst while Odin was face palming.
-When Brunnhilde asked Loki what his intentions were with you, after his proposal, he grinned, “I want to marry Y/N and put my baby in her!”
-Brunnhilde had her head in both of her hands before sighing deeply, “Loki, my ruling is, if you can outrun and not be killed by Adam, you can court Y/N. You get  a ten second head start, starting now. Ten-”
-Loki immediately ran out and Adam, not even waiting the full ten seconds charged after him, murder on his mind.
Shiva
-Adam scowled down at him, “You have three wives already! You don’t need a fourth!”
-Shiva had one set of arms folded across his chest, the other on his hips, “I have plenty of love to give! Y/N would fit right in and my other wives already like her!”
-Adam, being held back by Nikola, shouted, “How can you say the four of you like her when you know nothing about her?!”
-The council ended very badly, as Adam and Shiva got into a fist fight, fighting over you, and everyone in attendance had to pull them apart before throwing them both in separate holding cells to cool off, but they just yelled at each other from across the room for hours until Brunnhilde knocked them both out.
Rudra
-He wasn’t worried about this meeting, he knew what he said, and he was going to stick by it.
-You impressed him with your skills and strength, you were attractive, and he could see that you had a kind heart, you were perfect!
-Shiva and his wives even gave Rudra their blessings and congratulations, already approving of your relationship, which meant a lot to him.
-Adam was scowling down at him, “What makes you think you’re good enough for Y/N? You publicly proposed to her, and you made her cry! Why would I let her be with someone who made her cry!?”
-Rudra was quick to apologize, “That wasn’t my intent, making Y/N cry, but I meant what I said. I want to marry her! But, to make her happy, I will formally court her if that will appease you!”
-Odin nodded, impressed with his reasoning, as was Nikola, who seemed happy and Zeus was quick to agree as well, with Adam being the only hold out.
-Brunnhilde nodded and spoke, “You may approach her with the intention of courting her. However, you will not force her and if she refuses, you will respect her wishes.”
-Rudra gave his word and left, not seeing Brunnhilde slap a hand over Adam’s mouth when he tried to shout something else.
Indra
-Scowled darkly, holding an unlit cigarette between his lips, more of a way to ground him, as he was annoyed at being pulled into this stupid meeting by your family after he unintentionally made you cry with his proposal.
-Adam had an angry red aura around him, as Indra had kissed you in front of everyone before proposing to you, not only stealing your first kiss, but doing something so publicly, it’s no wonder why you cried!
-Indra did feel bad that you cried, throwing yourself into Thrud’s arms when you got backstage and he had to admit he was intimidated by the massive valkyrie, before he was grabbed by Brunnhilde and dragged to this meeting on orders from Zeus and Odin, as Adam had gone berserk and started to attack others to get to you and him.
-Brunnhilde was the one to speak, trying to remain impartial, “What are you intentions with Y/N, Indra?”
-He bounced the cigarette on his lips, a scowl on his face while his hands were on his fists, “I’m gonna marry her! She’s the only woman who has caught my eye! And she kicked my ass, that proves she’s perfect for me!”
-Brunnhilde held Adam back as he shouted down at Indra, for kissing you and making such a demand of you.
-Indra rolled his eyes, turning to leave to search for you. He was willing to court you, rather than just jumping into marriage, as he wanted you happy.

Did anyone ever think about if Thor and Loki had the typical sibling arguments as children?
Like, did Thor ever go “I’m the oldest one, so I get to do this”
Did something like this ever happen:
Child Thor: you know. You’re the only one with black hair in our family, so you’re adopted
Little Loki: no, I’m not!
Thor: yes, you are!
Tears start forming in Loki’s eyes and he angrily runs to the room where Frigga and Odin are, Thor running behind him.
Loki, with angry tears in his eyes: Mother, Father, am I adopted?
Odin and Frigga share a look and Frigga smiles her usual comforting smile and asks “What is the reason for this question?”
Loki: Thor said I must be adopted because I’m the only one with black hair
And Odin just starts sweating because this isn’t how he planned to tell Loki. (I think he wasn’t planning on telling him in the first place.)
So Odin just goes: do not listen to your brother’s words, Loki. Both of you are our sons.
Perfectly dodging the allegations without confirming or denying anything. Great job, Odin!
Thor: then why does he have black hair?
And he doesn’t get a clear answer because Odin just goes: why do you have blond hair?
So Thor just has to live with two questions in his mind until the truth is finally revealed several centuries later

MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
A loud knock sounded against the wooden door of your little office, before one of the secretaries appeared in the door frame. "Agent Y/L/N?" You looked up from your desk. "Yes, Connie?" The brown-haired woman with glasses gave you a small smile. "Sorry for the disturbance, but the prisoner is ready." You nodded. "Alright. I'm coming." Connie nodded in return as well, before she left the office once again. You took a deep breath and stood up, taking the files of the newly taken prisoner with you. Loki Laufeyson. God of Mischief and Prince of Asgard. Adoptive son of Odin Borson and his wife Frigga; brother to Thor Odinson - which was actually a good friend of yours, due to the fact, that he was a Avenger - just like you... Sometimes. He was royalty - and a war criminal. The God had tried to take over New York, just a week ago with an army, called the Chitauri. S.H.I.E.L.D, the Asgardian council (especially Odin) and some other important people had decided what was going to happen with him. What his punishment was going to be, and well... You were the chosen one to be the bearer of the bad news for the Asgardian prince.
Walking down one of the long hallways in the S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters, you felt how slight nervosity swirled around in the pit of your stomach. You had never met this man before in your life. Well, you would've met him during his attack, if you wouldn't have laid knocked out at home in bed after catching the flu... Sure, you could look after yourself and you had actually no reason to be nervous, but after hearing everything he had done, Loki seemed to be quite dangerous. The rain clattered against the big window panes on the 60th floor, as you pushed down the door handle to room number seven. With another deep breath, you stepped inside, past the two security guards. The first man you noticed, was the blonde God of Thunder, who gave you a bright smile, "Lady Y/N..." and a nod. "Hey, Thor." You greeted him back, smiling as well. Then you stepped closer, towards the table in the middle. That was when you saw the Asgardian prince for the first time in your life. He was standing behind his brother, arms crossed over his chest and an annoyed expression on his face. You expected Loki to be a lot - but certainly not an incredibly attractive man. One look at him - and suddenly you couldn't breathe. The first thing which immediately hit you like a truck, were his stunning oceanic blue eyes. They were looking straight at you - almost piercing you. Next thing was his face. Thin, but defined lips, paired with clean shaved porcelain skin, razor sharp cheekbones and a jawline to die for. Framed was his gorgeous face by long raven locks, which curled themselves in gentle waves over his shoulders. You couldn't help yourself, but to let your gaze travel lower. He wore a beautiful green tunic - clearly Asgardian, which left little to imagination how well-built his upper body must be underneath the snuggly fitting piece of clothing. The muscles in his arms bulged from having them crossed over his chest; long fingers wrapped around his biceps. Your eyes wandered further south, landing on the perfectly fitting green trousers. Tight trousers - and... Was that... leather? strong thighs peeked out from underneath the tunic, holding his body upright. Long legs led down to his leather boots clad feet. You blinked and swallowed hard, clearly needing a moment.
Normally, the smug and witty God of Mischief noticed immediately, when a woman was drawn in by his undeniable attractiveness. It happened often to him; and therefore that he had a feeling for the female gender, he could clearly tell when a woman was attracted to him. Not uncommonly sexually. But not today. Not this time. Not with Agent Y/N Y/L/N. Why? Because Loki was completely taken aback by your stunning beauty as well. It felt like he could suddenly think straight for the first time in weeks - months... Norns, he would have never ever imagined, that a partially S.H.I.E.L.D agent, partially Avenger was able to look that stunningly beautiful. Never ever had he seen such beauty before - and he had seen a lot. He could've marvelled you longer, no... He would've loved to marvel you longer, but then his oaf of a brother ruined the moment, caused the bubble to burst and brought the prince back down to earth - just like you.
"Shall we start?" You blinked quickly, redirecting your gaze onto Thor. "Of course, sure." You more or less stammered, before you cleared your throat and stepped over to the table, sitting down on the cushioned chair. "P-Please take a seat, Mr. Laufeyson." Usually, Loki would chide you now, for not calling him properly - prince, god, or even king, but he couldn't. His mouth was like sewn shut, voice stuck in his throat. The silver tongue literally had turned to lead. As if remote-controlled, he sat down on the chair, which was opposite you at the table. Thor remained to stand behind him. "I, uh, I think you know why you are here, Mr. Laufeyson?" Loki couldn't even bring himself to say a single word. He just stared at you. Thor frowned, confused to see his brother speak so little. What was wrong with him?
"Mr. Laufeyson?" You tried again, but the raven-haired god still just stared at you. You swallowed hard, unable to read his expression yet. What you thought was pure ignorance and defiance, was actually pure astonishment and overextension. After all, the god never found himself in a situation like that before. You took a deep breath and opened the file with slightly shaking hands. Better to get this over with, you thought - at least one part of your brain. The other was highly intrigued with the mysterious, dark prince sitting across you at that big table. "The state of New York, the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division - in short form S.H.I.E.L.D and the high council of Asgard hand down the following punishment for the Asgardian prince and God of Mischief, Loki Laufeyson." You started reading aloud from the paper laying in front of you. "You are not allowed to return to Asgard for an indefinite time - neither to other realms. You are bound to stay on the earth - Midgard. In addition, your punishment is to join the Avengers initiative, in order to make up for the destruction you caused and the lives you destroyed. For the first five months, you will stay under supervision. If there are no complications occurring within those five months, you are allowed to join the Avengers on missions." Your words managed to snap the God out of his trance like rigidity. That he was banished from Asgard was one thing, but that he had to join the Avengers was something entirely different. Loki blinked violently, now looking at you incredulously. "I am forced to join this bunch of clowns and would-be superheroes?" "Brother-" Thor immediately interjected, trying to cool Loki down, but you lifted your hand. "It's okay, Thor. Let's give him time to adjust." You didn't know where those kind words were coming from, but a part inside you could understand Loki. You may not know him 'privately', but you read his files. Abandoned by his biological father as a baby, left on a rock to die. Saved by the Allfather, only to grow up as the 'second best', living in the shadow of his older brother and being lied to his whole life. That man hadn't an easy past.
"This is ridiculous." His loud voice cut through the air. "Would you rather end up in the dungeons in Asgard, brother? Damned to never see the light of the day again?" Loki knew his brother was right, but his pride couldn't accept that. "Well, maybe it would've been for the best! Just lock me away in that rotten cell, so nobody has to worry about me anymore! All I ever was in my whole life was anyway nothing more than a burden for-" "Loki, please don't. I-" Thor said, shaking his head, as the two security guards stepped inside the room, cutting him off. They must've heard the noises. They pulled him rather roughly up from the chair, handcuffed him and gagged him, before they pulled Loki with them. You watched with wide eyes and opened mouth, unable to say or do something. You saw how they dragged him away - such a strong, majestic man suddenly so weak and small. Loki took a last look over his shoulder at you, before he vanished through the door. His eyes so troubled. "Agent Y/L/N, are you alright?" Nick Fury's voice suddenly urged to your ears, ripping you out of your thoughts. You snapped your head up to meet his eye, nodding. "Sure." It was exact in that moment, that you realised, that this man wasn't evil like everybody else stated. Maybe this man was just heavily misunderstood - and one thing was certain... You would get to the bottom of that.
Little did you now at that time, that you just met your soulmate. Your best friend. Your future husband and father of your children.

How Odin show more love to Thor than Loki
Several factors might suggest that Odin loves Thor more than Loki:
1. Public Favoritism: Odin often publicly praises Thor for his bravery, strength, and leadership qualities, while he rarely acknowledges Loki's accomplishments or strengths.
2. Parental Expectations: Odin consistently expects more from Thor, grooming him for kingship and emphasizing his role as the future ruler of Asgard, while he often expresses disappointment in Loki and criticizes his behavior.
3. Emotional Connection: Odin shares a closer emotional bond with Thor, frequently expressing pride in him and showing concern for his well-being, whereas his interactions with Loki are often characterized by disappointment, anger, or indifference.
4. Decision-Making: Odin tends to prioritize Thor's desires and opinions over Loki's, especially when it comes to matters of leadership and Asgardian affairs. Have anyone noticed that loki tends to keep quiet when odin and thor are talking, and when loki was speaking in Thor movie 1 , Thor told loki “know your place brother”.
5. Familial Dynamics: Odin's actions, such as including Thor in paintings (the fake ones in the throne room celling) or favoring Thor in critical situations, demonstrate a clear preference for his elder son. This favoritism is often evident in their interactions and the way Odin treats them differently. He doesn't give loki a second look in public.
Odin , If you are going to adopt a child; treat the child equally to your real child. If not, don't adopt the child at all. Well we can see how Thor’s life would have turned out in the What if series if loki was never adopted. Thor would be “the party prince” and frost giant prince loki looked 10,000 times much happier than asgardian prince loki.

another thing that's really uncomfortable about the comics backstory is that it's very often like. 1. loki was adopted as a ~10 year old, not a baby, and therefore 2. his heritage was never even remotely a secret. and in this circumstance i feel like thor being abusive (esp from the start) is... so much worse?
like, in the mcu with its secrecy and early adoption, you can say that if thor mistreats loki, it's at least partly because he's semi-consciously picking up on their parents not treating loki as equal, but he doesn't know why, so it's just How Things Are (and always have been, literally as long as he can remember!). like, loki being abused is normalised at a fundamental level for thor. and if odin and frigga don't intervene, well, they've already proven their willingness to treat loki as inferior by lying to him his whole life. the mcu is definitely its own kind of horrifying, but it's a quiet and insidious kind, and you can see how the characters could be gradually led into worse and worse actions over time.
whereas in comics canon, where everything is out in the open from the start... thor mistreating loki just looks like straightforward, conscious prejudice. even if he claims otherwise, it's really hard to believe that space racism ISN'T a factor. sure, you just decided your adopted-brother-from-a-completely-dehumanised-enemy-species is your inferior for... no reason. convincing! and the parents not intervening is like... they don't even have anything to hide??? why would you even be hands-off about this unless you literally, consciously want it to happen? it's literally just like. "hey 'dad' you know the boy you told to treat me like a brother last week? well he isn't doing that. he's using me as a punchbag instead" "oh. how sad, my son." "are you going to tell him to stop???" "no."
like, when mcu thor calls loki his brother i believe him. i really do think that mcu thor truly and deeply sees loki as his brother, and himself and loki as fundamentally tied together (to a potentially unhealthy extent), etc etc. but sometimes when comics thor calls loki his brother it's like... okay, but you've never treated him like a brother. you have spent your whole life punishing him for being different at every opportunity. but now that you want to scold him, you're brothers? this is not love! this is an excuse!!!
like. i may not be being entirely fair to the comics here; there may be far better and more complex versions i haven't found yet. but just based on my experience so far... in the mcu, "they hurt you but they're your family" is this elaborate manipulative mind game where everyone involved really does love each but finds ways to justify the abuse anyway, so love and abuse are inseparable and often expressed by the exact same act, and this causes fundamental damage to the sons' concept of what love even is, whether love without abuse is *possible*, whether ceasing to love "family" is *possible*, etc etc... whereas in many of the comics, "they hurt you but they're your family" is like. those are literally the only two things they do. they hurt you, and then they SAY you're their family to stake ownership while doing absolutely nothing to prove their alleged love, not even the barest scraps of affection, ever. like come on??? i would cause the apocalypse over and over too!!!
(and as i said before - the situation being bad doesn't make the writing bad. but this continuous hand-wringing and pretending that thor's part in it is more complicated and more sympathetic than they ever actually show... does.)

Loki in the avengers wanted thor to hate him. So why is he shock in the dark world when thor hates him like he wanted
okay, I'm really glad you asked this because I have wanted to talk about this for a while, and I think it's a massive misconception inside of the Thor fandom and the Loki fandom.
Loki wanting Thor to acknowledge they're not bio family ≠ loki wants thor to hate him.
I can't think of any lines in canon where Loki specifically tells Thor "I hate you" or says to anyone that Thor should hate him. Or tells anyone in canon that he does hate Thor.
The most Loki seems to believe is that Thor should acknowledge that they're not related by blood.
Canon lines Loki says regarding this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Loki does not want his family to hate him. That's not his goal. If it was his goal, he'd go about it in a much, much different way.
Loki does want them to acknowledge that he was lied to for his entire life and that not only is he not even their son/brother, he's not even the same species. It's very different things.
But because Thor and Odin will not address this with him, and Frigga is making him choose accepting Odin as his father or not accepting their family, Loki feels like they aren't seeing him. Again. This lack of acknowledgement about his person, about something that is in the very essence of his being, is something he finds deeply hurtful. It's why his argument with Frigga happens in the first place.
It's not that he doesn't consider her his mother. It's that Frigga makes him choose. There is no gray area for them. No "yes, i'm not your mother by birth, but you are my son by choice" or any sort of reassurance. Just "either you accept that he's your dad or you don't"
Thor, at least, doesn't make Loki choose. He and Loki just...don't talk about it, when they clearly should. I think it would have vastly improved their relationship if they HAD discussed it.
Loki and Thor skirt AROUND the topic in Ragnarok, but they never actually discuss it in any of their time together:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i feel like a lot of Loki's problems with Thor don't stem out of a lack of love. they stem from a lack of communication. this line in ragnarok, i actually found to be a really good summary of their relationship from loki's pov post-avengers:
Tumblr media
Thor, on the other hand, seems to view Loki's desire to make them acknowledge his adoption post Thor 1 as Loki's desire to separate himself from the family and that he hates them now, because, well...why wouldn't he in Thor's mind?
Thor participated in the lie, even if unwillingly. His mother and father lied to Loki their entire lives, so of COURSE it makes sense Loki would hate him, so Thor tries to numb down to avoid thinking about it, hence the massive depression arc in TDW.
Loki has also, you know, tried to commit genocide and conquer a planet, which is VASTLY out of character for him pre thor 1, so Thor must wonder if he actually knew Loki at all or if their relationship was a facade the entire time. He feels like he never Knew Loki. Jotunheim Thor can understand, maybe. Maybe he can get where Loki was coming from, the understanding of how badly he was spiraling, the political moves Loki was trying to make, he can make sense of that.
But Earth?
Earth has done nothing to Loki.
Thor doesn't understand why Loki wants to hurt innocents. The brother that he knew defended them. Loki is the only reason the Warriors made it off of Jotunheim. Thor trusts Loki to keep people safe, and for the first time in their lives, Loki wasn't.
Hence this line in TDW:
"I don't. Mother did. You should know that when we fought each other in the past, I did so with a glimmer of hope that my brother was still in there somewhere. That hope no longer exists to protect you. You betray me and I will kill you"
That glimmer of hope was destroyed when Loki turned down Thor's offer in Avengers 1 to stop the attack. Thor tried to reach out to Loki in the Avengers, but after Loki stabbed him, something in Thor broke.
You can see it in his expression.
It's part of the reason that the "oh, Loki stabs Thor all the time lol!" joke doesn't land with me and I kind of ignore it as canon.
Tumblr media
LIke just LOOK at them okay? Thor drops Mjolnir in shock. He grabs Loki's arm for support. Loki has to shove him away before Thor lets go. You can SEE the shock in his face as he looks down.
Loki hurt him.
And he meant it.
So yeah, I do 100% get why Thor would threaten to kill Loki in TDW, because he feels he has to do it in self defense. Not that I think Thor could go through with it. They're empty words and Thor and Loki know that. The idea probably sounded a lot better in Thor's head before he saw Loki again and realized oh crap I have missed you and I love you and I'm sorry too.
Loki's adoption being withheld hurt Thor too. Their parents lied to Thor too. Thor tries desperately to separate the idea that his Loki (pre-thor 1) and THIS Loki in the TDW are the same person, but by the end of the movie, he knows.
TDW Loki is more battered, grown-up, hurt, darker, a mess. But it's still his Loki. That is why Thor doesn't feel the need to bring anything up in Ragnarok. He has made his peace with Loki's choices.
Loki...hasn't yet.
In the TDW world though, Thor has clearly been putting distance between himself and Loki, he didn't visit Loki at all in TDW, but he knew where Loki's cell was immediately, which makes me think that Thor has visited Loki, just not when Loki was awake. And you know what, unlike a majority of the Loki fandom, I'm not mad at him for that. I get it. Loki stabbed Thor with the intent to hurt in Avengers. It drew blood. Thor does have a right to be frustrated with Loki, just like Loki does with Thor. Their frustrations are not equal or the same, but they are valid.
But I do want to point this out:
Loki doesn't want Thor to hate him. And Thor doesn't hate him. Thor is severely depressed in the Dark World. Apathy is practically bleeding from his every movement in the movie. Having to face Loki would have meant having to face the family issues he didnt' want to face, but he never didn't love Loki, he just couldn't trust him.
Not being able to trust someone ≠ not loving them.
(which I also find ironic that Thor says that, and then immediately trusts Loki with the most important thing to him at that moment: Jane's life. Thor trusts Loki. Loki trusts Thor. They just won't admit that because they're both stubborn.)
Thor and Loki do love each other.
And I think that Loki is aware that Thor didn't lie to him, because the person he most consistently calls family is Thor from that point out. He doesn't reclaim Odin as family until IW, and he doesn't reclaim Frigga until IW either by association (not that i think he ever really unclaimed her, he was just trying to make a point), but Thor:
Thor, Loki never unclaims, and neither does Thor
For all their frustrations with each other, they still view each other as family. the hurt wasn't deep enough to undo that:
Tumblr media
does not deny this
Tumblr media
the FIRST thing Loki says to him after ALL that happened with Thanos and the invasion and the Void is thAT
Tumblr media
^ you do not mourn someone you don't love.
Thor calls Loki brother twice in that conversation and Loki doesn't say "i'm not your brother" the only person he corrects Thor on is Odin.
Because the ONLY person in canon Loki has EVER corrected about Thor not being his sibling was in Thor 1 to Thor and there were extenuating circumstances.
Tumblr media
^ defending his sibling even though LOKI IS NOT IN THE ROOM. Loki will not SEE or HEAR this.
Tumblr media
loki still does not deny this
TDW:
Loki: now you see me, brother
loki is calling Thor is brother again. He didn't deny it in the Avengers, but in the TDW he is actively acknowledging that they are family
Loki: This is so unlike you, brother. So clandestine. Are you sure you wouldn't rather just punch your way out?
Loki: Still, we could be less conspicuous. [Loki turns back into himself but turns Thor into Sif] Hm, brother. You look ravishing
Loki: They're on the ship! [as they approach the ship Volstagg starts attacking them; back in the ship] Well, whatever you're doing, brother, I suggest you do it faster.
Loki: You still don't trust me, brother?
Loki is practically falling over himself to claim Thor as his sibling. Part of this, I imagine, is due to the fact that he never got to call Frigga mother again, but I also do, sincerely, believe that Loki never cast Thor out of his heart.
By Ragnarok, both of them are referring to the other as their sibling, an indication that they have moved past their frustrations:
Tumblr media
Strange: ... Your adopted brother Loki is one of these beings.
THOR: He's a worthy inclusion.
^ does not deny they are siblings
THOR: I suppose I'll need my brother back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Grandmaster: YOUR brother. Whatever the story is. Adopted, or complicated. I'm sure there's a big history.
^ loki does not deny they are siblings
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
even Hela gets thrown into the "getting claimed as family" thing and they barely know her for the span of a few hours:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
anyway, tl;dr
loki and thor love each other and want each other as family, they're just too emotionally constipated to actually talk about that. They have never, and will never, actually hate each other because that was never actually in canon and it won't be. And for all my problems with ragnarok, I do like that they made Loki and Thor acknowledge that they care about each other in the subtext.
Thor and Loki only use each other's names when they're being serious. Brother is a term of endearment and they are both aware of that. Loki knows that in the TDW. That's why he's using it. That's why Thor doesn't. Because Thor is still processing and trying to figure out who Loki is to him. I could talk for hours about Thor's arc with his relationship with Loki.
Loki and Thor's love for each other is what made their estrangement so painful. but they were able to repair things in Ragnarok (to some extent). Loki sacrificed himself for Thor. Thor killed Thanos for Loki.
If Loki never loved Thor, Thanos never would have purposefully picked Thor out of the crowd of Asgardians to torture him for the Tesseract. Even Thanos knew how much these two idiots love each other.

Midgardians say "Children are like pancakes; you always mess up the first one."
I'm unfamiliar with pancakes, and I have no knowlege of servant's duties, but it sounds as though pancakes are both disposable and of minimal value. Therefore, I must agree with the assessment that children are indeed like pancakes.
One must consider that for a king, children require minimal effort to create. It takes but a single act to get a child upon a queen, or for that matter any woman. In the event a king is unable to do so, it is just as simple to slaughter a race, invade a sacred place of worship and kidnap save an infant doomed to die of exposure. A death which the infant or the infant's parents were surely the cause of, and which had nothing at all to do with the recent actions of the king.
🏰
Raising an only child has its benefits, though raising siblings together presents significant, distinct rewards.
When a king has but a single child, he can mold that offspring into a weapon of war. Together they shall lead campaigns throughout the Nine Realms, pillage and plunder every worthless little civilization, hoarding resource for themselves and leaving nothing but destruction in their wake.
All shall worship a king who has but one heir. All, unfortunately, but the heir.
I've learned over my many centuries that it's rather difficult to prevent an only child from becoming narsisistic. Particularly when the child is a princess of Asgard and the goddess of death.
We are all bound to make mistakes; it is how we right those wrongs that truly matters.
As stated previously, children are like pancakes. Having learned more about the lower lifeforms that inhabit Midgard, it seems the ideal method of addressing damaged pancakes is to have a servant throw them out.
By such reasoning, I ordered an elite force of warriors to imprison Hela so I never had to think about her again. She killed the entire batallion, and I must continuously siphon my power to maintain her imprisonment, but it's a small price to pay to keep her a secret and avoid awkward conversations, such as "what world will we ravage next?" and "why didn't you tell us we have a sister?"
🏰
I started anew; fresh, with a son. And though I told Hela I no longer wished to fight wars or commit genocide, old patterns oft maintain themselves. Jotunheim began an ice age on Midgard, and it was a perfect excuse to put the Frost Giants in their place.
What's more, I obtained a tiny baby icicle to take home as a little brother for Thor. My new eldest was very young, so we told him all babies come from Jotunheim. I don't believe we ever got around to correcting that story...
As is custom, Frigga and I had received the birth and anointing announcements for Laufey's son. Thus, having slaughtered the child's mother and left his father dying in ruins of what had been a grand castle but days before, I decided to keep the child's name.
This served two purposes: I didn't have to come up with another name, and when I needed a bargaining chip in the future, Laufey would recognize it as his child, despite Loki's Asgardian appearance.
🏰
When raising children together, one must always choose a favorite. For me, Thor was the obvious choice; he wasn't adopted or a monster.
A king must ensure not just his children, but all his subjects know which is the better child. Then courtiers might know one child is greater in every way; that despite brutish, stubborn incompetence, he deserves to inherit the throne, whatever the cost to the realm.
One may even do this subtly, by having the favorite child served first at dinner, always giving them better toys, or in the way they speak to their children.
Try these examples:
"Only one of you can ascend to the throne, but both of you were born to be kings." Simply growling when the lesser child tries to speak. Avoiding sleep until your adopted child has an exestential crisis, then choosing that very moment to take a nap. Remember, awkward conversations with children should be avoided at all costs. Putting a spell on a hammer in front of your adopted child, ensurring only people you consider worthy can pick it up. Your adopted child, by default, will never be worthy.
Each of these examples instills your favoritism, while simotaneously suggesting that you're simply parenting and governing, in a fair and reasonable manner.

relinquish the crown part 2: traditions old and new
Masterlist
Summary: Your father has summoned you to the war room to inform you of the traditions in determining the line of succession. And of your engagement
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Warnings (trust me you need these): themes of incest (he's adopted but still), arranged/forced marriage, mentions of death, language, Loki's definitely kinda dark in this one [let me know if i missed anything and i will update immediately]
Tumblr media
"Why so morose?" you jested with the palace guards currently escorting you to the war room.
"We are deeply and truly sorry, Lady Y/N," one of the guards, Skarde, addressed you.
"Listen, I am positive that whatever my father has to tell me, it's nothing as devastating as your faces make it seem to be," you laughed as they opened the doors, revealing to you the King and his sons. You immediately righted your stance and proceeded to bow. "Your Majesty."
"No need to be so formal, dear Y/N," Odin addressed you. "You are my favorite grandchild after all."
You chuckled as you stood up and took a warrior's stance. "I'm your only grandchild."
"Yes. Yes you are." His tone sounded almost regretful. As if he dreaded what words he would be saying next. "Y/N, I wished to delay your education on the tradition of our lineage and our methods of succession until so came a time that your father would be the one to relay the information, but I'm afraid I can only delay it for so long. And time has finally caught up with me."
"Grandfather." Your voice was laced with worry and panic now. "Are you ill?"
"No. No, my granddaughter. Nothing so morose as that." He seemed to struggle to find the words. "I simply wish to educate you before you learn of it from the words of others. They would be more…subjective, in their approach. Flourish the information with their opinions rather than simply speaking it with objectivity."
"Then tell me," you answered him simply. "I'd prefer my information untainted by gossip."
"Very well." Odin cleared his throat. "In the ancient days of our ancestry we had traditions in place that cemented its integrity. It showed the Nine Realms our dedication to keep our family strong, to ensure that the realms would be handed down to the most capable individuals alive. When I ascended the throne, I set aside this tradition in order to marry Frigga, your grandmother. Because I have broken this tradition, opinion of me throughout the realms has…faltered. They question my ability to rule with the tenacity of those who occupied the throne before me."
"Grandfather, I'm sure after a…an extended adjustment period," you caught yourself. It had been centuries since Odin ascended the throne. Eons. "I'm sure after some more time to acclimate to this new tradition, the people's faith in you will be restored to our family's former glory. You abolished an archaic practice in order to wed for love; any man, woman, and child in their correct faculties should understand that. To wed for love is everyone's dream."
"I know it's mine," Loki interjected.
You pointed a finger his way. "He gets it." You looked his way and saw him eyeing you with pride, to which you responded with a playful scrunch of your nose.
"Y/N, in order to have done so, I had to accept a new tradition proposed to me by my predecessor. My father. This tradition being that if I were to have more than one heir, determining who would succeed me would involve…permanent consequences."
"A duel," your father finished.
The air left your lungs. "A duel?" you spat out. You looked between your father and his brother. "You would have to kill one another?"
"Or one would have to yield."
"That is barbaric, Grandfather! What could have possibly been worse than this that it had to be abolished?"
"Y/N," your father began. "Before Odin's rule, our ancestry sought to keep its lineage…pure, as they would call it. That is how the faith of the people was ensured. That the realms would be ruled with the most reliable individuals alive, passed down from generation to generation. Our generations. Pure, meaning--"
"Now now, Brother," Loki stopped him. "Let Y/N come to the conclusions herself. Have faith in her knowledge of the worlds." He smiled at you and silently instructed you to do exactly that.
"Pure," you tested the word, as if you were trying to understand the word itself. "Untainted?" The men in the room nodded at you. You felt your heart sink the slightest bit. "Untainted…by others?" More nods. "Untainted by other realms. By other lineages," you spat. "Am I getting warmer?"
"Yes, Granddaughter. This was once the tradition of our family. I was arranged to be betrothed to my father's sister's cousin before I  met your grandmother. Had I accepted, all our lives might have turned out quite differently."
"Grandfather, that's incest." You spat out the last word in derision.
"Now do you understand why this barbaric tradition was placed, Daughter?"
You nodded reluctantly. "But one of you would perish. At the hand of your brother." And then realization sunk in and you faced your father. "Is this why you and Mother chose to not have children after me?" Your heart dropped as he nodded with tearful eyes.
"So that you would never have to carry that burden, my dear child. I would never place that burden on your shoulders."
You held your tongue at the words entering your head. That your father would carry the burden of his brother's death. You knew he would win. Instead of voicing your thoughts, you composed yourself and resumed your warrior's stance. "Well I wish you both the best of luck." In the safety of your thoughts, you silently bid your uncle a permanent farewell.
"That's why we called you here, Y/N," your grandfather began  again. "Loki has relinquished his claim to the throne. Your father is now my sole heir, if certain terms are to be accepted." Your heart soared at this news. Mainly because this meant that you wouldn't have to watch your father live with the burden on his heart knowing that he had taken his brother's life, but also in part because you were quite fond of the trickster prince.
You'd met him much later on in your life; you were already fully grown. He hadn't even known who you were when your paths first crossed and you bested him in battle because you'd mistaken him for an intruder.
To lose him would be to lose a piece of your heart. You'd grieve him almost as much as your father would.
"What terms?" you prodded, the relief more than evident in your features.
Odin sighed deeply. "That we restore the archaic tradition. To fortify the people's respect in our lineage once more."
You felt your heart sink to the ground, along with a dreadful pit in your stomach. You saw your grandfather's somber eyes in a new light as you tried to remember all the unwed females in your family. "No," you whispered in disbelief. "You couldn't possibly mean--" Your eyes shot to your father, the sorrow so clear in them. "You would wed me--?"
You didn't need an answer. It was already clear. Summoning you to this room made it clear. They'd already accepted these terms. All to escape the bloodshed.
Your eyes turned something akin to hateful as you looked at your father again. "You signed my life away. You purloined from me the opportunity to wed for love. And you--" You turned to address Loki. "You squandered yours. Why?"
"No," he answered you. "I didn't." Your blood ran cold as he stood and made his way to you.
"No…" The look on his face took on a new meaning for you. It was love. Undoubtedly so. But it was an immoral love.
"Yes," he spoke softly. "I've loved you for as long as I've known you."
You felt hollow. "You've known who I was since the day we met."
"Yes, I remember, darling." You balked at his term of endearment for you. All those times he called you that or any other tender name were now shown in a harsh new light. A light you so desperately wished to snuff out. "You bested me and when I gazed upon your face I knew. I was meant to be yours. And you mine."
You recoiled as he cupped your face, overwhelmed at all the new information you had to process. His confession being the worst of it all. Every memory you had with him was now being tainted with the truth. With his true affections. With his lechery.
As more realizations came to light in your mind, you could feel the bile rising in your throat. "All those times you said you loved me…you did not mean it as family loved family. You--"
"I meant it as a man loves a woman."
You could feel a rage burning inside of you as you addressed your father and Odin again. "The people will look at this union and see it for what it is. Sinful. Shameful."
"This was tradition for generations upon generations. Ages before even I was born, Y/N," Odin answered you.
"There have been new generations since you rose to power! They were not exposed to this depravity! They will see this union as something so base, so morally corrupt. They will look at the offspring of this union and think them bastards. And give them enough time and I assure you that they will look at me and think me a whore." Even as the words left you, the rage remained, and your indignance fueled your next words. "What happens if I refuse?"
"What do you think happens, my love?" You wanted to scream at his words, at his brazenness to call you such in present company.
"If I refuse then the terms of your relinquishment are unmet," you whispered. "If I refuse the duel commences." The tears that welled in your eyes from moments ago rolled down your cheeks.
"It does," your father confirmed. "Daughter, I'm terribly--"
"You've given me an impossible choice," you fumed. "All of you." You struggled to keep your composure as the despair began to overtake you. "Either I lose a part of my family…or I lose my life. My future. Signed away to avoid the bloodshed of new tradition."
You were desperate for a moment of reprieve. For someone, anyone, to hold you and tell you that everything would turn out alright in the end. That you would emerge from this nightmare of a choice and you would be able to move forward with minimal damage. You'd take that comfort from anyone. Even the man who'd just bared his reprehensible affections towards you.
"Please don't view it so bleakly, darling,"
"Well how else do you suggest I see it?" you snapped, glaring daggers at Loki. Another harsh realization felt like white hot needles stabbing into your mind. "Is this why you insisted that I never call you Uncle?"
"In part," he admitted. "Try to see it less pessimistically, I implore you. You wouldn't lose your life. You wouldn't have nothing. You would have a husband who adores you, who loves you with his entire heart. Wouldn't you agree that you could do a lot worse than being wed to a man who loves you as I do?"
You refused to heed his words. Instead you tried to think as  your parents once taught you, trying to see this situation as a battlefield. To weigh the options and choose the path with the least collateral damage. The one whose consequences would ripple in the least devastating way manageable. And when you saw it that way, there truly was only one logical choice.
"I accept your terms." Your words were barely enough to be audible. You swallowed a sob as you faced Loki again. "I accept your surrender. Only because I love my father. And I do not wish to see him live out his days haunted by the memory of losing you by his own hand."
A smile broke out on his face as he reached for your hands. You fought the urge to pull them away in disgust. "I know it will take time but you will be able to find a way to love me, too."
"That's the tragedy of this all, I already loved you," you said somberly. "Just not in the depraved way that you do." You felt something in you chill at your next words. "But any affection I may have held towards you dies today." You faced your father again. "You get to keep your brother. At the cost of your daughter."
And then you threw the door open and marched back into your chambers as you cried what was left of your heart out.

Where Are All the Gods? - Thor x (Fem) Quill!Reader/ Loki x (Fem) Quill!Reader
Tumblr media
Word Count 1.7 K
Warnings: MCU styled standard pop culture references ( the reader is Star-Lord’s twin so...)
Summary: Loki has an excentric neigbor in the dungeons of the asgardian palace that quickly catches the attention of Thor during one of his visits. She seems to have a past that resonates with their own experiences and the god of mischief keeps himself skeptical about the veracity of her saids, but his adoptive brother is willing to listen her.
Notes: For the sake of this, let’s pretend Thor visited Loki at least once before the prision break that happened during the invasion of the dark elves.

The prince of Asgard was in the dungeons for an informal visit to his brother. Nothing obliged him to do it, he told himself many times that he was going to give up on him. However, actually putting that idea to practice wasn’t easy because he still cared for Loki despite stumbling with his hate over and over again. Thor only wanted to make him company for a while fearing that the extreme isolation would make him even more deranged and there weren’t many others willing to make the visits. No one else, only him and the queen had some amount of attachment to him.
It didn’t take long for him to regret coming, as soon as the sarcastical verbal aggressions started. The situation progressively escalated into one more of their classical fights.
“ You are pathetic, as much of a simplistic sentimentalist as the species you adore so much.” Loki was rambling his hate away. “ Can’t you see that you need of me more than I have ever needed you? You are here for yourself, Thor.”
The god of thunder wasn’t listening anymore. Not only was the reproach old, but a noise in the background was catching his attention. One that Loki got used to after many days hoping to learn how to ignore it. A mindless environmental inconvenience that didn’t justify the use of magic, but was enough to annoy him pretty frequently.
You were singing in the cell right in front of his, acting like you would have been ignoring the argument when in fact you have been pendant of every word because you were bored. Extremely bored, and Loki wasn’t a very chatty neighbor. Singing to yourself for hours was a coping mechanism to keep your sanity, but also an easy way to get attention whenever possible. Even if it would start with him yelling at you to shut up, he would have to talk with you. Annoying the two asgardians into paying attention to you seemed more fun than being passively exposed to their family drama.
“ That the walls were shaking, the Earth was quaking “ You sang as if you would be back  fooling around with Peter. “ My mind was aching and we were making it … “
Thor turned back following the direction of the sound and Loki was even more infuriated than usual when he realized you created a successful distraction midway into his venting.
“ Mind to give us a minute? I have been FORCED TO HEAR YOU for the ENTIRE DAY!!”
“ Your song… “ His adoptive brother inquired with unstoppable curiosity. “ I think I have heard it before.”
“  No way! The son of Odin is into AC/DC? Things are getting crazy!” You answered with excitement. “ … And you shook me all night long …”
You sang a little bit more into the short chorus and brought to him the needed realization.
“ STARK! That’s a song he likes,” He cheered the awakening of his musical memory.”  it was hard to decipher without the music. This is outstanding, Loki! I think your companion of imprisonment must be from Midgard.”
“ Curious detail, it must be part of the punishment. Her constant singing will drive me insane.”
It was your opportunity to properly engage in their conversation and you didn’t waste it.
“ Hey, god of thunder and rock and roll! I heard you protect people from Earth. Would your code of honor make you be my lawyer? Spending quality time with your maniac brother has been fun, but I really need a way out of this.”
“ Excuse me, but even as a prince of Asgard I can’t interfere with a verdict given by the Allfather.” Thor calmly informed you. “ I fail to understand how a human found such an unlucky fate.”
Loki bursted into laughter.
“ Wait until you hear it, she has broken all human measurements for stupidity. It’s humiliating to serve sentence close to someone like her.”
“ You underestimate everyone the same way you overestimate yourself.” The son of Odin recalled. “ Which was your crime, midgardian lady?”
“ Theft.” You simply explained. “ I tried to take a valuable piece from the asgardian treasure.”
Loki’s demeanor was intimating you to give a complete confession.
“ Tell him which of the many artifacts in the palace was the target of your greed.”
You hesitated, then replied.
“ Odin’s Gungnir, the only thing this place holds that’s almost as valuable as your untouchable Mjolnir. Nothing personal, I just wanted it for its worth. I’m not planning to use it to destroy a planet like this one did with an Infinity Stone.”
It wasn’t precisely what Thor expected to hear and it raised even more questions.
“ The objects you mention are beyond the reach of any mortal, it makes no sense. Not even hearing the name of my hammer angers me because I am aware you would have never accomplished such an impossible heist.”
“ Did you sincerely think you were going to steal the most heavily guarded weapon in Asgard and walk out harmless?” Loki followed, the airs of superiority in his tone quickly increasing. “ You were imprisoned by your own moronic recklessness. Why did you want it, in the first place? The palace is brimming with treasures that are easier to obtain, heading for the spear of Odin is like screaming to the guards to lock you in a cell for the rest of your life.”
“ The client I got only pays for unique shit, Loki! He is not interested in a golden statue from your banquet hall.”
Thor witnessed the altercation with amusement. Insulting people to entertain himself in endless arguments was the closest Loki was to making friends.
“ If you ask me, that feels to me more like desperation than foolishness. “ He added in your defense. “ Not so long ago I thought myself capable of successfully invading Jotunheim all on my own because desperation to prove myself made me commit a reckless mistake.”
You showed him a half smile that Loki noticed with annoyance.
“ Nobody asked you, Thor. You shouldn’t even be here. “
The blond ignored him and gave a few steps closer to your cell.
“ From one desperate fool to another.. May I ask for the motivation behind yours? ”
Thor was soft spoken and sweet, so you found no problem in opening up just a bit to him.
“ My brother, I did it for him. For both of us, we want to start over away from the asshole who raised us.”
“ You have be kidding me!” Loki interrupted with frustration. “ Are you going to believe her? She is clearly trying to manipulate you using what she has learned by listening to us against you.”
“ I’m not, I swear. This is all a great irony. “ You defended yourself right away. “ Your pity is useless, you can’t get me out, so why would I lie to you? I do have a brother I love, Peter is all I have. It’s always the two of us against the universe, no one else cares for us... Well, Kraglin does, but the point is that we don’t fit in where we are. I wanted to make that sale so we would have enough to make it alone without having to worry. The man who raised us made us thiefs, it’s the only life we know since he stole us from our home as children.”
“ Is that the addition you make meant to move my emotions?” Loki mocked you with cold skepticism. “ Now is when I’m supposed to empathize with the tragedy of those who suffered from my fate. Let me be the first one telling you that you fail as a liar as you have failed as a criminal, your tale is unrealistic. The stealing of midgardian children serves no useful purpose. “
“ Sneaky advantages ideal for stealing.” You corrected him. “ We were smaller than most alien kids and if you would have read The Hobbit, you would know that little people make excellent burglars. Instead of a company of thirteen dwarves at our doorstep asking us to join for an adventure, my brother and I got kidnapped by the forty thieves of Ali Baba.”
Neither of them understood what you were trying to exemplify, but their confusion was fun to see.
“ Fate mocking us because Pete and I have the kind of bond you two never had is out of my control. “ Was your honest conclusion. “ How about having a few counseling sessions to pass time? Thor can come once a week and I can help you solve your problems. I failed as a criminal, but I’m good at being a sister for my bro.”
It was a subtle invalidating point for Loki’s insults that you delivered flawlessly
“ I refuse, I don’t need advice from an inferior creature. “
“ Then why are you here? If humans are so inferior, why aren’t you ruling us? We are cellblock mates because you failed as a dictator, you are a loser doomed to hear me. “
Thor stifled a chuckle to avoid making things worse.
“ You are not the worst company that can be found in this prison. Loki doesn't appreciate it, but he should.”
You exaggerated a lovely expression receiving the neutral compliment.
“ Thank you, Thor! He doesn’t value me in the slightest. Would you keep coming to visit me? I can tell you many awesome things about Earth if you want.”
Loki rolled his eyes, avoiding looking at you.
“ Don’t waste your time, he already has a midgardian and she isn’t a constant source of annoyance like you are.”
To his brother’s disgust,Thor felt comfortable with you. Your ways reminded him a bit of Darcy, quite funny and nice to be around. He was also curious about your story, which you began to tell but didn’t finish.
“ It would be my pleasure.” He answered directly to you, ignoring the insidious side commentary. “ The eloquent and heartfelt way in which you speak of your brother is a comfort for my troubled mind and I would like to learn more about midgardian traditions to surprise my friends.”
The agreement was sealed sharing polite smiles, then Thor turned back to face Loki.
“ See you soon, try to be a nicer companion.”
As he was heading out he could still hear the usual bickering between prisoners restarting.
“ Where have all the good men gone and where are all the gods?” You were singing once more.“ Where’s the streetwise Hercules to fight the raisin odds?”
“ SHUT UP!!”
“ Don’t you like it? Too bad, it's from Peter’s favorite movie. Do you know how many times he made me watch it? I know it by heart so get ready.”

The death of the Allfather shattered the morale of all of Asgard, but no mourning was greater than that of the Sons of Odin. No, that title wasn’t limited to the children he had with his wife and the one he adopted from the eternal blizzard storms of Jotunheim. It also encompassed the ones who showed him unwavering loyalty throughout his lifetime. They formed one of the most dangerous mafia syndicates on Earth.
I even dared to say we were one of the most dangerous in the universe.
Odin’s death had been expected. He lived a long life of over 5,000 years, which was typical of an Asgardian demigod. Now it was time to lay him to rest, and the entire syndicate made the trip to Asgard in their finest funeral clothes for the ceremony that would send him off to Valhalla in a traditional boat funeral. Odin was so well-known in Asgard, seeing his funeral would’ve made an outsider think that he was its king. The people just loved him that much. He may not have been righteous in the typical sense, but most people didn’t know that. The Sons of Odin were the only ones who did, and he was already the best thing that ever happened to most of its members… Most of them.
Loki gave my hand a squeeze, which I quickly returned as I rested my head on his shoulder. He claimed he was never that close to his father, but just because someone treats you poorly doesn’t mean you stop loving them. I could see it in the way his eyes glistened with unshed tears as he received the news of Odin’s death over the phone. He still had love to spare for the man who treated him horribly as a child. He couldn’t help that. You don’t choose who you love. I was confident that he wouldn’t have chosen to love the father who constantly looked down on him–that was, when he looked at him at all–if he could.
His brother, Thor, always got the better end of the stick. He was the golden boy. The first to get an affirmative pat on the shoulder from his father when he did something he approved of. The perfect child. I assumed that was why he seemed to be taking Odin’s death the hardest. His mortal lover, Jane, rested a gentle hand on his shoulder as he hid his misty eyes behind his own.
Then, there was Odin’s oldest child, Hela. Those who thought Loki was the most intimidating of the Odinchildren had clearly never met her. I constituted that to the sheer power of female rage. Odin never liked her cutthroat tactics. To Hela, every wrongdoing was atoned for with blood, no matter how miniscule. Outwardly, he resented her, but inwardly, I had a strong feeling he feared her. Now, there she stood, her eyes unmoving from the distant boat, and her emotionless expression unchanging. I felt a shiver travel down my spine, but decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe not showing any emotion was her way of coping with her father’s death. Maybe…
Though I knew most of the mourning would obviously be done by Odin’s actual children, I couldn’t help but also feel bad for the rest of the syndicate. They always fought tooth and nail for Odin’s approval because he proved himself to be a boss worthy of that. They felt as if they owed him for saving them from their own lives. Odin ran the Sons of Odin efficiently and discreetly. He managed to earn the respect of everyone associated with him. The best of the syndicate dared to consider him like a father to them. He was their sage. Their strength. I had to admit that he was definitely a better mob boss than a father. How would our way of life change now that he was gone?
As the ceremonial boat continued on toward the ocean’s horizon, I wondered if anything was going to be the same again. I should have known better than to entertain that stupid idea.
────༺ ♰ ༻────
Two weeks after Odin’s funeral, a small group of us gathered in the Bifrost as Heimdall read from his last will and testament. Hela, Thor, Jane, Loki, and I stood in a half-circle as we listened intently to Heimdall list off who was left each of Odin’s possessions. As the list went on, we all grew restless. There was one thing we were all waiting for, and we were all eager to know who Odin left it to, even though we had a strong feeling we already knew who it was going to be.
“The last item in the will, of course, is the Sons of Odin.” Heimdall cleared his throat before continuing to read from the papers in his hands. “‘I, Odin Bohrson, leave the Sons of Odin in the jurisdiction of…’” We all held our breaths and leaned in as he took a momentary pause. “Hela Odindottir.”
A collective gasp resounded throughout the room. Hela? How could Odin have left the syndicate to her ? We were all so sure it was going to go to Thor. Hell, Odin practically despised Hela! Something’s wrong here…
“‘Furthermore’,” Heimdall continued reading. “‘Thor will act as the new underboss, retaining his position as boss of the Thunder District, and Loki will move up to the boss of the Death District, while Hela reserves the right to select and appoint her own consigliere.’”
“There has to be some sort of mistake!” Thor insisted. He was clearly taken aback, just like the rest of us.
“I can assure you, I’ve only read what was written.” Heimdall held the will out to him. “Feel free to read it for yourself, if you still don’t believe me.”
Thor snatched the paper and skimmed it, a look of absolute dread crossing his face as Jane peered over his shoulder, reaching out to grab his arm in a silent act of consolation. “Dear gods…”
Hela smirked and tossed her hair. “So it goes.” She clapped Thor on the shoulder that Jane wasn’t occupying. “It seems being a daddy’s boy all your life amounted to nothing, after all, brother.”
My stomach churned. Anyone with half a brain knew that there was always reason to be afraid when the goddess of death was satisfied. It was as jarring as a devout Christian seeing the smiling face of Satan himself.
It was only after the interaction between Thor and Hela that I noticed Loki was silently staring at his shoes the whole time. He didn’t express shock like the rest of us, nor did he even bother to speak up. A wave of sadness and concern crashed into me. Silence was extremely uncharacteristic of him. What’s going through your head? Why are you so quiet?
I awaited his mental reply, only to be met with silence. Damnit, Loki! Please don’t stonewall on me now…
“I suppose I’m not too late to give my condolences?” I practically whipped my head around to see Brunnhilde enter the Bifrost.
Everyone took a knee, lowering our gazes to the floor at the sight of her, except for Hela, who seemed as if she couldn’t care less about the entrance of Asgardian royalty. Brunnhilde’s presence always commanded power. Despite her short stature, she seemed to tower over everyone who spoke with her. I figured that was simply because anyone who spoke to her did so while bowing to her. She served time as a warrior in the army of Valkyries that served Asgard in times of war and struggle, so her place as king was well deserved, in my opinion and that of the majority of Asgard.
“Your majesty,” Heimdall greeted her. “I’ve just finished reading Odin’s last will and testament. The Odinchildren and their guests will be away soon.”
“Please. They’re hardly children anymore.” Her footsteps nearly sounded thunderous in the heavy silence that followed as she approached Thor. “I assume your father’s legacy lives on in you.”
“You assume incorrectly.” Thor spat, his brow furrowing as his eyes trained on the ground in front of her feet.
“His legacy lives in me.” Hela darkly chimed in, still standing. What a bitch! A scary bitch, but still a bitch…
I couldn’t see Brunnhilde’s face, but I could almost feel the mix of fear and disgust that radiated from its expression. I listened to her footsteps as they clicked against the floor once again, but they grew louder this time, only stopping when a pair of white boots entered my vision. My stomach did a somersault as I processed the fact that the king of Asgard stood merely inches from me.
“Look at me.” She softly commanded.
The gold shine of the Bifrost seemed to dance in the edges of her dark brown hair, giving her figure a golden aura. Her face conveyed no emotion, and she looked down at me as if I was the interesting subject of a passionate scientist. Everything about her was elegance and strength, and it never failed to make me feel just a little bit small. My throat quickly went dry.
“Lady Y/N,” She broke me from my thoughts. “You are Midgardian, correct?”
The weight on my chest made it hard to breathe, let alone speak, but I somehow managed the words. “Yes, your majesty.”
Suddenly, she cupped the side of my face in her hand. “Måtte gudene hjelpe folket i ditt rike.” A soft look crept into her eyes as her voice lowered to match its tenderness. “You and Jane must stay strong for the sake of your realm. Promise me that.” She turned to look at Jane. “Both of you.”
“I promise, your majesty!” Jane was quick to eagerly speak up.
I was just left in a silent stupor as Brunnhilde looked back down at me. “Well?”
My mouth seemed to move on its own, and a little bit of Norwegian I picked up from my time with Loki sprang to the tip of my tongue. “Jeg lover, min konge.”
Brunnhilde smiled warmly, and I was filled with the joy of a daughter who just made her mother proud. “I have faith in you.”
I couldn’t stop the wide grin from spreading across my face as the king turned and walked out of the Bifrost. Even as I saw Hela fold her arms out of the corner of my eye, the shiver down my spine barely registered as the hazy midday sunlight swallowed Brunnhilde’s silhouette.
────༺ ♰ ༻────
“I simply don’t understand it.” Loki sat at the kitchen table with his head in his hands, fuming. We’d returned to our penthouse in Midgard that night, and he was silent for the whole trip. I offered him my hand to hold as we soared through the magic tunnel Heimdall casted for us. He’d held it tightly without a word. This was the first time I heard his voice since the will reading on Asgard.
“Loki, dear,” My heels clicked against the tile as I strolled over to massage his shoulders. “You’ve been quiet for a while now. It was starting to worry me. Tell me what’s bothering you. Please?”
“It’s…” He let out a deep sigh. “It hasn’t exactly been a secret that my father never considered leaving the Sons of Odin to me. No matter what I did, it was just never enough for him. I was never enough for him. Today was no different. He’s taunting me from the gates of Valhalla, and there’s nothing worth saying or doing about it.”
“Then, to Hel with him!” I frowned. “You’re more than capable of leading the Sons of Odin. Part of him must’ve thought so if he left the Death District to you, right? That’s still a big deal! Maybe you just need to slowly work your way up.”
“That would merely be wishful thinking.” Loki’s shoulders sank under my touch.
I wrapped my arms around him, hugging him from behind, and kissed his cheek once he lifted his head. “You will rule our underground kingdom someday. I can almost taste it. Please, just hold out a little longer, my love. If I can see it, it’s only a matter of time before everyone else will.”
A devilish grin instantly broke across his face. “You never fail to flatter me, darling.”
“Oh, please,” I teased, “I can do more than that~”
Loki let out a soft sigh as I trailed my kisses down to his collar. “Oh, love…” His breathing grew labored as my hands trailed down the front of his suit jacket, slowly unbuttoning it. “My biggest temptress and my sweetest indulgence.” He shivered. “I could never resist you.”
“Then don’t.” I purred as I slid his jacket off his shoulders. “You have some stress keeping you all wound up. Let me help you ease it.” Holding his jacket in my hands, I began heading towards our shared bedroom to hang it up. “And allow me to run a bath for you, so I can rest your weary muscles.”
The last thing I heard before getting to the bedroom was Loki breathily moan, “Do hurry. I fear I don’t have much patience tonight…”
────༺ ♰ ༻────
The bath was ready. I was practically sweating by the time I’d finished the preparations. I’d dimmed the lights, lit some candles, and even thrown some rose petals in the water. Against Loki’s wishes, I’d taken my time. He needed this, and I wanted it to be perfect, which meant I couldn’t afford to rush. I dipped my hand in the water one last time, checking that the temperature was just right before opening the bathroom door.
“Loki, love,” I called out, “I’m ready for you- Ah!”
He practically pounced on me from just outside the door, wrapping me in his arms and pulling me into a deep kiss as he kicked the door shut behind him. He moaned as I let his tongue into my mouth, his hands sliding down my back until they caressed my ass, giving it a possessive squeeze. I tangled my hands in his hair, pulling him closer to me.
“That was too long.” He growled as we broke for air.
“I’m sorry, my love.” I cupped his face in my hands. “I wanted to make sure everything was perfect.”
“Darling, you spoil me.” He leaned forward until our foreheads were touching, our breaths intermingling between our mouths as he softly continued. “I meant to mention how impressed I was by your knowledge of Norwegian tongue earlier.”
“I learned from the best.” I softly giggled. “And that’s not all I’ve learned, either.”
“Oh, really?” Loki hummed. “Do enlighten me on how far your current knowledge extends.”
“Okay, hold on…” I thought for a moment before responding. “Jeg elsker deg.”
A proud grin spread across Loki’s face as he responded. “Jeg elsker deg også, kjære.”
I gave him a quick peck on the lips before beginning to undo his tie. “Let’s not let your bath get cold, now.”
I couldn’t tell whether Loki’s eyes were blown wide from lust or the low lighting as I began to undo his belt. “You do realize I could easily remove my clothing with my seidr, right?”
I playfully smirked up at him. “But that wouldn’t be as fun, would it?”
“Little minx.” He teased as I dropped his pants, revealing his half-hard cock. “I do hope that means you’ll be joining me tonight.” The idea of bathing with him had my inner walls clenching on air.
“How could I not?” Fighting the temptation to begin stroking him right there, I helped him out of his shirt and gathered his clothes in my arms. “I’ll make sure these are put away neatly. You get in and I can help you wash up when I’m done.”
“Must you make me wait again?” His eyes shone with a familiar softness that nearly made me weak in the knees.
“Patience is a virtue, my love.” I dusted off part of the fabric to keep myself from melting in his gaze. “I promise I’ll be quick this time.”
“Hurry back.” His request bordered on a plea as I slipped out of the bathroom.
I entered the bedroom and neatly put each article of clothing away so they wouldn’t wrinkle. I then stripped and did the same with my own clothes before slipping into a comfortable bathrobe and heading back to the bathroom.
I paused at the doorway to see Loki laying back in the soapy rosewater, his eyes shut as if he was asleep. He was an image of pure relaxation, yet the scene in front of me was reminiscent of my wildest dreams. The candlelight gave his porcelain skin a soft warm glow, making the shadows under his already sharp cheekbones more prominent. The ropes of his muscles pulled taught near his neck and shoulders. The dark tendrils of hair on his head were wetly slicked away from his face, spilling over the side of the tub in inky curls. He was beautiful, and the arousal pooling between my thighs clued me in to the fact that my body agreed.
“I know you’re there.” His voice rang out in a soft sing-songy tone. “I do hope you don’t intend to watch me all night.”
“Of course not.” I fully entered the room, only dropping my robe once Loki opened his eyes.
A small noise escaped the back of his throat. “Oh, darling. You look absolutely stunning.” His breathing grew heavier, but he still made no move to grab me or command me to get in. He was waiting for me to decide when I wanted to.
I slowly lowered myself into the water, and he allowed me to straddle his legs. “Does this mean you’re willing to give yourself to me tonight?”
“I wish to give myself to you, body and soul.” He caressed the side of my face. “Whatever you desire, you’ll have it.”
Loki was secure enough in our relationship to allow himself to submit to me at times. My heart swelled as I realized that this was one of those times. He wanted me in control, and was relying on me to grant him pleasure. That was why he tolerated my commands today. He didn’t want to think too much, or be in any form of control. He just wanted to feel.
“You’re too sweet, my love.” I leaned forward and pecked Loki on the lips again. Before I could pull away, he wrapped his arms around my hips and bucked up into mine, causing a sharp wave in the water. I let out a surprised yelp as he attempted to deepen our kiss.
My hand came up quickly, seizing his chin. My fingers curled up along his sharp jaw as I found my grip.
Pulling away from the kiss and catching my breath, I started in a cautionary tone. “Oh, pet. I didn’t give permission for that, now did I? It seems like we’re getting a little too eager...”
“I’m sorry, mistress.” He shuddered under my touch, his hands quickly leaving my hips. “I didn’t mean to be presumptuous.”
I released his face, instead moving my hand to tangle in his hair. “You’re lucky I’m in a good mood.” I began trailing kisses along his jaw. “And you’ve been so good up until now. I think I’m willing to overlook this little incident.”
Loki softly moaned as I continued my trail of kisses down his neck, his cock brushing my lower stomach as it twitched up. “Th- Thank you, mistress.”
“You’re very welcome, pet.” I purred. “Just lay back and let me ease your tension, okay? That’s all I need you to do tonight. Nothing difficult.”
“May I touch you?” When I didn’t immediately respond, he added. “Please, mistress? I wish to be able to feel you while you please me. I crave it.”
“How sweet.” I trailed my hands down his chest. “Even when I treat you, you still want to make sure I feel good. Is that right?” Loki nodded, and I raised an eyebrow. “Use your words.”
“Yes, mistress.” He breathed. “I crave your pleasure as well as mine.”
“You’re a dream come alive, my love.” I softly chuckled as I leaned in to peck the tip of his nose. “I will allow you to touch me, but only when directed. Fair?”
“Yes, mistress.” Loki sighed right before I pulled him into another kiss.
My hands continued to trail lower until they played at the base of his cock. His moans curled into needy whines as I dragged a finger along its length, teasing at the tip while it grew fully erect. My free hand slid back up his chest, tracing each dip, curve, and muscle in his marble-like skin. I looked back up to see sweat breaking across his brow. His gaze was unwavering from my hand, almost as if he was silently begging me to grant him release.
“My darling pet~” I cooed. “What did I ever do to deserve you?”
“Mistress…” Loki whimpered in response. “Please…”
I felt another clench between my thighs at the neediness in his tone. It was a neediness that only I ever got to see.
Loki often made sure to keep his guard up in the presence of anyone and everyone. Strangers, acquaintances, family… but not with me. Never with me. He felt safe enough to lower his shield after the battles of each day and allow himself to be vulnerable with me. This didn’t always come in the form of being submissive. It sometimes didn’t even involve sex at all. It was beautiful. It was intimate. It was authentic, and I craved to wrap the wounds of my beloved warrior each day, no matter what they were, because he felt in his heart of hearts that I could bring him comfort. I welcomed that level of trust with open arms.
“You’ve been so patient for me today.” I slowly wrapped my hand around the base of his cock. “I think I’ve kept you waiting long enough.” I began slowly stroking as I lined myself up over him. “What do we say?”
“Thank you, mistress.” Loki breathed before I slowly lowered myself down onto his cock, one hand guiding him inside as the other grabbed his shoulder for support. His eyes closed and his head dropped back against the edge of the tub. He let out a low drawn-out moan until I bottomed out.
“There we are…” I sighed. “How does that feel, my love?”
“S- so good…” Loki seemed to be slowly slipping into his own ecstasy. “May I have more, mistress? Please?”
“So polite, and you know I love it when you beg~” I cupped his face in my hands. “Since you asked so nicely, I believe you do deserve a little more. Just lay back and relax. I’ll take good care of you. I promise.”
I sat upright and began moving my hips, setting a slow and even pace as I began to ride him.
“Mmh- Mistress…” Loki moaned. “F- faen … So good… Oh, how I- Ah- I’ve needed this…” Every sound coming from him was like music to my ears. His moans alone could bring me to my peak in a matter of minutes.
“That’s it, pet.” I reached for his hand to interlock our fingers. “Just relax and let yourself feel.” Keeping my pace steady, and directing him into all the best spots, I softly praised him between moans. “Oh, yes… You feel so good inside me… That’s it… My beautiful pet…”
“M- Mmh… Mistress…” Loki’s eyes refocused on mine.
“Yes, my love?” I breathed.
“May I- Ah- touch you, now?” He pleaded.
“Yes, you may.” At my direction, he used his free hand–the other still being held in mine–to grab my breast.
As I shivered under the touch of him tweaking my nipple, he sat up, shifting my position the littlest bit, and buried his face in my neck, leaving kisses as he panted and moaned against my skin.
I reached my hand up to weave into his hair as he pulled the most lewd of sounds from my lips. “Wh- What do we say, pet?”
“Thank you, mistress…” Loki softly moaned against my neck, causing me to clench around him, which earned another cry from the god.
The subsequent twitching of his cock and desperate whines escaping his throat clued me in to the fact that he was nearing his peak before he could even form the words. “I’m getting close…”
“I know, my love.” My own panting was ragged as I chased my own climax. “Hold on just a little longer. We’ll cum together, okay?”
“Yes, mistress…” Loki’s grip on my breast tightened as he struggled to hold back his release.
“Ready?” I gave the hand I was holding an affectionate squeeze. “3… 2… 1!”
I clenched around his cock as it began to spill its seed inside of me. I squeezed my eyes shut and saw a flash of white as our cries reverberated off of the bathroom walls. I kept my hips moving the whole time, determined to help us both ride out our highs.
Once we both came down from our peaks, it registered to me how full I really felt. It was filthy in all the best ways. I almost didn’t want Loki to pull out. I wanted this feeling for as long as I could possibly have it.
“Darling,” I was still blissed-out when Loki moved his head from my shoulder. “You never fail to sate my cravings. Thank you.”
I quickly pecked him on the lips before responding. “There’s almost nothing I wouldn’t do for you, my love.”
“My loyal lover,” He lowly chuckled. “I suppose we should actually get cleaned up now.”
“Yeah, let’s do that.” I smiled warmly. “Come here. Let me help you wash up.”
After cleansing Loki with the finest soaps and lathers in our collection, which were imported directly from Asgard, he returned the favor, and we both went straight to bed after drying off. Resting my head on his chest, the last thing I remembered was Loki’s breath evening out before I began to fall asleep. He usually slept so peacefully when I was in his arms.

I thought I was the only one who can't get enough of them just being close brothers. Yes, let them share a bed and kiss on the forehead and do stuff that brothers do. So say... do you have fluff fics? I'm taking the easy way out by asking because you have sooo many fics. 👀 looking respectfully. I don't know where to find Thor and Loki fluff, and I've tried. I tried so hard! Found a good one where they say I love you, but it's just a vignette and it's not enough. 😢 There was another one on ao3 that I read ages ago but I can't find it again. I'm starved for the bros showing affection in whatever way. Help?
Five People Who Were Fazed By Loki Sitting on Thor's Lap by Catspook : 3k : Thor likes to have Loki sit on his lap, the Avengers think it is weird, and Loki likes to troll them
Conflict Resolution by TheOtherOdinson : 6k : After Odin's death in Norway, Thor and Loki were left alone to deal with their loss and anger. Just the two of them. With no interruptions.
Home by my_dear_man : 2k : When the closest thing to home is right in front of you, even if it's your adopted brother who tried to kill you and take over Earth.
Soft Touch by calicojackofficial : Tony catches Thor and Loki napping together on a public couch.
We Were Eight at the Time... by Writinthestars : 5k : He’d never attacked Thor before. Their quarrels were always preluded by some sort of argument so there was warning, and they both knew they wouldn’t hurt each other too terribly.
This is the first time I used a real weapon against him. There’s no returning from that. It’s too late. I could’ve killed Thor - he’ll never forgive me.
Loki’s eyes filled with tears. This wasn’t what he wanted.
OR: Loki stabs Thor when they're eight.
Five out of Five is an Ideal You Can't Have by GalaxyThreads : 13k : While on an assignment from their father, Loki gets cursed to lose his senses. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but they're days from help, and Thor is forced to slowly watch his brother lose himself. (gen, Pre-Thor 1)
Mornings are for Destroying Landscaping by SalParadiseLost : 3k : Loki and Thor decide to spar one morning.
Tony isn't amused, Peter is happy to be a witness, and the Avengers don't have any power.
Castles in the Air by cosmic_medusa : 182k : Loki's first act as King is to collect his banished brother to aid his regency, however brief. Thor discovers that the political landscape is far from what it seemed, and that the lies of Odin have resulted in the threat of both his sons' safety and sanity. Drama, angst, double-crosses, butchering of folklore and history, and the epic bromance of Asgard's Princes ensues.
Bargaining by proantagonist : 109k : Faced with an eternity without his brother, Loki strikes a bargain to change the past. Post TDW.
i couldn't change (though i wanted to); by unintentionallyangsty : Given the team's circumstances--travelling through the cosmos and headed for Midgard on a previously unplanned voyage--Loki taking up a newfound fondness for shapeshifting on a whim is hardly the weirdest thing that has happened to any single member of the Revengers in the past several months. In fact, it doesn't even make the top three.
(Alternatively, how Loki unintentionally ends up bonding with the Revengers on the Statesman as a number of different creatures))
That Sheds His Blood With Me by Kadorienne : 13k : "Because you are my brother," Thor told him.
(Politics and family on Asgard. A brotherly love story.)
Rotten At the Heart by Coneycat : 6k : in which Odin raised Loki as Thor's brother... and then used him to force Thor to prove his loyalty to Asgard.
Picking Up the Pieces by Thursdays_Angel : 7k : During the slow ride back to Earth Tony and Nebula come across the remains of the Statesman. Tony searches the faces for his friend and finds his brother instead. Thor loves his kid brother, the least Tony can do is bring him back for a proper burial.
And if that Mockingbird don't sing by dante_baby : 7k : If someone asked Loki how he imagines his last day of youth, he certainly wouldn't say being sick and completely alone in his own room. Luckily, Thor is always there for him.
Soft by enchantedlokii : 1k : Sicktember Day Five — Comfort Item
Insurgency by for_darkness_shows_the_stars : 50k : Despite his best efforts, Loki wins the Battle of New York.
The universe will never be the same again.
I'd follow you through hel (and fight off demons as well) by ThatOneAnnoyingFox : 1k : After a bad meeting with Odin, Thor watches the void.
It’s dishonourable, but if he did it with no-one to see, who cares where he’d go?
Portal To The Past by worstloki : 106k (ongoing) : Loki gets sent back in time a few centuries and since he's over trying to gain Odin's approval he's reliving life with his own happiness in mind. Naturally, everyone else has a problem with this.
OR: that one fic where odin keeps trying but is unable to get rid of teen loki
The Frog Incident by MoonGoddex : 6k : Loki turned him into a frog. And honestly, Thor hadn't thought twice about it at first. He'd been changed into a little golden retriever puppy one time as a commentary on his general demeanour, and into a donkey by way of insult via synonym. None of those transformations had resulted in people in black and orange bursting through glowing doors that hadn't been there before. Well, okay. There were a few steps between the transformation and his capture.
Throg, or The Time Loki Turned Thor Into A Frog by PhantomEngineer : 1k : The time when they were children when Loki turned Thor into a frog.
The Glorious Death by stainedglassflood : 1k : Loki dies without honour. Thor blames himself. (I will not fight you, brother.)
Just Close Your Eyes by ADreamer67 : 32k : Ragnarok has come to pass, the Asgardians have reached a deal with the leaders of Midgard for territory of their own, Loki is allowed to stay (provided he doesn’t leave said territory), and Thor is settled on the throne. So all in all, things are going well, if you ignore the recent massacre and planetary annihilation.
Well, except for the fact that Loki is working himself into the ground. And Thor is having none of it.
Cue a not entirely legal brotherly field trip where Thor will make Loki relax, or die trying. Responsibilities? Pssh, who cares about those? (Hint - Loki. Very much so)
(death must be lonely like I am) by GalaxyThreads : 17k (ongoing) : After the Battle of New York, S.H.I.E.L.D. claims Loki for punishment and consequently, also HYDRA. When the Avengers are assembled under the belief that Loki is escaping his cell, they rapidly realize what a mistake they've made leaving the younger Asgardian in their hands. (Gen, blind!Loki)
to your own blood, and empty spaces in the throat by vellaphoria : 13k : Silence suffocated the battlefield in the wake of Thanos’ ships.
It fell from the sky they had rent in their flight from Midgard’s surface, and it rose like mist from the forests they had left broken in their wake.
It settled in Thor’s lungs, collecting in the cracks of his armor like ash.
Cold Nostalgia by ADreamer67 : 30k : It's the last Winter Solstice before Thor is crowned. Thor wants to do something special. Inasmuch as a hunt in the middle of winter is special.
Loki just doesn't want to freeze to death.
Loki, Chronologically by eirtae : 180k (ongoing series) : Loki: Sex, Drugs, and Rock 'n' Roll Edition
OR: series of fics about Loki's life, and Thor's
proximity parasite by everylokitten : 3k : Thor eats something he shouldn't and gets a parasite that makes it painful for him to be away from his brother for even short periods of time. Eventually, there will be a safe way to remove all traces of it. Until then, the only thing that can quell his pain is Loki. Cuddles ensue.
What family is for by dante_baby : 8k : Thor got sick and Loki is definitely not having a good time.
Five times Tony was a dumbass and one time he was a REAL dumbass. by thebackwardsstep : 3k : Her hysteria exploded through the halls, her sides splitting, face perfectly beaming. The laughter would have been contagious if Tony wasn’t on the receiving end of it. “Yeah, sure. That’s his girlfriend.” Okay, so Tony wasn’t stupid: he could clearly identify the sarcasm in the Valkyrie’s tone, meaning she was blatantly lying. Tony wasn’t stupid, which was why he felt confident in concluding that the mystery-woman was obviously Thor’s wife.
The Woes of Survival by withthekeyisking : 5k : They won, didn't they? They're off to find a new home, Thor is in his rightful place as king, and he finally has his brother back at his side.
But Loki is acting a little differently; quieter, even when he's speaking. Isolated, even when he has the entire room's attention. Flinching from touches he would have allowed before, even with the customary rolling of his eyes.
And then Thor overhears an odd conversation between Brunnhilde and Loki...
Ichor in Violet by tirsynni : 15k : When Thor learns that Loki can travel to other realms without Heimdall seeing, of course he convinces Loki to take them both to Jotunheim to hunt Frost Giants. There an accident unravels centuries of lies and threatens to unravel Loki, too.
The first rule of Vonasnire was there were no questions asked. by thebackwardsstep: 6k : Pure, shameless fluff about Thor being such a good brother and guiding Loki through his feelings even despite how much they can hurt them both.
small and little and held by Lokincest : 1k : Thor wants to be the little spoon.
additionally, virtually anything by unintentionallyangsty, GalaxyThreads, xWitchAlchemistx (who does write Thor/Loki but the brodinsons is strong), ADreamer67, etc.
