Loki has killed Thor. It happened in front of the watching eyes of the Avengers and when they finally capture him he is neither denying the accusation nor showing any kind of remorse. It's all clear and cut if not for the fact that Tony knows it wasn't Loki. Because at the very time of Thor's death Loki had still been lying on the warm bed they had shared the night together in.

I think the one thing that I love the most about GoW (2018) and GoW: Ragnarok is the fact that the women of the world have the most power out of all of their male counterparts. And it isn't because they have higher power or any special abilities.

It is because they are women. And they are messy and angry and don't always have the best view of the world, themselves or others.

And that they are actually respected by the story itself.

Like, say what you will about how Faye had to die to kickstart Kratos' redemption arc, but I find it unbelievably badass that said dead woman played the long-game of the century, made herself a living legend in all of the 9 realms, knew fully that she was going to die young, but instead of wallowing in despair, she chose to smile and love her husband, son, her heritage and friends to the fullest despite it all.

Freya rallies armies, beats the shit out of her ex, regains her warrior spirit, reunites and rekindles her relationship with both her Valkyrie sisters, Kratos and Atreus and twin brother, heals from the death of her son and regains a new family.

Angrboda uses her companionship, trust and gentleness with Atreus to show him a glimpse at the life and skills of a giant, peace and comfort and overall domesticity that he had been lacking back home due to odin and fimbulwinter, as well as give him the skills needed for his journey into who Loki is.

The Valkyries are able to be well respected warriors who are fully proud to be fighting aside true commanders and fighters and not have to follow Odin's command.

Thrud becomes worthy to wield her fathers hammer, is respected by her mother and those around her for the first time.

Sif controls, rallies and persuades Thor, the meanest of the aesir to nearly kill Atreus and Kratos for revenge against the deaths of their sons, just by her words and love for him alone. SHe even tries to be a better mother to Thrud due to having lost Magni and Modi.

The Norns freely use their creepiness and vast knowledge of fate and time and wisdom to scare the shit out everyone they meet and because of that, people don't dare mess with them, not even fucking mansplain-manipulate-manslughter Odin.

The Lady beneath the water is so respected and worshiped that it's factually known that you don't talk to the lady, she talks to you.

A lot of GoW is about swinging axes and ripping apart enemies. But the most powerful characters don't do that. They use their emotions and smarts and intelligence rather than their fists.

the true character arc for God of War isnt about Kratos at all.

It's the fact that God of War went from a dudebro power-fantasy hack-n-slash game where the women were either relegated to sex minigames, sub-par emotional justification for *why* we are killing gods, and villainous roles---to actual 3-dimentional characters who are given proper respect, courtesy and value, who are integral to the story as a whole and are crucial to the long term consequences of the game.

I actually didn't even bother watching the second season of Loki because of the cheap marketing and inconsistent storytelling.

It just felt like the plot was lifted off somewhere it would have made sense, and a character with a similar ego was replaced with Loki and goes through an arc that might have made sense for a blank slate character, but not someone who already has a backstory.

Loki doesn't even feel like Loki after three episodes in S1. The whole point of having a show like that just seems to be about the TVA and Sylvie.

Also the whole genderfluid thing. They 'confirmed' it in the promo and had a line in the script that went completely against anything they just said.

I knew at once that the writers, directors and other parts of production were really just pulling it in different directions and it would probably sound like a jazz trumpeter and a metal guitarist trying to improvise after knowing each other for 15 minutes.

I've been meaning to watch it just so I can have educated opinions on all of it but it's just,, so hard to get into. I definitely agree the marketing was cheap, they did with the 80s McDonald's like they did DB Cooper!Loki and made it centric to the advertising because McDonalds was also getting something out of it which is kinda ass seeing as realistically Loki Laufeyson would burn 6 of them down before he ate in one 😭

I personally don't like either of the major ships in the show but the forced Sylki shit in season 1 really got to me. Like not only did she completely replace him as the main character in HIS show, she's also a variant of him who he wants to make out with and overall it just reads as lazy writing and it's extremely disappointing that Mike Waldron has been put in charge of Multiverse of Madness and The Kang Dynasty since, due to the popularity of the Loki TV show. I was talking to my boyfriend about this last night but it kinda reminds me of the complaints people had ab the last Indiana Jones movie but opposite? Like everyone complained his best friend's daughter was gonna replace him bc she's a Mary Sue and she rlly isnt, she's more reminiscent of Marion in Raiders of the Lost Ark she just doesn't wanna fuck him. But the difference is Indy is a character who's majorly blank for little boys to project themselves onto. Which is great!! It works for those kind of movies, but they're not character development centric like the individual mcu movies tend to be. Loki is characterized in a way that he's drowning in identity issues and family problems and he experiences growth in every installment whether it be positive or negative. It doesn't make sense to take the formula of an Indidna Jones movie where he meets up with a woman who's typically a love interest and has her own issues that are only slightly touched on because that's not the focus, and they go do the plot.

Sylvie is not an Indy Girl, they straight up are trying to replace Loki with Sylvie. And you can tell the character wasn't supposed to have as much importance as she does in the show bc the character was worked on more after the actress they chose was buddies with a producer ( and this is no hate to the actress I'm sure she's delightful everything I've seen her in in terms of interviews has been lovely ).

I also absolutely agree they should've just made a tva mini series to introduce the tva rather than bringing back a dead character who soon will not make much sense anyway because Tom Hiddleston is getting older (and also he deserves to branch out in his career).

The genderfluid thing was a cash grab and it sucks ass, they just want money for acknowledging things already canon in the comics, same with confirming him as bisexual.

My boyfriend is actually writing a fic on ao3 called Find Me that's rlly good if you want Loki content that isn't related to the show.

(YES this is shameless promotion sshhhhshshsh) but fr the loki TV show makes me more confident in my screenwriting bc t h a t got put on disney plus. I'm also working on a Loki show rewrite in my spare time!!

hello, here for your opinion on odysseus! have you read madeline miller’s “circe”? if so, what did you think of odysseus?

Ooooohhhhhhhh you're nudging at a pandoras box asking me my opinions of Madeline Miller 🙃

To answer while holding the full ranting instinct back on a leash (partially bc I legit don't have much time for much typing rn AND I know lots of people like MM and idk I generally don't enjoy making people feel like they shouldn't like a thing, but I also love being salty and this is my constant internal struggle):

With a lot of her characterizations I feel like M.M. either goes too hard making them sympathetic (Circe and Patrocles being the top contenders who come to mind) or she swings too hard the other way. Odysseus is like....fine? He's not outright terrible? But he does fall into her "they are either sympathetic (cougboringcough) beauties with maayybe a couple Tragic Flaws (that are barely flaws, goD why couldn't she just let Circe have full agency and purposely curse Scylla why can't maybe Penelope be as much of a scheming suspicious fucker as her husband GOD these "feminist retelling" authors are too cowardly to touch Medea-nonono the rant is leashed I'm staying on target!) or they are horrible awful people." But she's made so many comments that make me baffled about her academic background in classics (why would you say all the gods are sociopaths Madeline??? that is an actual ancient cultures religion you're trashing??? do you not get how gods are used narratively in stories is not the same as they're worshipped esp in a religion without strict canon??? You know how we all understand that Paradise Lost isnt Christian canon what the F-Not ranting not ranting I'm good!!) lmao. She seems to fall into the common take I see where modern Anglo morality is projected on the characters divorced of the time/culture/narrative they are set in, and then go "omg how did people think this was a hero?"

Anyway I just don't see how people can look at Odysseus being a scheming ratfuck compulsive liar (who is also a great warrior in violent times bc it...was a warrior society who told his story) and go "um he's terrible why would anyone like him as he is originally????" while MCU Loki was so popular they kept bringing him back from the dead to continue being A Scheming Little Bastard.

(EDIT: uh tldr is I read Circe. The entire experience was me going "oooo it's about to get good" and then realizing that Circe is just boring the whole time. Came out the other end with more feelings about how M.M. writes women than Odysseus, but her Odysseus is part of a trend of doing a lot of black and white morality shenanigans)

LOKI S2 FINALE GLORIOUS PURPOSE

Just spent over an hour crying over the Loki S2 Finale, and still havent recovered, but here I go anyway with my Reaction/ Review

*Loki S2 E6 Spoilers ahead*

Okay so... before watching the episode I wrote down a couple things that I did NOT want to happen/ but knowing myself, and my luck with my characters, figured that was exactly what would happen....

and turns out... I was correct....

Back in Infinty War I feared/ predicted that Loki was gonna die in the first 10 min in a stupid way where he wouldnt be able to show off his powers... and we all know how that turned out...

For this season finale, all I hoped was that Loki, for once wouldnt play the self sacrifical lamb, and find a way where he didnt have to lose Mobius and his new found friends, where he would be not alone...

So.... yeah.... about that....

Now to the Review/ Reaction:

God I was so scared

"Glorious Purpose"

The title alone had me tearing up.... we really came full circle back to S1 E1 and the fact that they started the recap with 2012 Loki too...

1 min 30 in and I'm already pausing, THE INTRO IS BACKWARDS, thar was so cool

So we all knew Loki would have to go back and try to safe everyone

BUT MARVEL DIDNT HAVE TO SHOW US TIMELY DYING OVER AND OVER AGAIN (and in so many angles too....)

Then Loki trying to learn everything OB knows to be prepared to help, but it would take time, makes sense

"CENTURIES LATER"

WHAT?! They really did that, good thing Loki has that long Life span...

The fact that all the characters realizes sth was off with Loki but MOBIUS is the one to stop and talks to him, and Loki telling him to trust him.... my heart

OH MY GOD ITS WORKING?! And Timely survived too? Did not expect that

I have never seen Loki this relieved/ happy but at the same time sad and exhausted before...

But of course its never that "easy"

No matter what, the infinite amount of branches will always detroy the loom, so the moment a timeline branched everything was doomed from he start... Ah yes Marvel and their existential dread...

Loki going back to before Sylvie killed He Who Remains, trying to convince her not to kill him.... and of course she says he has to kill her if he wants to stop her...

God Loki's Emotional Damage....

Of course Loki cant

HWR COULD HAVE STOPPED TIME THAT THE WHOLE TIME!??!! The fact that he figured Loki has gone through this whole scene before and still just watched

He knows about time slipping...

He paved he road

He planned this

Him and Loki had this conversations before

Its basically Loki vs HWR forever, and Loki knows he will always lose... but still wants to try... kudos to his determination

And of course Loki cant bring himself to trade lives... not Sylvie's, not his friends and not the multiverses...

Loki goes back to the first time he talked to Mobius...NOOOOO not the Throne talk, why does this feel like a final good bye talk.... I HATE IT

Though S1 E1 Mobius having a chat with S2 E6 Loki is such an interesting concept

He wants to find out how they chose who lives and dies... ("Who lives, who dies, who tells your story" huh? Sorry but I had to make that Hamilton reference XD)

"You're not gonna find comfort in the TVA" - Mobius to Loki

BUT HE DID, LOKI DID FIND COMFORT, IN YOU MOBIUS, Im gonna cry ... the TVA was the first place where Loki could just be himself and he found friends there too

Also Mobius might be the only comfort character who actually gives comfort (and isnt just an angsty mess who hasnt had a happy day ever)

Mobius telling the story of a hunter who couldnt kill a kid, which caused more death, loosing sight of the bigger picture

So he is talking about himself right? And of course Renslayer was the Partner

Mobius telling Loki they have to chose a burden and live with it... that it leaves scars.

Theres this sinking feeling again

And the scene SPGAHETTIFIES?! I SWEAR TO GOD MARVEL, NOT AGAIN, STOP GIVING US FANS PTSD THROUGH VISUAL EFFECTS

I dont know what to think of Loki & Sylvie's final talk.... Loki has an idea?

Ngl at first I had no idea if he was using his powers to manually destroy, change or preserve the branches.... or weave them together

Oh and to be clear I was crying during like the whole last 20 min of the episode because that was just too many emotions at once

Also can we talk about how freaking cool looking the shots of Loki with the new Helmet and the branches being his cape, were?!

The throne... Oh god the remains of HWR throne...

LOKI'S GLORIOUS PURPOSE WAS TAKING ON THE BURDEN OF THE THRONE HE NEVER WANTED

Poetic, Ironic and Heartbreaking, all at the same time

Like, is it extremely cool to see him use his powers to his full potential? Yes definitely.

Were the cinematics beautiful? Yes of course, it was gorgeous, tho the moment I realized he was making Yggdrasil, I started bawling my eyes out, because "You go Loki, show us what you can do"

But I also felt my heart break because Loki is now at the end if time, chose to have to watch over & protect the multiverse, all alone, forever.... (can he leave that place?)

Like this is the very same Loki, who just, 1 episode ago, admitted that he is terrified of being alone, who just wants to be with his friends. L1130 is a Loki who was actually happy and had friends, a place where he felt safe because he could be himself. And he gave EVERYTHING up to give EVERYONE ELSE a chance at life, a life he might not be able to take part in... he can watch, but we dont know if he can interact with them....

I literally talked about that in my reaction/ review from last episode. Sylvie & Loki are both selfish, which is ironically a very human trait (them being gods and all), but unlike Sylvie, Loki would actually give up everything to safe others, which is exactly what he did.

And I know Comic Loki, God of Stories, wrote himself out if the Narrative as well, out of the Story, to look behind the curtain, have a talk with the beings behind everything, but that Loki also had Verity, he had a friend outside of everything, he had someome to talk to, a friend. Verity is one of my fav characters and I would have loved to see her Comic Version too in the MCU, but I saw B-15's Name was revealed to be Verity Willis, so thats is cool Easter Egg :D

Back to Loki, I honestly cant tell which Loki has it the worst... I always thought the main Loki dying to Thanos had it the worst, but he sth akin to a life and he got the chance to mend his relationship with Thor before he died his heroes' death...

Now L1130, in the worst case, is damned to spent eternity alone, the very thing he is scared of, being without his friends, forced to watch from afar as they live life without him, when all he wanted was to be with them... that is unless he can just leave the place whenever he wants to (if the branches allow it I guess?) But if it turns out that he cant leave that place/ or interact with anyone, without everything going down immediately, then I would argue that this Loki's life is worse than the other's death... and I cant believe Im describing Infinity War Loki's Death as a mercy...

Back to the ep...

AFTER?! Right theres an after

The TVA is still intact, with a new leader ship and everyone working together, B-15, OB, Casey and even Ms Minutes is helping?

Mobius looks so sad doing his job though...

Hes gonna LEAVE?! He wants to experience his own life on the timeline, huh... Loki did promise that to Don... and M is going for it, thats sweet actually

Renslayer got sent to the end of time, Alioth waiting for her, well then

Mobius seeing what his life used to be is so sweet, likes how perfectly imperfect is it

Sylvie visits too?

"Its weird Loki's not around" she says and I start bawling my eyes out again, now thats just salting the wound.... at least they remember him

NOOOOO THE SHOT OF LOKI IN HIS THRONE

He is smiling, but he's crying too

Is there ANY Marvel Movie, or Show where Loki doesnt cry?!?! My freaking heart...

Look I know this ending makes rational sense.... and it was defintely epic, and we finally got Loki at his full potential, and yes, Loki being finally recongnized as one of the most powerful MCU characters is cool.

But personally, on an emotional level, that ending is somewhere between bittersweet and absolutely heart breakingly dreadful, because Loki didnt want this, he didnt want the throne, he only did this to save his friends, he gave up his own happiness and I hate it... I know he is happier knowing his friends have a chance at life and that he chose this, but there wasnt much of an choice with HWR....

I just hope that Loki learning to control time means he can at least visit his friend, pop in from time to time, because if him leaving the throne/ the branches means everything could come crashing down, then thats just sad...

And what does that mean for the teased Loki & Thor Reunion?! WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT?! We didnt even get an end credit scene?!

Anyways, I'm gonna rewatch the season the next couple days and go through some theories and head canons and see whether that will change my opinion on the ending, but we'll see.

Okay so I have had this idea for a while but I dont have the free time to write it myself and I love your works so I want to request some headcannons.

Imagine that the gods from all mythologies existed in the Obey Me! Universe.

How would the boys in the House of Lamentation react to an MC who has divine protection from a diety that isnt their father?

Like Loki - God of Mischief (Norse) or Anubis - Guide for the Dead (Egyptian) or even Hecate - Mother of witches, and goddess of magic and spells (Greek)????

So like everytime Mc is in trouble or needs help the diety will step in to assist or they show themselves and warns the brothers not to harm MC or mess with her in any negative way otherwise there will be consequences. Or MC has uncanny abilities because of her connection to said diety.

Im so obsessed with this idea. It has been consuming my soul.

MC (as usual) was causing mischief with anti-lucifer league

But, they were betrayed after Satan and Belphie left then stuck in Lucifers room

when they were caught, lucifer wouldn’t let them leave

and he is terrifying when he’s mad

even though you were abandoned you refused to eat out the brothers, though lucifer probably knew

you usually had the uncanny ability to get away with mischief but apparently not this time

he is sick of you not telling what you did, and turns to his demon form and goes to hit you (asshole)

then suddenly he notices a figure quickly appear and grab his wrist

just imagine marvel Loki because that’s what most people know

he holds him back apparently easily as he looks to you

he seems disappointed at you, after all he thinks if caught you should own up

so you sigh and do so

lucifer seems slightly less annoyed

then Loki tells him that ‘if you hurt them, you will have me to answer to’ with a snarl

Then he seems disappear, leaving you to explain that and how you seemingly are never caught but dubbed in it

he thinks your protection is incredible and is interested in learning more

Mammon

He was shocked when he saw a man with you and the rest of the anti-lucifer league

he storms in demanding answers

you explain that he helps you out with causing mischief, but especially aiding with tight situations

Which often happens after prancing Lucifer

he doesn’t exactly understand why he protects you, and is jealous of your close relationship

he is kind of scared of him too

Leviathan

He’s pissed after his ruri-Chan figure is missing

he blames mammon and constantly abuses him verbally over it

you did it, and sold it

originally because you didn’t really like mammon you didn’t own up

Then you feel bad and own up to it

levi is raging, but seems more forgiving with you

When he wasn’t talking to you, Loki talks you through patching it up because he’s g feeling bad for you and wants to help you

Satan

Satan thinks he’s awesome

they are kind of friends

Though their views do oppose on the subject of owning up

they sometimes argue over this

he thinks it’s cool how you have a pact of sorts with a deity

he will ask you about it often and it adds something new to learn about you

and bonus that it helps him and Belphie annoy Lucifer

asmo - not Loki because idk what i would do

Asmo is friends with deities who make you pretty and all that you are

he thanks them for protecting you

he can be a bitch when he doesn’t have your favour over them or if they are more attractive and you say that

Belphie

He is happy that you are protected, and that it helps you not get caught

but he doesn’t like owning up if it’s Lucifer

he just thinks it’s stupid with Lucifer and will push the blame and advocates that

he likes making schemes with you guys

he met Loki when he tried to kill you, and he saved you

The ropes, they carved into her skin with every move she made. The light, it made her eyes ache. The soft ‘drip, drip, drip’ of the leak in the corner pierced her ears. “Please!”. Voice horse, the taste of blood, the throbbing of her wounds…everything felt like it was on fire. “Please, let me go. I didn’t do anything wrong”. “Oh, pretty one. You did do something wrong. You fell in love with the King…and kings pay a substantial price for their queens”. The stench of coffee on his breath was enough to make her be sick, but she wouldn’t give him the satisfaction. “So, are you gonna tell me?”. Her hair was matted with blood and hung in front of her face like a curtain, but she could still see him. “Hmm? I’m not going to ask again, pretty one”. Her lips twisted into a snarl and with her last morsel of energy she spat. Blood landed on his face and before she could speak his ring clad hand connected with her cheek. A small whimper escaped her lips, but she wouldn’t scream. She’d been there for weeks, how many? She didn’t know, but it was long. “He’s coming for me. You’ll be dead before I step foot outside”. His laugh echoed off the damp walls of the room and his hand flew to her matted locks, yanking her to her feet. “Listen to me, you little bitch. I’m counting on Barnes coming for you, because when he does, I’ll be putting a bullet between his eyes, making you MY queen, and running New York. You hear me?”. A strained laugh found its way out of her ruined throat. “You underestimate him. He may be the King, but he was a soldier first, and above all that…is me”. His lips were on her in an instant, she kicked at him and tried with all her might to shove him off. It didn’t work. He tightened his grip on her hair and tossed her down on the cot. “You speak so highly of him, Y/N, but where is he? Where’s your King?”. Tears pooled in her eyes, her lip trembled, and her heart hammered against her chest. He had a point, where was he? Where was her James? His body caged hers in, a tiger looming over his captured prey. “Go on pretty girl…tell me”. Her lips curved up and she arched her body into him just slightly. He smirked, he finally got what he wanted. Or so he thought. “Fuck. You”. His hand smacked into her chest and pinned her down with bruising pressure. “Gladly”. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………… “That’s when everything went black. The next thing I know, I’m in Steve’s arms being carried to the SUV”. She was sat in her home, curled up beside Bucky. She was clean, in her own clothes and her open wounds had been tended to. A steaming mug was nestled in her hands and there was a plate of untouched food sitting on the coffee table. Across from them sat the men who were just underneath Bucky, the Princes of New York. Sam Wilson, Steve Rogers, Loki, and Thor Odinson. They served their queen; they were sworn to protect her, and they were all terrified Bucky would have their heads for what happened to her. No pain came. Just his pleads for help to kill every single man who was responsible for what happened to her. His promise to give each of them what they wanted the second he knew the bastard was dead, and they were going to deliver. She stood and paced around the room before looking at all five men in front of her. “Y/N?”. The voice she loved so much, the voice that brought her so much peace. It wasn’t a dream anymore, he was here, in front of her. “Boys?”. All but Bucky stood at her call. “Bring me his head”.

ok i just rewatched what if episode 3 and i had an idea. in that universe, loki has taken global control, all the avengers are dead, the chitauri invasion isnt happening, and hydra is probably rescheduling their coming out. so, what if (!) we get agents of shield mixed up in all of this. coulson is still alive, so he goes to recruit may, ward, and a couple others for a strike team, fitzsimmons get appointed the heads of scitech for shields undercover resistance, skye gets picked up trying to hack into asgardian transmissions on a mission and uses her rising tide contacts to help the resistance and galvanize the public, the inhumans get off their ass and join the fight, which brings skye and jiyaing together, and i should maybe actually write a fanfiction here because my head is about to explode with the possibilities.

Sorry Tom. But no. I trusted you once before. You said to wait til the season 1 of Loki to know if Loki is truly dead. Turned out that yes our Loki that died in IW is indeed dead & instaed we were given Larry the office guy who isnt even Loki from the 2012 Endgame flashback. I wont fall for it again.
