Courtney’s Crisis Writing Challenge

So yeah as I’m sure all of you are aware of by now I’m having a crisis

and I figured what better way to deal with an emotional crisis than to do a writing challenge and read all the wonderful thing’s y’all can write to distract myself from my ever-growing list of responsibilities

maybe i should change it to Courtney’s Procrastination and Existential Worry Writing Challenge instead

ANYWAY

This is a whole-ass mega writing challenge, going across ALL the people I’ve ever written for and all the people I lowkey want to write for/kinda have a current obsession/love for atm

I’ll give a full comprehensive list below the rules

But yeah this is going to have an English Literature theme bc I’m a nerd like that and have been reading too many books lately, again, to distract myself

So the prompts are split into three categories - “The Heartbreakingly Beautiful”, “The Hilariously Relateable” and “Fuck I’m Drowning In Fluff”

yeah the categories are just what went through my mind when I read the things these authors wrote

Thoughts on Vanya Hargreeves

This is going to be the last thing I say on the topic and if anyone ask my AGAIN why I don’t like her I’m gonna point you to this post. Okay. Okay.

I don’t like Vanya because of the things she did in the show. This has nothing to do with Ellen Page. I actually think Ellen did an amazing job playing Vanya and I love her as an actress. So don’t come at me saying I just hate Ellen Page, because I don’t hate her.

Now on to Vanya as a character. I will go as far as to say I HATE Vanya. She has a huge victim complex (which with here childhood i can understand why) but just because I understand why she has it does not mean I like it. She was treated horribly as a child (Just like all her other siblings), but being abused is not an excuse to be a murderer. They people that say “oh she was abused so that fact that her murdered 5 people isn’t her fault :(” sound just like serial killer fan girls. I don’t think abuse excuses her behavior, because many people who have been abused are amazing people (like some of her siblings). Some people try to blame her behavior on being emotionally stunted by the pills she took to repress her powers, but we don’t know for sure how the meds work yet, and even if they did cause her to become emotionally stunted that is not an excuse for murder. It isn’t.

Now I know this show isn’t all back and white. I get that and I think they showed that well with Five, but with Vanya and Luther they missed the mark by making them too unlikable in my opinion. When you want me to connect to a character who is making bad decisions they have to be likable. For example Loki from the first Avengers. He was a villain and killed Agent Coulson, but I came out of that movie loving Loki. They needed to find that balance and they didn’t quite reach it with Vanya and Luther.

Also I know she felt excluded from the family and that does suck when that happens, but I can’t blame the other kids for that, because they were being abused the same ways she was and they probably were just to caught up in there own trauma to even try to deal with anyone elses. They did not chose to exclude her, Reginald made them, and I can’t blame them for going along with it, because again they were all dealing with there own trauma’s. And I also don’t blame them for not trying to connect with them later, because she wrote the book outing all of there secrets without asking for permission and then acting like the victim again when they don’t like her anymore. I’d be pissed also.

This isn’t saying that I won’t like her later, but for now at the end of season one she is my least favorite kid and she did many things that pissed me off and her character wasn’t strong enough to make me like her. That’s all and I’m not going to change my mind until she tries to change. Hopefully she will in season two.

Edit: after season 2 she is one of my faves if the season.

TUA OC: Esther Fear; Power Description and Backstory

Esther was born in the beginning. The beginning of everything. She never tells anyone of her parents since she barely ever sees them. She came to earth when 43 babies were born. She manifested her main power when she arrived.

The Power of Fear: When Esther first came to Earth, she got a headache. All she could hear were voices. Not just whispers, but shouts. She figured out that it was the people around her. Their fears were there. You can’t hide your fears. She later summoned someone’s fear, a wolf. A vicious pure black wolf with red eyes, staring at the human fearing it. Esther called it off. She by incident made someone live through their fear, heights. Make them think they were on a skyscraper, a centimeter away from the edge. She waved it off.

Sir Reginald Hargreeves saw her and toke her in. Never adopting her. So she was just a helper to him. Not his kid. But more of a friend to everyone in the house. She got along with everyone. After a while, she started to hang out with Five more. She also was with Ben and Klaus a lot. She and Five started hang out way too much, to the point where you would see them together often. If one wasn’t with the other, something is wrong.

Other powers include:

Her Left Eye: Her Left eye is covered by an eyepatch. It is completely black. It actually is very powerful as it changes colors depending on what power she is using. Target Eye, one of her abilities, can lock onto multiple objects and make them what she wants them to do. Her other abilities will be said when I find out what I want them to be....

Power of Fire: Red is regular, Blue is very cold, Black is fine to touch but will give the target hallucinations.

Power of Shadows: She could summon shadow creatures. Shadows also acted as shields so when it was activated, as you can see above, it protected her from attacks. She also could travel through the dark or others shadows.

Another power appeared when she had a nightmare.

Power of Time: One of her brothers gave her this gift. The power to stop time and bend it to her will.

Her Family (Included with a Picture of them (As Anime Characters cause there is legit no one with such descriptions) and Esther’s Thoughts of them in gif form *^*):

Death (No kidding here): The Father of these 15 children. Actually very soft boy. Gets flustered when his wife jokes around. Ignores his daughter, thinking she is weak.

Life (Legit best ship of the centuries): Glaring at everyone. Has a snarky personality. Plus teasing for days. Adorable when talking to her ONLY DAUGHTER WITH 14 BOYS. Just imagine.

The two together since adorable ships. Also Life’s hair is really green but it’s blond when she is in the human world.

(Best OTP ever in my life. I live for my babies)

Esther: The Youngest Child of the family and only girl child. Powerful but more human than her brothers. Has Severe Depression and PTSD. Daddy Issues (Im listening to it) Her mood always changes. She can be happy one minute and yelling about something else another minute. She also has the tendency to want to kill people, wow calm yourself sister. Has Psychosis, I do too my dude. (She has a real picture since I need it for the other one about the actress)

Lucifer: Youngest Boy. He is adorable and pure child. He hangs out with Satan a ton since they have the same type of powers. He is Esther’s favorite and is praised the most by her. She loves cuddling with him before she had to go to Earth. He gets jealous if his sister likes someone more than him (It happens).

Jesus (vicuw): Very confused. He is always with God. “What is this “poof” you speak of?” Very old language. Doesn’t like the new technology.

Cupid: Cupid is one of the youngest brothers but not the youngest. He is very flirty but will not date as much as his job seems to make him think he is actually very kind and nice. He will be caring to his younger and only sister. He and Eros get along very well and will cause mischief for the humans.

Apollo: Also very Flirty. He is always outside, sunbathing. Never has dated someone more than one day. Also one of the singers of the family. Always sings with his sister.

Ares: Very angry at everything. The smallest thing can set him off. He can only calm down if he is tired or his sister tells him too/She starts crying. Very gentle with his young sister.

Hades: Very emo. Your edgy friend. What are emotions. Confused by plants. “I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY PLANTS NEED SO MUCH ATTENTION!” “It’s like Est-“ “I WILL THROW A STICK UP YOUR A** EROS” Very protective of his sister. Loves his sister because she gives him more attention and notices when he’s uncomfortable. They also are best friends since they have similar powers.

Poseidon: Causes most of the fights against Zeus. Greedy for attention when he wants it. He pretends he doesn’t care for his sister but she knows better. Pure tsundere.

Zeus: Huge ego. Like HUGE. If he didn’t win something, like anything, he will go into a tantrum. But he also is wise and fair, no matter what. He actually is pretty kind to his sister, but he hates any males that she encounters.

Loki: Obviously a great liar, he is cunning in every way. His sister is the only one who can see through his lies and one of the only ones he opens up too. He is good-hearted and will only listen to his sister if he is doing something wrong. She does love his pranks and jokes and he loves that about her.

Thor: Big Man. Says he is the strongest, but we all know Esther is. He also has a Big Ego. He also gets into fights and loves beer. Very overprotective of his sister but not that bad.

Eros: Very sexual boy. Flirts constently with everyone he meets but won’t ever date them. Gets flustered if they flirt with him back. He has the most normal relationship with his sister as she and him are just neautral with each other.

Satan: Hates God, as a brother. Has a lot of tantrums for the most random of things. If he doesn’t get something, complains. He actually is very kind but will explode, seriously. He is actually nice to his sister and explains his problems to her. Reminding her of Klaus.

God: Never is around since, heaven you know. But does help if she asks him to do something.

Kronos: Most Powerful out of all his brothers. Also known as TIME... Hint Hint. Kronos is very caring towards his younger sister, since youngest and oldest. Kronos is usually angry (Must Run in the family). Will murder someone if they hurt her or don’t return her feelings. *cough* Five *cough * Tells her about the future beforehand.
