remember when mobius said "the nexus event the two of you caused, whatever that connection is, can bring this whole place down" because i just remembered and now i'm gnashing my teeth, biting furniture, foaming at the mouth, etc

I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron (apart from I skipped some overly long action sequences) and I am not sure so can someone tell me whether or not Tony Stark was the baddy in that film? Because about halfway through I was sure he was but then it was maybe just an evil robot after all and I am confused because either this film was surprisingly subversive or it was about robots hitting each other.

Astarion is a tumblr sexyman, but that’s not why people are obsessed with him
It’s because he’s Byronic. People love lord Byron. It’s like a magic bullet. Idk what it is but people love a man who’s dramatique and charismatic and flirty and a little pathetic and has a corrupted sense of morality. It goes beyond tumblr sexymandom.
I keep seeing people who haven’t been on tumblr in a decade trying to call it that but, while a Byronic figure is a type of tumblr sexyman, it is a much older phenomenon and also not all-encompassing of all tumblr sexymen. It’s the nuance. Don’t dismiss 200 years of people being obsessed with this one dude in particular as a new thing.

i just had the saddest thought and i need to share it. what upsets me the most about the finale is not the fact that mobius and loki are separated and alone as of now, because given that they're the only two who didn't get any semblance of a happy ending that only proves how much they need each other and the logical conclusion is that no matter how long it takes, they will meet again. it doesn't matter that they're worlds apart; it's like the legend of the sun and the moon, they're only ever together during eclipses but they are.
no, what upsets me is the fact that they parted the way they did, with mobius feeling like loki perceives him as a second option, as he's left him behind to follow sylvie and even that big declaration of "i know what kind of god i need to be... for you" was ambiguous. it's the fact that mobius probably feels like he doesn't have a place in this world because the one person he chose to spend his existence with couldn't choose him, couldn't stay for him in the end. it's the fact that he loved loki exactly as he was and supported him through everything for god knows how long. he watched him on a screen, saw his entire life unfold over and over again and then got to be a part of it, got to fight for the freedom of the multiverse by his side and they won but at what cost? at the cost of having the chance to go back to his old life or staying at the job he dedicated eons to and knowing none of these places will ever feel like home again. because it's not about where, when or why. it's about who.

it's actually canon that thor will say 'i love you too' to mjolnir for listening to his rambling but not to loki who has just said he will always love him

You have to kidding when you say lokius or whatever is the superior Loki ship? Just because you ship it that doesn't make it superior. On top of that Mobius is the ugliest person to ever ship loki with
man, fuck off. someone asked me my opinion on Loki ships and I responded with my opinion on Loki ships. this is that whole "everyone on tumblr is chronically online and thinks every post must be About Them Specifically" bullshit I was talking about earlier. a girl can't even call her fav ship superior in her own post about her own ships without some asshole getting mad that I didn't account for Every Single Marvel Fan's Opinion Ever. make your own post about your own favorite Loki ship if you're this bitter idfc just go away

tbh theres a lot of pretty great queer rep out now. like, still not enough, sometimes it feels pretty few and far between, but it does exist in a bunch of capacities. there's romance, queer friendship, trans identities, etc. in many more shows than there used to be.
but not all of it is Romance Genre, with plots that revolve around the actual relationship. OFMD is filling a particular niche where the actual plot itself is the relationship between Ed and Stede. their love for one another moves the plot forward and its integral to the central thesis. it isn't a sideplot like, say, most of the romances in marvel movies while the actual plot is the Action or something of that sort.. the plot is Stede's self actualization and coming to terms with himself without running away from his past and a ton of that happens because of, and through, Ed.
so for that reason, it just hits different- that doesn't mean other queer rep is bad or subpar or whatever, it's really not, but if you're looking for a real, true Romance where that is The Plot itself, and involves a gay relationship as that plot- it is really one of the best things out there.
it's also just a fucking good show so 10/10 would recommend

Even with his destiny seemingly back in his own hands, the multiverse clearly had a sense of humour. No sooner had Loki escaped from the TVA into another reality, he had dropped right into the path of the monster known as Gargantos. Their mutual surprise meant that the tentacle slapping him in the chest wasn’t full force even if it was enough to break the TemPad he had been holding.
He tumbled across a ridiculously beautiful meadow, the grass so soft it had to have been some version of Alfheim. Loki muttered an ow more out of inconvenience than any true damage.
It transpired the beast was chasing someone. Ordinarily, the god of mischief might have left it to its own devices. Except it was a screaming, scared, young girl and his head was full of residual heroism and worry for another. And, honestly, he really wanted to kill something.
Having had the foresight to filch the daggers from the TVA lockers before he left, he conjured them into his palms and chased after the monster. His form flickered, scattering many images of him to confuse it as to which of him was the real Loki.
Leaping atop it, he drove the blades into the creature. “I don’t think so!”

WIP Wednesday
Gonna use WIP Wednesday to throw a bit of the not-Ottoman-Empire not-thorki fic at tumblr and see if anyone else finds it at all interesting/appealing (pls tell me whether to finish this or to pretend I never even thought of it):
Farbauti tells Loki tales of his siblings, all of the things she remembers about them as children and all of the strengths and weaknesses she has gleaned from weary travellers in the years since.
Loki sharpens the blade of his favourite dagger as she rambles on, idling in the heat from the fire in the hearth and only half-listening to her words.
His mother notes how his attention wanders and she tells him, sharply, “This is information that will save your life one day. This is how I’m going to win you your throne.”
Loki nods, apparently contrite, and drags the whetstone along the length of the knife. “I’m listening, Mother. I always listen.”
“To me?”
“To everything,” he answers, just as she wants him to.
Farbauti continues; “The one you must be most careful of is Thor. You were only small when he left the palace, and he wasn’t much more than a boy himself, but he takes after his mother. Which means that he would slit her throat if he saw any advantage in it. Perhaps he already has.” She laughs at that, loud and scornful.
Loki does, in fact, remember Thor. He remembers golden hair and easy laughter. He remembers the two of them playing together, dodging behind pillars in a game of chasing and hiding. He remembers, quite clearly (too clearly, perhaps; this part might be a later invention of his own imagination), that the game ended with both of their mothers scowling.

A friend told me that my work feels almost minimalist as in "not busy or complicated" but "with the exact right amount of fancy words and humor or snark so it feels professional" which was really interesting to me.
So if anyone's wondering, my work, as it stands in my head, is supposed to feel like this btw:
My works are supposed to be imagined like sitcom episodes with little watercolor backgrounds and cartoonishly illustrated characters. Depending on the chapter the art can be more or less realistic but just so everyone knows, this is what I see in my head when I write like 80% of the time.
So um anyway, I'm curious what art style other people write in. Do you imagine the real world or something more removed?

Tbh I hate superheroes. For me it was always some American gimmick that they paraded around. Like they would say that some foreign media is cringey or embarrassing and then go and film billion movies with men in tights flying around. I can never like it tbh
UPD oh the lego batman was fun tho

Sorry you got overwhelmed by the response to your "good character going evil" post. This was a really interesting weekend to have that particular discussion.
I hope my Michelle Gomez quote (originally applied to her own character, Missy) didn't make things too much worse.
Again, sorry you've had trouble.
(Post related to the ask)
Oh, this is actually so sweet! I never thought I'd receive any sort of apology, so thank you for that. You're adorable (if you allow me the compliment)!
Anyway, we're at about 14-15K notes now, so as for being overwhelmed by this post, I think I passed the mark a long time ago 🤣 (luckily I had already muted the notifications at the 100th note).
If anything, you really shouldn't worry. Your comment was one of those that made me smile (because yes, I read them all). As I said in my own reblog, way, WAY TOO many people get their references wrong because they confuse certain terms or mistakenly think a character is a hero when they aren't. Being the protagonist of a story does not mean being its hero too (if indeed there is any hero in said story)…
In short, all that to say that I absolutely do not blame you for commenting, in fact, I don't blame anyone. All this makes me laugh more than anything else and I'm happy to trigger so much enthusiasm. That's also the very principle of Tumblr, so I would be wrong to complain about it. Besides, if it starts to become too much, I can always turn off reblogs after all. 😉
Thank you again for your message, it touched me a lot. Have a nice day/evening wherever you are and maybe see you soon one of these days!
