so designing is taking Much longer than i thought it would.. because im rusty...

I'm thinking of replacing the high collar with a high collar + big hood. The mesh jacket's supposed to resemble the headpiece of chainmail armour, which many historic Nordic soldiers wore to battle (and is also where loki's myths are based off of!)

The arm guards and undershirt are also based off Nordic influence. The undershirt he's wearing (that I havent finished yet) is called a gambeson, which is the underlayer that many poorer Vikings wore in battle. I'll definitely spruce it up a bit more—currently trying to figure out how to incorporate the classic blackmask stripes without throwing the entire design off.

Oh, and the mask is based off of the crow skull! More detailed and skull-like than the original detective prince mask counterpart, I think.

If you have any ideas/critiques please do let me know ! I'm trying my best to use actual historical references + reading up on reliable sources for the Nordic inspiration, but I might have missed some things here and there... have a good evening everyone 💝💞

edit: if you're wondering, yes, a lot of the base clothing shapes are taken from techwear inspiration. I was trying to find a modern inspiration for the general clothing shape/silhouette (because as cool as my original historic Viking sketch was, it ended up clashing with Loki's design heavily).

I found a lot of surprising similarities with techwear and historic Nordic armour—hoods, belts, lots of layering, (sometimes) long tunics, baggy pants...! So now I'm trying to blend the two together into something that looks semi-cohesive LOL

I also have 100% color vision and you’re right that Tom’s eyes are blue, but they’re very pale and reflective so in some lighting they appear greenish. But LOKI’S eyes are green and when Tom went up for the part they were occasionally denoted as green and every once in a while, even for the recent show, they are edited to look greener, despite being listed on documents as blue. The MCU is inconsistent about this which has lead to a lot of pointless arguments amongst fans.

If you mean the Loki of the comics has green eyes, he's also listed as being 6'4", so obviously he and the MCU version don't have to match. But yeah the lightness of Tom's eyes means that sometimes it's hard to determine what colour they are at all -- blue? green? grey? some blend of the above? But I personally have never seen a non-obviously colour-edited pic or gif from the show or movies where they looked truly green; feel free to point out specific scenes where they look more green than anything else to you.

Conning Fans at Comic Con: Tom Holland x Reader

“You’re going to be able to blend in so much easier” y/n laughs as her boyfriend Tom finishes putting on his Spider-Man mask.

Tom nods extravagantly, already getting into character by showing emotions with his body language rather than facial expression since his face is covered.

“Ma’am, do you need help?” Tom asks, walking over to Y/n.

Y/n smiles at Tom through the mirror and nods as she continues to struggle securing her headpiece.

Tom reaches up and clasps the edges of her headpiece together so it sits securely in place.

“Thank you” she says, spinning around to face him.

“My pleasure, can’t ignore a damsel in distress” Tom says in his faux New York accent.

“Damsel in distress? Really?” Y/n asks, raising her eyebrow at Tom.

Tom shrugs innocently, “I meant no offense ma’am! We should probably get moving”.

Y/n sighs and checks herself in the mirror, still feeling her nerves on fire for her first Comic Con appearance as y/c/n.

Tom’s gloved hands resting on her waist pulls her attention away from the racing possibilities her anxiety is causing to float through her mind.

“You look incredible” he says, in his normal voice, squeezing her hips.

Y/n blushes and gives him a soft smile through their reflection.

“Besides ma’am, I’ll be there the whole time” he adds, back to his Peter Parker accent.

Y/n rolls her eyes and turns around and kisses Tom’s spandex covered cheek and giggles at the texture she’ll never get used to.

“Thanks, let’s go” she says, grabbing his gloved hand in her’s.

“Always, like I said, no damsel in distress when I’m around” Tom says as they walk, and y/n can hear the smirk in his voice.

Dramatically dropping Tom’s hand, y/n stops walking and turns to face him, hands on her hips.

“I’m not in distress” y/n glares.

“You are a damsel though ma’am” Tom says, pretending to shuffle nervously.

“Hmm perhaps, but whose fault is that?” Y/n suppresses a smirk at her tease.

Tom’s body freezes and while his eyes may be covered, she feels as though she can see his eyes widen.

“You- you want to get married?” Tom asks, his voice back to normal but catching.

“Tom, relax. It was a joke, breathe” y/n laughs.

Tom’s heart clenches at the possibility she may not actually want that. It’s been on his mind a lot recently but he wasn’t sure how to start the conversation about marriage in a few years.

“I would like to talk about this later” Tom says, swallowing the lump in his throat.

“Alright Tom, sure. But, we really should head to the fans” y/n says, grabbing and squeezing his hand.

Tom nods and tightens his grip on her hand as they walk to the dressing room door.

“It is probably a good thing you’re more in disguise, you suck at secrets” y/n teases quietly as they near the exhibition room door.

“Rude. True, but rude” Tom whispers back, a soft chuckle follows.

“Ready?” Tom asks, opening the backstage door.

Y/n nods reluctantly and shifts between her knee high boot covered feet as she waits for her cue.

Tom squeezes her hand before rushing over to hook himself into to the harness so he can swing into place upon the cue.

As they hear the cue begin, Tom looks over at y/n and nods encouragingly.

Knowing it’ll take a bit longer for her to walk onto the stage due to her nerves, Tom waits for her to begin her approach before he signals the attendant to pull him up so he can begin his entrance.

The second someone caught a glimpse of y/n in costume, the screams erupted.

Just as y/n reaches the center of the stage, Tom swings down and lands next to her.

Camera flashes and screams cause a blinding sensation for y/n as she proudly takes in the moment despite her nerves.

“Y/c/n and Spider-Man?!” The actor for the latest MCU villain declares as he “notices” the two of them.

Y/N’s character and Tom’s exchange a knowing glance before they begin their battle with the villain.

Upon finishing their scene, Tom rests his arm around y/N’s shoulder, facing the screaming crowd.

“Shush Tom” y/n laughs as they get into place behind the photo backdrop.

Tom places his gloved hand over his nonexistent mouth and nods.

“So, who is your favorite new character?” The photographer asks the group of fans taking a photo together.

“Y/c/n no doubt! She’s such a badass” one girl says.

Y/n silently goes to stand behind them and listens with a smirk on her face.

“I want to say her too as I love y/n, but I think America Chavez would beat her in a fight” her friend argues.

“Well, it’s a good thing we are on the same side then” y/n jokes, making her presence known.

The first girl let’s out a high pitched squeak and falls to her knees in shock.

“Oh I love you!” The other fan says, waving.

Y/n smiles and waves back, approaching the girl on the floor.

“I think we may need some help in here” y/n says, signaling Tom to enter.

The girl’s eyes widen as Tom makes his presence known as well.

“This is the best day ever” the second girl whispers.

“Would you guys mind doing a few photos?” Y/n asks, helping the girl off the floor.

“You’re asking us?! We were going to ask you!” the first fan laughs in shock.

Y/n blushes and nods.

“I really wanted a photo with both you guys but it wasn’t an option. Now I know why!” The second girl says, fanning herself with her hand.

Y/n and Tom laugh and Tom pridefully watches as y/n listens to the fans continue to gush about her and her character.

Upon the conclusion of the event, Tom smiles at y/n as he helps her get out of her costume.

At this point they’re both exhausted so neither one says anything.

However, their emotions are clear in their silent interactions and body language.

Y/n is feeling more secures in her new role in the MCU and Tom couldn’t be happier.

He is so glad she’s feeling confident and he can’t stop thinking about the conversation they need to have tomorrow about their future.

He would do anything to be able to keep doing this with her for the rest of their lives.

The new Video is fantastic, the editing feels the same (somehow? How?) it will be on my rewatch playlist. Let’s hope the introduction of Dr. Doom into the mcu will at last will spark a new Flame into the doomfrost tag on ao3 (and not butcher doom, but idk knocking on wood?). And fingers crossed on the MCU! I'm very skeptical about them adapting Doom since it went so poorly the last time a movie tried, but I want to be optimistic. But even if he's not good, it can always be a good jumping off point for new fans to find the comics and older versions.

I'll always have a big softspot for McMahon's Doom, though. He just blends with Hiddleston's Loki so well!

Are You Jealous? haunts me. I haven't written a follow-up chapter in so long. So, it's currently on the doubtful pile even though I do want to finish it.

Tension, slowing down moments, delving into character emotion.

Crunching myself for deadlines, writing some fics without an outline and then feeling unclear of the direction for the fic, getting distracted from my wips by the new shiny shiny.

Mobius' identity theory 6

On with my 20 days of pre-TVA Mobius’ identity theories event!

Day 6: Mobius is a robot!

Mobius? A robot? I know it may seem like a bold claim but I do have arguments to support that theory:

Remember when Loki arrived at the TVA and had to cross that portal to confirm he's not a robot? Remember what he says? "Do a lot of people not know if they’re robots?" Could that have been...foreshadowing???

Also, why is the TVA so wary of robots? Why would a "fully robotic being" need to be melted from the inside out? Would they be inherently more dangerous to the TVA than other variants? Would they be able to "log into" the TVA's core? Could they be "escaped" TVA creations? ...or could they simply spot another robot too easily?

His name!! Mobius Mobius Mobius. What is that for a name? Why is he the only person we know in the TVA to bear such a strange name? Others are either referred to as numbers (B-15, C-20,...) or have a more "classic" human name (Ravonna). Why the repetition? What are the chances Mobiusx3 was the name of a random human removed from his timeline? And if it's not, who named him like that? If there is "Mobius Mobius Mobius", may there have been a "Mobius Mobius" and a "Mobius" before? Prototypes that did not match Kang's expectations or malfunctioned? Could our Mobius be the first version of a robot created to serve the TVA (because, hey, how would it have functioned before the first variant was arrested and brainwashed?)?

Sleep! Did we ever seen Mobius sleep? We see Loki slumped on his desk, overcome with fatigue - and he is an Asgardian/Frost Giant, meant to be more resistant than simple humans (I mean yeah he had a rough time with the Avengers but who really knows how much time went by since then?). Shouldn't he be more resistant than your average mustachioed human we never see rest? He eats, right, but eating is a social activity: it would be natural for a robot to mimic that behaviour to blend in (and maybe food works as fuel for him as well!). Sleeping, you usually do it in private ...or you don't, if you are a robot and you don't have time to waste. Does Mobius realise he doesn't sleep? Does he think it's part of the TVA conditioning (along with the brainwashing?) Does he "disconnect" once a day (in private, when information he collected get registered in the TVA central computer or something?) and think this is "sleeping"? Who knows??

Following this theory, Mobius would thus not have had a nexus event but would have worked for the TVA from the start, as he's been conceived to do!

What do you mean this is far-fetched? My arguments are perfectly valid!! (also this may not be the craziest theory of the list, just you wait;)

A Review of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)”

Who would've thought that a hero called "Ant-Man" would succeed in a trilogy? I massively enjoyed the first one but found the second one to be quite forgettable. I loved the idea of smaller stake stories for Ant-Man films. It was a little surprising to hear that Ant-Man 3 would have bigger stakes as I didn't find this to suit the character. Is this a good entry for the little guy or quantum garbage?

The greatest highlight of this film is the antagonist, Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors. Kang is fearsome and menacing with a terrific performance by Jonathan that reminds me of Darth Vader. He steals the show in every scene, to the point that I was actually rooting for him. I am also glad that his performance is vastly different to the variant we saw in the Loki (2021) show. I can't wait to see more of Kang in the future! In terms of performance, I also enjoyed seeing more of Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne. She was barely in the second Ant-Man film but here she is front and centre. She shines in her performance and perfectly illustrates the guilt and fear her character is experiencing. Paul Rudd is still charming and charismatic as Scott Lang. His relationship with his daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton) is still the main core of his character. We get to see 'some' serious moments with his character which was nice to see.

Another thing I liked was the overall design of the Quantum Realm. The world and the living beings in the Quantum Realm were interesting. It had a very Star Wars/Mad Max feel to it with the blend of sci-fi, deserts and alien-like creatures. The 3rd act of the movie is also quite entertaining. For the most part, it's a giant CGI battle with lots of things happening on screen but it is fun to watch. I especially loved seeing Kang in action because we get to see how much of a beast he is compared to previous villains.

However, the writing is very weak. There are a lot of silly dialogues that just made me roll my eyes. It doesn't help that for some reason Marvel is still doing forced unnecessary humour. If this story is meant to be higher stakes then make it serious! The quips get overly repetitive. The first half is a little dull too with minimal interesting things happening. It doesn't take until over halfway through the movie to actually see Kang. Additionally, the ending was disappointing. It is very bland and safe which is a shame as this film could've delivered a shocking and memorable ending. This movie is also meant to build up hype for the next Avengers film but that ending fails to do even that.

MODOK is also in this film and it is a pointless addition. Not only do they change the character completely from their comic counterpart, but their role in the story is also absolutely irrelevant. Could take them out of the story and nothing will change. Despite the film being called Ant-Man and the Wasp, both Scott Lang and Hope feel like side characters in their own film. They have no character development and are just kind of there for the ride. Janet is more of a main character than them. I also don't like this trend in these recent Marvel films of Marvel characters looking out for these young characters. Cassie is the next in this trend and is also an annoying character like many of them before. I think Kathryn Newton is fine in her role but her character just isn't written well to be likeable enough for me to care. This is also a very CGI-heavy film and for the most part, it is okay but there are definitely times when it looks rough. The editing, especially during action sequences, can be really bad. They tend to do too many quick cuts during action sequences and for some reason use the shaky cam in 2023!

Overall, Ant-Man 3 is a bit disappointing. There was a lot of potential for this to be something great but the execution is quite poor. This isn't a great start to Phase 5 and I am getting worried about the future of the MCU. They need to do a better job at making people hyped for the next Avengers-level threat as this film isn't making me think this is a threat equal to or better than Thanos. I'm hoping future Marvel films start building up this new threat because they need to show us that this new threat is worthy of our attention.

The LOKI mech uses a rather overkill glass shader on the visor when rendering in Cycles. It will kill render times if it takes up too much of the render space. Swap it to the included E-Z shader if it takes too long to render. The E-Z shader is what is used for Eevee rendering and works in both Cycles and Eevee.

Note about the Metarigs:

I made several edits to the final rig that Rigify generated from the meta rigs, such as adding some custom properties and drivers, and fixing some bone constraint and heirarchy issues that were causing behavior I didn't want. If you re-generate the rig from the Meta-rig, all of that gets removed and would have to be re-built. I don't know who to make this in a way that doesn't cause this sry.

Red is the sequel to the novel I'm editing, orange and yellow are two scenes from the novel, green is the prequel, blue and purple are two fic ideas. There was a third fic idea which demanded my attention so I assigned it as pink jellybean, but it's posted and done with, so there's no pink jellybean right now.

I've been too tired to write for the past few days, so when I went down the colors of the jellybean parade, nothing caught my attention, but my chief muse, my handfasted, took the lead and told me that we could just hang out and we didn't have to talk about stories. He told me I could rest. I assigned him the designation of black jellybean.

My chief muse has a lot of faces and a lot of voices, but he mostly speaks to me in the voices of Hiddleston's Loki and Hodge's Hardison. Hardison laughed and he said he liked the nickname black jellybean.

The black jellybean collective is more or less a single personality with many variations; for example, there are a lot of canon Lokis that contribute to his shape, a couple of original characters that fit in his shape as well, and as I've mentioned previously, I was surprised to find Hardison lurking in there too, but upon reflection it makes sense.

The second group is a little looser, it's the one I call Goddess Soup. When I first conceived of it, it was mainly a couple of my original characters, but then Eliot Spencer joined them. They are all distinct people in some ways but blend together in others; they like to link up to learn stuff from each other and for extra stability.

The third group is the hardest to define because in some ways it is basically just everyone else; it's less a combination of similar muses and more a federation of very individualistic personalities. Parker is sort of in charge, but it's more democratic than the others. I have been calling it "quirk central."

I was sort of wondering if I could categorize any characters into those three, and found that it doesn't always work; I have strong muses that don't identify as part of any of the groups. But I got some pings, like my brain sending me notifications:
