Baby Leviathan AU
(Expanded from Day 1 of the Mermay Prompt Challenge)
In this AU, nature decides to even the scales by replacing one of their lost Leviathans with a new one (spoilers: It’s Blank)
The other Leviathans don’t really pay much attention to the newbie until snowstorms start to ravage the Arctic and mortals start disappearing
All the Leviathans (with their mortals accompanying them) go up to the Arctic to talk (or beat) some sense to the ambitious upstart
The entire group find Blank, who did not do what they did as a show of power but
As the new Leviathan, Blank has a lot to learn about their new role, abilities, and managing territory…which they have no clue about
“That’s fine. They babey and have enough time to learn! Don’t push so much responsibilities onto them! Stress isn’t good for babey. Kisses and food are!” :DDD - Reaper
Reaper does not make it easy for Blank to learn the ropes since he’s too busy fawning over and spoiling the baby
(All Leviathans end up spoiling baby tbh though some are more in denial than others)
Since Blank can’t really shrink, a lot of shenanigans happen to properly move them over to the Antarctic
It takes some time, but Error - the only one taking the job of training up the newbie seriously - manages to teach Blank how to breathe underwater indefinitely without the help of others
The sheer volume of Blank’s size and fluffiness makes them the best pillow for the mortals (and Leviathans in their smaller form)
This time, it’s Reaper who’s providing the milk since baby is too big to suckle from Geno
Cross and Blank may not have a shared past in this timeline, but he ends up being the most adored babysitter
Blue takes his “don’t eat mortals” lessons VERY seriously. Blank manages not to not eat the scared mortals that lash out at them, which is good! (But then an angry Nightmare destroys their ships and drowns them, which is bad, according to Blue)
Kelp must be the few mortals who takes a look at the behemoth that is Blank and go straight into baby-talking and fussing over them. Probably met baby when they were injured by something made by the scared landdwellers/walkers that Nightmare completely demolished
Everyone discovers that Blank’s talent is adaptability when Dream accidentally lets his heat abilities slip when he loses his temper. Blank wasn’t burned or bothered
XGaster is a more active villain here. He starts to pursue Blank after hearing about the unnatural weather and the disappearances
Totally has some goons, some disgruntled monsters and humans who were friends/acquaintances of the lost mortals
XGaster gets even more interested when he sees that Cross is with an interesting group of Mers - along with his Mystery Anomaly 00. Unfortunately for Cross, he gets captured again with the other members of the Shiver, which pisses a lot of the Leviathans off
XGaster attempts to use the Shiver as coercion to make the oversized baby to come along with him. What he doesn’t know is that Blank under stress means Blank ready for a huge tantrum
They summon a McFreakin’ storm at the Bermuda Triangle
They kinda start eating some little boats and guns…they spit out the mortals, of course, like a good seal pup
They start to throw a racket by crying (like many baby harp seals do), summoning very concerned and angry adults
XGaster’s plans kinda falls apart
Blank totally eats him at some point despite Blue’s “No Eating Mortals!” rule. (Guess that is this AU’s version of Crime Time. It’s technically against the rules, but is done with the intention to make Cross happy so it’s okay)
It takes a year, but Blank manages to learn how to adjust their size so they’re huggable to their mortal family members too (Score!!)
Because of their immortality, Blank stays small and cute for a long, LONG time. Civilizations rise and fall before they manage to start growing bigger and shed their skin. (Their part-human/mage status is up in the air since XGaster and Mia never met in this timeline. Maybe they’ll be a skellie.)
Just like the older Leviathans, Blank garners a reputation and even achieves godhood status in some Mer circles as some Figure of Mercy. If you get on their good side, you’d be spared by the others. Orca Mers have come to avoid hunting for white-coated seals/selkies in fear of accidentally hunting Blank and angering the other Leviathans

I was watching TikTok comps of this guy called Nature Hood and there was this one TikTok where he talked about how seals are the animal that gets the most violated by literally everything else (sharks, orcas, seagulls, otters, etc) and now I can't shake this mental image out of my head of selkie Little My being actually feared by all of these animals because she's just that indestructible
You know, that's actually very interesting. Like, all Selkies would be scared of sharks and all the other predators (the children mostly), but Little My?
shark: *tries to eat Little My*

A DAY OR TWO LATE (am I really late if mermay isn't over yet?), BUT I GOT YOU GUYS A LONG POST WITH THE GOOD STUFF FOR MOOMINSEA AU:
Since Snorks are just color-changing Moomintrolls with longer fur, I decided Snorkfishes are just color-changing Moominfishes with longer fins (*accidentally draws the trans pride fish with Snorkmaiden*);
For Sniff, I got help from @lonesome-vagabond, who straight up told me to look up for sea dragons. I don't think he meant an actual Phycodurus, but I swear that when my eyes landed on that small long-nosed and long-tailed scaredy-cat thing I only saw Sniff. So Sniff is a Phycodurus;
Now, of course Little My's best sea-species match would be a siren/mermaid once she is definitely the type to drown sailors and fishermen for fun unlike Selkies do, but I thought a lot about it and I got to the conclusion: all Mymbles should be Selkies. It's not only because of the sweet and carefree nature Mymbles and Selkies have in commun (which we know Little My goes against), but also because of the way both Mymbles and Selkies are absolute simps (again, Little My goes against the two species' nature),
Can't you just see that happening between Mymble Jr and her little siblings? Also, if Moominsea's Snufkin is a Selkie, his mother is automatically a Selkie too, while Joxter is a human.
Now, thinking about Mymble(mamma), she'd be the traditional "I go to the beach to have some cake by the ocean and go back underwater with a child, as my hobbie" type of Selkie, so Joxter would be one of the many sailors/fishermen she saved/found by the beach and had a romantic relationship with only to have a baby Selkie (Snufkin) and take him with her. If Snufkin had been born a human, maybe he'd have gotten to live with his father instead.
Where is Joxter now? Nobody knows. Some say he moved away from the beach, others say he died of broken heart. But Snufkin believes Joxter is still out there trying to find his lost baby, and goodness, he'd give anything to meet his human father during his winter trips too.

Leviathantale MerMay 2021 - Day 12: Trapped
A snippet from the Baby Shark AU (fondly known as the Trauma AU to @letsallbecalmchaps and me)
Blank whines as the water rushes through the vent in their cage, leaving less and less air for the pup. Cross, restrained and completely paralyzed because of his position, is helpless as fear completely overtakes his little sibling’s eyes.
Cross wishes desperately that he could scoop them up and hug them. He wishes that he could tell them it would be okay. But neither of that is possible because of his bindings and gag.
It takes only three minutes for their container to completely fill with ocean water. It takes fifteen more for Blank to truly start drowning. They twitch and cough as their tiny lungs fill with water.
Just a few hours ago, Cross had been relieved that Dr. Gaster had put them together in the same container as he made plans to move them to the new laboratory. The entire experience would have been frightening and stressful without Blank there. Now, he wishes Gaster had been cruel. Perhaps then, Blank wouldn’t be trapped and drowning.
Cross watches miserably as the baby seal writhes in agony.
But that’s nothing compared to when it all stops.
Blank’s little body goes still and floats in front of him. For three, soul-wrenching seconds, Cross’ soul goes cold. He thinks that he has failed. He failed Mia and he failed Blank. But before he could even fully process the idea of Blank’s death, the seal pup’s little body starts to faintly glow with magic. A miracle happens.
For an unknown amount of time later, when Ink and Error comes upon the metal box and rips it open, they find a bound mershark and a tiny shark pup curled at his side.

Leviathantale MerMay 2021 - Day 1: Leviathan
I know it's a bit late, but I'd like to participate in Sku's MerMay Prompt List. Here's Day 1! This is not canon to "Little Selkie".
There were once seven Leviathans who roamed the earth. Natural disasters would follow them as they fought amongst each other. Then, one day, two of their own vanished. Shaken by their abrupt disappearances, the remaining Leviathans halted their war.
Centuries later, the remaining five have found a new way of life. With peace, they have realized that the way they had lived and fought was not only pointless, but also harmful to all of the other lives on earth. Their existences have become legends and myths in a quickly modernizing world and they find that they have no reason to change that. They remained hidden and out of sight. They simply wanted to live peaceful lives with their loved ones.
But then, something changed.
As if the even the scales that had long since been uneven, a new Leviathan has appeared. The other Leviathans felt their existence. At first, they originally decided to ignore the newcomer, but then they’re hearing news about the northern ice caps not melting despite warmer weather and about mortals are disappearing. Perturbed and worried, the five gather together and decide to meet the new Leviathan and set some ground rules for this upstart.
There are a lot of snowstorms in the Arctic, making it hard for many to see and thick ice. Dream’s Koi form paves a bath for the sea-bound mers, and they eventually get to the heart of the storm.
When the group reach the center, what they find is completely beyond what they expected: a giant, baby harp seal about the three times the size of a school bus. Instead of the full-grown behemoth the other expected, the new Leviathan is but a scared and bleeding, little (in their perspective) infant.
“But this doesn’t make sense,” Nightmare says, staring disbelievingly at the shivering, giant poofball in front of him, “a Leviathan can’t be a child. We all come into being fully grown.”
Alas, it is the case, no matter how impossible Nightmare and the others think it is.
It turns out the snowstorms and the chaos were simply a reaction from being attacked by landwalker mortals, not some Leviathan flexing their powers as many amongst them had feared. The group also discovered who happened to the missing mortals when the baby Leviathan burps out a snowshoe.
“They deserved it,” Geno decides, looking at all the bloody clubs and stray guns.
“We should still teach them that eating mortals are bad,” Blue frets as the baby Leviathan, now less wary and fearful of the newcomers, coos curiously at everyone. They’re especially enraptured by Ink, Error, and Dream’s colors.
The baby Leviathan is immensely grateful when Reaper plucks out the pesky bullets and heals them. They flop their head onto his outstretched hands and gives them a nuzzle.
“Oh no,” Reaper gasps quietly, “oh nooooooo.”
Reaper adopts them by the time he leaves the Arctic. Baby is supposed to stay in the territory? Too bad. Baby is too young to manage territory anyways. Is Geno still Mama in this AU? Don’t be silly, of course he is. Giant or tiny, baby is still baby.
(I call it the Little Leviathan AU)

Baby Shark AU
When XGaster prepares to move laboratories, he leaves Blank inside of Cross’s half full cage to encourage him to behave. The cage is knocked into the ocean and sinks to the depths, with Cross and Blank still inside
The vent that allowed the air for Blank to breathe now is letting the ocean water flood the cage. Blank holds their breath as long as they can, around 15 minutes, before they start to drown. Cross, bound and gagged, is completely helpless and is forced to watch his little sibling slowly struggle and suffer for the next few minutes. Just before they die, their mage abilities manifest early, turning them into a Thresher shark pup.
They spend the next few days trapped together in that cage, in the cold dark abyss before they are rescued by Ink and Error.
Cross takes Blank up to the surface to breathe. They struggle against shifting back but finally do so, as the stress of the transformation is too much for them.
They spend the next couple of months together, with Blank in shark form following and feeding off of fish, Neither want to be separated after everything that happened.
Cross eventually encounters Dream sunbathing and they start to bond. Dream is curious why a shark pup is following a mer but thinks they’re cute. As time passes Cross and Blank are eventually brought in to meet the shiver. Upon realising it’s a group of sharks, Cross tells Blank not to show their seal form in front of them, just in case.
Eventually the shiver is curious about Blank vanishing towards the surface every other day and send Killer to follow them, learning that they are actually a Selkie.
Upon confrontation Cross opens up more about their past and the shiver all express support for Blank.
Blank shares Cross’s fear of the dark and tight spaces in this AU
Blank also develops a fear of drowning and for a long time is resistant to their seal form. Feeling to vulnerable and scared to do so.
At one point the shiver hunted a seal but both Cross and Blank got rather upset. They didn’t know why till later, but it reinforced Blanks refusal to stick to their true form.
As Blank shifted before they even learnt to walk in their legged form, most of their skin shifts are of the full animal rather than a mer.
Both Blank and Cross have intense separation anxiety.
A storm sweeps Blank away, they are eventually found by Blue and Geno (having had their leviathan mates meet recently to clear up Blue’s accidental trespassing)
While Ink and Error teach them a little about shapeshifting, Blank and Geno bond. Blank admires Geno’s strong seal form and eventually learns to accept their seal form and feel more comfortable in their own skin.
Eventual happy reunion with Blank returning to the shiver, more confident and independent than before.

Papa Kelp AU
On a regular fishing trip Kelp finds a young harp seal pup trapped in a net. He releases it and calls for a seal rescue to come collect them.
A couple of weeks pass, only for him to find the same pup again, having been released by the rescue after some healing, believed to only be a regular seal. He sees them trying to offer him little trinkets from the shore and, confused, does a check. He realises that instead of a normal pup, this is a selkie! A very young, baby Selkie named Blank.
He, knowing he couldn’t risk the wrong ears hearing about them, decides to take the pup in as his own while seeing if he can find the parent, but none are ever found.
As the months pass the pup grows a little stronger and starts to follow him on his walks and fishing trips. He eventually introduces them to Horror, a shark mer that he had befriended some time ago. Horror offers to help the pup with learning to swim and hunt, Kelp agrees and it becomes a regular lesson, with the trio bonding and getting even closer.
Eventually Horror spreads the news of this little friend which draws the curiosity of the shiver, who come to investigate, also falling for the pups charms.
Blank is around 6 months old, the same age as they were when Geno would find them in the main fic
Dream also adores the pup and (consensually) takes the down to the trenches when Blank has grown a little
Dust also acts a little like a parent alongside Horror and Kelp
Cross is a part of the shiver by this point but is still adjusting to his new life. After a while he hears it mentioned that there is a Selkie pup being raised by a friend of the shiver on the surface and demands to tag along
It is a very emotional reunion.
Blanks mage abilities first manifest when they try to imitate Cross’s shark form.
Nightmare and Dream decide to take Blank to Ink for some shape shifting lessons, as is done in the original fic
The storm washes Blank into Reapers territory, where they are caught and later rescued from poachers by Reaper
Reaper and Geno spends some time bonding with Blank before eventually learning of their origins and returning them

Here are some small AU ideas that were thrown around for Little Selkie
Blue’s Reverse Harem: The Little Selkie story is all a decoy, the real story is Blue getting 10 boyfriends but through an unaware baby’s eyes. Crack AU
Papa Blue: Blue finds Blank and takes them in, teaching them to harness their cuteness to their own benefit + Ink & Error parent shenanigans. Introduced to Geno by Blue and meet the shiver via storm etc.
Cross & BEI: Cross stays with Ink and Error after his rescue as he is weak and currently lacks anywhere to go. He meets Blue and lives with them for about a year. When I&E go to defend their border from Reaper he meets Blank again. When the storm hits, he follows after them. He loses track of them and panics. While exhausted he continues searching and meets Dream, who offers to help in the search. Blank is found with Kelp but Dream tells them to stay a week to allow Blank to recover while he and Nightmare go alert the others Blank is safe. The shiver bonds with Cross and when it is time for Blank to return home Cross chooses to stay with the shiver as long as Blank can visit and vice versa. Also known as the Safe Shores AU because Ink, Error and Reaper don’t need to cause mass destruction on the surface in their panic as they know Blank is safe

An excerpt from the Alex Rider selkie au I'm working on!
Come to the water, young one,
Where it is safe and warm.
Come to the water, my little seal,
Where you won’t be found.
Come to the sea, little seal,
Where you are from.
Come to the sea, little one,
Where I wait for you.
Like many selkies, she gave up her life in the sea for a human one. There aren’t many selkies left, and with no one to share it with, the ocean becomes quite lonely. And she had always longed for a pair of legs, ever since she had seen how humans created cities and buildings everywhere they went. She wanted to explore them all, and that is how she found herself on land, walking through crowds of humans and marvelling at the trees that towered over her. With time, the loneliness faded away and she found herself falling for the charm of a human, and she built a new life for herself. She told him of the sea, and diving for clams, and basking in the winter sun, and thought that perhaps, she would even tell him of her sealskin.
She had never thought that this world, with all its marvels, came with new and unexpected dangers, too. Like sharks cutting through the current, they would come for her husband, and for the first time in years, she brought out her sealskin, taking it away from its hiding place. The dark, mottled grey fur was just as soft as she remembered, and lay next to her little one’s white and gleaming fur.
With a weary sigh, she bundled them up, and looked over to her son, sleeping peacefully in his cot across the room. Hopefully, she could leave the furs bundled up where they were. But if the time came, she would be ready to fall into the waves of the ocean once more.

So here are a few facts about the Merrow Species for my AU
- The merrow have no royalty, instead they live together in communities near their given reef and migrating is very rare.
-The whole thing about ‘dissolving into sea foam’ is created as a myth, but when a merrow dies they have to be buried in the sea cliffs, before the body floats to the surface.
- They can also consume raw and cooked fish for their diet.
-Sea Serpents, Selkies, and Kelpies are considered to be extinct in modern times.
The merrow species also have evolved to adapt to their given environment (think saltwater crocodiles, manta rays cephalapods, jellyfish, sea snakes etc.)
-Most merrow are very cautious around humans, you may never know if they plan to drown or bring you to shore...
I hope this counts for Miracle Mask’s anniversary, it’s one of the two things I plan to make to help you lovely readers who have been reading “The Tune of the Tides”

selkie aus!!! I love selkie aus and I love selkie Martin! do you have any thoughts about how him and jon meet?
hey! sorry it took me so long to get around to this - holidays, among other things - hope you don’t mind
but yeah! I have a handful of thoughts, nothing too set-in-stone or anything, of course
I’m sure Martin would see Jon out on the beach a lot when they were kids, and had a few minor interactions, but Jon just thinks Martin’s a regular seal, and Martin would be too shy to in any way lead him to think otherwise. Their first proper meeting happens when Martin gets injured in a storm in human form, and Jon takes it upon himself to help, still unaware of the truth.
I know it’s a bit vague, but I do hope to flesh it out properly sometime (especially if there’s interest?) thanks so much for asking, and I hope this answers your question! :]

Y’all I just had the BEST fucking idea
So there are like FS+ AUs where the Links represent different elements and stuff, but...
FS+ AU where they all represent different seasons instead.
Green represents Spring. Flowers grow where he walks, there’s a pleasant breeze all around him, plants brighten up when he’s nearby, and others are energized when he enters the room, not excited, just safer and happier.
Red represents Summer. Everything is just a little warmer when he’s nearby, the air is filled with an excitement and eagerness to have fun that wasn’t really there before, and the animals come to talk to him when he passes by.
Vio represents Autumn. The plants wilt a little, the streams might dry up or there would be sudden flood that lasts for days. Autumn is unpredictable, and so is the weather. The leaves all change color, the grass dries, and the air gets colder.
Blue represents Winter. Ice and snow covers the land, fires go out when he’s nearby, your fingers start to freeze when he’s near, the plants die out, and instead the most beautiful winter flowers appear in their places.
Shadow represents the In-Between. When the seasons shift, and the colors change, and the weather gets colder or warmer, he’s there, helping them drift along. He’s never able to stay for the whole season, but maybe in the Hellos and Goodbyes.

Nature | Undertow
Nosdecember day 16 | @neworleansspecial
Marine biologist!Sarah, Selkie!Ava; Sarah goes down to the beach one sunny morning and runs into an unexpected issue
Sarah emerged from her room, rashguard half pulled down over her swim top, looking for her roommate. The man in question just laughed at her struggle, setting down his coffee cup to help her before she even had a chance to ask. The back of the spandex top had gotten twisted, which was almost impossible to fix by herself; especially when the heat of the summer day already had Sarah sweating.
“What would you do without me?” Crockett teased as he gave the blue material one last tug to make sure it covered Sarah’s back completely. She just rolled her eyes, still thanking him for his help, and gave him a nudge with her shoulder.
“Coming down to the water with me?”
“Can’t,” he replied and passed her a bottle of sunscreen off the top of the cupboard, “Doctor Nkosi wants me to go monitor the African penguins today since their main keeper is out.”
“Have fun with that,” Sarah laughed, knowing the research facility’s resident penguins could be a hassle. Most were there for rehabilitation, save for a one footed female and her mate who couldn’t be released due to safety concerns. They had a habit of chasing the staff around their area or trying to woo them rocks and nests. There was one penguin in particular who loved Crockett, always trying to drag him to a new nesting area she made. They were funny birds to say the least, but neither of their areas of interest when it came to sea life.
“Make sure you don’t stay out all day,” Crockett had slipped into his room to change and spoke a bit louder to be heard through the door, “and take some water, the last thing I need is you passing out from dehydration in the ocean.”
“I’ll be fine, Crockett,” Sarah still did grab a couple bottles of water out of the fridge, shoving them haphazardly into her backpack. The thing was waterproof, for obvious reasons, but Sarah still grabbed a plastic bag to put her phone in. Better safe than sorry, after all. She also added a tupperware in case she found any shells or specimens while out on the water. She was just going mostly for fun but work often found its way into her daily life anyway.
“It’s your turn to cook dinner tonight!” Crockett called, his only reply being a laugh from Sarah and the click of the screen door shutting.
Sarah first made a stop at her turtle nests, keeping her distance at first to ensure she didn’t upset any mamas who may be around. She peeked in the one dune, smiling when she saw there must be over a hundred eggs. Though she knew some wouldn’t hatch, she was excited to see the ones that did later in the summer. Leatherback sea turtles were such an interesting species so Sarah was grateful she would be able to witness their hatching.
She had her surfboard under one arm, not intending to surf but bringing it just in case. The waves were a bit too small that day and Sarah still wasn’t very confident on waves anyway. She liked to sit on the board though, as it gave her a chance to be in the deeper water without having to use as much strength to stay afloat.
She left her bag and towel on the rocks, where she knew she could see it from the water. There weren't many people around anyway and she wasn’t too worried about her stuff being stolen this close to the house. The water was cold, biting at her small amount of exposed skin and making Sarah glad she put on her rashguard that morning. With the leash of her board attached to her right ankle, Sarah waded out into the water until she reached the point where she could no longer touch the ocean floor. She was up to her neck in the salty water by the time she got the courage to dunk her head under, knowing she wouldn’t adjust to the temperature until she acclimated her whole body.
Resurfacing, Sarah pushed back the damp strands of hair that had begun to escape from her braid. The cool water was a welcomed escape from the harsh heat of the late morning sun, which had been the main cause of the week’s ridiculous humidity. South Africa was certainly a different climate than Chicago, especially considering it would be snowing and below thirty degrees back home. One thing Sarah had yet to adjust to was the different hemispheres, since the opposite seasons certainly made summer in December a confusing feat.
After hoisting herself up, Sarah took a moment to catch her balance. Once comfortably straddling the polystyrene board, she watched nature passing her by. There wasn’t anything nearby, obviously, since her venturing out into the deep water had scared away even the most adventurous fish. Still, there were birds roosting on the edge of the cliffs and she could see a blue crane preening on a rock up ahead, its long neck bending with ease. The water reflected the blue sky in a beautiful way, clear enough that Sarah had a pretty good visual of the brightly coloured fish swimming amongst the coral. This was her safe place, which felt more like home than any house or apartment ever had. The warmth of the sun drying her hair, the sound of waves crashing against the rocks; this was peace.
Sarah spotted a pod of seals, ones she often saw basking on the shorter rock formations along the cliffs. She assumed they were in the middle of pupping season, as she saw a couple tinier seals hopping around after the biggest females. Though they weren’t her creature of major interest, Sarah had become rather fond of this pod. They were amusing to watch and she adored the inquisitive dark eyes that would sometimes lock on her from across the beach. She never got too close, though there were a few seals who didn’t seem very afraid of her.
She was watching them from afar, smiling when a pup stumbled clumsily into the water. Seals were definitely not the most graceful creatures but they sure were cute. Sarah probably should have paid more attention to whatever brushed against her ankle but in her mind she just thought it was her surfboard leash moving with the current. A harsher nudge to her knee, tough whiskers poking at her skin, was what got her attention. However, before she could even think of looking down, her board was being tipped over completely.
Sarah was quick to hold her breath, though too startled to close her eyes underwater. Through the blurriness caused by the salty water, she caught a glimpse of a silvery tail flicking past. Heart beating like crazy, she scrambled to grab her board, using it to pull herself back up. By the time she had resurfaced, she couldn’t see whatever had knocked her over but she had a feeling it had been on purpose. It didn’t feel malicious, obviously because she hadn’t been attacked, but the whole situation was odd. She glanced back over at the rocks, catching sight of a familiar grey flipper popping up from the water to tug its body onto a shallow rock.
Sarah watched idly, trying to process what had just happened. It was almost undoubtedly the seal that was very unafraid of her, one that was more grey than the usual warm brown pelts of the cape seals in the pod. She was the only creature in sight with a grey tail, after all, so Sarah had to assume that was the culprit. She didn’t understand, though. Seals weren’t usually so daring around humans. That, paired with her appearance and lack of fear, confused Sarah greatly.
She would have to talk to Crockett about this. Since his research was on the intelligence of marine animals, maybe her roommate would have some logical explanation for this behaviour.
