HELPPP i saw something similar on hinge, and i was hunched over the side of my bed laughing for like 20 minutes. in general, i don't think pranks with any of the bllk boys would go well (unless you wanted to be punted like a football, american-style) but i'm taking a risk today, so here you go:

sae sees through your bullshit in a peloponnesian minute. he has morning practice, three interviews, and a daily nap to get to, so what makes you think he has time for you to fake a car accident? leaves you on read. (brutal, i know.)

rin is mildly concerned, but he's too smart to fall for whatever prank you have planned. he'd probably reply with a sarcastic, dry ass response or a deadpan emoji. refuses to talk to you for the rest of the day because what if you actually got into a car accident? he would lose all sanity. tbh he can't stand it when people make light of serious situations even if it's just a lighthearted joke.

kaiser is petty. he sends you an official funeral invite titled "in loving memory of y/n." he personally designed it in photoshop and even added those tacky glitter rose GIF animations on the front. coincidentally, everyone in your immediate circle also happened to receive the same mass email chain with those invites, so you had to explain to your family, friends, and co-workers that (1) you did not in fact die in a car accident and (2) your funeral is not set for the 15th. (you never played a prank on michael again.)

isagi freaks out. he's calling 911/119, whatever emergency service there is. immediately calls you and nearly breaks down in fear of losing you. when you tell him it was merely a prank, he laughs in relief but internally he's cursing you out with every colorful name in existence.

ness is isagi but even more high-strung. there is no time to call the ambulance in his mind. he's already thundering down the highway looking for the evidence of your car wreck. calls you and screams ballistically into the speaker: "WHERE ARE YOU? WHERE ARE YOU? WHERE ARE YOU?" so yeah....don't ever play a prank on ness. it's for your sake, not his.

shidou takes you up one notch and sends a picture of himself in the emergency room with a cast on his leg and an IV drip. this spawn of satan took your message literally and decided to copy you and got into a real car accident. so now you have to take time off work and sign the hospital discharge papers because he listed you as his sole emergency contact.

nagi doesn't give a shit. he's already chronically online, and reo's played pranks on him before. probably texts you an "ok" and then tells you he's run out of toilet paper again, so you need to stop by the store to buy some.

reo matches your energy. he replies with: oh yeah, i've heard of that brand. it's the—*insert sound of trucks colliding and screeches across asphalt* you both had a good laugh after.

Dead Dove, Content Entitlement, and Fandoms

There's been no end of posts clogging up popular fandom tags with arguments and opinions on dark content, dead dove, and related things. While I've seen some decent posts that go over media literacy and dark content, I personally feel like none fully encompass my entire feelings on this nor provide all the points that I feel are important.

I know people have strong feelings on this subject, and I'm not expecting to immediately change anyone's minds. But I hope maybe I can toss some food for thought out there, or provide further context from both a victim of SA as well as a content creator. This has been bothering me for a while now to the point where it has been making me no longer want to write or engage in fandoms on Tumblr, and so I needed to get this out there with my stance. I've also had people in my inbox stating that my dark content is somehow morally better than other writer's dark content. TW: Mentions of dark content including discussions of noncon/dubcon, harassment, SA, etc.

Addressing Common Points

If you write or consume [INSERT CONTENT], you're romanticizing and endorsing it and that makes you a bad person. Or, you're weird/wrong/gross for it. I see this brought up primarily with dubcon/noncon topics. It should go without saying, but fiction is fantasy, it's separate from real life. Adults who consume this type of content understand that these things are NOT ok in real life. But to take it a step further, I want to stress that having noncon fantasies is actually INCREDIBLY common. In studies regarding these fantasies, nearly 50% or more of people who participated admitted to having fantasies that align with these topics the majority of which are women. Not only that but these kinds of fantasies are even more common in people who have been victims of these crimes. This isn't some niche thing only liked by a minority of people. If you don't believe me here's an example of ONE study, but there's plenty of easily accessible information out there. By conflating consuming/writing this content with someone's moral character stigmatizes these feelings further and does more harm than good. And I know what you're thinking though. But why? Why would someone who's gone through something like that fantasize about something so awful? Why is this appealing to anyone, victims or not? Fiction creates a safe space to explore topics. In fiction there are no real victims, no one is actually getting hurt, it's all fake. The characters aren't real and if at any point as the reader you are too uncomfortable to continue, you can stop and exit. You can like the idea of a fictional person tossing you around, while also feeling uncomfortable if a real life man tried to pick you up a the bar or didn't take no for an answer. There's also "normal" things you can fantasize about, but not want to participate in IRL.

Hypocrisy and what is considered dark content? This won't apply to everyone, but I've seen a number of people who claim to be anti-dark content but reblog things that are non consensual, perhaps without realizing it. And this is especially true for those who are younger on here. Please understand that noncon/dubcon does not inherently need to be violent or gory. Any situation in which there's a lack of consent or a power imbalance is inappropriate. Somno fics? If it's not explicitly stated that it was agreed upon prior in the fic, that is still non consensual even if it's written to be "sweet.", even if it's a pre-established relationship. Professor x student fics? There's power imbalance there. There's a reason you cannot have a relationship with your teachers in real life. Hybrid fics? Most people write hybrids as completely sentient people who are treated as sex slaves. They have little choice or are "following instinct." You cannot consent to someone who literally OWNS you after adopting you. You get the gist. There's far more to consent than physically manhandling someone. Yet because these things are written in a way that contextualizes them as being "sweet" and "normal", they aren't considered dark content by many people. If you're ok with the above, you have to understand that these ARE forms of dubcon/noncon. I would even argue that these are more romanticizing of these topics than stuff that's far more explicit in nature. If you would be pissed if your IRL partner tried to feel you up in your sleep, but enjoy somno fics, or enjoy the Taboo of Professor Leon, but wouldn't fuck your actual college professor - then that is the EXACT way in which people who enjoy even "darker" content can enjoy the fiction whilst not partaking in real life.

It sets a bad example for younger people on the website/"protect the children." Children shouldn't be looking at smut in general, dark content, vanilla content, etc. I don't know what else to tell you. It is NOT the job of content creators to try and police what teenagers do on the internet, that's between them and their parents. The majority of creators who make 18+ content explicitly state MDNI and block those younger than 18 if we discover them trying to interact with us. That is the most that we can and should be expected to do.

[INSERT CHARACTER] would NEVER act like that, it irritates me when people write them as OOC. Fanfiction is by definition NON canon. The only people who truly know how a character is supposed to act are the people who created those characters. But I want to add on to this, there are plenty of times in which a character acts entirely OOC even in fluffy or vanilla fanfiction. Every writer is going to have a different interpretation of how a character acts or thinks - and yet it's only really complained about when it's dark content. These characters are not real. Leon cannot be upset or hurt by people writing dark content about him, because he doesn't exist. Part of the fun of fanfiction, at least in my opinion as well, is justifying certain things within the context. Many dark content writers will and do explain why the character became how they are or why they think that way using canon as context - not that I think it's required because fanfiction can be whatever you want it to. The point is, dark content or not, not everyone will be on the same wavelength as you about your favorite character.

Even if you're a victim of SA or other crimes, you should get professional help, not read dark content. This is a very bad take in my opinion. Mental health care can be incredibly hard to get. Reading fanfiction is free, it's harmless. But genuinely, imagine you're a victim of a heinous crime, and you're already struggling with feelings regarding it - to then be mobbed by people online telling you that you're weird and wrong for having the feelings that you do? This is also in league with my first point, but having these feelings are actually VERY normal. This is a healthy way to process the emotions in a safe environment where no real person gets hurt, where you can leave whenever you want. Stigmatizing these things does hurt real people though.

You're hurting other people who're victims of these things. Look, if a fic is not properly TW then I fully understand. Every victim will have a different experience, and while some may be ok with dark content, others won't. So if you open a fic expecting it to be one thing and it's another, that's shitty. But tags are there for a reason. If you see something marked Noncon, and that's triggering for you, no one is expecting you to read it. And here's the thing with tags/tw's as well, everyone's trauma is different. Something that one person might not consider dark content, or is generally considered innocuous might trigger someone else. If you are one of those people who think even seeing the trigger warning could be harmful to people, then that's a prime example of WHY you must curate your own experience online. Block certain words, tags, and phrases to make sure you don't see them. But that's on YOU to do, not people who create content. Their only responsibility is to warn you about the contents of the content they've made, their responsibility stops beyond that point. You know what DOES affect real people besides the stigmatization of their feelings or kinks? Harassing them. Leaving hate comments, telling people to unalive themselves. These affect the mental health of the real people behind the content that you don't like. I've seen death and rape threats SENT to dark content writers.

Dark content in other forms of media. It's interesting to me that the majority of discussion around dark content comes from people criticizing fanfiction specifically. Take horror movies for example. The Saw Franchise, we'll say. Do you think the creators of that series want to enact those horrible things onto other people? Do you think they want to be the victims of Jigsaw themselves? What about people who watch content like that? You probably don't think that they do. There's TONS of movies, music videos, even horror novels that have incredibly, and I mean INCREDIBLY dark dead dove content - and yet most people understand that the appeal is in the taboo. That it's fiction. That people who consume THOSE forms of media don't want to participate in those things but do enjoy consuming that content. But when it's fanfiction it somehow becomes a problem.

Entitlement and demand of fandom content. In addition to all of the above, there is a major uptick in people complaining about the content within fandoms some not even relating to dark content. "There's too many stories where reader acts like X." "I hate how so many people characterize this person because that's now how they would act!" "Why is there so much smut? Why can't there be more of {insert what I want}". This is FREE content made by people who do this stuff as a hobby. No one owes you content, and no one HAS to write the way you want them too. If there's tons of content like that, then it's because it's popular. Perhaps your version of a character is in the minority opinion, and that's completely ok!

What's the solution to all of this discourse?

Be the change you want to see! If you feel like there's too many x reader fics where the reader doesn't act how you want - then write it the way you want. Do you have head canons about a series or character that you haven't seen discussed before? Make that post yourself! If you don't feel there's enough fluff in the fandom - then create some! And if you don't want to make content yourself - request it, commission it. Interact with your favorite writers! Encourage them, don't demand. Talk with them about their work, leave comments, and reblog, reblog, reblog!! Being a part of the discussion and interaction is the BEST way to help the community thrive. Surround yourself with the content that YOU want, curate YOUR experience. Block every dark content writer you see if it helps. Go into your Tumblr settings, block words, block tags. Don't set yourself up to be upset or bothered by the content you're getting. Even if you read the above and you still think every dark content writer is a horrendous, awful person - the best thing to do is still block them. Block their content. Harassing them and complaining on it will NOT stop that content from existing. But you will continue to upset yourself by not curating your own experience.

JK's Seven live

JK starts off announcing his new single Seven. He immediately says he knows people will be disappointed it is just a single and not an album, but don't worry, he is working on a "full" album. It irritates me that he feels the need to even acknowledge this. JUST BE HAPPY HE'S CREATING NEW MUSIC OF ANY KIND.

He says he likes it and thinks we'll like it a lot and to look forward to it.

My take on perhaps what the MV might be like? He says its a feel good song that fits this time of year and since it was filmed in Los Angeles, the land of palm trees, sunny days and beaches I would expect a lot of outdoor scenes, people having fun, etc... because if it was all filmed on a soundstage, what was the point of filming in Los Angeles? Also, not a single leak of a pic of JK on set anywhere soooo hmmm...

The actor Han Sohee is supposedly very popular and edgy and I would imagine her fanbase and his will dovetail perfectly and the MV will be a match made in marketing heaven. The contact may have been made through Tae and his actor network. We don't know.

... and sorry, this won't be a p*rno film where they will be doing the nasty... no matter how much the homophobes think it will be. I mean... seriously? JK? Who had to get over his bashfulness of posing for cameras with no shirt under his Calvin Klein denim jacket?

He also explained his album process is one where he is still working out what his colors and voice are. Which tells me he is much like Jimin in that though he is part of BTS, his central being is not creating the music but performing it. I hope he learns a lot from this process and is able to express his colors and voice to his satisfaction.

He talks about "resting" for so long and how much he really enjoyed this lengthy personal time. Back in February when people were sounding the alarm that he was being held back and forced to stop work... welll... he just said he chose to be a lump on the couch for a long time and apologized. DON'T APOLOGIZE KOOKIE! He's been running as BTS since he was a middle schooler, he deserves to be a lazy lump, JUST LIKE THE LAZY LUMPS EVERY ONE OF YOU ARE WHO JUDGE HIM AND HIS CHOICES ALL THE TIME.

He says the song Seven came about after a meeting with Bang PD and he heard the song and said MINE! I can't wait to see what Kookie did. I suspect this is the song he was recording when we saw this:

They always try to show "a different side" of themselves in their work. Their photo shoots have run the gamut of concepts. But Jungkook has indulged in tattoos and piercings for a few years now, experimenting first with the fake studs on his eyebrows before plunging in (literally) with a real eyebrow piercing.

You look like a cuddly bunny? Like a sweetie? Cuz you are?

His desire to be less "round" and more "sharp" is intriguing. Edgy is what I believe he's going for. His personality is edgy but perhaps not in the way he perceives "edgy" to mean. So he wants an outward appearance of edgy: tattoos, piercings, the whole motorcycle aura thing which reminds me, when are we going to see him straddling one of the bikes he supposedly owns?

A TMI: he just had an English lesson earlier. He says the order is difficult and I know exactly what he's talking about. The sentence structure of English and Korean are not the same. English is subject-verb-object, example: Dogs eat kibble. Korean is subject-object-verb: Dogs kibble eat. Also, English past/present/future participles are HARD for those learning English. The brain has to do some mental gymnastics in translating. Takes a lot of practice. He's very good at reading English and pronouncing what he reads. I suspect his struggles with English are conversational English and vocabulary. Not only do you have to recall the correct words to say what you want, you have to construct grammatically correct sentences as the words leave your mouth and its really hard to do that. I am certain he 100% understands English when it is spoken to him.

Another TMI: he had been at the company earlier, and ate buckwheat noodles...

I feel the need to further explain some misleading terminology people are constantly throwing around... not all noodles are "ramen" or "ramyeon". I already explained the difference between "ramen" as Japanese style and "ramyeon" as Korean style but ramen/ramyeon noodles themselves are made of wheat. When Jimin was asked specifically about did he go to Jungkook's for ramyeon, and he said no, he has not been to Jungkook's for ramyeon... but perhaps he's been there for buckwheat noodles which are gluten-free and are what JK used in that last dish he posted a pic of on Weverse. We already know JK has been told to lay off the gluten.

Anyway... back to JK.

He explains his 20/4 intermittent fasting. Some call it the "warrior diet." No eating for 20 hours and then a 4-hour window to eat. This type of eating pattern may impact metabolism and glycemic levels in your blood. If he's been told to lay off the gluten, this type of eating pattern may also be a way of controlling certain levels of blood chemistry throughout the day, especially if he's also working out. The timing of the eating pattern also makes a difference and what you eat during the four hours also impacts the effectiveness. That's all I know about it. Just keep in mind, all the members have a staff of professionals helping them stay healthy and when they say "diet" they don't mean they have eating disorders or are doing anything extreme that would hurt their health, they are following the advice of their trusted professional staff. Jungkook says his eating window is from about 7-8 pm until midnight or so.

After going on for a minute or two about how awesome yet cute Yoongi is, he says he wants to be like that, play instruments and sing and dance and be awesome too but...

I'm only 18 minutes into this 1 hour 50 minute live...

My explanation to Jungkook: there is a complex war of wills happening in the comments where different factions of the fandom attempt to impose control over each other using the "report" function in the live chat. And that some comments, seemingly innocent of motive, "touch your hair", "touch your nose", "make a funny peace sign with both hands", are actually an attempt to coerce you into sending secret hidden signals to those watching in order to confirm that you are half of a "hidden" couple within the group and that you are being controlled and forbidden from living your life freely. These hand gestures (that only they know) and the places on your face that you touch are being intercepted and analyzed and fed into a software program as you speak so that these idiots ... conspirators ... dumbasses um, individuals, can prove their baseless ... ridiculous ... disrespectful ... selfish ... uh ... their fantasies are real. For real. Don't laugh. Ok go ahead and laugh because that's everyone's first impulse.

But for real, stop fiddling with your new piercing because it might get infected if you are constantly touching it with your fingers.

Ive been shying away from drawing/writing anything with fake peppino bc frankly ur right; there IS so much going on with him 😭 so much so that it almost feels impossible to settle on something concrete 😭 This is also bc I link Fake Peppi and Pizzahead together, which means I also have to work on characterizing that punk 😭😭😭 But I will still try to get my thoughts out

(OKAY THIS IS REM FROM THE FUTURE OR PAST OR SOMETHING AND IM HERE TO SAY THAT I RAMBLED SO FUCKING LONG THAT I DIDNT EVEN GET TO THE ACTUAL ASK OF THIS FUCKING ASK!!! Fake Peppino is Not the first clone; hes one of the Last ones Pizzahead worked on. The ones you see in the war level are the closest, appearance wise, to Peppino, but they arent the brightest and will often behave like [insert test subject] but with Peppinos face on it. The emphasis on appearance first resulted in some physically identical, but otherwise, dull witted clones.

Fake Peppi was the first attempt at replicating Peppinos actual personality over appearance and it works moderately well, its just that. Hes a little funky lookin. Which is okay! Its the first attempt !! He’ll get more time to try again! They give Fake Peppi a little run down shop to manage (that he almost immediately converts into a pizzeria) while they work on perfecting the clones. But then Peppino actually storms the tower after being threatened w the Pizzeria Begone Beam, and hes tearing through portals so quickly that Pizzahead literally has No Time to try and work on these new clones. Fake Peppi is the First of this new experimental line of clones, and hes one of the Last. (Said bc i do intend on making my own little peppi clone someday heehee)

Fake Peppi passes as a pretty Normal creature. Hes a bit Tall but not absurdly above average. I drew him pretty goopy and lanky on my first (and only ) attempt at drawing him, but the more i think about it, the more I want him to just be a taller, slightly offputting Peppino. I like the idea someone had of Fake Peppi mimicking the stylized, cartoonish logo design of the pizzeria, so hes got a bit of a doofy lookin face. Its very round, with soft looking eyes and permanent blush on his cheeks. When hes trying to look Less Scary (bc he is a bit aware now that hes a little Off), you can see his mouth on his face like a Normal person. When hes relaxed and/or unfocused, it kind of just. Disappears. It makes his face look kind of like a little butt or a peach heehee

Fake Peppi acts pretty similarly to Real Peppino. Hes quick to anger, and quick to frighten. Hes a bit of a goof and he likes to entertain (which completely threw pizzahead off; hes like thats. Not right? Is it??). He has more or less the same mental capacity as Peppino, shares similar skills and hobbies, and enjoys the same kinds of food that Peppino does (with mild variation). Hes very relaxed and easygoing with a tendency to act a fool and be a little playful, which leads Pizzahead to believe that despite what hes personally seen (from stalking this poor man), Peppino is Also inherently a bit of a fool and a little playful and also capable of being relaxed and easygoing.

Fake Peppi is prone to the same kind of anxiety and panic attacks that Peppino has, only he does not have decades of experience with them to know how to manage it. So the time he spends with Pizzahead is Not the smoothest. The combination of Just Being Created and having Crippling Panic Attacks leaves him with an almost Blank Slate, memory wise, by the time hes left with the pizzeria. When Pizzahead visits Fake Peppi again to give him the lift key; hes basically a stranger to him :0

(Peppino tries to help with some grounding techniques for panic attacks, but since they Both default to self soothing stims, hes not that much help 😭)

Conversations are as smooth as they can be with his garbled speech; he can understand what hes being told, and he will write down what he Wants to say with pen and paper. Eventually, he ‘upgrades’ to a phone with proper text to speech, so he uses that quite often. I know the backwards speech is canon (or at the very least extremely popular) but its very hard for me to read and parse in my head, so i am deciding against that 😭

Hes hard to understand bc despite having a similar vocal pitch to Peppino (a bit high), it rubberbands in a way that makes it sound incredibly croakey and scratchy. The more excitable he is, the more incoherent he becomes. Overall Fake Peppi is Peppino with enough variance to give him his own personality. Some of the things he does shines a bit of a light on Peppinos personality; its like, if Peppino DIDNT have to struggle with a failing business and crippling debt and being drafted into a fucking war, what kind of Peppino would you get? I dunno... I'm not saying you don't make good points but fizz during "2 minutes notice", (a number where he was free to say whatever he wanted, act however he wanted, literally ripping off his costume to destroy his perfect brand image) still acted quite raunchy and sexual. Shaking his ass, smacking his ass, sensually stroking his stomach, all with a huge smirk on his face. If the lust act was a total ruse, I don't think he'd be doing any of that?

I mean yeah and that was one of the points though. Did it not come across. It feels like he kept switching between “I don’t like being sexualised” to doing it without even being asked to. Earlier in the episode he’s acting very differently saying he doesn’t like the dolls and he admits to mammon that he doesn’t want fans looking at him in that way. But he loves it at lust? Viv also said the performance at Ozzies isn’t the real him the baby girl persona at Ozzies home is. Even though….we see that he uses charm to hide things from Oz and cute faces to get his way. And with blitzø he’s much less performative because he doesn’t need to be charming, but the other extreme is true, he is putting on his nastiest front to protect himself against someone he thinks is out to get him.

Again this is why I wish we could see him talk to someone from his past who always knew him in the “back stage” someone who he trusts and who he doesn’t try to charm/scare away. But who? 🙁

Also I’m sorry but “keep that guy far away from me” way back in Ozzies wasn’t the foreshadowing masterpiece everyone claims it is. A fan having four of the things he just advertised doesn’t mean he hates the product and doesn’t want anyone sexualising him except for Ozzie. That means the stage persona doesn’t have any authenticity behind it. Also, the in universe “fandom” immediately goes from sexualising fizz to sexualising “fizzarozzie” the pairing. The fact these same fans who made him uncomfortable and bought the dolls all knew he was with Oz the whole time isn’t actually wholesome at all? Maybe include fans of the dolls crying or something? There’s always some stans who get upset at a reveal like that, while others are happy. The audience should have at least been a mixed bag.

Also maybe I’m going off topic but the fandom insert was a…strange choice,, the definition of fan-service, unless what they’re maybe trying to do is build up to make commentary on how fans of celebs, shipping real life people that are dating, makes a celebrity couple uncomfortable and pressured to share more of their personal lives than they want to. And to create a “couple persona” just for the cameras. That’s not something I see touched on much and it’s kinda Bojacky sorta. Just imagine the two of them being interviewed by the press then it’s accidentally revealed that they were talking to Oz and a fizzbot, while the actual fizz is in the Bahamas.

Basically fizz is juggling personalities and id like if he could, yknow, pick one. Kinda like Loona, Stolas, and apparently, Millie in that regard.

Hey! I have some questions that i would like to get an indigenous persons perspective on though I'm not sure how much I can fit in an ask. But basically it pertains to me wanting to write twilight fanfic but being vastly uncomfortable with how the Quileute are depicted, their culture & history misused, appropriated etc etc. Personally i would prefer to just like...make up a fake tribe? And do my research on what to avoid. But I want to know if that's like a big no-no, or if there's a different way you think I could go about it. Or if you know anyone who mayhaps could if you don't? I don't want to just use & rehash that Bullshit S.M. did. So yeah, thoughts/advice/etc? TIA, if you don't feel like answering no worries!

Personally, I think that's a big no-no & a lot of other Natives would also probably say the same. I think it's a rather lazy solution & cop out for writing, because people often assume "what I write & worldbuild for this group can't be racist because they don't exist and I don't have to worry about appropriating beliefs, research, or writing inaccurate information about a specific tribe because I made them up". Inventing fictional tribes & inserting them into the real world (or stories that are close to irl & our world) is super duper iffy for me, & the only time it doesn't make me feel weird is for like fantasy worlds. It kinda reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Lisa decides to write an essay on the plight of Native Americans, but instead of writing about any actual tribe & their issues, she just makes one up. & obviously people can use this in gross ways, like brushing off any criticism of possible racism as "its fictional so it doesn't matter" while also still potentially acceptinf praise for writing a fictional tribe sympathetically or even at all.

I find that people just inventing tribes doesn't even dodge being offensive anyway, because they either STILL end up writing something racist (because of lack of effort and research or failing to recognize how their worldbuilding may be offensive despite being fictional, staring at YOU GRRM writing Dothraki), or it's just weird how they COULD have represented an actual tribe & clearly spent a lot of time in research, & the effort (& resources available) might even have been easier just focusing on an actual tribe & writing THAT accurately, but they just. Didn't.

A similar thing happened irl in different medias as well, where the character Night Wolf in Mortal Kombat was originally a stereotyped character with (afaik) no specified tribe, but over the years the games decided to build upon him more & make him less offensive, such as making him specifically Lakota & having his character designs, spiritual beliefs, dialogue, motivations, and backstory reflect this. Except later they retconned this & changed his heritage to a fictional tribe called the "Matoka", even though they literally didn't need to, & they were headed in the right direction. Mortal Kombat has also established there's people and characters from OUR world or the "normal" world and not just AU Earth (like Rambo), so they literally didn't need to do this under the reasoning that Mortal Kombat already has its own fictional world and universe. I think they did this, again, so they wouldn't have to put in effort in making sure their writing of his backstory and character in the future was accurate & inoffensive to Lakota people.

The exact same thing happened with the Native characters in Red Dead Redemption 2; the Native characters in the first game are largely either enemies you have to kill, or the Noble savage that you help out, with no specified tribe(s) & a stereotyped "Indian" look. But in the sequel, they made up the fictional tribe "Wapiti" (the word itself actually being a Shawnee word), who speak the Lakota language & largely seem to be heavily Lakota coded. Some people might disagree with me on this one because the Wapiti aren't the only ones who get this treatment in rdr: for the most part the rest of the world is also like an alternate universe for the United States, with places like Saint Denis being analogous for New Orleans, Sisika penitentiary being based on Louisiana state penitentiary, and so on. But there's also mentions & incorporations of real life places & ethnicities that are the exact same too, like the island of Tahiti, Cuba, and Ireland. So if we acknowledge there's the Native Tahiti population, and Irish characters from Ireland like Sean MacGuire, then why not also just say the Wapiti are Lakota? If they wanted to make the Native characters more sympathetic & accurate to rectify the wrongs of the first game (which I think they largely did!), and they even went so far as to have their Wapiti characters speak Lakota in-game, based most of their culture and looks on the Lakota, then why not just make them Lakota?

But even if you mean well, I feel like the lore and location of Twilight is too tied up with the Quileute to just try and change it to a completely different tribe, and would be erasing them in order to just dodge potential offensiveness. The Quileute are Native to Forks, Washington & that's THEIR land, not a fictional tribe. Stephanie straight up stole the Quileute mythology as a main plot point for her characters and worldbuilding, so you'd still be using Quileute beliefs but applying it to a fictional tribe (just like with the Night Wolf & Wapiti situation) anyway. If you intend on doing a lot of research in order to try make this not offensive, I'd say it'd be even more worth the effort to just research Quileute history etc because you'd essentially be putting in the same amount of effort in anyway. Like, there's already an established tribe, why not just use it? I'd say do what Stephanie Meyer SHOULD have done and just portrayed the Quileute respectfully with research & Native sensitivity readers instead of taking what is seen as the "easy" way out.

I once heard the opinion that the zutara fandom (the loudest and most toxic part of it, of course, we are not talking about normal people who just enjoy their ship) has features of cultist, sectarian thinking and organization. I haven't thought about it much, but recently a friend of mine who understands quite a lot about cults and sects and to whom I showed the most popular zutara blogs and their meta tags here, tumblr (I didn't push him on this idea, we were just chatting about fandoms) said that according to the type of thinking zutara's fandom has features of a religious cult. this thought seemed interesting to me. what do you think about it?

I'd say it's true, but it does not apply solely to Zutara, or even to the ATLA fandom.

I lost count of how many times I've seen some legit insane news here in Brazil about angry fans of some soccer team violently beating, or straight up murdering, people that were wearing the "wrong" t-shirt after a game.

Harry Potter had the weird thing with the Snape wives, and now has the current cult-like TERF bullshit JK Rowlling encourages on a daily basis.

One of my cousins is VERY into K-pop and told me some WILD shit about some idols literally have to sign contracts that forbid them from dating (or at least publicly dating) anyone because half of the marketing around their persona is "You, regular person, could totally date them!" and faced some ABSURD backlash, including death threats towards them and their partners, when they were revealed to be in a relationship.

Anything, no matter how mundane, can be used by some disturbed people to excuse/encourage awful behavior. It's usually a result of desperate, lonely people needing to find ANYTHING that makes them feel like they belong, are part of a group, of a community, to the point that they shut off from anything else and become obsessed. That kind of thing has always existed, but BOY, has the internet made it sooooooooooo much worse.

I mean, seriously, just look at the things the "extreme" zutara fans do.

Creating whole conspiracies to justify why their was totally canon until some evil authority screwed it over, lying about anything and everything that happened both in canon and in the making of the show, even going as far as creating fake "evidence" of some huge power struggle between Bryke and other writers (mainly Ehasz).

Harrassing, bullying, doxxing and threatening anyone that has a different opinion, and justifying their actions with "Oh, but the people were doing this to ship Kataang/Maiko, which means they're all raging mysogynists, rape apologists, and 100% against interracial relationships."

The constant claims of "Bryke are creepy pedos because they only pushed Kataang because they are attracted to Katara, a cartoon character, and thus are attracted to real-life 14-year-olds! That's even the real reason why Aang is bald! To look like one of them!" that are not only ridiculous but could EASILY lead to a lawsuit, and ignores the fact that Zutara, like any popular ship, has tons of smut of it even though both characters are underage - make it make sense!

And, of course, the classic "This bad behavior people accused some of us of is completely false! I didn't see it, so it didn't happen! Nobody here would do that! Never one of us! Must have been one of them, the evil fans of kataang/maiko/(insert any ship for either Zuko or Katara here)!"

Some of the bad apples in the Zutara fandom are just entitled assholes, but I'm also pretty sure that some of these people legit need to see a mental health professional. There's being passionate about a ship and being upset that it didn't happen, and then there's being downright delusional.

And before anyone tries to pull the ableism card on me: I've been through this shit. Thankfully I've never reached the point of ever harming anyone in any way, but I was a mentally ill child/teenager that just latched onto the media I liked, and it made it my whole life.

I had full on panic attacks because the power went out and I couldn't watch my favorite TV show, and I'd cry for DAYS when something bad happened to my favorite characters. I legit started showing signs of depression because one of my favorite bands had broken up, to the point that my parents were really fucking scared. I got FURIOUS at an annoying classmate in school who talked shit about my favorite singer, to the point that I legit had to get away from them as fast as humanly possible because I was three seconds away from starting a physical fight - again, all because a random kid whose opinion on literally anything else wouldn't have meant a damn thing to me.

That is not being passionate. That is not being a loyal fan. That is a clear sign that something is VERY wrong and that you need some help FAST. See a therapist, deal with whatever it is that is pushing you to act like that, THEN engage in fandom stuff as much as you want. But don't ever make this your whole personality.

This post comes off as super super duper fakeclaimy, and unknowlegable of a community that is very aware of plurality, almost as much as plural specific communities. Perception of object sentience is a very real thing and saying these things, especially while fully admitting you have little idea on anything related to the community, comes off as just... calling our experiences fake? Like ppl couldn't possibly just have object companions, they must be plural. The informed decision part was almost worse, considering how many posic people are well aware of plurality or plural themselves and how very different it is to view an object as sentient and communicating with you compared to a mind buddy speaking to you loud and clear where you can hear their voices.

Feel very free to delete this or whatever its such a old post but it was just very upsetting to come across as a very posic very plural person who looks up to you.

I apologize if this came off as fakeclaiming. I definitely didn't mean it that way. But I do stand by the informed decision line, plural or otherwise.

If you ask the majority of people in the plural community if it's possible to have headmates that are perceived as being inside physical objects, I believe that most would tell you that it's not. That this isn't plurality.

Worse, if you go to most psychiatrists and tell them that you're hearing voices from stuffed animals, they'll try to diagnose you with a psychotic disorder. Hearing the voices of these objects would probably officially be labeled as a "thought insertion delusion." Even in my own tulpamancy community, while there are tons of guides on achieving various aspects of plurality, I've seen none that have mentioned inhabiting objects despite knowing that it's a thing myself and having experienced it intentionally

In academic literature, I've occasionally ran across one-off lines about how so-called thought insertion delusions are a psychotic symptom that is more common in dissociative identity disorder. Or another about how children may interpret voices of alters as voices from other people, like telepathy.

When I did my first inhabitation test last year, I was fakeclaimed by someone saying that this isn't something systems could do, that it isn't possible to go inside a balloon. (Which, I realize I'm not literally going inside it. It's just the mental representation of myself. But I experience it as if the balloon is me while inhabiting it.)

There is a massive amount of disbelief in these types of experiences in the plural community

A lot of what I've learned about inhabitation has come from listening to other systems talk about their experiences because there are no resources. Some who had headmates that started as physical dolls and plushies like the POSIC community. Some who believed they were telepathically communicating with other people. Many of these are DID or OSDD systems, but some seem to be endogenic as well.

And even the ones who experience it may not talk about it as much because of all the fakeclaimers.

From what I've observed, the POSIC community falls into several camps. And please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. Because you're right. I don't know much about it.

One is a group that believes objects are sentient but with no communication. These are less likely to be plural anyway since it's just a belief without verbal communication.

Another are spiritual POSICs who communicate with these objects directly and believe they're literally separate and sentient being communicating spiritually.

Then there's a third group that views these objects as being something psychological projected from their head. These seem most in-line with plural experiences to me but will often self-diagnose with labels like "delusional companion syndrome" which I worry may be invalidating or harmful for the same reason viewing headmates as delusions often proves harmful for systems.

I will not claim that every person in the above group is secretly plural or that these are all plural experiences. There is way too much about the human brain that we don't understand to make that type of statement.

More than anything, I just want people to know that this is a valid plural experience.

I want the POSIC community to know this. But I also want non-POSIC plurals to know this. And I want singlets who happen to be lurking to know this.

I wrote that line because there are many people who may choose to not identify these as headmates because "headmates can't be perceived as being inside objects" or "headmate voices can't be heard externally" or other misinformed statements.

But as long as someone knows that plurality can manifest in the form of headmates identifying as objects and feeling through those objects, and they still maintain that the objects they speak to aren't headmates, I support that 100%.

Opinion: I really--REALLY--hate how, not just Pregame Shuichi, but all the pregames are portrayed by the fandom. Pregame Shuichi just being a popular example of how crazy the fandom has gotten with their characterizations of these 'blank slates'. It makes me uncomfortable whenever someone portrays Kaede and Kaito as assholes, Kokichi was a precious cinnamon roll, Shuichi as a sexual sad//st that is yandere for Oma, etc. The pregames are either severely ab//sed or ARE the ab//sers

I get it, it's fun to explore the 'dark' side of characters, and the pregames are left up to interpretation/personal headcanons, but it's honestly disturbing that the fandom would glorify themes like this. It says a lot about what the fandom finds attractive and this is the so called 'accepted fanon' we think of

there is only so much you can infer from like, ten-second clips of kaede, shuichi and kaito pregame that might not even be real. and ofc there is the prologue in the game before the fake memories are implated but, like, everyone just seems to be a slightly more toned-down version of their ingame self??

definitely kaede is the biggest departure when we see her in the tapes. she's definitely apathetic and nihilistic, and some people have pointed out she's slightly harsher to shuichi before the fake memories, but... idk. i don't get how people go to 'complete cold bully' from that. shuichi's might be the most major leap - i feel like him mentioning being a fan of the game he's signing up for is not justification for what's been done to his pregame personality, especially the sadistic yandere personality stuff. just kinda seemed to come out of nowhere.

but, okay, let's be fair and look at the flipside. the question of 'what would make people so young, eighteen or so, sign up to volunteer away their lives?' we know the motivation of kaede, kaito and shuichi from the tapes, if they're even real, but i think it can be fun to examine from the perspective of writers. like, it's not a leap to say that if you're signing up to die on live television at age eighteen or so you can't be in the healthiest of places mentally. and then it's not a leap from there to just make up your own personalities based on their actions and ingame selves. idk if anyone's read that reader insert book by invertedphasmagoria on ao3, but on the first page they detail what they imagine to be the pregame character's personalities and why and, yeah, it feeds into a lot of the common stereotypes around the characters and probably even influenced them considering how popular it is.

all this to say. i don't think it's a major leap to assume that the kids aren't, you know, well. considering they're volunteering to die or kill for other people's entertainment. but, you know, there's nothing the danganronpa fandom loves more than character flagellation, and i think people just got extremely carried away and stripped what could've been rich and complex characters down to a few basic tropes, the ones you mentioned of shuichi being an obsessive fan, kaito being an aggressive delinquent, kokichi being a softboy, etc. to the point where some people literally take these as canon and refuse to see the pregame personalities in any other aspect.

idk. many thoughts on this. i think there are worse things that have happened in terms of character assassination but it's definitely a weird thing.

Yeah it's kinda gonna be like watching someone try to stand on an ice rink by the time we come back, watching the inevitable slip and slide of confusion, excuses, and the shallowest of superficial readings come in. or the ones that magically pretend it gets boring right when they finally accept what's happening while it's smashing them in the face over and over.

Expect them to get more and more shrill as their psychic bubble of hallucinations is slowly put through a trash compactor. They'll look for any exit hatch, any hole to hide in, any sideways or backwards reading, they'll screech nothing can mean anything and plots and episodes dont connect, they'll turn over every rock to try to find some kind of word or take they can manipulate into their perspective, and they'll chain these weak pebbles together until the bitter end not realizing that's like, one small section of a huge mountain they're sitting on top of trying to rearrange, because they refuse to adjust perspective.

So yeah. It's gonna be fun just. Don't forget, these narcissists have, in fact, constructed a bubble they're reliant on at least psychologically, and many have come to be physically like the scripthunt mods for free gold passes or whatever. If they face the truth, they've been a villain against the creatives for years, and that's the plot. If they face the truth, they've doxxed fans and spent millions for nothing. They literally have dug their own box and instead of slowing down, they're gonna dig the hole all the way to china instead of learning.

I mean hell. Look at the Confession->Roadhouse-->Omission denialists. Same people. Who are also the Pilot script denialists. Same people. We have dissociative identity disorder.

I don't think people really understand something, so let me explain:

Us, personally (for lack of better wording,) are very Introject heavy due to the nature of our past.

We have source memories more often than not.

This is our past trauma expressing itself in a different way.

And it will never stop being hard to explain to people that you're having a flashback and your throat is closing up over something that "never happened".

It's just as real and traumatic as any other memory. It's still as vivid and horrific.

And they will present themselves very differently. Source memories can be metaphorical, it can be literal. Sometimes a thing literally happened and was presented as a source memory. Sometimes something happened and then was remembered as a completely different source memory.

When has such a complex disorder ever been black or white.

And it isn't our fault we exist.

It isn't our fault if we introjected from a popular media, from our abuser, from a terrible character, from a self insert, a Mary Sue, our grandma, or anybody else.

And it isn't fucking our fault who we are. Some of us cannot disconnect from our source, while others can.

Sometimes it physically and mentally hurts. Like someone telling you and your memories that you aren't yourself and your memories aren't real either. So sorry if some of us have a horrible person that we connected to for whatever reason.

It isn't our fault that we were hurt so bad that our brain had to do this to us just so we could survive.

Well can she please explain if Cole is the Bully why does Cole seem to avoid them and their homes/events for the most part (with sometimes in the past KJ has been an exception). I was also FASCINATED to learn I was then sending rumors to DM, way before I sent the one about GymD cheating (no, I didn't, just saying)...including how Cole and PP were always splitting up during hiatus, but would then reconcile once the show resumed, cuz Pee Arr...AND that other, moar knowledgeable "insiders" had contradicted this, but DM refused to publish it....

Ummm.....dudes, while, yes, we now all KNOW they were, apparently, endlessly splitting up (as confirming by RAS, himself), I am the last person to have everrrrr stated it was remotely "for Pee Arr"....plus, yes, clearly, they did only last as long as they did, because secluded/on the same show/etc (as Cole himself alluded to recently), in no way was it pretend or following any sort of schedule. And we know they spent time together during hiatuses...(unlike the rest of the cast).

AND this was before I even followed DM....and only earlier this AM, I asked how one submits shit there in the first place....

Leverage Redemption Log: The Paranormal Hacktivity Job

Well, guess its time for the plotline that all multi-season shows eventually have to do: Who believes in ghosts/magic/ghost-magic and are they right. Either that or our heroes are going to pretend to haunt a house for reasons unknown. --- ESTABLISHMENT FONT says its 4 days before halloween (which, means its a haloween special...) Shots around the house, pictures on the cabinets, duck-shaped cane. "Aunt Mildred", is it weird that i've never seen a show that had a mildred that wasnt an aunt? Prediction: The mother is doing the haunting (Aunt left the house to the daughter in the will), either that or Aunt Mildred used to be a criminal, got money from a heist stashed in her floor/walls and her old buddies are trying to get the loot by buying the house. (unlikely, generic backstory robbers tend to be less subtle) Note: Whomever is faking the haunting has style, the smoke, the little candles lighting by magic. (I think the blood-mirror is a bit cliché, and also a bit "generically blamefull" with the whole "did it"-non specificity thing) but they get a good... 7/10 for showmanship.

But the house is legit on fire now (whatever is hidden better be gold/diamons and not paper money or stock certificates or these criminals fucked themselves)

Generic Goons 1 and 2 walk away from the scene (Parker was probably preparing to con/heist them before this happened) --- It is now that it springs to mind i havent yet commented on the sequel series new leader/intro thing. I dont mind the smokey-ness, but i think the insertion of playing cards and a time bomb are both really generic ways to get a James Bond-vibe across, and misleading in that i've yet to see a single time bomb in this season, and only 1 episode with any kind of gambling. --- It is now Halloween, and Breanna is to Haloween what Parker was to Christmas.

Parker brings Client here to double-check her read with Sophie who insists that they are definitly not doing any crimes without her.

--- Breanna and Parker investigate (disguised as arson investigators). They find an attendance list from the funeral party/event/whatever-it-is-called, (low attendance)

Breanna is verry disapoint to have to let them tamper with their breakers. --- Newby Conman is the only one to catch on that maybe this is a bit too convenient.

Deke was our Candleman. (I side with Deke, they were a masterstroke. I also agree that they very much backfired and were not worth the investment. But they were a good idea in theory)

The marks have clients ready. they are heavily armed and have blueprints underneath their armorstashes. (prediction: house is alongside the parade-route. This is an assasination on Breanna's favourite politician) --- I dont like the way that the frame came loose (Breanna's computers say its disengaged the "bolts". Which implies they have electronic nuts and bolts. Which is nonsense. Now the frame is said by Deke to be made of iron so i can believe it to be attached to the wall with electromagnets. so the scene works, the presentation of it as being remote-deactivated BOLTS is just weird)

Effects department Comping a skull over Deke when electrocuting him, while a lovely home-alone reference, just looks wrong in this show. --- Good news for Sophie: The assasin lives by the adage "if you're good at what you do, never do it for free".

Our hitman is, unfortunately (for him) extermely superstitious (wears two different saints around his neck). Also interesting that our heroes all know enough about saints they can not only recognise them, but name their relevant domains/patronages. --- Sophie legitimately looks like she wants to adopt Deke into her theatregroup.

--- Hamilton takes a taser to the neck, Crutches are down and its time to start the counter-haunting. --- Oh we're doing the "fake-out murder offscreen before the comercials" thing. (its very clear Sophie realised that Deke didnt have murder in his bones and has convinced him to just get out of this life. She does love herself a good death-scene) --- Hamilton breaks out of the wardrobe he's been stuffed in and just trips face-first into unconciousness (Parker is disapointed she doesnt get to tase him) --- Elliot and Harry at the bar, Elliot is proud of Breanna for her first ever assasin-takedown.

Ok you know what, the executive producer credit being written in blood is legit funny. 10/10 gag.

I've been a fan of jm (and never of bts cuz they literally always bullied him) since 2016 and really disliked jk in the beginning cuz of how he acted with jm. But then i got into the jikook rabbit hole why? Cuz jk actually did change for awhile then. There was palpable change between jikook and jk was following jm's every move etc. I do think jk, as others were, was jealous of jm's success too but during 17-18 you could see him being jealous of jm rather than of jm's success. He inserted himself to anywhere jm was and all the 3j or jinminkook lives etc were because jk was actually actively inserting himself to jm's life. He wanted to be a part of jm's life, know everything abt him etc. Like other anons said jeonlous was a thing cuz how he behaved was really noticeable by everyone. Even as someone who never shipped real ppl I was drawn to watching them closely cuz of how much jm loved him and how weird some of jk's reactions were towards jm compared to others. Thinking about those times feels like a joke now but as you said, like many others by the end of 2018 i thought whtvr there might've been between jikook was getting shattered. Jm was actually really pissy at jk for awhile but back then jk was still following jm around like a puppy. For me 2019 was rocky and when those rumors came i was done with the ship. Shipping wise one thing was definitely true, 2017-2018 jikook was very very close and in sync and while i dont think they were in proper relationship i think they had smth going on whatever that might be. And Jm really brought out the best in jk. And jk or any fans would never admit but i really think jk being able to do videography back then was cuz jm also became like a muse to him. Its ironic that th ignored everyone then and now comes and acts like a bestie to jk and jk feeds into this and also hangs out with him since jm dumped bith their fake asses. Like everyone is sayin tkk are both similar in how fake they are. And jk feels so antipathetic, directionless and lacks any realness. All i know is jm doesnt care abt jk anymore and finally saw the light and saved himself from being 'friends' w someone who was never able to respect him even after all the closeness/memories they shared. Its not only this past year too, jm's boundaries and distance has been pretty evident since 2020 (not only with jk but all of them) and i do think he considers only jhope as his friend out of bts. Jhope used to undermine jm too (and was incrediblu jealous before) but i feel like he saw a true friendship in jm compared to others and both are more genuine in their friendship than before. About the recent live, I do also think jk is bitter as fuck tho cuz why say all that about tattoos when he knows what everyone thought. He had all the time to say all this but never did.
