OKAY. SINCE ANONS SEEM TO BE INTERESTED. HERE IS MY DAWSON’S CREEK 1X01 REVIEW.
@jayciethings IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.
1. I think the opening scene does a good job in establishing the central struggle of the season and it does it in 3 minutes: 1) things need to change and Joey wants them to 2) Dawson doesn’t see why anything has to change and doesn’t see what Joey is trying to say 3) burgeoning sexuality 4) Joey-Dawson friendship.
2. I also think the Joey-Dawson friendship is also established really well and it’s actually a time where dialogue and action work in tandem. They give a brief history/overview of their friendship: “you’ve been sleeping over since you were 7″ “i’ve seen you pick your nose, scratch your butt” while also showing them watch tv, playfight and ultimately end up sleeping in the same bed, like they did when they were 7.
3. I actually don’t find the dialogue as annoying right now.
4. I will forever be angry that they didn’t pay to have the original music with their scenes because Dawson’s Creek is not Dawson’s Creek without “I Don’t Wanna Wait”.
5. “He did it again, he grabbed my ass.” “Like you even have one.” Joshua’s delivery is perfect because it’s resigned and un-offended.
6. “I’m Jen.” “Oh right, the granddaughter from New York.” That actually isn’t clunky. It’s a good way to do exposition.
7. “You look different.” “Puberty.” LOL Joey Whitter sass.
8. Honestly, at least so far, Joey’s behaviour makes sense for a 15 year old girl who is in love with her best friend who doesn’t see her as a sexual being and then has to watch him salivate over The New Girl. No, that isn’t Jen’s fault but sometimes people on this site act like teenagers or adults for that matter don’t have messy and not-so-great emotions/reactions to things. Unless, apparently, they’re men who are rapists and serial killers, then the understanding is boundless.
9. It’s actually refreshing to hear “Mr. Leery” “Mrs. Leery” since teens in shows now just call adults by their first names, which I would NEVER do. I still can’t do that. If I had to address initiumseries’ dad it would be Mr...
10. I also think it’s funny that this dialogue is being made fun of but this kind of cadence and irony is the kind of thing shows go for now -- Riverdale tries to emulate this and I would argue Euphoria tries to do an edgier version of this. Like Nellie insulting Pacey, that kind of tone is what they’re trying to go for with Cheryl.
11. I’ll admit this is more fun than I thought it would be so far.
12.  I LOVE WHAT’S EDGY FOR THE NINETIES. SHE IS IN A SUNDRESS. SETTLE DOWN.
13. “I have it on pretty good authority that mothers have excellent sex.” LOL Pacey, dick move.
14. Renting The Graduate, how on the nose.
15. THEIR CLOTHES ARE SO 90s.
16. The soundtrack pisses me off so much.
17. Oh Dawson. I knew so many self-important, I’m-so-deep-I-like-these-kinds-of-movies or -this-kind-of-music boys in high school. Like I find it so typical that he thinks his obsession with Spielberg would interest Jen.
18. Dawson taking Jen to his studio is like Klaus taking Caroline to sees his drawings.
19. Oh man, I remember being a kid and watching these teen shows with my cousin and seeing how Capeside High School was with everyone on a quad and throwing footballs and being like HIGH SCHOOL IS GOING TO BE LIKE THAT and my cousin just being like
Tumblr media
20. I like how Dawson’s Creek is the whitest show and they still managed to have more Black extras than Gilmore Girls.
21. Dawson and Jen actually have a nice chemistry. But everyone is coming on super strong with Jen and she’s just kind of like, this seems normal.
22. The film teacher is a dick for no reason. I’ve had my fair share of dickish teachers but this is excessive right off the bat.
23. Lol poor Jen, she really is trying with Joey.
24. I like how a status of Joey’s class is the fact that her sister is engaged to a Black man *eye roll*
25. I don’t know of any school where teachers ate in the cafeteria with the students. In my school there were teachers who supervised the cafeteria but that’s it. Wow, I spent like no time in my high school cafeteria.
26. “I’m having a climax issue”
Tumblr media
27.  Tamara, Ms. Jacobs, you should be in jail.
28. I like how this school LOOKS like a school.
29. Ugh, a trans jokes. Ugh, there was so much of that in the 90s.
30. “Nothing has to change. We can talk about anything.” Honestly, from a screenwriting point of view, this is a solid pilot. I remember in a screenwriting class I took, we studied The Social Network and every 10 pages someone calls Zuckerberg either an asshole or a jerk or something in that vein as a way to reiterate a key part of the theme of the movie and while I don’t have the pilot script in front of me, DC does reiterate the theme of the season frequently without it being repetitive.
31. The dialogue isn’t as hyperbolic as I remember tbh. And I’m going to say it again, shows are aiming for this, even the one episode I saw of the Winx Saga, when they try to flirt about mansplaining, when she’s fighting with her mom about how she’s not a feminist, they’re trying for this. But DC manages to make it more natural and it’s because the Core 4 have a charm. Even if you hate Dawson.
32. Who is Dawson’s dad. Is he in something else?
33. No, I just think he looks like Dr. Cox.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
34. Dawson’s rant about sex not being important is hilarious. Yes, Dawson, you’re just pursuing Jen out of intellectual and philosophical desire.
35. I like how Joey is supposed to be a tomboy just because she’s the only girl/woman in Capeside who doesn’t wear a sundress.
36. Poor Jen.
37. Joey is super dramatic, I get that, but I kind of love it because I’m going RELAX but the way I would to a teenager. Like CALM. DOWN. Also “all I do is understand” is something that we needed to see more of before that argument.
38. Dawson, you never ask anyone else any questions about themselves, lol.
39. “How can you say you were just renting a movie??” Pacey is such a fifteen year old and I do wish the show would just ... let him be one? And what I mean by that is Pacey is supposed to be the friend with the edge, the fact that he “pursues” Ms Jacobs is supposed to attest to that fact, it’s framed as taboo and yet they’re presented as being on equal footing, even the way her date moves to grab him out of his seat when the fact of the matter is, he’s a kid, and if the show didn’t actually make the Tamara/Pacey relationship a storyline and made it about another way teenagers have certain idealized perceptions of relationships or apply kid knowledge to adult situations which still makes them kids, it would’ve been interesting too.
40. Dawson is literally dressed in different shades of beige. If that doesn’t say everything you need to know about his character --- which is intentional. But like jfc man.
41. I love that they can’t say “masturbate” so she has to say “walk your dog” I LOVE THE NINETIES.
42. And you know what, after that question was asked, the sheer heartbreak on Joey’s face and the sadness in Dawson’s eyes is done really well.
43. LMAO SO ANGSTY. No one does angst like the 90s.
44.  And legitimately, the ending of this pilot is great screenwriting because a change is noted, the beginning of the episode, Joey does end up staying the night, the end of the episode she leaves because they both realize it’s true that things are changing and yet Dawson answers her question about what time of day he masturbates and to who because they’re still Dawson and Joey. And that’s the way a pilot should be written.
OK. I’ve done it.

The Council
Obi-Wan Kenobi x reader
Word Count: 1.2k
Warnings: insinuation to smut but like barely
Author’s Note: I hope this was what you were looking for! I wasn’t sure what kind of ending you wanted so I just wrote whatever came to mind.
Requested: by anon, Hi can you make a with obi wan where the council finds out about his and y/n relationship please
Summary: the request!
Genre: angst at the beginning but ends in fluff cause I literally cannot write break ups
(not my gif)
Tumblr media
You were way to happy for your day to turn out bad. You had chalked it up to morning after giddiness when you climbed out of bed. Obi-Wan was long gone, returning back to his room so that no one saw him come out of yours at such an ungodly hour. You had gotten dressed with a certain smile on your face, ready to face the day ahead of you.
And honestly you should have seen it coming. You were happy. Something had to go wrong otherwise you’d think it was fake. You had just hoped it would be something simple, like a bad training day or you forgot to grab your lunch or something.
A council member approached you as you walked down the hallway. You recognized him as Windu, a close friend of Obi-Wan on the counsel. You greeted him with a grin.
“Good morning how was you-“
“You need to come with me.” His voice was so harsh that you had to double take. You had spoken to this man before and from what you recall none of your conversations had been this hostile. You wondered briefly what had happened.
“Is something wrong?” Your mind jumped around places and ultimately landed on Obi-Wan. Your heart spiked. Had something happened to him? Was he hurt?
You didn’t even think to worry about your hidden relationship.
Windu didn’t shake his head or give you any indication that Obi-Wan was alright. It hurt you, you felt like he was being purposefully secretive. Your walk to the council was a quick one, your heart rate spiking. When the doors opened you breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of your lover in the middle of the floor. He was alright.
Then your mind finally raced to its final spot and your heart sank. He must have known what was going on at the sight of you as well, understood the two of you hadn’t been careful enough. You had told your Padawan that love and feelings made anyone reckless but you didn’t understand the true meaning of those words until then.
The two of you had spoken of this outcome before. You would both probably be striped of your Jedi status, your padawan, Obi-Wan's spot on the council revoked. You stood beside him, wanting him to comfort you, wanting to comfort him. Fear flashed in his eyes as you looked away from one another.
“I take it you know why you’re here today,” Windu began. You looked across the faces of people you didn’t know, judging your actions. You had only ever been before a few of them at functions, had only spoken to two.
“This has all been a misunderstanding,” Obi-Wan promised. You weren’t sure where he was going with that but you were glad he had spoken before you had to.
“A misunderstanding it is not,” Yoda spoke. Being chastised by Yoda? Not something you had planned for this afternoon. Or ever. You glanced at Obi-Wan and you met eyes. With a silent agreement you both knew to give in. There was no use.
“What are you going to do to us?” you asked. Your voice was breaking a little but you held as strong as you could. You could feel Obi-Wan want to comfort you.
“It’s against the code. The code the two of you agreed to follow when you became Jedi,” a man you didn’t know said. You nodded, taking the consequences full force. You always knew something along these lines would happen one day you just thought you had many years left.
“And breaking the code, as you also know, is forbidden. This is an unlawful area for people of your expertise,” a woman said gracefully. You looked at your hands then back at the council. You had been before them when you became a Jedi and when you gained a padawan.
Your heart hurt at the empty seat where Obi-Wan usually sat pompously. You always made fun of him for that. Now it just made you sad.
“We understand,” you said. Yoda looked between a few people and you waited for the hammer to fall. You nearly just handed them your lightsaber so you could leave and cry.
“However,” Windu breathed. Your eyes shot up and then landed on Obi-Wan who was also gaining your reaction. He didn’t seem to know what was going on either. “And you must know there are a few who are adamantly against this in other cases but are willing to bend some rules here.” Your heart lurched. You told yourself not to hope.
“Stay together you must,” Yoda finally said. Your heart bested quickly as you waited for an explanation. You could feel your body shaking.
“What Master Yoda is trying to say is that we’ve known about this for about a month now. I don’t know how much longer it’s been going on but when Obi-Wan stumbles in late without an agenda we got naturally worried.” Some people chuckled but you weren’t laughing. You needed him to finish. “And he is a gifted and needed part of our counsel, along with his young padawan Anakin. And as for you Y/N, I don’t think your padawan would ever get along without you as well as many classes that you teach here. You’re two of our best pilots and highly skilled at the arts. We’d hate to see you go.”
A mantra in your head started.
Just say it, say it, say it.
“We have elected to let you know of our knowledge as to tell you that we are allowing it to continue.” You practically fell into Obi-Wan's arms but you held yourself together.
“In the hopes you don’t flaunt it,” another man said. You nodded and felt your emotions getting the best of you.
“Of course. Of course. Thank you so much, truly,” you said through a smile you tried to hide.
“Yes, this means a lot to us. We owe you,” Obi stated.
“We know. You may be going on more missions later along with conjoined sessions. You’ll surely die if it doesn’t work out,” another man said. “You may leave.” You both turned on your heels, practically running out of the doors. You were stopped by Yoda speaking.
“Very good partners you are. Perhaps too much force your children will have.” You flushed and nodded at him with a loopy smile.
“We shall have to wait and see,” Obi-Wan said cheekily. You hit him but he continued to follow you out the doors as they shut behind you. Your smile remained all the way down the hall before you arrived at his room, bursting with giggles.
“We could have kissed in the hall you know. We can do that now,” you told him as he took your face in his hand. He rolled his eyes.
“We can do many things now that we have permission.” You raised an eyebrow and kissed him. He kissed back and for once, the forbidden aspect was gone.
You woke to him by your side, no longer having to leave in the midst of the night. You smiled.

The Long Haul: Chapter 3 (Felix Millstone x The Captain)
Chapter 1 Chapter 2
Tumblr media
My vision faded back in, the colors around me nearly blinding me as I struggled to focus. “Captain!” Parvati’s voice sounded muffled, but her second cry of, “Captain, wake up!” was much sharper, and I shook my head a little, trying to rid myself of the haze that clouded my thoughts. My fingers brushed my gun, and as they clutched it, reality rushed into focus. Parvati was facing down three angry Primals, and Felix… he lay among the scattered corpses of the creatures and my heart clenched, adrenaline rushing through my veins. I stepped forward, planting my feet, and began to fire, barely feeling the kick of the shotgun in my hands. Between the two of us, we felled the remaining primals in just a minute, which felt like an eternity with the thought of Felix limp on the grass quickly overwhelming all the thoughts in my aching head. As soon as the last beast fell, I ran back to him, dropping to my knees in the grass.
He was breathing, thank God, but his breaths were slow and shallow, a long gash torn through his armor and into his side. The moment I peeled back the material, my fingers were covered in blood, and I could scarcely see the injury itself beneath the mess. “Fuck, this is bad,” I muttered. I was fighting the rising panic as hard as I could, but I felt so helpless, it was nearly impossible to rein it in. I took a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down and form a plan. “Parvati, help me get him up. We need to get back to the ship as fast as we can.”
“Got it.”
I slid an arm under Felix’s upper back, sitting him up part way, cringing at the rush of new blood flowing over his clothes, and Parvati grabbed him from the other side. Together we hauled him upright, and began to jog toward the road, his feet dragging and bouncing behind him. His dead weight was awkward and unwieldy, but I hardly noticed the burning in my muscles as we made for the ship as quickly as we could. I glanced at him, and he hadn’t seemed to have stirred at all. His face was deathly pale, his head lolling limply as we ran.
We hadn’t been far from the ship when the attack happened, but it felt like an agonizingly long time to get back. As soon as the door opened, I was shouting for Nyoka, my voice coming out ragged and panicked. Nyoka had to know what to do. She had been a hunter long enough to know how to deal with a goring.
Her feet pounded down the steps as we set Felix down inside the door. She dropped next to him, already reaching for her knife to cut away the cloth around the wound. “What happened?” she asked tersely, fingers moving adeptly around the gash.
“Primal,” I said.
“Get us to town,” she said. “We need a doctor.”
I nodded, grateful for his welfare to be taken out of my hands for just a moment. It was too precious for me to protect, too big a responsibility.
I ran to the cockpit, pressing buttons with still-bloodied fingers. The ship rose, and I closed my eyes for a moment, the headache I had been ignoring forcing itself to my attention with its throbbing intensity, so strong it made stars pop behind my closed eyelids. Then I had to take over for the automatic takeoff, and I was piloting us toward Edgewater. My landing was rough in its speed, but I got us there. “How’s he doing?” I asked Nyoka as I helped her lift him to get him out of the ship.
“Hanging in,” she said. “He lost a lot of blood. It’s not looking too good.”
I didn’t have an answer for her words, still trying to force my calmness as Parvati flitted ahead of us to open the door.
When we reached the small doctor’s office and Felix was literally and figuratively out of my hands, I finally felt tears begin to prickle at the backs of my eyes, and I looked away from what was left of my crew, blinking rapidly until I could control myself again. I felt Nyoka’s arm wrap around my shoulders, and she gave my arm a reassuring squeeze. “He’s tough, Rose. If anyone can make it through this, he can.”
I nodded, and straightened my shoulders a little, trying to pull myself together. I was supposed to be the captain and I had damn well better start acting like it. “Parvati, what happened exactly?”
“Well, after you cracked your head, the Primals attacked. We were doing all right at first, and Felix especially was protecting you real well. But there were a lot of them, and I lost a little ground, but Felix just stood right over you and kept fighting them, well, until one got past him, and it slashed him real bad. He kept shooting, but then he went down. He passed out right before you started waking up.”
I nodded slowly. My stress and concern for Felix were overwhelming, but the idea of Felix protecting me like that made me feel warm inside. He had protected me before all else, putting my life before his. Without a question, I’d rather I die than him, but his sacrifice for me meant more than I could ever hope to express. We’d all risked our lives for each other before, but this was different - he had let himself go down before he let me go. The thought made my chest tighten and my eyes grow wet again. “Thank you for holding them off, Parvati,” I said, and my voice wavered a little, but she didn’t show any reaction to it, just giving me a small, encouraging smile. She knew me well enough to know when I didn’t want my emotions acknowledged. “If it weren’t for you, we’d all be dead.”
“It’s just the same as you would do for us,” she said. “Now, why don’t we get something for your head? It must be hurting something fierce.”
***** The medication the doctor’s assistant procured for me made my thoughts a little fuzzy and my mind a tad drowsy, but those side effects helped keep me calmer as we waited for the doctor to finish with Felix. I leaned my head back against the wall in the waiting room, letting the coolness from the stone sink into my skin. It had been over an hour now. My fingers picked idly at a loose thread on my pants.
At the sound of footsteps, I sat up straighter, and the doctor emerged from the room he had taken Felix into, a bloodied apron over his lab coat. I stood, hands clenching automatically at my sides. “Well?” I asked.
“He’s in rough shape,” the doctor said. “We almost lost him several times. But I expect him to make it through.”
The tension I hadn’t fully realized I was holding released suddenly, my shoulders slumping and my jaw loosening.
“So what happens now?” Nyoka asked.
“Now, he rests. Here, if you can afford it,” the doctor said.
“Staying here is what’s best for him?” I asked.
“Yes; it’s better not to move him.”
“Whatever it costs, I’ll pay you,” I said. “Can I see him?”
“He won’t be much company; he’s anesthetized on top of being knocked out. But feel free,” the doctor said.
“Thank you.” I passed him, entering the short hall and opening the door to Felix’s room.
He was on the bed, tucked beneath covers, his face under the oxygen mask nearly as pale as the white blanket. He looked nearly dead, but as I watched, I could see the gentle rise and fall of his chest as he breathed. I grabbed the chair from the corner of the room and pulled it closer to the bed as Nyoka and Parvati entered the room behind me.
“He’s a lucky bastard,” Nyoka said. She stood over the bed for a moment, looking down at his peacefully sleeping face. “Knowing him, he’ll be back on his feet in no time.”
I chuckled. “The hardest part will be keeping him in bed long enough to get better.”
“He’s not out of the woods yet.” The doctor’s voice joined our conversation as he stepped into the room. “There are still things that could go wrong - infection, for one. We’ll keep a close eye on him and hope for the best.”
“Thank you, Doctor.” Outside, the sun was beginning to set, the warm orange light casting a more lively glow across Felix’s face. I sat down in the chair I had pulled up and looked up at Nyoka and Parvati. “You two should get some dinner. I’m going to stay here tonight, but there’s no reason you shouldn’t sleep in your own beds.”
“We’ll bring you food!” Parvati offered, but I shook my head.
“I don’t have any appetite. But that’s sweet of you.”
“All right, Captain,” Nyoka said. “Let us know if anything happens.” “Will do.”
Soon after they left, the rays of the evening sun grew near-blinding, and I crossed the room to close the shutters. Then I sat on the edge of Felix’s bed, gazing at his calm face. I reached up, cupping his cheek in my hand, my thumb stroking the soft skin next to his nose. In his sleep, his head turned just slightly into my touch, and I sat there, not wanting to move, for several long minutes.
The anxiety in the pit of my stomach had settled a bit. I wouldn’t be able to fully relax until Felix had recovered. But at least I knew I wouldn’t lose him yet.

21 Supernatural Questions
I was tagged by @deletingpoint - thanks for the kind words, girl!! Made my day! You rock the block! And yes don’t mind if I do join in, this looks fun. :P
1. When did you start watching Supernatural?
I’d seen stray episodes before - I’ve absolutely no clue which ones - but then I binged S1-6 in 2013 while being ill with the flu and I was hooked before it came up, because I loved S1-3 and the brother dynamic and thought it was a really awesomely well-written piece of television, but when they introduced the will-they-won’t-they-make-this-uber-masculine-guy-be-into-guys-and-specifically-the-guy-with-wings I was pretty much gone for. So I caught up on the show and watched it until a few episodes into S9 (don’t judge me, I was surface watching and couldn’t get with the program at the time because why wasn’t Dean gay already??) and then I quit watching for a few years because I couldn’t stand the grey area and the uncertainty. I also wasn’t invested enough to stand it, tbh, and felt, naw, I’ll get back to this if it ever seems like they’re actually gonna do anything with this thing they’re hinting so strongly at. Picked it back up while S12 was airing and here we now are.
2. Who is your favorite in TFW?
But the other two might get jealous!
(okay, it’s Cas)
3. Who is your least favorite in TFW?
They’re the holy trinity and none of their character progression works without all of them taking up their allotted space in the narrative and how can you not love them all what is wrong with this question why am I hyperventilating why aren’t they beloved equally gaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh
(but Cas is my favourite)
4. Tag your top 5 Supernatural blogs!
I sincerely can’t, but I can tag a few people whom I very much appreciate and whose answers to this questionnaire I would be intrigued to see: @godshipsit @charlie-minion @mad-as-a-box-of-frogs @waywardliliana @natmoose @purgatory-jar @myed89 @inacatastrophicmind @rustling-pages @angelneedshunter @nerdylittleshit @obsessionisaperfume @assbuttboyfriends @misskittyspuffy @starsinursa @postmodernmulticoloredcloak @casismybestfriend @mittensmorgul @elizabethrobertajones  - you’re all like bursts of colour and glitter glue and I’m happy you’re around! :) (btw I always find it awkward to tag specific peeps because there are so many of you lovelies that I would honestly tag so just know that this most likely includes you) (yeah that’s right) (YOU) <3
5. Who is your favorite character (not including TFW)?
Jack
6. Who is your favorite woman in Supernatural?
Rowena
7. John or Mary?
Mary
8. What were your first opinions of Sam, Dean, Cas, and Jack?
Sam: my first impression of him was very coloured by my impression of Jared as Dean on Gilmore Girls, so to hear someone call Jared Sam and then this Sam call someone else Dean was a bit jarring while watching the pilot. My earliest opinion of Sam was that he was kind, good with people, skilled, independent and, yes, haunted by past choices.
Dean: Immediate impression was oh, he’s one of those guys, and then almost straight away that first impression was blown to bits and everyone knows that he’s very, very easy to fall in love with quickly, so my love for him grew strong within a few episodes, for sure. First opinion formed holds until this day: someone who’s lost and who’s searching for a way home. In every sense of that sentence.
Cas: Holy shitballs, who’s this now?? was pretty much my first reaction to Cas’ entrance. It blew me away. It was an absolute game changer. It made me sit up. It made my brain go... are they... are they going to make Dean Winchester... is Dean Winchester into men?? And because on my first watch I’d not seen the little hints of this that now are so damn glaringly obvious, the chemistry between Dean and Cas literally made a lot of shit click into place for me regarding what I was potentially actually watching, and raised my emotional investment sky high considering the possible social commentary baked into the overall message of family and identity, and yeah, that still holds true to this day.
Jack: I was ready to fight tooth and nail for him after 12x19. That episode is still one of the best 42 or so minutes of television I’ve ever seen. The plant of Jack as a needed push for Cas’ progression hit me in the heart, and once it clicked that Jack represented the holy trinity of Heaven, Hell, Humanity, and how he might narratively prove a knitting point for TFW, something for them all to rally around, well, I was pretty much done for.
9. What’s your favorite season?
This is a really hard question because watching a season from start to finish means taking all of it in, and all of them - when start-to-finished - I feel are rather outstanding, but twist my arm and I’ll say: S1 or S4 or S5 or S8 or S9 or S11 or S13 (I can’t narrow it down to just one season alright?) and S14 and looking at what we have so far with this unfinished season I’d name S15, definitively.
10. What’s your least favorite season?
Oh, man. Make a girl sweat. So, here’s the thing, I genuinely see each season as adding something valuable to the whole, you know? I suppose S6 drags a bit, but I really like the tone and the noir sensibility of it, so I wouldn’t really call it my least favourite, but if I were to choose one season to binge over a weekend, S6 wouldn’t necessarily be first pick.
11. Opinions on Destiel?
Ah, yes, the obligatory essay question. Please see attachment. *points to blog*
12. Do you believe Supernatural queerbaits?
Look, to my mind, the reason Dean and Cas aren’t together yet is character related. They need to get their fucking ducks in a row. (and then those ducks will hopefully be fucking all over the place) (okay that’s graphic bird sex but you know what I mean) (not literally Dean and Cas dressed up as ducks and fucking) (but like... good stuff for the eyes will be happening that isn’t necessarily fucking feather related) (wait) (oh ffs brain!!) (you HAD to go there didn’t you??) (moving on) (or rather answering the question) --> I don’t believe they queerbait, no.
13. Seasons 1-7 or 8-14?
8-15x03
14. Favorite villain (plot wise)?
Tumblr media
*chills are multiplying*
I love Chuck as the Big Bad, sincerely, but oh mannnn Michael.
15. Do you think they should end the Lucifer plot line?
Yeah, this questionnaire has been in drafts for a while now so um... I mean, the Lucifer plot line as it pertains to SAM should reach a satisfactory conclusion, but as it pertains to Lucifer’s play for Jack and breaking God’s toys etc. yeah, no, done.
16. Who do you think has gone through more trauma (Sam, Dean, or Cas)?
That’s too relative to their highly linked, and yet wholly individual relationship with their past and lingering sense of trauma. I think @deletingpoints reply was something along the lines of: Can you measure trauma? And I agree. They’ve all been deeply traumatised at different stages of their life and they’ve all dealt with their individual trauma in different ways.
17. What’s your favorite Supernatural episode?
I’m sorry, what? I thought you just asked me to pick one favourite episode out of 3678916236363487236783 times infinity. This is mathematically impossible and since I’m sadly not fluent in math and have absolutely no access to any type of calculator or abacus or, I don’t know, a neighbour who happens to make amazing fucking latte and dresses in knits and is attractive in a non-conventional way and also happens to be a math genius, I must reject the question outright and plead the 105th. (i.e. I cannot possibly)
18. Do you like case episodes?
Where’s that gif of Dean going Dude Yes?
Tumblr media
^^^
19. Who do you relate most to in TFW?
Darling Cas. Socially awkward and lost but growing into his own skin Castiel. My God, I love him so dearly. There are not words for how much I relate to him, or for what he’s done for my personal self-reflection, or how much I’m now re-relating to his need to push himself out of his comfort zone and dare. I owe him. *hugs into oblivion*
20. Why do you like Supernatural?
Ohhhhh, goody, one of those multi-choice questions. Is it:
a) because of the absolutely stunning character journeys
b) because of the absolutely smashing world and all its mythology
c) because of the underlying social commentary and the intricate use of subtext to effectively, though subtly, bring ideas linked to the conscious/unconscious sides to us into not only the use of already mentioned mythology, influencing the world building, but also wholly guiding, impacting and giving momentum to the already mentioned stunning character journeys
d) all of the above
e) all of the above, and a little bit more that would take an actual book to relay
E. It’s E. All the way the answer is E.
21. If you could bring back one character and kill off another who would they be?
I’d bring back Eileen and holy moly Shoshanna is coming our way. And I don’t have a character to kill off tbh. Let them live, I say. :)
I genuinely tag EVERYONE. Go on, everyone, you know you wanna!  :) xx

The night before your wedding to a man you couldn’t find any more repugnant, you seek out the mercantile aid of an unscrupulous space pirate.
A coolness perfuses the soles of your unshod feet. Everything about your alien environment exudes this curious chilliness. And though it should perhaps be the foreign engineering, the meandering layout, or the noiselessness of the vessel that flummoxes you most, it is rather the temperature that beguiles you.
Iluoli reside in a state of refrigeration. The notion is equal amounts amusing and fascinating. That much is reflected - quite literally, in the ship’s many lustrous surfaces - by your confused arrangement of features. And it is while wearing this unflattering facial setting that a door before you whooshes - everything on their ship whooshes - open. Right onto the long, limber figure of who you now know to be its captain. Before vacant, Namjoon’s eyes and mouth fly wider than you would consider possible. Then again, he is an alien. “Oh!” The exclamation is pulled from him softly. As quickly as he’d breathed it, he affixes a less terror-stricken expression. “Miss ____. I apologise if I startled you—“ by the way he white-knuckles the doorway, it should be you apologizing—“I wasn’t expecting to see you on the bridge. Or anywhere,” Namjoon remarks aside, bending enough to evaluate you from the toes up. “I wasn’t expecting to see you on your feet for a few days. Dr. Jung informed me that the soreness of your genitals would render you bedbound.” An inferno builds in your cheeks. And what may as well have been vapour, for the insubstantiality that leaves your flapping mouth. “U-Uh—“ “Ah, are you not feeling yourself still?” Namjoon incorrectly diagnoses, interpreting your incoherency as malady. “Come in and take a seat. The chairs are tolerable soft here. Designed for long stints of occupation.” “Th-Thanks,” you stumble, because if it weren’t your tongue flailing uselessly it’d be your legs, quaking in embarrassment. You’ve not long been aboard their ship, but it’s taken half that amount of time to realise that the Iluoli speak openly and frankly about such matters. And for one such as you, having been raised amidst the pomp and propriety of human nobility, their unfiltered stance on sexual activity is baffling. Refreshing, but baffling. “I’m doing well, though, thank you,” you sincerely do thank him, because his concern is genuine. “Yoongi suggested I take a wander of the ship to familiarise myself.” A lie; the bitter truth being he was standoffish and unreceptive to all attempted conversation. Even after your sordid clinch! The alien had muttered some transparent excuse about work and left you lonesome in his quarters.   “I didn’t know I was heading to the bridge. I’m sorry if I disturbed you.” “Not at all.” Namjoon rebuffs your fears of intrusion with a wave. “I was about to retire but you’re most welcome to see it. It isn’t terribly impressive.” He thumbs blindly to the chamber behind him, and his assertion couldn’’t be any further from the truth.
Meek as a mouse, you poke a toe over the threshold until awe robs you of your self-consciousness. The room carries the same, sleek architecture that is signature of the crew’s species, but what astounds you is the height of its concave reaches. A reinforced, glass dome houses you from the void twinkling beyond, granting you an unparalleled panorama of near space. Illuminants line the chamber’s walls, enhancing its majesty; strips of gentle violet that thrum with the engine’s core, pulsing like veins. Presumably the ship is either on standby or auto-pilot, as the light seems more ambient than practical. Consoles and stations around you blink with all manner of their own, indecipherable lights. And if you listen closely, there is a pleasant, undercurrent drone resonating from the technology surrounding; a hum as harmless and soporific as a mother’s bedtime lullaby.
A lullaby, if your eyes aren’t deceiving you, that one of the crew seems to have succumbed to. Open-mouthed and throat-exposed, a young man you’ve yet to make the acquaintance of dozes to the fore of the room, at its cockpit. In the lowlight it’s difficult to examine the features of his face, but by the silhouette of his strong profile he’s extremely handsome.
Is everyone on this ship sinfully good-looking?
The slumbering boy’s hair flutters on the breath of an apnoeic snort. One so loud and sudden it punctures the peace like a gunshot. Startled, you clutch the nearest thing to you, wild-eyed and abuzz with anxiety.
The nearest thing being Namjoon.
It only registers that you’re far from home, far from kin, and far out of your depth when you clock the squidgy, cloaked appendages you’re so rudely grappling are the captain’s tentacles. You know, the thing that modesty dictates they keep covered.
And you’re practically flattening them.
Namjoon makes a peculiar noise. Something betwixt a gasp and an exhalation, all at once. You think to unhand him, but your knuckles are only operating one-way. “Oh, goodness, I’m so, so sorry!”
“That’s quite alright,” the captain attempts to reassure you, though the hiccup in pitch gives away his agitation. Before you can extricate yourself from your tangle, Namjoon’s familiarly greasy appendages are encircling your wrists and returning them to your sides. Freed, his tentacles slither swiftly behind their shroud. “I apologise if Taehyung frightened you. He sleeps in here more than he does his own bunk.”
You follow the rhythmic rise and fall of the extraterrestrial’s chest. "Why does he do that?"
What you can only intuit as a fond smile erupts across the captain's face. "He's rather vehement in his pursuit of knowledge. It's a challenge to have him even eat, sometimes."
Illustrating Namjoon's words lay piles of vintage reading materials, the kind hardbound by leather and paper. Books, they used to call them. Taehyung doesn't appear the type to shun modern technology either, though. Scattered haphazardly amidst the tomes are your more familiar holopads, glowing idly with text and casting a sunset across his untroubled features.
"He's our navigator," Namjoon answers the question next on your tongue. "You would struggle to find someone who is as space-savvy as he is." His line of sight directs you to the controlled chaos stacked around the boy. "So we accommodate his eccentricities as best we can."
Where Yoongi is brusque and unfeeling, Namjoon is patient and warm. Your focus leaves the exotic chamber to land on him. "And I thank you again for accommodating me. I know it was extremely sudden. In all honesty, I'm essentially at sea. I had no plan beyond escape. And it wasn't with you, either."
Namjoon, too, is drawn back to the conversation. Spun-gold hair sweeps over an eye when he tilts his head. "You weren't planning to ask for our aid?"
"No," your cheeks feel the burn of shame before you can comprehend why. And then you do. "I approached your crew with the very specific aim o-of--" Namjoon's arcane eyes don't waver. Thraeus, they're purple. "Well, you know what."
"Engaging in interspecies intercourse?"
Namjoon's unequivocal suggestion triggers a snort from you, an improvement on head-to-toe mortification. "Yes, well. Yes." Your knuckles twist white around your skirt. "Before I was bound to marriage, I wanted that which I was always denied in pursuing. Forgive me if you think me vulgar."
A wonky smile suggests otherwise. "We really have no notion of such a thing. It was a curious display, if anything." A thumb and index finger pull suddenly, inexplicably at your cheek and bafflement leaves your mouth hanging. "Is this the colour of human embarrassment?" Namjoon hums, consumed by intrigue. "Your temperature has changed, also. We have no such reaction to that emotion. Though, we do feel it." Pincered in his scholarly musings, you can't so much see but hear the light ripple of his tentacles behind him. "Much of our emotion and reaction revolves around our Raeli."
As you speak, your cheek finds freedom from his gentle pinching. "Raeli?"
"I hear your kind term them tentacles, but that is not their true name. Raeli are, in etymology, quite literally our gifts from God." The so-called gifts squirm enthusiastically beneath Namjoon's cloak, as though sentient and hearing. "They are a measure of strength, virility, capability. They form the basis of much of our etiquette and ceremony. Their language can easily be misinterpreted by those unknown to us and thus it is prudent to keep them covered to strangers and the outside world."
Hearing him speak of alien custom in so free a way unearths a familiar, nagging resentment for your restricted upbringing. All you'd craved in your eye-rollingly homogenous curriculum was a taste of the other. To understand the beings that co-habit your universe. What you might one day run away to...
"Oh, so it's not for modesty's sake?"
Namjoon’s features scrunch toward the centre of his face. Again, you appear to have amused him. "No. We don't clothe ourselves for the reasons you do." Fingers trace the delicate embroidery of his cloak. "Well, some of them, anyway. To maintain our temperature, as you do, yes, but we feel no shame in revealing our naked form."
You mull these unfamiliar perspectives over. The more you contemplated your species' unnerving obsession for concealing all that was natural, the easier it was to consider that humans were the abnormal ones. "That's really interesting. Refreshing," you add with speed, eager to ensure your drowsy monotone isn't interpreted as sarcasm. If that's even a concept they're familiar with. They seem an extremely literal peoples.
"What's interesting?" A soft question, caught in a yawn, originates from the far end of the bridge. Taehyung is mysterious in the star-and-low-lit room, his eyes heavy with sleep and propped open by intrigue. "What are you talking about?" He repeats huskily, quicker this time, interest eschewing his lethargy.
It takes you more than a moment to respond. Largely, in part, because it's difficult to process how this fresh-, cherubic-faced man can produce sounds so sonorous. Hearing him speak is akin to submersion in your very favourite, warm milk baths. "I--well," your nerve renders itself elusive again when faced with a touted erudite. "Namjoon was just telling me some things about your species that I didn't know. I love hearing about you."
Taehyung's bottom lip catches the light as he juts it. "Oh. Is that it? We're boring. Now, what would be interesting is if you tell me everything about your species." He's on two legs, now, stretching each and every of the limbs attached to his torso toward the sky. Naturally your eyes are drawn to his uncloaked appendages as they flex away the effects of their inertia. Teal, and long - oh, so long - when extended in this manner, they tremble at the limit of their reach, much like the tail of your beloved, coddled cat, King Cud. "Where are you from? Where do you originate? What do you eat? The flora and fauna on your planet?" Taehyung stops a mere foot away, no longer lit by space but fluorescence from the corridor. There are stars, nevertheless, in his eyes, now open wide and seeking something of fascination. His tentacles undulate restlessly in the air behind him, six hands on a timepiece that originates from his back. You haven't seen them bared so boldly since--
"It's late, Taehyung. ____ is likely tired. You can ask her these things another time." Namjoon must sense some change in your demeanour. For the life of you, though, it's not something you can pinpoint yourself. Awe, maybe. He interprets discomfort. "And sheathe yourself. You may look threatening to a human."
Your head whips to him and back. Back to the imposing beauty overlooking you. "Oh, no! Not at all. I'm not afraid. I'm just--" how best to depict yourself as something other than a brazen xenophile? "--I've never mixed with people outside my own species. Other than the servant staff, I mean." The reproval you anticipate doesn't come from either of your hosts at your divulging your appallingly pampered lifestyle. The chagrin licks hot at your cheeks anyway. "What I'm trying to say is that I hold much admiration for your species. I want to learn more of you, and others, and--everything. I've led a very sheltered life until now."
As Taehyung's hands land on his hips, so, too, do two of his tentacles, ringing his wrists in mimicry. An exuberant grin pulls his lips into a charming, rectangular show of teeth. "I have so much to tell you, Madam ____!" The title is unexpected but you receive it with a smile of your own. "You don't know anything? That's so exciting!" He turns to Namjoon, tentacles tangling in his thrill. "Captain, this is amazing! I've never met someone so unintelligent! The things I can teach her!"
If your face wasn't an inferno of mortification before, it is now. "U-Unintelligent?"
Taehyung communicates a vague, self-conscious panic at Namjoon. His index fingers come together at his front for a show of agitated poking. If that wasn't winsome enough for your forgiveness, his top two tendrils emulate the gesture over his mop of hair. "D-Did I say it wrong? I meant," his top teeth sink into his fleshy bottom lip, fixed on Namjoon. His Captain, however, looks bereft of answers. "Stupid."
Whether it's a sound or a snort that ejects itself from one of your facial orifices, you're not sure. It's muffled in nano-time, however, by the palms of both your hands slapping your airways shut.
Namjoon, ever your well-meaning - if inaccurate - interpreter, sends a sigh in Taehyung's direction. His eyebrows hover low and remonstrative. "You're distressing our guest, Taehyung. With one of your words," he tacks on, sagely, though the ambiguity is transparent.
Actually, you'd laughed. Coarsely. You hadn't belly-laughed since, well, you'd been instructed by your nannies to hide it. The belly and the laughter. And all things in between. It was plebeian and unattractive to suitors, they'd said. That propriety dictated a gentlewoman keep such uncouth behaviour stifled. Slamming a hand to your mouth had become an unfailing reflex.
"Which one?"
"S-Stupid?"
Your reverie is struck aside by Namjoon's flustered speculation. Back in reality, you find yourself engaged by two extremely bewildered Iluoli. That’s very unlike reality.
The captain, then, relaxes in understanding. "Ah, yes. Don't say the word stupid, Taehyung. It's probably offensive to humans. Perhaps the term unlearned is less harsh."
There's no keeping it in. A noise, as foreign as your surroundings and situation, ousts itself like a geyser, vibrant and untapped. Thraeus, it’s funny. Everything is so funny. You guffaw into the open air, clawing at your stomach as it tremors."S-Stupid--u-unlearned--"
Once as deep as the earth's core, Taehyung's voice shoots up, shrill. "You made it worse!"
Namjoon's is just as high. "I--I didn't know humans were so fragile!"
It's only halfway to Hoseok's office, bound gently aloft by tentacles and amidst frenzied cries of Her face is watering again! that you're able to regain a measure of your composure and reassure them that you aren't, in fact, seizing.  Merely, you were laughing out your amusement. And you thank them for it.
That does nothing to clear up their confusion.

I do not know why I would go In front of you and hide my soul 'Cause you're the only one who knows it, Yeah you're the only one who knows it
James Buchanan Barnes was a mystery.
To everyone but you that was.
He was a quiet person, keeping to himself most times and only speaking when spoken to. It was quite the challenge to get to know him. But still, you tried, despite yourself.
You yourself were quite the timid gal. It wasn’t like you wanted to be so shy, you just...were. Social events made you nervous and talking to people was the most dreaded activity in the world. You always felt so...judged.
And Bucky, you thought, felt the same. He tried to hide it, seem strong and ready for anything the world threw at him, and everyone believed him. Not you though. He wasn’t okay and he sure as hell wasn’t ready for anything the world threw at him. You don’t come back from hell and are expected to be okay. It just wasn’t realistic.
So one day, one of your braver sides came out and you timidly tapped on his shoulder. He turned and looked at you with those bright blue eyes of his, and that was it. You might as well have signed a contract stating you and him would be best friends forever.
Eventually, you had chipped away at the wall he’d built and although you were quite possibly the shyest person to have ever walked the earth, something about Bucky had drawn you in. It was much more than his glorious looks.
And I will hide behind my pride Don't know why I think I can lie 'Cause there's a screen on my chest Yeah there's a screen on my chest
Bucky’s heart-wrenching screams were the first thing you heard. Granted they were what had woken you up in the first place, but it wasn’t that that bothered you. It was the fact that he was screaming at all.
You sit straight up, pushing the covers off you and running to Bucky’s next door room. Throwing the door open your heart racing and fear taking every fiber in your body captive, you glance around for your best friend.
“Bucky?” you call out into the dark room. Cautiously, you walked further in when, out of the corner of your eye, you see a slight shifting in the darkness. More groaning.
It was pitch black and you had to rely on your senses to guide you. The room was familiar enough though, so it was fairly simple to make your way to the light switch. You were worried about him. Was he hurt?
Turning on the light, you let a small gasp escape your lips. Bucky was laying in the middle of his bed, under a mess of blankets in a fetal position. He was shivering and as you quietly approached him, you could see sweat dripping down the side of his face.
“Bucky,” you whisper, gently shaking his shoulder. Your hand was now damp with his sweat. He frowned, still sleeping, and continued screaming, tossing around in bed.
You were becoming increasingly disturbed by his behavior. “Bucky.” You shake him again. No response, more tossing and grunting.
“Bucky!” You swat his cheek lightly.
Bucky jolts awake, grips your arm with his metal hand, and flips you onto his bed all in one motion. You grunt when your back makes contact with the mattress. “Umph.”
Bucky is panting, his grip on your arm tightens significantly. It seemed he was still dazed by his initial reaction and hadn’t recognized you. Or maybe even in a trance. His fingers press on the skin of your arm even more, causing you to hiss and release a small ow.
You suck in a painful breath, trying to keep yourself leveled. Reaching up for him, you decide not to last minute. It wasn’t a smart idea to do that when he was this shaken up. So you decided to use your voice instead, hoping the familiarity of it was enough to snap him out of it.
“Buck, hey it’s me, Y/n. I’m not here to hurt you. Just,” you reach up with a shaky hand and stroke his sweaty hand gently. “Just let go.”
Slowly but surely, you see the murderous look in his eyes fade and he raises his brows tenderly. “Y/n?” his voice is groggy and you gulp, nodding.
“Yeah. You were uh, having a nightmare.” Once he hears your quivering voice, he completely releases you, inhaling lightly.
“Did I uh,” his voice breaks. He clears his throat. “Are you okay, doll?”
You can’t help but blush at the familiar pet name. You always did. You decide not to respond, slyly taking your arm slowly away from him. Instead, you get on your knees, staring at him with furrowed brows.
“You’re burning up Buck,” you whisper, pushing his damp hair away from his hair and resting your hand on his forehead. All the while ignoring your humming heart or the fact that you weren’t normally this bold. You would’ve never been the one to initiate any physical contact with Bucky.
Bucky swallows, closing his eyes at your touch. “Doll,” he opens his eyes back eyes and you repress a shiver at his longing blue gaze. “I asked you a question.”
You sigh, avoiding his gaze. “You didn’t hurt me, Buck. Are you okay?”
“You’re lying.”
“I’m fine Bucky it’s nothi-”
He suddenly takes your wrist in his hands, exposing your arm. Five blue, greenish and purple bruises are forming.
He stares at it for a minute, letting the silence engulf him as you held for your breath for his reaction.
“Leave,” he whispers hoarsely.
“Wha-”
“I want you to leave Y/n. I want you to get as far away from me as you can.” He looks into your eyes, his own filled with pain. “I’m a disease and I don’t want you near me when it begins to spread.” He releases your arm from his gentle grasp and you stare at him with your eyes wide.
“Bucky, I’m not-”
“LEAVE!” his voice is so loud, you swore you felt the ground move. You flinch back from him. He glares at you, but you know he isn’t as mad at you as he is at himself. He needed space.
You relent, sliding out of his bed and slipping quietly out of his room.
He wanted to be away from you. Not because you had hurt or pissed him in any way, but because he felt guilty. It broke your heart to hear him say that.
Did he really think he was poison?
Oh, Bucky.
Not only that, but he was full of pride and even though he knew you’d be there for him he wouldn’t accept your help. It irritated you to no end.
You knew James Buchanan Barnes like the back of your hand. Every thought that passed through his head and every emotion he felt. All except one.
I'm standing in front of you I'm standing in front of you I'm trying to be so cool Everything together trying to be so cool
The next morning, during breakfast, you try to evade Bucky. Give him his space. You really, really do. But you could practically feel the anxiety and reminiscence of his nightmare last night coming at you in waves from across the living room in the Avenger’s Tower.
It was concerning the fuck out of you. Sighing, you settle on the seat next to Bucky and fiddle with your hands at the silence. “Are you okay?” you finally ask in your usual, timid voice.
Bucky looks over at you, but you refuse to meet his gaze, looking straight ahead. “I,” he huffs, rubbing the sleep off his eyes. “I’m...fine.”
You hum thoughtfully, not wanting to mention that you knew he was lying because it would make you look bad and scare him off. Darn shyness.
You shift awkwardly, fiddling even more with your hands as the silence grew tenser. “Bucky?”
“Yes, doll?”
“Do you think I could ever get married? Like, have kids and a husband and stuff?” Your voice is but a mere whisper. You had no idea where the question had come from. Maybe you were finally tired of his obliviousness to your feelings or your hiding of them thereof. Either way, you hoped he wouldn’t catch on to what you really meant. (But then again, you did.)
Bucky snaps his head over to you, his eyes wide. “W-why? Do you have some- are you with someone?”
You burst out laughing, then blush, pausing your loud laughter. You thought it was obnoxious so Bucky must find it so as well. “Yeah sure. Because men are just lining up to be with me.”
Bucky lets his shoulders drop in relief then stares at you with a small frown. “Y/n, you’re beautiful,” he says with all seriousness.
Your cheeks immediately heat up. Oh God, why did he have to make not loving him so hard?
You shake your head. “I’m not.”
Bucky releases a small, humorless chuckle. “Y/n,” he takes your chin in between his forefinger and his thumb turning you to look at him. “You’re the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.”
Well, shit.
Oh oh oh We're broken We're broken We're broken We're broken people, oh We're broken people, oh
You’re blushing so hard it’s hard to figure out whether you’re a tomato or a human being. Still, you’re bewildered beyond belief by this idea he’s made up in his head. “Bucky, you can’t possibly mean that. I’m hideous.”
Bucky looks at you incredulously. Like your words were the most ridiculous things to have ever been uttered. “Why do you always bring yourself down Y/n? I’m literally telling you that you’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. And I mean it, doll,” he smiles softly.
“Buck-”
Bucky doesn’t let you finish, leaning over, glancing down at your lips for a split second and pecking them lightly. You freeze, staring at him with wide eyes. “Did you just-”
He starts freaking out, a blush slowly creeping its way up his neck. “I-I’m sorry. I thought you felt the same. Y-you just know me so well and I felt like we had chemistry and- Oh God have I ruined our-”
You cut him off, in a completely new and bold move, and lean closer to him, engulfing his lips in your own. He froze for a split second, taken aback, then melted into the kiss, burying his fingers into your hair. Your lips moved completely in sync against eachother and you find it hard not to just stay like this forever.
Especially when you have to break away due to human’s irritating need for oxygen.
You gulp, looking into his eyes with a timid smile. He smirks in return to your farouche gesture.
“Well, that was...unexpected.”
You blush, hiding your face in your arms. “Oh God,” you groan.
He pries your hands off your face with a small smile. “Don’t be embarrassed Y/n. I...liked it, a lot.” You press your lips together to hide a smile.
He grins. “I was also wondering if maybe you’d like dinner?”
You tilt your head sideways, frowning. “Of course.” A big smile spreads over his face and his eyes light up like a kid on Christmas morning.
“I think Tony’s cooking something for us, when have I ever turned down dinner.”
Bucky ‘s smile fades and he smacks his forehead. “Y/n, I didn’t-” he sighs exasperatedly, looking at you. “I meant, would you like to go to dinner. With me. Just you and me alone. Having dinner.” his ears are red.
You flush, catching onto what he meant. “Y-you mean like a...”
Bucky smiles softly. “Like a date, Y/n. I mean like a date.”
You don’t hold back a smile this time. “Of course.”

VLD Season 7 Reactions: Part 2
Hi, @dreamworksanimation and @voltron! Hope you had a great holiday weekend. I received more asks since the last time I sent you a post. Please give these a read, as these are the reviews sent to me from the fandom. Best - ptw30
Anonymous said: Voltron is all build up and no follow up. They teased us with a very cool premise and then slowly went away from it till they finally went to "nope don't remember didn't happen". And the EPs even seem proud of that. I wonder if they ever watched the show :(
The EPs lack the ability to bring a resolution or closure. We never find out Haggar’s motivation or reasoning about Operation Kuron. We never find out who the “other one” was in the pilot. We never find out Shiro’s bayard form. Lance’s insecurities are never resolved. We never find out the limitations of Allura’s powers - she can transfer souls but can’t find the Black Lion galaxies away? There’s just so much left out of the story.
Anonymous said: Sometimes I think about all of voltron’s loose threads and how this next season is the last and am then transported back to my high school days of putting off projects until the last second, throwing something together, aiming for at least a passing grade.
The EPs failed a long time ago, if that’s the case. When they decided to kill off one of the main characters without allowing the team to grieve, forced the most popular paladin off the team, demoted the leader of the team to a soldier, and abandoned its own lore, including breaking the strongest paladin-lion bond without any explanation - they failed to give the viewers any satisfying conclusion to this story. No matter what the next 13 episodes include, it won’t make up for the middle 39 episodes that literally brought tragedy after tragedy, especially to the team’s only LGBTQ+, multiple-minority character.
@sweet-rabbit said: You know, if the EPs wanted us to not like, nay, LOVE AND ADORE Shiro as much as we do, it was probably a huge misstep on their or whoever's part that they hired a man who voiced a freakin' DISNEY RENAISSANCE CHARACTER to voice Shiro. The blasted fools, the lot of them!
Josh Keaton is a consummate professional, and no doubt, Andrea Romano nailed it when working with him and the team. If there is one thing that is absolutely, without a doubt, above reproach with this show - it’s the voice acting. It is outstanding.
@safeautistickeith said: Damsel Shiro aaaaalways felt Suspect ™ for me. Like. Keith can say, ”we saved each other” (whoever wrote that bless them) But, lbr Shiro’s sidelining was a slowburn that started from his damsel-dom. S1: S and K each got a Big Save. K saved S when he came back to Earth. S saved K when K went after Zarkon (Shiro voice: I’ve got you, buddy) S2: K saved S in Across the Universe. S saved K in Marmora. Equals? Yes. Truly. Then s3 comes along and it’s not longer this beautiful, mutual thing, but Shiro becomes a Damsel in Distress. Which Yikes ™ Asian man demoted to damsel? Unfortunate implications. He’s arc has been about leading up until then? Unfortunate implications. He’s a gay male( the reveal planned in s2??) un for tu nate implications. There’s a line between, ”you can be masc and also need help” and just making him a damsel. Big Yikes.
Voltron originally broke tropes, which was awesome. Allura wasn’t a princess locked away in a castle-ship but a knock-out, drag-out warrior who wasn’t afraid to get into the fray. Shiro, the strong-willed leader, wasn’t afraid to accept help. Keith, the loner, felt perhaps the most for his team. “Loverboy” Lance was actually the heart of the team, rather than a female character playing that part. Hunk, too, was strong but scared, and Pidge was not the stereotypical girl figure.
In Season 3, the story began to fall into the traps of the tropes it had broken, and it’s been a demoralizing and disappointing journey ever since.
@melissa18999 said:The lack of characters being challenged emotionally is why everything after season 2 bothers me. Kuron’s arc didn’t test the characters on an emotional level given how after the arc is over everyone just moves on. It’s there only to write actual shiro out of the show for a bit rather than seriously affect the cast. Same thing with Keith’s [crap] and every other character. Nothing tests them emotionally. (Maybe Allura with Lotor)
VLD misses a lot of emotional beats. One of the biggest failures was not showing when the team learned about Keith’s Galran heritage. Then we never see the emotional fallout with the clone, other than the team referring to him as “evil.” The clone fought alongside with the team, perhaps longer than Shiro, and the team never mourned him. Sendak and Shiro’s fight? Shiro never says a word, and then Keith kills Sendak, taking away Shiro’s right to fight back against his one-time captors.
Lotor had Pidge’s dad and didn’t even try to make her a traitor to Team Voltron? Narti could control minds and not one of the paladins was ever brainwashed by her? Haggar did it to a clone, not even Shiro.
Even Allura and Lotor’s relationship - Allura’s anger was the stereotypical  “woman scorned.”
So much potential, and it’s just wasted.
Anonymous said: An ask or two doesn't have enough room to describe how much Shiro means to me, how much strength I draw from him, how many dark places he's helped me out of. But s6's treatment of kuron/shiro left me in tears and nearly dissociating for hours, and it's the only season I haven't rewatched. And here's the kicker: Everything I've read about s7 has made the thought of watching it feel identical to an urge to self harm. I want the EPs to think about that. I want them to think hard about people like me, because I doubt I'm the only one who's been affected like this. And I want them to really, really consider if this is the story they wanted to tell. If this is the effect they wanted their story to have.
Shiro is important to many people in terms of representation, and I’ve read many posts about people who identify with him. I’m glad he’s had an impact upon your life, and I hope you can still take comfort in the earlier seasons. Please take care.
Anonymous said: I think I'd be okay with the "Shiro had a degenerative disease" if that was it alone. Like, it's a really good explanation of why everyone so readily accepted the pilot error thing despite Shiro being an absolute legend of a pilot. But it was tied together with his gay reveal and then the story he was shoved into and... I cannot like it, or accept it.
Shiro was revealed to be LGBTQ+, have a degenerative disease, and lose his place in Voltron - all in one season. The juxtaposition of the reveals is reprehensible, and it sends a horrible message to people who have mental and physical struggles, are LGBTQ+, and minorities.
Anonymous said: So, here's why the "it's a show abt war so you have to suffer watching, bc there's only tragedy" excuse is weak: It’s a show about space robots, a space robot called voltron. It's not a show about drama, about people dying and it never was. It was supposed to be a show about teamwork (supposed bc that premise has left the building a long time ago) with war comes death? Yes, absolutely, but its not an excuse to kill all of the lgbt characters
That’s the issue - it’s not an excuse to kill all the LGBTQ+ characters. A show about war that has death and handles appropriately is one thing. Mourning the clone, mourning Shiro, mourning Narti - all those things should have happened, and they didn’t. (These characters were also all with physical and mental disabilities, DreamWorks.)
Showing children closure, helping them to understand death - is a good lesson to learn. But excluding Shiro from his only family, killing his one-time SO in a “fringe” move, and then killing the other LGBTQ+ couple in the show - not to mention killing Shiro four times - that’s a message DreamWorks should not be sending children.
Anonymous said: The one thing I wanted from Voltron Season 7: Shiro getting to reunite with the team, and work with them again as a part of the team - also, the one thing the Voltron EPs refuse to allow.
Not to be technical - but that’s actually two things. Shiro did reunite with the team, but unfortunately, he wasn’t a part of the team. In fact, he was excluded to the point of no longer even being called a paladin, according to “The Journey Within,” and I agree. I wanted that in Season 7 as well.
Anonymous said: I'm still lowkey [mad] that Sincline, made of the same material as Voltron, was not sentient, but the MFE fighters and Atlas, which are reverse-engineered galtean tech and run off... idk what they run off, magic low-charge batteries maybe... are implied sentient.
I’m not sure, but I can say - I am sad that didn’t pan out, either. I wanted to see what Lotor and his generals could do in Sincline. I’m sad that Atlas, clearly built for Allura, didn’t talk to Allura first. Instead, she will always be Blue’s second choice, Lance Red’s second choice, and Keith left to Black because Shiro...didn’t not to fly Black anymore? I’m not quite sure why. The story never tells us.
Rounding back - Sincline had so much more potential than was realized.
Anonymous said: In not committing to a specific black paladin, or even a specific direction and endgame, the story failed to stay together. It fell apart in the same manner a soft cheese does when pressed to a fine-hole cheese grater.
There are a lot of things that failed to keep the story together. The first and foremost was - you need to keep the team together, or at the very least, not lose two of your main characters in one 26-episode batch, one character for 24 episodes, another for 12.
Anonymous said: If the EP's have treated Shiro as an equal instead of a 'problem' they had to put up with, would VLD have not have gone downhill? It does feel like their dislike for one character and their stubbornness to stick to their original plan is what dragged the show down. It really does feel like what happened behind the scenes has become a cautionary tale on what you shouldn't do when writing a story and its characters.
I can’t say for sure, but what I can say is - the moment the EPs saw Shiro not as a character but as a plot device, is the moment the story began to unravel.

Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans
I’m preserving here all my liveblogging and commentary from twitter because this is the better space for keeping track of my self discussion. Yeah, no one cares, ANYWAYS
Gundam IBO Episodes 1-3
Gundam IBO: *puts main characters in a flashback in the first episode* Me:
Tumblr media
Ah yes, the political girl who understands nothing of the hard man life. Good old Gundam.
I love Biscuit.
So far I'm a big fan of this shows policy on showing angry boys teeth.
Orga's hair is genius. No hats for dramatic flare, just that pointy bang. So good.
Millennial vs Boomer vibes, haha, love it.
Oh GOD Biscuit has sisters named Cookie and Cracker I am so happy.
I giggle every time I hear "Lieutenant Crank" because I am a idiot.
Did the Gundam nerds whine about Barbatos' tiny waist? Seems like a hill some would die on.
Surprisingly fine with Atra's crush on Mikazuki. It's cute! Not played weird or funky, so far. They seem like they'd get along really well actually - similar temperaments and background and all that.
Oh shit these kids are about to do a bad ain't they? Go get 'em.
I'd keep the accountant too - I don't wanna do any fuckin' math either.
Hate Beer-gut-Hitler-stache, when does some kid kill him? Soon hopefully.
His full name iS CRANK  Z E N T
Political girl admires strong tiny boy for being coerced into dangerous life choices and options. Good old Gundam!
Mika isn't a victim so it's fine. This is fine. He is fine. They're all fine. Everything is fine. It's fine.
These poor babies. They're not gonna be okay.
Thoughts:
This is gonna be a big old thing ain't it? I've seen enough Gundam to know this one is going to hurt and in all the ways other Gundam titles try to tragic but fail. I can see that from way out here in the boondocks.
Mikazuki is incredibly concerning and he and Orga are gonna probably tear each other a part. That's the shit thing about existing in a constant mode of survival. They don't have time for inner reflection and they don't know how do even do that. These babies are already slipping.
Which gives the less-than-palatable title a lot of weight. "Iron-Blooded Orphans" sounds cool I guess but mostly it's sad. What a sad thing to see from an outside perspective. It's strength for them, it's pride, I get that, but I don't think as the viewer I am meant to buy in. Or shit, lol, maybe I am but I'm just a reserved asshole. I like to think I'll be hurt less later if I point out I can see the plot trembles now but we all know that's not true.
Very interested to see what Kudelia grows to do in all this. She'll remain political and maybe teach the Orphans about talking about their feelings - I dunno. She'll do something, obviously, I just have no clear idea /what/ so far. Which is fair, only episode three.
The handsome kid with the earrings (don't remember his name, too scared to search it) is definitely bisexual though. That's facts. Sorry.
Looks like this series will forgo the expectation of some pilot screaming about peace while blowing absolutely everything up. Ending of the third episode is a bit on the nose with the thematic line IBO is choosing to walk but I dug it.
Lots to look forward to! Lots will change! I adore the cast which of course makes me very fearful lol. They're hardened kids, they're stuck in survival mode, I can connect with that. What's interesting is their bonds and comfort with each other.
It's safe to assume they're gonna see some wild shit but they will have each other (until they don't) and whose a sucker for found-family feelings? THIS BITCH.
Gundam IBO episodes 4-7
McGillis Fareed is a creep, you heard it here first folks.
This guy is gonna have some wild backstory. He is the unmasked Char dude so. His hair bang is out to rival Orga's.
~ CINEMATIC PARALLELS ~
I love Akihiro is literally the guy from Beserk. He is pulling an AU role. Good for him.
The children are out here trying to change space future. I love them.
Ohhhh. She is here to teach the lost boys to READ.
Yeah, Orga and Mika's relationship keeps them alive but it can't last. They're gonna get hurt my babies are gonna ndndndnnsn
It's a judging love, a push and shove ya know? They're great protagonists, very compelling. Their relationship is bueatiful in it's own way but a honest writer knows they can't maintain that status quo if the characters are to grow. Especially into adulthood.
Hello cute pigtailed woman doing her nails in space! How can this one show keep treating me so well? Haha!
 *famous last words, probably*
Okay there is some background mechanic guy and I haven't caught his name yet but he is blonde and styling a swoop do over one eye and his voice actor is so friggin familiar even just the like few lines he has had so far. I'm going on a search wish me luck.
Ahh! Character's name is Yamagi and the voice actor is Soma Saito who was Twelve in Terror in Resonance!  Phew. Okay, back at it go time.
This power couple in the hat and shapely tummy scar, jeez. This show thrives on contrasting character designs but this one is, heh, this is new. Seems out of place almost.
PS>> Handsome bisexual earring boy is KILLING IT.
A+ pop into more scenes please thanks
It may be still too early to declare but I think Eugene is in the running to join my idiot son collection. He's got those expressive reactions that I just *clenches fist* that I just love so damn much.
lady pilots lady pilots lady pilots
I know ladies sitting at space computers in bikini tops isn't for any (good) reason but I need people to know that ladies in space would be hanging out in bikini tops for their own fantastic reasons and because I know this I shall accept events.
Idiot Son CONFIRMED
Tumblr media
Atra x Kudelia WHEN?! Don't you let me down Mari Okada - I know what you're like!!!
Yamagi the cutie is gay. I'm filled with so much pride. *wipes tear*
These reckless bastard children are gonna be the death of me.
I adore how anyone with any kind of heart is moved by these kids. By their shared known history, by their current situation, their guts and their clever gambits.
There is such potential for wonderful storytelling when adult characters are made to stop and consider kids - not as lesser but as whole people in their own right.
Thoughts:
So McGillis Fareed is a creepo. Why do I think this? Well he didn’t bat an eye at accepting a child bride, I consider that a big friggin' tip off. Also, he exudes way too much effort.
I’m still early in the series so I may end up making a fool of myself surrounded by people who already know everything I don’t, but I’ll go ahead and try to explain my thinky thoughts anyhow.
I was only partially joking when I said CINEMATIC PARALLELS.
Pretty sure McGillis is being positioned against Orga and I say this because of their opposing character design and traits. McGillis consistently pulling on his bang was the tip off - hear me out!
The visual language of animation works differently than live action. Naturally by the medium what characters are bottom up designed to do are often times filled with more thematic intent than an actor forming characterization in collaboration with a director/a production. Plus, McGillis and Orga’s designs are intentional echos of one another within their stark differences, which is smart. This is a big cast that has varied character designs which have opposing tying traits (MORE ON THAT LATER) so their differences are what makes them similar.
I think these two leaders are more alike than what I’ve seen so far. I think the point is that Orga’s trials and struggle are more outright visible by his own choice whereas McGillis’ are hidden by him.
Orga never touches his wack hair even though he has a massive killer bang blocking his vision half the time. He isn’t seeking to change what lot he has been given in life and he isn’t trying to hide behind a fake persona. As orga states, “I am who I am.” A child.
McGillis constantly touches his hair while visibly contemplating. This guy is all calculated effort and performance. He isn’t who he presents himself as. Quite the adult.
Moving on to Orga and Mika and this show's brilliant use of opposing character designs: Jeepers Creepers, check out them Peepers edition.
Mika has big eyes. They're great. Because his eyes are so wide all the time it isn't shock we need to worry about with him. It's when he narrows his eyes. We saw this when he tried to choke out Gaelio (which, can I just say, noice).
You know who knows this better than anyone? Orga.
More and more we see Orga turning to Mika for approval, for motivation, for inspiration in his choices and push for whatever the hell it is Tekkadan is going to become. Orga has the smallest eyes of the cast, they're beady and cunning, even more so than McGillis (yikes). I think it's safe to say that Orga observes more than Mika, that Mika just watches things impassively as Orga ascertains what he assumes are Mika's wants.
And it's that type of thing where... The system works. Mika's wide, waiting, eyes keeps Orga on his toes. Keeps him thinking ahead, keeps him and everyone else relatively safe. But! But. There is a undercurrent of disproportion happening. I don't doubt these two love each other. I doubt that they understand their own dynamic. Any shift or change in this system and shit goes south very quickly. So naturally, I worry.
In lighter news OH MY GOD YAMAGI HUH?! Shy mechanic boy loves earring boy as much as I do - we are forever bonded in this way. He is my friend and I want only happiness for him. Ganbatte Yamgai, fuckin' get it boy.
Gundam IBO episodes 8-11
Yes, recap my idiot son Eugene's skills! If Akihiro is the guy from Berserk then Eugene is AU Makoto Tachibana from Iwatobi Swim Club, btw
The nonchalant babes at the controls are my BFFs.
I love the bit the in opening that's right away during "with all your voice" where Mika and Orga turn pause turn pause turn - what a simple but effective emotional pull, right? gurgle
Oh, it's his harem. Yes. Naturally. Of course. I don't hate this. Am I broken?
ohmygod I think it's because Naze Turbine looks like Ryoji Kaji. I will never be free.
HahahHAHAHAAHAAHAHA! Babies in space! Planting those seeds! HAHAH PLANTING SEEDS okay calming down. What am I to make of the editing in this scene? We've got Atra grasping her Mika charm then we're cutting away to Kudelia I'm freaking out right now.
B-b-b-budget episode! My favorite kind! Play with those jump cuts, yeaaaah!
Naze has a sweet spot for kids and wacky found families. Loves it.
This guy is defiantly space Marlon Brando in The Godfather right? That's intentional right?
This is a really awkward dinner time conversation. :D
Party time! Have fun kids, be safe, you make me very nervous.
Drunk Orga!
*SOBS*
Yamagi is jealous oh no oh my sweet little man oh it's okay!
I need everyone to know I'm deeply emotional about this family of lost boys and their big day and everyone is dressing up and JESUSSS
For a dude with a hat fetish and a harem Naze Turbine is a pretty good father figure so far, huh? He best hope it stays that way. *Whispers* It really is Kaji all over again...
I haven't praised the Old Man yet but Nadi is best and I would kill for him.
Hey, psst, hey in the opening Gaelio bending up into frame while McGillis slyly looks on is some really high quality queerbaiting. Top notch stuff.
These two fuckers hate each other but they like don't care? I don't know. I hate them. I love them. They're stupid make them stop.
The accountant is now like some magical loving math grandpa to all these rowdy boys my heart is so full!
Norba Shino, my love, your insecurities are great and many. Boobs this, boobs that! ... He isn't wrong actually.
Go team bisexual d i s a s t e r
I'm getting Takaki's back story, he is off to train in the simulator I DO NOT LIKE THIS
Flustered Orga is just, well it's very good. It's great. It's so sweet I'll put in my tea so I can drink it and get warm fuzzies forever.
Atra and Kudelia are so good together, they're another pair of characters with contrasting yet corresponding character designs that are just so fantastic!
DING DING DING figured out the editing of the baby scene and yes oh boy seeds were planted! Ecstatic. Don't be a coward show!
Haha, yeah right.
...Maybe though. Maybe. I think the biggest problem would be Mika because he's, well he is him isn't he?
Now Takaki is tagging along on patrol and I’m getting Akihiro’s backstory. Great. That’s not ominous.
BEEP BEEP BEEP an Ahab Reactor duh doy oh jeez oh come on kids
Thanks for the save Mika! HAHA I was worried. They got me.
Yes, the set up for Akihiro's brother is lazy but whatever I'm invested.
"Come on, come on, come on!" lol this fork tongued pirate kinda looks like a human Momotaros. I'm digging this creep.
TAKAKI NO!
Azee is my wife. We're very happy.
Friggin' Ein standing around muttering and holding Crank's pin like lolol do your job or something.
"All I want to do is kill those boys" like come on Ein no you don’t, just go do some fucking paper work. I'm sure you've been ignoring plenty.
Tumblr media
No. Nope. NOPE. Absolutely not.
This show knows this isn't okay. It's showing us it isn't okay. Flowers in the Attic is over here touching hot tea pots, like??? McGillis is a creep and he has some junked up plan or scheme or whatever. Blerg.
Pfft, McGillis is touching that hair bang all "A powerful piece that could shake up the regime" HUH HERR I wonder who?
These kids are too good and too well adjusted - it's great. I mean, it's sometimes a bit much like in this instance with Akihiro and his bro, but that's also what makes it nice. What makes the show compelling. You trust these characters to trust each other at this point.
Thoughts:
The dominoes are setting up and we're getting to that point where almost all the pieces of mystery in the show's opening are all out on the table. Very exciting.
Can't wait to learn what the hell McGillis is up to. He is the exact kind of character I actually really like, because I'm the worst. The child bride is, you know, shitty but I don't think the show is (so far) trying to display it as anything but A Situation™
Frankly, the entire thing with Almiria is (so far!) a play on how these characters are still kind of kids in their own way. Obviously Almira, but McGillis and Gaelio are still at the whims of their own parents and forever will be at the beck and call of their "families".
Tekkadan are more overtly children but they're wiggling out from under another's thumb and carving a space to move around and have some self definition. McGillis is, I can guess, is going to try and do the same for himself (especially after his little chess speech).
McGillis' extreme acceptance of Almiria is partially gross and partially understandable. It's both. Because it is both! Being shitty to Almiria won't gain him any points and he is going to use her, his parents already predetermined that. Eeehhh. Wait and see I guess.
I adore the dynamics of this big cast of characters, the boys feel so real and I live to see them acknowledge one another's strengths and hopes and fears. ;_;
Like most Gundam properties (other than GWing, yeah I said it!) the female cast is a bit washy, a bit too reactionary towards an thus defined by the male ensamble but I don't dislike anyone.
There is a divide between the female characters and the male characters, they share the same physical space but their narratives are not aligned and that's okay but it is a little frustrating. I'm a patient soul and I love (and know) the Gundam franchise so I'm good but maaaan. I really want the ladies to get through on this one. I really want them to want things for themselves beyond being pulled by their boy peers. They don't need to fight. They don't need to yell. Who they are now is good, there is a good foundation. They just need a gear shift, especially in the realization that they're not just along for the ride. And I am mostly thinking of Atra at this point. I love her because she is easy to love but I also know that's through careful positioning and not due to anything inherent in her.
We will end this bout how I think many of these will end; YELLING ABOUT YAMAGI.
Yamagi is a sweet boy who deserves the world! Norba Shino is a human disaster who (headcanon) is going through a lot of confusing emotional and hormonal stuff right now so please be strong Yamagi.
Gundam IBO episodes 12-14
I love Ms. Merribit. Anyone will tell you I'm a sucker for responsible ladies in pant suits.
I love these Man Rodi the Brewers use. A good chuby boy in heels.
They made Mika's lunch TOGETHER.
TOGETHER.
My man Nadi knows what's up.
Tumblr media
That's what I'm talkin' about! Mari Okada I trust you so much girl.
At some point Orga's tough guy smirk is going to be used in a way that pains and hurts me and I will probably die.
space battle space battle space battle I am a nerd space battle!
The ladies are covering for Akihiro. They want these brothers to reunite. *crying*
Masahiro's voice actor is giving an amazing performance.
Aw damn it.
Episode 13's opening is straight forward but rough: Norba's search crew find Brewer's human debris, passes them over, but those scared kids shoot which causes the Tekkadan kids to react and return fire. It's played straight as being it is what it is - a shit cycle of getting out.
The child solider/space rat stuff is, I feel, primarily used by the show to explore various forms of abusive fallout (which is why the Tekkadan kids fairly well adjusted existence is a little weird but deeply appreciated) and this quick moment punctuates Akihiro's goodbye.
A guest compliments Almiria, "She is like a doll!"
She is, isn't she?
Kill me.
UH OH she has realized she is nine.
Let me guess, McGillis is going to be a white knight oh yep here he comes. Great.
I'm hitting pause and I'm going on a wild ass fuckin' tangent:
I feel younger kids having crushes on older people all depends on how it's handled by the older character, much as in life. Kids crush on adults. They do. That's not like weird or strange. What's important is how adults are made to handle those feelings (if known) and a story can go in so many different directions for so many different reasons and that's fine. That's storytelling. I shall judge all stories individually as they cross my path with whatever elements they have within them. That's how I do it.
So McGillis being charming and nice towards Alimaria is, again, fine and a little icky simultaneously. We know he is stuck. He is not out to ruffle any family plans. He is cucumbering this shit and being as smooth as possible alternative motive I don't know yet.
Alimaria is at the utmost disadvantage here.
Within their specific scenario the only character we've seen consider her as a person who is also stuck in a hamster wheel of shitty parents is McGillis.
Obviously McGillis is a total shit-bird who is simply being nice because that's what is advantageous for HIM but the show is still (barely, mind you) straddling that line of "This Is Just A Situation™, we'll rip the Band-Aid Later"
McGillis is going to do something absolutely terrible to this girl and I am weary as fuck.
The series is being very manipulative with McGillis' actions here with Alimaria. He is being considerate but he is also stepping over a line.
McGillis is presented as being understanding and seems to genuinely care about Alimaria's feelings which makes him come off as, well, nice and princely. Which is undoubtedly what he wants. Which is what kind of makes him a monster, ya feel me?
Eh, okay, incoherent late night ranting done. Back to sad boys and robots.
THESE POOR SAD BOYS.
This funeral is hitting me in my soft bits I can't deal
And it's followed up by Yamagi x Shino content just rub salt in my wounds JESUS
UHHHH PARDON ME?!?!?!? I hate this episode! Deaths? Kisses? UGH. Mika is an dummy. He is full of dumb.
They're making sure to show Atra sneezing though, as if someone mentioned her name explicitly which is just more weird ass editing choices I don't know how to take. What are you trying to tell me?!
I'm stupid and a low life so I don't actually hate all love triangles. In fact I tend to rub angst all over my body so I can smell like disappointment and unresolved sexual tension but Mika is still a total dummy end of discussion.

NEW OPENING BITCHES!
MASKED PILOT MASKED PILOT I AM YELLING!
New opening has got it all! Just absolutely everything! We've got a masked pilot; we've got some new looking girl straight out of CLAMP's X/1999 or some shit; we've got sad boy's angry teeth; did I make this? Is this a dream?
Fumitan ain't gonna rat Kudelia out! At least... I don't want her to anyways.
Kudelia is straight up asking this lesbian about men I can't believe her.
Hehheh heeh heh hehe "Dort" hehe
I adore the weirdness and chafing of Merribit and Orga's working relationship.
Oh my god guys, they're at Fantasy Costco! These girls are gonna clean these stinky boys and make that there ship sparkle. It's girly manifest destiny.
"So no matter which planet you're on, the bossy ones are scums" - That's my idiot son Eugene who is actually one of the smarter of the idiot boys.
I love the juxtaposition of these colony adults drinking the juice on the political Mars girl and her mighty teen protector warriors out to save them when it's really them asking lesbians for advice on men and trying to survive and crying when no one is looking.
I'm serious, Orga is borderline terrified of Ms. Merribit. She's just another pair of waiting judging eyes for him and he doesn't know how to deal with her because she actually SAYS STUFF.
Biscuit you be careful baby, watch your back.
Loooooove the juxtaposition of these colony adults being super psyched to get blown up and these kids are like "Christ almighty, put that down!"
Shino helping Yamagi escape (~˘▾˘)~
These boys are out here doing their job, doing their best, they're on their best behavior and they've been set up. My precious children! They've done nothing wrong, ever!
"Maybe I'll change the way I talk, huh? ... No, I will not do that." Goddammit I love McGillis and I'm sooooooooooo mad about it.
Thoughts:
We've had Snake-Man-Pirate suggest to Mika that he enjoys killing but we haven't really been given any evidence of that. I'm sticking to my self-made theory on Mika's eyes!
He has that big wide stare most of the time, Mika doesn't actually have much personal investment in most of what he does. He doesn't love killing, but he doesn't have any real opinion on it either way. It isn't like when he choked out Gaelio or, now, kissing Kudelia.
I'm full power launching myself into deep fannish space because that's how I media but like, I'm not crazy right? Mika's eyes are IMPORTANT. They're about all we're given in understanding him, which is wild for the main Gundam pilot protagonist. The emphasis on Mikazuki's eyes within his design and being the only markers the audience is given when it comes to inner choices is a big gambit. We're 14 episodes in and don't have much of a grasp on Mika and I think that's because he has never once self defined. He is the ultimate of the poor sad robot boys. Akihiro is struggling with his humanity and the label of his existence ("human debris") with all the characters starting to find space and time to turn inward and then there is Mika.
I don't think he knows how to live life while not only trying to survive. So, what's going to boot his self defined existence online? Piloting Barbatos? Kissing girls? Familial love?    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
McGillis being a masked pilot this late into the game with no charade about "Who can it BEeeeEEeE?!?" is my favorite thing. Haven't even seen him in an episode yet just a preview but oh, it's my favorite thing.
We'll end this short thoughts binge on the beauty that is Yamagi and why I am somewhat upset:
IBO has a very tight turn around of set up and follow through. There is (I'm assuming) a longer, slower set up with end game (probably tragic) follow through happening in concordance with the two episode story arc rhythm the series has going so far.
Quick simplified examples can be
Akihiro mentions his brother > we meet his brother > his brother chooses to die/save him > kids learn some on how to handle grief.
Turbine has a harem > everyone accepts this > kids learn some on how to handle a found, self defined family.
The pattern is "If the kids meet a thing, that thing becomes possible."
We ain't seen no men loving men. We've not come across a viable example in the narrative of that being a option or choice or possibility.
There are a lot of episodes left and this isn't like a make or break situation for me, but we are inching up on the set up stage being over with and if there is no example, no proof, of men being able to love men then...? I'm hesitant to invest.
I still will invest hook line and sinker, this is Gundam and damn that’s what I do
BUT!
That's also just so frustrating and sad as well as being, haha, believable. If there is no example encouraging Yamagi to approach Shino and no example for Shino to see acceptance then they're just gonna run out of time or figure their shit out too late.
Which is so very extremely stressful and masterfully manipulative how dare you I'm so impressed but mad and hurt and god I hope I'm wrong and off and have not tapped into this show's core of foreshadowing or whateverthehell.
Yamagi is a sweet boy who deserves the world and Norba Shino is a human disaster and I suffer for them.

I have come to bring this dead Tumblr back to life solely so that I can say this (S7 spoilers)(also really long because I like to write)
I absolutely loved Voltron season 7 and it is my current favourite season
I’m doing this post thingy because I’m seeing a failry big backlash from fans here because of the events of Season 7 and pretty much treating it like the worst season ever so I”d like to throw my 2 cents into the mix
The actual plot of this season (the Galra war on Earth and everything around defeating the fleet and the battle that comes right after that) is good, is just pure and of quality GOOD
the 3D animation was also amazing compared to other seasons, that fight coreography on the last fight was simply amazing
Just throwing that out there becauce the things that actually matter get buried by the hate
the main things I see people complaining about: the whole deal with Adam and Shiro, Lance and Allura’s relationship and Keith and Acxa’s possible future relationship
The big deal here is of course Adam, he’s Shiro ex boyfriend
and he dies
the shitty commander refuses to listen to the dude that knows bout alien stuff and gets all of the best pilots killed when the invasion starts, including Adam
the controversy here is that the crew has been hyping LGBT representation ever since 2016 and when they finally deliver it they kill the character
Personally I’m okay with it
the way they dealt with Shiro’s gay arc is that they completely ommited the fact that he was gay up untill now, and even then it wasn’t a big part of him or he’s identidity, mainly that the fact that he’s gay only affects wich person he has a romantic interest in, not who he is as a person, wich is great because it distances himself for any form of tokenism wich are rarely done well
Adam himself wasn’t much important, the scenes we got of him during the flashback were not the main focus, he was a side character on a scene designed to explain and develop Shiro and Keith’s relationship, counting the fact that the scene in question is him breaking up with Shiro since Shiro would put more focus on the missions than on Adam or himself, given he was sick
That (and the fact that Shiro spends 6 seasons without ever even mentioning him) shows that while they were a thing in the past, that’s it, it was a thing of the past, he’s still care for Adam as a person or friend, but lover was never the question, (also because Shiro is the calm and collected type and in the middle of a war situation like that it would be in character for him to hold anything back, specially since they were about to go discuss important stuff) and the scene that he dies? well a lot of people do, they likely just used Adam to try and get more emotional response of the scene where a bunch of people we never heard about die offscreen deaths
Characterwise, the whole thing with Adam was fine, he had one purpose and he filled it, while also introducing Shiro’s sexuality in a normalized way, instead of making it a big deal for his character, wich is indeed wasted potential, but when it comes to representation, normalizing it does better than bringing attention to it
the whole thing about they introducing a gay character solely to kill him, yeah I can see why people would find it offensive, specially since the crew did alluded to a lot bout a character being gay, but then again they were refering mostly about Shiro and most of the hype and attention drawn to Adam was made by the fans for the fans, so yeah
Next is the whole deal with Lance-Allura-Keith-Acxa
as we all know Klance is the big ship of the fandom, everyone seems to ship it and you can’t find a single Voltron crack video on YT without finding one with a Klance reference on it, that also likely led to the popularity of the theory that Acxa was Keith’s long lost sister that no one ever mentioned
long story short, fans wanted Lance to move on from his crush on Allura since she showed no romantic interest on him, and people wanted Acxa to be Keith’s sister because it would be different and if they used the scenes they had to build a relationship it wouldn’t be good since they had few scenes together and a lot of them revolved one of the two being attacked by the other one
I’ll do this quick, Lance’s entire romantic plot revolved around him going from “this chick’s hot I wanna date her” to “Oh my god I am in actual love with this beaultiful and amazing woman”, spending 6 seasons worth of development of that and just have him choose to get over it and not get with her is simply dumb and makes no sense, you don’t spend that much screentime of a character building said feelings up to then have they give up when the other one doesn’t immediately love them solely to sell this idea of maturity, if that was the goal they’d focus more on it on earlier volumes and deal with it quickly (plus he literally died for her, kind of awkward to not follow through with the subplot after that)
the deal with Allura not being in love with Lance, well it happened mid season, while she was still being woo’d by Lotor and before she learned he was comitting genocide on a global scale
Also note how these relationships were build up, Lotor did nothing but constantly tell Allura how awesome she was and how he’d never get anything done were not for her, he was constantly making moves on her by forcing this romantic vibe on a constant basis, basically he won her over by constantly using pick-up lines
the scene where she learns that LAnce actually loves her and not just hits on her like he used to do to every other girl, her reaction was that of pity/sadness that he felt that way because she liked Lotor
Then Lotor turned evil and on a non romantic scene (wich ironically is what makes it romantic) Lance comes to her and pretty much does the same that Lotor did, tell her how awesome she is, but unlike Lotor, it comes from a place of actual respect, Lance admires and respects Allura as an individual, and that is why he grew to love her, she realized it by the end of season 6, and knowing he liked her would help getting her to either start liking him or getting the feelings that were there to emerge and morph into love, culminating in the scenes from the last episodes where they make it clear she also loves him
Grantes, yes it short of came out of nowhee given that on previous episodes they basically had no interactions by themselves, specially on Allura’s part that would help show a progression
but then again next Season IS the last season to they might have rushed it because of that, this show has always had some pacing problems in the end
Acxa and Keith tho, they have had few interactions, and I think that is enough
unlike Lance, that had a lot of his character based on a romantic subplot, Keith has a lot of plot going on for him, so it is not necessary for him to get a lot of screentime dedicated to it, specially since Acxa is a really secondary character that doesn’t appear much on the plot
the whole scene with the other ones basically screaming at the camera that she had feelings for Keith were probably meant for the audience to make it clear, given how many people were still passing the whole sister theory around (even tho it was never shown to have any proof or anything that would led one to consider it being true, also because having them being siblings given the ammount of coinsidences that led them to believe and form a very weird and f**ked up “friendship” would just be bad writting) and because Klance was still a thing going strong, also the characters didn’t pay much mind to it because it was clear the others were just taunting them
it does seem that from now on they will build something that could become a relationship, since they already had short of a mutual respect and now they can build it up more without needing to kill each other everytime they meet
Overall, this insanely long post is solely my opinion on the matter, that Voltron Season 7 was amazing and that maybe I can get someone to look at it on a new light
Hopefully
seriously tho it was an amazing season, I mean have you guys seen the final fight? Holy S**t

MORE Sex, Love and Robots. A Darling in the Franx Analysis Part 2
Now we wanna clarify an interesting detail that we spotted in our Part 1 post. For those who haven’t read Part 1 yet you can click on right here to catch up with us in this crazy train of thought and discussion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We all know the city is just underneath the surface level of the dome and not literally, but it’s still funny to see this trope still fairly common, alive and still giving people brainfarts.
Tumblr media
“wait but..underground? But doesn’t it move? But it’s in the dome? Skyscrapers?Bu...buuwat.”
Last time we left off we were talking about Zero Two and her interactions with Hiro. We can tell you from the get go that Hiro isn’t as much of a solid character as Zero Two is, which is kinda very disappointing, and you’ll see this with other characters that haven’t gone through proper development (yet).
We are introduced to Hiro as he pounders on his inability to pilot EVAs a Franxx with his partner Naomi and getting a boner. This isn’t some teenage angst, this is literally a boy thinking about how his limitations are affecting his teammates and his life purpose, and without being able to fulfill it and not having any other reason to live logically, he falls into a deep depression and describes himself as a Jian bird; a Chinese mythological bird that has one eye and one wing. Due to this condition the birds have to find pairs that they largely depend on to fly, kinda like how 2 pilots are necessary to ride a Franxx and successfully “fly”.
Tumblr media
-”2 birds that make 1...Doesn’t it remind you of something else?
Tumblr media
HECK YES WE DID. With the power of love.”
When he was a child though, he was considered a prodigy as he would be quick to question his controlled environment, scored high on the tests he was given and gave the children in his plantation individualities by giving them proper names made with their number codes. When he meets Zero Two and has a wider look at what the “Cage” really is, he decides to escape with her but ultimately fails at the attempt and gets his memory wiped clean, turning him into the empty shell of depression we get at the beginning. What we disliked about Hiro is the fact that his personality ends here, at least as a stand alone character. His interactions with Zero Two gives us a peak on how desperate he is to fulfill his duty as a parasite and help out his squad, even sacrificing his life for it and causing him to make life threatening decisions. What snaps him out of this toxic conduct however, is how much not only Zero Two relies on him but how his whole team needs him and how he can’t afford to die if someone genuinely needs him, which is the first time he’s ever felt that as he had been a constant failure. All in all what makes Hiro an interesting character is simply the relationship he harbours with Zero Two so far.
Tumblr media
The next character on the list would be Ichigo... we say this as we feel the death stares from the thousands of Ichigo haters that made a scandal over episode 14, waiting for us to say something negative about her or completely trash her as a character. Sadly, for those of you who fit the description, we won’t be doing that because 1) This is a serious and objective (as objective as we can get) analysis where, if we need to trash someone, it’s because they really don’t make sense and are not considered people; just trash because 2) She is not a bad character and specially not a terrible person.
We know what you’re thinking; Ichigo DOES let her flaws get the best of her. She’s an anxious, selfish wreck that takes advantage of Goro and Hiro on an emotional level, tends to meddle in other people’s choices, sometimes putting her interests and feelings before anything even at the cost of everyone’s well being and is generally not honest to her squad, or even to herself, about her personal motivations. She constantly tries to get Zero Two removed from the squad even though Zero Two is the only pistil that Hiro can ride with, as well as the fact that her presence greatly increased the team's battle effectiveness and her perfectionism makes her stress over any and every mistake which has interrupted the flow of important missions, leading to moments like this:
Tumblr media
...And it makes sense.
But while we list these characteristics and your hatred towards her does not change, we also want to clarify 2 points that reveal major details about her:
Firstly, she’s the leader of Squad 13 and the responsibility of hiding her own feelings to prioritize certain agendas causes all this inner stress, anxiety and perfectionism in the first place, as she has to carry the dead weight of commanding on her back at such a young age. This also explains why she’s generally not honest and usually has her panic attacks inside the Franxx, where only Goro can see her, who effectively knows how to calm her down and acts as a positive influence in her decisions as both are mature and quick to share their true feelings and opinions with each other, making their relationship relatively more healthy than any of the others on the team.
Secondly,  you know who else has a hard time making decisions between harming the people they loves and harming herself? Who also is selfish and sometimes puts their objectives before others and ends up hurting everyone on the way?
That’s right
Tumblr media
Zero Two.
...Jokes and fanon aside, it’s also this girl:
Tumblr media
You know who else? Real, normal people. So trashing her for her reactions is a lil toooo much. It becomes justified later on since Zero Two almost willingly killed Hiro before she eventually came to her senses and treats him like a tool. We need to remember that Hiro has been Ichigo’s friend and crush for probably most of her life, as well as one of the only remaining friends she has; imagine you are in her situation and you are seeing someone you are clearly in love with self-destruct over an addiction they have, you just want them to notice how much of a better partner they would be if only they’d give you a chance….That, hit a very hard key for us on a very deep emotional level and you can’t help but hear this song in the background once you think about it. Hiro and Zero Two had harboured an abusive relationship no matter how rose colored you want to paint it.
Speaking of Ichigo and relationships, we stated that her interactions with Goro were very mature, communicative and understanding. Ichigo, while not openly admitting it, likes to ride with Goro as she feels at ease with him and they complement each other perfectly; she as a leader has to take stone cold decisions that might seem cruel, but behind the scenes this genuinely wears her out emotionally. He is the emotional assistance that looks after everyone’s well being and works as a strong pillar of trust for her when she’s weak. Since the start, Goro is shown always worried about the others and gives as much support as he can, so much that he was fine with Ichigo doing a test-ride with Hiro and despite being in love with her, he is just fine if she just sees him as a partner. His flaw is essentially the fact that he is so giving and selfless, to the point where loyalty between his 2 best friends Ichigo and Hiro starts to become emotional baggage as he realizes he is in love with Ichigo, while the latter is head over heels for Hiro. We also HAVE to comment on how beautifully the love triangle was resolved: Goro decides to confess to Ichigo regardless, and is relieved in realizing that he loves both of them equally and values their individual choices, which was just SO sweet that once the episode ended our tears were just cubes of sugar.
Tumblr media
Goro is the true MVP.
Moving onto our next set of characters, we’ll be talking about Mitsuru and Ikuno.
Mitsuru was a very interesting character for us and getting to understand him was one of our favorite parts. He is introduced as that one arrogant friend in our group that is an unlikable pile of steaming hot pride with a stick up his butt (more or less like Zorome as they both constantly bashed on Hiro for his “inferiority”) that likes to think highly of himself, disregards his partner entirely and blames all his failures on the people around him.
Tumblr media
*sips milk* *stares down at plebs*
As the episodes progress however, we realize that as a child, Mitsuru was fragile and he was deemed not apt to pilot a Franxx for his condition. This stresses him out as he was a great admirer of the prodigious child that was Hiro, and since his dream was to pilot alongside him, he had to push himself into taking the lethal Elixir Injection, that has a 15% survival rate, and came out miraculously alive, only to be greeted with a now empty shell of the former Hiro who had long forgotten about the promise they both made to each other after the memory wipe. This devastates Mitsuru and he grows into the lil sour boy we see in the series; never wanting to be looked down upon for his weakness and hides this by being a snob, unable to trust anyone but himself to do the job right. We also get that because of his fragility and how strongly his self loathing weighs on him and it makes him constantly gamble on his own health and safety to obtain power. He knew the Elixir Injection had the slimmest chances of survival, yet he took the risk. He knew Zero Two was the infamous “Partner Killer”, yet he rode with her and took the risk, in a desperate attempt to amplify his self worth and prove that he was a match for his now fallen idol. Then again, we all knew how well THAT went for him:
Tumblr media
Genius
We found that scene complementary in general but what we disliked was how it had a lack of build up to it, making it feel rushed and completely out of the blue. It’s only later on when we truly understand why these events took place, but it had the potential to be presented in a more... Fitting and understandable manner.
While he and Ikuno are not particularly fond of each other, they have similar backstories to their ways of being and mannerisms, making them easily communicate with simple glares, nods and small talk while also acting as professional as possible. Ikuno wanted to be able to pilot a Franxx with Ichigo while Mitsuru also wished for the same thing with Hiro. For different reasons however, that didn't happen, and it left them crushed. Ikuno so far has not gotten proper character development, at least not as much as Mitsuru and the rest of the people we’ve mentioned so far, which we would just LOVE to see later in the series as she has soooo much untapped potential to dive into. We know that she’s a very reclusive, quiet and literate girl partially due to her orientation and how hostile her environment is towards such thing. In order to fit in and fulfill her duty as a parasite, she is forced to pilot alongside a stamen. While we know we should only focus on the Anime since this is a review of the Anime and not the Manga, we feel that the Manga had added an extra depth to her much earlier into the series:
Tumblr media
The reason she “suddenly” couldn’t connect to Mitsuru before he decides to pilot with 02, was because she was given a pep talk by Ichigo before that same mission, distracting her, unable to sync up.
Tumblr media
Then she realizes she needs to fix this problem to avoid being a burden for the team, so her resolve of coping with these conflicting feelings she was having was to do this:
Tumblr media
This was not explicitly presented in the Anime, but in the Manga they explain that the only way she can possibly connect to Mitsuru is while fantasizing about Ichigo, which adds a little more depth to how real and relatable she can be as a character, as they display an actual coping method people use to escape their undesired current relationships, in contrast to her blandness so far in the Anime, where she only occasionally appears and conveniently disappears into the background like a satellite.
Their unstable relationship will end with the partner switch that was being foreshadowed with anticipation, thus we will be covering Kokoro and Futoshi... In paaaaaaaart 3! If you read this but not the previous part, here’s also Part 1 for a much more throughout enjoyment! And including Part 4 and Part 5.
Since this is an ongoing series, episodes 14-24 will be discussed on the series finale so we can pour in more thought and time into it. Meanwhile, we will point out things here and there about the recent episodes, mostly meme about it OR recommend other anime, manga, books and this game from this year (boi o boii).

Unpopular Opinion: VLD S7 was Brilliant
I love season seven.
Major spoiler warning if you haven't seen it (or S6) yet.
I am unashamed to say it. I finally got a chance to finish watching it this weekend, and Holy Hannah, the game has changed. Each and every episode (minus "The Feud", of course) was dedicated to re-building the universe around a new order caused by the culmination of events of season six, and sacrificing the Castle of Lions.
The Castle's destruction meant that something big was coming. Change was on the horizon and inevitable as the sunrise itself. And something big did happen. The paladins have never been on such a level of cohesion. Yes, they came a long way from a rag-tag group of cadets scrambled on short notice; but not everyone was on the same page. And they had all just gotten off an immense emotional roller coaster (Season 6), of course tensions would be high. But opening up is not the easiest thing for anyone, let alone a secretive techie, an insecure flirt, a temperamental lone wolf, and a person who literally lost their entire world and then some. Being pushed to the brink of insanity brought out a lot, hopefully put some skeletons to rest. And as a result of this pushing, they are beginning to exceed their predecessors.
Now, Earth was going to become a player in the conflict proper sooner or later, and people, specifically Galaxy Garrison personnel, dying on the front-lines was inescapable. Who died, died because they followed orders like good soldiers, and died a soldier's death. And that's just the military. Who knows how many civilians lost their lives in the first wave alone? Death follows war, no matter who fights, who doesn’t, who wins, or who loses. And Commander Holt's return and the Garrison's reaction was also handled as realistically as an Earth post World War III would. With the utmost caution, even with evidence of an intergalactic war staring them right in the face. As depicted, humans can be quite dense, stubborn, and sometimes just want to be right no matter what. Hence the following of protocol in spite of being told that protocol would be utterly ineffective in the face of highly advanced alien war technologies. (People needlessly took Ion Canon Fire to the face, in Earth tech-only crafts, those pilots dead. Good job Sanda)
And Hunk's arc, that was beautiful. We finally see what we haven't truly noticed for six seasons. That Hunk is a braveheart. It takes courage to admit fear. And a whole lot more to face it in spite of that. Hunk has freely admitted to being realistically afraid of dangers that any normal human being would cower in fear from at the very sight of. But in spite of that, when push came to shove he has always been willing to go into danger and join the fight. Would Hunk rather not be a hero on the front-line? Definitely. But who among the living would be willing to sacrifice their life at a moment's notice? Certainly not me. Hunk has always been a hero, this season just let him shine.
And then there's the IGF-Atlas. Oh sweet Lord, the Atlas. An amazing blend of Altean, Glaran, Advanced Earth technologies, all (possibly) fused together by Olkari technique. Then to be powered by the Castle-Crystal from S6, oh what a trip. And it makes sense that a crystal made from dozens of collapsing blackholes, several quintessence rifts and the explosion of a magitech Altean vessel and the Battle-class Balmeran crystal inside it, would be powerful enough power and upgrade the Atlas; in spite of its size. And its particle barrier was so strong it actually withstood sustained fire from SIX Zaiforge cannons. The Castle of Lions would have never survived that. Though, to be completely fair, after 10,000 years of inactivity, the Castle was probably past peak operation, or even just "rusty" from disuse.
And then Shiro. Beautiful Shiro. Our beloved Space Dad. The one who led the Atlas crew effortlessly; who snuck into a fortified Galran Battle Cruiser; who -- during his infiltration -- left complete sentry carnage in his wake, got into the power core, blew it up, snuck back out, and -- after all that -- fought and held his own against Sendak on the top of said Battle Cruiser crashing at terminal velocity, after having his soul/consciousness transferred from within the Black Lion into a clone body; that same Shiro, some-way, somehow (I'm still speculating the specifics of how) turned the Atlas, an already epic Battle Cruiser, into a giant mecha more than twice the size Voltron itself. As if it already wasn't cool enough.
Other high points for me were when Shiro quietly, politely, cut Lance though for a crack about forgetting something after all he's been through, and Hunk and Romelle sharing concerns for the team's general cavalier attitude to danger. And of course Coleen Holt. Full stop. She needs no explanation.
Full disclosure: I went into this season with my own fears and reservations. But I have to thank and congratulate the writers, producers, storyboarders, directors, artists, and of course, the voice actors for all their hard work on this masterpiece. It's been over twelve hours since I've finished watching it, and as I write this, my heart still isn't beating the same way it did before. And for a work of fiction to do that, to invigorate me like that is nothing less than inspiring. As a writer, I want to do for others as this season, and Voltron: Legendary Defender has done for me as a whole. To open up the imagination of my audience and immerse them in a different reality entirely. And they've done it in spite of bullying, hate, threats, and general harassment. I admire their strength for it. I don't know how I would've survived under fire and still bring my A-Game like that, if I were in such a position.
To wrap up: this season was wonderful, and I wait with bated breath for the next one.

Grey's Anatomy heats up in firefighter-set spin-off — first look | EW
Shondaland’s stake in Seattle is expanding with a Grey’s Anatomy spin-off set at a nearby firehouse — and EW has the exclusive first look!
Jokingly referred to as Blaze Anatomy, the still-unnamed offshoot focuses on first responders whose high-stakes rescues have more drama than Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. “Our hero characters aren’t just saving lives, they’re putting their own lives at risk,” says showrunner Stacy McKee.
The 10-episode drama follows a team — including father figure Captain Pruitt Herrera (Miguel Sandoval), charismatic charmer Jack (Grey Damon), and leading lady Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz), whom McKee calls an “emotional anchor” for the show — as they complete 24-hour shifts. Grey’s regular Ben Warren (Jason George) launches the new series in March when he trades his scrubs for a spot in the firehouse. How much will the spin-off then cross over with the flagship? Get all the details from McKee below. (Check back later for more first look photos and our Q&A with Jason George.)
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Does the Grey’s spin-off have an actual name yet? STACY McKEE: [Laughs] Nope, not yet! We don’t have a name. You should see the bulletin board in my office. We have hundreds of Post-its on it with possible names. It’s pretty fantastic.
I heard a temporary name jokingly being thrown around on set is Blaze Anatomy. As a joke.
What was the first germ of an idea to do a firefighter-set spin-off of Grey’s? I knew that I wanted to find a show that could match Grey’s in stakes, intensity, and tone. I wanted something where we could be laughing, and crying, and throwing things at our television all in the same episode. I always want to tell stories from characters first, so I just loved this idea of having some kind of big, awesome, hilarious, sometimes dysfunctional work family, and the fire station just seemed to work as a really natural setting for that. Plus, it’s an extension of the existing Grey’s Anatomy world. I mean, how many times have we seen first responders in the background rushing into the breezeway, dropping off patients and leaving? This way, we just get the chance to jump back into the rig with them and drive away.
How do you feel the spin-off is thematically and tonally either similar or different from Grey’s? The show is different from Grey’s because our hero characters aren’t just saving lives, they’re also putting their own lives at risk in the process. The very nature of their jobs will put these characters out into the streets, on location, immersed in their patients’ lives in a way that’s a lot more visceral and a little bit more messy. It isn’t the perfectly draped body in an OR. They’re responding to a patient on-sight, the scene of an accident, their homes, it’s just a different energy. There’s no safety net there. Gosh, it’s so similar, too. As much as we’re out and enjoying all of the action, there’s just so much heart and humor, and sexy time — all of that, plus this great shot of adrenaline.
How much will the show actually cross over with Grey’s? When Private Practice did it, it was more of a major event, whereas shows from the Chicago franchise do it more weekly, but smaller cameos. Will you lean more toward that? We’ll see. I don’t know yet. We just finished shooting the pilot, so we’ll see what the crossover potential is. There’s so much, which is so great. The worlds are so rich. Because they coexist, we have the option to do it just a little or a lot. We’re open to all of those possibilities. There’s just a tremendous amount of cross-pollination that could happen. I can’t tell you how many times I would walk into the Grey’s writers’ room and would pitch some crazy, amazing patient story, and everyone would be like, “Yeah, that’s great, Stacy, but all of the cool parts of that happens off-screen. We have to treat them once they get into the hospital.” Now, with this show, I get to do all of that off-screen stuff, so to me, the possibilities for cross-pollination are limitless, because what if we could just do it all if we want?
In terms of the two writers’ rooms, are you talking to each other a lot about how you can interweave these stories moving forward? Of course. We’re throwing every idea against the wall, and it’s like spaghetti, we’ll see what sticks. What’s fantastic about this show is because it’s Grey’s Anatomy-adjacent, there’s the potential for things to connect really, really easily. With Private Practice, even if we did a crossover, we always had to build into the story that there was a change of location, because Private was located in Los Angeles and Grey’s has always been in Seattle. This show takes place in a Seattle fire station that could, in theory, be just a few blocks down from Grey Sloan Memorial. Plus, I know all the writers over at Grey’s and vice versa, so it’ll be a very symbiotic relationship.
There have been some pretty memorable patients on Grey’s, particularly the two conjoined by a pole. Would you ever consider doing flashbacks to some of those big moments we’ve seen on Grey’s over the years? I mean, maybe, it’s such a cool idea. I do now! I love it. I’m writing that down. Note to self. Hmm, interesting. I’m going to the room after this. [Laughs]
Ben Warren is moving from the flagship to the spin-off. Can you talk about how that character is the connective tissue between these two shows? Yeah, he’s definitely a lot of connective tissue. What’s really nice is that, for his character, he’s going to be so new to this whole first responder firefighter world in the same way that any of us, our diehard Grey’s Anatomy fans, will be. So if it’s new for him, it’s new for us, too, which will be a really helpful, fantastic way of storytelling. He’ll be fundamental connective tissue.
What can you tease of other characters we’ll see on the show? Oh my gosh, they’re so fantastic. I’m giddy. They’re really fun, strong, a little messed up, and completely unique in all sorts of different ways. There’s Andy Herrera, who is played by Jaina Lee Ortiz, and she’s this pretty fantastic, badass firefighter, and she’s going to be a real emotional anchor for the show. There’s going to be firefighters from all different ranks, from captain all the way down to the newest probie. It’s a firefighting team of about seven, and three of them are going to be women; we have all ethnicities, all different sexualities. But at the end of the day, it’s just a real family of characters — not necessarily related by blood, but definitely a family.
Miguel Sandoval is playing the captain, so how does he compare to some of the authority figures we have on Grey’s, like Bailey and Webber? Oh yeah, he’s definitely a bit of a father figure to this whole group of misfits in the station.
What does being set in a firehouse afford the show to do that you may not have been able to do at Grey Sloan? We get to go to the accident, we get to run into the fire. There’s just this opportunity for so much more action, stunts and big set pieces like that, which is really, really fun. And a firefighter shift is literally 24 hours long, so you have these characters who are both working together — saving lives together and saving each other’s lives together — and living together for a minimum of 24 hours at a time, so they’re all up in each other’s business. Plus, we get to ride on firetrucks, which is everybody’s dream. I mean, don’t you want to ride a firetruck? It’s the best!
What kind of consultants do you have on this show compared to Grey’s? We basically have the equivalent of that, but for firefighting. We have firefighters and EMTs, who are both on set and consulting on the creative side, so we have a tremendous amount of resources in that way. We’ve also been in communication with firehouses both in Los Angeles and in Seattle, because some of the firefighting specifics are regional, so we’ve been trying to make sure that what we do is Seattle specific.
So a lot of rain then? [Laughs] Well, as much as you can do when you’re filming in L.A.
Grey’s has been hinting at Ben’s decision to change jobs, but how will the show really start to introduce this spin-off as we head into the back half of the season before its launch? Yes, they’ve definitely been setting the stage for Ben on Grey’s this season, and a little later this season, there will be an episode where we’ll actually get to meet one of the characters from the spin-off, just as a story within the episode. It’ll be Jaina’s character, Andy Herrera, and it’s going to be such a fun, fantastic introduction to her character. It will also showcase a really lovely story for Ben, where we get to just juxtapose his two worlds and see his reaction as he transitions from one world to the next. We’re actually shooting it right now. It’s going to be so good.
Ben has been training for this, but how might he struggle taking on this new profession? This is Shondaland, you know we’re not going to make it easy for him ever. He’ll definitely struggle and he’ll thrive. My goal is for him to have ups and downs, and to experience things that just give him such an adrenaline rush, and help him get so excited, and then in the next breath, he’ll face things that will rock him to his core. If we can do that for Ben, and then go on that journey with him, it’s going to be a pretty fantastic ride.
When it was announced that Jason was moving to the spin-off, a lot of fans thought that would spell bad news for Ben and Bailey. Do you want to give fans some hope? I don’t think anyone should feel hopeless.
Grey’s Anatomy is in season 14 and just hit its 300th episode. Is that added pressure in launching this show, or less considering this strong foundation? I don’t think about the pressure at all. I mean, I was there at Grey’s, I was an assistant on the pilot, I started as a writer in season 1, I was there for almost every one of those 300 episodes, so truly all I feel right now is excitement. I’m just so thrilled about this show and it moving forward and how it can connect to Grey’s and how it’s just an extension of the universe to me. I’m just geeked out. I’m basically a fan first and a writer second, and I just think it’s going to be fantastic.
The Grey’s Anatomy spin-off will first launch in an episode of the flagship slated for March before debuting sometime in the spring. Check back later for more first look photos and our Q&A with Jason George.

A lil Keith theory+ character analysis (kinda) ALSO LANCE IS KEITH’S STABILITY EXPLAINED
Ya girl is back with a theory that quite honestly breaks my heart. But it has nesttled itself into my head and oh boy, oh boy does this make me sad.
BPD, or borderline personality disorder is a mental illness a lot of people don’t really understand. Its also pretty hard to diagnose for some reason and often confused with bipolar depression and autism.
Lets take a look at the symptoms;
Having an unstable or dysfunctional self-image or a distorted sense of self (how one feels about one’s self). Keith definitely has a problem with feeling worthless. We all know that Lance has problems with insecurity, but what goes over a lot of people’s heads is that Keith does too. He assumes people dont like him, the only thing he’s actually sort of proud off are his flying skills. He doesn’t want to lead Voltron cause he doesn’t think he’s any good as a leader, and while he’s not as good at it as Shiro, he defnitely has some leader qualities but he doesn’t see them himself. He came a long way in season 3 in a very short time but he didn’t see it.  And his self-sacrifice at through-out of season 4? It could just be the blade of marmora influencing him with their “the mission is more important than the individual” crap, but I don’t think it is. He goes back for other memembers and even tries to fight Kolivan to save the guy when he would maybe be able to throw the guy to safety but never run back himself. And the final eppisode? Keith cares more about anyone and anything than himself. He’s literally willing to die to save anyone else.
Feelings of isolation, boredom and emptiness. We all know Keith suffers from not really feeling a connection with others. He’s literally been on a ship in space with six other people for God knows how long and they still describe him as the lone wolf, he still trains on his own all the time. And the common misconception is that he wants to be alone. He really, really, really doesn’t. I cannot stress enough how much this boy would love to join in on the fun all the time, to not be so far away from the rest of them, but he just can’t.  He’s too scarred he’ll be rejected or something along those lines so instead he just... Lone wolfs it.
Difficulty feeling empathy for others.  I decided against highlighting this one because we haven’t really seen a lot of it. Although, there have been a few cases of this, like when Pidge tried to leave. In my personal opinion, I don’t think he can summon the empathy very well unless he’s going through or has been through the same thing.  When he and Allura went out to space because they both though Zarkon was tracking them he showed quite a bit of empathy towards her but that was also because they were in the same boat (no pun intended) he was sort of going through the same thing. So he understood. When Lance came to him with his issues of insecurrity he got it because he’s scarred of being kicked out too. Of not being a valueable member to the team.  But when Pidge wanted to go find her family he couldn’t relate. Cause he’s never really had a family to look for. We don’t know what happened with his dad, whether he died or just up and left like his mum did. But seeming it’s more logical, lets assume his dad did die, he doesn’t know his mother, so... He doesn’t understand Pidge wanting to look for her brother.  You may argue that he had Shiro to look for, but if you watch the first episode of season one its pretty clear he wasn’t looking for Shiro. He’s surprised to see him there and he was tracking Voltron before that. Finding Shiro was merely conicidental.
A history of unstable relationships that can change drastically from intense love and idealization to intense hate.  Again, I didn’t want to highlight this one because, well, we don’t know enough about his backstory to be able to judge if he’s had unstable relationships in the past.  However, you cant tell me he doesn’t have and intense idealization of Shiro that kinda turned into a sort of hate (but not really) when he was left in charge of Voltron. But that’s all I got on that one. He doesn’t really seem to hate people or idealise them (apart from Shiro) Some may argue that he hated Lance in season one, but honestly, I call bullshit on that. Annoyance, yes. Hate, no.  Annoyed neutrality.
A persistent fear of abandonment and rejection, including extreme emotional reactions to real and even perceived abandonment I feel like I dont have to go into this.... So I wont... AT LEAST NOT THE OVERLY OBVIOUS STUFF.  Okay so, our boy has abandonment issues. We all knew that. But I honestly don’t think y’all are seeing just how far this stuff actually goes.  When he though Lance hated him (EXACTLY HOW CANNON THE HATE IS IS UP FOR DISSCUSSION, FIGHT ME ANNONS) he really didn’t want much to do with him. Even made a few jabs at him so that he could reject Lance first.  With the B.O.M however, we see him literally almost work himself to death during the trails in fear of being rejected to the group. The boy has major issues with self esteem, which is probably why he did so well at the garrison, cause he needs those results to feel okay about himself. He doesn’t think he’s good enough so he works towards being better, yes its pragmatic, but ultimately he’ll end up.... oh I don’t know... sacrificing himself.
Intense, highly changeable moods that can last for several days or for just a few hours.  Again, I didn’t highlight this one because, well I don’t have too much to back it up other than that he seems very easy to upset. A little comment like that he’s the lone wolf, even though he’s trying to fit in can really get to him. And just... can people stop hurting my baby please?
Strong feelings of anxiety, worry and depression Honestly, this is another one I don’t feel like I have to explain. It just, Keith is a guy that worries a lot, and he definitely has anxiety when it comes to interacting with others. From the way he talks about his mother to the way he looked at his blade when he was figuring out his Galra identity, and the look on his face when the others were pissed off at him in season 4, I think depression is definitely a concept he touches on. Maybe not fullblown, actual depression, but I think he has... issues with feeling like a depressed person feels sometimes.  But he’s never actually vocalized this, so this may be me projecting. Though he does show some general symptoms fo depression.
Impulsive, risky, self-destructive and dangerous behaviors, including reckless driving, drug or alcohol abuse and having unsafe sex I just, r e c k l e s s  d r i v i n g  Yes, he’s a skilled pilot but you cannot tell me he doesn’t throw caution to the wind a lot.  Also remember that king he held hostage?  Also remember how he worked himself to death during the B.O.M trials? Also remember the self sacrifice?  Also remember the putting himself in danger to safe his teammates?  Also remember how he ran away with Allura in the middle of the night because he THOUGHT he MIGHT be getting tracked and left the team unable to form Voltron without telling anyone?
Hostility “What? Keith is a total hothead”- Lance, 2016.  No but, Keith has said himself that he can be this way.  Even Shiro has pointed it out to him. This one is kinda also just very self explanitory.
Unstable career plans, goals and aspirations Well I mean, his plans do kinda seem to be all over the place. He got kicked out of the Garrison... and tracked alien life for a year???  And other than finding Shiro in season 2-3 and joining the blade he never really has a long term plan. His only goal is defeating the Galra, it doesnt go deeper than that. He doesnt necessarily want to go home or settle down. He has no plan. He just kinda floats through life.
With BPD you have these things called modi. Modi are... in simple terms, fragments of your personality. There are five modi, the protector, the strict/punishing parent, the abandoned/abused child, the angry/impulsive child and the healthy grown up. Everybody sort of has these a little bit, but when you have BPD your healthy adult mode is a little... under developed/overwhelmed by the other modi.
I personally also suffer from BPD and I honestly see a lot of these modi in Keith. The protector is the main one that seems to be present with him. (I also have this one, I call mine richard/dick for short). The protector’s main job is keeping people at arm’s lenght, its hard to get past this guy, esspecially if he’s the main dude running the show. Keith’s protector seems to work a lot with the impulsive child which is why he has such dificulty being a leader.
I want to give an example here of how Keith’s modi seem to coexist;
So lets take the scene where he just started leading Voltron and he chased Lotor into the gassplanet. So, he has an objective; get Lotor. His strict parrent modi will lock onto this WITH A FUCKING DEATH GRIP. It doesn’t matter what he has to do, he needs to get his objective. The impulsive child then takes over with the the stirct parent fueling him by telling him he needs to do this, when the team tells him to stop the protector shrugs them off.
Later, once he failed, and lost everyone, the child and the protector regress, leaving the abandoned child and the strict parrent to yell at it and make the child feel like shit about itself. This is when Keith is vulnerable. That’s why Lance could approach him, and he knows it. And while acknowledging that Keith fucked up, he appeals to the healthy adult in his system to try and get him to move on.
THAT is why Lance is so good for him and why he stablizes Keith mentally. He is able to tell him that he made a mistake while still accesing the healthy grown-up. Shiro, on the other hand, doesn’t do that. He is constantly trying to shape Keith to be better and sometimes, yes he gets through to Keith’s healthy adult and stuff (patience yeilds focus), but mostly he appeals to the strict parent telling him to be better.
It doesn’t surprise me that that’s why he saw Shiro during the Galra trials. He really, really, really wants his approval. He might even see Shiro as the strict modi if he were to personify it.
I hope you’re as sad about this as I am, because it’s two a.m and this suddenly hit me like 20 minutes ago and I’ve been keeping my emotions in check ever since.

Voltron: Legendary Defender season 3
Live-reactions to season 3 of Voltron: I have a bottle of wine and a whole night ahead of me, so let’s do this! <3 Heavy spoilers, meta thoughts and a lot of caps lock under the cut!</p>
1. „Changing of the guard”
I am very much in love with how everyone is behaving (look at Lance and Hunk being awesome, look at the Blade of Marmora finally helping, look at Allura being a teen: yes, yes, yes!), but I am upset that only Keith is taking Shiro’s disappearance so badly. Like didn’t he have a strong relationship with Pidge…? And she is is only focused on finding Matt…? What about her father? And wasn’t Lance something like his no.1 fan…? This is like a classic example of: what the fuck hero?
Though I am happy to see Lance having friendly moments with everyone: from random alien girls, to Pidge and Hunk and Keith. Let my bby boy have all the love and friendship he deserves. No more 7th wheel bullshit please.
I’m already in love with Lotor and his Generals (the trailer nor the pictures didn’t prepare me for the affection I feel towards them) and I only hope for a sword fight between Lotor and Keith. Also, could the by like half-brothers, maybe? Or cousins? I would like that. Or maybe one of the Generals could be Keith’s mother. I just want a badass Keith-Lotor confrontation. I don’t even care who would win *cough* Lotor *cough*
Also, Lotor would make a fine Paladin. Just saying, with such speeches? Such manipulation skills? With that smile? And… Yeah. Great character there. Yep. Sorry, I will be biased.
ALSO LANCE I LOVE YOU, I KNEW YOU WERE MY FAVORITE, YES YOU ARE. That “hey, listen man” broke me. Jeremy you are such a good VA, that was awesome, my kudos to you. That whole scene was great: from the emotional aspect and how everyone looked at someone else and Lance didn’t, he was just looking ad Keith and thinking what to do and he knew it had to be him and… YES THAT WAS GREAT. LET MY BLUE BABY BE THE GLUE THAT STICKS THEM ALL TOGETHER AND HELPS HIS FRIENDS OUT AND AAAAAAH. I love Lance, okay? I loved that scene as a whole thing: I just feel it should have happened sooner? IDK.
2. “Red Paladin”
I swear to God, my first thought was: They are awesome, I am so gay for that one General, Ezor. She is exactly that batshit crazy friendly type that I’m scared of. Acxa is also great (so loyal <3) and so is Zethrid (I look at her and think of Overwatch’s Zarya). I think that I’m too confused about Narti to have an opinion on her, but I do love her fighting technique. Basically: I love them all. And that is not a good reaction, I think *sobs* Now imagine Voltron as Lotor and his 4 General Ladies. That would be badass. Not really good for the Universe, but badass.<br>
Ahem. This whole taking planets by friendly manipulation business, for me, as a Pole is such a great concept, that it makes me applaud the creators for taking that route. We know from history that this works. We know that in the tie of need the overtaken planets have to ways of behaving and maybe the societies will split because of individual decisions of people. But it is such a nice concept and it does make Lotor an awesome villain. Way better thank Zarkon in my opinion. And way better than his 80’s counterpart, that’s for sure.
Please don’t categorize Lance as a goofball. Please. Think of his self-esteem.
Pidge, you are way too smart for this.
Keith I love you, but don’t be so emo. Also, why didn’t anyone say that either him or Lance or Hunk are the pretty boys of the squad? BECAUSE THEY ARE.
The trying out Black Lion thing was both hilarious and insightful, because yeah: that is exactly what I expected and wanted and yet I couldn’t even try to imagine Pidge having seating problems and I feel you girl, I’m fucking tiny, I laughed my ass off so much, I had tears in my eyes. #short people problems.
ALSO FUCK ME, KEITH IS BEING SUCH A GREAT CHARACTER. LOOK HOW FAR DID HE COME FROM 1st SEASON. YES. Also Steven’s VA is A+ and I am swooning at that “please, no” with a small vibration and lots of pain in his voice and ugh. Such an awesome cast, such a great show.
SO BACK TO OUT BLUE BABY BOY. SOMEONE HUG HIM. AND WE ARE 2 EPISODES IN AND HE IS CONSTANTLY COMFORTING KEITH? THEY’RE HAVING BONDING MOMENTS *I bet Leith fangirls are crazy* YES LET HIM BE SO AWESOME <3 LET HIM BE THE OLDER BROTHER CHARACTER THEY ALL NEED <3<br>
OKAY SCRATCH THAT, SOMEONE HUG ALLURA. JFC, I shouldn’t get so emotional over this, but. Good writing is good.
BLUE, YOU SMART GIRL YOU, WHO IS THE SMARTEST LION? YES YOU ARE! YES YOU ARE! <3 I was wondering how they will solve this Lion shenanigans, I think I really love the solution. That and Lance trying pick-up lines on Blue. That was amazing. What wasn’t so amazing: the other kick to my gut to the line of ‘do you hate me now’. Ugh.<br>
OH LOOK MORE CONFIDENCE ISSUES FOR LANCE. UGH NO. NO NO NO. I HAD ENOUGH OF LANGST. STOP IT.
RED YOU SMART GIRL.
ALLURA YOU SMART GIRL.
I LOVE ALL GIRLS IN THIS SHOW.
Oh look at that. Lotor definitely wants to be a pilot for Black. No wonder he has 4 Generals. SO my idea about badass villain Voltorn is pretty much confirmed by that. *James Oliver voice* cool.
Okay, but I still very much love Blue and Lance together? Like hey, don’t split them up, I know this is temporary, but… I really hate seeing him and Blue split up and Red and Keith split up and… OH HEY A LANLLURA MOMENT <3 (help what is their ship name????)<br>
JFC, SOMEONE RESTRAIN KEITH.
Thank God, all of the episodes are streaming, or I would literally die if I had to wait more than 1 minute after each episode.
3. “The Hunted”
Okay, I need more of this Lance being concerned by his fellow Paladins thing, because it’s doing wonders for my psyche. Also: Hunk is the most adorable Paladin, no questions asked.
Though this whole situation is making me miss Shiro. Not because Keith is hot-headed or that I agree that the Paladins aren’t used to their new lions, it’s because there is no calming but stern presence on the team? I though Allura would bring the calm, while Keith would have the stern part, but really, this right now is as far from ideal as possible. Voltron is a very fast-paced show and here, in situations like this it shows that it is somewhat a flaw – not from a narration standpoint, but from ‘how it should have been handled’ viewpoint: remember how long it took them to train and do the mind-meld? And Allura is completely new to this, unlike Lance and Keith, who at least know the ropes. That – I do not like.
And I fucking love Lotor. Shoutout to RvB fandom: he’s like a sophisticated Felix, don’t you think?  A villain you hate to love or love to hate and just. Ugh. Such a good character, seriously – I had no idea I would enjoy him so much. Especially since the way fandom started describing him just after the teasers with him, made me not really hyped about him. But we got something really great.
Well, at least it proves my point about training. We’re back to the point where Voltron sucks. *back to John Oliver’s voice* cool. I knew it would happen and can’t believe nobody thought it would happen in-universe and just… um. I have really mixed feelings about it. Like, we get character-development in this series and we get in-universe examples of learning on their mistakes… So what is exactly this? What is this episode?
But Keith, baby, you fucked up. And I mean it: if this won’t be addressed and you won’t own to this, if this whole thing will be pointless and will just leave us with ‘oh, better not to be so hot-headed next time, hahaha’, it will seriously piss me off. I already had a moment ‘oh, he got it!’ and then it was crushed in disappointment and. I get it, that’s his character, but. Also it’s not? Trauma aside, he should be smarter than this? Again: what the fuck hero? I mean, oh now, we got a teary admission at everything will be okay again? Please tell me, it won’t end like this.
And once again: let’s take a moment to appreciate Lance. Not only he is the voice of reason and the only one who can get to Keith, he is literally like the leader now. I am so happy.
But the visuals, animation and music are so amazing and beautiful. This has to be the prettiest animated show right now. Seriously: wow.
ALSO ALLURA IMITATING LANCE IS THE BEST THING EVER. OF ALL TIME. YES, I LOVE THIS. PLEASE GIVE ME MORE OF THIS. YES.
Also on a meta level. Does this also mean, that the closest one to Shiro is Keith, the closest to Keith is Lance and the closest to Lance is Allura? If yes, then that is a love-square I am not ready to tackle.
YES FOR ALLURA OWNING LOTOR. YES. “HUNK I’M A LEG!” GOD BLESS THIS SWEET GIRL.
4. “Hole in the Sky”
How come we are not addressing the ‘betrayal’ from the second episode? Oh and look at that: we are not addressing Keith’s fuck-up either, apparently his teary ‘it’s my fault’ was enough. That’s… disappointing. Maybe at least when we get Shiro back and he’ll be all “I knew you could lead Voltron”, Keith would be “Nope, no, not me, I fucked-up, I was the worst, never again.”. Still: meh.
MY FIRST THOUGHT: OH LOOK AU SLAV AND SHIRO.
MY SECOND THOUGHT: HOLY SHIT, WHAT THE FUCK. WHAT.
MY THIRD: IS THAT SVEN?? WELL PLAYED CREATORS, WELL PLAYED.
MY FOURTH THOUGHT: OH LOOK, THE ALTEANS AS THE GARLA AU WE ALL WANTED.
This is much more than I could have expected. Bonus points for Pidge’s dubious glances from time to time at the Alteans. Good stuff, yes.
Oh look, this time we’re getting an ‘Allura will fuck it up’ moment instead. Like. HELLO? Character development? Learning from mistakes? Isn’t that a thing in Voltron?
SVEN NOOOOOOO AND SAVING LANCE? DOUBLE NOOOOOOOO.
And of course, Slav didn’t figure out that this reality will be screwed. Of course. I’m starting to silently cheer for Lotor. At least the guy has the brains and a plan.
5. “The Journey”
As the credits roll: At this point I’m acknowledging that this season we won’t get any real resolutions, just a lot of team-building and learning how to fuck up in every possible situation.
As the bubbles come out: Oh, mermaids again?
A second later: LSADHGADFLAHSD AS YES. HELLO, MY DEAR. I MISSED YOU. LET ME LOVE YOU. I was not expecting this.
So turns out Shiro with long hair and a stubble doesn’t look as hot as the fanart made me accustomed to… No, wait, I take that back. It’s just that ‘I hadn’t slept for weeks bags under his eyes, which are actually nice when you’re used to liking RvB Agent Washington. Anyway…He still looks good and almost healthy, however, fucked up that sounds. I always wondered how he maintained the same hair all the time while in prison.
OH LOOK A FLASHBACK. OH FUCK. I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT EITHER.
Okay, serious talk though. Where did he get the bandied? How did he start a fire? And can we stop making him suffer? At last? JFC, he needs a thousand hugs, and a lots of love and just happiness? He doesn’t deserve this, any of this. Again A+ voice acting, this time from Josh. That scream gave me shivers going down my spine and I was breathless and wow. That was powerful.
Give Shiro a Break 2017. And Save Shiro 2017. JFC, I teared up at his pained face.
You do not do this kind of things. I have legit tears in my eyes. No, this is not fair.
YES BLACK, GOOD GIRL. OR BOY. YES.
This is already my favorite episode this season. I’m crying.
THEY GOT SHIRO BACK. THANK HEAVENS. Does this mean we will get ponytail!Shiro now? Y/Y?
6. “Trailing a Comet”
I love Lance, I love Keith, but GDI, Keith let Lance have his fun too.
AND SERIOUSLY??? THIS IS IT???? Where are my hugs? We are tears? And happiness? And… IDK, emotions? Why. WHY???
OH FINALLY. NO WAIT. FUCK. I WAS NOT PREPARED. HOW DID HE GET SO NICE? NEW CLOTHES! AND A HAIRCUT. AND A SMILE AND PEP TALK. BUT EMOTIONS????? WHERE ART THOU???
WHY ARE WE GETTING SO MUCH KLANCE MOMENTS THIS SEASON. I AM NOT COMPLAINING, BUT WHY??? NO WAIT, SCRATCH THAT. THIS IS ANOTHER ‘I AM NOT NEEDED AS A PALADIN’ LANCE THING AND I’M OUT. HOLY FUCK. SOMEONE HUG HIM. PLEASE.
I like this thing where we don’t know who the leader is and what is the status-quo. I like that there isn’t anything smoothing up and getting back into position, with Shiro back. I don’t like the fact they don’t talk things out, that they do not communicate with each other and just… I feel like they’re falling apart, which is ironic because they just got back together. I don’t like the fact Black isn’t responding to Shiro. The last thing we need is him getting into the same mindset as Lance, seriously. I mean, yeah it’s all great that Allura is a Paladin that is great for Blue but… what about all the bonds? Is this going to be addressed or not? I feel like a lot of things are not getting addressed while they should be.
OH LOOK LOTOR’S LOVELY GENERALS <3<br>
OH NO. IS THIS A SHIRO WILL FUCK UP MOMENT? Please no. Look at Keith. No, no, no. Oh, this will end badly.
So, is Acxa Keith’s mom? I bet that’s Keith’s mom. That would be juuuuuust perfect. Also my girl Ezor is perfect, yep, she is <3 And I should really stop cheering for them.<br>
…I am getting confused as of ‘which one fucks up moment’ is it. Keith or Shiro’s. Or both? Or like the whole teams? Seriously: WHY? Well, at least you have to admire Lotor. He is fucking amazing.
NO I TAKE THAT BACK: KEITH IS FUCKING AMAZING. YES BABY! YOU DID IT!!!!
YEP SHIRO, YOU DID GOOD TOO. Just don’t get self-esteem issues, I beg you.
7. “The Legend Begins”
The last episode this season and then the wait till October begins. On the plus side: October! Yaaay!. On the minus side:  October! Two fucking months.
If that cute girl Haggar had seen was for example: Allura’s mother. And for example, the person Zarkon loved, I will flip off. Seriously. I was getting used to the idea of Haggar being Lotor’s mother, but if he and Allura are half-siblings, I will be pissed off. It would make sense though, in a way. I think. Oh God, please let it not be true.
…Okay, Zarkon needs to chill. And is that Allura’s mother? SHE LOOKS LIKE HER. ALSO, DID THEY JUST INTRODUCED THE FIRST GAY PALADIN OF VOLTRON??? DID I INTERPRET THAT RIGHT? IS HIS NAME BLADES? NO FUCK IT’S BLAYATZ. I LOVE HIM. IS HE PILOTING BLUE????
OH LOOK, CUTE ALTEAN GIRL. NOT ALLURA’S MOTHER. IN WHOM ZARKON FALLS IN LOVE WITH. OKAY. Zarkon is cute wtf.
Honevra? OMG, she is changing, please tell me it’s not Haggar n the future.
Goodbye Alfor, the Blue Paladin, hello Alfor, the Red Paladin. I am not complaining. Pretty much since Allura’s speech, I thought he had to be the Red Paladin, instead of Blue.
OH LOOK BLAYATZ  IS THE BLUE PALADIN. YES. NOW GIVE ME BISEXUAL LANCE, I NEED TO CONNECT TO HIM MORE. FUCK I LOVE BLUE PALADINS. I WOULD BE A BLUE PALADIN.
“AM I A LEG?” EGDAUDHAKISDUH THIS IS WONDERFUL.
Okay, this might be my favorite episode this season.
I both understand and already fear Zarkon. Wow. A+ writing on getting me to like him. At least his before!betrayal thing. Blue Paladin is still my fave from this line-up <3<br>
SHE IS HAGGAR, HOLY FUCK. It’s not Zarkon. It was never Zarkon, I did not see this coming. It was her, all along, it was her. Wow. WOW. Also, I really feel sorry for Zarkon now? He… he just fell in love? He wanted his beloved to live and be happy? He got corrupted…? Can we cure him? Like, I did not see that coming. I am actually speechless. And that music in the background was enough to make me tear up. That was… Beautiful.
Also… This brings the ‘power of love’ to a greater, but different meaning.

Happy Mid Season Premiere Week!!
Hello fandom family! Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA. Tried to keep up the posting but it was a bit quiet out there. Hiatus is so looooong.
Tumblr media
NOT TODAY THOUGH!!!!
Tumblr media
Today was an Olicity Marketing Blitz day and boy it was fun. About damn time.
Tumblr media
Stephen and Emily were playing together on Twitter.
Tumblr media
The CW Network was promoting Olicity on TWITTER.
Tumblr media
And Marc did a big interview with EW. There were lots of goodies!
Tumblr media
Today was the marketing equivalent of an ex sending flowers.
Tumblr media
They are sorry fandom. Here comes the woo.
Tumblr media
So, I wanted to talk a bit about the interview with Marc. There so many times I talk about interviews when they seem negative or are negative. I thought it’d be a nice change of pace to focus on a really great interview! As usual I have lots of thoughts...
Tumblr media
I’m going to address the questions/answers I found most interesting.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Now that Oliver knows Prometheus’ vendetta is personal, what’s his next move?
MARC GUGGENHEIM: He learned two critical things in the midseason finale that will help him track down and identify Prometheus: He learned that Prometheus and he share a trainer, and he learned that Prometheus obviously was Justin Claybourne’s illegitimate son. That gives him two good clue trails to be following. He’ll be doing that in fits and starts as the season kicks back up.
Prometheus is OBVIOUSLY Justin Claybourne’s illegitimate son?
Tumblr media
I readily accept this is probably wishful thinking on my part, but isn’t that part of the problem? That it’s so freaking obvious that it’s too obvious? Marc’s use of the word “obvious” feels like a hard sell to me. I don’t buy this Justin Claybourne backstory. No sir. Ashes and a baby picture and TA DA????? No.  I’m calling shenanigans. There’s more to this. I sense a misdirect.
Tumblr media
How does Prometheus force Oliver to reassess his decisions?
This goes to the larger arc of the year, which is Oliver questioning the consequences of his actions in general. What has been the prevailing theme of the season is Oliver is trying to grow and develop as a person, but the actions of his past keep literally haunting him, so it’s going to affect Oliver in a very big way going forward for the rest of the year.
I could meta on this alone, so prep for a long answer. I feel like this is Marc speak for “Oliver is becoming the light.” In reality, what season hasn’t Oliver’s darkness or past haunted him in some way? Pretty much every season right? The point of this season is trying to move him across the finish line of this five year journey. Part of that process is regression. We watch Oliver regress every season. In fact, his development as a hero and as a man has been a painfully slow (and frustrating) process. It’s one of the reasons I’m excited to drop this five year arc because I think it will free Arrow up a bit narratively.
However, this season has seen a lot of emotional progress from Oliver. He’s inherently more hopeful. He’s been more TRUTHFUL. The one area Arrow hit the rewind button on a bit is  the kill/no kill vow because they wanted Oliver’s evolution in that department to be a bit more pronounced. This started in Season 4, with Laurel’s death and killing Damien Darhk. In the season where Oliver was trying to live in the light, he chose to kill. Doesn’t necessarily make his choice wrong. Damien Darhk was seriously evil. Nukes = bad news. But it does provide a layer of “grey” in the development of his moral code.
This season, the Big Bad is literally a creation from Oliver killing. That’s intentional. Arrow has often used the kill/no kill philosophy as a metaphor for Oliver’s evolving morality. They stuck him in a squarely grey zone at the beginning of the season because I think they want him to end this year with a much firmer moral code.
That’s not to say that Oliver will never kill again - because yes there are bad guys who need to be killed. But they specifically echoed the first kill in the pilot. Thea even argued with Oliver over the necessity of killing that man in 5x01. She specifically didn’t join the team because she wasn’t prepared to do “whatever it takes” like Oliver now is (because of Laurel’s death).
Oliver strongly feels that he needs to kill Prometheus - as will Felicity. So, this is going to be a nice push/pull effect on him and part of that process is seeing the effect the “Darkness” is having on his loved ones (Felicity & Diggle). It may ultimately push Oliver to a point where he’s toeing a much brighter line. Different in a way than Season 2, because a moral code is bigger than just killing or not killing. But I think Oliver will reach for the moral high ground in a way he never has before because he HAS to. Those he loves need him to because they are losing their own way.
How different is Talia to Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law)?
She’s definitely her own person; she’s not a Nyssa clone, by any stretch. You can definitely sense a familial resemblance. Having Ra’s al Ghul as your dad, it’s likely to forge a very specific kind of person. They’re close enough and different enough that I would love, at some point, to do a story with Nyssa and Talia. I think that would be a lot of fun.
Just gonna say I am excited about Talia. My Batman adoration demands it.
Tumblr media
Can you talk about how the team will react to Laurel’s return?
I would say they react pretty positively. Obviously, this is wonderful news. We have a very good explanation as to how Laurel returned. The team is, by and large, pretty happy. Bear in mind, there are a few members of the team that didn’t know Laurel, so it’s fun to see their reaction, especially when they learn that time travel played a role in it.
Isn’t it cute when Marc blatantly ignores that the promo department ruined his episode?
Tumblr media
Again, another misdirect. I think in a similar vein to the “obviously.” It’s not Laurel. It’s Black Siren. Sure, time travel had something to do with it, but it’s not bringing Laurel back. To all those worrying that somehow this is a huge redemption storyline for Black Siren and they are bringing Katie back...
Tumblr media
Listen... if they wanted Katie on the show they wouldn’t be hiring a new BC. That’s just the ugly truth. Furthermore, they are trying to launch the new BC which gets tricky if Katie is around every few episodes. My bet? They used this guest contract to bridge the gap between LL and the new BC for the comic purists in hopes they could draw them back in. Anywho, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Arrow side of her contract is closing out and they shift her to Legends for a couple guest spots.
What can you tease for Felicity moving forward? She wants revenge on Prometheus over the death of Malone (Tyler Ritter), so how dark will she go and how far will she go to get it?
This is something we went into the season with. At the beginning of every year, we figure out: What do we want to see our characters go through? What are their emotional journeys for the season? We were intrigued by the idea of Felicity flirting with the dark side. The reason I say flirting is Felicity is very much the light of the show; she provides a lot of lightness in what is otherwise a very dark drama. One thing you don’t want to do is you don’t want to tell a story where she suddenly starts becoming this dark element. You don’t want to tell a story where all the reasons why people love the character are gone. It’s this delicate balancing act.
In the wake of Malone’s death, she’s very influenced by her prior four years of watching Oliver and Diggle — and Laurel, Roy (Colton Haynes), and Thea (Willa Holland) for that matter. She’s been watching Team Arrow respond to darkness with what I would describe as moral compromise. What we’ve done is we’ve found a story where Felicity could be tempted by taking moral shortcuts in the name of the greater good, which is very much in keeping with the central dilemma at the heart of the whole show, which is becoming judge, jury, and executioner is the ultimate moral shortcut. She’s not going to become judge, jury, and executioner, she’s not going to become a killer, but we found the Felicity version, or the Felicity equivalent, of making a moral compromise in order to accomplish good.
Many have heard me complain about Arrow’s “Don’t Mess With The Rainbow” mentality when it comes to Felicity and this entire answer makes me feel a lot better. I think it strikes the perfect balance. First, it seems Arrow is recognizing that Felicity has been through a lot (DUH) and they really haven’t allowed her experience the effects of those events on a big level (also duh). It seems they are going there. FINALLY. It’s time. It needs to happen. I am thrilled.
BUT... we don’t need Felicity to be Oliver’s version of dark. Or Diggle’s. Or Laurel’s. Or Thea’s. We need Felicity’s version of dark to be like everything else with this character: Felicity’s darkness should be uniquely HER.
What struck me, for the first time that I can think of, Marc came out and said “judge, jury and executioner” is wrong. This applies strongly to OTA. Oliver, obviously, has embraced the “judge, jury and executioner” mentality. Diggle, who normally was the moral compass for Oliver, chose to be “judge, jury and executioner” for Andy. Both of these men are morally justified in their actions, but Marc stating flat out that it’s a moral shut cut is extremely telling. They are pushing all the characters, not just Oliver, to be BETTER. To be heroes. Heroes draw the moral line in the sand and they HOLD TO IT. Because at the end of the day, that’s all that separates them from the bad guys and it’s what keeps them from becoming the bad guys. It’s not always easy. In fact, it’s often the much more difficult path, but it’s the right one to take.
It’s why Prometheus is having such a strong impact and why he’s the perfect villain for S5. OLIVER IS THE VILLAIN in his eyes. Oliver needs to come to a place where that perception cannot happen. Where even the bad guys cannot deny he is the light.
So, it’s essential that Felicity be pushed this darker place too. Where she is judge, jury and executioner. Where she takes moral short cuts. She’s on a hero’s journey as much as Oliver and we need to see Felicity’s moral code tested as well. But it doesn’t have to equal killing. It’ll be Felicity’s version of dark and immoral, which should strike a contrast to Oliver’s. Yes, she is so often the light, but the whole point of pushing Felicity to the dark is so that OLIVER is forced to be the light FOR HER. It’s pushing them both to a place where they absolutely need to go.
Having been through situations like this himself, will Oliver be able to help Felicity navigate this? Or is she pushing everyone away?
I don’t think she’s really pushing everyone away, but she’s definitely on her own path. The best answer to the question is it’s neither one or the other fully. Oliver for sure will be trying to — not help her — but give her some guidance. In episode 12, both Diggle and Felicity, for different reasons, are flirting with some darkness in their lives. Oliver basically, in this really great moment, tells both Felicity and Diggle, “Look, I’m basically a dark dude, I do bad things, but the ship has sailed with me. The whole reason I am aligned with you guys is because you guys are fundamentally just better people, you guys are more moral than I am.” Part of the fun of that episode is seeing how that advice to both Diggle and Felicity operates on them. It’s not necessarily going to operate on them the same way.
I’ve been harping on this concept of Oliver and Felicity walking in each other’s shoes this season. Being able to understand your partner’s perspective, in a real way, is a great catalyst for change. Thus, the shift in roles is absolutely necessary. First, this show is about Oliver Queen. He is destined to become The Green Arrow. He’s suppose to be the light for everyone and that INCLUDES FELICITY. In many ways, Felicity is echoing Oliver’s darker path in S3. It was Felicity who wanted to live life to the fullest and held the line even when Oliver lost his way. She harnessed the light within Oliver and he found his way out of the dark... and back home to her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, they are shifting roles in S5. Felicity was always a voice of guidance for Oliver, but Oliver always made his own choices. I believe it will be the same for Felicity. What’s interesting about Marc’s “the ship has sailed” dialogue, is the impact that it will have on Diggle and Felicity. I predict two things: One, Diggle will toe the moral line again more immediately. Felicity will not. Diggle’s darker spiral is ending. Felicity’s is just beginning.
It’s not going to be enough for Oliver to say, “I’m a dark person. You guys are have always been better than me,” this time. That’s the status quo with Oliver and Felicity. Felicity won’t shift her behavior post 5x12, which will probably lead to whatever deception Oliver discovers in 5x15. It could push Oliver to realize that the status quo has to change. He has to set the example this time. He has to provide the guidance through action, just like Felicity has always done for him. The ship can’t sail for Oliver because that means it will have sailed for FELICITY. I don’t think Oliver can abide by that.
In the end, of course, Oliver will harness Felicity’s light just like she’s always done for him. She will find her way out of this darker place. My bet is all of this is the foundation for Smoak Technologies and she’ll find a renewed purpose in what she wants to do outside of Team Arrow, just like Oliver has found in being mayor. Seeing the change in Oliver (in action - his hopefulness, his truthfullness, being the light, etc), understanding his darkness on a deeper level because Felicity will recognize her own darkness in herself, maybe even Oliver’s forgiveness for whatever deception there is... this all leads back to one singular concept: Felicity will find her way back home to Oliver in the end. Only this time... he will be the man she’s always deserved. He’ll be ready for her in every way. It feels like they are on opposite paths, but those paths are actually a ying/yang effect. They aren’t separate. They are connected... and it all leads back to one another.
Diggle seems to be facing the consequences of being set up by his C.O. head-on now. What’s next for him?
Coming into the second half of the season, we felt a very strong impulse to basically bring the whole General Walker storyline from the beginning of the year to a conclusion. There’s a reason why we returned Diggle to prison and it’s all to set up what will be a climactic episode. We’ve dedicated basically a whole episode to resolving the General Walker storyline. What’s nice about that episode, that’s episode 12, is that it ties into Oliver’s Russia storyline, it ties into Felicity’s storyline, and it even echoes back to the Diggle storyline with his brother last season. So a lot of threads get tied together and some threads get tied up in that 12th episode.
I know many are frustrated about the lack of OTA and I understand. I’m ready for them to key up more OTA eps too. However, I look at Oliver, Diggle and Felicity as the three main leads. The fact that Arrow’s primary season arc is connected in an obvious way to all three characters gives me a lot of hope for 5B. 5A is always set up (and to a certain extent 4B). I think 5B will finally be the follow through that connectively binds these characters on completing each of their hero’s journey. Oliver isn’t the only one who is going through a five year arc. I think they are preparing to launch Arrow into a new phase come S6. That said, Diggle needs more attention so I’m glad he’ll be getting some. Sounds like 5x12 will be a HUGE OTA episode which is fantastic because it’s such an wonderful call back to one of our favorite OTA episodes of all time... the trip to Russia in 2x06.
What can you tease for the introduction of Tina Boland and what we’ll be seeing for her?
You’ll get a glimpse of her at the end of the midseason premiere. It’s funny, I don’t want to tease too much about her. There’s a lot of stuff that’s out on the internet in terms of casting breakdowns, which I hate talking about because a lot of the casting breakdowns we release are false because we know they leak. But I think we have a really wonderful character here. Juliana [Harkavy], who plays her, is a terrific actress. We’re going to be doing some new and different kinds of things. Because of the internet, I guess I’m very tempted to — as always — I’d prefer to let the story tell itself and play out, and then people can make up their minds.
It’s really interesting that Marc mentioned the leaked sides for Tina again. When they first came out he tried to pretend it was all fake, but of course, this was the casting side that was sent out to all the actresses who were auditioning for Tina. So, it became pretty obvious they weren’t fake. He also tried to pretend the character’s name wasn’t Tina. So, when the character’s name was revealed to be Tina I think many took that as a sign that these “sides” would be actual scenes in Arrow.
The reason it had so many concerned is because there was a “chemistry” read with, presumably, Oliver. Many concluded Tina will be a love interest. Also, the BC comic history reared its ugly head in combination with a subtle/back burned Olicity and its led to a lot of concern. Here’s why I think it’s interesting that Marc mentioned the sides- if these scenes show up in Arrow it’ll be very easy to point to his interview and say, “Ummm... they aren’t false.” So, I’m feeling pretty confident those exact scenes won’t be in the show. I think his larger point is that some of the assumptions the internet is making about Tina’s character, based on the sides, isn’t necessarily true and we’ll see that when the show plays out.
So, I continue to stand my belief that Tina is not a love interest for Oliver.
We know Oliver is going to end up back on that island. We know Susan Williams (Carly Pope) is investigating Oliver’s ties to Russia. How are those two storylines going to intersect as we head toward the finale this season?
There’s going to be a very cool and awesome payoff to Susan’s investigation of Oliver. That payoff is going to come sooner than you think. In other words, it’s going to come sooner than the season finale.
Susan discussion, yes, but she’s at the end of the article and it’s a blurb at best. Vast improvement promotionally speaking. Marc just flat out told us that Susan’s investigation is going to blow up BEFORE the season finale. IMDB has Carly Pope slated for 5x12, 5x14 and 5x15. Perhaps the investigation blow up is happening around these run of episodes? Especially coinciding with the Bratva focused episode in 5x12? Methinks yes.
I think some are wondering how Oliver and Felicity can “rebuild” if Susan is still around. This isn’t an either or situation in terms of storyline my friends. It can happen simultaneously and it will happen simultaneously. Think back to Ray and Sara. Oliver and Felicity were very much “building” their relationship (and where it was headed) throughout the full season WHILE they were dating other people. As Oliver and Felicity grew closer, Ray and Felicity fell apart. Sara was slightly different timing wise, but she imploded around the mid season as well, with Oliver finding his way to Felicity in the end. It is possible for Arrow to “rebuild” Olicity while Susan Williams is sharing screen time with Oliver. Susan can be playing a role in that rebuild in her, ultimately, failed relationship with Oliver and what it will teach him. Think of it as multiple lanes of traffic eventually converging into a single lane. Multiple storylines eventually push to one singular end. That’s what is happening this year. That is what happens every year.  ALL ROADS LEAD TO OLICITY.
So don’t fret about when Susan is leaving or when she and Oliver will be done. They will be done. She will leave. It will happen. Understandable if you don’t enjoy the storyline and would rather it be sooner than later, but the end result is still the same.
Psst... did you notice? Not a word about the newbies other than Tina. Nice change in pace! All in all... I am very pumped for the rest of the season!!
