In the train stations and the airports, he travels with his ghosts. He can throw away photographs, dispose of things, cast off old clothes – still his former lives are entwined with the present and he can hear his roots shriek, refusing to be sacrificed. They throb, connected, ripped from the fields of consciousness.

The avenue was ancient and was well-established in our city – over time its name had become synonymous with the city itself, and if someone were to say: I live just off the avenue, it would not be quite clear whether they meant that they lived in one of the city's nearby suburbs or in the very centre, just round the corner from the actual avenue, so confused had the terms become. But the avenue, notwithstanding its splendour and just reputation, was still only an avenue, and this meant that if indeed it began by the shoreline – it must also end somewhere, probably beyond the hills.

I just got back on tumblr after YEARS omg. I’m Lia, I’m 21 and an English major ☺️ I’ll probably be posting mostly writing, art, and aesthetic stuff on here! I’m an INFP and I like makeup, coffee, 1800s literature, and anything cute.
I want to find similar ppl to follow so like this post if you blog about the same things!
I may post some of my poetry too, and you can also follow me on insta if you’re interested in my writing.
I was previously known as dis-illusioning and then faire-oublier; my old blog is here!

I  love  anyone—at  least  a  little—who touches me. Anyone who touches me gives me something in that instant: my body.

Snow was falling in earnest now–big silent petals drifting through the springtime woods, white bouquets segueing into snowy dark: a nightmarish topsy-turvy land, something from a story book. My path took me beneath a row of apple trees, full-blown and luminous, shivering in the twilight like an avenue of pale umbrellas. The big white flakes wafted through them, dreamy and soft.

I am glass, clear empty glass... no gesture can touch me. I've been dropped into all this from another world and I can't speak your language any longer.

Loss is a cousin of loneliness. They intersect and overlap, and so it's not surprising that a work of mourning might invoke a feeling of aloneness, of separation. Mortality is lonely. Physical existence is lonely by its nature, stuck in a body that's moving inexorably toward decay, shrinking, wastage and fracture.
Olivia Laing, The Lonely City

New Bookblr
Or is it booklr? I don’t know. I don’t know what any of book tumblr’s tags are.
Hi, I’m Ozzy and I made a sideblog to talk about books. I used to read a lot when I was a kid, but fell out of it a bit in my teen years. Now that I’m getting serious about my writing, it’s lead me to start reading regularly again, and I want a place where I can talk about it without spamming my goodreads updates every five minutes.
A little bit about me: I live in the US, I’m trans and nonbinary (he/him), bi, polyamorous, white, and I’m an adult. I’m autistic, disabled, and mentally disordered. I have an art degree that I do not use. I’m currently writing a novel, and I’m getting into the habit of writing short stories. My main blog ( @rnoonlightink ) is my writing blog.
I’m not entirely sure what my favorite genres are. I’m just getting back into reading and still trying to figure that out. I’ll basically be liveblogging my thoughts and reactions to books I’m reading, but I’m not sure I’ll always write a proper review at the end. Also don’t expect my liveblogging to be lovely and eloquent, I’m not trying to impress anyone I’m just shouting into the void about my feelings.
Also, most of my books are ebooks, (usually borrowed from my library) so I probably won’t be posting many pretty aesthetic photos of like, books and coffee and pristine white bed sheets. I’m sure everyone would quickly get bored of me posting a picture of my kindle and coffee cup on my desk or bed every day. So expect few original Aesthetic posts from me, though I will reblog them from others.
I think that’s it, really! I’m not sure what else to say.

To seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion. To be worthy not respectable, and wealthy not rich. To listen to stars and birds and babes and sages with an open heart. To study hard, think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions. Never hurry. In a word, to let the spiritual, the unbidden and the unconscious rise up through the common. This is my symphony.
William Henry Channing, My Symphony
