Linktober Day 7 - Sky/Sky Islands

His loftwing was always ready to catch him. All he had to do was call for him.

So I FAILED miserably at finishing Linktober but I will probably continue posting every once in a while about it cause I had a lot of things happen this month and I wasnt able to get back in it. But here is the entry for like two weeks ago! (Im going on vacation tomorrow so there wont be more until like friday... maybe)

Breath of the Wild: A shield of any type.

Link can't believe he find himself facing with a Guardian Stalker without a shield in the ruins of a village and he need a clean shot to be able to use his Ancient Arrows to strike at the Guardian's weak point before it turn hi into a crip. Link start thinking, 'What to use? What to use?' as he look around until he see a pot lid and got a idea. Link quickly grab the pot lid and stand his ground before the Guardian. The killer machine fire its laser at Link, whose deflect the laser with the pot lid right at the Guardian itself, causing a massive hit at the Guardian. While the pot lid is disintegrate by the laser, Link pull his bow and use Stasis to halt the Guardian before he fire three Ancient Arrows at the Guardian eye, destroying it. As Link take a breath, the hero start to remember a time similar to what he has been through 100 years ago.

Link, Daruk, and Princess Zelda were visiting the Ancient Research Institute to see if the Sheikah research team there could help Daruk control Vah Rudania better and the team was also working on a Guardian. Suddenly, the Guardian start acting erratically and start firing lasers at random, causing a panic and force everyone to escape. As Daruk see to the scientists out of the building, Link quickly see to Princess Zelda's safety and grab a pot lid as a shield. With the pot lid, Link deflect the Guardian laser right at it, destroying the Guardian. While the Sheikah quickly put out the fires cause by the lasers, Zelda shout at Link, "Link, you just destroyed a machine of ancient technology! You wreck our research into stopping Calamity Ganon, Link!" and Daruk said, "The little guy actually did alright, princess. I never see anyone be crazy enough to use a pot lid to send a attack back." The head Sheikah, a young Robbie, said to Link, "Yes. We going to find a better way of controlling the Guardians in case of something like this. We don't know how many Guardians may be malfunctioning after being buried for hundred of years." as he, Zelda, and Link look at the destroyed Guardian, which its lights were briefly red before it shut down.

Remembering that moment in his past as his mind return to the present, Link start to wonder if the Guardian malfunctioning was actually a early sign that the Guardians were in danger of falling under Calamity Ganon's control.

I know she's been dormant since Skyward Sword, but we have seen her spirit talk to BOTW/TOTK Zelda... so I like to believe that she kept her company at all times.

Day 4 - Ganon

This took some proper brain juice to realise what I wanted to draw. I even read through 200 pagest of Masterworks to get inspiration. All it took to ask K. for her to say “Draw Link and Zelda looking for Ganon in Botw 2″. Boom, here it is.

This was such a blood bath. I started at 6 pm intending to finish at 10 pm. I finished at 2 am, because my too-much-gene is unforgivable.

I think I was not so happy with the colours irl, so I pumped them up in photoshop, but that’s art too.

Studies like this are so important when I need to understand the character design. I also adore the new outfits. Zelda’s short hair and Link’s Hylian armor over his Champion tunic.

When I was reading Masterworks, I was stunned by the amount of detail that went into BotW and how much has been scrapped out. No wonder, there will be a sequel. I am pumped.

Speaking of which. The Mini direct on the 20th? No words.
