Time for some happy/fluffy headcannons since I can :3
Sky sees all the Zeldas as his daughters since he and Sun created the royal lineage. No matter how distant, they are his and Sun's children no matter what. (Some of the Zeldas who didn't have good relationships with their dads *cough* Flora *cough* nearly sob in joy because of this). Also, the Zeldas get their prophetic dreams from him too.
Legend's nose does that cute twitching that rabbits do. It makes him so flustered whenever anybody points it out.
Four, if he were to ever met any of the Gerudo, would be highly respected by them despite his height. He is short, yes, but he is very strong, intelligent and can make his own weapons. He'd probably have to fight off suitors if he ever went to Wild's Gerudo Town, tbh.
Everybody from Ordon is blessed by Ordona, and they have square pupils like goats do because of this. Despite being Hylian, and not being born in Ordon like the others, Twilight was also blessed and later in life developed these same pupils. He loves them despite how creepy everybody else thinks they are.
Time actually gained a little weight after marrying Malon because he felt safe enough to do so. He always made himself stay at top shape in case he had to go on another quest, so when he didn't immediately get thrown into one he got a little meat on his bones. He didnt look like a skeleton anymore. Malon was happy he did, since he was always thin even as a child.
Warriors knits and sews and Proxy has a small hat he made with an itty-bitty pompom on top.
Wind is scared of lighting storms due to a bad sailing trip after his adventure, and Sky tries to comfort him despite also being terrified of lighting himself.
Wild's mother was a piece of Farore's spirit traveling Hyrule as a mortal, and fell deeply in love with his father. Both Wild and his sister are considered forest spirits, and his sister actually became a korok after her mortal body died. The first korok he ever finds is his sister :)
Hyrule really likes the non hostile Zora whenever they visit them, and he learned how to swim from them.
None of the Links can hold their alcohol. One drink and they are all tipsy beyond belief. Except Wind, he can take two drinks before he also is drunk off his rocker.
YAY FLUFFY HEADCANONS (god knows i need more of these after the obnoxiously sad headcanons i have)
- This is so cute actually, I can totally see Sky and Flora becoming close
- Legend 100% does that, I also headcanon he hops when he gets really excited
- OKAY THE ORDONA GOAT EYE THING IS ACTUALLY SO COOL??? THATS AN EPIC HEADCANON
- My favorite thing ever in fiction is when characters start to look physically happy and healthy as they recover from trauma, and I write a lot of this happening to Wars (because I gave him horrible food anxiety and write about how he’s been able to work over that and become a lot healthier and happier) and I can see this happening to Time too
- WARRIORS KNITS IS REAL. REAL AND TRUE. YOURE RIGHT AND YOU SHOULD SAY SO!! I can see him making sweaters for everyone
- Wind and Sky and Legend all being unnerved by storms 🤝
- I think it’d be hilarious if they couldn’t hold their alcohol and Wind could out drink them, but whenever I write these guys I always give them at least a couple instances where Twi gets a good few beers and Wars gets his wine. I don’t think Time would drink, not because he wants to be the responsible adult, but because he just doesn’t drink

SO I was inspired by This Reblog and absolutely adore any and all dragon Aus. And was hit with a rapid bit of inspiration.
Danny sighed through his nose, rolling his shoulders as another blob coiled across his arm like a serpent. It was an interesting thing, how they mimicked other forms, though he didn't understand all of it.
Normally they wouldn't mimic him so much, not so strongly at least. But well, the ghosts here were mere whispers, visible to a few and unable to interact much. Which is what really brought him here in the first place.
Apparently something is blocking the access to the Realms here, enough that someone needs to do something about it. And look, he's not the Ghost King (thank fuck, he'd never be able to have Star-Time if he was) but he does sort of have a job to do. As the child of Time and new Ancient of Space to-be.
Not to mention that as said new Ancient-of-Space-to-be the Observants can't complain that much about him entering a world they didn't like.
And oh boy, this world. Yikes. There's some corrupted stuff freaking everywhere (even if not visibly), and monsters. And he does mean monsters, a lot of these things are corrupted as all heck- though thankfully the skeletal undead ones leave him alone no matter what form he takes.
On the other hand? There's this little gremlin child that reminds him of Ellie that runs into him repeatedly. Danny is starting to think it's on purpose actually. Child? Child where are your caretakers, you can't just charge at the lion-horse people- ... Danny despises prophecies. Alright child, he's going to start following you because you haven't even eaten tonight apparently. And your weapon has broken. Twice. And you're apparently surrounded by ghosts, how has he not noticed- alright. OKAY. This is fine.
-------------------------
Link, would like everyone to know, that he is actually having so much fun right now! There's this sort-of Hylian that he found when looking for Koroks whose sort of like a stal-hylian? Or something? But they're nice!
And they have wings! He thought it was some sort of cloak at first, but no, they're full on wings! And he's going to convince them to take him flying. He will.
After he takes care of this itching on his back, because it's getting really distracting...
Yes I used Flight Rising specifically because @fairy-lights-and-blobs mentioned it specifically for Danny's wings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A Danny & Link <3 But also feel free to imagine them as mixed with any dragon really.

Hello again! I liked your Dark Reader and am back with another request. :3 Since it is October and I'm feeling the autumn associations, I thought it would be neat to read your interpretation of a fox reader (like a kitsune) with the Chain. Of course with the bonus of Dark Link if able, I feel as though not many people write him. ~🎃
I know this is late, the creative brain juice has been stagnant, but WE’RE KIND OF SORT OF BACK! I also got to preface that I am not the most knowledgeable on kitsune history/lore, but I tried my best with what little knowledge I and wikipedia had lmao.
Characters: The Chain (and Fierce Deity and Dink) x GN!Kitsune Reader
A/N+Warnings: N/A, safe for everyone. Written by Mishwanders - pls do not repost. Reblogs, nice comments, and likes are appreciated!
The place where the Chain first meets you would be in Wild’s Hyrule, shifted into a fox, somewhere close to the shrine of resurrection and a few of them have different reactions based off of what they can sense from being near/looking at you.
Wild isn’t deterred, he’s used to seeing foxes. However, the variety of tails is very different from the others. Maybe a mutation? Who knows, but he gets the sense that you won’t harm them.
Time is the first to really pick up that you’re a shapeshifter and that’s only because Fierce Deity allows him to know the truth of it. He’s wary, on his guard, but you haven’t made any move that would suggest you would bring them harm. Maybe this is normal in Wild’s Hyrule, he hasn’t quite decided if it’s best to speak up yet or not. He’ll wait for you to shed your disguise first before acting.
Twilight, Legend, and Four senses there’s magic about you, but it’s not dark magic, so they’re all unsure how to approach you as well. Twilight will however be keeping watch as Wolfie to track your scent and follow you around from afar to figure out what your deal is.
Sky and Hyrule are the first ones to realize that you’re actually trying to guide them all somewhere specific. Helping them avoid certain monsters, leading Wild and Wind to find more Koroks, food, etc. That knowledge helps ease everyone else’s minds a bit.
Warriors would complain as to why they’ve gone off road versus staying on track with the map, but he’s heard enough stories about Wild’s Hyrule to know that weirder things have happened.
Once they’ve all realized you’re no threat, you are free to roam their camp at night.
This will lead to some mischievous acts on your part - i.e. stealing food from Wild’s pack (or food from a bowl if someone isn’t watching), following Wolfie to get him to play with you, pawing/gnawing onto Warriors scarf and getting chewed out over it like a child, etc.
Other times though, you can be found snuggled up with Sky, Time, or Hyrule, fast asleep next to them or in their lap getting some much needed shut eye.
When you finally guide them to your desired destination of Kakariko Village, it’s only in the presence of Impa where you finally reveal your true nature.
The ones who called it are not the least bit surprised at your reveal, but they are surprised at how fox-like you still are in your Hylian form with sharper teeth, ears, and multiple tails.
Your first true introduction to each other goes rather well with the help of Impa and once they all know you’re a Sheikah who works for Impa as her eyes out in the world, their admiration grows for you.
NOW FOR DINK
It's a much different experience. He’s actually the one to get the drop on you first, surprise surprise.
His armor is not nearly as heavy or noisy as his counterpart, giving him an element of surprise in the dark across the land of Hyrule.
At first he takes a shot at you, thinking you’re nothing but a regular fox for him to eat. It’s only when you avoid the shot just by chance and raise your tails to make yourself look bigger does he realize you’re not just some ordinary fox.
Curiosity gets the better of him (as it does any Link) and he tries to make amends for his little accident of almost hitting you by tossing you some meat once he’s gotten his hands on it.
You accept it, but you do recognize something is off with him versus the hero’s you guided to Kakariko. You keep your eye on him in the woods, only growing closer when necessary.
The one time you do grow incredibly close is when a pack of Moblins and Lizalfos chase you. He finds you hiding behind him for protection and he shoos away the creatures with ease, turning around to pick you up. Once you realize he can protect you out there from the other beasts that you find yourself staying close at hand next to him, which he doesn’t mind, so long as you don’t try to steal his next dinner.

I’ve been depressed so I decided to do what normal people do when they’re depressed and make a list of my favorite Legend of Zelda fanfics thus far. I think I’ll make a Linked Universe one next.
Almost all of these fics are finished and most are multi chapter. Some are quite long too. I also tried to include a variety of ships and stuff. I’m a multi-opportunity shipper, what can I say?
I know a few of the authors are here on Tumblr but I can’t for the life of me find them. So if anyone knows the usernames of the authors so I can tag them I’d appreciate it.
Anyway…
*cracks knuckles*
1. Make a Wish, Make it Count by LiliansMalice
Three very different people get forced to work together to find a powerful relic that can grant them wishes and solve their (admittedly pretty bad) problems.
It’s got angst, it’s got humor, it’s got found family vibes. And demons. Lots and lots of demons. Such a good read y’all need to check it out. Also, if anyone knows of any more fics like this let me know!
2. Honor Among Thieves by DawnTheRithmatist
The Master Sword has been stolen and as things start to go missing around the castle Zelda decides to do some digging which ends up with her becoming pen pals with a wanted thief.
Zelink fic which Link goes full rogue and koroks are eager accomplices.
3. Beating Around the Bush by Umbreonix
Revali retires from the air force and becomes a remote bush pilot. His life is all well and good (if boring) until a slightly feral researcher from the University of Central Hyrule derails his entire life.
This fic is genuinely hilarious and also heartwarming. Umbreonix writes Revali so well. Revlink fic with a modern spin. (Side note, the fic “Finding Link” by the same author is also really good)
4. Displaced by Socksock
What do you do once you’ve saved the day? Yeah, Link and Zelda don’t know either. But Link has monsters to kill and cool new outfits to find and Zelda has massive bridges to rebuild and loyal knights to smooch so they’ll be ok.
This was one of the first fics I read after beating BOTW. Novel length Zelink goodness with lots of humor and healing and Link dressing up like Tingle because he’s like that.
5. K.K. Love Song by Socksock
Anything by Socksock is gonna be great but this fic literally kept me sane while I was working on site during the Pandemic. Oklahoma be like that.
Modern Zelink fic where the hot new Shiekah Slate game Animal Crossing brings a Princess and a cook closer together. Link apparently does a good KK impression.
6. Nothing More, Nothing Less by Farbsturz
Ravio, Bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom, must head to Hyrule to help it’s Hero defeat the Calamity. Ravio, Bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom, is not sure about this.
Ravio plays Breath of the Wild. Or- the Ravlink fic you didn’t know you wanted.
7. The Queen’s Tournament by AshleysWrittenWords
In order to become Queen, Princess Zelda must marry. Zelda’s plan? Part 1: Host a tournament were the winner gets her hand in marriage. Part 2: Enter said tournament in disguise so she can, to quote Merida from Brave “shoot for her own hand”. And it all goes according to plan until Link decides to enter the tourney as well.
I THINK I might have read this, or something very similar, once upon a time on Fanfiction.net. Twilight Princess-ish Zelink.
8. Branded by Embyrinitalics
In a land haunted by war, two lonely people find solace within each other.
This one’s got a somber vibe to it, but it’s beautifully written and it hits me in the shipper feels so yeah.
9. The Wolf of Farore by Wayward_Chronicler
The Legend of Zelda meets The Witcher in a fic that is technically not finished but has 71 chapters and more character cameos than you can swing a sword at.
Long fic fam this one’s for you. 😘
10. Interim by Starkraving
Link and Zelda have just defeated the Calamity and are wandering Hyrule when they meet a strangely familiar Gerudo who wants to buy Link’s giant horse and has no idea what he’s about to get roped into.
The Link/Zelda/Gan fic filled with angst, humor and lots of Gerudo grammar lessons.
This was the other fic I read right after beating BOTW. Fair warning- its rated E so it’s got spicy parts to it. But if you don’t mind that it’s a fantastic read.
11. Re-Domestication by AnthemXIX
The description says it best: “A semi-feral amnesiac and his wolf guardian try to get along with the locals.”
A really good BOTW Link and Wolf Link fic that isn’t Linked Universe related (Though the author has written several really good LU fics as well). It’s part of a series and they’re all really good.
12. Secrets of the Shadows by @skyloftian-nutcase
When Link goes missing, Rusl finds a wolf instead of his adopted son and ends up making a terrible mistake. Hopefully he can make it to Kakariko in time to rectify it.
Papa Rusl angst because it’s good for the soul.

totk rant anon once again! a few points of interest this time:
1) not sure which characters you took into the second-to-last main battle, but if you choose any of the champion successors you get the matching champion following you around for the rest of the mission once they enter the battlefield, which i personally think is a lot of fun. and i think the same applies to zelda and king rhoam too if you play as zelda?
2) hunting partners is the best challenge mission honestly. with the premise of the mission + the one vah medoh challenge mission that suggests part of revali's daily routine is to fly over to korok forest and make sure it's safe from monsters, it's not too much of a stretch to conclude he and hestu might have somehow become friends(?) over the course of the game. which is truly hilarious. and then there's the fact that revali is ready to rain hellfire on one (1) tiny bokoblin for stealing "important supplies", along with the fact that you specifically get a part for terrako for completing the mission, which I feel says something about revali's feelings on baby egg guardian too.
3) i love all of revali's sidequests but the final one definitely has some interesting implications about botw, since in botw that particular riddle is for a shrine quest. aoc seems to be suggesting that it's possible for someone other than The Hero to solve a shrine quest riddle; they just get a different reward for it. which makes sense - these things were made 10,000 years ago, so it would be kind of weird if literally no one ever figured them out before. (in contrast we have totk, with a whole bunch of magic stuff that inexplicably appears from nowhere but was totally there the whole time we swear, it's just somehow no rito ever came across or attempted to reach any of the sky islands, not even the flying ships that they have stories about and have occasionally actually seen in the clouds, even though they've supposedly been up there for millenia!)
that aside, this sidequest does make you wonder what alternate rewards might exist for other shrine quests in botw. like, if i recall correctly, one of them is a ritual that mipha would do... either monthly or yearly i think? so the zora might have acquired whatever the alternate reward(s) for that quest would be a long time ago.
4) speaking of revali's sidequests, there are a whole lot of interesting details in them (and in other characters' too, to be fair) but one that i think is particularly neat is that the other champions have quests where you give them stuff for enhancing their abilities (speed, fire resistance, etc.) really early on, but revali's initial quests are all about upgrading the flight range so he can train better himself. it's only later, once you get to each step like thunder, that you can unlock a quest where you give revali stuff to boost his endurance for a flight across hyrule. it's kind of ambiguous whether "you" refers to link specifically or a collective group of all playable characters, but either way, it's the subtlest moment of character development for revali (he's directly accepting help from others at last!) and you'll literally only get that if you're paying super close attention to the sidequests. hence my personal love for them!
omg hiii my favourite anon (genuinely) ^_^
1. i went with link, zelda, impa and rhoam because that felt thematically appropriate but that's so interesting!! obviously couldn't see the rhoam and zelda thing because i was using both but it's actually so heartwarming that he follows her considering his presumed death.
2. WAIT i never realized that omg.... i didn't think much of it but considering how badly korok forest was infested before it makes sense. it really is so funny but also kinda sweet that revali treats it so seriously considering he was condescending to hestu and his maracas earlier on. also wanna interject with my own personal headcanon that the "important supplies" were korok seeds just so i can imagine a scene of revali going "these supplies smell like shit" and hestu going "haha yeah about that..."
ALSO i have seen that scene in the true ending credits (i think? not sure of the full context) of revali petting terrako on the head and letting it fly on his back like GOD he can be so incredibly kind when he wants to be.
3. yeah i noticed that too!! i think the champions ballad further validates your point since the trials were pretty much shrine quests in everything but name. and yeah the ceremonial trident quest is the one you're thinking of! link is the only one capable of accessing the shrines (which is emphasised in the memory where zelda yells at him) but i do like the idea of other rewards being available for other people, as that would explain why this riddle in particular just happened to have the perfect reward for revali.
also we just gotta accept that nintendo had no idea what they were doing with the zonai and their tech and that the sheikah are the ones with better established and just straight up cooler tech LMAO.
4. AUGH GOES INSANE like damn they really hammered down on how revali has to put the extra effort into his craft to keep up with his peers. i like how it sort of mirrors his sos signal in a way, with how it comes in later than the other divine beast themes which implies that he refused help until the bitter end, but in this alternate timeline he can happily progress and accept the help. man revali is a character you cannot take at face value at all lest you miss the small but extremely meaningful things.

The Ballad of Aryll (AU-Verse) Masterpost
I thought it’d be fun to gather up all the scattered asks, art, and writing scraps I’ve done so far for this in-progress fic project, so, a masterpost!
(I’ve also been busy with other hobbies for a bit, so this is honestly just my way of immersing myself back into my story to prime my creative juices for working on it again! :D)
I’ll update this periodically as I share more.
Tumblr media
”Jen? What on earth is this whole story even about?”
WHY, THANK YOU FOR ASKING! :D
At its core, this is a story about siblings struggling to find their way in an unfamiliar world- about two people who have long been separated by circumstance having to learn how to be a family again- about the journey of grief, and the sometimes unexpected routes one is led on while grappling with it.
Fundamentally though, the core premise is that Link has a little sister, and that said little sister was also placed into the Shrine of Resurrection 100 years prior to the start of the fic. The sister, Aryll, remembers nearly everything (except why she’s here). As in canon, however, Link does not.
On a functional scale this fic will serve as a sort of written adaptation of Breath of the Wild, but slid just a little to the left. It will feature a few re-imaginings of small bits of worldbuilding and character dynamics to better suit the specific story I have in mind, and then of course an original character in Aryll. I’ve been writing this as POV alternating, switching between Aryll and Link’s perspective from chapter to chapter.
Over the two years I’ve been dreaming up this little story, I’ve accumulated a bunch of little lore notes, art, and other bits and bobs on this blog- this masterpost aims to collect all of them in one handy spot, so future readers can go back and check out some of the earliest posts about this project!

what would your links/zelda be for halloween :3
i was so excited to answer this until i realized that's 26 characters (12 links, 14 zeldas) so. lets get started omg
halloween in hyrule started as a skyloftian holiday to honor the spirits of the dead, observed by throwing sweets off of skyloft to the spirits below, dancing all night as a sign of celebrating what little life you may have left, and dressing in traditional costumes inspired by one's family tree. at midnight, the holiday goes from a time of celebration to a time of mourning, until the sunrises when there is a huge feast. over time this turned into people dressing in outlandish costumes and giving treats to strangers, especially children, and the few hours of mourning are only celebrated by more traditional circles, and then finally into a more 'halloween'esc holiday.
as the closest in the timeline to what the original holiday looked like, sky and aurora dresses up in traditional skyloftian festival wear, which is all hand sewed and hand embroidered with feathers from sky and aurora's loft wings, and as they are family, their costumes as a matching set.
minish and zellie dressed up as minish every year as little kids until the events of minish cap, when mini began dressing up as ezlo. zellie thinks it is hilarious. her and mini's costumes are hand made by her, and she always looks forward to the free honeycakes that the bakery hands out to children.
quartet goes all out on the scary costumes. he rarely splits during halloween, as he wants to enjoy the holiday all for himself, something that the colors grumble about before and after the holiday. he is a staunch observer of the hours of mourning, and dedicates them to shadow, something that makes quartz deeply uncomfortable. she doesn't like halloween, the focus on darkness making her feel too close to the dark creatures that imprisoned her. she never dresses up, but is forced to go to the celebratory feast, as per her duty as princess.
ocarina and sheik both approach the holiday from a sheikah perspective. the sheikah celebrate halloween more like Día de Muertos than halloween, but significantly more somber than Día de Muertos. Sheik has dedicated the hours of mourning to the entire holiday, and there is often fasting. while it isn't so extreme in ocarina's timeline, it still is a more serious holiday until the dawn feast. neither dress up
mask LOVES halloween, much to other's surprise, as he avoids childish activities like the plague. he goes all out, putting even quartet to shame, and loves to play pranks to get into the holiday spirit. he goes as a skull kid each year, and nearly identical to one and impossible to tell apart.
twilight celebrates halloween with the children of ordon by dressing up (usually in cowboy get up), candy, the whole nine yards, but in his era, the holiday is much more somber amongst grown ups, dedicated to remembering the twilight that once over took them. dawn fasts the whole holiday, and observes it as a day of mourning, though she has been bullied to dress up in twilight's ranch get ups to play with the children of ordon once or twice.
era grew up too poor to celebrate, and in the army it was most simplied to pranks, as the celebration itself was against the rules. he spends most halloweens beside aella at royal functions, bored out of his mind. she orders matching costumes for them based on their connection to the Hero and the Goddess. They both look stunning, and they both hate it.
Wilds and sunny split the holiday in two, with the day being dedicated to partying and the night to honoring the dead of the Calamity and Upheaval. Wilds handmakes his costumes, with his most popular one being a korok, and sunny could care less about the actual costume, as long as she gets a sweet by midnight.
Halloween was forgetten when hyrule was flooded, so Waker, Tetra, Spirit, and Phantom had never celebrated until meeting with the other links and zeldas. they still dont quite 'get it'.
Asteria doesnt make much of a fuss about halloween outside of a party in castle town open to all, and tends to dress in high regalia, something very different from her normal wear. Legend claims she's too old for halloween but comes every year, no costume in sight, to devour all the sweets and scare children with stories of her adventures.
hue goes ALL OUT, inviting friends from hytopia and producing costumes for all his friends, the children of his village, and shoving ravio into something attractive to wear at home for the two of them. iris is rather young but considers herself mature enough for her age to not need halloween. hue is determined to prove her differently, and he and styla have been trying to force her into frilly costumes for years.
halloween is a verrrrry spooky affair in bramble's hyrule, tied more to evil spirits than honoring the dead, and scary costumes are a big part of that, especially masks. bramble hand carves a mask each year of a diffrent monster. this year it was a mask mocking the eyes of ganon. akari might dawn a pretty and delicate lace half face mask, nothing scary or gorey, but brair looooove scary masks, and makes them as strange and repulsive as possible, much to her older-younger family member's disgust.
aaaand i think that's all of them!!!

A more detailed version of The First Hero, and a little bit of lore for my au.
So the idea of this au is that there was a time before Hyrule, long before skyward sword and based on how we have two gods for the Tri-force of power and wisdom held by Demise and Hylia respectively it would make sense that there was a third for Courage.
Primarily this au is focused on Linked Universe and First being rightfully pissed at Hylia and Demise for cursing the links, Zeldas and Gorons into a reincarnated cycle of child heroes. As some really should be.
But I though it would be intresting if First knew Hylia and Demise before so the three of them were in a poly and married before Hylia and Demise got First killed (Unintentional consequence) then it dessovled their relationship as they were separated and feed gossip and speculation from other gods in the realms they were trapped in and then the hyrule lore happened with Demises motivation to take the tri fore being to resurrect First.
The world before hyrule was extremely populated with gods, with several major gods that would have the equivalent power of Hylia and Demise as the major current detitys and several that were just shy of the Power of the golden goddesses.
Tumblr media
Anyway, the ancestors of all “modern” races in hyrule are related to different types of “cursed”, people who defied or irradiated gods. These curses had large ranges from annoying inconvenience to deadly to the cursed and the people around them. Curses can be passed down from child to parent and cursed can change overtime if two people with different curses have children.
The cursed can be put into catagories but idk what they are currently so i’ll make a master post or sm idk.
Most cursed families have either small families of 3 to 5 members at any given time or 24 to 35.
First category (heh) is curse of Fae, the ancestor of what would be known as hylians, fairies and most spirits like the korok, the Deku tree, minish and Wizzrobe.
The fae typically were the average height of “modern” gerudo women (6″6 feet to 8 feet tall), curent korok and fairies (3 feet to 6 inches) or minish (1 inch to 4 cm)  and have higher amounts of muscle and strength. With a higher propensity for magics and senses, they quickly pioneered most areas of magic with the exceptions of elemental magics which the rito, gerudo, goron and Zora excelled at.
Curse of fae typically has three sub categorizes, changeling, fair folk and nymph.
Changeling fae are typically the dominant ancestor of korok, deku trees and minish as they were cursed to change forms with little or some effect on their personalities or mental state with the biggest changes being phyical. Often times these people are cursed due to helpful deeds or by nature and spirit gods. The curses range from growing animal parts to full changes into servants of the god. The physical changes can not be reversed if the curse is broken but the mental changes will be fixed.
Fair folk fae often have mild physical and mental changes, and are the dominant ancestors of fairies and wizzrobe. The curse often gives the barer the ability to wield magic often at the cost of memories or core personality traits as well as physical changes to the body. This often results from people pranking or tricking gods into giving them boons or treasure. Typically wealth or trickster gods cast these curses. Curses ranged from chan9into a physical reflection of the person to personally growth by physical changes .
Nymph fae have little or some physical changes with large mental effects as these cursed can only be made by powerful gods. Typically having elongated ears and heighten hearing, nymphs are made from curses made to isolated the cursed person. Ranging to people falling in love at first sight or gradual out-casting after a period of time, these larger powered curses have few individuals and family lines that bare them as few gods are powerful enough to cast and/or sustain such curses. Most have mental effects due to prolong time being cursed rather than an actual effect of the curse which differentiates them from Fair folk while having little or some physical changes differentiating them from Changelings as well as having higher magic powers and much more difficult cursed braking requirements as they are often tailored to the cursed person. These fae are the dominant ancestor of Hylians and sheika with mixing of Fair Folk and Changeling, as most nymphs are made from people who purposely reject the desitions gods make either because they personally find the decition morally wrong (outcasting curse) or turn down the god romantically/ sexually (loving curse).
The First Hero comes from a large cursed family, the original curse being that the grandfather would be cast out of any community, regardless if made by the grandfather as the curse breaking requirement is to be selfish to the destruction of others as the grandfather saved refuges who refused to worship the dominant god in the country.  The grandfather found the grandmother a changeling who turned into a swallow and had five children. The curse changed from his father where the father could temporarily uses the boons provided by curses such as high levels of magic or curse specific abilities. When his father married his mother who could break curses at the cost of adding years to her curse of exile it created The First Hero's curse of being able to take on other curses temporarily and finish the breaking condition for the cursed person as well as permanently having that person's curse boon if they give permission.
I'm going to do Firsts clothes later but a major characteristic of cursed people is that all curses leave a physical mark on the person with a design the glows white. As a way to mark cursed out from the general population and to condemn them, cursed people have their clothes bleached white over time according to how powerful the curse is and what color they are wearing with lighter colors bleaching fast while darker colors bleach slowly.

THERE'S ZELDA.......damn it all i'm too close to quit even for this..........
LMAOOOOO i found some of those zonai guys training in their underpants. inCREDible. i almost flew right past it but i saw the tent and doubled back

Tumblr media
kakariko, a little quest stuff, a few stray bosses, but overall clear. i'm happy. fuck having to go back to that labyrinth tho.

i was looking forward to seeing how it all changed but there's doom and gloom (not literal) in the air
everyone is staring at the castle and saying zelda is there. yikes. maybe i don't wanna be here after all LMAO

i wish link could just EXPLAIN that he knows zelda is a dragon. everyone all worried about her and looking for her but he and i both know exactly where she is, we should be researching dedraconification!! sigh this game sometimes
i don't get it...she wants me to just go to the castle...what about the fifth sage...
i mean if this is how you do it, fine, but if i need to be heading to kakariko instead...but i cant look it up without spoilers...AUGH

Blaze’s Archaic Zelda Children
I can’t believe I am unearthing my very first OCs with what little shit I ever had on them and absolutely zero visuals cause all my old art of ‘em was gone long ago, BUT to hell with it, worst to come out of this is exposing what a cringe ass nae-nae fool tiny me was. The very first 4 OCs I ever made were made for the Zelda franchise, which was one of my obsessions way back when I was still fresh to the world of video games. ============================================================= The Three Golden Children Descended from the 3 golden goddesses, Din, Farore, and Nayru, these enigmatic figures would be present throughout the ever-changing land of Hyrule, encountering the Hero of Courage in many instances throughout time, and sometimes even providing him special challenges. One born to Din, descended to the mountains, trained by the Goron, and was known to wield a hammer of volcanic rock and the might of his limbs. One born to Farore, descended to live within the forests, a fabled figure talked amongst by the Kokiri (later turned to the Korok), concealing his silent face with a leaf mask, wielding a pair of katanas, and known to be swift as the winds. And born to Nayru, descended to a town by the lakes, ever traveling the land with a guitar in hand to play songs, moving with the grace of the waves and torrents she summons. ... At least, these were the three to be seen often by several folk throughout time. The Arcane Fourth Unbeknownst to all but a select few individuals, popping up to others as an infrequent rumor, there was a 4th divine child born long before the other three. He once served the Hylian Kingdom from the shadows, but one day mysteriously disappeared from the world, rumor speaking that his disappearance was linked with the interlopers that would be banished to the Twilight Realm. In the Era of the Wild, near the quiet Kakariko Village, some have claimed to have seen a phantom bearing resemblance to the lost fourth, carrying an ancient blade and emitting an aura mixed of divinity and a sinister power. ============================================================= I made these four so long ago and had at one point considered reviving them during my time playing BotW, but alas, I had other franchises that had consumed me at the time, and even now, I am uncertain what to even do given my somewhat faded knowledge of Zelda lore. But nevertheless, this is where I began a while after coming out of my gateway that was Super Smash Bros. Melee. And yes, they did have names, but the names didn’t quite fit with the world I wanted to put them in, save for maybe The Arcane Fourth, but maybe at best...

Night Vale Survival 11
Link (Wild)
As an avid fan of Legend of Zelda (and Linked Universe especially) I've decided to dedicate a chapter to my personal favorite of the Links! Wild! AKA: Link from Breath of the Wild. I will be just referring to him as Link and not using anything from Linked Universe. If anyone wants me to do Wild from Linked Universe specifically, or someone else from the Chain, let me know and I might do it.
I will not be using anything from Tears of the Kingdom (for obvious reasons cause it's not out yet), so just stuff from Breath of the Wild.
Link probably tried to teleport to a shrine and oops! Ended up in Night Vale!
Link refuses any offered food, preferring to eat what he already has. (+0?)
After a bush, occupied by a member of the Sheriff's Secret Police, moves a little, Link slashes at it with a sword, thinking it's an octorock. (-2)
Link is generally nice and helpful. (+1)
Link is definitely athletic enough to deal with the street cleaners. (+2)
He probably attacks a hooded figure, they're definitely suspicious enough. (-2)
Link isn't a very active participant of Cecil's intern's interview, but is generally nice enough to not raise any problems. (+1)
Link hears boss music when he gets too close to Station Management. Seriously considers fighting it. Only decides not to due to shortage of arrows. (+1)
Every single suspicious rock in Night Vale gets picked up to see if there's a korok. There are not any koroks. (+0)
Link hears boss music again looking at Hiram McDaniels. Once again, only decides not to due to low arrow supply. But it's close. (+1)
Link offends the Sheriff's Secret Police by referencing an angel, though he probably doesn't call them that. (-1)
Link doesn't back down from the Sheriff's Secret Police and starts a fight. (-2)
Final Score: +6, -7
Ooh so close, but Link dies. Don't worry, Mipha's got him. He's definitely leaving after that though.
Aftermath:
Octoroks are killed with extreme prejudice for a while.
Link stocks up on arrows. This does not last and he's back down to like 10 in a few days.
Link still sticks to his homemade food, not trusting any of the stuff he brought back. He still brought a lot of stuff back though.
He probably worries that his slate is on the fritz and doesn't teleport for a while, but eventually he gets tired of walking across Hyrule just to get where he's going.
(PS: someone please give me more ideas, I’m actually on a writing streak)

first 8 hours of totk review :D
SPOILERS UNDER CUT
that was the coolest intro to any game ive ever seen, loved starting w 30 hearts and full stamina especially bc that wasnt possible without glitches in botw
do not reconize matt mercers voice at ALL
i thought link losing his arm was very cohesive!!! lovelove love that thats how we lose hearts
i love everything about rauru
top portion of the map is absolutely gorgeous. the fall colours are beautiful. the constructs are creative and blend in well artistically and narratively. theres cooking pots everywhere. its still large but a blip on the map comparatively and very mountainy so its very good to explore and find secrets. scratches my brain
it didnt take me 5 weeks to do the tutorial this time around :D
speaking of map, it looks fucking huge. i dont think its bigger then the botw map but the area borders are different and its throwing me way off
how do i fucking drive some of these things
every time i see an item i reconize its like greeting an old friend i havent seen in a while
and every time i see a new thing im both pleasently surprised and at ease, like im meeting someone for the first time but we immediately click
and every time i see something mildly incorrect im either sad or discombobulated. i walk past a place where i know theres a shrine in botw because ive seen it a thousand times, and theres no shrine. i dont know where they went, just sunk into the ground again? they should still be standing just dead and not glowing and inaccessable imo :((
speaking of shrine THERES ZONAI SHRINES!!!!!!! they follow p much the exact pattern as botw shrines. overall so far i prefer the aesthetic of botw shrines more.
at the end instead of spirit orbs you get "light of blessings" and i stumbled over typing it because i 100% think it should be blessings of light. light of blessings sounds incorrect.
why is there a fuckign fairy fountain right outside dueling peaks stable.
WHAT IS THAT GIANT KING BOKO WHAT. WHAT.
blood moons are still a thing unfortunately and its much sharper and scarier looking this time around
its very weird not having my champion abilities. or 3 wheels of stamina. and everything hurts. where is my paraglider. WHY CANT I GLIDE THIS FEELS SO WRONG
take a shot every time i fall off a cliff
theres tunnels to the center of the earth that instakill you
it isnt "malice" anymore its called gloom now. im still calling it malice.
the abilities links prosthetic arm give him are legit so fun. a bit janky and they take some time to get used to but im having a good time. all i can make is a shitty little car i cant steer. im having a great time.
im not playing this as cohesively as i did botw. walking right past quest markers and things. the way i played botw means by the time i would have gotten the master cycle there would be nothing left for me to do to use it with. i doubt it will be the same but i want stuff to do post game
im not fucking finding a thousand korok seeds again. not for a very long time. i laughed maniacally after the first one and then stopped at 7. they have backpacks bigger rhen they are its adorable.
lots of new weapons
fuse is my favorite ability
shiekah slate is now called the "purah pad" which doesnt roll off the tongue as nice. do you think link was pissed when zelds made him give the slate back. do you think he misses cryonis blocks. because i definitely fucking miss my cryonis blocks
theres been fucking crows outside my window being loud as hell this whole post
lurelin village got invaded and swamped by pirates :((((
my least favorite armor set, the luminous gimp suit is being sold for free in kakariko and im kinda mad about it
paya is chief of kakariko now :D
i had a few more but im tired now zzzz

totk replay - part 2! i played a lot today and it really made me dive into the game as a bit of a roleplay experience lol. this is a wordy one with lots of pics, so everything is under the cut ✨
it took 14 in-game days before i was satisfied with my exploration of the great sky islands. i got 10 koroks and only 3 bubbul boyes so i know i’ll have to come back, but i have a plan for that already!
Tumblr media
it’s so hard to take only a few pictures lol. imo link is quite expressive in totk, especially compared to botw! i hope this means he’s had some time to come into himself over the last few years. anyways this moment, where fi chose to speak, really got me in the feelings. it reminds me of botw, of when the blade lit up before meeting ganondorf, of the sacred flames and the journey in skyward sword…….
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i love the moment that we as players get to see, where zelda takes the sword in hand in between these shots, but that’s not what link experiences. he looks very lonely after the master sword disappears.
Tumblr media
took a fun dive on down and ended up in an unintended part of the kingdom!! it’s gonna take a long time to get to lookout landing on foot. after a little exploration (one failed shrine and two deaths via fall damage) i got to thinking that maybe i should speed things up a little!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
here’s the horse i ended up catching after most of another in-game day of terrible chase. he kept rearing on the other two horses in his little herd and pushing them away the moment i got close, and was also the first to come into my space to fuck me up. you’d think he’d be skittish with the rest of them, but he ran towards me multiple times and kicked me twice. it was a bad time. you can really see the spite in him in that first pic. the second shot shows what he does the moment i try to go anywhere with him - that is, one press of a button has him going at a full gallop immediately and i can’t get him to stop. he’s 0-100 ONLY. his name is bastard. i feed him apples and in exchange i keep my fingers. it’s a tenuous relationship (at 100 bonding but that hasn’t stopped him from being SPICY - i’m truly obsessed with the personality and alertness they gave horses in totk bc it’s not this crazy in botw), but mounted archery is very easy on his back.
(tbh i wanted the spicy brown one with the cream mane and socks in his herd but he kept getting in the way. just another opportunity for him to earn his name)
i took bastard to get registered at a stable and did a couple quick quests as the locals needed. by the time i made it to hyrule field, 20 in-game days had passed.
Tumblr media
there were so many resources to gather and monster camps to clear. i also snagged enough shrines for a little spirit orb exchange. first blood moon was absolutely terrifying lol. there was a lovely rainbow the next day though :)
Tumblr media
monsters mean monster parts :) finally i can make elixirs, which means i now have on-the-spot stamina recovery, strength and defense, and haste! need to keep an eye out for hearty ingredients for healing - right now only two of my stamina elixirs give me a small amount of hearts back. some battles have been tricky!!
Tumblr media
made it to lookout landing at last, at 24 in-game days!! i had enough shrines to clear a little more gloom poisoning and restore some vitality (went with stamina). every time you get a light of blessing or speak to the goddess statue, a little more gloom is expelled. not to be a whump writer or anything but like…… 👀 sounds painful.
on to new things!! the added challenge of not having a paraglider is absolutely wild. some things you can’t do though - i was pretty salty about that shrine. gonna go talk to purah again and see what’s up!

As someone who has a switch... there are a handful of games that make ot worth it. Totk, the og BOTW, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak (altho base rise is on console too), and Splatoon 3. Some ppl probly like Smash Bros and Animal Crossing and Mario Kart too but those are the main ones I was interested in. Oh and Pokemon Scarlet/Violet and Legends Arceus
I already have botw on the wiiu (don't judge me), that monster hunter sounds interesting, and i did like the smash game for the wii, mainly the story mode.
I got the first splatoon a few years ago and didn't reay like it at all, mario kart isn't really fun unless you play with friends (which i don't have a lot of irl), I'm really a fan of animal crossing and with the pokemon games in recent years, i feel like they're just getting worse and worse :/
I like the older zelda games, because of the puzzles throughout the worlds and because of the unique items you got in each temple that would unlock new secrets and places, and of course the big temples. Botw had pretty much none of these things, and no, 900 korok seeds don't count, because they don't do anything once you maxed out your bag space.
One of the first zelda games i played was twilight princess, which i loved. That reminds me, one of the things that botw also lacked was a companion character, which for me is a pretty big part of the game actually. And there's usually always some kind of central mechanic that the games are more or less built around. In twilight princess, it was the fact that you could turn into a wolf at will (though admittedly a bit later in the game i think), in skyward sword it was the flying and (admittedly very limited) interaction between the surface and sky.
But the central mechanic in botw was just... climbing. Which gets old really fast. Like, sure, you have an open world game, but getting around isn't really fun since you can only climb, walk/ride and glide. And the gliding is kinda fun, but eventually it just gets old, same with climbing. I would've preferred it if instead of giving us 100 outfits, there were items instead to enhance the basic abilities, because items can be taken on and off at will with a single button press without having to go into the menu for every single thing.
I also wasn't a fan of the shrines tbh. I felt the puzzles were too obvious and short most of the time and the reward was always the same, and trading the orbs in for heart or stamina containers was a bit annoying.
Also, this one's just a personl pet peeve, but i don't really like how links typical/default outfit color was changed from green to blue. Don't get me wrong, he looks good in blue, but like... nothing was wrong with green, you know?
One thing i also REALLY didn't like was the fact that you got all your runes at the start of the game and then that was it, there were no new mechanics throughout the entirety of the game. Which may appeal to some people, but for me that just made the whole game feel really same-y, like there were no new things. And I'm including the weapons, because sure there's tons of different weapons, but only three movesets, and the weapons were way too fragile, though i know I'm not alone in this point.
I could keep talking, but it's 3am, so I'll sum up what i wanted to say, which is that while botw wasn't a bad game, it wasn't really much of a zelda game and i didn't like it all that much, not enough to shell out more than 300€ for the sequel that seems to have all the same problems from what I've seen so far. But maybe I'll change my opinion, idk. If you want more of my ramblings on botw, you'll have to wait until tomorrow.
