honestly the funnest characters to design are the ones where you instantly know what their ***color pallete*** will be cuz it's all fine and dandy knowing the shape and the face until you realise you have no clue what colors you're going to slap on those shapes and face. that being said the funnest funkiest top 5 are as follows -

My goal for this prompt list challenge was to focus on quality over quantity. There’s a few half-assed art pieces that snuck in, but it could have been worse. By quality, I wanted clean line art, backgrounds, and if I have enough time, color!

What drove me to create art: Showing other people that are in this fandom (most notably ⚡@cheriboms). I’d love to interact with other mutuals on here. Shout outs: 💛@bttf-dork 💛@synthsays 💛@alex-a-fans. I feel like I’ve been doing that more towards the end of the challenge, but yall give me motivation! And sometimes, inspiration!

What I learned:

🤔 I can actually draw backgrounds if I actually try [wowowow who'da thunk] It’s much easier to draw a background from a reference rather than coming up with one on your own. So I need to keep that in mind whenever I feel discouraged.

🤔 I feel like my work is very dramatic. Like melodramatic fr. Or at least it can be... I blame watching those tv dramas with my mom when I was a kid. But then again, if you want to incite emotion out of an audience, you gotta know how to frame stuff and do all the fancy cinematography work. So you gotta be dramatic to an extent. I got really really bored with my ideas that weren’t telling a story(or rather a more interesting story…). And that effected my motivation.

🤔 Looking back at the list, I noticed that my top 5s are all either silly or wholesome and I’m glad and relieved about that. I said that I’m really dramatic and there’s quite a bit of angst in there, but ig I’m not THAT edgy (or maybe the prompts didn’t allow me to be🤔👀)

Things that I want to improve on: COLOR THEORY. Brush theory/line weight. I’ve been experimenting a tiny bit with this throughout the month, but I want to delve into it. Since I didn’t work on something for more than a day, I felt like I was throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks.🤪I didn’t get to really study what colors work well and why and experiment with it.

A lot of the ones that I’m not very proud of could be chalked up to not having enough time to work on it/make it better, so that’s an interesting dilemma.

TL,DR; I talk too much. Gotta work faster smh git gud 🙄

267. Carl Smith - AC1: The Shady Dragon Inn (1983)

Looking a lot like an adventure module, with a cover painting by Larry Day and interior art by Jim Holloway, this is actually something completely different and a new kind of product for D&D, a collection of NPCs for DMs to use in their campaigns, ready-made and easy to just transport from the page into your game. 

Interestingly it comes bundled with a little setting, the titular Inn where player characters can find these NPCs, complete with a map and everything. This is designed for the D&D system, but it shouldn't be too hard to adapt to AD&D.

The funnest thing about this, however, is the fact that there are illustrations for each and every character, in little group "photos" with all the fighters, Thieves or Elves put together. Also fun is the way this ties in with the toy line that was on sale at the time, as well as the animated show on TV. You get stats for characters like Strongheart, Warduke or Kelek under the Special Characters section. At the end of the module there's also a section where the characters in the book are sorted into parties that the characters can meet according to their level.

Ranking Precures based off their design and concept Part 2.

9. Heart Catch Precure

This is my favourite Precure season besides the original for the art style alone, despite putting it in the middle. I love the dresses and floral theme! The designs are so eye-catching although it does admittedly feel similar to Ojamajo Doremi.

There is the problem with Cure Sunshine being a trap character but not because she's willingly gender nonconforming. Feminizing GNC characters and framing nonconformity as a restriction when it's normally the other way around epitomizes traditional femininity as "natural" which is a harmful message for GNC girls and trans kids.

8. Star Twinkle Precure

I'm biased for an alien themed Precure because that's right up my alley! All the colours look so nice together and the outfits are playful and fun to look at. They could've done more to really embody their theme though, I wouldn't think of space just by looking. Especially when the alien precures just look like normal people with different ears.

7. Kira Kira Precure A La Mode

I love how much they committed to the idea and they went for two concepts here; pastry and animal! The actual outfits are so cute on their own but the pawed shoes and giant animals ears and tails are next level! It's probably Precure's funnest season in terms of theme. Zero subtlety and I love it.

6. Go! Princess Precure

It's a lot to look at but I just love the extravagance of it all! The hair is extra, the dresses are intricate, and they execute the princess theme so well! All the details just add to the luxury of it all but nothing actually feels out of place for me.

5. Yes! Precure 5 (Go Go)

Their hairstyles have so much personality and the butterfly theme helps make them distinct. Both outfit versions scream classic Precure which I love and the Go Go ones are a simple but noticeable upgrade. It's an understated yet perfect step into group precures without doing too little or too much!

4. Fresh Pretty Cure

I don't even know how to explain why I really love the appearance and style of Fresh Precure as it feels understated. It's just so cohesive to me, there's obviously a stylistic theme but the girls are still strongly distinct and character driven in their design. Their look feels original without relying on an obvious theme. It's hard to put my finger on but I just know that I love it!

3. Hug! Precure

My favourite in terms of design, only knocked back because of its concept. They just look so gorgeous, I especially love the makeup! Their colour pallets are soft and they're just mesmerizing to look at. It kind of throws me off because they end up looking older than their actual age but I think this is the prettiest Precure line up!

2. Witchy Precure

This is the most clever concept in Precure to me! I love the idea of having the same girls getting different magical girl outfits, it keeps it exciting! They also have very strong personalities that makes their individuality shine through their clothes while the witch aspect is never compromised. It just creates a lot of variety and cool ideas! All the outfits are stunning as well.

1. Pretty Cure

Feels like it should be a given the classic would get first place, they were the blueprint after all. Maybe it is nostalgia talking but the outfits are still top notch! It feels knightly with the shoulder and chest pieces reminding me of armour but the frills and bows add that touch of flare and femininity. Cure Black's outfit has an edge to it that I don't see from other precures and her outfit feels practical on top of stylish! Cure White's is more graceful that captures an elegance that hasn't been repeated since. They contrast each other perfectly! Shiny Luminous has a princess look that suits the theme, even though she does stick out to me. Nonetheless, they still slap and can't be any more respected!

Avatar, the Digital Construct Warframe

This should be fun. So the funnest fun fact about Avatar is that her point of inspiration was Deepfake AI generated images of warframes, in particular images like these.

I generally discourage making a warframe aesthetic-first because it tends to make shallower more disconnected kits based on "What abilities should a warframe that looks like this have?" instead of "What's a core playstyle or mechanical concept I want to create?" So I avoid making warframes based on art. But I'm making an exception for Avatar, and I'm going to put extra effort into her playstyle and ability synergy.

Health: 75 (225 at rank 30) Shields: 150 (450 at rank 30) Armor: 75 Energy: 150 (225 at rank 30) Sprint Speed: 1.15

Passive: While Avatar is standing within 3 meters of an enemy that is currently under the effects of an electric status proc her shield recharge delay is decreased and her shield recharge rate is increased by 50%. Additionally, Avatar possesses 200% overshields capacity, granting her a maximum of 2,400 overshields.

Ability 1: Irresistible Image, 25 energy. Avatar creates a digital construct in her own likeness, a holographic double that attracts the attention of enemies and tricks them into provoking its counterattack. Creates a stationary copy of Avatar which cannot be damaged and lasts for 16 seconds, attracting enemies in sight to attack it while absorbing all damage. Damage absorbed is accumulated and stored briefly before diminishing over time. Stored damage is multiplied by 3x, converted into pure electric damage with 15% status chance, and dealt to a the enemy closest to the Irresistible Image every half-second with a maximum range of 35 meters. Every tick of damage dealt by this ability consumes 2.5% of its stored absorbed damage. Up to four instances of Irresistible Image can be active simultaneously. When Irresistible Image expires it produces a flash of light and color that blinds all enemies within a 10 meter radius for 10 seconds, leaving them vulnerable to melee finishers. If Avatar recasts this ability while targeting an existing Irresistible Image within 35 meters with her crosshairs she will instantly swap places with the Irresistible Image

Ability 2: Garden of Light, 50 energy. Avatar projects a field of energy which takes the form of beautiful crystal shards and swirling lights at her current location with a 10 meter radius which lasts for 16 seconds. Enemies within Garden of Light's area will be dealt 150 electric damage with 20% status chance per half-second. Damage from this ability is doubled on enemies currently suffering from an electric status proc. If there is an Irresistible Image within the Garden of Light 30% of damage absorbed by the Irresistible Image will be added to the Garden of Light's tick damage. Up to four instances of Garden of Light can be active simultaneously. When Garden of Light expires it produces a flash of light and color that blinds all enemies within a 20 meter radius for 10 seconds, leaving them vulnerable to melee finishers.

Ability 3: Blink, 75 energy. For a split second, Avatar turns her body into pure energy and moves at the speed of light, instantly traveling up to 50 meters forwards, or in her current direction of movement. This ability cannot pass through terrain. When Avatar uses Blink enemies within a 6 meter radius of both her starting and ending position will be dealt 500 electric damage with 30% status chance and all enemies within 2 meters of her path are dealt 250 electric damage with 20% status chance. If the starting and/or ending position of Blink is within 3 meters of an Irresistible Image or within the area of a Garden of Light it will trigger the blinding flash which would normally be associated with the ability's expiration.

Ability 4: Augmented Reality, 100 energy. Blurring the line between the real and the imagined, Avatar projects a massive display of holographic crystals and flowers over her surroundings, the light and color changing everything it touches into her sacred kaleidoscopic domain lasting for 12 seconds. Within the 45 meter radius zone of Augmented Reality Avatar's ability damage is increased by 100%, Avatar & her allies' weapon damage is increased by 50%, Avatar & her allies' shields gain +20% damage resistance, and Avatar & her allies are healed for 10% of their max health & shields per second. Healing from this ability can grant overshields.

Signature Weapons Ametrine: Although it may not seem like the most exotic of weapons, the Ametrine is Avatar's signature rifle which fires electrified rounds. Flexible, strong, and with a deep well of ammunition the Ametrine is almost too aggressive to be in the hands of a beauty like Avatar. Primary auto-spooling rifle, deals mostly puncture & electric damage with moderate slash & impact. Large magazine & ammo reserves at the cost of a slow reload. High fire rate at the cost of low per-shot damage. High critical chance and very high critical multiplier at the cost of low status chance. While Avatar has Ametrine equipped her Irresistible Image's damage gains critical chance and multiplier equal to Ametrine's. Ammolite: While resting on a warframe's back, the Ammolite seems like nothing; a handle, a surprisingly wide hilt, but no blade. But when drawn the Ammolite ignites its hard light holographic blade, a weightless sheet of energy whose size takes enemies by surprise. Greatsword style heavy blade melee weapon, high attack speed & unusually long reach at the cost of low per-hit damage. Deals mostly electric & slash damage with low impact and very little puncture. High crit at the cost of low status. Slide attacks with this weapon release a ring of energy around the player that deals pure electric damage. While Avatar has Ammolite equipped using Blink triggers this weapon's slide attack proc at her destination point automatically.

Closing Notes: Avatar was pretty fun to design. I wanted to give her abilities a lot of synergy, and while it is a little perplexing that she mostly functions as a point defender who *also* happens to have a long-range teleport, I think I built enough features into the teleport to make it feel like it belongs. Her signature weapons are named after two gemstones and aside from that I didn't really hide any fun easter eggs in her kit.
