just saw that sab/grishaverse netflix has been cancelled … i’m almost relieved? people are complaining not seeing the ice court heist but i just know that netflix wouldn’t be able to handle the heart of the soc duology. i didn’t even see the second season of sab but i know enough

yeah, i don’t really think it’s surprising they cancelled it after the second season was such a mess, but i am honestly a little frustrated that they ruined alina’s arc for no fucking reason and now it will forever be an unfinished thing without a third season to at least rectify basic things. they really messed with the thematical and emotional core of the story for nothing. and as much as i love my crows i think the second season proved they were in the wrong story….. so yeah i think i am also with you on feeling relief in a way because i really don’t think they would’ve handled the ice court heist well enough anyway. it’s just a bummer we’ll never get to see the soc actors truly flourish in their roles but oh well….

ahhh let’s see!!! ok I just recently found atlantis by phoebe bridgers and noah gundersen and something about it makes me a c h e in the best way.. the gentleness of the vocals + the steady rhythm of the instrumentals like waves… it’s an Experience 🥲 I cried on my first listen lol

also I’ve had songs on repeat by trousdale for a while now! they’re kind of folksy/indie pop/almost country-acoustic with these amazing harmonies - “if I’m honest” has been my favorite to jam to lately but they have lots of gems

Not entirely valid but the most valid man in the series also hot so I'll forgive him a lot (because I am fundamentally a hypocrite Lindsay take my comments regarding toxic hot men with a pinch of salt).

Long answer - I like him! I think he's funny, I think he genuinely respects Jina which gives him major points in my book, I think lowkey the way he processes his feelings is fairly childish and he has succumbed to Saying-Things-Then-Just-Walking-Away disease like many characters in romance shows! Sad! Also regarding business etc - I think what he needs to do is grow up, similar to everyone in that love triangle, all of whom are fundamentally stuck in highschool in one way or another. However, he seems to genuinely be making efforts to do so, like when we see him working on pitching his new company, and he's the most likely out of all of them to initiate open communication (even though that's still not very likely), which again I respect. I think he definitely has flaws and he's not particularly self aware, I think he needs to learn that colours other than pastels exist but I really do genuinely like him!

wait what do you think about him what does @thebirdandhersong think about him what's the beef tell me unfortunately by taking a weird middle ground all three of us may now be fighting for our lives against each other XD

my favorites right now Ben Shive's The Cymbal Crashing Clouds (THE PIANO. THE LYRICISM. THE V I B E S. the musician pun at the end of EGBDF makes me absolutely insane honestly.), Paramore's After Laughter (I feel this album in my SOUL. also the lyrics flat-out slap), and, this isn't really an album proper, but MCR's Conventional Weapons (obsessed with the lyrics and emotion in this. Number 4 is an outlier and shoudl not have been counted, I don't like those songs, but the REST??? INSANE PERSON BEATS TO CRY TO).

so, my dad is actually the one who got me listening to Dermot Kennedy, I once was riding shotgun with him with my kid sister (middle schooler) in the backseat and my dad's Spotify was just playing through DK's entire discography, I vaguely recognized the first bit of Shelter, leaned over to my dad and went "I think this one has an unflagged F-bomb" (which tbh i wouldn't bother about if my sister wasn't there. but she's like...... an innocent child??? I'm protective, ok? shfkfbskfns), my dad was like "nah we're good" and. and then. yeah. skfkfnskfnskgns it was certainly A Circumstance.

that said I have never been good at talking to my dad about stuff (we have a good relationship, I'm just terrible at starting conversations, as we've established, and apparently it's genetic bc my dad and I are incapable of carrying a discussion longer than like... 60 seconds. infodumping? Oh Yeah. actual back and forth conversation? ehhhh dubious) and I am a tad self-conscious about my media consumption in general, and I have not managed to ask him yet if he's listened to Sonder.

hehe I really love personal lies by djo. I think it's perfect because I can listen to it during my 2 main moods when I wanna listen to music: I either want to sing & dance or chill out, and this song somehow fits both ~vibes~. it has a fuuunky guitar, bangin' vocals, excellently catchy melodies, and an extended outro (which, imo, if an outro is great it can elevate a song by 100%). also honestly it deserves the title of a Perfect Song because it's been on my on-repeat for like, a year, when I usually go through song obsessions waaay more quickly haha

it comes from a quote from legend of zelda: breath of the wild!! at the end of the game, when you are going into the final fight, zelda says to link, "you may not yet be at a point where you have fully recovered your power or all of your memories... but courage need not be remembered, for it is never forgotten." this bit really impacted me when I was playing for the first time - I thought it was such a lovely full-circle moment for zelda to give link strength, in the encouragement that his strength comes from things fundamental to his Self, regardless of anything he may have gone through or anything lost along the way.

I couldn't believe no one had snatched up the url at the point I chose it (*blows kiss to my zelda: botw obsession of 2020* - that kept me sane I'm telling ya) and it is admittedly a Long Url but I'm so fond of it. :"")
