I read this book today and I have never ever cried this much while reading a book. I'm absolutely exhausted and deeply touched. This is a beautiful book in letter form between two sisters. The older one is in a hospital because of an eating disorder.
I highly recommend this, 5/5 ⭐

Who is your favourite writer?
There are so many different styles in writing a book. I love the easy going basically "plain" ones but I also love the deepness and the poetry some writers bring to it.
So Sarah J Maas is a fantasy godess, I would read every single book of hers (working on it).
I love Lilly Lindner (german author), she writes heartbreakingly beautiful storys as close as it can get to poetry without losing the flow of the story that's told. As I don't read a lot in german, because of writing styles and wording, she, Thomas Glavinic and Benedikt Wells are my favorite german authors.
Emily Henry is one of my favorites because every single book of hers is so relatable, so beautifully written and makes me feel all my feelings all of the time.
Cecilia Ahern is also a master of her trade, telling love stories that capture every possible emotion in great wording.
And the list isn't complete without Diana Gabaldon (author of the outlander series) and Steven King (didn't read much from him but wow). I'm in awe of their creativity, fantasy and commitment to their story. It feels like you're right there with them.

Too late to apologize - part 7
Part 6 hère
Sitting with the group in the waiting room of the police station, she didn't know where to begin.
She simply confirmed that she was a federal agent and that her original mission was to get close to the hacker. She added that she had sincerely wanted to find Hannah, and that she had really done her best to help. Strangely enough, it went better than she thought it would: after the surprise wore off, her friends didn't seem to hold a grudge against her.
In the end, her lie paled in comparison to Hannah's and Richy's...
The subject of Jake did not come up. With Lilly gone, none of them had any particular ties to him. It was better that way.
Their reunion was short-lived, as they were quickly called to testify. She promised to meet them later. She was feeling sad for all of them, even if she was thinking one of them was really responsible for Solis' arrival in the area.
Her goal for the morning was to meet Bob Lindner, the caving enthusiast who had shown Alan the way to the ironsplinter mines.
Jack had told her last night, during their discussion, that he was half lost and wondered which way he should go to get out, she hoped the man could help.
Bob, whom she found in his ground-floor office, was delighted with her interest in his hobby, and passionately told her the story of the mine. The other FBI agents hadn't even bothered to ask his opinion until then, and he was a little offended. He explained to MC that he had explored the entire place, despite the risks, and had mapped everything. He was even more flattered when she asked him to show her the map.
It was in fact a succession of A4 sheets that the old man put one next to the other on the ground. Everything was precisely detailed, including the state of the ladders. Mc was impressed by the huge work of the man, and the amount of details that he had been able to collect.
She took a photo of each of the sheets and a video of the whole. And after thanking the man warmly, she took her leave and connected immediately to the dark forum to inform Jake of the departure of the FBI, and to send him the plan.
He had explained to her yesterday that he had little battery on his phone, and they had cut their conversation short, after he had recommended her about ten times to be careful. This morning, he had nevertheless left her a message to wish her a good morning, he also told her that he was feeling weird to realise they were now so close to each other.
The group was being interviewed individually by police officers, and Alan had planned to go to the hospital in the early afternoon to interview Hannah and Richie. Mc had asked to accompany him, but he had declined, wanting to do this himself.
If he appreciated this young lady with a strong character, he was somehow offended by the turn of the investigation : it was not him who had found Hannah, but her. So now, he intended to close the investigation in his own way.
Nevertheless, when she walked by his office at the end of the morning, two mugs of coffee in her hands, he smiled and pointed to a seat.
If he wasn't going to talk about the Donfort case with her right now, he'd be happy if she told him about the hacker, and he felt there was a lot to talk about!
At first reluctant, she explained to him how she had been propelled in this investigation under cover. Then she talked about her doubts about the culpability of Jake, all the incoherences, sally's and her investigations.
- "Are you protecting him? " he ask her
- "I'll be honest with you : when you said the FBI was there, I knew it was Solis, and that's why I came. So if your question is : do you want to stop Solis from killing him , the answer is yes."
- " You seem to care about him more than you should "
- " That's my problem, Alan, and I'm not going to argue with you about it"
- " Be careful that it doesn't affect your judgment , MC."
She laughed, It was a bit of late advice.
She realized then that she was misunderstanding her own motives:
At first , She justified all her actions in name of an ideal : noone should take another 's life. She had not chosen this profession to play god and decide who deserves to live or die, or let people beeing killed, whether innocent or guilty.
If legally, helping Jake was of course questionable, morally, that could be explained. And for her, it was enough to be at peace with her convictions.
But basically she just had to divert Solis' attention so that Jake wouldn't get killed, that was the plan ! It should have ended there.
But today... it was different :
She would go to the mine to look for him, She would go there because :
She wanted to see him
She had to see him
She would let him go if he didn't want to surrender
And maybe she'd even run away with him.
Her motives were not idealistic at all, but only selfish and personal : she was doing all this because she was in love with him.
That would make her an outlaw and even worse coz she had sworn an oath when she joined the FBI : she would be a traitor.
She sighed, and tried to think of something else.
She was on the terrace of a restaurant, alone, looking at her plate without appetite, lost in her thoughts, when Sally called, Obviously upset.
- "I didn't want to call you from the office, i fear we can't trust anyone anymore " , Started Sally
It all started the previous day, at the end of the afternoon, Sally was wondering about her recent discoveries.
She already understood that 4 years ago, Nymos had hidden something in front of them, encrypting and cutting it into small parts, and hiding it in the archive reports, photos, schedules , and since was taking risks to retrieve those data . Each time, he only had a few minutes before being spotted. He could only download very few files, which explained that he was trying again and again and again.
What was interesting to note is that at each of these connections, Jake knew exactly where to look and what he wanted. He was knowing exactly what he was doing, and this was consistent with what MC was thinking about him : he was organized, meticulous, methodical.
She therefore assumed that he had hidden his datas according to a pattern, so it would have been easy for him to retrieve them, If he had continued to have access to the FBI' s network. She realised then that he probably didn't imagine that he would be on the run and have to hack the FBI to get that data back. (Not consistent for someone who plans to steal hundreds of thousands of euros )
To find and decrypt this data he probably set a code, a key, which Sally did not have. Without believing too much, she tried using the signature of Nymos as a key. Against all odds, a list of results began to appear on her screen.
Hundreds, then thousands of files …
Obviously this data was encrypted, so before going home, so she launched a decryption using the same key.
"When I arrived at the office this morning, I was first disappointed with the result". Sally Saïd. "The signature of Nymos is only small part of the key. He was really careful.
But I was still able to access some documents. It was soooooo difficult to hide my excitement during the meeting this morning, when I had a bomb under my eyes.
MC, i have in front of me the evidence that members of the FBI asked Jake to steal money from the cartel for their own benefit.
I also found a surveillance report from one of the agents assigned to watch Jake :
Jake confided to him that he had been threatened by the psychologist of the service, 'your predecessor' , who would have asked him to dispatch the money of the cartel on 8 different accounts. He then would have organized Jake's escape with the help of other federal agents. But Jake didnt Seem to agree. He would have made copies of those conversations as proof, but then would have noticed that those files on the server had been deleted. He was thinking that several agents were involved and he was worried for his safety. He clearly succeeded in preserving certain evidence, and hiding it cleverly so that they were not destroyed. I have some in front of me, but there are still thousands of documents to decode "
- " Sally … we can't keep this to ourselves anymore! You need to tell your dad, we need help, and you need protection "
MC returned to her hotel quite early that afternoon. After discussing the last details with Jake by messaging, she préparéd her backpack, set her alarm clock for midnight, and went to bed to try to get some sleep.
She had to explore the mines tonight.

„Lilly“, hat Oliver schließlich gesagt: „Lilly, du musst atmen.“
Aber die Stille war wunderschön.
„Lilly“, hat Oliver wiederholt.
Doch ich habe immer noch nichts gehört.
„Lilly“, hat Oliver geflüstert. „Lilly...“
Und ich? Ich war.
Verschwunden.
„Warum?“, habe ich schließlich gefragt. „Warum tut es so weh?“
Es war still. Wie im Meer. Aber dann.
Hat Oliver alles gesagt.
Was zu sagen blieb.
„Weil sie dich alleine gelassen haben.“
Ein Satz.
Der brennt.
