Thing is op
People like to use "coded" as an excuse to harrass others over a fictional character
"this character is minor-coded therefor if you like them or draw them sexy then you are a pedo"
"this character is gay-coded so if you ship them qith the opposite gender your homophobic"
"this character is autism-coded so if you dont see them that way you are ableist."
"this character is poc coded and if you dont portray them that way then you are racist"
And then they go and rip people to shreds over it. And most of the time they are actually "coded" as anything.
Ill give you a good example as to why coding should just fucking die in fandom.
In transformers (all of them afaik) there is a sentient ROBOT named Jazz. He is often voiced by a black voice actor, even in the early days of Generation 1 in 1984. Though it changes a few times Jazz is well known for his accented voice. Jazz (the music) is also known to be pioneered by black people.
In a way jazz is black coded. He is designed with all these elements related to black people.
The thing is. Jazz is a fucking robot. "Jazz" is the name he chose for himself because his cybertronian name does not translate or cannot be spoken by humans. Jazz is also a type of music he only heard when he arrived on earth and is something he loves, hence why he chose the name. He chooses to express himself in such a way because its what he enjoys.
It does not mean he is black. A white person can do all that because they have a love for jazz music. It isnt going to make them "black coded"
He is also again, a robot. Not human. Not even organic.
However of all the problems ive seen in the TF fandom the one about whether you should draw a human version of Jazz as black or white is probably the one thats sets people who give a shit off the most.
It doesn't matter what characteristics a character has. It doesnt matter if Jazz is drawn as black or white. Cuz he isn't human. Its literally up to fan interpretation and none of them are wrong but people want to shit fling, and react hostile over others not drawing him as black anyway.
Same could be said about a certain more popular pink skinned character (who is also human and japanese but when have people ever viewed japanese people as important.)
You can have your queer coded villains. Doesn't actually say they are queer. Hell in the past it would be done as a way to demonize queerness and traits. But queer people still loved those villains because they could relate to their tragedies.
What "coding" actually is, is a part of the design process to add depth and character. It's an inspiration born from reality. But it's not always that the character is meant to be that thing.
Theres a character from genshin impact i could say is "DID-coded" because when she falls alseep or is so stressed she passes out there is another version of her that takes her place that she doesnt know about.
In the same vein theres the game "At Dead of Night" (recommend it, its a horror game) where the main antagonist is possessed and murders people. They even had to put a disclaimer that the character didnt have DID and the game wasnt made to demonize people with DID or portray them as unstable serial killers. However despite the creators saying that, fans still "DID-code" the antagonist, not out of hatred for people with DID but because some people with DID still relate to the character. Not so much the killing people but the struggle the antagonist has with "being possessed". Having DID can be a frustrating and tiring experience and not many cope with it very well even when they do no harm. Feeling of loss of control is very relatable even without DID.
Regardless the rampant "coding everything trend" in fandom has caused a new "ship war" like wave of harrassment. If you dont view a character this was your a horrible person and you deserve *insert graphic content and threats of harm and suibaiting and more*
coding can be a cool thing to discover while analyzing a character or even creating one. But its become hated with good reason because people have no reason left in them. Coding is a cool way of adding depth and nuance to a character and would actually REALLY help beginners with their "bland" characters. Unfortunately even thats discouraged, since it can be seen as "baiting" or "stereotyping" and sometimes appropriating culture. (But a giant sentient robot making his entire personality about jazz music isn't? Lol)
Posting since this is a response to a previous problem.

"Eiden and Quincy were far from the only trans people in the clan, but they were the only ones who had felt the need to get this specific surgery". i think the entire clan can be trans. As a treat. yakumo was a snake, the way he portrays himself can be seen as a choice. edmond's family is extremely wealthy so he got bougie gender affirming care from an early age. olivine's decent with magic which he could use to change his appearance + there's potential for some neat religious imagery of being reborn a new and/or further religious guilt. altho from what we know abt the church of klein tbh i want to believe there's no religiously motivated transphobia in klein
ANYWAY
kuya has canonically been shown to use illusions to portray himself as other people and even as a woman. garu and karu are like yakumo too, they were a wolf but transformed. blade doesnt know what gender is, but he can swap out his dick for a pussy module if he wants to. dante got free top surgery and hrt from the fire spirits. rei makes unethical diy hrt in his meth lab. They can all be transgender.... (smokes a fat blunt)
THEY CAN ALL BE TRANSGENDER... YOU UNDERSTAND ME...
I generally stick to the idea that there's no transphobia in Klein, religiously motivated or otherwise, same way there's no homophobia. I think it's in line with the setting and it's also just plain wish fulfillment tbh. my personal Oli hc is that he's non op and on fantasy testosterone, big naturals and cute little tdick. I also really like him in relation to the following quote
“As my friend Julian puts it, only half winkingly: “God blessed me by making me transsexual for the same reason God made wheat but not bread and fruit but not wine, so that humanity might share in the act of creation.” ― Daniel Mallory Ortberg, Something That May Shock and Discredit You
which I think is less official doctrine and more how he personally approaches gender and faith. if I were angling for angst maybe the church isn't overtly transphobic but there's a little bit of "be grateful for the body god gave you"... but I also like plain uncomplicated trans joy. but headcanon doesn't have to be consistent so I can have both depending on the mood.
I'm a believer of Kuya's ability to have whatever bits he pleases at whatever time. pussy, cock, whatever, magic lets him do anything. "if magic is so good why does surgery exist" you may ask. because gender affirming surgery is cool and sexy. and most people aren't ancient yokai with access to powerful magicks. and Quincy refused to be in Kuya's debt. anyway, Kuya does whatever he wants because gender is meaningless to a magic fox.
Blade hc is that he was born a ken doll, had a dick made for him in Saia because the sexbot investor guy demanded it (see: Rusted Nation), and asked Rei to make him a pussy module because the vagina-havers of the clan looked like they were having so much fun and he got curious. so he swaps them in and out as he pleases, depending on what the mood is that day.
Rei making his own diy hrt is extremely true and real. he also has the most insane homemade straps.

OP is delusional if she thinks chores and house-tending can be split 50-50, it doesn't usually work like that...
true. one person is always gonna be spending more time at work/doing a more taxing job, and expecting everything to be split completely equally is selfish. when gf was studying and i was coming home at 5-6pm from work I didnt do a goddamn thing around the house except for cleaning on the weekends; gf cooked, cleaned during the weekdays, took care of our dog, managed the household spending, grocery shopping etc., and I spent what little free time I had resting. now that the roles are getting reversed and I get back home around 3pm and gf is the one grinding away every other day till 7pm Im the one doing all of the above and she does fuck all except cook on the weekend. a household is a partnership, and a partnership isnt 50-50, its 100-100 and you cover for eachother when that 100 turns to 30, 20, 10 or 0. if one of you is a high earner and you want KIDS then aint no way ur gonna raise normal human beings if u both work full time, someone has to stay home and do the other full time job. if ur that worried over ur financial freedom when pondering over becoming a housewife (or Sexy Human PetTM) then u shouldnt have shackled urself to a cunt in the year of our lord 2024. saying that ppl who want to manage a household are lazy, mindless and useless sounds like bitter, selfish ramblings to me.
its also the same girlies who think theyre capable of managing a fucking homestead when they can barely manage their studio apartment sdjkfbasdjhb

Hi I don't know if you do advice posts but I'm really hitting it off with this guy who has sorta run in adjacent social circles but who i didn't really get to know personally until the past month or so. He recently disclosed to me that he's trans and while it isn't a deal breaker by any means the truth is I've never dated nor slept with a trans guy and I'm not sure whether I should mention that to him if we decide to pursue something so that he knows not to expect too much in terms of skill or not to so that he doesn't get the wrong impression and think I'm using him for an experiment. I'm either a gnc cis woman or some flavor of nonbinary but I'm not sure yet and I'm attracted to men
so imo, the best course of action would be to not disclose. i think you'll both feel more comfortable if you just let the relationship progress organically. if he asks and you're comfortable sharing, i think you can definitely tell him and also include that you don't want him to feel like an experiment. that should open the door for some good conversations about boundaries, likes and dislikes, what terminology he prefers, if he has had a form of bottom surgery, etc. basically, just let him take the lead on that. those conversations can start to feel a little clinical, so feel free to make them spicy. it's more fun that way.
this isn't necessarily what you asked about, but my adhd brain is taking me there, so here's my nsfw advice for folks who want to have sex with a trans person for the first time and are nervous about what to do. ymmv, and of course other trans folks are welcome to contribute. this can also apply to a lot of intersex folks as well, but i'm not gonna speak on that part since i'm not intersex, so intersex folks definitely feel welcome to add to this as well.
he's pre or no op and you're not sure what to call his junk and you don't want to just come out and ask? get a sexy conversation going and ask what he wants you to do to him. he'll describe his body with the terminology he prefers, and you can pick it up from there.
not sure if she's comfortable with you going near her genitals? "tell me where you want me to touch you" "where do you want me to put my mouth?" this is another great way to find out what someone calls parts of their body.
nervous about how to interact with his bottom growth? "i want to watch you touch yourself." "show me how you want me to touch you." watch what he does and copy that when you take over.
not sure if they're a top or a bottom or a side? start with what you prefer (or if you have boundaries about what roles you're not comfortable taking on), and let them respond to that. you don't like bottoming? good, she hates topping! you don't really like penetrative sex on either side? great, they can do oral for hours! haven't topped before but you're willing to try? perfect, he's a power bottom! and if you find your preferences aren't compatible, you can either see if there's other things they're willing to try, or go your separate ways amicably. this sometimes happens with queer sex and it's no one's fault!
he's had phallo and you're not sure how it works? treat it like you would any other dick! if there are things you need to or that he wants you do to differently, he'll tell you. same with meta, it's just a dick that's on the smaller end of average. refer back to "show me how you want me to touch you" if you're still nervous about it.
think they might be getting dysphoric? focus on parts of their body you know they like or that give them good gender feelings. run your hands over his biceps and talk about how sexy his muscles are. run your fingers through her hair and talk about how soft it is. if they seem to be spiraling, turn the attention to you to get them out of their head.
have to stop having sex because the dysphoria got too bad? keep it casual. if they want to talk about it, let them. if they want to let it go, find another activity you can do that feels intimate without the sexual contact. when they seem better, tell them "i'm really glad you were able to tell me earlier that you were feeling uncomfortable. it means a lot that you trust me enough to tell me that." if they seem open to it, have a conversation about what you can do if that happens in the future.
not as sexy, but still very important: if you have a uterus and can get pregnant and your partner has a penis that produces sperm, or vice versa, use a reliable form of birth control! it can suck to talk about that stuff, but it's incredibly important. additionally, use protection against sexually transmitted diseases and infections! get tested regularly, be open and honest with your partner(s), and always pee after sex.
have fun! have weird sex! have vanilla sex! try out some new kinks! celebrate the endless possibilities!

Ohhhh dark princess beanghost deliverer of all that good good Sanuso, deliver upon us your forbidden and darkest knowledge of transfem!Usopp!Sanuso. Is she in lesbians with transfem Sanji? Are they T4T transfemxtransmasc? Did cis, Bi guy Sanji manage to find the only woman in the OP universe who finds him charming (and it just happens to be the first one that he truly and honestly actually falls in love so deeply with in a way none of his crushes ever even compared to because of course Usopp is beautiful and sexy but she’s also silly and KIND and smart and his best friend and he cannot shut up about her? ) Please please tell us what you think I want some more transfem Usopp in my life
You ask, I deliver and share my knowledge. Don't use this fantastic and dark, magical information for the evil.
Okay, so I absolutely love all of these ideas for Transfem!Usopp and Sanuso. My favorite probably is them being lesbians and dating because if you can make a ship sapphic, do it. Always. It's the best thing you can do to a ship. Turn them into women. Makes it 100% better. Probably saying this because I am a lesbian myself and I love sapphic couples. But yes.
So, I actually love the whole Cis guy Sanji falling for Transfem!Usopp, but I'm gonna mix both ideas because I am a genius and I just had a revelation.
Usopp comes out as a trans girl to the crew when they find each other at Sabaody after two years. Everyone accepts her, of course, and Nami couldn't be happier to have her in the girls' room now (they're so best friends I love them). Sanji, after his time at Momoiro Island, takes it well. As well as he can take it, of course, having in mind that he still doesn't understand the whole concept of being trans yet (he feels such fury and hatred towards it... Why would that be, I wonder). He still feels weird around it, but when it's Usopp the one to say she's a girl... It's different, now. Sanji starts to understand everything better.
It's not like Usopp changes that much, after that. Her hair is longer and she still keeps it messy or in a low ponytail. Her clothes are basically the same, but now with a bit more of femininity to them. Sanji doesn't know how to put it, but the way she moves and speaks and dresses now is a bit different, yet completely the same. Perhaps it's just him. Perhaps seeing her as a woman has changed him, even if Usopp hasn't changed much. Whatever- Sanji has everything under control (or so he says) because, even if Usopp is a girl, she's still his best friend. They're best friends. They established that two years ago and it still remains a true fact.
Usopp does get the gentleman treatment from Sanji, of course. She might be his best friend but she's still a girl (a very, very beautiful girl with a wonderful brain and looks and voice and-) and the cook can't hold back from literally throwing up hearts and bleeding everywhere whenever he sees her. The sniper (who may or may not have the hugest crush on Sanji) appreciates this gesture, thinking at first that it's just Sanji's way of telling her that she accepts her. She thinks that he's faking all of this. At first, of course. Because then it becomes genuine and constant and she kind of understands how Nami feels, because damn the guy is annoying most of the time. But also, well- Usopp loves being loved by him, even if it's in the same way for every other girl he meets.
The things is... Sanji doesn't feel like he's the same with other girls. He acts like that with them because that's how a man should treat a woman (worshipping her completely), but he does all of this for Usopp because, well, that's his best friend. His sniper. And the way she makes him feel is something he has never actually experienced before. Sanji realizes, then, while their relationship keeps growing (holding hands, stargazing together, hidden smiles, obvious blushes, nervous laughter, all their moments alone...) that it's not only the fact that he's probably in love with Usopp (wow, surprising, right?) but... He kind of wants to be like her?
Sanji puts the thought aside, though. Love is more important. Love. Whatever he feels for Usopp. He has never, ever experienced this before, unlike what most people might think. And it's driving him crazy. Because what is he supposed to do when the love he feels is too much to not show it and too scary to make Usopp know? So burying his feelings deep down with the hope they'll disappear soon is the answer to everything! (Don't do this, Sanji is just stupid).
But of course, the feelings don't go away. He just falls even more and more and more for her. From the way she laughs to the way she talks excitedly about her new creations. And she's the same Usopp he used to know, just a bit different and, well, happier. More confident. Way sexier now that she acts more freely. Sanji can't handle this. Especially when it comes hand in hand with the poisonous sensation that he tries hard to keep at bay. The envy. The longing. The wanting to be free, like that. Sanji dreams a lot about the dress he used to wear back at Momoiro. It felt good on his skin. Something felt good on his skin for once.
Whatever. It doesn't have to mean antyhing. He's just in love with Usopp, that can accept it. And wanting to be like the girls he constantly cherishes isn't that weird. He had his moment in Punk Hazard with Nami's body, right? It isn't- It isn't weird.
Then Whole Cake Island happens, and everything starts crumbling down around him. First of all because he's gonna end up getting married to a girl he doesn't even know, leaving the real love of his life behind. And second, because he's starting to realize some stuff he didn't want to admit before- But being so close to men. To the men who hurt him. Thinking so much about the way he loved his mom... How much Reiju says he looks like her and how little bothered he is by that, in fact wanting to look more and more like her. Long hair. Long eyelashes. Beautiful, beautiful woman.
He thinks about Usopp a lot, there, when he feels trapped. About her smile and her eyes and her voice and her outfits that are not feminine at all and yet still feel meant to be worn by a woman. He thinks about the way he loves her, so deeply and unconditionally and both physically and emotionally. He thinks about wanting to share that experience of freedom with her, and thinks that- Well. Sometimes- Sometimes he thinks about dresses. And make up. And how being called a princess would still hurt but would hurt only because of the meaning behind of the word and not because of the word itself. And Reiju tells him about it. About their mom and that the way he acts isn't because of being weak, but human. And then she mentions that well, of course she has empathy, she's a girl. And Sanji wonders if it's, maybe and just maybe, the same for him.
Her.
Yeah. That feels good enough.
She realizes suddenly, everything she had been bottling up, making her heart explode into a million pieces. Then the pieces are all put together by Luffy, who's the first to know. Sanji tells him about wanting- About maybe being a woman. Luffy only smiles and says that he likes the way Sanji smiles when she pronounces the word. That those are great news, even, because Sanji would never hurt a woman, and all of this (running away and forcing Luffy to leave her alone) is hurting her. So she has to come back to the crew for a woman to be happy. It doesn't make any sense, but Sanji cries anyway.
So, stuff happens. Sanji has a lot of time to think. And then they get to Wano. It's not the best time to come out, honestly, but she has to do it or else they will probably end up burnt to death by a big ass dragon before she can actually be herself fully. She doesn't have the guts to tell Usopp privately, even if she wants her to be at least the second one to know, so she tells the whole crew (and Torao, for some reason, because he's always there). She doesn't stop looking at Usopp's eyes, though. For something like... Acceptance? Support? Understanding? Love? Sanji isn't sure, but it makes talking about this easier.
Once again, everyone accepts it, of course. Zoro makes a joke about her just wanting to be in the girls room, and she doesn't even have to kick her because Robin is the one to smack him in the head without her extra arm being noticed right away. It's not a huge change because they can't do much now, but Kinemon gives her a proper kimono for her. She feels... So pretty.
Usopp tells her she looks pretty, so happy and joyful and proud of Sanji it makes the cook melt under her gaze. She notices a bit of blush, too, on her best friend's face, so she takes her to a private place to talk things out. To actually talk things out.
Sanji confesses that her new self is basically thanks to Usopp, and so she thanks her with a shy smile and a laugh. And Usopp hugs her. Tight. It almost makes them both cry. And Sanji doesn't really know why it happens or how it happens or- Or even when, but Usopp kisses her. And she moves away as quickly as she leaned in, starting to mutter anxious words under her breath and apologizing for using this moment to confess, but she just couldn't go into such dangerous adventure without making Sanji know first.
The weight on Sanji's shoulders disappears, and the urge to kiss Usopp back becomes stronger than anything else.
Long story short, because it's nighttime and I work tomorrow morning: Sanji and Usopp move to the girls' room, which means work for Franky to make it wider. Sanji is more femme fatale while Usopp goes more for a nerdy, messy vibe. And they start dating, of course, and become the most annoying sapphic couple in this ship. Also, Sanji grows her hair long for her mom and Usopp loves to help her taking care of it. If they call Ivankov or not for a lil bit of help with her bodies, that's up to you, but I like the thought of Sanji wanting to change her whole body (except her killer thighs grrr) and Usopp like, wanting boobs but not too big and also still keeping the lower parts bc, and I quote: "Why would you want something that's harder to pee with?" and even Nami would agree.
They're the cheesiest and clingiest most beautiful couple ever. Live laugh love transfem Sanuso.

JK has showed NO interested in woman at all EVER.....so I would like to ask anon when has JK ever shown interest in a woman????
OP barking in the replies. Can I ask when is the ONE time he showed interest in men ? Don't mention Jikook moments but where tf he has shown he's queer and into men ??? He said he had a crush on Joon. But the same guy also said his crush was IU, so that doesn't count too.
See JK got ZERO, ABSOLUTELY ZERO moments where he shows interest/ attraction to male gender. And to you, you all will defend his any behavior till it will come back to bite your ass, WAIT TILL A PAP VIDEO OF HIM WITH A WOMAN OR GRINDING ON A WOMAN IN A CLUB IN US HIT THE TL. Or will you say "oh jimin might be ok about JK doing this, he's gay anyway" ???? You all pushed his tattoo girl scandal under rug but now it won't work anymore. It's not me being homophobic ffs. Just using my brain.
IDK WHY YOU GOT TRIGGERED WHEN I SAID A FACT. HE ONLY FOLLOWS FEMALE DANCERS WHO POSTS SEXY CHOREOS. NOT A SINGLE MALE DANCER, WHEN THERE ARE 100S OF EXTREMELY GOOD MALE DANCERS ALSO. EXCUSING IT WONT CHANGE THE FACT. MORE THAN BEING CONCERED WHETHER IM GETTING TRIGGERED WHEN HE MENTIONS JIMIN, CHECK YOUR FAVS REAL CHARACTER, it's only time being since he starts follows those only fans model girls who posts half naked videos saying he's an adult who have sex and can do whatever he wants.
Anon,
Ok, go read the replies to the other post and check where you are incorrect. And recheck Jk's tiktok and reevaluate how you see him.
Jk shows interest in someone... Jimin.
You all want to set that aside like it's nothing when it is EVERYTHING! That should tell you everything.
So I will show you jikook moments because that's what exists:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Jk ever came out in videos of him with a woman, I'll accept it.
But then you have to accept what we have now. And that's Jk with Jimin.
Tumblr media
But you won't do that now, will you?

Which historical romance books would you recommend to someone who would like to get into the genre but doesn't know where to start? So far my preferred genre was fantasy romance but I think I exhausted it completely at this point so I'm looking for something new. I tried Bridgerton but I didn't like, so I would appreciate any other recommendation. Thank you in advance.
Hey! I am happy to offer some recs. Imo, the Bridgerton books are kinda dated and work for a very *specific* reader, so it's not surprising to me that it wouldn't work. We can find something!
Sarah MacLean is a great gateway--I read every single adult historical she had out when I was first getting back into them in the early pandemic days. She typically writes very strong heroines (not always in a "we do battle" way, but always in mind and heart) and heroes who are just.... like, honestly, MESSES. Guys who can kick ass and fuck hard but are actually, deep within their souls, simps. From her backlist, I'd recommend as entry points:
Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake. Her debut, and I recommend it because it's super compulsively readable and very beloved, with good reason. It's the story of a wallflower type who's like, "Jesus Christ, I am so tired of being this person" and sets out to break these nine "rules" and have adventures. She ends up enlisting this known Slut Man to help her (in exchange for helping introduce his long lost sister to society) and naturally, he is soon after her. I will say, MacLean's first series is the most ballroom that she gets? Her tastes are definitely a bit wilder, and they get so from this book. It's funny, it's sexy, it's a romp. My favorite series of hers is the Rules of Scoundrels series, which is about a group of friends who own a gambling club and like getting emotionally destroyed by their lovers. But since you read fantasy romance, I will also suggest...
Wicked and the Wallflower. This is the first in her Bareknuckle Bastards series, which has a very fantastical, fairy tale-like premise. Basically, this guy's wife gave birth to an illegitimate daughter. At the same time, he had three illegitimate sons born together. So--girl not his, sons his. But he claimed the girl was a son upon baptizing her, and decided he'd pick which son was worthy of being his heir in what was essentially an extended CHILD BATTLE ROYALE. Anyway, the books focus on the grown children years later--two of the sons have become rulers of the London Underworld, taking the girl with them. It's wild, it's fun, the stakes are high.
Lisa Kleypas is a classic writer of the genre. She tends to write very emotional books, often focusing on very competent heroes (except that time she didn't and everyone clapped). For her, I always recommend her most famous series--it's a great crowd pleaser.
The Wallflowers. Four friends who are striking out on the marriage mart agree that at all costs, they will help each other find husbands this season. I recommend reading these in order, but the two strongest entries are It Happened One Autumn (book 2, an enemies to lovers situation, he's uptight and she's wild) and Devil in Winter (villainous hero enters into a marriage of convenience with the shy girl, gets absolutely emotionally compromised because she's actually everything), which MUST be read in order for max enjoyment. All the books are good, though, and book 1 is a great start with this kind of indecent proposal angle.
Monica McCarty's Highland Guard series could work for ya! It's a medieval series that centers on this group of knights who do these kind of black ops missions for Robert the Bruce as he's trying to take the Scottish throne. There's a lot of history, battling, Secret Love Shit. The first book is The Chief, which centers on the leader, this cool and stern guy who ends up in an arranged marriage situation with this woman who wants to Know Him Emotionally. These books have tons of adventure.
The Uptown Girls by Joanna Shupe. This series focuses on three sisters of a prominent man in Gilded Age New York, all of whom get into various types of trouble, some of which does involve organized crime. Fun and scandalous~ with a bit of danger. Also, super sexy.
Elizabeth Hoyt's Maiden Lane series is a great one that takes place in Georgian England. Lots of working class characters, walking on the wild side, danger. I'd recommend starting with book 3 (Scandalous Desires) as a starter, as it centers on a river pirate who basically takes this widow woman into his lair~ (he's actually trying to keep her and his daughter, who she's been caring for, safe--but he has ulterior motives, obvi). These books are super hot and often quite daring. Some of my personal favorites.
I think these are some options you can sample and maybe find a match or several with--imo, finding your niche is important. Like, I know Julia Quinn often doesn't work for me because I prefer books that are a bit ... heavier? And definitely with more sex and passion, often with less focus on the marriage mart. With exceptions, clearly!

I had the final stage of my phallo on September 19 and have been healing pretty well and loving the new equipment, but suddenly this past three weeks I’ve had horrible regret every day. Literally every day, and it doesn’t go away. It’s getting to the point I’m almost having dysphoria over having a dick. I miss how it used to be and I can’t even figure out why, this is all I wanted for years and years. I admire you and your journey so much, please do you have any tips to help me get to where you’re at? I wanna feel like myself again 😣
can you pinpoint where the regret is coming from? bcz i think that's a good place to start. and if you can't, maybe therapy with someone who is educated or of trans experience could help you get there.
at least for me, all the waiting and wishing (not only for phallo, also my life goals i put on hold to achieve it) can make you pretty obsessive about how good it will be in the after. how it will look this specific way, how that will make you feel, how it will solve your issues w your body or self confidence. and so if that doesn't align with your reality of recovery, then i feel that can lead to depression for a lot of ppl.
i was really scared preop of my body not looking 'cis enough' to heal my dysphoria, or feeling 'unfinished' between stages. i felt a lot of relief when i woke up and i didn't feel that way at all. it's my body and i feel incredibly grateful and peaceful to be inside it. and that is all that matters. fear of my dick not passing as cis was something i was hung up on for a long time early in my transition. because we are told that passing is synonymous with being sexy or worthy or lovable or "being our gender". re:disclosure, passing is safety. being able to let go of "looking cis" or "Real" as my desire for my surgical outcome was the best thing that ever happened to me.
immediately post op the physical relief was there too, like the weight of it is Correct and attached to me and the same temperature as my body and Alive. and i can feel it and the sensations that brought me dysphoria from my natal genitals are gone. maybe you can try reconnecting to the things abt ur body that brought you relief in earlier stages? try to remember the discomfort you had pre op and why you needed surgery to feel ok.
there's also other factors to address: surgery did not fix my eating disorder. it did not fix my obsessive relationship with my body , but it did help. my mental health is better now, but there's still other things i need to work on and change in my life. these things all need to be addressed to truly feel at peace with urself. i think you have to pinpoint where those feelings are coming from and unpack that to really get to the bottom of it

So I'm trying to write out some ideas for Dominion au scenes and I guess I'm questioning what kind of humor fits Dominator? She's definitely comically evil + mean spirited so there is dark humor galore (Plus with kid cosmic using death as a punchline, lmafo it makes for some dark opportunity),
but if.... sighes, If the writers really were trying to go for the "she doesn't belong in the show" anime-op-badass "sexy bully"(<<<gags I hate this approach i hate sexy bully) archetype, I have to wonder if she's conscious of herself in situations or not. In Q&A they say she loves riot grrl but she's also fine with using a guy persona to "mess with people"?? Mess with them how? Make them double take and awkwardly scramble to treat her differently? Or make them not judge her as a (gender) but as a badass foe first and foremost regardless, and being a woman is just the cherry on top? I have to wonder if her love for the riot grrl genre includes the fundamental girl empowerment (proud to be a girl), or the "don't judge me just because I am a girl! I belong here too!" aspect. Is her perspective that she is proud to be a badass woman, or does she feel she's a badass who happens to be woman therefore women must be great? She seems to use whatever tools she has at her disposal, but also has a comedic self care routine of fluffy towels and pink guest bathrooms. So she's all out evil villain, but also has sensitivities and seemingly personal boundaries with "me-time" which doesn't read entirely as the all out off the wall destroyer, but a quirky lethal evil conqueror. It matters because like, would she be a "sexy" bully that has personal boundaries over her body, or is it all in, make the others squirm and yelp? Is she vulgar and unhinged? or does she have some kind of pride that would prevent her from "degrading" her self in her view by flirting with people she sees as losers? We have characters that have a sense of pride or a sense of boundary, which can make for good kind spirited humor too, but if Dominator really doesn't belong, it's hard to discern just how far her actions would go. basically it's one of the two: A) she embodies the "intensely evil little girl" all grown up into a fearsome villainess, playing godzilla with living toys. This is within the same vein to Hater's "spoiled brat emo prince" all grown up into a manchild rockstar tyrant personality. This means she would have some personal boundaries and sense of pride, meaning she would toy with others (flirting, teasing) but not be intensely vulgar. Fits the setting of WoY pretty well, though? Is... being pretty and mean enough to be a sexy bully archetype? Ugh Man, I hate this trope lmao. It feels gross. B) She embodies the "evil no matter what" and just happens to be a woman. she relishes in bullying others and making them squirm, wanting to destroy everything in her path. She's super unhinged and even self-destructive if not careful. No sense of sympathy for others, she just. wants. to. destroy. those puny little faces. (Cute aggression over 9,000!) And it's bleak! Yeah! ...and, lonely. Woops. This means she would be very vulgar, and not care what people think about her or her body because of course she's already perfect, she's HER. This to me reads as more so the sexy bully archetype, but ignores some semblance of her softer sides like her "...friend?" moments with Sylvia or her funny reactions to things like "what? Ew--no." which imply personal boundaries. I'm writing a whole damn essay about this because I don't want to make her too vulgar if it's ooc. But... it's seriously hard to understand what the hell the writers even meant by "sexy bully" because is that just a hot mean girl? Or a get under your skin and twist the knife just "to break your heart and watch you cry" kinda thing??? HOW FAR DOES IT GO, idk idk. Frankly I wish canon Dominator was not fanservice sultry and only sporadically "maniac pixie nightmare girl" like the VA's videos implied, because that stuff was hysterically fitting for WoY. Unhinged and unfitting of the WoY universe, but in a light goofy turning instantly heavy and dark humored way.

Thoughts about ROTB
I expected an action blockbuster and I got an action blockbuster. I am neither dissapointed nor pleasantly surprised. It's not something I would have bothered to watch much less drag my friends if it weren't Transformers, but under those expectations, it's a perfectly enjoyable movie.
Well, let's talk about what I care about most: Optimus. I was expecting him to be angry and jaded from the trailers and he was. I do kinda like that since he was given a reason to and he became his more gentle self by the end. I mean people looked at the camera to explain his deal which is eeeh, but I don't expect subtle characterization from these thigns, so it's fine. At least he was given something compared to mostly everyone else who didn't get much in terms of character so I can't complain. I do like that he blames himself for everything and externalizes that, reminds me of IDW1. What was a bit jarring for me is his disregard for humans, I don't mind an OP that's violent or angry, but an OP that doesn't care for all life is eeeeh? Well, I guess they needed to give him an arc and he gets over it, he was having a rough time. I liked him pleading to Noah instead of blasting him. Also him being like "I'm going to do extreme acts on violence on Scourge" due to him killing Bee. When he rips off Scourge's head spine included that was sexy. His seriousness was effectively used for comedy so that was nice. I feel I still would have liked something different but eh, what did I expect, really. It's fine.
Noah was good too, again no subtle characterization here, but he wasn't an annoying protagonist or anything. He was fun to follow and I like how he inmediately volunteers to go look for the transwarp key.
Mirage really was the highlight of the movie, he was so fun. Oh I love him. His interactions with Nova were great. My friends were shipping them.
Primal was nice. So was Elena.
Wish Arcee had gotten more, and I wish Rhinox had gotten actual lines, but ah, the movie barely had time to do all it wanted to do. Sucks because I feel like if we had gotten more of Bee and Optimus, his death and Optimus reaction to it would have been more effective, there really weren't particulary interesting dynamics. But I mean, at least they cared to try to endear you to the characters. I'm told by my friends that this was was better tahn Bayverse and Sam Witwicky. But I feel Bumblebee with its more contained story did better in this regard.
Ironically, even tho I was the one who cares about Transformers and asked my friends to comes, they are the ones who watched the Bay movies while I haven't.
Bee should have stayed dead. I mean, I knew he was coming back because trailer, but he should have stayed dead. It did make me sad that he died and reviving characters feels so cheap to me. Also, it would have confirmed that this isn't the same universe as Bayverse.
Like seriously, what's the status on that, this is very important, how do I tag this movie in my continuity tags???
Nice that they bothered to say the aliens aren't the cause of all the things pre-colonial did. I mean, the bar is on the fucking floor for this sort of thing, but yeah
Friends asked if the Inti Raymi was legit or if this was a James Bond Día de Muertos sort of deal. It seems part of the Inti Raymi celebration takes places in the Sacsayhuamán ruins were the Autobots arrive and were completely empty.
Anyway, I likes the action!! I loved the transformations so much, they were extremely sexy. Friends say that they likes these designs better, but the action wasn't as bombastic as the Bay movies and the CG wasn't as well integrated at times. But honestly it was all good enough for me. I have no complaints. That time Mirage transformerd to turn around while on the car chase, ah, so good. I really would watch this again just to see the robots move.
I.... was not expecting G. I. Joe

Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay, I didn't see this until now (& op turned reblogs off apparently) but I'll address some stuff under a readmore just to clear stuff up.
"one piece has multiple queer characters" One Piece literally has a gay club that hands out free transitions to transgender people. I am not making this shit up. Also, Luffy is asexual & aromantic. "multiple" doesn't really do it justice
"the whole "tumblr crossing the picket line" thing in promoting it (i think? i've heard people talking about it at least)" tumblr didn't cross a picket line. tumblr is allowed to advertise, as they (as in the website & the people who run it) are not planning to be part of the writer or actor unions. this is just regular advertising that other movies & shows have done & are doing.
"the strangeness of what things tumblr decides to promote and in what intensities they do for which things" again, tumblr was paid to promote One Piece. yes, there are problems with what tumblr pushes & what it hides, but it was paid to do this. it isn't favouring One Piece for no reason. it is favouring One Piece because it was paid to. if Our Flag Means Death wanted to advertise on tumblr, they could.
"the fact that what little i know about the original one piece is sexism" the series started in the 90's in Japan, so yes, there is a lot that isn't great, but for a lot of us it was our first experience of seeing openly queer characters & women who can beat the shit out of you. for the bad stuff (basically just out of date shit) the live action series does fix this, but I think it would be good to consider that it was 90's Japan when Oda wrote it with queer & strong (as in, power level type shit) women in mind. this isn't fucking Harry Potter we're talking about, where all the bad shit is a fundamental part of the creator's worldview & personality. this is like, some old shit that didn't age good like everything else that exists ever. his art style is kinda fucky & I won't defend it but like. we're talking about the live action which negates all that. also, as someone else pointed out, the women are drawn sexy, but so are the men. have you seen Zoro's massive tits?
"and the fact that netflix remakes in the past usually aren't well received." the One Piece Live Action series not only has fans involved, but the creator of the original series working on it. they also made the physical sets (most of which are ships on the water) & only used CGI when they literally couldn't use practical FX (Luffy stretching, for instance). if you looked into it at all, you would've seen that this is not the same as, say, The Lion King. people tend to forget that it isn't the "live action" itself that is bad, but the execution. One Piece Live Action was executed very, very well with what it had to work with, & we could see this ahead of time, not just when the show came out. I literally teared up at parts because I felt like I was watching One Piece again for the first time. All the important scenes were 1:1 with the original, & they even played the original theme song We Are (instrumental version). That is how good it is. It was made with love & you can clearly see it.
I appreciate the apology, but the fact that you didn't know anything about it (you're allowed to look stuff up) before putting this post in the main tags is like. why. people (not just the op in the screenshots, as I've seen this multiple times in different fandoms) need to learn that if you hate something, block the tag, don't go into tag complaining about what you think the series is. this is how you ruin the experience for fans--& yourself. you are doing the exact thing you are complaining about tumblr doing, except worse, because you're just ignorantly shitting on it, & not even in a funny way.
anyway, go experience some childlike wonder & watch OPLA, or don't. I literally don't care.

ship meme w mclynch 👉👈
THANK U im worried some of these might be ooc bc i'm high and i haven't watched the show in a bit
Who asks the other on dates: mcguirk deffo. lynch is a Dropping Hints kind of guy but he rarely outright asks. imo he'll say "wow this new exhibit at the museum looks cool" but what he means is "please take me on a date to the museum"
Who is the bigger cuddler: they both love cuddling but i think mcguirk is just a liiittle more into it, he's very physically clingy
Who initiates holding hands more often: mcguirk
Who remembers anniversaries: LYNCH. mcguirk remembers lynch's birthday but never their anniversary and every year he spends the following week apologizing, it's kind of its own ritual after a few years
Who is more possessive: honestly i can't decide
Who gets more jealous: LYNCH. i wanna see him have a cunty jealous girlfriend moment
Who is more protective: mcguirk! he's like "lynch. lynch i could snap you in half. you're like a twig"
Who is more likely to cheat: neither!! i hate that op included this as a question you might as well ask which ones hates the other more!
Who initiates sexy times the most: OBVS mcguirk but lynch does his fair share of initiation too
Who dislikes PDA the most: mcguirk is CONSTANTLY initiating pda and lynch gets all flustered and embarrassed and goes "nooo omggg stop itttt" mode but he really does love it
Who kills the spider: they both kill their own spiders but mcguirk will do it if they're in the same room bc it makes him feel Manly
Who asks the the other to marry them: mcguirk drunkenly proposes all the time and lynch brushes it off as a joke until one day mcguirk is like "wait wait no really i bought a ring"
Who buys the other flowers or gifts: lynch buys little things for mcguirk alllllll the time. occasionally mcguirk will pick some wildflowers for lynch
Who would bring up possibly having kids: they end up not having kids but i like seeing it as they both have their moments of wanting kids but neither ever want kids at the same time
Who is more nervous to meet the parents: mcguirk says he doesn't care if lynch's parents like him or not because their love is more important than any approval but he secretly does very much want them to like him
Who sleeps on the couch when the other is angry: mcguirk would sleep on the couch even if neither of them were angry he just loves the couch. he'll sleep on the couch often and wonder why his back always hurts
Who tries to make up first after arguments: they can both hold a grudge for a While but lynch is always the first to bend
Who tells the other they love them more often: i think mcguirk
thanks again i love doing these
also. realizing mclynch is a bizarro world buzzdriessen

hi hi would love to see 💥🏥🎭 for the jasco espionage au!!
Babes I am just in such an espionage type of mood right now so it's time for espionage au!
💥 First Fight/Making Up HC
Their first series of fights is probably the two of them still getting acclimated to working together rather than against each other. Like Bosco and Jasmine are still thinking in ultra-competitive mode, thinking that if the other is doing well, they're losing, even though that's no longer the case. So it takes a while to get them both on the same team. Part of the difficulty there is that it means admitting that they're fully isolated from their old lives now, that no one besides each other has an idea of who they were before they were *dead to the world* and assumed these fake identities (procured by Daya, who decided that these two were going to be married on their fake ID cards, for funsies and because she doesn't really want to work on Bosco's big revenge plot either, but if she's going to, she's gonna stage her own revenge plot within a revenge plot). Eventually they realize that they're all they have left and give into working with each other, but it takes a lot of practice to withhold their sabotages.
🏥 Taking Care of Injuries HC
During a later mission, Jasmine ends up tied up, bound to a chair, unable to fight for herself, all while the man who's supposed to be their target is holding a knife to her neck. And while Bosco, who when working for their old agency, was know for covering their own ass at any cost, literally leaving other agents behind to die, they just can't do the same to Jasmine. They end up rushing in, getting stabbed in the arm themself, and just barely undoing the zip ties holding Jasmine to the chair in time for the two of them to be able to fight off the remaining guards and get out of there before anyone else knows that they've killed the target. And when they're flooring it on the way back to their home base—a crappy little co-oped apartment in a boarded up building—Jasmine's freaking out and trying to stop up all the blood that Bosco's losing and Bosco, laying in Jasmine's lap in the backseat of the car, is trying to reassure Jasmine that they're going to be totally okay.
🎭 Jealous HC
When Jasmine's seducing their targets, doing her whole "sexy lady" bit, perching herself in their laps, feeding them expensive (and laced champagne), laughing and throwing her head back at everything they say, Bosco can hear what Jasmine's doing through their earpiece and can barely focus on cracking into this safe to grab the dossier they need for the next part of the mission. Bosco's mumbling to themself about Jasmine being a little too close to this creepy old dude and how bullshit it is that *that* is considered spying. They're working with so much speed and agility to get the dossier so that Jasmine can stop acting like the sexy little distraction she is. After the mission, Daya comments that that was the fastest Bosco had ever cracked a safe and Bosco shrugs, looking at Jasmine as she fixes her dress and is like "yeah...I'm just really good at my job." (Daya doesn't believe that for an instant and uses Bosco's jealousy to shave down their time and get through tight time crunches during missions by narrating all the things Daya sees Jasmine doing with these people she's seducing, goading Bosco on).

hey dude. that post you rbed saying 90% of people who post abt sexually attracted to trans bodies are chasers? bad fucking take, my guy. even the OP of that post was kind of not great abt that. ace≠sex-averse in the same way not every sex-averse person is ace. plenty of ace people have and enjoy sex. we are allowed to want to be found sexy. telling people that finding us sexually attractive makes them chasers is like. highkey fetishizing. (source: I'm an ace trans person.) I hope this ask doesn't come across as aggressive because I'm not trying to attack you, but I think you're hurting people with your mentality.
I wasn't saying that people that find all trans people hot makes them chasers. Nor were they. What the problem is, primarily, that TME people only refer to transgender women in sexual or otherwise demeaning terms and those posts get hundreds of thousands of likes but when a transgender woman herself is sexual, she's demonized. Asexuality within trans communities is seen as nonexistent to cis people because we're seen as inherently sexual and OP was upset about that.
The concept of people finding trans people hot is not the problem, but if you physically cannot look at a trans woman and see her as a person instead of cute little anime girl v-tuber sex toy then yeah, that's gross. But I do acknowledge that my tag was too broad and could be seen as shaming people that are attracted to trans women so I removed it. Not the time, bad phrasing.

User @apfelhalm posted lamenting how people have mostly turned to posting fanworks only on semi-private discord servers and it blew up, so this slight resentment seems common. I have been on Many social media platforms over the years and have some Opinions, but didn't want to hijack their post since this turned long.
tl;dr discord definitely kinda sucks but it's not like there are a bunch of better options for semi-public fandom discussions :/
Discord is basically IRC with a flashier interface and voice chat. I have never been good at instant messaging or group chats, so my dislike of Discord extends from that. As soon as there are more than 3-4 people in a real-time conversation I need to focus on that convo and can do anything else at the same time. And in really busy servers/chats by the time I decide what I want to say and type it out the convo has moved on.
It's true that they're also not easily discovered and unless someone intentionally invites you, even if it's an open channel it's hard to feel welcome just walking into a room of strangers. If you already have a group of friends and just casually transition to discord so you can talk in real time more easily, it's fine. That's what it was built to do. It is more irritating when, as OP says, everybody just stops posting publicly anywhere else and just shares stuff to their one group discord. It is a really clumsy platform for finding or saving things and if it's even slightly active it's not possible to just check once or twice a day, you have to be on it all the time or you don't know what's going on. It's even worse if you aren't in the same time zone as everyone else. Like I said, it was the same 15 years ago in AIM chats or IRC channels, this isn't a unique or new problem. It's just that back then everyone who wanted to post any images or longer writing had to use other blogging sites as well due to character limits & the need for image hosting.
Despite disliking a lot of things about it, I have used discord regularly in the past when I've been part of gaming groups. There are competitors starting up, but it is still the first place to go for free gaming voice chat.
There are obvious reasons why people get tired of public fandom... I intentionally only use tumblr and not twitter for fandom stuff for the same reasons. So I can't really fault anyone for retreating behind closed doors.
It used to be that it was difficult to find and "join" fandom for technological/financial reasons and that friction meant the community was smaller and therefore there was a greater sense of safety through obscurity. There was also more consistency in social norms online and people who were bad actors would be shape up or be excluded simply because after a while they would be blocked from every available forum. This might seem overly harsh, but it's the way all small communities naturally police themselves. The unfortunate side effect is that charismatic bad actors in small communities can take over and ruin things for everyone who doesn't agree with them, especially if they can financially afford to run their own forums and suck all users out of other ones... but that still happens. And those fandom social norms could be inherently discriminatory towards marginalized groups, forcing people to put up with shit to participate at all... but that also still happens.
Fandom is now much more public. You don't "join" fandom in the same sense now, it's everywhere in popular media. Talk show hosts showing actors sexy fanart of themselves isn't even shocking any more, it's old hat. Some actors and creators knowing about fandom isn't new, but there was a certain understanding that you weren't supposed to shove it in their faces. Now it's unavoidable and corporations and savvy self-promoters capitalize on it (like that weird Interview With A Vampire fanfic app).
If all communities have 1% of users being intentional bad actors, with a group of 100 people that's only 1 person. You might be able to convince someone to not be an asshole at that ratio, and if they don't cut it out you can kick them out. With 1000 people that's 10 people, which is also somewhat manageable with an active moderation team. With 100,000 people that's 1000 people. That's a lot of harassment to deal with. With the number of users in the millions, it almost feels like there are more bad actors, trollers, grifters, and spam than there are genuine people. Not to mention you've now got a very non-homogenous group who are going to differ in opinions on things like NSFW content. And there's no way to kick or ban people from the community or provide meaningful moderation because there is no one community, there are several interlocking ones. I am sure that many people who joined fandom in the past 5-10 years simply do not know what an online community moderated space looks like outside of Discord.
All my opinions on internet communities is based on personal observation and some old internet truisms. There is a lot of nuance I am excluding for brevity's sake. I just think it's important for understanding why, when a community becomes super big and public, a lot of people flee for the hills to make new smaller groups. And right now that small and medium-sized semi-public community space is usually Discord.
Even if it's understandably the place people are congregating right now, I don't think anybody should get too comfortable on discord. They have made moves indicating they want to cash out. They have become harsher and harsher about NSFW content in the past couple years (due to the same reasons why tumblr has). Not to mention most people don't realize that discord as a company can view anything posted on any server, even private ones, so you need to assume nothing you post there is truly secure (especially if a corp you don't trust might buy it). Even if someone were to invent a new social media platform friendly to fandom (yet again. see also: dreamwidth, pillowfort, mastodon) they will run into a lot of the same problems w/r/t collecting funding that tumblr and discord have. So I don't see any other better options on the horizon and it's impossible to try to herd fandom in any particular direction, so who knows what the future will bring us.
