Saw your Mishanks bodyswap art! Very cute and fun! (Mihawk with a genuine smile on his face so so fun)
I imagine Shanks whould have trouble fighting in Mihawk's body at first since it's been years since he's had two arms
yes absolutely, i imagine that too! conversely, i think mihawk would have a little bit of trouble adjusting his balance and reach with a body missing one arm, as well. it's interesting to think about how they both would be forced to change their fighting style, and whether or not they would exchange swords.
mihawk's been seen using yoru with just one hand so he could probably pull it off with shanks's body. also interesting to think about shanks tripping up on having two arms until he naturally slips into his old fighting style again--or would he? because there's also the question of muscle memory, right? would mihawk's body automatically do things that shanks isn't predisposed to doing, and vice versa?
the other thing i find intriguing about body swapping in one piece is the question of whether or not your haki powers would switch as well. they say haki is spiritual presence, so presumably your haki switches if your spirits switch, but if it's the kind of spirit that's tethered to the presence of the body? then consider mihawk having the strongest conqueror's haki out on the blues, or shanks being able to use observation haki at mihawk's level, practically being able to predict the future--or mihawk, able to counter with shanks's haki-kill technique. food for thought!

Why did they create such a useless character to show Cinder's backstory when Salem is literally right there AND the real question the audience wants answered???
Imagine if it had been Salem who stayed at the hotel and saw something of herself in the scrappy servant girl. She saw how the Madame treated little Cinder and offered a way out only if Cinder has the power to be useful to her. Maybe she put Cinder to a test of how far she was willing to go for freedom, or maybe Salem wanted something from the Madame that she wouldn't give so it was up to Cinder to provide
Either way, Salem gets a young disciple that's ruthlessly ambitious and easy to manipulate and Cinder gains the illusion of freedom under a new master

there's a very specific kind of vibe that comes with living with your friends in final year that it just does not have in first year or even second year. like as a fresher it's usually the first time any of you have lived away from home let alone with SO MANY people your age and it's terrifying and exciting and randomised to boot so it's generally carnage for a whole year in the best and worst ways, and then second year you pick who you're living with and it feels like for the first time you're doing this adult thing PROPERLY. you have a place of your own now. these are the people you've chosen to live with. studying gets serious etc. but it's still fresh. it's still new. you still don't know how to navigate it. but final year? final year is when you actually get it right. you know how to manage your time better. you know what works for you and what doesn't. studying is the main focus and you've been out in the world for three years now and it's not loud and boisterous like it was in first year and you're not exciteable and awkward like you were in second year. you're comfortable. every single one of my flatmates has their own friend group and we mainly keep to our own social circles, but we'll still meet each other back at the house after a night out and sit in the kitchen or my room to do the debrief. sometimes i'll go days not seeing either of them despite sharing a house but every now and then someone will softly call up the stairs that 'the heating's on!' or one of us will sneeze and the other two will yell 'bless you!' through the walls. the lack of interaction isn't interpreted as dislike in ways it would have been even last year, because we're all just old enough to be past that now and settled enough in our friendship not to worry about it. idk. uni is very loud and unsettling a lot of the time so it's been really sweet to see how almost boringly comfortable final year is.

hey, i'm not sure if you're comfortable with people complaining about something to you so if you don't like it, just let me know!
it's just that a tweet about how hamilton is "unfortunately good" blew up and the quote tweets were pissing me off. people saying that they sincerely wish lin manuel miranda was less talented so they could "hate him for being insufferable more efficiently"? so many people saying it's unfortunate that he's talented because he's so annoying. it's exactly the point that anon made about people just looking for a reason to bash on him, and i couldn't deal with it.
i would honestly prefer it if the hate was coming from people who hated his music style and sincerely thought he wasn't talented, at least it makes sense. people saying "oh no i listen to the soundtrack a lot" but then proceeding to make fun of its creator is so much worse to me.
it's totally fine anon, i am always up for discussion, whether you want to complain about something or just simply share a fun fact from your life.
i agree with you, it literally doesn't make any sense & it's one of the reasons i'm trying to stay away from twitter, i also saw a lot of haters there. it's so funny to me that they can actually admit he's talented, but at the same time they hate his personality, because... exactly, because what? i don't understand why they find him annoying, can somebody explain, please? also, hear me out... it's actually possible to listen to someone's music & avoid watching/reading interviews if you don't like them. I KNOW, SHOCKING. but not as shocking as wasting your time talking about someone you hate so much. go touch some grass you loser.
also how pathetic it actually is that people are ashamed of listening to hamilton... like, why would i be ashamed of listening to something that makes me happy? something that i genuinely think is good? maybe we should just, idk, start enjoying things? hamilton literally occupied my entire spotify wrapped last year & i was still happy to share it with my friends, because it brought me joy, so what is the problem?
anon, i genuinely think people are just being racists. there are a lot of very problematic people out there but somehow they always get away with it because they're white. i hate the world we're living in.

2. "this was a mistake"
[ send me a number and I’ll write a micro story using the word or phrase ] @fuzzydreamin
This was a mistake.
The ancient terminal had taken its sweet time copying everything over to the holotape and Reed knew he was out of time. Fuck, this was a huge mistake. He’d barely gotten the holotape out of the terminal and into a pocket before he heard footsteps approach outside the quarters, followed by the door’s hinges creaking and a heavy metallic click as the door was shut. He quickly composed himself for what he knew was going to be a tense situation.
“You’d better have a good reason to be here without permission, Paladin.”
“I need to discuss a confidential matter with you, sir. Off the record.” Reed replied promptly.
Maxson shot an odd look at him before shrugging his coat off and setting it down on the table in front of the door. “Go on.”
Reed quickly covered the few steps between them. His impassive green eyes met the Elder’s and held contact for a few seconds, until the younger man cocked an eyebrow; a silent challenge that he’d been looking for. Reed smirked and dropped to his knees.
He was so, so incredibly grateful that someone had made the brilliant decision to put a tightly wound 20 year old in charge of an army.
