Ron Stoppable Lipsky concept - A Sitch in Time AU
Tumblr media
Ok hear me out:
This is my take on a slightly darker themed story. All of this would play out during the 'a sitch in time' special. The villains go to Middleton in the past to disarm their teenage foe by preventing her from ever becoming friends with Ron and in turn training him to become an agent of chaos with only one mission: eliminate Kim Possible.
The team would kidnap Ron, erase all of his memories and start training almost immediately.
Duff Killigan is the first one to drop out upon hearing this plan. He thinks this goes a bit too far: sure getting rid of Kim is nice and all, but kidnapping a wee lad from his parents and brainwashing him? That doesn't sit right with Killigan. Yes, he's world's deadliest golfer, but this has NOTHING to do with golfing.
Monkey Fist is on the other side of the coin: he wants to ensure that Ron will never get his hands on ancient monkey power. He wants to kill the child. That way he'll never become friends with Kim nor obtain monkey powers. Drakken, Shego and Duff object heavily to it and battle ensues. Monkey Fist is outnumbered, Drakken opens a portal to a remote past and Shego kicks Fiske in. Duff takes his chances to save Ron by trying to push Shego in but Drakken notices it, makes Duff trip and follow after Monkey Fist. Now only Dr. Drakken and Shego are left and they go on with the plan.
Ron gets kidnapped, brainwashed, tutored and trained in private by the two of them.
Things have changed quite a bit for both Drakken and Shego. The plan is still top priority but they do find a bit of joy in raising the kid. Drakken and Ron are almost inseparable at this point. At first Drakken was annoyed by the constant questioning of the child, but once Ron showed enthusiasm for Snowman Hank and helping his 'dad' out in the lab, Drakken warmed up, a lot.
Shego had a more calculated approach at the start. Since she has a degree in children's development, she knows how and where to manipulate little Ron. Other than that she started training him young and got a lot of fun out of teaching the boy different fighting techniques and him chopping a wooden plank in half and injuring a henchman at the same time!? Amazing!! As a bonus: the hugging, the "I love you mama"s at bedtime and the surprisingly sweet bouquets of hydrangeas she received for mother's day were very sweet.
The three became an unexpected family.
Ron is a whole different person now. Calculated, sharp and very skilful in fighting. But he also has a softer side to him that comes out when he and Drakken start talking about nerd stuff.
One day, Shego stole a very valuable microchip, one of the last pieces they needed for world domination and like clockwork; Kim Possible appeared at the lair to save the day. However it wasn't the evil megalomaniac and his sidekick she had to fight but, a teenage boy? Wait, she recognised his face!
They fought and for most of it, Kim dodged and analysed her opponent. Ron growing frustrated started to fight more recklessly, giving Kim opportunities to strike. She managed to get back the microchip and got away but not before reassuring Ron that she'll 'help' him.
Shego partially felt like she had failed the training and that this 'mother charade' was to blame for it. The boy was still weak and his weakness affected her over time.
Drakken let it slide. He saw this as a victory because comparing Ron to how he used to be, this was a very close to being the ultimate weapon against the teen hero. The boy needed just a bit more drive and Drakken knew that revenge would be just that.
Drakken sent out Ron to retrieve the once stolen microchip to redeem his previous failure and as extra task: kill the teenage hero.
Ron manages to find Kim alone in her house and they start battling it out. Kim tells him that she has suspicions that he's not who he thinks he is nor are Drakken and Shego. She tells him about the boy that got abducted on the first day of kindergarten, the missing posters and how the entire city was on a wide search for him. Ron gets conflicted over all of this and breaks down. Kim wants to comfort him but gets punched out cold. Ron is about to give a final strike and end her but what she said, he has to know if she was speaking the truth. He finds the microchip and returns home.
Drakken is delighted when his 'son' returns and even more proud to hear that "Kim Possible has been taken care of." Drakken leaps into the air and says that this calls for a doomsday party. Ron says he feels a bit tired and retreats to his bedroom. Later on when everyone's passed out, he starts snooping around and after thorough searching. Ron finds out about the entire plan and the monkey idle. He calls for Kim through her website and she arrives. He tells her what happened and how to fix this until they get disturbed by Drakken and Shego.
The four of them battle it out with both parties hurt by this betrayal. In the end the money idle shatters and brings everything back to the status quo.
QUESTIONS I IMAGINE SOME OF YOU HAVE
"Kim and Ron lost at the start of the special because they lived far apart from one another, how would this play out here?" Easy, Drakken managed to disrupt the kimmunicator signal connected to Wade before, who says he can't do it again? Señior Senior Senior also managed to find Wade's home address so it won't be hard to find him and destroy all his tech. That way, Kim won't know where the villains are.
"But wouldn't present Kim stop them by going back in time?" No, she can't. There is no supreme one in this story, so Rufus 3000 (Kim's key to time travel) has likely a happy life OR doesn't exist. Besides the villains won't interfere with her memories from that day. They make sure not to get spotted by little Kim at all. Soon enough the timeline changes and Kim won't remember meeting Ron at all.
"But will Kim still be a hero? Ron convinced her to take on her first mission after all!" I'd say yes! Kim was always destined to be a hero. She might get more cries for help from people in need. I mean, when in crisis people might make mistakes writing to team Impossible. Kim wouldn't be able to ignore these requests because people are in danger and she feels the need to help.
"Won't Dr. Drakken and Shego be very old by the time Ron caught up in age?" Sitch in time's final act was a 20 years future gap and going from past to present is around 7 years + if they really care about appearances, they can still use the juvinator that Drakken has.
"Where are past Drakken and Shego? Won't they ruin the plan?" Like in sitch in time they would've probably convinced their past selves to go along with the plan. So let's say this is the timeline present day and past Drakgo:
- Drakgo goes to past, explains the plan to their past selves including the importance of the monkey idle and where to find it and secure it before past monkey fist gets his hands on it.
- Co-exist and follow the plans. They got double the ammunition for world take over and present day Drakken points out flaws in past Drakken's designs and plans.
- Once they caught up to present day, team past goes back in time to repeat the cycle (this time without Monkey Fist and Duff).
Hope you like this little concept!!
Special thanks to @creatorping for discussing the design with me!

Two Loves of Mine
Holy shit, part 6 is absolutely my favorite part this far. There are so many emotions in this next piece. I really hope you all love this so much.
Tumblr media
-Duff’s POV-
Bree is the first person I spot when I enter the courthouse. She’s well dressed in dark gray dress pants and a black blouse with ruffles down the center. Aislinn stands beside her with a stuffed animal tucked under her arm, holding both Bree’s and Tallulah’s hand. Tallulah sees me and gives me a slight nod hello, and my heart bursts at the grin on Aislinn’s face when she spots me, dropping her mom’s and aunt’s hand. “Daddy!”
I don’t think I’ll ever get used to hearing that. She runs toward me, jumping into my outstretched arms, and she’s safe there. She’s safe with me, and I hope in due time, Bree is able to see that. “Hi, angel.”
She pulls back, smiling, and I’m left smiling too. Briefly my eyes zone in on Bree, who is wrapped up in Tallulah’s embrace. An older woman, I presume Bree’s attorney, pats her back gently. I can’t see her face, but her body shakes rapidly. I frown. Is she crying?
“I missed you, Daddy,” Aislinn says softly, pulling me from a trance. “I don’t like not seeing you. It makes me sad.”
“I know, sweetheart,” I answer gently, running a hand over her blonde curls. Her eyes are bright and emotional. “It makes me sad, too. But after this whole thing is over, maybe you and I can go out for some lunch soon, yeah?”
Aislinn nods eagerly, clutching the small purple bunny to her chest. “And Mommy?”
I sigh, gaze settling on Bree once more. Her back is toward me, possibly on purpose, as she runs her fingers under her eyelashes. “Only if she wants to.”
I stand when Tallulah approaches, gently taking one of Aislinn’s hands. “Ai, baby, you’re going to stay with me while Mommy and Daddy take care of a few things, okay?” Aislinn nods, and Tallulah gives me a sad look. “You should...talk to her. Or try to, at least. Duff, she’s my very best friend, and I’ve never seen her more broken.” She pats my arm, whispering the last part before guiding Aislinn outside.
I swallow nervously, stuffing my hands inside my pockets before taking strides forward, eventually landing just inches away from Bree’s frame. I close my eyes, contemplating if I should walk away and give her space, before clearing my throat and resting a hand on her shoulder. “Please don’t cry, Bree.”
She whips around, hair splayed over her shoulders, with daggers in her eyes. She’s still crying. Wet mascara is smudged underneath her eyelashes. The sight alone makes me want to cry, too. “Don’t cry?” She asks, laughing sarcastically. “Don’t cry?”
I bite my tongue. Okay, maybe that wasn't the best thing to say. “Seeing you cry hurts me, Bree. It always has.”
She laughs again, shaking her head. Her eyes focus on the tile floor. “It hurts you,” She whispers to herself, clicking her tongue. When she glances up at me, her eyes are clouded with more tears. “Do you want to know what hurts me, Duff?”
I stand my ground as she steps forward. Her hands bounce by her side with every step. My fingers twitch, itching to reach out and find the spaces between her fingers, to provide her with some form of comfort. “You’re taking everything from me,” She whispers weakly. “And you don’t even care that you’re doing it.”
“I just--.”
“Aislinn is my whole world. I have done everything in my power to raise her in the best way I see fit. I have devoted my life to being her mom. I don’t need anything from you. I don’t want anything from you. Please, open your eyes and see that.”
“This isn’t about you,” I say sharply. “This is about Aislinn and what’s best for her and what she needs.”
“She doesn’t need a part time father!” Bree exclaims, throwing her arms up in exasperation. I feel the heat rush to my face. Unkind words tickle the tip of my tongue but I bite them back. “Your lifestyle has you gone for months. Months, Duff. She doesn’t deserve a father who misses birthdays or sports games or hell even stupid parent teacher conferences. She doesn’t need you. We have been perfectly fine without you. But you can’t let this go, can you?”
“No, I can’t,” The words finally slip off my tongue, and the minute Bree’s eyes widen in horror, I regret it immediately. “And you know what, Bree? This is your fault. Yours. Not mine. You kept the pregnancy from me. You kept me in the dark and decided to raise her alone. And I’m sure you have done a wonderful job because from what I see, our daughter is a bright, kind, sweet little girl, and I’m also sure she gets all of those qualities from you, baby,” When I step forward, I see Bree’s bottom lip wobble slightly. I’m tempted to kiss away the shaking, but I risk getting slapped in public. I weigh the pros and cons and decide not to cause a scene in the courthouse. “But no, I can’t let this go. Aislinn knows who I am. She wants me in her life just as much as I want to be in hers, and I will see that through, even if I have to take her from you.”
The color drains from Bree’s face as she takes a small step back. Fear and panic take over her features, and I’m left looking like a fish with its mouth opening and closing. “Bree, I’m sorry-.”
“How dare you,” She seethes. Then, pointing a shaky finger, she breaks down. “How dare you.”
“Bree, no-.”
“I did what I thought was right,” She cries softly. “I was twenty years old and I was sad and scared for the future. And fine, I didn’t give you the benefit of the doubt and maybe I should have. But you showed no fucking signs of slowing down, Duff. Night after night I watched you down drinks like you needed them to live and I realized that I could not and would not raise a child with you. It was the hardest decision I’ve had to make because I loved you so fucking much and there’s nothing that I wanted more than to raise her with you. But I just couldn’t do it, and in the state you were in, you couldn’t either,” She barely stops for a breath as she rambles on. “And for you to threaten me, to threaten to take my daughter away from me, after everything that I have done to ensure she has a beautiful life, is low. Even for you.”
“Listen to me, listen to me,” Against my better judgment, I cradle her tear stained cheeks between my palms. What’s more surprising is that she doesn’t object. “I would never take Aislinn away from you. Never. I am so sorry I said that, okay? Fuck, Bree, I would never do that to her. Or to you.”
When her eyes flutter shut, she can’t see the smile that spreads across my face when her cheeks settle deeper into my palms. I take the opportunity to dust a kiss across her forehead. I’m not satisfied. I want all of her, but I don’t push it.
She sniffs, pulling my hands from her face. “I know you care about her,” Bree whispers, biting her lip. “I can see it. You’ve never been this persistent about someone since-”
“Since you,” I answer confidently. She nods sadly, wiping her cheek with her palm. “It wouldn’t be the craziest thing if we started acting like a family, baby. You are both so important to me. We can try to make this work.”
“No,” Bree says quickly, shaking her head for emphasis. “No we can’t. You’ll be in Aislinn's life,” The light in her eyes turns dull. “But you’re going to stay the hell out of mine.”

I love them Poly!Guns x reader
I seen where someone wanted more Poly!Guns, so you asked so you shall recieve. Who doesn’t love Poly!guns anyways.
Summary: The reader’s mom and sister show up unannounced, planning on taking the reader back home. Tabloids showed up her in her hometown, the family was worried about her in LA. I always wondered how Poly realtionships work when telling the parents, so here’s my take on it.
Warnings: The boys being protective, silly with the reader. Cussing, arguing, implied smut. Think that’s all, sorry if I missed any
Tumblr media
I moved to L.A. the day after graduation from high school, and had been saving money since I was 13. Living in a small town Colorado, where you’ve gone to school with the same kids since Elementary school, becoming a townie scared me. Since then, I’ve not talked to my family that much.  I met the boys one night after a show, Izzy bumped into me while walking down the strip. We all became friends and then our little thing started, we dated each other. It had been a thing for two almost three years now, I loved every minute of it, and loved my boys as well.
Duff and I were making breakfast as slowly each boy came down, pissed that they had to start their day. “Did you open that one envelope? Looked like it was from home”, Duff asked. “I’m not sure how they found me. I’ve not gave them my new address”, I laid eggs on a plate. “Why don’t you talk to them anymore?”, Duff asked again. “Just don’t. I’m the black sheep of the family, babe. I never wanted to stay in Colorado,work on the family ranch or get pregnant with a shitty high school football player. They didn’t like it so I left after graduating.”, I said. “I’m glad you left”, Izzy passed by us. “I’m not saying I’m not glad she left, but it’s weird that the envelope has stayed on the counter, unopened”, Duff said. “Fine, I’ll open it after I eat and shower”, I groaned. I know Duff was only being nice, but I didn’t like hearing from my family.  There was knock on the door, “Come in”, I said, sliding into some black skinny jeans. “Hey”, Duff said, shutting the door behind him. “You’re really determined to have me open that aren’t you, baby”, I smirked. “Yes. It could be a death in the family and you wouldn't know it”, Duff stubbed up.  “Alright”, I slides my finger under the seal and opened the envelope.
 Jacqueline Bennett
It was my mom’s name and my childhood home’s address. “What the hell do you want?”, I groaned.  The doorbell rung, “You expecting anyone?”, I asked Duff. He shook his head no. “Y/nn!”, Slash yelled. I dropped the letter on the dresser and headed downstairs. “Think it’s you with the visitor babe”, Duff said, following suit. “Who knows”, I said. I made it downstairs, in the living. I looked up, it was my mom and older sister, Kelly standing in front of the door. “Mom. Kelly. What are you doing here?”, I swallowed. “We came to bring you home”, My mom said. “No, you’re not. I have a life here and did you forget I’m 24”, I said, crossing my arms across my chest.
The boys stayed silent, watching me and my mom go back and forth. Kelly was checking Izzy out. “I left for fucking reason and swore I would never move back. Leave mother!”, I ran upstairs, slamming my door.
Izzy’s pov-
 Y/n’s mom and sister stood there in shock, tension was tight. I stood up from the couch, “I’ll go check on her” I reached her door, heard crying. “Y/n. It’s me, Iz”, I said. A little ‘come in’ was said, she was crying her eyes out before I walked in. “Hey baby. Wanna talk about it?”, I said, shutting the door, her back was turned to me. Y/n jerked up, “Why does she think I need to come back home? It’s hell there, Izzy. I’m overlooked there, they forget my name, if I’m sick or not. My siblings have families and have good careers, I have five siblings, I’m just the second middle kid. Please don’t let her take me back”, She cried. “We’re not gonna let her. You’re 24, you have your own life. Screw what your siblings have, you have us, friends, free travel when we’re on tour. They’re stuck in some hick town while you get to see the world, don’t worry about them. I’m not being mean, but they really don’t care. Just worried that you’re with five guys instead of one. It’s not their business how many people you date or have kids with, you’re an adult”, I said. Here lately every magazine has been exposing our relationship with each other. Y/n has been called a groupie, whore that can’t be satisfied by one guy. Guess it made it to Colorado.
Y/n calmed down and was sitting on my lap, brading a strand of my hair. “Think I’m gonna take them on the patio, I hate that you guys were stuck between it.”, Y/n said. “Okay, I’ll have Duff take them out. Give you a little more time”, I said, walking to the door. “Thanks. Hey Izzy?”, Y/n asked. “Yeah?”, I turned back at her. “I love you”, She smiled. “I love you too, princess”, I smirked. “Hey Duff”, I said, locking eyes with the tall blonde. “She okay?”, Duff started to worry. “Y/n asked if we could take her mom and sister to the patio. She wants to talk to them in private. Can you take them out there please?”, I asked. “Of course”, Duff said. I watched as Duff brought them through the kitchen and out to the patio. Y/n’s mom gave me the stank eye.  “Izzy, are they out there?”, Y/n asked. “Yeah. You gonna be okay?”, Duff answered. “I think so. I love you, Duffy”, She kissed his cheek. “I love you too, Princess”, Duff kissed her lips. We both watched her go out there. “We’re not letting them take her back”, Duff said. “Oh hell no!” Axl and I said at the same time. “She won’t go down without a fight”, Slash said. “Okay, lets quit being peeping toms”, Duff said. We all went downstairs.
Y/n’s Pov
“Okay tell me how wrong I am being with them?, I sat down at the table. “Why are you with them? Do they pay you?”, My mom asked. “Because I love them very much, I feel safe and loved by my boys. No, I don’t get paid to have sex or whatever crazy ass thing you’re thinking”, I giggled. “Are you together or it’s a groupie thing?”, Kelly asked. “What’s a groupie?”, my mom asked. “Someone who has sex with a couple members of a band or the whole band. No strings attached, some have girlfriends or are even married. But when on the road, they get lonely and their girl isn’t there to you know?”, I said. “And Kelly, we’re together”, I said. “Okay, huh. What made you get into a relationship with them?”, Mom asked. “I don’t know, it just kinda happened. Nobody hasn’t spoken up and said they wanted out and to be with another person.”, I said, looking at her face. Confusion and disgust was all over her face. Kelly was from my time, understood what groupies were and sure she’s married but she was passed around the offensive line and the quarterback in high school.
“What it is called? When you go out with multiple people, honey?”, My mom asked. “Polyamorous”, I sighed. “Poly what?” “Poly means multiple”, Kelly said.  “Right. Mom, I know this isn’t something you wanted to hear that your daughter is in love with five guys. I didn’t think I would either but life put it that way. I’m happy with them, they all make me smile in their own way. I get something different from each other. You don’t have to worry, this might to be anything any longer, but let me enjoy it while it’s still a thing”, I said holding her hand. “Guess, we didn’t see that way. You do glow more, I’m sorry for never realizing how unhappy you were back home. I love you so much, Y/n. Please keep in contact with us okay?”She smiled. “Okay, you two want to stay for lunch?”, I asked. “No, thank you sweetie. We’ve been here a week trying to find you. Our plane leaves in a few hours”, My mom stood up. “Sorry, you didn’t find me sooner”, I sighed.
“Can you at least meet them? I’ve met half of their parents”, I smiled. “After our tiny argument?”, Mom asked. “They don’t care, come on”, I giggled. They were just spooked that their girlfriend was yelling at a random lady in the living room. I would be too, if their mom came in guns blazing.
“Boys. I want you to meet my mom, Jacqueline and my sister, Kelly. Sorry about earlier”, I said. They were at the table, Duff was digging something out of the fridge.  “This is Izzy, Slash, Axl, Steven, and who is gonna hit his head is Duff”, I pointed at each of them. “I am not! Son of a-”, Duff groaned, after hitting his head on the edge of the counter. Kelly giggled. “You didn’t bust it open this time, bonehead”, I rubbed his head, for any nics or blood. “I hated having staples in my head”, Duff raised up, rubbing his head. “I know you did, I hated them too”, I giggled. Duff had pulled me into his side and brushed a piece of hair out of my face. I caught my mom smiling at us. “Honey, I hate to leave but we have a plane to catch”, My mom said, tearing Duff and I apart. “Right. I’ll walk you out”, I said. “Axl, what are you doing?”, I asked as the red head followed us. “I have to get something out of my car, babe”, Axl smiled, grabbing my hips. “Not now”, I whispered, feeling his bulge poke my ass. “Not my fault you and your sister have ass”, Axl smirked, passing me to go to his car. “I’ll kill you”, I mouthed as I approached their rental car.  “It was nice seeing you, sis”, Kelly smiled. “You too. How are the kids?”, I asked. “Good, growing like a weed. Conor almost passes me”, Kelly said. “Wow, that means he towers me”, I giggled, thinking of my nephew. Kelly was 5’8, means Conor is at least 5’10, and I’m still 5’3. “Yeah. Annie starts 3rd grade next year, they miss their Auntie Y/n a lot”, Kelly gave a small smile. “Next time, if we’re close to home I’ll see what I can do to come see everyone. Tell everyone I love them.”, I said, pulling Kelly into a hug. “I love you, Kelly”, I whispered.  “Love you too, kid”, She tightened the hug. “Okay, my turn”, My mom whined.  “You’ve changed into a beautiful woman, Y/n. Your Dad would be so proud of how you’ve grown, he misses his buttercup a lot. Call him when you can, okay?”, My mom said. “I will, Momma. I love you and Dad”, I smiled.
I watched them as they drove down to the neighbor, going to the airport. “You okay, Y/n?”, Steven asked. “Mhm, oh yeah. I’m good, Stevie”, I smiled. I walked over to Steven and smiled. “You forgot something?”, Steven smirked. “My good morning kiss”, Steven pouted. “Nobody got theirs, Stevie”,I giggled, leaning up to kiss his lips. Steven opened the door, there stood Izzy with his arms crossed,pout on his face. I pulled him down to kiss him, “There you, big baby. That better?” “Very much so”, Izzy grinned. I laughed, walking upstairs. Slash pulled me to his lips, “You’re off your routine girl” “Sorry Slashy”, I rubbed his cheek.  “Are you still gonna kill me?”, Axl asked, smirking. “No”, I kissed him. “Good girl”, Axl smirked, smacking my ass. Duff’s back was turned, I wrapped my arms from behind. “Hey Baby”, He said. “Hi. You wanna a kiss?”, I asked. “Mhm, I’ll take a makeout session instead”, I knew he was smirking.  “Put me on the counter and I’ll deliver”, I smirked as he picked me up. I kissed him. “Hey Y/n, is it weird I find your mom sorta hot?”, Axl yelled from upstairs. “Very! She’s bitcher than I am”, I yelled back, rolling my eyes. “I like your bitchyness, it’s hot”, Duff pulled me into  him more. “You’re fucking crazy”, I said. “That song is about you, you know?”, Izzy smirked. “Fuck you, Izzy”, I flipped him off before hopping down from Duff’s arms. “You did last night, hot lips”, Izzy said as he disappeared upstairs.

cinderella story || sugawara koushi
Pairing | Sugawara x F! Reader
Genre | Fluff
Summary | chat room pen-pals to lovers
It Suga’s birthday today!! He was one of the first characters I fell in love with in hq, so he always has a special place in my heart 🥺 I was re-watching A Cinderella Story (the one w Hillary Duff, a masterpiece *chef’s kiss*) and I was like ?? Prince Suga ?? It was such a Eureka moment for me lmaoo. Hope you enjoy <3 (Y/I = your initial)
S - Where have you been? We haven’t talked in ages.
You chuckle and shake your head, anxiously sending back a speedy reply.
Y/I - We talked this morning, you goof
S - But I can’t stop thinking about you. What’s on your mind right now?
You had to hand it to him, he was always had some kind of charming counter to your every text. And by “he”, you didn’t have a clue who it was. They only go by “S”, and you met in a chat room with similar aspirations to a certain college. From then on, you to hit it off, confiding in each other for almost a month now.
Y/I - You first!
S - I’m starting to think one day Hinata will snap and give Kageyama a taste of his own medicine.
You look up to find Hinata cowering in fear as Kageyama repeatedly bursts out, “BOKE!! Hinata-Boke!!”
You giggle and look around the schoolyard, eyeing multiple guys to find any kind of sign as to who your mystery digital pen-pal could be. But no luck.
You text back some laughing emojis, to be rewarded with his sweet words once more.
S - Gosh, I want to hear your laugh. When can we finally meet?
Y/I - Hopefully soon!
You were barely able to send your reply just as the bell rang, signaling you to go to class, henceforth putting the conversation off until later that evening.
S - I know being a teacher isn’t the most high-paying job in the world, but to me it’s the most rewarding. Being able to give kids a chance for a bright future is what I feel is my calling, you know? I’ll have to break it to my parents somehow.
Y/I - I’m sure they’ll understand. They love you, so I’m positive they’ll support you no matter what. It’s your dream, after all!
S - Well, as long as you support it, then I have nothing to worry about. On a different note, have a date for the homecoming dance?
Y/I - Nope, just tagging along with my friends. Why, S, are you asking to be my date? Won’t it ruin the anonymous relationship we’ve got goin on? Lol
S - It would, yes, but I’ve waited far too long to finally meet you, and this is perfect. In fact, I’ll make you an offer.
Y/I - Shoot
You lean forward in your chair, both in anticipation and curiousity.
S - Please meet me at the homecoming dance. I’ll be waiting for you at 11 o’clock in the middle of the dance floor.
S - Sweet dreams.
He doesn’t give you a chance to reply before you both left the chat room. Even if he had, you didn’t know what to say.
The day of the dance arrived. After you and your best friend, Kiyoko, battled through a list of pros and cons of meeting up with “S”, she finally forced convinced you to go. You couldn’t find a costume in time, so she forced you into let you borrow her Cinderella-like princess costume from a couple years back. Surprisingly, it fit perfectly.
“You have the costume, you have the mask, you have the date, and you have the transportation. Now what excuse are you going to give me to try and work out of this?” Kiyoko raised a brow as she sensed you backing out already.
You sigh, and flip onto her couch as best as you could. The gown you wore was no joke, fitting so perfect it almost hurt to breathe at times. “I don’t know. He seems to good to be true. What if I meet him and I’m not what he expects? Maybe this whole relationship’s better in the chat room.”
You weren’t sure how, but here you were. In the middle of the dance floor, at exactly 11. Just like “S” asked.
“Well, if our unintentional-matching costumes don’t show we were meant to be, then I don’t know what will.”
You whip your head around, and find a stunning, silver-haired prince standing before you. Literally. He was dressed as a masked Prince Charming.
He reaches for your hand. “I have a better spot in mind, one without a bunch of sweaty, hormonal teens. Care to join me, Y/I?”
Without hesitation, you grab onto his hand. He leads you to a quaint gazebo, decorated with fairy lights and flowers all around. The two of you go under, already deep in conversation.
He spins you around, as a few violin players appear out of nowhere.
“May I have this dance, Y/I?”
“Absolutely.”
Minutes, hours, days seem to pass. At some point, the two of you stopped. Time stood still.
‘S’ is the first one to speak up. “I feel like I’ve known you forever. But, I dont know who you are. So...can we...?”
You knew what he meant. After a few seconds of thought, you agree.
“On the count of three then,” you set the rule.
one...two...three...
You each take of each other’s masks, only to stare at each other in both shock and wonder.
“Suga?? Ohhhh, the ‘S’ is so obvious now!” you burst out.
Suga laughs, a bit relieved. “Well, I’ll admit I’m a bit relieved you weren’t some random stalker or something. Whew!”
You lightly punch his arm. “Well, I can’t say I didn’t secretly want my ‘Prince Charming’ to be my crush or any-” you stop, silently cursing yourself at your sudden confession.
“Don’t worry. I’ve been captivated by you for a while, even before this whole chat room started. Not to burst your bubble or anything, but I actually found out your identity the other day, which is why I suddenly found the courage to ask you out.”
You jokingly narrowed your eyes. “It was Kiyoko, wasn’t it?”
Suga threw his hands up in innocence. “I’m not naming names, princess.”
You roll your eyes, proceeding to trace your hands up his neck. “Well, whoever it was, I’ll have to thank them. It worked out for both of us, I suppose,” you say as you play with the bottom wisps of his hair.
“Not yet, it hasn’t.”
Once again, he never gave you the chance to reply. But instead of logging off the screen, he swooped down and enveloped you in an endearing and sensual kiss.
A few months later, the two of you rode towards your Happily Ever After on your chariot (Suga’s car), heading into new, unprecedented land (college).

Fruit Salad
Pairing: Axl Rose x OC
Word Count: 1260
Info: Parties aren’t ideal for girls like her. They’re more ideal for the men her brother spent his time with - at least, she thought so, until an old childhood friend forced her to meet his bandmate. A bit of an experiment, if you will! If people like this enough, I’ll create somewhat of a series from it, so any comments at all are wholly welcome!!
She wasn’t meant to be here. She didn’t belong there. She was one of the most popular up-and-coming ballerinas in America. Damn it, she had been shipped off to Russia by her parents when she even uttered her interest in ballet when she was four, and yet there she was, stood in the middle of a crowded room, half-empty bottle of wine in hand. Veronica didn’t even know why she was there – well, she did, because it was her twin brother’s party – but she didn’t know why she was there.
A corner of the room exploded into laughter and she glanced over at the crowd surrounding a guy with blonde hair who was showing off some sort or trick; she could see something he was spinning in his hands, and she guessed it was either some sort of sports equipment or an instrument. The sound of banging against a wall confirmed it was the latter, and she could only guess that it was a pair of drumsticks.
“You look lost.”
She turned at the familiar voice, her eyes widening as she registered the tall figure before her.
“Duff?”
“Hey, Fruit Salad!” Duff grinned down at her and pulled her to his chest in a tight hug, pressing his nose against her red locks in order to inhale the faint scent of apple that had clung onto her locks. He always used to call her a fruit salad – considering she had managed to figure out how to make perfume from lemons at the age of 13, and that she religiously used the same apple shampoo from the same age – it seemed to fit. It seemed that the habit still hadn’t been dropped, and Duff was more than happy to realise that. Having experienced puberty together as neighbours, the two had been inseparable once she returned from her schooling in Russia at the age of 13. It wasn’t until Duff announced his plans to leave Seattle and drive down to LA to make it big that they lost touch, but the moon that had been permanently drawn into her skin on her side promised that even if the world was between them, they’d never lose touch with each other.
Once Duff released her, she rested her free hand on her hip and stepped back to inspect his appearance – denim jacket, pants that were evidently a little too tight, scuffed cowboy boots, and the dark roots peeking out from the poor dye job on the mop he called his hair. She stifled a snort at the memory of the man walking into dinner with her family with bright blue hair when they were teenagers, much to her father’s horror. LA hadn’t changed him. He was still Duffy, he was still Sunshine. He was still her best friend.
“Your brother didn’t tell me that you were in LA.”
“My twin didn’t tell you a lot of things, it seems. I’ve got a place here – I managed to get a job in the theatre, so now I’m their resident Odile,” she grinned, before she glanced around the room, “speaking of Vincent, where is he? It’s his party, and I haven’t even seen him.”
“His wife came and started yelling at him or something. I guess she wasn’t pleased about the type of people that showed up at her house.”
“Really? And just what kind of people showed up? Not punk rockers, I hope,” Veronica teased, before she winked playfully at Duff and took a drink from the bottle in her hand. At the taste, she wrinkled her nose and shoved it into his hand after sending a glare at the liquid that remained in the bottle. She wasn’t too surprised when the blonde – well, wannabe blonde – just shrugged and drank the rest of the bottle before dropping it onto a nearby table. He barely flinched when she rolled her eyes, instead grabbing a bottle of vodka from the bar behind him.
“Worse. Sports people,” he joked, dodging the playful kick she sent his way in response to his teasing, “but really, we’re not all that bad. He invited the whole band, and he’s gettin’ on great with them. It’s his wife who hates us.”
He stuck his tongue out at the woman in question’s back, and then grinned mischievously at Veronica when she let out a soft snort. Duff never did approve of Vincent’s choice in women – not like Veronica did either, but at least she didn’t mock them behind their backs. No, that was Duff’s job; he was the one who always got her into trouble, and she was the one who got them out of trouble. At least, that was what their parents believed – Veronica had just as much a knack for finding trouble as Duff, and it seemed to find her at the same rate.
At least, that’s what she believed – especially when the sound of a slap resounded through the room, and a brunette stormed past. As soon as she was out of view, Duff grimaced and downed the rest of his alcohol before he paused, his smile slowly turning into a smirk as he looked from Veronica to the seething singer stood but a few steps away.
“Duff, what are you thinking?”
“Nothing! Hey, have you met Axl, yet?”
“Who?”
“Axl!”
Veronica turned to try and see the woman in question – at least, she could only guess it was a woman, she had her hair teased to the high heavens – only to falter when she, no he, turned around and made direct eye contact. Green met brown, and she felt her cheeks warm as she took in the sneer that had been painted onto his face before swallowing and standing as he marched over to them.
“Axl, this is Roni. She’s Vince’s twin, and I think you’d like her. She does ballet.”
“It- Hi,” she breathed out, her mind suddenly becoming a jumbled mess as she tried to regain control of her tongue in an attempt to stop herself from blurting out that she thought he was a she.
“Ballet, huh? Bit different than what we’re used to. Aren’t you meant to be having tea with the Queen of England or something?” Axl smirked at her, tilting his head in a way that was suddenly the most infuriating thing in the world to the redhead. In response, she huffed and pursed her lips before she jabbed a finger against his chest accusingly, her eyes narrowing.
“I am not some little girl who’s all fancy, I’ll have you know. You can’t just be Duff’s best friend and not get into shit.”
She ignored the spluttered sound of protest from the blonde beside her, tilting her head in response to Axl, before her eyes widened in fury at the scoff that slipped from his lips.
“Wow, what’s the worst you did? Skip class for a day?” Axl laughed at his own joke, and Veronica wrinkled her nose slightly at the scent of alcohol. Of course he was being an asshole, he was drunk. Like everyone else at the party. Like she was. Shit, had she been taking him too seriously? She closed her eyes and stifled a groan, before she opened them and offered her hand in somewhat of an attempt at providing a truce. Just as Axl took it, someone shoved past her and she fell forward, crashing straight into his chest. Before she could stammer somewhat an excuse of an apology, she was cut off by a low chuckle.
“Huh. What do you know, you smell like a fruit salad.”

Field of Poppies Part 4
Summary: After being apart for six years, childhood friends Tommy and Amelia reunite under odd circumstances. Tommy is an outspoken young man and Amelia is pregnant and out on the streets. The bond of family can be unbreakable but it is tested often. Especially when Europe descends into war.
Part 4: The Shelbys go on holiday to the summer fair.
Tumblr media
             With school on summer holiday, Polly was at her wit's end with the children. While they mostly played outside, they’d always be in and out of the house banging around, tracking mud on the floor, coming in with scraped knees, or crying about something being unfair. Meanwhile, Finn was starting to walk and was also wreaking havoc, pulling on everything not tied down and making quick getaways.
            So, it was decided they would spend some of the holiday on the road with the Strong family. Of course, Tommy and Arthur weren’t exactly pleased. Seeing as the betting shop was just getting up and started, they couldn’t afford to lose out on money. Polly insisted and said Danny and the other men could handle a few weeks.
            Going on seven months pregnant, Amelia was a bit apprehensive about traveling out to the Welsh countryside. However, Tommy assured her that if she were to go into an early labor, she was in capable hands, probably better than any doctor in Birmingham. It was enough to sway her. They all needed a break from the city’s smoke and mud. Some fresh air was bound to do them good.
             And oh how sweet the air smelled once they were finally away from the city limits. Amelia had been to the countryside before but had never joined Tommy’s family to see their kin out on the road. Her parents would never allow her to be near other Travelers, especially ones who tended to be more nomadic in nature than the Shelbys were.
            But Tommy had told her enough stories as a child to make her interested. He tried to scare her with the stories they would tell around the fires. Try to explain the excitement of spring and summer fairs. It seemed like another world when he described it all. To be out in the Welsh wilderness, sleeping under the stars, riding horses all day, spinning yarns about fairies, it seemed to be a child’s dream.
            Now, Amelia was much more aware of the struggles Tommy’s extended family faced. The prejudice and poverty. None of those issues mattered as a child. They had blinders on so they wouldn't see the ugly side of life. All they saw was the fantastical magic the world still held onto. She yearned to have that innocence back but there was no going back.
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
            On the second day of traveling to the Black Mountains, Tommy was steering the vardo with Amelia sitting beside him. He held the position naturally, letting the reins be an extension of his arms as he guided the two horses along. Arthur was on another horse, riding along while Polly and the other three children stayed in the back of the wagon.
            “Good to be outside, aye?” Tommy struck up a conversation as a lull in the muggy afternoon settled on them.
            “Oh yes.” Amelia nodded. “Good to see the clear sky instead of smoke.” She joked. "I forgot how blue the sky could get sometimes."
            “Get used to it. ‘Cause when we’ve got everything going with the shop, m’gonna buy a house out in the countryside.”
            She smiled. “Is that right?” It wasn’t the first time Tommy made bold claims. Once money started rolling in from the betting shop, he started promising things that sounded outlandish even to Arthur. He promised a brand new luxury car to John, a new five story house for Polly, as many horses as Ada could want, and now a house in the country.
            “Like a cottage. Mum, dad, and I used to rent one for the holidays out in Wiltshire.” She recalled. “Cute little place.”
            “No.” He shook his head, the cigarette in his mouth practically just a bit of ash. “One of those fucking big ones. Like royals have. Dukes 'n whatever they are.”
            “Oh, Thomas, please.” She giggled and nudged him.
            “I’m serious!” He chucked the last bit of his cigarette. “Big place, dozens of bedrooms, proper kitchen, riding stables, maids, cooks, everything. We’ll live there with the baby. He’ll have room to run ‘stead of being cooped up in Small Heath.”
            It sounded wonderful to Amelia, like the stories he used to tell about traveling. But it was so far-fetched. “Can we focus just on what we’ve got now?” She wondered. “Tommy, I’m okay with making do with what I’ve got…and what you and your family have given me.” She touched his knee.
            He glanced over at her, his blue eyes so bright in the summer sun. “You don’t think you deserve more than this?” He wondered. “Wouldn’t you rather a nice big house, proper holidays to places like France?”
            “All those things would be nice but if I never get those things then I’ll be fine. I’m okay with what I have now.” She smiled at him to reassure that there wasn’t anything he needed to prove to her or promise.
            Tommy sighed and his eyes returned to the grassy path ahead of them. “I know the baby’s not mine but…I don’t want any other kid to go hungry like we did. Ain’t right how we were brought up. And if I can change that for my family and for the baby then, why not?”
            Amelia felt she wasn’t in a place to tell if he was right or wrong. So, she leaned over to kiss his cheek affectionately. “You’re a good man, Tommy Shelby.” She said softly. “A very good man.”
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
            They met up with the Strongs at their camp and together they moved North to go to the Appleby fair. Ada chattered on to Amelia the whole ride there about how fun the fair was. There were crafts and fortune-tellers and horses, horses, horses. She would see all of her cousins and other distant relatives that they only got to see once in a blue moon. They’d race horses, swap stories, share laughs, and her brothers would box with the Lee boys.
            Although the trip took a little under a week, Amelia was in good spirits the whole way there. Tommy was practically a different person out in the countryside. He knew how to survive in Small Heath and knew how to survive outdoors just as well. He let loose a bit, not bothering to dress up and going barefoot a lot of the times. He smiled more and played with his siblings. It was as if he had left all his worries back in the city.
            Amelia thought he was so beautiful in the sun. His smile brightened ten fold, his eyes sparkled, and he moved as if he didn't have any stress on his shoulders. It warmed her heart to see him play-wrestling with John, riding horses with Ada, and picking up Finn to spin him around. For a moment, she pictured her child in the scene. A little boy or girl toddling after Tommy, looking for his attention. Tommy scooping them up and holding them close, just as a father would.
            All she could do was smile and keep her wide-eyed fantasies to herself. But it was so easy to get caught up in the magic of the forests and fields. It was so easy to get caught up in the smile of Tommy Shelby.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
            Ada was right, there was a lot to be said about the fair. Intricately and brightly painted vardos lined up and many people were milling around. There were people washing their horses in the rivers as children played and splashed one another by the banks.
            After a long journey, Amelia wanted to stretch her legs. Tommy walked with her along the river as the rest of the family prepared camp and watered the horses.
            “Pol said your feet might be hurting these days.” Tommy’s aunt was his go-to to get any pregnancy answers.
            “They’re a bit swollen, the heat doesn’t help,” Amelia admitted. Although getting to walk was nice, she was starting to get flushed in the heat.
            “And uh…any word from home?” He kept his eyes to the ground, kicking a stone along their way.
            “While we’ve been on the road for over a week?” She raised an eyebrow at him. “I haven’t gotten any messenger birds.”
            Tommy chuckled. “I meant when we were back home. I mean, we haven’t talked about it much.” He pointed out.
            Her smile faded. “No, I haven’t heard from them. I don’t know if they know where I am but I figured…well, I figured they would’ve thought to try and find me in Small Heath. I don’t know where else I would’ve gone with nothing in me pockets.
            “And the father?” They hadn’t broached the subject before because Polly insisted that he leave the matter be. But curiosity was just too damn tough to ignore.
            “Tom, I told you…”
            “Tommy Shelby!” Someone crowed out ahead of them. Three young men about Tommy and Arthur’s age stopped them.
            His face soured when he saw who was calling him. “Will.” He muttered obviously not in the mood to talk to them.
            “I heard the Shelbys were coming, how the hell are ya?” Will appeared to be the oldest of the three, a tall, broad-shouldered man with dark hair.
            “Fine, fine.”
           "And he's got someone up the duff." Will smacked a hand to his forehead when he saw Amelia. "Shelby, Shelby, Shelby. What a shame! You have to learn how to pull out or these things happen, Tommy."  He tutted in Shelta. "She is a sight though."
            Amelia suddenly felt very self-conscious about the baby bump showing. Of course, she ought to be showing at her stage of pregnancy, but she wasn’t keen on embarrassing the Shelbys. Especially if Tommy wasn’t actually the father.
            “Watch your fucking mouth.” Tommy spat venomously.
            The Lee brothers jostled each other, pleased that he was fighting back. “Still got that mouth on ya, Tommy Boy, haven’t ya?”
            “Fuck off.” He wrapped an arm around Amelia’s waist to steer her away from the brothers. “Fucking lowlifes never know when to shut their mouths..” He muttered under his breath.
            “Still got a fight in ya then? Or are ya too scared to step into the ring with me?” Will taunted after him.
            Amelia felt Tommy’s arm stiffen and he stopped in his tracks. Her eyebrows knit in worry. “Tom…” She warned.
            But he slipped away from her and turned to face the brothers again. “Name a time.”
 ~~~~~~~~~~
            “Ah, it’s never too long ‘til Tommy gets into it with one of the Lees at the fair.” Arthur punched his brother in the arm. “Lucky you got practice with those Birmingham Boys, aye?”
            Tommy avoided Amelia’s questioning glance even though he could feel her eyes on him.
            Polly didn’t even look like she wanted to get into the matter. Men fought at fairs, that was only tradition and it was in good fun most of the time. Besides, Small Heath was much more dangerous than a bout of boxing.
            Around the Shelbys’ camp, there was a buzz in the air of excitement. Music could be heard in a couple of different directions, people laughed and joined each other for a good time around the roaring fires and lanterns. Some girls some yards away were dancing in a circle, their long skirts illuminated by the flames.
            “When can I fight, Pol?” John asked hopefully. “I can take the Lees too!”
            “Hush.” Polly scolded. “When you’re older and you’ve learned how to box properly. I don’t want to bring you home with a broken hand.”
            John grimaced. “I’m old enough.” He muttered.
            “Men don’t pout or slouch.” She said and stood up to tend to Finn who was stirring in the vardo.
            “You gonna kill ‘im then, Tom?” Arthur smirked. “I heard he was…” He made a subtle gesture to Amelia who was talking softly with Ada. The eldest Shelby wanted to mention about how bad Tommy had it for Amelia. It was blatantly obvious to everyone. But neither of them seemed to want to admit it.
            Tommy tossed a twig into the fire mindlessly. “He’ll learn to keep his fucking mouth shut.” He mumbled.
            “Shelby!” Someone called.
            Arthur grinned and clapped his brother on the back. “Let’s go then.”
            “Tom?” Amelia looked worried when they stood up. “Where are you going?”
            “Gonna go fight, Mel. Tommy’s gonna show them Lees how to throw a good punch”
            “But…” Her stomach went into knots. “Maybe you could stay here and-”
            “Won’t be long, Mel,” Tommy promised.
            “Fine, then I’m coming.” She wrapped her shawl tighter around her shoulders and followed them.
            “Not really for women.” Arthur tried to show opposition to the idea but Tommy didn’t seem to mind. Maybe if she saw him fight, she would know he could hold his own and she wouldn’t have to worry about the betting shop. No longer was he the stick-thin little teenager who was sometimes more bark than bite. No, he’d found his anger and learned to use it to his advantage.
                       The makeshift ring was lit by lanterns and nearby fires. A group was already forming to watch the show. The Lees were riling Will up who was already there, waiting for his opponent. But they all seemed to be in good nature, passing drinks and cigarettes, laughing, and cussing.
            Tommy pulled off his undershirt and handed it to Amelia to hold. She was a bit stunned to see he had a tattoo on his chest. The sun-like lines were certainly new as far as she was aware. But she didn’t mention the ink.
            Arthur was handing his brother a flask, Tommy downing the contents before ducking under the rope.
            The crowd of onlookers was a bit rowdy, pleased to see young blood fighting like real men. Bare knuckles, no weapons, how it was meant to be a Romani man. A good show of tradition.
            Amelia felt her palms start to sweat. Will was a good head taller than Tommy was and seemingly more muscular by his build.
            However, Arthur, standing beside her, looked less than concerned. “He’ll be alright, Mellie. He’s taken down bigger fuckers than this one.” He promised.
            Amelia had seen Tommy fight before, but the last time must’ve been when they were only thirteen. The wiry boy had a habit for picking fights and never staying down even when he was bleeding or had a broken bone. She never seemed to mind seeing him fight while they were in school. But seeing him in the ring with someone bigger than him, it made her stomach flip-flop.
            And Tommy drew out the suspension. He allowed Will to get in a couple of swings, but he dodged them. His size allowed him to be quicker and more agile on his feet. The two circled around each other, fists up by their faces. Will looked smug with himself, confident that he would win. On the other hand, Tommy had fire in his blue-eyes. He wasn't fighting to have a few laughs.
            “Hit ‘im, Tommy!” Arthur roared after his brother dodged a couple more blows.
            Something changed in Tommy’s eyes as he threw a punch. Amelia could hear the blow land even over the boisterous crowd. She winced and ducked her head a bit. When had she ever been afraid to watch a fight? She must’ve egged on a few scuffles in her day. Goading Tommy to kick in the teeth of the school bully. But when Will landed a punch and she saw Tommy’s head jerk back, she cringed and hid her face in Arthur’s sleeve.
            She could still hear the contact of punches, the sound of the men spurring them on, and the grunts from Will and Tommy as they fought. But she couldn’t bear to watch it.
            It only took a few minutes before someone was shouting.“Oi, oi! Get ‘im off!”
            “Tom, c’mon, that’s enough!” Arthur moved from Amelia and got into the ring.
            She looked up and saw Tommy on top of Will, pummeling his face. Arthur ripped his brother off.
            "Got fucking devils in them. Those fucking Shelbys are rabid." Someone nearby remarked.
             "Aye, get it from their father. Murder in their blood."
             "Do not let me hear you talking about her again." Tommy threatened in Shelta before he finally let his brother steer him away from the ring. He spat on the ground, leaving the Lees to help an injured Will off the ground.
            Coated with a sheen of sweat, Tommy was breathing hard. Even in the dim light, Amelia could assess the damage. It seemed Will had taken the brunt of the fight. Tommy only walked away with a bloody lip, a bruise forming on his jaw, and some dirt sticking to his torso.
            “Go wash off and calm the fuck down,” Arthur ordered before heading back toward the camp.
  ~~~~~~~~~~
            Amelia followed Tommy to the river so he could wash the blood and dirt away. She lingered behind as he knelt down on the bank and splash cold water over him.
            “What did you say to him?” She wondered.
            “Nothing.” Tommy shook the water from his hair and wiped his hands over his face.
            “Well, you said something, Tom.”
            He stood and took his shirt back, using it to dry off a bit. “It was nothing.” He said again.
            They stood in silence for a bit. Music still hung in the air as the night wore on. There was an uproar from the crowd, signaling the start of another boxing match.
            Curious, Amelia stepped toward him and splayed her fingers out over his tattoo, following the direction of the lines. “This is new.”
            Tommy felt like his skin was on fire even after the cold douse of water. He couldn’t find the words for a long moment, simply watching her slender fingers trailing over the inked lines. “I-uh…you can’t tell Pol about it.” He tried to hide his stammer. “She’ll fucking kill me.”
            Amelia laughed softly and withdrew her hand. “Alright.” She agreed. “Your secret is safe with me.”
            He smiled and threw on the shirt to conceal the tattoo. “C’mon.” He murmured and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
Let Me Make Some Things Clear About My Talk About Pepe Le Pew
in case there was any form of misunderstandings, let me make this very clear as best as I can...
first of all if by some miracle Pepe does get uncancelled and rebooted,
maybe making him have a father who is from the USA, and his mother was from France, and Pepe picked up his accent from his mother and learned how to speak both English and French from both his parents.
but no matter where Pepe would suppose to be from, it doesn’t matter.
no matter where a person is from, they can either be good, bad or neutral.
yeah I get that there are some misunderstandings that involve Pepe, as well as Speedy.
both deserve to not be the target of humans who believe them to be 100% bad.
plus I really think those who didn’t think there was any true change in the characters like Speedy and Pepe, should at least check out the Looney Tunes Show from a few years back,
that is the same show that introduced Daffy’s love interest Tina.
plus there is that other new cartoon that is on boomerang,
that has Pepe in it, and he seems to be wearing a suit and flirts with that fox lady.
let’s say that Pepe was never portrayed as someone who was from france,
but instead was a skunk name Peter, and he was made to be a flirty guy acting the same as he was in his older cartoons, and he acted this way all over the USA, and none of which took place in Paris.
and then years later in the year we live now, those who live in America
start to call Peter The Skunk (who in alternate timeline was created by a man who was from Paris.) a insult to Americans and call it a “R” word culture.
but not all people would feel that way, at least I don’t believe that all people around the world and who live in different places in the said world would view Pepe or that metaphorical Peter The Skunk.
yeah it seems that it turns out that not only Pepe’s aggressive flirting is the problem, but it doesn’t matter where someone is from, they can be that way and it wouldn’t have to do with where they are from.
I didn’t want anyone to misunderstand my words from the other day,
so I wanted to sign back in to try to clear up somethings as best as I can.
Pepe could go from his aggressive advances to a friendly flirting and takes a No when given it once or twice, but could do a friendly wink or blow a kiss, but no longer do the aggressive flirting that comes off as what most humans do in real life.
Pepe and Johnny Bravo might be many things, but they wouldn’t do the disgusting filth some humans would do.
I want Pepe, Speedy and Johnny to be saved from the humans who want to hurt them, I have a dislike for humans, but at the same time I still like the good side of humans....but what humans are doing to Pepe and Speedy (and might go after Johnny Bravo too.)
is added to my dislike of humans, even if I am still human myself,
I am still disgusted by what is happening to Pepe and even Speedy,
who could be given the chance to be less misunderstood,
if rebooted and keep some of their personalities but at the same time
add something to their personalities too.
like Pepe understanding aggressive advances to the gals he becomes smitten with, will come off as uncomfortable and if he isn’t careful, some people,
like the humans in real life, will mistake his only wanting to kiss and cuddle,
as something more dangerous.
and yeah I have a mix heritage, but my heritage wouldn’t have to do with my being a bit weird or my sensitivity or whatever the other parts of myself.
I am still not happy about what I went through a few days ago, which I guess has been a week now, and it makes me wish those who worked on the updates, did a test on a test type computer, before sending it out to everyone.
Pepe is a bit of gal crazy, but no matter where he was suppose to come from, which was thought up in his creation or development...
he would still be that way, even if he wasn’t “Pepe Le Pew”
and went by a different name and lived in Brooklyn.
plus Fifi chases boys too, and Amy Rose was known to chase after Sonic.
so tell me this, what makes it so different...?
sure Amy in Sonic Boom was shown to have mature and doesn’t chase Sonic the same way as she did before, but she may still hold feelings of love for Sonic.
I can only hope that Fifi will still be in the reboot of Tiny Toons, and I do not want humans to ruin it for me and other humans.
Elmyra Duff should at least be given a chance, and get in the reboot too.
if it wasn’t for the good parts of humans, like friends and family....and other people in this world that live all over the world, that give some hope for humanity...
I believe that if it wasn’t for that, I would 100% hate humanity and be full misanthrope, and if  Ainz Ooal Gown was real and wanted to take over the world, well I might just side with the Overlord skeleton and the rest of nazarick.
even if I am suppose to be a Earth Angel, which my pendulum gave a Yes to,
and is one of the times I don’t think it is playing a prank on me.
but no matter if I was that or not, one can have a dark side that we all try to suppress, and it being from how the world is around us.
like having a dad that ups and left before ya were born,
or have suppress memories that you don’t remember until years later,
and when you try to tell your family about it, they don’t believe that your older cousin would do such a thing, and it makes you question if it was real and if it really did happen or if it was just a warning dream that you had when you were just a little girl, and yet even when you tried to talk to your family about that sicko, at some point, a few years later, you find out that.....older cousin you tried to tell your family about, had did something really bad to someone, that they “hurt” someone....
my remembering might of been for the reason, and if I was listen to, maybe it wouldn’t of happen....at least they are locked up.
I still love my family, but I don’t care much for the one that is still family but
I knew deep down was a monster, I just didn’t know how far it was.
I think it is possible what happen when I was little was a warning dream,
warning me to stay away from them, but at the same time I can’t help but wonder if it really did happen.
I mean before I heard about the Slenderman, I remembered I had this one dream once that had a faceless man in it, and the dream was in the woods
and it had a basket ball court, and I know that I felt hands on my shoulders and me being turned around to face what appeared to be a faceless man.
and I’m pretty sure I woke up scared after that, I guess I am questioning more about if Slenderman existed way before he ended up in the Slender Games.
I guess I want to keep to the whole him being fictional, but at the same time agree with the possibility that he could be real.
so I guess I can admit I’m in between.
and yeah I’m still not happy about what happen some week ago,
I am doing okay so far, so long as I don’t think too much about it I guess.
but I still think humans should at least try a different way to change Speedy and Pepe, and instead of try to cancel them.
still should try to watch the Looney Tunes Show that came on a few years ago,
that has Lola being different from her Space Jam self, and even has Tina in it,
which Tina should show up in other Looney Tunes Shows as well,
not just that one.
also I wanted to wait to say this, but I think I did get permission to go live with the Divine Mother and her handmaidens/Lucifer’s Daughters, well you know like a someday thing.
I asked for the sign for Yes be that it rained, which I think it was March 25th when I asked for that sign.
even if some might take it as a coincidence, I’m taking it as a Yes and Permission, which is good, because even if I did end up going to Heaven,
I would still try to find that edge and jump off of it by my own free will,
even if I am not a big fan of heights, I could just close my eyes...
I did use that whole jumping off of heaven idea on a fan fic.
and well I asked permission through prayer, plus there was a bit more to that prayer too, but ya don’t need to know all of it currently.
plus I am starting to believe that the True Year is 3021, and what we know as “2021″ is some form of a fake year or like a “Neo-Year” that humans from long ago made so to possibly hide some secret.
I mean for all we know, my pendulum could of been truthful about the whole Non-Humans in the video game of Mass Effect, being Real In Real Life.
well my pendulum does pull pranks...
and I still wish to go back in time to March 11 before the incident of the stupid update so I can stop myself from pressing that stupid update again, and I am still gonna hope for that to happen.
well maybe me not really going back in time, more like hoping for some changes during that time to happen, and I don’t want to give up in that happening.
anyway back to the whole Pepe, he could be changed to be less aggressive flirt so he doesn’t get misinterpreted as the type
that most humans are known to be.
he could be changed to be a friendly flirt, and who does take no for answer, but could just do friendly flirting without doing the past actions he is known for.
Speedy Gonzales could have a change as well, but could make it so that his character is no longer misinterpreted either.
and yeah Johnny Bravo, if he ever gets a reboot, he could be a bit flirting still, but not be as aggressive either.
but at least Johnny and Pepe aren’t the type that would “hurt” women in the way some humans do in real life, and that what makes them worth saving.
plus it isn’t like it is just the male characters that do that whole chasing and aggressive flirting too, Fifi La Fume and Amy Rose were that way too.
and I want those two girls to be protected from humans who would try to do the same thing to them as what they are trying to do to Speedy and Pepe.
I hope some of you understand my feelings, sure even if there are still good people in the world, some do insensitive things and will at times cross the line.
plus it really doesn’t matter where a person is from, how they act and what they do, can be from who they are by their very soul, and sometimes when ya get reborn, you might not end up being reborn in the same country or speak the same language that you did in one of your past lives.
some might not fully get what I’m trying to say or go with this.
anyone can be a good or bad person, or even a neutral,
it wouldn’t necessary have to do with them being like from well,
from either America or even any other place.
ya don’t place blame on toon, just being human, and acting out on his own personality and even having the said Pepe become scared when the girl ends up chasing him instead.
which has happen in one of those old cartoons.
do any humans even try to think that no matter where Pepe could come from,
he could still end up being flirty, but could still have room to grow as a character and become just friendly flirting and no longer be aggressive flirty?
both Pepe, Speedy and Johnny and any characters like them, deserve the chance to grow as characters and to be given a fair chance and to prove they aren’t like the monster men and women that are in real life.
I am still counting the women, because it isn’t just the men that do that disgusting stuff that I don’t want to say what it is.
  I’m going to keep hoping that things get better and Pepe ends up back in Space Jam 2, and if Speedy is going through the same thing, then I hope Speedy will still be in Space Jam 2 as well.
I’m just gonna try to hope for the best for those characters,
and humans start to see the truth.
I’m listening to Lily Allen’s song F**k You.
after I finish listening to it, I will go and play a video game.
I want to try to keep my mind off of what happen a week ago,
as well as the fact some stuff I had saved before might be lost and possibly on the the abomination dark web, which I still hope that my and everyone else’s stuff returns to where they were before that stupid incident.
another way to try to keep my mind off of that day that really upset me,
is that whole taking a nice nap, to sleep it away and try to not let it enter my mind.
  I’m also going to hope that my pendulum is just pulling a prank
and just reading on my worries/fears and using it to prank me,
and no one truly wished for me to have such a experience a week ago.
cause if it turn out to be true, then I will be really mad and would want to try to have a lot of time to myself to try to do the things I like to calm me down.
well and try to do mediation or like sleep it off.
and try to hope that some events from that week will have a timeline change,
and it will give me hope that everything I had saved before, will return.
especially the cute baby kitten pictures I had taken of my second cat.
and if someone truly did wish for me to lose the new work or even the stuff I had saved on to the computer, well let’s hope that it isn’t true and my pendulum is just pulling a prank on me.
but if it turn out to be true, then the one who hoped such bad luck would happen to me, could get a itchy feeling on a part of their body for the whole day and even to the next day.
but since that can’t possibly be true, and my pendulum could be pulling one of it’s pranks, I will try to think of it as bad luck on my part and I shouldn’t of trusted that update.
 I want to believe that Pepe and Speedy will be saved from the humans that wish to hurt them, and they will get rebooted for their own sake because of the misunderstandings that they unintentionally bring about.
even if some of my stuff still ended up still being on the computer,
the much newer stuff was well ya know....
and I truly treasured them, even the pictures of my cute second cat,
which I regret not posting or even saving on a flash drive.
like most of my other stuff, that I don’t want to believe I might never see again.
I want my stuff back, and I can’t stand that they aren’t back.
I want to try to believe that by some miracle they will return.
and who ever came up with that stupid update from the start,
should at least not make it so that they don’t make it seem not very trust worthy, and it could be misinterpreted, I still regret pressing that stupid update again.
I hate the humans that didn’t try to keep that stupid update from coming out,
if that never happen I wouldn’t of let such mistakes happen trying to get my stuff back....like the new drawings, the stuff I wrote and saved on the computer, even the pictures, like one of them being of my second cat.
it would mean the world to me that everything returned how it was before.
but no matter how much I keep wishing for it, it doesn’t seem it will happen right away....and I don’t want to believe it will not happen at all.
that dark thought of it, I want to try to detract my mind from.
about a hour or so ago, I was watching the crossover
that has to do with Shadow and Rouge  ending up in Equestria Girls
and Shadow ending up becoming boyfriend and girlfriend with Rainbow Dash,
it is still interesting, and if I had to do a ship that has to do with that crossover.
I would ship Sunset Shimmer with Scourge, as much as I like Fiona and can understand why she went with Scourge, because of how her so called former team of freedom fighters were, and still believe she could never change.
but Fiona and Scourge’s relationship in canon, could be seen as toxic,
even if there could be some form of attraction between the two, they might not truly be together because they are in love with each other, and their feelings might be only attraction of going for someone that was their type of “hot”
in a fanon crossover, Scourge and Sunset might end up in a non-toxic relationship and show a more positive relationship.
Sunset getting through to Scourge, and making him open up a bit more about his feelings, and how he became who he is in the first place.
I’m not sure if Sunset will ever appear in that crossover of Shadow Meets Equestria Girls.
 even if some villains do deserve what came to them.
I don’t believe that Bradford Buzzard, Cozy Glow, Tirek, Chrysalis,
Hekapoo, Omnitraxus Prime, Rhombulus or even Chara from Undertale,
deserve to be made scapegoats.
Bradford still had some good in him, and if he became a Monster,
it was because of how people kept misinterpreting and hurting him emotionally.
because of his childhood, it is possible he suffers from PTS.
even if Hekapoo, Omnitraxus and Rhombulus had some form of Anti-Monster feelings, there could of been a story behind it, and they could of all changed their minds about it, not just Hekapoo who turned out was seeing a monster, by the name of Quirky, who ended up being killed all thanks to Moon.
because of Moon’s actions and using Rhombulus, Star and Rhombulus’s friendship was broken, and if Star had figured out it wasn’t Rhombuls who was the mastermind but her own mother, maybe she could of kept her Mother from crossing the line of misusing the magic, and keep magic from being the scapegoat.
some fans can clearly see that what Discord did was wrong, even if he was reformed by the kindness and love of Fluttershy, without the misuse of the elements of harmony.
he still ended up having his plans backfire on him, but at the same time he ended up having those three has his scapegoat.
Chara is only truly seen in the Genocide Route of Undertale,
but they never truly say that the Player or Frisk, has to kill any monster in the underground.
that is the players misinterpretation.
Chara is Not Evil in the canon, that is what I and other fans have come to realize and believe, and I am sticking to that belief.
in the Fanon, yeah I will believe that some versions of Chara are evil in some timelines and AU. but in the canon, no they are not.
we know that Kris (in fanon it could be short for Kristopher or Kristine.)
is suppose to be mix of Frisk and Chara.
from what fans can see of Kris’s room, or their shared room with their older brother....it is possible that Kris has some form of neglect, and doesn’t fix up their room to be as great looking as their brother’s side of the room.
plus Kris might have some form of lack of confidence
because of how much everyone praises Asriel, and hardly do so with them.
 perhaps when Asriel does appear in Deltarune, maybe in Chapter 2.
we can learn more about what their brother/sibling relationship is like.
I am gonna hope that my theory about Asriel being a mean big brother and him using to beat up on Kris, and that is one of the reasons they hid under Noelle’s bed, like Kris hiding under that bed could of been to hide from Asriel.
but when their parents separated, Asriel could of changed and started to be a better big brother to Kris, but even if Kris did start to feel more safe and love Asriel, the hurt feelings could still be deep down in Kris’s heart.
like their feelings for Asriel, could still be sibling love, but could also be hate
because of how they were treated, and how Asriel would seem to get special treatment by everyone.
at least Kris has Susie, and possibly Noelle, and even Lancer and Ralsei.
and maybe even Sans’s little brother, not sure it will be Papyrus.
but we will have to wait to see who Sans’s little brother in Deltarune is.
I am gonna try to hope that some of the theories of Kris are non-canon.
but we will have to wait and see what happens in the next chapter of Deltarune.
I’m gonna try not to think too much about what happen this month....
I want to try to keep hoping and wishing everything returns back on how it was before, that some form of timeline change will happen that has to do with this year’s March.
yeah some of the stuff before and after that hurtful incident, can still be around.
all but the mistake of how to fix that problem that happen....
I want to try not to let it get to me too much, or the stuff that is happening with Pepe, Speedy and or if possible Johnny Bravo if he really truly will be next.
and if I have to make another thing clear,
it is this, I hate Toxic-Feminism, it is good to try to fight for rights for gals,
but I just don’t like the toxic side of it.
I know it is possible that one of the reasons for my semi-misanthrope,
also has to do with some jerks who thought what they were doing was for laughs and fun, and couldn’t see how much it was hurting me.
there can be different reasons for different people, to form a semi-misanthrope or full misanthrope and maybe only like the company of animals.
I know I love my cat, and if Slenderman ever tried to hurt my baby....
well if he were real that is, I would show him the real meaning of heck.
I can be protective...plus I think it is best for me to try to do some relaxing me time to try to get the mad or sad out, like either watch a movie or read, play video games or maybe try to lay down in bed and try to relax that way too.
after I do post this up, I’m going to just go back to playing video games.
and try not to think about the stuff that makes me not happy.
one of them being what happen some days ago this month,
that I still wish that timeline will hurry up and change and give me my missing stuff back.
as well as what some humans are doing that is added to my list....
I just need to try to look forward to upcoming fan series of Zim,
like Irken Outcast next episode, though I haven’t seen anything new yet, but things things take time.
and I’m waiting for the Invader Zim A Very Tall Problem.
I’m just guessing, but I think Purple and Gaz might form the friendship type ship.
not all ships are romantic, some are platonic type of love that of course will at times be like romantic but not like the type that will always have the kissing or other type of romance in it.
but I think Purple and Gaz’s future current relationship, might be the forming bond of friendship.
we can’t keep thinking that a ship will be the “romance” type that will have someone say “I ship it.”
if it is a ship that isn’t that, and those in it is like a family found, or buddies or sibling type love.
then it should be “I Fam It” or “I Bud It” or “I Sib It”
if it is just two or more guys who are just friends and aren’t in that romance type of ship.
it should be “I Bro It”, I just feel that the other side of ships need more love,
and one shouldn’t assume that the romance shipping is all there is.
which I think many know this already.
I might sign back on later, or maybe tomorrow or whenever I can.
I still don’t like Pepe or Speedy or even the possibility of Johnny Bravo,
being misinterpreted.
but if rebooting and revamping Pepe and Speedy saves them from the humans that wish to do them harm, because of how they are viewed, well it might be best to reboot/revamp them for their own safety.
Pepe going from his original type of flirting to a friendly flirt that takes a No,
but will still do a passive flirt from time to time, might be the best for his character if it keeps him from being misjudged.
I still think if Pepe had a alternate version of himself, who was given the name Peter and he was created by someone who made him be a flirty American skunk.
but his creation didn’t originate from America, the shoe might end up on the other foot. but it wouldn’t mean that everyone would agree that Peter or even Pepe were bad, just that they get misinterpreted as certain men and women in real life.
yes being a aggressive is bad, which to save Pepe, that will need to change to a friendly passive type flirt, so people will stop calling him the “R” word.
in other words the two types of it....
and like I said before, in one of the older cartoons, when the female ends up chasing Pepe, Pepe is the one who ends up scared and starts to run.
I can only try to hope that everything works out, I’m just gonna try to relax for the rest of the day.
also when you are waiting for a new episode or movie to finally come out,
it is best to be patient, and try to understand these things take time.
either if it’s canon or fan-canon.
at least I had favorite/hearted some stuff on here today on March 28, 2021.
or as it might be 3021.
I could count it being both, even if it might turn out that the true year is 3021.
I still see it as 2021 as well.
I still don’t like misunderstandings where it crosses the line,
I mean some misunderstandings can be okay, because it can be worked out.
but even if Pepe had a different origin, he could still end up being mistreated and viewed by those who believe him to be a monster.
the sooner Warner Bros reboot/revamp him and Speedy, the better.
I just really don’t like whats going on, and I’m going to hope everything gets better soon.
anyway it really doesn’t matter if Pepe was French or not,
I think he would be that way if he did end up being given a different backstory,
and if he was given a different backstory, and was made like how most people view people where I live at....
then some might still share that view but not many.
I want to believe that not everyone sees Pepe like that, and can see that just because he took the wrong way of flirting in his past, he can grow and go from a aggressive flirt to a friendly flirt.
plus ya can’t blame everything on Pepe, even before he was born/created,
and before cartoons and movies, there was sickos in the ancient times who had hurt women.
so yeah Pepe can’t truly be blamed for what happen before he was born/created.
like I said before, I’m gonna try to take my mind off the stuff that has started to bother me this month....and hope some of it will be fixed soon.
when I do update on here again, I might talk about my favorite ships.
like Professor Membrane x Utonium.
I think I am back on the fence with Dexter x Blossom.
yes re-reading the Powerpuff Girls D crossover comic series,
did make me start to love the ship again.
but who knows if that ship will last in the canon of the comic.
Blossom might just get her heart broken, Dexter clearly might have true feelings for the other girl.
also when it comes to the Grim Tales From Down Below Comic Series,
I can’t help but have the weird theory that Minimandy might really be Adult/Future-Bubbles’s daughter.
and Chi might be a fragment from Adult/Future-Blossom’s soul,
and Aku mixed some of his own essence onto the fragment, making Chi be born as the daughter of Aku, but still being technically Blossom’s daughter as well....
another theory I have is that Adult/Future-Buttercup is Chi’s Mother.
well not all fan theories have to be correct.
anyway I really should go now, I still want to play a little bit of video games.
and maybe do some reading later, but not before watching some shows or movies I like first.
I’m gonna try to hope things get back to how they were before that mess about a week ago....and try to make sure to keep my mind off of it, and not let it get to me too much like had been during the first days.
but it doesn’t mean I wont try to hope it will change....
I do not want to go through a third depression, so gonna try to look on bright side and hope that it NEVER comes to that.
so yeah, see ya later, stay safe, and if you do a Geno-Run in Undertale,
don’t blame Chara, and remember reality is illusion, Gaster implants the ideas of the games inside the mind of it’s human creator, Steven Quartz Universe’s name spells out “Sans” if you take out the “S” from Steven, the “A” from Quartz, and the “N” and “S” from Universe.
Underswap Sans, Gir from Invader Zim and Sonata Dusk from MLPFim/Equestria Girls, are the Taco Buddy Squad.
cause you know, all three of them apparently love tacos.
of course there are different versions of the original tacos.
but would be a dream come true, would be the taco pizza...
where you have pizza, but then you put some taco seasoning in it.
it wouldn’t really be a taco, but homemade pizza that is made like that is the best....well I think it is, but not everyone has to agree with me on that.
Bill Cipher Could Be Starco Child, made from their love and from the leftover magic......or not.
I’m weird and that could be non-canon.
but seriously do not misunderstand my talk about Pepe or any other character, like in my last post before this one.
I am just trying to say that no matter what Pepe’s origin,
he could still be that way but can grow as a character later on and go from the aggressive flirt to a friendly flirt that learns to take a no before his actions cause a misunderstanding.
also I can’t help but view Rarity from MLPFIM,
being part of the Pie family, like her real name being Rhinestone Pie
and her nickname is just “Rarity” and her “Mom” isnt her real mom
and her real mother being Pinkie, Limestone, Maud and Marble’s Mother. (Cloudy Quartz Pie’s Mother could of been a Unicorn.)
Sweetie Belle could still be biologically Rhinestone “Rarity” Pie’s sister.
but her real name could be rock or gem based.
Bon-Bon’s real name was Sweetie Drops.
so Sweetie Belle and Rarity really being part of the Pie Family,
is my theory and fan head-canon, but it is fine that not many agree about it.
 Crystal Pie could be seen as a possible birth name of Sweetie Belle.
I mean if that theory were true, but not all theories have to be true.
anyway I’m just gonna go now, I can talk more about the theory about Rarity and her sister truly being part of the Pie Family another time.
so yeah, once again see ya later and hope that no one misunderstood what I was trying to point out about Pepe, and I hope both he, Speedy and even Johnny Bravo if he ends up next....
get saved and if rebooting/revamping them keeps them from being misunderstood, then I really hope it helps.
THE DARE
A Guns and Roses Fan Fiction
Chapter 4: The Hell House
Tumblr media
Chapter 4
The morning sun shined through the dark red curtains causing pink light to fill Beth’s room. Unlike most 18 year old’s rooms at the time, there wasn’t a single poster hanging on her baby pink walls. Instead a small cross hung a over her bed, and polaroids of her, Delilah, Mark, and Matt were taped to the back of her closet door out of direct sight. It was Beth’s small action of defiance against her parents.
She had heard a loud truck outside her house early at about 4 in the morning. Beth couldn’t sleep knowing Delilah was out on the strip alone. She tossed and turned all night thinking about how stupid Delilah was to abandon her and stay in line for the bar.
At 4 in the morning she heard someone help Delilah climb through the window. It was a girl’s voice who was probably no older than her that helped her climb through the window.
Beth stayed frozen in bed pretending to sleep as the two girls struggled to open the simple latch. Beth assumes that they must have been drunk, and she was right. They could figure it out by themselves.
“Good morning,” Beth said earning a groan from Delilah who dug her dead deeper into her pillow.
“Come on sleeping beauty time to get up and into the shower. You smell like you haven’t showered in a week!” Delilah groaned at Beth’s comment and pulled the comforter over her head in attempt to hide herself from her problems aka Beth.
Beth let out a loud groan as she pulled Delilah out of her bed and onto the floor. Delilah felt as if her head was going to explode while she let out another groan. She tried to crawl back to the bed, but Beth dragged her by her arm into the bathroom. Beth was panting by the time she finished. She looked at Delilah who had surrendered and was now getting into the shower welcoming the warm water on her sweaty skin.
Beth wondered if Delilah was hung over from however much she drank last night because she was acting like it. Beth prayed that she wasn’t, not wanting to deal with the puking that was soon to come.
Beth wanted to ask Delilah thousands of questions, but she knew she would get nowhere with Delilah’s current state.
Delilah stood with her face directly under the warm shower water. She could feel the mascara, foundation, and the rest of her makeup washing down her face, but she didn’t care. Memories of last night filled her head she and she couldn’t help but smile as at them. She could still feel Duff’s hands and lips on her as they made out. She wanted more.
“Good morning sunshine,” Delilah walked out of the bathroom to hear Beth’s chipper tone.
“Morning!” Delilah replied. Yeah she was mad at Beth, but this wasn’t worth a fight. The only thing coming out of this is more people finding out about last night which is the last thing she wanted.
“Sorry for leaving you last night,” the words flew out of Beth’s mouth.
Delilah froze in place as she heard Beth’s half hearted apology. Was she seriously apologizing? Beth wimped out and left Delilah out to dry alone on the strip. That wasn’t the first time that Beth wimped our, and Delilah knew it wouldn’t be the last.
She had two options. The first option, the one she favored, was to tell Beth off. To scream at her for abandoning her. To say how she always does crap like this. She always wimps out. The second, the one she ended up doing, was to shrug and accept her apology. Delilah didn’t have many friends, and if she lost Beth she was worried she would loose Matt and Mark too.
Beth hopped into the shower annoyed at not receiving an apology from Delilah as well while Delilah went over towards the polaroids that she hid under the bed. She looked through them with a smile crossing her face. The first bunch were of her and Mags dancing during the show, and the rest well...she didn’t remember taking them.
She looked at the one of her and Duff when she tried to escape with the vodka. They were both laughing in the picture. Unknowing to Delilah a huge smile grew on her face, but quickly disappeared when she heard the shower turn off.
Delilah dug through the photos and found one of her and Mags standing by the bar smiling. She couldn’t remember who took the photo or when it was taken, but it was exactly what she needed.
Delilah bolted across the room and threw the rest of her pictures in her bag along with the ‘clothing’ she wore last night.
Delilah threw on one of her lilac dresses that went well below her knees and a pair of black dress shoes.
“I see you are ready to go too!” Beth cheered as she went to grab her purse.
“Hey, you should give this to them and claim you took it. Today is my day off from church duties, so I won’t be stopping by today,” Delilah said handing Beth the picture and grabbing her backpack.
Delilah not hanging out with her on her day off struck Beth as odd. Beth was tasked with helping to cook supper which mean she and Delilah would work together to make time fly by faster while listening to some movie in the background.
“Who is this?”
“A girl who saved me from getting hit on by some guys at the bar. She actually knew someone in the band so we hung out back stage away from the creeps. She is really sweet and actually a good friend,” Delilah opened the door and headed downstairs to leave Beth’s house.
Beth stood frozen in her room. What did she mean by actually a good friend? Delilah was the one who wouldn’t leave when she wanted to go home! Beth wanted to scream at Delilah for the way she insinuated that a random slut that she met at a bar was a better friend than her best friend that she had known her whole life.
————-
Delilah sorted through the photos that were taken that night. There were plenty of her and Mags, a few of the whole group talking, but her favorites were of her and Duff. She could still feel his lips on hers. She sighed as she looked at all the remaining photos. Where was she going to put these. There were like 20 of them, where could she hide them without them easily being found? That’s when it hit her. She had at least 6 bibles in her room, so she grabbed one of the ones she hadn’t touched in ages that was in the bottom of her desk drawer and put the pictures in there one by one.
That’s when she found a number on the back of one of the pictures of her and Mags. She bit her bottom lip as she stared at the number. No one was home, so no one could eavesdrop on her phone call. She took a deep breath as she dialed the phone number.
The phone rang a couple times, but before Delilah went to voicemail someone picked up the phone.
“Hey... it’s Del, I was wondering if I could talk to Mags?” Delilah’s voice was barely auditable and Mags could hear her shaken breath.
“Hey girl what’s up? I was getting worried you wouldn’t call!” Mags smiled once she head Del’s voice. She was relieved to find that her brother’s band hand scared Delilah off.
“You’re awesome, why wouldn’t I call?” Mags smiled as she heard Del’s compliment.
The two of them talked about how their morning was and Mag’s made sure to give Del a couple of pointers on how to easily get rid of a hangover. By now Mags was sitting on the kitchen counter in her apartment playing with the cord that attached her phone to the wall.
“Do you have any plans for today?” Mags was practically praying that she would say no.
“No, not really,” Mags jumped of the counter when she heard her response. She was originally going to help Beth cook all day, but she didn’t want to be anywhere near Beth right now. Mags smiled that her prayer was answered. Maybe Delilah was onto something with this whole praying and Jesus thing?
“Do you wanna go meet up and get something to eat?” The couple of seconds it took for Delilah to answer yes, felt like hours to Mags, but once she said yes Mags was practically jumping for joy.
“Do you want me to pick you up or”
“Oh no, just tell me where to meet you and I can meet you there,” Delilah immediately interrupted in an almost panic. It wasn’t that she couldn’t leave her house when she wanted during the day. It was more of a she would have to explain who Mags was and how she met her which were stories that Delilah didn’t want to share with her parents at the moment, if she was ever going to at all.
So they agreed and a few hours later Delilah locked her bike on a nearby bike rack and walked into the cafe.
Mags immediately spotted Delilah as she walked into the small cafe that they were going to meet in. It was hard to miss her with her brown curly hair flowing down below her shoulders and her flowery lilac dress that hung below her knees. Mags waved Delilah over and noticed the smile grow on her face. She wondered if Delilah was nervous about coming here.
“Hey!” Delilah’s chipper tone filled the table as the two of them quickly began to talk about everything and nothing at the same time. Anyone in the cafe would assume that they were old best friends who hadn’t seen each other and years. It was a bit refreshing for both of them.
“Do you have any plans after this or...”
“No I’m honestly free for the rest of the day. Today is my day off!” Delilah interrupted Mags as she spoke. She also didn’t want to go back home and deal with Beth.
“I gotta drop something off at my brother’s first and you down for some shopping? Unless you want to wear your favorite outfit again to another one of my brother’s gigs.”
“Sounds awesome and the sooner I burn that skirt the better,” Delilah responded earning some giggles from Mags. She wondered if it was weird that she was relieved that Delilah was never going to wear the outfit front the night prior. It’s not that it didn’t look good on her, it was a more of a worry of what people would expect her to be. It was the sad world they lived in where you get judged without even opening your mouth.
They walked the street and Delilah felt more self conscious than she had the night before.
After some time Mags turned towards Delilah who she was now holding hands with to notice her constantly looking left and right afraid to miss a thing.
“Here we are,” Mags pulled her through the doors and up a couple of flights of stairs.
The smell of booze and cheep perfume filled Delilah’s nose as she followed Mags into the small apartment. There appeared to be a couple of rooms, but it was small for having a bunch of guys living in it. Delilah awkwardly stood in the apartment off to the side waiting for Mags to be done with whatever she had to do with her brother. After a couple of minutes of Mags being gone, she decided to start cleaning the beer cans that were scattered across the room. After a couple of minutes of cleaning she heard, “you know you don’t have to do that?” She looked up to see the red head from the night before.
“Yeah, but I don’t mind. Anything is better than awkwardly standing here waiting for Mags to finished whatever she is doing,” Delilah innocently smiled back at the incredibly tired red head that stood in front of her. She truly didn’t mind, anything to help out Mags. He shrugged and Delilah went back to work cleaning up all the empty bottles and trash that filled the rooms. She wondered if they occupants’ apartment was always this filthy.
Axl returned to the main room and cleaned with the brunette. He didn’t need a damn maid, but it was too early in the afternoon to fight with her about it.
“Del is it?”
“Yeah, you’re apart of Steven’s band right? You’re the singer! You were amazing last night,” Delilah didn’t know why but once she opened her mouthing her nerves took over and she couldn’t stop talking. She wanted to cover her mouth with her hand.
“Thanks,” Delilah noticed the smirk that grew on his face and she could tell that he was watching her more than he was cleaning.
“I barely recognized you. You look very different from yesterday,”
Delilah froze at his comment and turned around to look at him, “of course I look different. I’m actually wearing clothing today”
She smiled when his joyful laugh filled the room, and she couldn’t help but laugh with him. He then leaned in and whispered, “but between you and me I liked the other outfit more.” Axl then stood up, left his barely filled bag of empty bottles by Delilah’s, and left the room leaving Delilah speechless with her mind racing in circles.
Across the apartment Mags sat in her brother’s room which was practically a closet, “So I dropped off this month’s rent in the tent due box. How are you guys on food? Do you need any new clothes?”
Mags had been supporting her brother and his band for the past couple months, but she wasn’t the only one. There were a couple of other girls that she would meet, but they preferred doing other things than talking with the guys. They were still nice to her, they just never talked that much.
“I think we are good, you know you don’t have to” before he could continue his sister immediately interrupted him, “I know, but growing up you were always there for me so now it’s my turn to be there for you. Plus I expect millions when you make it big.”
Mags left her brothers room and headed towards the kitchen to make them all some breakfast as a good job for their show last night.
“Delilah you know you don’t have to do that right?” Mags watched as Delilah finished cleaning up all of the beer bottles.
“Yeah, but I want to. You helped me last night, remember?” Mags smiled Delilah’s comment. She also used cleaning as a means to distract herself from what the singer said. Had she found possibly one of the few good hearted people on the strip?
“Fine, but I’m heading to the store to grab some bread. I have something cooking in the stove for breakfast can you make sure the guys don’t eat it before it’s fully cooked in like 5 minutes?” Delilah nodded her head as she waved goodbye to Mags and headed to the kitchen. There was trash everywhere. Delilah wondered how they lived in it.
“Hey, What smells so good,” Mags looked behind her to see a smiling Steven or popcorn as they called him.
“Hey Popcorn, and I think it’s some egg thing. I don’t know, but it will be done,” Delilah turned around to check the one clock that was in the kitchen, “it will be potentially done in 20 minutes.” He smiled at Delilah’s use of his nickname.
“Wanna beer? It will help get rid of the hangover,” it would actually going to cause more pain later, but he didn’t have the heart to tell Delilah that. She already looked like she was done with life.
He watched as Delilah hesitated on her answer, “if you’re worried about it being weird, people usually drink mamosas in the morning which also have alcohoul.” The rest of the band was also going to be drinking whenever they decided to wake, but he decided not to tell her that. He didn’t want Delilah to think poorly of him, she seem to get along great with his sister.
Delilah nodded and he handed her a beer. That was when he was finally able to get a good look at her. Her long purple dress was a huge change from the barely there outfit from the night prior. Her hair looked the same though. Curled and twisted in all different ways, kinda like the curly fries he would get as a kid.
“Morning!” Steven yelled across the room at Duff who only looked a little effected by the drinks the night prior.
“What smells so good? Did your sister bake us something again?” Delilah turned and smiled at the sound of Duff’s voice.
“Yeah it’s like a egg thing, does she usually make stuff like this?” Delilah’s voice caught Duff off guard as the brunette turned around, away from the stove.
Delilah looked over at Duff whose hair was sticking every which way, she tried to hide her laugh, but she couldn’t and Steven quickly joined her.
“Sorry,” Delilah tried hiding her giggle as she apologized to Duff, but it failed.
Duff opened his beer and sat at the table watching Delilah struggle to hide her laughter.
“Like I said last night, I will never fucking forgive you,” he teased back earning a smile from Delilah.
As if on cue, a small timer went off causing Delilah to jump. Her stomach begged for the breakfast dish that Mags made as the smell invaded her nose. The rest of the band must have smelled the egg dish as they quickly poured into the kitchen to smell it. Delilah wondered if Mags had purposely chosen a dish that would wake everyone up. It was smart. Hungover and tired musicians were probably not the best people to deal with in the afternoon.
“So is it done?” Delilah looked into Steven’s puppy dog eyes and nodded her head. She couldn’t find the words to tell him that they couldn’t start without Mags.
“If it’s some then why the fuck are you putting it back in the oven?” Saying Axl was hungry was an understatement. Of course he had small meals here and there, but Mags food always made him drool.
“I’m keeping it warm ya dingus. Mags went shopping to go get the rest of y’all’s lunch...err...breakfast,” Mags said lowering the oven temperature. She looked around the room to be met with confused expressions.
“Delilah what the fuck is a dingus?” Steven asked between his giggles. As if laughter was a disease, it spread through the room.
“An annoying person,” Delilah sheepishly replied staring at the oven pretending to be watching it. She was too embarrassed to look him in the eyes. What if Duff thought she was an idiot or a child?
“What the hell, are you five? Trying calling me an annoying piece of shit next time, that way I can take you seriously,” Axl laughed back. His laugh wasn’t the sweet one she heard earlier, this one was vicious and cruel.
“Hey, Axl you don’t gotta be a dick,” Steven replied before he noticed that Dilalah had left the room.
Was Delilah overreacting? Probably.
But here she was sitting in another room by herself sulking on the couch. She couldn’t walk back into that room after leaving it.
Who was she kidding, why did she even think coming here with Mags would be a good idea? She shouldn’t of ever called her. She already felt like an outsider and Axl wasn’t helping.
She heard some ruckus from the kitchen, but then just shrugged it off trusting Steven to keep the food in the oven and out of their stomach’s.
“You know she probably just came to the bar last night on a dare,” Axl said. Why? Not even Axl knew. The room went quiet again until Steven broke the silence, “I’m going to make sure she is ok.” He eyed Axl as he walked out of the room with Duff on his tail.
“Oh great, do they both want to fuck her or something? She a church girl, anyone with eyes can see it. She thinks she is better than us. We are probably some sort of putty project,” before Axl could continue ranting Slash told him to shut up and went to his room that he shared with Duff.
Steven’s heart sunk as he saw Delilah sitting on their sad excuse for a couch. He had lost track of how many girls they had all fucked on that couch and decided not to mention that to Delilah until another time.
“It’s a pretty day out. It’s always nice to see the calm before the storm. This place becomes barely recognizable during the day before the street comes to life,” Steven rambled.
Delilah flashed him a fake smile and went back to looking outside. He then tried a couple of quick jokes, but she simply faked a smile and went back to what she was doing. Steven didn’t know what else to do, and truth be told neither did Duff.
Duff walked over towards the bin that held their suspiciously acquired records. Curious to see what he was looking for, Delilah watched him. She eventually went back to her staring out the window until she heard Duff’s voice.
“Last night you said you didn’t know a lot about Rock and Roll, so I thought I might as well show you what your missing,” Duff said joining her on the small couch.
Hesitantly Delilah turned around to face him. If it had been anyone else, she probably would had asked them to show her later, but it was Duff. Even though Delilah didn’t fully know it, she had a crush on the bassist.
“So you have your God, and rock and roll has ours,” Duff showered her the album cover waiting for her reaction. She said nothing, but she didn’t look mad, so he continued.
He rambled on for a couple minutes about how great Bowie was. Telling about which songs he liked more and other miscalaneous compliments.
“Do you have a record from that band everyone was talking about last night?” She wanted so bad to understand and listen to the music everyone was talking about. She didn’t want to be a social outcast. She wanted a place to belong.
“No, just like us they don’t have a record out, but they are playing tonight if you want to go see them,” Duff offered.
“Really?” Delilah was shocked at his offer.
“Well I made you a promise, didn’t I?” Then Duff flashed Delilah a smile that made her heart melt. Was she over analyzing this situation? Yes.
“Yeah!” Delilah quickly relied.
“Sweet, there are a bunch of us going tonight. The more the merrier.”
Delilah heart sunk. It wasn’t a date.
“Hey, why aren’t you watching the food?” Mags was a bit peeved that Delilah would completely ignore the fact that she had to watch the food. They didn’t have enough eggs to remake the dish.
Once she got a better look at Delilah’s face, her annoyance disappeared. What the hell did they do to Del?
“The food is fine. I have the oven keeping it slightly warm. I’m in here because Axl was..” Delilah paused sharing a look with Duff.
“Go ahead and say it. I call him that all the time,” Mags raised an eyebrow trying to decider what Duff was talking about.
“Axl was being a piece of shit,” Mags chucked as she saw Delilah proud to let the words come out of her mouth.
“Lunch will be ready in 5 minutes,” Mags yelled through the small apartment as she walked into the kitchen with her grocery bags.
“I’ve never seen someone so proud to call another person a piece of shit,”
“Well Duff you have never met someone like me,” Delilah looked up from the David Bowie record that he had handed her, rather proud.
“Hey popcorn, what’s your favorite record in here,” Delilah asked pointing at the box of records.
“Can’t choose, but for at this very second...” for a couple of seconds he stopped talking until he landed upon the record he was looking for and handed it to Delilah.
She looked at the band and quickly turned over the album to see the names of the songs.
“Thoughts?”
“That guy looks cooler with the lightening bolt on his face,” Delilah picked up David Bowie’s album and pointed to his makeup earning a chuckle.
That’s when it clicked, something that should have clicked a while ago when he mentioned the promise. If he remembered the promise then he probably remembered their make out session.
“Earth to Del, are you OK?”
“Yeah, of course why wouldn’t I be?” Delilah answered in a matter of fact tone. It wasn’t a lie, but it also wasn’t the truth.
“Food is ready!” When Delilah heard Mag’s voice she stood up, grabbed Duff’s beer, and headed towards the kitchen. She took a swig, and forced herself to swallow the nasty drink.
0.1: The Beginning
Tumblr media
Henley's P.O.V
It's another day in this hell hole. I'll be completely honest, I deeply miss Los Angeles. I lived there for three years until my parents decided to uproot our lives entirely and move here to Seattle. I'm not happy with this at all. I miss my best friend, Athena Bass. I was incredibly close with her and her brother Thomas Bass. Or as the world knows him, Tommy Lee.
I met Tommy first. He was sitting on his porch, playing a guitar as loudly as he could. It's like he wanted to show off to everyone that he had a guitar. He wasn't that good, but he was practicing. He looked up as I slammed the car door. My parents had promised me and my little brother Nico that we wouldn't move anymore. Little did we know then, that was a lie. Anyways, Tommy walked over to me as I grabbed some boxes from the back of the minivan. I remember being shocked with how tall he was. I nearly had to look all the way up to see his eyes. He had this adorable smile that was contagious.
"Need any help?" He asked, a grin on his face.
I was in a very bad mood, so I ended up snapping at him. "I'm perfectly fine, now fuck off."
Luckily, my parents and Nico were inside, so I wouldn't get scolded for using that language. I was only thirteen then. The friendship grew after that. We hung out everyday, then when I went to school, I met Athena who's my age.
It would be lie if I said I didn't have a crush on Tommy. He was two years older than me, and a very affectionate best friend. Me being young and naïve, thought he was flirting with me. I never confessed my feelings and before I knew it, him and his band, Motley Crue, were off on tour. I gave up on the dream that Tommy would ever look at me the way I did at him. He calls every day, even when he's super busy. He keeps asking if I could come out and visit him, but I doubt my parents would allow me to do that. I asked, and they shot down the idea immediately. They never liked Tommy, but they loved Athena. I was thinking I could try to convince them to let me go visit her, then we could go see Tommy in his new apartment. The lucky bastard.
I've been in Seattle for only four months. In those four months, as Nico would say, I had lost my goddamn mind. I'm constantly sneaking out late at night when I know my parents are asleep. I've mastered the ways of sneaking out of my bedroom window and shimmying down the drainpipe. I usually get one of my new best friends, Madeline Love, and we go to one of the dingy bars that we can find.
She's probably the coolest person I know, other than Tommy and Athena. She's the only one that knows where I go every night. There's two other people in our small friend group; Jake Love, Madeline's brother, and Evangeline, or Eva for short. Jake is a real sweetheart. He's the first guy I talked to when I arrived in Seattle. Well, he approached me. He said I looked lonely, which I was.
Eva is sweet too, just very dramatic at times. This one time, I accidentally slapped her arm and she acted like I punched her in the nose. She was mad at me for two days straight. The whole situation gave me a huge headache. We all laugh about it now. The more she got comfortable with me, the more she calmed down with the dramatics.
"Henley!" Eva nearly yells, causing a few nosy teenagers to look in our direction.
I glare at them before turning to Eva. "Yeah?"
"You should come over tonight! Mads and I were talking about having a sleepover at her place, and you know it's not the same without you!"
I smile at her. That sounds fun, but Madeline and I already had plans. I look around the crowded lunchroom. Three and half more hours and I can finally go get ready for our big night on the town. I'm fucking excited. "Sorry, I can't tonight. What about tomorrow?"
"That works too! We could go shopping and all that." Eva takes a sip of whatever organic drink she bought overly priced. She's into that hipster shit where she only eats and drinks 'organic' things. I think it's just a waste of money, but whatever.
Madeline smiles, pushing her light brown hair behind her ear. "Actually tomorrow works better anyway."
Eva's smile doesn't falter. Madeline and I know that if she knew we were hanging out together without her, she'd have a hissy fit. Eva just isn't cut out for what we do. I love the girl, but if any of our parents were suspicious about what we were doing, she'd crack under pressure and tell them immediately. Then we'd all be fucked. My parents would never let me out of the house again.
"Okay so we'll all meet up at your place tomorrow at like five?"
"That works," Madeline responds, looking as Jake finally sat down.
His sandy hair is falling in his face, making him look like he just rolled out of bed.
"Why're you so late?" I ask.
His face turns red as he looks down at the food he won't eat. "I-uh-fell asleep in class and no one woke me up. I was almost locked in the classroom."
I laugh, shaking my head. "The classrooms lock from the inside. All you had to do was open the door."
Jake's eyes widen. "So you're telling me I didn't have to climb out the window?"
I shake my head. "I wish I could've seen it though."
Madeline busts out laughing. "You're an idiot, Jacob."
"Shut up, Madeline," Jake sighs, his face turning even more red.
"Aw, poor Jakey is embarrassed in front of Henley," Madeline teases.
I giggle, brushing off her remark. She always teases poor Jake for having a crush on me. I don't think he does, but she's hell bent on believing he does.
"Madeline, I will break all your records when we get home if you don't stop," Jake warns.
"Don't take it out on the music," I say, crossing my arms. "They're just beautiful masterpieces. Take your anger out on something else."
"Like what?"
"I dunno," I respond. "Anything but the music."
"You really love music, don't you?"
I nod. "It's just about the only thing that brings me peace since I left Los Angeles."
"I noticed you have a lot of Motley Crue albums," Eva says. "What's that all about."
I know that I can't tell them that I know Tommy personally. Either they won't believe me, or they'll bug me until I let them meet him and the band. I can't let that happen. I'm not going to let Tommy be bothered all the time all because I let it slip. They only just started touring with Ozzy Osbourne, but they've gained a shit ton of popularity in only the few weeks they've been on tour with him.
"They're just my favorite band. Always have been. I used to watch their shows at the Whiskey before they took off," I explain.
"They allowed you into the Whiskey?" Eva asks.
"I wouldn't say allowed. I'd sneak in through the back door. I was friends with the bar tender so she let me stay." I take a sip of my tea. "Besides, they didn't care as long as I didn't drink."
Eva opens her mouth to ask another question, but the bell rings. I silently thank whoever is above. I didn't feel like getting grilled with more questions.
Me sneaking into the Whiskey is true. But after a while, Tommy just started bringing me into their dressing room so that I wouldn't have to go through all that trouble. It was a lot of fun when I could convince Athena to come along. She tried to act like she wasn't having fun, but I knew better. I miss those days.
As I settle in my seat in the AP English classroom, I start to think about tonight. I just have the feeling it's going to be different than usual. That something is going to happen. Whether it's good or bad, I have no clue. Only time will tell.
                                       The Crawford Bunch.
John David Crawford II | 67 | Vietnam Veteran | Retired Mechanic from Gorman’s Auto Shop | FC: Pierce Brosnan
John David Crawford II was born in 1952 in Beaumont, Tennessee to a farmer (John David Crawford) and his wife (Sally Crawford). He was the middle child of twelve kids, one for each of Jesus’ disciples. They lived mostly in poverty, their only income coming from the milk and meat that their father sold to the local convenience store. At eighteen, John David II had been drafted into the military and shipped off to Vietnam. When he returned at 22, he met the love of his life, Suzannah Crawford. They married after only knowing each other for about four months, and not long after they had their first child, John David III. He raised his kids with discipline and tough love, so that they would know that the world isn’t going to feed you on a silver platter. Not that he had much money to spoil his children with anyways. Though he still suffers from PTSD, you can often find him sitting around the living room with all his grandkids surrounding him, the youngest on his lap, and telling the stories from when he was abroad.
Suzannah Crawford | 63 | Server at the Junkyard Diner | FC: Madeleine Stowe
Suzannah Duff was born in 1956 in Beaumont, Tennessee to a mechanic (Bobby Ray Duff) and a school teacher (Margo Duff). She was the oldest of three. When she was fourteen years old, her father passed away in a car accident and the Duffs were left with little money to support the family. Suzannah dropped out of school and got a job by lying about her age in order to help support her mother. When she was eighteen, she met a boy who had just come back from the war, John David II, and fell in love. They were married and pregnant within months of meeting. Suzannah has worked her whole life as a server at the Junkyard Diner and plans to work there for a few more years before retiring. She has always been a kind and nurturing mother, but made sure to emphasize the importance of religion and believing in Jesus to her kids.
John David Crawford III | 44 | Police Lieutenant at Beaumont Sheriff Department | FC: Bradley Cooper
John David Crawford III was born in 1975 in Beaumont, Tennessee. He was the first child of John David II and Suzannah and therefore had been the most spoiled (until his other siblings arrived). Because he was the oldest, his father had always been a little tougher on him. He was to be straight edged, responsible, and act as a third parent if there wasn’t another one around. His high school grades were mediocre, and though he could have attended college, he chose instead to join the police department in Beaumont. At twenty-one, he met his now-wife Anna-Lee at a gala thrown by the police department. She was one of the sisters of the policemen, and John David II had to endure a lot of flack for asking her out. They have now been married for twenty-one years and have three kids: John David IIII (18), Willie Ray (15) and Carolina (11).
Mason Crawford | 40 |  Mechanic at Gorman’s Auto Shop | FC: Ian Somerhalder
Mason Crawford was born in 1979 in Beaumont, Tennessee. From a young age, Mason had been a reckless kid. He looked up to his older brother, John David III, but also knew he could get away with much more than his brother could, and so he did, much to his mother’s dismay. When he was fifteen, he dropped out of high school to run away with the love of his life, but returned a short nine months later when they broke up. Despite his mother’s pleas to return to school, Mason got a job at Gorman’s auto shop and has been working there ever since. When he was 24, he met a girl from Nashville who had happened to stop by The Catfish to get a drink while he was drinking with his buddies. With the help of liquid courage, Mason asked to buy her a drink, which led to two drinks, which led to a first date. Him and Magnolia have been married for fourteen years now and have four kids together: Presley Ann (13), Virginia (10), Willow (9), and Noah (5).
Josephine Nicks | 39 | Pediatric Nurse Practitioner | FC: Zooey Deschanel
Josephine Crawford, better known as Jo, was born in 1980 in Beaumont, Tennessee. When she was born she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. The midwife warned John David II and Suzannah that she may not make it through the night, and if she did, she may have severe brain defects for the rest of her life due to a lack of oxygen. But Jo made it through the night, and showed no signs of mental defects as she grew up. She was a tomboy through and through thanks to having two older brothers to look up to. Jo was the first of the Crawfords to go to college, where she attended the University of Memphis and got a degree in nursing. While she was attending school, she met a med student named Wilson Nicks, one of the only black men in his class of medical students, and fell in love, despite the controversy they faced being an interracial couple in the south in the early 2000s. After graduating, they married and have been married now for sixteen years. Together they opened a family practice in Nashville. They have five kids: Layla (13), Jackson & Eloise (Twins, 11), Rhett (7), and Graham (2).
Georgina Abel | 35 | 3rd Grade Teacher at Beaumont Elementary | FC: Alexandra Daddario
Georgina Crawford was born in 1984 in Beaumont, Tennessee. Right from the start you could see a maternal streak in Georgie. Unlike her sister, she didn’t like rough-housing with her older brothers. Instead, she played by herself, mostly with her dolls as she set up fake homes and classrooms to teach them, cook for them, and take care of them. It was no surprise to her parents when she graduated high school and decided to earn her degree in english and teaching. After graduating from Tennessee State University, Georgina got a job in her hometown at Beaumont elementary teaching third graders. She spent a few years focused on that, and very much single (she had been in a somewhat serious relationship in high school to Roscoe Reeves, which had ended up leaving her heartbroken for a long while) to her mother’s dismay. At twenty-six, she met Earl Abel while out in Nashville with friends for a weekend. After a year of dating, they got married. They have now been married for eight years and have three kids: Harrison (7), Keaton (4), and Peyton (1). Georgina would still like to have one more girl.
Hayes Crawford | 32 | Manager at a Michelin Star Restaurant in Nashville | FC: Henry Cavill
Hayes Crawford was born in 1987 in Beaumont, Tennessee. For four years he was the youngest in the family and was absolutely babied to death. Georgina liked to take care of him the most because she had always wanted a younger sibling, but by the time he was talking and running around at two, he loved to play with his older brothers, which almost always resulted in him getting hurt. Hayes had been the athletic one of the bunch and his parents had signed up him for any sports he wanted to play. It turned out he had a real knack for football and played all throughout high school. His senior year during their championship game, Hayes had been injured so badly he was hospitalized for seven months. The doctor had warned him he would never step foot on a football field again. The road to recovery had been a long one, and Hayes had waited a year before going to college at the University of Tennessee where he majored in business and hospitality. He now lives in Nashville with his wife of five years, Carol Ann. They have one daughter, Cecelia (1), and another child on the way.
Tommy Lee Crawford | 28 | Radio Host at Beaumont Radio | FC: Matthew Daddario
Perla Hudson Interview: Slash, Dinosaurs and Helping the Youth of L.A.
By: Rick Landers
We thought we’d click back to one of our favorite articles, one we had with Slash’s wife, Perla Hudson. So, here you go and enjoy the ride!
***
Perla Hudson, the wife of Velvet Revolver’s legendary guitar player, Slash, has navigated the depths and ridden the crests of the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle for a decade. And no one would be surprised if she simply wrapped herself in that self-indulgent lifestyle that we hear about that beckons and, sometimes, overcomes the rich and famous. But, we spoke to Perla, and she let us know that she and her husband had more important things to take care of and nurture.
As much as she enjoys the raucous highlights of the rock ‘n’ roll fantasy, Perla has invested time and effort into being a mother to her two growing boys, keeping the home fires burning with her husband, and helping the disenfranchised youth of Los Angeles. She has supported the work of L.A.’s Department of Children’s Services. She’s also served on the Board of Directors, and more recently on the Advisory Committee, of the L.A. Youth Network (LAYN). And when she talks about it, she’s not only committed, she’s passionate.
And now, both she and Slash are offering up a treasure trove of their possessions to help fund LAYN programs to benefit children who are homeless and need the kindness and guidance of caring adults. Their Slash and Rock Legends Auction will be held by the famous Julien’s auction house beginning March 26, 2011, and will feature some of the hippest and coolest prized possessions owned by the Hudsons.
On this list is some Slash signature gear, like a stage-worn Chrome Hearts leather top hat; his GNR silver cuff, a one-of-a kind custom Stravinski Fender Stratocaster, his B.C. Rich Red Mockingbird axe, pieces from his prized dinosaur collection and the coup de grace, Slash’s beloved 1966 big block Corvette coupe.
The Slash and Rock Legends auction should rake in some serious cash, all for a good cause. We at Guitar International tip our black leather top hats to Slash and Perla, for reflecting not only the best in rock ‘n’ roll, but the best in all of us.
Rick Landers: Hey, I just found out that you’re Cuban. Do you dance salsa?
Perla Hudson: Of course I do! I’m cooking Cuban food for dinner tonight, too.
Rick: Are you really? Good for you. I guess Cuba should be opened up fairly soon, right? Do you think you’ll ever go down there?
Perla Hudson: I’ve been. We want to take the kids, but just finding the right time and you know how that all goes. Hopefully we’ll be there soon.
Rick: A lot of people think rock stars are always self-indulgent, even rock couples, I suppose, but I saw that in the auction that’s coming up this month you have a passion for the L.A. Youth Network.
Perla Hudson: Absolutely.
Rick: I was wondering how you ended up choosing that particular charity?
Perla Hudson: Well, I’ve been on the Board of Directors for LAYN for about three years. I only, in the past couple of months, stepped down because there’s a lot of decision making when you’re on the Board of Directors and it was very time-consuming for me. I’m still on the Advisory Committee and on the Fundraising Committee for them, which is where this comes in.
We did a lot of charity work with the Department of Children’s Services. Every Christmas we would fulfill their wish lists. One year we rolled up on the Gibson tour bus and gave everybody Gibson guitars. Another year we actually gave the kids what they were hoping for. These are Children’s Services children. The woman from DCS told me about LAYN, which is a homeless shelter for children. It serves with emergency housing, temporary and permanent housing for kids in the L.A. area. So, we started focusing our efforts on LAYN.
It’s really important because a lot of people ask Slash to donate a top hat, donate a guitar, donate this, donate that, and he’s been extremely generous and giving, but you don’t necessarily always see where all that stuff is going to. With LAYN we see it. I’ve been there for kids’ birthdays. Slash has been to their talent shows. We’ve sponsored the kids to go to prom. It’s pretty amazing.
These are kids that have been living on the streets, have been kicked out of their homes because either they’re gay or lesbian or abused. Kids that got a birthday cake for the first time when they were 13 and didn’t know what to do with the candles. So, I think the work they do is amazing and the W.O.O.W. [We’re On Our Way] program is basically what your parents did for you.
When you were going through college, they paid for your housing, paid for your food, and that’s what the W.O.O.W. program does with these kids that are out of high school, up to the age of 22, even 25. There’s still a kid that age in school. It’s a great organization. It’s a home. We’re very hands-on with them, and as a matter of fact, they’re honoring us in June at their gala for a lot of the work that we’ve done for them.
Rick: What surprises me is that most missing children weren’t reported missing by their parents. That’s kind of heartbreaking.
Perla Hudson: Isn’t that horrible?
Rick: I can’t believe it. Looking at the auction, there are some pretty cool items that are obviously cool, whether they’re associated with Slash or not. One in particular caught my eye and probably caught a lot of people’s, and that’s that ’66 big block Corvette.
Perla Hudson: Oh, yeah. That was a really hard one for him to part with. [Both laughing] We’re all about minimizing now and he’s a bit of a pack rat. There was a time when I first met Slash he had like 10 cars. That was one of them, one of his big purchases when he first made a lot of money with Guns N’ Roses. He bought that car and recently he got an Aston Martin. There are only so many cars one can drive. We have kids now. We’ve got the SUV, so we’re parting with it. That one’s even harder for me.
Rick: Was that a driver or did you just keep it in the garage and keep it pristine?
Perla Hudson: Oh, no. We drove it. He didn’t drive it every day, but he did drive it on a regular basis.
Rick: Is it a coupe?
Perla Hudson: Yes, it is.
Rick: Oh, nice. I had a ’65 convertible, so I know they’re great cars.
Perla Hudson: Right. He had the whole thing, this was way back in the day when he bought it, I guess the late ’80s, had the whole stereo system tricked out to where the panel where you press the buttons for the stereo that was on the visor. After that I believe he put everything back to its original condition. But, it still has a pretty kickin’ stereo system in there, too. [Both laughing]
Rick: How tough was it then to give up some of those other auction items?
Perla Hudson: It was pretty tough. Getting him to go through his list of guitars was really difficult for him, and in a way I don’t blame him. The ones that he did part with, it was a lot for him. But, he has over 150 guitars, as it stands, so he’s getting rid of, I think it was 13 or 14.
Rick: If you had an opportunity, or maybe it would be a better question to ask him, to buy one of those auction items, which one do you think you or he would grab?
Perla Hudson: Well, I think that there’s a painting in there that we didn’t mean to put in there that we might have to buy back. [Both laughing]
Rick: What is it?
Perla Hudson: It’s the Ain’t Life Grand album cover artwork. It wasn’t supposed to go and if Slash hears this interview, he’ll kill me, because it went on accident; one of those things that got put into the wrong pile.
Rick: Oh, it happens.
Perla Hudson: Once they’re up for auction, we’ve got to buy them back.
Rick: It’ll go to a good cause, right?
Perla Hudson: Absolutely.
Rick: I was wondering how Slash ended up with the dinosaur collection that’s to be auctioned?
Perla Hudson: He’s been enamored of dinosaurs ever since he was a child and he’s a big collector, as you can see, with guitars and dinosaurs, cars. There are a few things that he’s interested in, but when he does get interested in something, he takes it to the next degree.
The dinosaurs…he’s probably just as schooled on paleontology as actual paleontologists are. This man is the encyclopedia of dinosaurs and that’s just his thing. A lot of those models he made himself. A lot of them he bought when he was in Japan touring in the early ’80s with Guns and put them together.
A lot of that stuff is all stuff that we got on different tours, but the dinosaurs in particular, when he and I originally hooked up, he had like a 10,000 square foot bachelor pad filled with pinball machines and dinosaur models. We’ve been keeping these in storage ever since and it was just time to unload them. They’re pretty cool.
Rick: I think it probably takes a lot of true grit to really be married to somebody who’s moved up so far in the world of rock ‘n’ roll. Did you know what you were getting into when you first met him?
Perla Hudson: You know what? It takes true grit, as you said, to be in any relationship long-term, regardless of with a rock star or not. Did I know what I was getting into? Not necessarily, but I had no expectations, and I still don’t and I just deal with things as they come. There are no expectations and nothing really shocks me.
Rick: I would think that you’d really have to be true to yourself at the same time.
Perla Hudson: Absolutely, and keep each other grounded and keep him grounded, specifically. Slash is such an introverted person that it’s very easy for him to get into his little world of music. We’re completely polar opposites, him and I, and it’s up to me to bring him out of that on a regular basis and be part of the real world. He’s kind of like a mad scientist in his lab, creating his music. Left to his own devices, he would be there 24/7.
Rick: How do you deal with all the noise, the media and the hysterics that surround the rock star thing?
Perla Hudson: It doesn’t really bother me. I’m not married to a politician, so what can they say that can bother us? [Both laughing] I’m a pretty open-minded person and nothing really shocks me, to tell you the truth.
Rick: The last time I interviewed Slash, after the interview he was going to a soccer game, taking your two kids to a soccer game. He sounds like he’s a pretty normal guy.
Perla Hudson: You know, we try to be. Recently, someone started working with us that couldn’t believe that he and I actually drive the carpool. He does too, with the rest of the kids. We have a carpool with two other families.
We try to be normal and as grounded as possible because at the end of the day, we’re all just human and you can’t escape your reality. Our reality might be a little different than others, but we have two really young boys that we want to keep grounded and have them grow up and be normal.
Rick: People tend not to like to brag about themselves. I actually taught a course with a psychologist and he said that people have no problem denigrating themselves, but when it comes to bragging about themselves, they tend not to like to do that. How about it? Would you mind bragging a little bit about who you are and what you think people should know about you? Things that you’re proud of…
Perla Hudson: Oh, okay. Goodness, I’m proud of my character, my survival skills. My parents were Cuban immigrants that, speaking quite frankly with you, were drug dealers when I was growing up. To have overcome that and have any sense of being normal was difficult. I grew up to be very loyal, but I had this entire crazy part of my life going on growing up.
I just think being a survivor and being open-minded are among the things I’m most proud of when it comes to my character. I’m very proud of my two children, that I have these two amazing little boys, and I’m really raising them to make a difference in the world when they grow older. I’m proud that I’ve been married 10 years this October. That’s a stretch!
Rick: Congratulations! Hey, your sons are really handsome little boys, really cute.
Perla Hudson: Thank you. They’re tough.
Rick: I bet.
Perla Hudson: When the older one was six months old and I had this baby nurse help me. She looked at me, she goes, “Oh, Perla,” she’s a little Irish lady, “This one is definitely not gonna be a wallflower,” and she was right. [Rick laughing]
Rick: A lot of guys who play, and I play guitar a lot, they often find that their spouses get a little bit tired of them playing guitar, maybe too loudly, and it’s happened to me and other friends of mine that when we’re playing, we kind of notice that the door gets closed on us. The wives are thinking, “That’s enough.” Tell me that Slash ends up experiencing the same thing, that he’s normal.
Perla Hudson: Yeah, but I love it when he plays around the house on his acoustic guitar. He does have a studio that’s completely soundproofed in the basement though. But, when they first built it, you could hear him blaring in the kitchen. It was okay for a minute, but after a while it got old, so we had to have it fixed. [Both laughing] But, he’s got like a soundproofed room down there.
Rick: That’s a good fix.
Perla Hudson: But, I love hearing him play acoustic guitar around the house, especially around the boys because one of them is taking guitar lessons. God, if he heard this, he’d probably kill me. I don’t know if he’s got that music gene, the older one, but the little one is extremely talented and self-taught to play piano and he’s in a little violin class. The little one is just amazing, so he’s enamored when he sees his father playing guitar. He just sits there and stares at him, so I love it, to tell you the truth.
Rick: Let me see if you’re willing to do an exchange with me here. If you’ll tell me what Slash’s favorite meal is or food, I’ll tell you what Les Paul told me his favorite food was and you can tell Slash.
Perla Hudson: Great! Let’s do that.
Rick: Les Paul’s favorite food was macaroni and cheese.
Perla Hudson: Slash’s favorite food is something spicy. Anything spicy.
Badass Characters: Volume I
In honor of International Women’s Day 2017, let’s talk about our female representation through popular movies and television shows - one’s that we like. The most popular television shows on right now consist of the Big Bang Theory, Supernatural, Criminal Minds, SVU, etc. Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz has a PhD and quite the lucrative job at a pharmaceutical company while appearing to be quite soft and feminine, a contrast you don’t find often represented. You can be feminine as fuck and educated as fuck and rich as fuck. But what feminist isn’t at least a little disappointed that the androcentric writers of the Big Bang Theory has her married to Howard - who consistently harassed women, made sexist jokes and is a firm representation of benevolent sexism. Amy Farrah Fowler is a neurobiologist obsessed with Sheldon loving her and Penny’s main character attribute is “ditzy”. Supernatural has like, zero, women, except for Satan’s mom and God’s sister, Criminal Minds has Derek Morgan whose “talk to me, baby girl” makes me cringe. And then there’s SVU, which tries so hard to represent all political viewpoints that it gives you whiplash - and for a show that is mainly about rape victims, it doesn’t always feel that feminist.
Although there’s a lot wrong - there’s still some good. Hence, the beginning of the new series I’m doing (probably - if I remember to keep posting these) highlighting some cool as fuck characters that deserve to be appreciated and have their character development applauded. Without further ado: Badass Characters Volume I
Tumblr media
No. 1: Leslie Knope //  Parks & Recreation (2009-2015) // “You know my code, hoes before bros. Uteruses before duderuses. Ovaries before Brovaries”
Parks & Recreation was pretty cool for several reasons: 1) it affirmed to the audience that local government is truly accessible; if those weirdos in Pawnee could state their peace, so can you. 2) guised as a mockumentary and comedy, the show highlighted sectors of government, using its platform of comedy to educate its audience about their own government and political process. 3) Leslie. Knope.
Amy Poehler plays Leslie Knope, a devoted gal pal, a declared feminist, a hard worker, a woman who literally, like, LOVES waffles. She spends a lot of conscious effort disbanding the “boy’s club” of politics, she never lets a remark about “a woman’s place” and gender roles go unrefuted. Leslie Knope uses sarcasm to call people out on their privilege, sneaks out of the hospital when incredibly ill to attend a meeting and redefines the adjective “hard working”. Perhaps a line that is so easily drawn and disappointing with female characters that are presented as feminist is that they seem unsupportive of women who do embrace traditional roles - a group of women that Leslie also continuously protects. She calls Men’s Rights Activism “ridiculous” and “nothing” and takes criticism of her feminism well - as evident of her leadership of the Pawnee Goddesses when she corrected herself in not allowing young boys to join her wilderness group of Pawnee girls.
Although Parks and Recreation is presented as silly - important issues are addressed through the medium of Leslie as she battles sexism in politics, having to dodge questions about her appearance while campaigning. Classism and obesity are battles that are fought through comedy, with Leslie Knope and group of lovely gal pals. Plus Galentines Day is the best.
No. 2: Olive Penderghast // Easy A (2010) // “Yes. Yes, I am a big, fat, slut”
Easy A is easily classified with Mean Girls & The Duff to be a fairly fun commentary on being a teenage girl. What makes this heroine pretty badass is her shamelessly embracing female sexuality, standing up for the right for a girl to do whatever the fuck she wants with her body while embracing such a wit, intelligence, integrity and maturity. Olive Penderghast is strong and independent. A lot of Hollywood depictions of high school kids tend to ignore that they are, indeed, children and that not everyone is having sex with each other all the time. That’s what makes Olive unique in the teenage girl movie world - she’s a virgin. Olive spends weekends alone singing pop songs that she would publicly shame (her hypocrisy is another quality that makes her pretty cool and well developed, I think) and although she stands up against the notion that everyone’s judging each other all the time - she kind of is judging people all the time. Rhiannon’s parents are too hippy, Marianne is too Christian and Micah’s kinda dumb.
The fact that Olive embraces judgement and stands up against slut shaming in her Ojai Valley high school without hesitation regardless of whether or not people were accurately representing her remains to be brave. She decides to exploit her reputation for profit to prove to the school that she couldn’t care less about their antiquated opinions on sexuality. Olive proudly displays an A on her clothing in allusion to the Scarlet Letter.
Olive proves to be selfless, sacrificing her reputation for a greater cause and even to save a teacher’s job. She’s opinionated, she likes to study and learn, is independent and sweet; she corrupts the smart/attractive binary by spouting relevant facts and literary terms while being tirelessly courted. Olive both understands and loves herself - but also feels the pressure to hide her unconventional traits, and encourages others to do the same. Olive isn’t perfect at all - but who actually is?
It’s part of what makes her so bad ass.
No. 3: Tiana // Princess & The Frog (2009) // “It serves me right for wishing on stars. The ONLY way to get what you want is hard work.”
The most important in this edition of Badass Characters, in my humble opinion is Tiana’s role as a Disney princess. The main character attributes of Tiana are her ambition, determination and hard work. No one is going to prevent Tiana from owning her own restaurant or from pursuing her dream of being a professional chef; “fairytales don’t come true, you have to make them happen”. The idea of dating and dancing is declared trivial to Tiana; why let anything get in the way of owning Tiana’s Place? AND - an even bigger bonus - she was actually written by a person of color.
Her persistence and frame of mind highlights the difficulties of coming from a poor and primarily black community in New Orleans, Louisiana. Tiana is intelligent and independent in a climate that deems her none of those things at all; she’s denied the opportunity to own her own restaurant after being told “a little woman of your background couldn’t handle it”.Tiana’s clever, capable and caring. As a workaholic, she’s put through trials and eventually turns to the wishing star. She later regrets this act, narrating to herself that her dream will only surface as reality through hard work; not depending on a frog/prince/arrogant as all hell man.
There are problems with the movie as a whole, as Tiana’s life wishes are answered when sent a man and the movie depicts voodoo as an evil (among many others). but I find Tiana to be extremely refreshing.
Young girls are looking up to a determined woman of color - learning that they can do anything they want to if they work hard enough. And in a political climate like ours today, it’s important to be reminded that things will only change with our persistence; with our ambition, determination, and devotion. Tiana teaches us nothing should get in the way of our goal; that we are independent and intelligent, caring and super fucking funny.
