I loved your answer to that ask. It’s okay to connect with artistic people. If I’m not hurting anyone where is the problem? If I’m feeling goo and right why is it wrong? As an introvert I’ve always like to spend time with myself and one of the ways I relieve stress or kill time is listen to music and be in my safe space. Of course I’m not saying one should only focus on kpop but if someone doesn’t wanna go out or it’s more shy and feels more comfortable spend their fridays night in watching skz mvs that’s their life. It’s not that deep. I really liked what you said before in another ask also “dont be ashamed to find comfort in stray kids but don’t loose sight of what you have and don’t ask for more” something like that.there is more in ur life than kidols but there is also more in life than going out and drinking. Shouldn’t think too much and take it life all the time too serious, it’s true.
I just think that there are nuances as with anything else!
Of course there is nothing inherently bad about kpop and/or stanning. In fact (and I don't want to get too political about this), how is it any different than what straight men do with sports and athletes? Why is it okay when individuals who are assigned male at birth do "masculine" things/stan people? These insane filmmakers... fucking Elon Musk. their favorite basketball team. You name them. That's considered entirely normal in today's world. Totally normal to wake up at odd hours of the day/night to follow a game that's outside of your timezone, etc. It's normal to spend hundred and thousands of dollars on sport events tickets, or cars, etc.
But when queer people, non-binary people, women, begin to stan musicians... god forbid!!!!!!!!! When they get a little too into a book series or video games, they are losers. If you wake up early/stay up late because your favorite idol is performing, you're a loser. If you buy a few copies of an album to collect photocards, you're a loser. This is the world we live in. I've known for a long time that no matter what I do, I would "lose" because I'm a woman. If I go out too much, it would be frowned upon. If I don't go out, also frowned upon.
Now considering all this: this is why I really try not to give a shit about what others think of me. God knows I've had to respond to racist and sexist comments about kpop. But nuances are real too! I collect photocards and I sometimes indulge in "expensive" ones. I fully realize how "stupid" it is to collect small printed selfies of my favorite boys. Member pricing is super morally wrong, and I happen to stan the one guy whose cards are always the most expensive/impossible to find (I'm looking at you Hyunjin Noeasy subk pob photocard. My impossible dream. My fantasy. My several hundred dollars unreachable goal) . But it's a hobby. Investing my time in skz is a hobby. I wouldn't be happy to know that some people spend their whole savings accounts on albums and merch. But I just think that in general, people should be respected no matter what their hobbies are if they are being kind and respectful (like I have no respect for people who invade idols' private lives etc)
So please know you are valid even if you are an introvert and if you are shy. It's okay. It doesn't make you any less of a good person. Do try not to let society tell you what is cool and what isn't. <3 It's ok to do things just because they make you happy.
Thank you always for your interesting messages and your time!! <3

ok the most frustrating thing about people buying tons of copies of albums (specifically for photocard collections and then to sell them on) is that if you’ve got an older album missing from your collection and go looking for it, it’s always without photocards and posters etc. and it drives me mad honestly like I don’t want all the photocards, I don’t collect them, but I do want the one or two that come with the album... I just want one complete album, is it too much to ask for????
