Monty x reader! Requested by @ifyouwontlistenwhowill
Summary: reader starts working at pizza plex to earn money for college, works at montys gift shop, Monty slowly starts falling in love with the reader.
Tumblr media
Day one: 11:31 A.M.
You stood outside the pizza plex nervous for your first day. I mean your job was easy, just selling stuff at the gift shop for Monty's Gators Golf, handing out any prizes if they had been won by people. People ugh that's the thing you were most worried about, was the large crowd. Taking a deep breath you walked in looking for the person that was supposed to show you around. Noticing someone waving for your attention, you quickly walked over, going through the crowd of people checking into the pizza plex.
The person in front of you quickly introduced themselves, quite cheerful for being at work. He grabbed your hand shaking it, "Hi! It's so nice to meet you! I'm Dave I'm the manager of the side of the building that the gift shop you will be working in is at!"
Smiling nervously shaking his hand back, introducing yourself also, "Hi it's nice to meet you too, I'm y/n."
Dave let go of your hand and smiled, "Well then let's get started with the tour then."
Day 1: 2:28
After having gone through the tour of the half of the building you would be on, you finally got to Monty's Gator Golf. He quickly showed you around the gift shop and how to work the cash register before looking back at you, "Okay one last thing before you can start, I need to introduce you to Monty since you are working in his attraction. You're gonna see each other often."
Before you could respond he gave you a serious look, probably the most serious one you've seen on him all day before saying "I will warn you though, Monty has anger issues. He usually doesn't show it until after hours but still be careful."
Now you were even more nervous than before, I mean you thought it would be easier to talk to the animatronics than other people but one with anger issues you had no idea what would happen. Dave started to walk away so you took that as a clue to follow after him. Finally finding Monty, who had just finished talking to a group of kids about the rules in Monty's Gator Golf. Dave had waited until the kids walked away before walking up with you to him.
He nervously smiled at Monty who had already started basically glaring at him, "Hey Monty I came to introduce you to the new person who will be running your gift shop."
Monty looked at you from over his sunglasses before making a scoffing-like sound and starting to walk away while talking, "I don't care what you do, just do your job."
Dave looked back at you and smiled, "Don't take it so rough, he's usually like that towards most people."
A little upset about how the first meeting went, you just nodded to Dave before he lets you go to open the gift shop.
Day 3: 8:03 A.M.
You sighed as you were opening the gift shop, your first day went okay, nothing really happened. You had your second day yesterday which also was uneventful besides Monty keeping a close eye on you. He didn't seem to want to interact with you though, just make sure you weren't up to anything bad. You were setting up all the stuffed animals using a ladder that had been in the back. Even with the ladder, it was hard to hook the small straps that kept the stuffed animals from falling.
Having to reach up higher, the ladder started to shake underneath you before giving up. With a quick scream and closing your eyes as you fell instead of feeling the ground, you felt metal. You opened your eyes and realized Monty was the one to catch you. He quickly sat you down and growled softly towards you "Be more careful about what you're doing."
Before you could respond Monty had started walking away and some other employees had swarmed around you to make sure you were okay. You thought maybe Monty was nicer than everyone said he was.
Day 11: 4:07 P.M.
You sighed looking at the time, noticing the shop was empty at the time you decided to go ahead and stock up on some small things that were out. Going over the shelves you noticed that the Monty pens were completely out and you knew from this morning you had stocked the last of them that were out in front this morning. Which means you would have to go in the back to grab a whole new box of them.
Now that you thought of it, your and Monty's relationship had gotten a little better, with small conversations here and there but it was mostly with you just talking. He would make small noises here and there to tell you he acknowledged what you said though. Shaking your head, you head to the back to look at the boxes. Only to your disappointment when you noticed the box you needed was at the very top.
You can't use the ladder, in fact you haven't seen that ladder since you almost fell off it that one time and since then all the plushies have been hooked up when you got to work. Climbing the shelf would only make it fall over on you. Standing on your tippy toes you could almost reach maybe a bit- suddenly you felt cold metal touch your back as a hand reached over you to grab the box you had been reaching for, feeling what felt like breathing on your neck for a second before it pulled back. You turned around seeing Monty as you tried to calm down the blushing on your cheek from how close he was a second ago.
As you were about to thank him, he handed the box over to you, "Next time ask for help, no need to get hurt over a box."
You nodded quickly and stuttered to him "Ri-ight thank you again for the help."
He just nodded and left heading back into his attraction. Wait what was he doing back here now that you thought of it, was he looking for you?
Day 26: 6:08 P.M.
The gift shop was closed for the next hour for you to restock items and clean up since they were too lazy to hire extra staff to do that while it was open. As you were cleaning you found a discarded club for Gator Golf. Picking it up you had decided to go ahead and return it but you didn't know where they went so of course your best choice was to give it to Monty himself.
Now you two were able to have full conversations with each other with him actually talking, well at least a sentence or two here and there. You two would talk about small things though mostly about instruments and hobbies. Making sure the gift shop was locked up while you were out you had started searching for him. Looking around you finally saw him watching over everyone near a wall, probably having just gotten back from one of the bands night performances.
Walking over to him you spoke up "Hey Monty, I saw this club at the gift shop and thought I would bring it back to you."
Having heard your voice Monty looks over at you and sees the club that you reached out to hand him but seeing that, he also saw the slightly torn-up bandage that was on your hand, "What's that?"
Noticing that he was looking at your hand, you looked down and remembered what happened this morning, "Oh um I hurt my hand moving around some boxes this morning, just scrapped it a little It's nothing bad."
Rolling his eyes he takes the golf club in one hand before grabbing your uninjured hand with his empty hand. Putting away the golf club nearby and continuing to walk you stop to ask "Um where are we going?"
Growing softly at you in a non-threatening way of course, "To a medic station your bandage is ripped and with you working plus sweating so much you're gonna get it infected if it's not wrapped the right way."
You smiled to yourself as the both of you continued to walk. You knew they were wrong, Monty was just a big softy after all....
Tumblr media
Well um, you can tell Monty is my favorite... 😃🤭 Anyways I didn't know what to do with the room thing so I didn't add it but I still hope you like it!

yandere nbc hannibal with a very chill fem darling? like he kidnaps her and she’s just like ‘i don’t have to pay rent or work and you’ll feed me and love me unconditionally?? bet sign me up’ lmao i think that would be me. idk just random domestic headcanons would be nice 😩😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
YES YES ABSOLUTELY YES
this would also be me (but with like, much more added fear💀) at least i’d have part of my life sorted
i’ll do a drabble and then put some domestic headcanons down for u💗
TW: Yandere behaviour, toxic relationship, implied kidnapping and false imprisonment, manipulation reader is female
Tumblr media
NBC!Hannibal x Accepting Female!Reader💗🌷 (and domestic headcanons)
Domestic headcanons under the cut:)
On the surface, from the minute he took you, it seemed as if you were simply in too much shock to properly respond to what he had just done.
From the lack of fighting, screaming, crying, or begging like he had expected, Hannibal just assumed perhaps your mind had switched itself to survival instinct. To be as kind and patient with him as possible from the fear he may harm or kill you
And Hannibal loves the fact you’re so accepting of the sudden situation, it makes accepting being with him much easier and means he is able to be so much more lenient with restricting your freedom within the house.
He adores how you’ll obey any command without question, sitting when asked to or retreating to another room when he needs you to leave momentarily.
On the surface, it does seem like everything is alright.
But below? He’s concerned for you, quite a bit.
Sure, he presumed you were simply in shock, and it should've worn off the more he slyly therapised you, but each time you became more and more accepting of his i healthy obsession towards you, and his constant affections.
It worried him greatly that perhaps you’d developed stockholm syndrome. He wanted your devoted love, not some sick loyalty.
He was also concerned that perhaps you were trying to earn his trust to run away
So, he brought his concerns up with you one night over dinner, mentioning how ‘well behaved’ you’ve been and how you should think of a ‘reward’
((*hint hint* “please tell me why you’re being so obedient, darling. *hint hint*))
“I don’t want a reward Hanni, I just like living here with you. it’s free and I don’t have to work” you reply nonchalantly, barely lifting your eyes away from the food as you eat
Hes a little insulted that you view him more as a home and money bank, but happy nonetheless that you see him as the sole provider and have to rely on him only for food and shelter
You can tell that you’ve insulted him a little, so that evening whilst he’s reading in his study you come up behind him and wrap your arms around his neck, asking when he’s coming to bed because you can’t sleep without him
(He forgives you forever)
Hey, it’s a win-win.
Most chores in the house have already been completed before you’ve even noticed something needs to be cleaned. Hannibal takes care of it for you, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t little things you can do
Hannibal will not let you cook. no no no. He’s worried his ‘special eating habits’ will undo all the love you have for him and you’ll run away, or worse, cease to love him at all.
Hannibal will not let you cook. no no no. He’s worried his ‘special eating habits’ will undo all the love you have for him and you’ll run away, or worse, cease to love him at all.
He lets you wash the dishes instead, snaking his arms around your waist from behind when you take too long.
Dusting the corners of the bookshelf, only Hannibal persuades you to climb down from the ladder since “it doesn’t need to be dusted”
(Hes actually just scared you’ll fall)
Loves spending his off days with you quietly reading whilst you sit in his lap, one hand on the book and the other running through your hair
When he trusts you enough, he’ll start bringing you out.
Never to his parties, no. Nobody can know you’re with him since your disappearance, but he’ll roam the woods with you or take you somewhere nice and secluded, letting you babble away at whatever current thing you’re interested in
Which, speaking of babbling, he loves hearing you talk. Tell him anything and he’ll listen intently, eyes softening at the sound of your voice

You have to understand.
At least at first, I didn’t mean to do it. I had just gotten out of College, a kid with a degree in History and an eye watering amount of debt. I made the mistake of telling the professor I did early 21st century historical reenactments for my summer job and he let me take on a titanic amount of debt for historical realism. I’m not sure who I owe the money to, since we live in a post scarcity society, but I sure worry about repaying it, so I have that going for me. Extra points for realism.
After I graduated - with an ulcer from stress worrying about the debt, another point for realism! - I was bumming around the orbital looking for a way to earn some quick cash and I realized how I could put my degree to use. Everyone has everything provided for them by the government because - after the Unpleasantness - we figured out that was easier and cheaper than giving everyone on the planet a gun.
But that means that everyone has mostly forgotten how to keep an eye out for scams. Who is going to scam you anyway when you all have the same access to cheap and easy housing, food, and Space Cocaine?
People who have mountains of debt due to historical accuracy, that’s who.
I set up shop right outside the exit from Customs on the station. Rubes-er People from all over the Galaxy would come, hellbent on seeing the sights of my planet and before they could hit up the Cøffee Haüs they would find me.
I started small; ran a couple of three card monte tables, but without a partner, convincing people they could win without them actually winning was tough. I hacked a janitorbot into being my assistant and soon enough I would have a crowd watching.
This, while effective was incredibly boring, so I changed to my plan B and just started making fake supplements. For maximum compatibility across all of the galactic species, mine were pure carbon (to absorb toxins you see). This increased who I could sell too without worrying (too much) about inadvertently poisoning anyone.
A few people were sad I moved away from scamming people with cards, but they became my first ‘partners’ in selling my supplement. I had to actually explain how a Ponzi scheme worked though, nobody remembered. I told them about how so long as they found more suckers underneath them, they wouldn’t be left holding the bag and it took off like an oxygen accelerated fire.
There was also an oxygen accelerated fire, but that can’t be traced back to me.
Three weeks later, I was the richest human in the Galaxy. Honesty, I didn’t even know where everyone even got the money, I thought we had eliminated it, but here I am, rich as hell. I feel a little bad about it, but if I admit the whole thing was a ploy to pay off my student loans, I worry that they’ll turn on me.
I still haven’t paid off my loans either. I don’t think I can swing the payments and the payments on my Super Dreadnought. Did you know they’ll build anyone one so long as you put the deposit down?
Anyway, do you want to get in on an incredible deal on the low effort world of supplement sales?

His sister...
Larissa x normie! fem! reader
OKAY this is the second time I post it bcz... well that was a wip and I posted it... I hate myself right now. Anyway I have to re-wright it. All of it. But that's okay :) (no that's not I wanna end myself)
Warnings : smut (that's the first time I write smut lol (the second as I already wrote this fic)) (the smut isn't with Larissa)
You are Larissa's brother's wife.
word count: ~3000
(I know this will look a bit like Mme Bovary, but... well, it's not a classic of French literature for nothing)
Tumblr media
You had married Philip Weems two months earlier. You didn’t love him. He was eleven years older than you, and not really your type. In fact you didn’t really choose to be his wife and to live in his house. Your father and him wanted to reunite their companies, and you were only there to make it look less commercial. You were here to give an heir. Lovely mission, you were not a woman anymore, you were a baby machine. He had flirted with you before you took the deal, probably to build up your confidence and make it easier for you to accept the situation, but now that you were his, he didn't pay any attention to you.
In his big house, your life was boring. You didn't have a degree, school was never really for you and because your father was rich, you never had to work. So naturally you had resumed reading. It allowed you to live a different life through the eyes of all the characters. And all day long you would read more and more of those mushy novels, dreaming of a life that was no longer available to you. You also started writing, but without telling anyone. It was a bit of a secret. You wrote the romantic stories you imagined all day. And then every day you went out to see your friends in a café in your neighbourhood.
“I promise, Jess’, he doesn’t bother me. I mean, he’s respectful. And I don’t need to work. A win is a win.”
Your friend Jessica narrowed her eyes.
“You sure ? I mean… you always told me you wanted to marry the love of your life when you’d find him.”
“I was younger, Jess’. I don’t believe in this bullshit anymore.”
Yes, you did believe it. You wanted to cry about it. You wanted to know Love. The Real Love. You wanted to meet him by accident in a library, or in a hostel, on the other side of the world. You wanted him to be young, at the same age as you, and you wanted him to love you.
You also wanted to work, to earn your own money.
“Respectful, okay but is he good?” Mary asked
“He is kind, if this is your question.” You pretended not to understand.
“You know what I mean, Y/N.”
“Not really, I doubt he is really interested in me. I mean I am probably too young for him. We just do it because that was a part of the contract, but he never makes me finish. Anyway I don’t need him for that.”
“You don’t love him and he doesn’t look after you. What a nightmare…” Jessica said.
“That’s not that bad. I don't have to worry about money, I have all my days to myself. I can look after myself.“
That wasn’t a positive thing in your opinion. You wanted to be independent. You wanted to be able to do whatever you could want. This made you feel like you were an object, some kind of trophy that he could show off at the parties you attended. You were there to be beautiful and to be silent.
No, the real positive thing was that you now understood your mother, and why she left you when you were a child. Your father always told you she was a bad mother and she didn’t love you. And before you got married, you were mad at her. But you knew, now you were married to a man you didn’t love. She didn’t love you, but she probably never wanted this marriage nor a child. You were thinking of leaving once you'd given Philip a child, the way she did before.
You wanted to find her, and to talk to her. You wanted to know the story of her life, of her marriage to your father. You also wanted to tell her that you understood her, and that you were no longer angry at her for abandoning you. If she hadn't wanted to be your mother, you wanted her to be your friend, because you were going through something she had gone through too..
“Alright girls, I gotta go. See you tomorrow!” You waved at them and left the café after paying for your drink.
It was time for you to go back to your home. Your husband would be home in less than half an hour. You had to help Livia cook. It wasn't in the contract, but you wanted to do it. Livia, although she spoke very little English, made you feel less lonely. She spoke to you in her half-Spanish English about her travels with her family. Even though she often told the same stories, you liked to hear her talk about places you had never seen. Especially when she talked about the sea of clouds over the Sierra Madre. You dreamed of going there. She told you that when she came back to visit her parents, she could take you there. But you knew your husband wouldn't let you go... And then you helped her to speak better English, she had made progress in the last two months. She taught you Spanish too, but for now, the only things you could say were "Soy Y/N, no me gusta mi marido" and some names of foods and ingredients.
Then, your husband would go home, and you would have dinner. He would watch tv, and the both of you would go to bed, and you would have to fuck.
Soon, he would fall asleep next to you.
And every night, after that, you used to imagine another man. Sometimes it was an explorer who would tell you about his many journeys, a writer who would make you read his most intimate texts, a painter who would take you for his muse...
But that night, he was a sailor. A handsome sailor you would have met in the inn where you were working. He would have asked for a room for the night and a meal. And while you were serving him, he would have made a few passes at you, to which you would have responded by teasing him. If at the beginning, it would have been innocent, you would have quickly come to the point where he would have proposed you to spend the night with him, at the end of your service. To which you would have replied with a "maybe", but as soon as your boss allowed you to leave, you would have knocked on his door.
“I was wondering when you’d come…” he would tell you.
Then he would take your waist and hold you close. You would kiss him, and it would become wilder as his hands would travel to your ass. He would gently but firmly push you against the wall.
“You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.” He would whisper. You would know that was a lie, but you wouldn’t care. And he would know it.
He would kiss your neck while undressing you. And when you would be completely naked, he would sit you on the bed and spread your legs to kiss your inner thighs, then your clit. He would lick your arousal and you would moan his name.
In your bed, you were circling your clit, legs spread, a hand massaging your breast. You imagined his head facing your wet pussy, saying you were tasting divine, his hands all over your body, caressing your skin. You were already so close and as he would ask you to hold on a little, you waited a few seconds before allowing you to come.
Next to you, your husband was sleeping.
Soon, you fell asleep too.
The sun was brushing your skin, slowly warming it. You opened your eyes. You were alone in your giant bed. Philip was already gone. You heard the clock striking nine. He used to leave the house near seven o’clock. You stretched your arms and legs and yawned. Watching towards the window, you could see the blue sky. This day promised to be good. You quickly showered and dressed up. Something simple. Black tights, dark skirt, white shirt. A safe bet. But to add a small personal touch, you clipped a blue tit pin on your shirt.
You always liked blue tit. Firstly because they were cute. A tiny bird, yellow and blue, with a kind of large eye liner and white cheeks. Secondly because you wished to go to Europe once. You wanted to travel to Austria, or Germany, and this Eurasian tit symbolised this dream.
Maybe one day you would quit New Hampshire.
Something on the dresser caught your eye. Some 50 dollar notes had been put there by your husband. He had written a message on a piece of paper: "so you can go shopping today, we have a guest for lunch".
You frowned and crumpled the paper. So he wanted you to look good with his guest, uh?
“I’m not a teen who needs pocket money.” you grumbled.
You put on black shoes, music in your earphones, and went out of the house. In the streets, the sun was warming the asphalt, and your steps led you almost automatically to the little café bakery in which you usually  bought your breakfast.
Opening the door, a smell of butter, sugar and vanilla reached your nostrils. By 9 am, not many people were left. But you would have noticed her in a crowd of thousands of people. She was sitting on a chair, a big cup of hot chocolate and a croissant on the table in front of her. Her blonde hair in a perfect updo, she wore a clear blue dress. She was looking at the window, her phone in one hand. She was so tall… Your mouth went dry when you noticed her red lipstick as she turned her head towards you. She had caught you staring in the glass reflection. She gave you a smile, and you were sure your cheeks became as red as her lips. You turned your head to the counter to order, removing your earphones.
Were you just staring at a woman?
Did she just smile at you?
You glanced over your shoulder. She was still looking at you, her blue eyes fixed on you, crossing her legs. She took a sip in her cup.
“Hot…” you whispered.
“Excuse me, Y/N?” the waiter asked.
“Yes-yes, Nicolas, er, I-I want a-a hot chocolate please. And… and, er… a profiterole please. Takeaway.”
“Ready in a second.”
You couldn’t stand her look, it made your knees go weak. Was it what Jess called a “gay panic?”. You had to know and tipped a message.
: Hey, Jess
: What exactly is a gay panic?
She was quick to respond.
J: When you look at a girl and you want to like… kiss her. Immediately. And you can’t function properly bcz you think about her kissing you.
J: Why?
: There is this woman at Nic’ and Jane
: I never felt like this for a woman.
: She’s so beautiful, I want her lipstick on my lips and on my throat right now.
J: Oh my god
J: You’re gay!
: Am I?
J: You ARE.
“Y/N?” Nicolas said.
“Uh? Yes, it’s me”
“I have your hot chocolate and your profiterole.”
“Thanks”
“Is everything okay? You seem distracted…”
“Yeah, I’m fine, thank you. Is it okay if I pay later? I forgot my wallet at home.”
“Of course, whenever you want.”
You took the paper bag he handed to you and went out of the café-bakery. The fresh air was really needed. You put your earphones back on.
Who was she?
You had never seen her.
Walking the street, you arrived in the big park in which you always ate your breakfast. Your favourite place was in a sort of hidden place, under a badly pruned weeping willow. There was a bench, and a little pond in which ducks used to swim when you were a kid, but now, there were only frogs left. Sometimes, a grey heron you named Alex was fishing in it. A grey heron in New Hampshire. That was the local attraction. It escaped an aviary two years ago and settled up in the park. No one tried to catch it. And now, it was the star of the neighbourhood's children, who often tried to find it. Sometimes, when it was in the pond, you would talk to it, as if it could understand what you were saying. And for the only answer, Alex would keep fishing, at the other side of the pond.
But this day, no Alex in the pond. And the frogs were happily jumping in the grass. The sunshine passing between the branches of the willow tree made thousands of small sun spots on the now shimmering  water. You wiped the bench full of willow leaves with your hand and sat there.
While drinking your hot chocolate, you thought about this woman, in the café bakery…
You wanted to see her again…
You had just finished your hot chocolate and ate your pastry when you heard footsteps in your back. You hoped no one would pass the curtain of leaves which hid you from the world. You liked to be alone, daydreaming about people you would never see again… Shit, they entered your secret garden. You sighed.
“What a pleasant surprise!”
You turned your head. That was her. She was there, next to you. Your eyes widened, your cheeks went red.
“Hi-uh… Hello.” You managed to say.
“Y/N, isn’t it? Can I sit here?”
“Y-yes, of course. How-how do you know my name?”
“I heard the waiter say it.” She sat, smiling at you. “My name is Larissa.”
“Larissa…” you whispered. Her name was quite unusual, and you liked it, you liked the way it sounded. You couldn’t look at her so you just fixed the water.  But in your peripheral vision you saw her smirk.
“And I paid your order.”
You turned your head towards her. Big mistake, now you couldn't take your eyes off hers.
“Oh no, you shouldn’t have…”
“And you should have sat with me in the bakery. I’m glad I found you.”
“Wh-why?”
Her look went down on your lips. You felt your cheeks warming.
“I don’t know” she said “I thought you could show me a good time…”
“I-I want to pay you back.”
“You don’t have to.”
“But I want to.”
“Mh, if you really want to, there is something you could do.”
“And what is it?”
Her hand approached your cheek. You held your breath. Was she about to kiss you? Your heart hammered in your chest as she stared again at your lips.
“I-I am a married woman.”
She froze. You held your breath. The wind blew and some willow leaves fell on you, the frogs and the pond.
“I’m sorry. I think I misunderstood your signals” She gave you a soft smile.
She started to pull her hand away from your cheek but you held it back.
“No you didn’t. I-I just thought that was unfair not to tell you.”
“I don’t understand…”
“That’s not a love marriage. I don’t love him, he doesn’t love me.”
“Oh. I’m so sorry.”
You shook your head. You didn’t like this pity gaze on you.
“Don’t. That’s okay.”
“You know, I was almost forced into a marriage, so I think I can understand what you feel.”
Her? Her, forced into a marriage? You suddenly felt understood, and safe with her. She took your hand.
“My former fiancé learnt I wasn’t a normie and refused the marriage.”
“What do you mean by a normie? You mean straight?”
“Yeah, I mean straight.” She didn’t want to tell you she was an outcast.
“To be honest I learnt I wasn’t today.”
“Am I your gay awakening?” Her smile grew bigger as you nodded.
She kissed you. Her lips were soft. Both of her hands on your cheeks, yours were on her hips. She left a last kiss on your cheekbone and smiled.
“How about a walk? Maybe you could show me the city.” She said.
“Of course, follow me.” You smiled.
You stood up and the both of you came out from under the willow.
“What was yours?” you asked, leading her on a path in the park.
“My gay awakening?”
“Yes”
You looked at her looking at the big trees.
“My brother’s first girlfriend. He always had good tastes in women. By the way, are you from this town? Because I’m visiting him, and he said he would send me the address but he seemed to have forgotten. Can’t blame him, he has a lot of work.”
“Yes, of course, I live in the neighbourhood. I might know him, what’s his name?”
“Philip Weems.”
You frowned. What did she say?
“I didn’t hear, can you repeat, please?”
“His name is Philip Weems.”
That was official, you just kissed your husband’s sister. What were you supposed to say? Was she the guest for lunch?
“Are you okay? If you don’t know where he lives, that’s okay.”
“I know where he lives.”
“Good morning Mrs Weems” a gardener said.
“Goo-good morning, Mr Johnson. How are you today?” you replied.
Larissa frowned. Did she know him?
And you cursed him for saying that right now.
“I’m fine, and you?”
“I’m fine.”
And he continued sweeping the path beside you.
“Mrs Weems, uh? You’re Philip’s wife.”
“I am.”
She chuckled.
“That only makes you more attractive…”

Self-Aware! Platonic! BSD Characters x GN! Teen! Neglected! Reader
Tumblr media
Description: You don't want to be jugged by others. They want you to be serious. To stop been childish. You don't want to change. But to make things easier for you, you pretend to be emotionless.
But you want to have someone in your life, with whom you can be yourself.
Found Family. Reader love hugs. Reader loves plushies.
Warning: Emotionally Neglectful parents. Reader skip meals and have insomnia. OOC, English is my second language.
_________
They said, that it's time for you to grow up. Your parents almost never been home, spending all their time in their company.
"Your parents are doing it, so you can have a good life. You understand, right?"
Yes, you understand. But, you wished, that they spent more time with you. At least, do their parenting and make sure, that you are eating and sleeping regularly.
"Be serious, please. Don't be childish."
You don't know, if liking manga, anime, music, games and plushies makes you childish, but it doesn't mean, that you can't be serious. Can't you be yourself in your own house?
"Are you spending money on plush toys again?"
"You are playing with plush toys? What are you, a baby?"
Yes, but you earn this money by helping people on the Internet with homework. You can decide, on what you spend this money.
"[Y/N], we are busy right now, we can't give you a hug."
No hugs, no head pats...
Everyone wants you to be serious
To stop been childish.
You aren't sure, you can change.
But you are sure, you can pretend.
Pretend to be distant and emotionless. Hide your interests.
So people won't judge you.
Cut yourself from others, so they won't find out about the real you.
And never tell anyone, that you want a hug.
_______
You almost fell down from the chair.
You doze off again. You shake your head, and blink a few times.
The game you were playing was paused. You yawn. Okay, enough for today.
You turn off your laptop and look at your phone.
5:00 am.
Once again, you didn't have any sleep tonight. Thanks, God, you are on vacation and don't have school for the next two months.
Or you, once again, will had to drink a few cups of black coffee to keep yourself awake.
You stand up from the chair, and take a few steps towards the bed. You plopped down on the bed. Right in the middle of your "nest", that was made out of plush toys.
Your house was big. Big and empty. Your parents work abroad, only visiting you two-three times per year.
Your parents barely were around. They prefer working. They send you money and hire some people to keep an eye on you.
You don't like this people.
They didn't care about your wellbeing. They didn't care, that you skip meals, or have sleepless nights.
They did bare minimum and do their own things.
It would be nice to have someone to care about you.
You cover yourself with a blanket and try to have some sleep.

🐾 Few days later, your wish come true.
🐾 BSD Characters got into your world. And they didn't like what they saw.
🐾 First thing they do - drove away people, that was your parents hired. And, thanks to some hacking from Ango and Katai and Tecchou's and Fitzgerald's diplomacy skills, they make your parents hire them to take care of you instead.
🐾 So, starting from that day, you had a bunch of people, who take care of you.
🐾 At first, you, as always with other unfamiliar people, were distant and emotionless. You don't want them to laugh at your love for plush toys and hugs.
🐾 Maybe, if you manage to become friends...
__________
🐾 BSD gang doesn't like what they see. You were strange. They have felt your emotions back in their world. You were so emotional, so open. So why you were so closed off? Why you didn't care about your health?
🐾 Well, they will make sure, that you will become better.
🐾 Yosano performs medical check up on you almost weekly.
🐾 The problem with sleep are tricky to deal with.
🐾 They don't want to tie you to the bed or turn off the power in the house.
🐾 So, they just check you from time to time.
🐾 You actually start sleeping more and better.
🐾 The problem with skipping meals were also solved.
🐾 But, they find a solution. A meal duty.
🐾 Teruko and Oda are on meal duty.
🐾 Oda will call you to come out and eat. If you refuse, Teruko will use her ability on you, to turn you into a child. Then Oda would carry you to the dinning room and will place you on the couch between two characters. Then Teruko, once again, would turn you back to normal.
🐾 The first time it happened were interesting.
________
"Oda, I will eat later... Wha? Teruko?" Teruko turn you to a nine-year-old kid. Your clothes were too big for you.
"Well, [Y/N], you need to eat. Don't skip meals." Explained Teruko, giving you a soft look.
Not giving you a chance to react, Oda picked you up and carry to the dinning room. There was almost all BSD gang.
Oda carries you to a couch, where Jouno and Tecchou already were sitting. Oda places you between them.
"There, now I will bring you a plate."
After Oda left, Teruko used her ability again. You were teen again. You wanted to stand up and go to your room, but Jouno and Tecchou almost squeezed you between them. You were trapped.
The dinner was delicious. And you have a nice chat with Tecchou and Jouno.
___________
🐾 After a week of Oda's and Teruko's efforts, you stopped skipping meals. While it was nice to be carried by Oda, or having pats from Teruko, you don't want to be a brat.
🐾 You are not a brat. And you start to open up to the characters. But you were still shy around them.
🐾 The first time you came to the dining room by yourself, you thought, that you will sit on the chair. You would miss sitting on the couch between characters and having chats.
🐾 But, before you can sit on a chair, Naomi grabbed you by the shoulders and lead you to the couch.
🐾 For the rest of the dinner, you were sitting between Tanizaki siblings, having a conversation about new movies.
🐾 Thanks to the meals, you were opening up to others.
🐾 You start to show them your emotions.
🐾 For characters, it was a good sign. You start to resemble the person they knew you are. But, they feel, that something was still hidden.
🐾 Despite understanding, that BSD characters care about you, for now, you were still nervous to show them your more 'childish' side. You were afraid to tell them, that you like hugs and a collection of plushies in your closet.
🐾 The best part of the meals, is that you have a some sort of human touch.
🐾 You love hugs. But, as everyone always said to you, it was childish to like them.
🐾 It was childish to like plush toys.
🐾 Your plushies originally were on your bed, but you hide them in the old closet in the hall, so others won't see them. To others, you said, that there were old rugs in this closet.
🐾 But, one day, the cat was out of the bag.
____________
While you and Atsushi were shopping, Goncharov had an idea to do a spring-cleaning. With everyone to help with it.
For a spring-cleaning, they need a lot of rugs.
They gather around the closet, where you told them old rugs are.
You and Atsushi were back from the supermarket. When you walk inside the house, you saw Kenji opening the closet door.
Before you can stop him, all your plushies fall from the closet.
Silence.
You looked at the characters, embarrassed.
Characters looked at you.
All of you were silent for a good minute.
"[Y/N], why there are plush toys of Sigma, Kenji, Ranpo and me in a basket that says 'Mission: Get a hug'?" Asked Atsushi, looking at your plushies.
You mumble something incoherent. You were so embarrassed. Now they see, how childish you are.
Ranpo chuckled quietly and take a step towards you.
"I can help with explanation".
Ranpo grins.
"Like plushies?"
"Yes" No laughing. Doesn't seem, that BSD gang will mock you.
"Has another interest, that seems not suitable for teens?"
"Yes" You looked at the floor.
"Were called childish?"
"Yes" Gang looked sympathetic.
"It hurts you?"
"Yes" Even more sympathetic looks.
"Try to pretend that your interests have changed?"
"Yes" You finally looked at Ranpo. He doesn't look smug. His gaze was soft, and the smile was reassuring.
"Too much pressure?"
"Yes" Atsushi, who was standing next to you, pet your shoulder.
"Start skipping meals and stay up late?"
"Yes" Yosano's eye twitch. She was really concerned. Finally, she knew the reason behind your bad habits.
"Parents don't care?"
"Yes" This fact angered your new friends. Hirotsu mumbles something about 'not-suitable for parenting people'.
"People, that we throw away, didn't care?"
"Yes" You are sure, you heard Junchirou and Jouno talking about visiting your former 'caretakers'.
"Were afraid that we won't care or will laugh?"
"Yes..." Your cheeks feel warm.
"Feel better now?"
"Yes" You nodded.
"Want a hug?" Ranpo's grin became bigger.
"Yes... Wait, what?" Before you can react, Ranpo hugged you. He was warm. Ranpo start petting your back.
You were pretending not to like it for a whole thirty seconds.
After that, you almost melt in Ranpo's embrace.
__________
🐾 The Wall is broken.
🐾 Now, with BSD cast, you can be yourself.
🐾 You are emotional. You are not afraid to show, that you like your new friends.
🐾 But, for you, the best thing that came, were hugs and head pats.
🐾 The sheer contrast between an emotionless teen with bags under their eyes, that you were, and a bundle of emotions, who almost purr after getting a head pat from Fukuzawa for doing good at school.
🐾 Your physical health and mental health have improved. Now there is no stress in your life, no people, who judge you.
🐾 Now there's only you and BSD characters. You care for each other. And nothing can destroy your new family

When Hell Freezes Over
Jaco was one of the fittest men out there. He was ripped, he kept up a tightly managed regime, and every part of his life was measured out to ensure his physique was perfect. This also included his family life.
His wife, Renate, carried the weight of the family on her shoulders, looking after multiple sons while Jaco earned the money through his fitness empire. It was a lot for her to look after. She did always have one dream: to have a daughter. She continually raised with Jaco the idea of having one more child. To which Jaco always replied, "That will happen when either hell freezes over, or when men become pregnant."
That was enough to trigger a desire in Renate to make one of those things come true: get Jaco pregnant. The idea somehow was easier to make a reality through this unusual drug that was appearing out of Russia, where these ridiculously muscular men would somehow also be able to bulk up by getting pregnant in what would be their off-season training period. Her only point of references were these surreal pictures of bodybuilders with seriously massive bellies.
Renate managed to track down the contact details of one of the men, Stepan, and explain the situation. Stepan empathised with her and gave her a complementary box of the drugs. He also gave her a box of new experimental drugs which intend to ensure multiples are in the pregnancy, which also conversely means a bigger muscular reaction post-partum. From Renate’s perspective, it was two boxes of Russian drugs, with instructions in Russian and a loosely translated English info sheet. She just needed to crush one tablet a day and incorporate it into Jaco’s meals or drinks. It’s meant to have a “dark berry” flavour, whatever that means, she thought.
Jaco didn't think much of the new drug from Renate. It didn't taste too different from other drugs she's had him try, and he could feel the difference after a week of trying it out. He felt stronger, he felt more energised and he felt ready to take on whatever was thrown at him in the gym.
At least, Jaco felt like that for about two weeks. Then the morning sickness started. He felt like everything he was working towards was immediately disappearing. He just couldn't keep anything down except wafers and water, and even that was a struggle.
A couple of weeks later, the morning sickness ended, but was instead replaced with a tiny bulge in his belly, and what felt like growing pains in his waist. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he didn't like it. He also had this urge to eat anything with dairy. Cheese, cake, ice cream - you name it, he had to have it.
Months went by without any clearer answer, until one day Renate dropped a bomb on him while he was wandering around the house in one of the only things that stretched with his growing belly and body - underwear.
Renate confessed that she really wanted to have another child, and was able to secure a drug which seemed to make it possible.
Instead of being shocked or angry, Jaco was elated. "I knew something was off, but this is great! I do wonder if this means we'll finally have a daughter now!"
Tumblr media
(morph by @bigmpregnm)
What Renate didn't realise was that she gave Jaco the experimental drug which meant he was having not one, but two daughters.. but they'll just have to find that out in a couple more months when Jaco pushes out the two girls!

Love your drabbles! I cannot stop reading and sharing them. I have another prompt if you are still taking them! It would be interesting to see Gaz defend his Jamie when he is invited as a special guest to that CBS show Jamie is on. Would love to see protective Gary against Kate Abdo with Big Meeks laughing in the background and Titi being torn between helping Kate or (rightfully) knowing when a battle is lost. Maybe a dib at Kate how being a host is easy money compared to being actual pundits & analysts
kinda obsessed w this prompt being sent like a day before Jamie ran his big mouth on live tv and got in trouble for it (though tbh he's ALWAYS running his big mouth and what he said abt kate not being loyal wasn't even up there with worst mistakes imo it's just the one that happened to go viral). but also YES I am obseeeeessed with the UCL Today gang's dynamic the banter.... the thinly veiled dislike between Jamie and Kate.... chefs kiss
Also, this ficlet can be considered part of the wife-gary saga and having said that I'm wondering if I should have that as a tag so the other prompt fills in that universe are easier to find......
---
“Joining us in the studio today is one of the most decorated British footballers of all time, with over a hundred appearances in the Champions’ league and two titles to show for it, it’s Gary Neville. Gary, welcome to the show.”
Gary, who’d been grimacing awkwardly through Kate’s introduction, shakes his head around a bit and then gives her a smile. “Glad to be here, I –”
“—hold on, hold on,” Jamie interrupts, “can we go back to the ‘two titles’ thing for a second?”
“Yes, James, I have two Champions’ league medals,” Gary says, turning to look at Jamie with one unimpressed eyebrow raised. “As many as everyone else in this studio combined, I believe. What’s not clickin’, can you not count that high?”
To Jamie’s left, Micah doubles over with laughter, but Jamie just shakes his head, reaching a hand out to Gary’s chest, pushing him back in his seat. “No, no, Gary, why don’t you tell our audience how many games you played to earn that second medal, eh?”
Before Gary has a chance to defend himself, Kate primly says “about thirty more across his career than you did, Jamie,” which sets the whole table off laughing again while Jamie sits glaring in the middle of it all.
*
Jamie, as the lone Scouser in the cast and the only one not to have won a Premier league (besides Kate, obviously, but she doesn’t count), often feels ganged up on at CBS. And to have Gary on as a guest, even though he’d agreed to the idea (and quite enthusiastically, though don’t tell Gary that), feels like an extra kick in the shin.
Because not only is Gary, Mister Manchester United, getting obvious favouritism from lifelong United supporter Kate, he has the more crucial advantage that nobody in America knows who he is.
This means that Gary on CBS is not ‘below-average defender who only achieved what he did through obsessive hard work and sucking up to Fergie’, no, Gary on CBS is ‘best full-back of his generation, Manchester United and England legend, one of the top 10 most decorated British footballers of all time, and David fucking Beckham’s best mate.’
When you look at it like that, it’s a lot harder to find something to tease him about.
Jamie still manages, of course, he’s spent the past decade making a career out of insulting Gary Neville and he’s damn good at it. Over the course of the show he’s able to get in a few digs about his nose, his hair, his weight, his dress sense. But that’s all appearance stuff, which is easy – one look at Gary and the jokes basically write themselves.
What that says about Jamie, the idiot who went and married him, he’s not sure.
Everyone around the table is joking about Istanbul, which is easy enough to do if you weren’t there, which none of them were, and it’s enough to get Jamie’s blood boiling. He’s getting ready to launch into a rant about how it was one of the greatest games in footballing history when Kate cracks a line about how Jamie’s successes were all dumb luck, and Gary’s face scrunches up in displeasure.
“Oh, I’m – I’m not sure that’s fair, really,” he says quietly, glancing back at Jamie as he does. “Don’t get me wrong, that Liverpool team were nowhere near Champions’ league winner quality, I’m sure James would agree w’me on that –” Jamie, very reluctantly, nods. “—I mean, they finished fifth in the league that season, got knocked out of the FA cup their first game. There’s always a bit of luck to be fair, gettin’ to a Champions’ league final, but credit where it’s due – they were a scrappy little team, and that win was well deserved.”
On Gary’s right, Thierry nods in agreement, which is quite possibly the highest praise Jamie’s ever received from the man, and even Kate gives Jamie an awkward little smile once Gary’s done talking.
Under the desk, Jamie drops a hand to Gary’s knee and gives it an appreciative little squeeze.
*
As soon as the cameras are all off Jamie wastes no time in grabbing Gary by the wrist to pull him onto his lap, where he sort of half-perches half-hovers because he’s nervous about putting all his weight on Jamie’s knees (even though Jamie keeps telling him it’s fine).
Gary makes no complaints at being manhandled, just smiles fondly down at Jamie and pinches his cheek. “Look at you, you vain fuck. What I said were barely complimentary and it’s still got you all over me.”
Jamie ignores this (because they both know it’s true) and surges forward to kiss Gary instead, paying no mind to the others still in the vicinity of the desk while they get their earpieces and microphones unhooked. He hears a groan from Micah, and an exasperated sigh from Titi, but they can both go fuck themselves because Jamie’s horrible bastard of a husband willingly said something nice about Liverpool on live television, and if that’s not cause for celebration then he doesn’t know what is.
When Gary breaks the kiss with a pleased little hmph and gets up to wander over to the snack table, Jamie is left to face his colleagues, all three of them looking at him with faces twisted in an attempt to suppress their laughter.
“Man like Jamie,” Micah says gleefully, clapping his hands together. “I knew you was bringin’ the missus on for a reason, this is like foreplay for the two a’yous, innit?” As soon as he finishes the sentence, he shudders at his own words, then adds “oh, ew, that’s like thinking about your parents, don’t want to know any more.”
“I think you’re onto something there, Meeks,” Kate laughs, “and here I was thinking he’d brought him on to show off his trophy wife.”
Jamie wants to protest that he did not bring Gary onto the show, he’s not the one who made the suggestion and it’s definitely not showing off or foreplay or whatever else his colleagues can come up with, but then Kate’s nudging him in the side with a smirk and saying “Trophy wife, Jamie, get it? Because he has a lot more trophies than –”
Jamie stomps off to go find his stupid annoying and very very successful trophy wife before Kate is able to finish the thought and prompt him to say something he might regret.

Found this Gael interview from 2006 in the comments section on another interview. Accidental rabbit hole.
2006 New York Post interview:
It's not for nothing that Gael Garcia Bernal was twice cast as revolutionary Che Guavara. The Mexican actor is as charismatic as he is outspoken - especially when it comes to issues concerning his native country.
He's also responsible for some serious box-office magic back home: 2001's "Y Tu Mama Tambien" was the biggest opening weekend ever for a Mexican film, and 2002's "The Crime of Father Amaro" was the most successful Mexican film in history (and possibly the most controversial - he played a secretly non-celibate Catholic priest).
Bernal is currently starring in director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's "Babel," alongside Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, and was recently seen riding a stop-motion stuffed horse in Michel Gondry's fantastical film "The Science of Sleep."
Q: Mexican directors are hot right now. Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu made waves with "Amores Perros" and "21 Grams." Alfonso Cuaron did it with "Y Tu Mama Tambien." Is Mexico becoming a center for film?
A: There's definitely a worldwide sense that Mexican cinema is pretty big, or a bit "in fashion," right now. Latin cinema as a whole, really. There's this rebirth feeling. But this is nothing, for what the country deserves - Mexico is a country of 100 million people. The year "Amores Perros" was made, there were only six films made there! And this year, it's 65. So there's been a big increase.
But unfortunately, in Mexico, it's harder to make a movie, to even contemplate the idea of directing a film - not many people have the opportunity. I'm sure people from the mountains in Oaxaca find it so far away [from their reality] to do a film. And at the same time, it's exactly those kinds of voices that you want to hear.
If I had to stick with one reason why films matter, it's that: getting to know the "other," and finding that the other is not so different than you are. That's what I think of when I feel like I don't want to make movies anymore.
Q: You have moments when you want to get out of movies?
A: Yeah, I mean, sometimes you feel unprepared, you feel untalented, like you're doing something you don't like, or that you're just doing it terribly. Or you don't like the industrial side. But at the end of the day, there is always that thing. I want to do films because I am an audience first, and films have made me know more about the other - and that the other doesn't exist, really.
Q: Which is one of the points of "Babel." But some people, like the busload of U.S. and British tourists, come across worse than others, don't they?
A: Well, there's two points of view about this movie - you can see that, OK, the people from the U.S. are portrayed as scared people, really worried about health and dirt. But you can also see the other side: Why are the ones that die always from poor countries? We are always the ones that die.
Q: Your character in "Babel" makes pretty bad decisions after he's stopped by an aggressive cop at the U.S.-Mexican border. Have you, or someone you know, ever experienced anything like that?
A: My character makes a bad mistake in a drunken state. But yeah, when you're Mexican, it's a bit of a situation. You have to apply three months before, and it costs $80 for the visa. Sometimes you have to show bank statements to show you're earning money, you're not coming to the U.S. to work. It's kind of stupid - as if money was a sign of honesty, or goodwill. It's a rite of humiliation. They act as if you are coming here to steal.
Q: Is it easier for you to avoid this than most, though?
A: No, no - the last time I crossed the border, walking, I was asked, "Where do you come from?" And I'm like, "Well, I'm from Mexico." And they say, "No, where do you come from?" And I say, "I come from Mexico." I mean, what am I supposed to explain? And they say, "What were you doing in Mexico?" And I say, "Well, I live there." And they say, "No, but what were you doing right before you came here?"
I'm not gonna answer that. Because - you know, what do you care? We're radicalizing the process of integration, and that's terrible. Because it's going backward in time. But it's not just the U.S.'s fault - Mexico is shamefully not providing a place for people to work and live properly. It's everyone's fault.
Q: Did that experience make you want to avoid the U.S.?
A: No. I mean, we share the same territory! But Bush just signed off on the law to start building a wall. It's the second biggest wall that's ever going to be built, it's going to rival the Great Wall of China. And it costs so much money, and so much human resources. Maybe I'm stating the obvious here, but it's kind of ridiculous to build a wall. Walls are always destroyed eventually.
Q: Aside from acting, your production company organizes a worldwide traveling documentary film festival, Ambulante. Are you planning the 2007 festival yet?
A: Yeah, it's happening in 18 cities, on commercial screens, with a big chain - for half-price! Very cheap, it's like $2. And we're going to get together some 15-20 films, divided into three sections. One section we're calling "Dictator's Cut," which is about censorship. For one of those, we're showing both the "official" version and the real one; the rest are already restored, but some of them were completely not shown. It's very exciting.
Q: Your role in Michel Gondry's "The Science of Sleep" was one of your least political roles - was it fun to cut loose and just be weird?
A: It was great, it was a joy to act in. I had a lot of fun doing it. I think not many people have seen it here. Maybe because it was done in France? I mean, it's got good numbers, but still, I wish it would be much more.
There is still this myth - like, for example, I saw the trailer for [Mexican director Guillermo Del Toro's upcoming film] "Pan's Labyrinth," and they don't show you it's in Spanish. You never see a character speaking. I just think that's cheating, you know?
If they actually tell me that there's this weird Iranian love story - I want to see it, because it's in Iran. If it's about a love story in Florida, well, I've seen that before. I'm interested in the further-away, the more surprising.
Q: Do you ever worry that people will take you less seriously because of your looks?
A: [Laughs] No - there are prettier boys than me.

More parent headcanons with Dehya and Beidou?
Parent Headcanons - Dehya & Beidou
Genre: Fluff
Characters: Dehya & Beidou Xi
A/N: Since Dehya has not been released officially yet, I'll use the Sumeru namecard for her. For the same reason, she might be ooc.
Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Dehya
The thought of being a parent caught her by complete surprise.
One evening, you were resting after a difficult job. After you patched up all the wounds, you quickly fell asleep and Dehya was left tracing circles on your stomach, staring up at the starry night sky.
Her mind wandered from one memory to another. Images of her childhood and her mother got her thinking. What would it be like to be a mother?
She found the idea laughable at first. A mercenary mother?
Dehya often looked at her hands and wondered - could these hands, the same ones that rip open throats on a daily basis, hold something so defenseless and precious?
The lion mane didn't think she was right for the job. The only thing she had been doing for years was kill. Hurt, cut and maim for the glittering Mora. Is she still even capable of love?
Dehya will reject the idea for weeks, months. But her mind won't let it go. She'll subconsciously pay more attention to any children she'll see, imagining herself as their caretaker.
After much consideration, she'll work up the courage to ask you.
"Do you think I would be... a good mother?"
After hearing your reassurance that she indeed would be, Dehya will reveal her recent worries to you in full.
She will sit down with you and discuss everything relating to your child. When you come to an agreement and make preparations, Dehya will arrange an entire free day for the making-of process. Just to make sure that you go through without any unnecessary hold-ups.
Dehya always imagined herself as the mother to a single child, a son to be precise. Having a male heir would ease a lot of her worries about their safety. In the desert, a lone woman, of any age really, is in more danger than any man. Also, her son would naturally be stronger, and have an easier time defending himself.
For the time of the pregnancy, Dehya will move with you to Aaru village. It's safe, but still close to her work. She won't go out for field work, obviously, but will gladly do other things to still earn money. It will be far easier if you keep doing jobs - you'll remain in the job market, and there can never be enough Mora.
Candace will gladly host her friend, and help her along the way. As the village caretaker, the woman has had lots of experience with children. She will makes sure that Dehya eats healthy foods, doesn't push herself and stay away from alcohol and other drugs. Candace will keep her company when you're away as well.
Childbirth and the early days of care will be small beans for Candace, who will teach Dehya how it should be done.
The lion mane will get softer after becoming a parent. If you get yourself injured more severely, you'll get a scolding you wouldn't expect from a fellow mercenary.
Dehya will assume a more off-field role within the Eremites - thanks to her fame, getting good contracts and long-term deals will be much easier. It also means she's in no direct danger of getting killed.
She'll bother you to do so as well, but if you don't... Well, it's your choice. She'll just ask you to stay safe, as her kid needs a father as well.
Dehya will make sure to arrange lots of quality time, all three of you involved. She really wants to make sure that her son will get all the love he deserves, from both sides, and grow out of a healthy, loving home.
She will make sure her child gets an education, and will pay for any dictionaries he might need. If her son wants to pursue a degree in the Akademiya, she'll help out financially as well. Mercenary work doesn't exactly pay little.
Despite having piles of money, Dehya won't spoil her child. Sure, she will give them plenty of gifts and toys she couldn't have in his age, but not that often.
Dehya is the perfect mix between strict and lenient. If not for Candace, she would be pretty demanding.
Yes, Candace plays an important role here. She will do her best to keep Dehya and her child safe. And also, she would never miss an opportunity to care for a child, especially of someone this close to her. She really wants her own heirs, but Candace hasn't found the right man yet.
Dehya won't give up fighting. Not at all, in fact - she'll help Candace clear out any monsters, Fatui or bandits that may come close to Aaru.
Her child will get plenty of fighting exercise as well, but with no actual killing involved - whether it be scorpions or Hilichurls.
Dehya is well aware that her way of life isn't exactly a good example for her son. She will make sure he doesn't pursue the same path of bloodshed - that would put him not only at a huge risk of death, but could lead to them being on the opposite sides.
Dehya cares a lot, and doesn't hesitate to show it. She will fight and die for her child if she needs to. With you by her side and Candace as back-up, your son will have a good entry to life. 9/10.

Beidou Xi
Beidou lives for adventure, be it exploring open seas, fighting legendary monsters or hanging out with you.
And parenthood is an adventure and a half for sure.
Beidou always wanted to leave something behind her, and someone to continue her legacy.
When Beidou wants something, she'll get it.
Don't mind her - she'll borrow you and a small barrel of wine for her quarters. Expect a long night ahead.
Beidou is not one to engage in combat very often (despite her nature), but being pregnant will make her life harder.
Mainly because she can't drink. She could, but it would harm her children, which is not what she wants.
Once she stops breastfeeding, though, she's going all in on any important occasion.
Seeing her sober on birthdays or festivals after her kids go to bed is quite rare. Beidou will do her best (and would like you to help) to get her senses back before they wake up again, or at least stay out of sight.
She has the responsibility to avoid appearing drunk in front of her children. Until they're of age, at least.
Getting completely wasted at her heir's eighteenth birthday part with you is something that's been in her head since forever.
The ship is not the best place for keeping infants around, so for the early days she will remain in Liyue Harbor or close to shore.
She's really struggling to sit in one place for longer periods of time, on the account of her traveling and adventurous lifestyle.
Beidou is really glad that both the stationary living and abstinence will last only about a year.
Especially that Beidou is lacking in the whole 'parental patience' department. Sure, she loves active, quality time with her little one, but the gaps in between? Well...
She might have defeated Haishan, but a bratty, or just toddler-y toddler is too much.
That will lead to her whining about it whenever you're around, not-so-subtly wanting you to take over.
And what else would a loving husband do in the face of such a request?
Yep, you'll end up being the real caretaker here, while the captain enjoys all of the fun parts, like going out to play. Or sparring.
She will teach her little one to fight, and with real opponents - slimes - once they're ready. Not only is that a practical way of bonding, but also a great way to exercise.
As much as she would like to have a merry band of youngsters running around the ship, Beidou isn't that keen on the whole waiting part. So one kid it is.
And a male, if you'd ask her. Beidou thinks that it will be just easier for him to adapt to the ship and find his place among its crew.
Don't worry though - the little one will have lots of company.
Kazuha will hang out with the kid most often, singing songs and lifting the youngling into the air with his Anemo Vision.
Who knows - if no fitting owner will be found for his Vision shell, the kid will get it - unless they'll get their own.
With a woman as great as his mother to look up to? He'll most likely gain an ambition to follow in her footsteps, and your wife will gladly push him in that direction. If he'll have any other plans, she's fine with it.
Xiangling and Guoba will be the best babysitters to leave Beidou's child with. But not too often - Xiangling will make sure she gives him back with a full stomach. And Guoba? He's essentially a living teddy bear, so there's nothing to add.
Ningguang will be honestly surprised by Beidou's decision. She will surely gain another level of respect for her associate.
Venti will keep a close eye on the kid especially if he has any dead friends.
Beidou, while not having everything it takes to be a parent, will put her strength and effort into raising a worthy successor to her. Or just a strong and independent individual. 7/10.

How do u make your yearly budget ? I remember you posting about your budget spreadsheet once. Pls I am v interested on how you set it up
I simply must ask if you're the FBI agent in my phone, because I genuinely just sent a message to a friend saying how excited I was it's the end of the month, meaning tomorrow I get to start with a fresh new slate in my budget hahaha
alright let's talk:
I don't do a yearly budget, technically! I budget month-per-month. There are lots of styles of budgets—some allowing for a yearly/more Long Term view—but what worked for my income level was a month-based system.
I lurked on r/personalfinance on reddit for a long while and actually pilfered my budget template from there!
I use this one, which I like both because I've used it for five years and because it's just plain ol' simple. I don't need charts to automatically populate and I don't want to categorize every purchase I make. I just want to see how much money I have per month and how much I'm spending.
That's also crucial to how I personally do budgeting. I don't set aside $X for food and $X for activities and $X for going out or whatever every month. That isn't productive to me; my life looks different every month depending on what's going on. I don't use my budget to be prescriptive; outside of my fixed expenses (rent, utilities, etc.) I just use my budget to track 1. where my money is going and 2. how much of it I have left.
If you want something with a bit more frills, there are lots of other options (one, two, three) on reddit, but I've [personally] found all their bells and whistles overwhelming. If they have useful features you want to use (like, some will have tabs for you to track debt and payments toward it), you can experiment with them, but I don't recommend them for someone new to budgeting.
...I also don't inherently recommend my preferred spreadsheet, either. It doesn't work for everyone. I've shown it to some friends and they almost immediately knew it wouldn't work for them. The reason it works for me is because I am kind of neurotic about budgeting.
To me, "peace of mind" is maintained by having a really close eye on my finances. That means that I track what I spend daily. I manually input every purchase into the spreadsheet. I manually put every paycheck into the spreadsheet. I keep the Google Sheets app on my phone for this very purpose.
That isn't something everyone's willing to do, and there's no shame in that—we all find the different tools that work best for us! But if you don't think you're able to keep up with manually tracking every cent you make and spend, I don't think that this method will be good for you.
If you need more automation in your budgeting, where you can get things autofilled and so on and so forth, I would have pointed you towards Mint, which I've heard good things about, but it's sadly shutting down this March. The article I linked provided an alternate recommendation, but I can't personally vouch for any of those services.
I've been tempted by YNAB a time or two — I like the idea that they intentionally work you towards living off of old paychecks instead of the money you earn month-of [which is a financial goal we should ALL strive for, even though it can be very hard], and I like that they encourage giving every dollar a "job", but you don't NEED their service to do either of those things. I don't like paying money to save money, you know? lol
I keep a secondary, simple spreadsheet with my "rolling funds" in it — money I set aside every month (which I input as a monthly "expense" in my normal spreadsheet) which I allocate to specific funds, like car funds, travel funds... I even had a "hockey game fund" for a few years, haha.
I prefer that method to paying for a service to do it for me. I'm sure YNAB has some nice bells and whistles, and it's clear MANY people love being integrated into their system, which has some automated bits that definitely make budgeting "easier," but I like Ye Olde Spreadsheet. Having to input every purchase keeps me accountable, I feel. Also it sometimes discourages me from spending money, haha, which is probably a good thing in the long run.
idk. I'm a huge advocate for budgeting. I know it can be really hard for some people, but I sincerely think there's some budgeting method out there that will work for you, you know? I credit my budget spreadsheets for keeping my head above water during the many times where money was/is tight. Knowledge is power and all that.
Not to sound like a #girlboss shilling my financial advice on tiktok (of which there are too many), but being aware of where your money is going is sincerely the biggest, most important step you can take towards building financial safety for yourself. My budget saved my ass this last year.
If you have any other questions, shoot them my way. I know it can seem daunting, but I totally think it's worth it! <3

misc sweeney hcs
(disclaimer. i am new-ish here and have no idea how popular/prevalent any of these are go easy on me ok. also a lot of these are dadben related wh o o p s)
i've seen some variance of if this is canon in fics and stuff but i really do like the idea of the barkers also living above the pie shop in addition to the barbershop being there. similar situation w the pie shop/lovett living quarters. ig it's just easier to picture in my head then????
(p sure the b*rton film confirms smth like this but i'm ignoring it bc i don't like that guy. this idea is mine now)
part of the reason i like this so much is it means that benjamin barker had all the more time to have lovely moments with lucy and johanna when he wasn't busy with clients
(this also makes sweeney returning there without them all the more painful. if he sits and doesn't do anything then he's flooded by memories of the life he had in those same walls fifteen years ago. like no wonder sweeney's so bent out of shape by being forced to wait for the judge and the beadle to come to him)
johanna had only JUST started walking when ben was transported. he was so excited and happy and loved to try and assist her, encouraging her to take steps holding his hands. chattering away about her with any customer that would listen, perhaps even showing her off ("look at my jo! she's such a fine girl!" "i'm sure she is, mr. barker, but could you please finish shaving me?")
he bought johanna a little lacy bonnet when she was a week old. she didn't need something so fancy at such a young age, and lucy had already sewn her a few bonnets months prior. it wasn't the most sound financial decision he ever made. but oh, his girl just had to have it, and it's a little big, she could grow into it! (lucy admits she looks very cute with it on, even though she says johanna doesn't need it)
(the bonnet is left forgotten in a drawer somewhere for years, until sweeney opens that particular drawer and finds it gathering dust upon his return. he feels sick seeing it, reminding him again how much he missed. then he puts it back and refuses to give it any mind.)
nellie lovett was infuriated by lucy barker in that way that you can't quite pinpoint why you're mad other than they're "too perfect" or "too pretty" or something. ofc there was the fact she was married to ben, but i think there was a little "get out of my school" energy going on there too
idk exactly how lucy ended up on the street (or in bedlam, as lovett says in the finale) but i do think that nellie was, sadly, at least complicit in inaction to stop this from happening (if not having thrown her out herself)
anthony is the sweetest dude around and genuinely loves johanna. doesn't matter that he barely knows her when he says he'd marry her, he knows that he's going to be happy as long as she is
johanna loves him too, and she's surprised by it. not because of anything to do with anthony, but because she's felt so little real love in her life (that she can remember). it's a wonderful and frightening rush looking at him, sometimes, but then he squeezes her hand, or does something silly, or even just sneezes or clears his throat and she's brought back down to reality, in a good way. that anthony is real, and human like her. she doesn't have to "earn" his love by being utterly perfect.
they get out of london basically as soon as they can, just wanting to leave it all behind, at least for a while
it took a little time and arguing but anthony did end up getting a good sum of money from the judge's death, through johanna's inheritance going to her husband (him). they immediately used this money to finance travel. they both love to travel, anthony promising to show her the beauty of the world that, still, cannot rival her in his eyes
this is all i got that's coherent rn really lol. anyway here you go sweeney todd fans who liked/reblogged my post haha @demonbarberofbeepbeep @captains-clever-goose @little-lovett @fabulousairpirate @funnygirlthatbelle

list of ocs in my crimes canon:
oof okay so this took a While lmao. I hope to keep this list handy because it's easier for me to explore these characters once they're written on paper.
There are two categories: 'the recurring cast' who make cameos in fics and' 'potential crossovers' that I still wrote down, but not sure how it might "feel" like. I also have a third category - 'one-offs' as in they're mentioned but you don't see them everm but they're just only 2-3 characters and their stories are already over, so... I dunno lmao. Maybe I'll make a different list and add those guys in.
recurring cast:
Buddy "Bull" Bager (he/him, 45): Nora's number one contact for anything to do with famous people. Bull's been in many social circles - from being a concierge at fancy hotels to driving around celebrities and he's got all the insider information. He's strong, was a big name in underground street fighting rings but now wants to settle down and start businesses he's passionate about - ranging from a mechanic shop to a bakery. Got his nickname "Bull" because he once wore a t-shirt that had a picture of one, once.
Skilner (he/him, 63): Ex-drug supplier turned janitor for literally any place imaginable. He's good with names and addresses and doesn't forget people easily, which makes him a great contact if you're looking for someone on a more domestic level. Pretty old, so doesn't fight much. He has a niece whom he loves very much and would move mountains for. He aspires to put his old life behind him and really work to being a normal guy, get an education if he can afford it somewhere down the road.
Mx. TJ (they/them, 29): Former bank robber - well not exactly in the way you'd expect - but yes, they did bypass the security system just to tell the authorities how stupid their security system really was. Now TJ doesn't do it all that much since they and their team are on the run. If Luke can get through security tapes, TJ can barrel through government servers. They usually have a 'scratch my back and ill scratch yours' way of payment, so Nora would usually have to supply them information or run errands on behalf of them. TJ also takes cases on a 'dire' basis, meaning Nora can't just contact them to look up xyz unless it is an absolute emergency.
Officer Jillian (she/they, 32): Jillian was Nora's coworker at the 53rd precinct and still works there. They keep her updated on all happenings within the NYPD and beyond. Jillian also has many friends in restaurant circles, so she's the one to go for, if you're ever looking for recommendations or if you're looking to track down a person's tastes in cuisine. Nora actually learned of Ricochet's taste in this particular hollandaise sauce that they served in the Sensation En Bouche thanks to Jillian doing her homework on high profile criminals and where they usually go. They're also the first to call out on Nora's bullshit in the sparse moments they hang out.
Monty Jackson (he/him, 31): Monty was very close to Trystan since he was one of the latter's very first friends in New York. Monty runs a small sandwich shop with his college friends Lee and Todd. He doesn't know what he wants to do with life, but will gladly help you out with yours. He isn't much of an informant or anything - can't do much for you, but like Skilner, he's pretty good with names and addresses and has built up a connection over the years from sourcing supplies over the years. However he's a bit of a crook, doesn't know what he talks about, will talk out of his ass and is a pain to deal with, but if you know how to talk to him, he'd tell you how to win at life.
Lenny "Lee" Yamada (he/him, 29): Trystan's other close friend. Lee is the brains of the sandwich shop. He's a committed person, dedicated, loves his job and wants to earn money so he could put himself through culinary school. Despite Monty minoring in economics, Lee knows more about the market than he does and he didn't even finish college. Lee's super into research and he's pretty efficient at scouring the web for answers, thanks to his experience hunting down old blogs and broken links and salvage recipes. If it's on the web, it cannot fly under his radar. Lee was chronically online before "chronically online" became a thing.
Samaya G. Pallan (she/her, 21): Samaya is a barista/assistant manager in the coffee house across the street from the Ginovesi Agency. She's good friends with all the four of them, given they're regulars but exceptionally close with Ruby. She is a music student, very good at identifying musical notes and being able to tell you where you're likely to be - as in, where you live, where you are at your current position in life, where you'd like to be and so on - solely from your taste in music. She does this thing where she likes to judge people and embody being a hater for funsies by allowing people to suggest their playlists for the music in the coffee shop. She was able to read through Luke's little crush on Ruby from what he played in the shop.
Kimia Ahktar (she/her, 27): Kimia runs an Art Conservatory - one that teaches art as well as runs programs to "conserve" pieces of old art. Her family came from a long line of painters and artisans, especially her great-grandfather who was a prominent artist during his time. Kimia and Sonja Dormer ran in the same social circles, with Sonja usually putting up her work when Kimia's Conservatory conducted art shows. They weren't close, since Kimia didn't really want to be a part of this "academia" of elite for-profit people. She met Trystan (and Nora) when she learned her great grandfather's work had been forged. Kimia's made many enemies in the art society in the past, which is why she's quite weary about talking to new people and likes to keep to herself.
Isac Zamfir (they/he, 48): One of Trystan's old contacts, Izaak works as a librarian in the Romanian embassy in Drakovia . They have a degree in metallurgy and are pretty close with museum directors and cultural ambassadors - especially an avid financial contributor to the Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum among many other heritage sites. Isac's background in metallurgy and current venture into gemology puts them at a valuable position where they're able to assist in retrieving stolen museum artefacts back to their homelands. He and Trystan have been close thanks to their shared interests, thanks to attending many dinner parties in lieu of his engagement to Juliana Georgescu. In fact it was Isac who cultivated Trystan's interest in jewelry and Trystan who'd consulted them for assistance to find ways to get more funding into museums once he gets coronated.
Aizan "Kaz" Tso (he/him, 34): Aizan is a friend of Mafalda's. He runs a bookshop/novelty shop who sometimes dabbles in metalworking and plaque-making. Mafalda basically took him in as her own kid like how she did with Nora -- helping him get through college, get him safe gender-affirming surgery and assisted him as he got himself some financial stability. Kaz majored in manufacturing and design engineering and really wanted to set up his own additive manufacturing business and combine his love for comic books somehow. He runs his own shop, selling books and figurines of characters he made and is the guy behind the 'best detective/employee' plaque the Agency made into a quarterly tradition. He does so as a thank-you to Mafalda. Kaz is also super into pop culture, so he sometimes helps the gang out when they require his expertise.
potential crossovers:
Inam Vallath (laws of attraction-ish? | she/her, 34): Inam is an intellectual property lawyer. She majored in mechanical engineering in undergrad, with a minor in art history before switching over to IP law. Now she majorly works with entrepreneurs in the domain of protecting their brand, protecting their work from infringement and detecting it. She gets a pool of clients from mostly the automobile or tech industry, publishing and sometimes the art fields. It's usually trickier for her to deal with art, which is why she goes by the books and tries to get a complete story as much as possible. She currently works as a junior associate at Brahms & Partners, IP. Inam works with Nora on Kimia's case to aid her in the discovery process. They kind of start developing a more serious partnership later on.
Ramona "Rowan" Stone (murder at homecoming | she/her, 19): Rowan is an aspiring investigative journalist from Beachwood who started on this path after her sister, Perdita went missing. She goes on to major in journalism in New York and gets a part-time job as a writer for a small up-and-coming digital newspaper/blog to pay for her expenses. During her time gaining experience in the field, she stumbles on old allegations for the NYPD's internal corruption and decides to report on it; only to have her be a massive target planted by none other than the 53rd precinct and Captain Thompson. This is around the time Rowan meets Nora who tells her to keep calm and helps her deal with the matter. Later, Nora and Rowan forge a new partnership. Nora helps Rowan finish her article without any turbulence. She was a big influence on Rowan and her motivation to go pursue the truth. Eventually Rowan would do her internship at The Styrne Examiner.
Aloka Sinott (veil of secrets | she/her, 35): Aloka earned her big break from helping solve the mystery of the Birchport killer. However she didn't return back to the New York Herald or take up a job offer with the FBI. She was offered a place in a non-profit investigative journalist organization - The Styrne Examiner based in New York, who also put out articles. They collaborate with major news organizations and are committed to bring back valiant journalism and commit to the truth. Aloka works on a lot of different projects but gives a lot of priority to training young interns. This is where she met Rowan and took her under her wing; helping her hone her craft and build up her experience in the field. The two of them became good friends solely due to their pasts. Rowan was able to connect with Aloka and how she dealt with a missing persons case involving Kate.
Morgan Horowitz/Hayes (the unexpected heiress (modern day) | they/them, 29): Morgan is the descendant of the Hayes family - known for their influence in the electrical power industry based in New York. They got into corporate law and currently are working in the business's R&D division to come up with more sustainable technology measures. They're a well-known person especially to Trystan since the Hayes-Horowitz family had long been an avid supporter of the arts and were generous to Ruth Iverson's once-upon-a-time charity. Morgan's family is also a long-term client to Brahms & Partners IP. They basically helped Inam skyrocket her career after choosing her to represent them and aid them when a smaller company copied the design of a new sustainable wind turbine and filed the patent under their name. It was also Inam's first ever case and Morgan's first ever dealing of such a case as a manager and the two handled it pretty well.
Reyna "Rusty" Jones (open heart-ish | she/her, 34): Nora and Rusty were childhood friends who grew up on the same block in Manhattan. Rusty got her name from being well, a take-charge no-nonsense rough person and went on to leave home to go to medical school in supposedly Boston or Boston-adjacent(??) She did her internship and residency at Mass Kenmore before transferring to a more research-oriented hospital (about this time Mass Ken and Edenbrook may have had their feud and she was tired). Rusty and Nora aren't super in contact w each other but since they were such big part of each other's lives for a long time, they still text each other as much as they can or if they're reminded to. There was this one point where Nora didn't have Ruby or Luke's assistance and had to make do with Rusty's expertise on a case. I HC Nora might get involved in Rusty's life - either by offering her some professional help or just getting her out of a sticky situation. I don't know Rusty's story yet or what she ends up doing but hopefully I get to mull it over and come back later with an answer.
one-offs
Gustav Cvejić: Trystan's childhood friend-turned-boyfriend, Gustav is pretty headstrong. he's constantly getting into fights, he lives in a rough part of town and met Trystan when they went to the same primary school. After Trystan got pulled out of school to be homeschooled, Gustav still made it a priority to visit him in the palace. It thankfully worked considering his father was a wholesale vendor who supplied grain and flour to the palace. Gustav, thanks to his upbringing is more aware of the social happenings in the country as opposed to Trystan who had been sheltered for most of his life. It is in fact, Gustav offered him insight by helping him navigate this new life as a would-be king, offering him good advice and introducing new music to him.
He grew up in a very anti-monarchist household and developed the same beliefs after learning what was really out there. Thanks to this and his association with Trystan being known to Viktoria one day and all these years of secret-keeping, she tries her hardest to persuade Trystan, but decided to just simply stop her business with Gustav's father. To add further to the wound, she ensured the family was cut of any ties to the palace but at the same time, treated them as well, kings.
She gave Mr Cvejić a visa for Gustav to study abroad- she basically cornered them in a stalemate in exchange for their loyalty. Viktoria had to pull in a lot of strings because she believed Trystan was being "influenced" when in reality, he was just developing critical thinking skills from having a friend/boyfriend, you get the idea. This led to him developing a resentment for his own mother. Gustav's father sent him away to get an education abroad and that's the last they heard from the other. Even before Trystan could think about Gustav, he was whisked away to a new life preparing for his coronation.
Gustav has had a tough childhood. His father was a single parent and had dreamed for his son to take up the family business as a wholesaler, but wanting him to first get into a good school. They didn't make a lot of money, so when the opportunity presented itself, he sent Gustav away to America. He'd go on to study economics and would eventually come back home to settle down, but with a lingering hollowness he'd trace back to his past. Gustav and Trystan do end up reconciling someday in the future - perhaps when they meet again, because you just didn't let go of special people like that, but it's far away for now.
They'd lost contact after Viktoria's puppeteering, thus creating a sour taste of Trystan in Gustav's mouth and an absolute vile hatred for his mother in Trystan's heart. It never fails to go away.
Aneesa Wang: Aneesa was a postgrad student when she met Nora when the latter worked in the NYPD. Aneesa at that time, was an immigrant student on a visa as well. She'd come from Hong Kong to do her master's in New York along with her other friends. Aneesa's quiet, determined and pretty savvy. One day they all make a collective mistake by accidentally stumbling into an underground criminal gang looking for a quick weed fix. Aneesa's name is taken into their account at the time of purchase, but since neither of them could afford anything high-quality, they offered to pay it in installments -- only to come back home, say "fuck it" and not do that anymore.
After a couple of warnings, Aneesa's name and info quickly became an easy way for the underground guys to use as a "fall guy" contact. Suddenly she's receiving hundreds of calls, thousands of death threats, mysterious text messages. She literally stopped going to classes, afraid that someone might know something. It was Aneesa's first time in America, mind you. She'd gotten involved with the wrong people and she was so freaking scared. So she met Nora, covered in sweat and dirt - trying to scrub her name off credit cards and lists and using cold cash to get by. Aneesa's broke, terrified and Nora was her only hope.
Nora helped her out. She gave her shelter in her home, accompanied her to her classes - would basically sit outside her classes decked out in normal clothes but with her holster visible for everyone to see. By night, she'd try her best to track down these guys. It was around this time she'd discovered the so-called 'underground gang' was really composed of dirty cops - some even from her precinct, which made her stumble onto a huge corruption scandal. She tried to notify the higher-ups about it, with no avail. Aneesa wasn't going to get justice not when they were both fighting against horrible people.
Eventually, Aneesa had to drop out. Nora insisted the only way out was to leave the country because it got so dangerous that Aneesa was on every 'wanted by the police' list because she was technically a fall guy. Nora spent a long time thoroughly wiping away her data, ensuring she could somehow transfer her current uni credits to a college back home so she didn't have to worry about discontinuing her education and had to literally help her make a daring escape on a cruise ship heading for Spain and then get her tickets back home via plane.
Nora and Aneesa had a very brief relationship (?) to say the least. It wasn't really of the romantic pursuit but somewhere where they could both confide in each other and be able to trust the other- given Aneesa had spent weeks living in Nora's apartment before she left home. This was a major catalyst in Nora quitting the force. Literally the day after Aneesa left, Nora turned in her resignation letter.
As for if they're still in contact? It's tough to say. Nora does email her from time to time, but she can't afford to have it on the record since well, Aneesa's still a wanted person even though the case ran cold. They try to check in from time to time. Nora also firmly believed the theory that the 'underground gang' might have something to do with her father's death. Aneesa, as a thank-you, used to send back packages of little trinkets and things from home. Nora still has some of it on her desk.
Vinko Novac: Vinko was Trystan's old tutor from when he was a teenager and ever since his mother pulled him out of school. Vinko started off as trying to want to get a formidable job in the palace - since manning a government office as a clerk is practically the last resort-job option if you can't get in any other place. Vinko kind of stumbled his way into the royal family's affairs by being a speechwriter for Trystan for a while before he was moved up the ranks to become a de-facto "helper" of some sort where he'd just assist the prince with more than just speechwriting - it was a bit of everything, but mostly inclined towards academia.
Viktoria wasn't picky with her tutor options - she knew it was a thankless job with no takers. Vinko had a decent college degree, so he was kind of an interim tutor of sorts until they could find Trystan a proper tutor/mentor of some kind. Vinko's presence in Trystan's life was short, but he was the only one to make a more lasting impact. He taught Trys everything he knew now - the deviant tricks, the confidence, the poise, the 'how to talk like you know what you're talking about' - along with cultivating this inert curiosity in him to ask as many questions as he'd like. The worst part was, Vinko believed he was an actual tutor, when in reality Viktoria really intended for him to keep her son company and was quick to let him go once they found a foreign academic to teach him and learned he was just a crook who'd shimmied his way in just to make some money.
Trystan actually ended up encouraging Vinko to pursue a teaching degree if he really wanted to. But he ended up not doing that, just quietly leaving - hoping he'd made some impact because it was the first time he'd cared about something - a job, even though it was frivolous as "babysitting". He didn't find much success doing much else, just ended up getting berated by his father - a scriptwriter - only to just simply carry on with whatever he felt like doing.
Vinko's story is pretty sad, because he knows he wouldn't find that satisfaction. He felt like he'd just touched upon people's lives - but not wholly a person himself and can never feel that way - just doomed to this 'temporary appearance' box. He'd continue to stay in Drakovia, following through with Trystan for a while before getting sick of it very quickly. He'd try to move to the suburbs - maybe start a new life someplace else, but it would still be of no avail. He, much like his father, is doomed to being his own worst critic. Never more than the sum of his parts, just relying on dumb luck to get through. Vinko would find a career, nonetheless - a successful one (remember that one hugh jackman meme where he recognizes his former student?) but this would keep digging into his brain for years to come.

Please send me some asks about these guys! I'd love to talk about them and get to know them if I ever plan on writing crossovers.
I remember I wrote an Open Heart/Crimes of Passion crossover a long long time ago. It didn't work out because I was trying so hard to make it follow canon. Now I reject canon.
Thanks for.. reading until here lmao. you're a real one.
Until then I'll just keep editing and adding as I go.

Progression - Chapter 25 Preview
Like his brothers, Kinn has made more of a point to distance himself from his father. He has had to do it more gradually. He has been the heir for almost half his life, and the active head for a little two. His relationship with Pa is different. He may have never been Pa’s favorite - in fact, he suspects that he is likely the lowest ranked in that regard. While Pa had been frustrated by both Khun’s and Kim’s long-term defiance, it earned them a respect that Kinn simply couldn’t obtain. Khun had held that top spot for ages, with his perfect grades, record breaking test scores, precise aim, and a charisma that always worked in his favor, even after his kidnapping and subsequent breakdown. Not bouncing back from that trauma knocked Khun from his top spot of favorite son. But while Khun’s title went to Kinn, his favoritism got passed down to Kim. Kim was still little, yet held more talent in his pinky than Kinn had in his entire body.
Kinn didn't question it much because of that. He had a lot going on in his head, and he is sure the blow ups that happened during that transition year didn’t leave him in Pa’s good graces for a while, especially when Khun was struggling so much after the kidnapping and everything that happened to him during that time. Kinn displaying behaviors on top of that had been unwelcome and likely resented until they stopped. And Kinn made a point of doing that in order to be the perfect son. Sometimes it felt like enough, whenever Pa approved of the changes and praised him. And sometimes, Kinn never felt like he could reach expectations that were never supposed to be set for him in the first place. He has come to understand that they are. He wouldn't have become the head if his position of heir had just been temporary. But even now, he sometimes feels like everything he has done for Pa and their family isn't enough.
Maybe especially now.
“You just haven't been on top of things lately,” Pa says after he explains his decision, the genuine disappointment and questionable concern lacing his tone.
“Business has been good,” Kinn says, “Our stocks and investments are all looking great. We are doing fine-”
“We are plateauing,” Pa cuts in bluntly.
“We’re not,” Kinn tells him, “Just because we aren't currently expanding businesses or taking on new deals and territories, doesn't mean-”
“You and Porsche already decided to step away from the old minor family deals,” Pa continues, “That was enough of a loss. I understand Porsche wanting distance himself from the…less legitimate deals. But they brought in a lot of money that we no longer have.”
Pa being upset about halting their involvement in the weapons trade and the distribution of harder drugs tells him one thing: that Uncle Gun and Vegas had both been telling the truth. That they did the dirtier deals because the major family expected and demanded it. Since Kinn had never demanded it from either of them, he can only assume the demands came from Pa.
“Porsche closed that lucrative deal with the dispensaries,” Kinn tells him, “We are now the sole manufacturers and distributors of marijuana in the country, and it is being sold legally through them.”
That makes him wonder if Pol buys his weed at a dispensary. It would just be easier if he asked Porsche for a bag from the next shipment. It's not something that Kinn should encourage, considering Pol gave a little to Khun at least once, but-
“While that was smart, it is taxed. Products that are available under the law have to be regulated. The products that aren't allow more flexibility because we decide on the regulations. It allows for international trade that is not monitored by the government.”
Kinn purses his lips and looks away, “It also has a history of being more dangerous.”
“We have guards for a reason.”
“And we have lost guards for a reason,” Kinn says, his voice more rough. He doesn't know if pointing that out is a good thing or not. On the one hand, Pa has cared about some of the guards. He has paid for some of their children to go to college, he has let them go with full retirement benefits once they got older, hurt too badly to do everything the job required, or faced psychological repercussions. A few have even been regarded as family by him, Chan being the most recent. He earned a spot in their family plot.
He also ended up in that hole because Pa faked his death and triggered an attack.
“I have actually been meaning to talk to you about the guards,” Pa says, sounding pleasant enough, “I have taken on a couple of my own now that I will be coming out of retirement-”
“Pa, you really don't have to do that,” Kinn says, “Everything is fine and we are safe. We have more money than most do. I don't understand where this is coming from.”
Pa stays silent for a moment and meets his gaze, “You have made questionable decisions. You took three months off-”
“Because Kim was sick, healing, and needed support.”
“And I understand taking those first couple of weeks off to be there for him,” Pa says, his voice gentle, “But you are not his father. I am retired, and Tankhun isn't fit to work. We could have easily handled it without you. I also feel like that amount of time off clouded your ability to effectively do the job. It made you…softer. You lost your edge.”
Kinn doesn't know what to say to that. It just reminds him of that apple analogy Pa gave him when he took that bullet for Porsche. He didn't know what to say back then either.
“The guards don't seem to change their disposition when you walk through a room anymore,” Pa says, “I worried they are losing respect for you.”
“...I don't really think that is it,” Kinn says quietly, “I just think things are…different now. We don't have Uncle Gun coming in and causing tension. Porsche has a good rapport with the guards in both buildings overall, so does Chay-”
“No surprise there,” Pa mutters. Kinn doesn't even know what he means, but he doesn't like Pa’s tone. He lets it go.
“It just…Keeping them safe should be important, especially after what happened,” Kinn says, “We bought the bulletproof vests for everyone despite the lowered risk. But the ones who survived the attack and stayed loyal to us should be reassured that they are valued and cared for.”
“...Sure,” Pa says slowly, “But you have become too casual with a couple of the guards recently. I don't think that's a good idea.”
Kinn swallows and looks away, “I was close with a few guards before what happened to Kim. Before the attack. Big, for instance. We got along really well, and I cared for him.”
Although, not like Big cared for him. Big’s devotion and affection for him was something Kinn purposely never examined too closely. It was only something he really thought about after everything happened and Porsche transitioned into his new role. When it started to bother him and he went to Khun to talk it out, Khun gently but bluntly confirmed his suspicions. He confirmed that Big saved Porsche, all so Kinn wouldn't get his heart shattered again.
While he is so grateful that Big saved Porsche, he wishes it hadn't cost him his life.
They should have had the bulletproof vests before. Why did Pa never provide those for them?
“Your relationship with Big was a lot like my relationship with Chan,” Pa says thoughtfully, “A friendship was present, but the roles were clear. He still served and addressed you formally, as Chan did for me. They both gave their lives for our family’s cause.”
They shouldn’t have had to. But Kinn doesn't say that. He figures Pa probably knows as much anyway, whether he wants to admit it or not.
“However, they have passed, and I am not here to talk about them anyway,” Pa continues, “I was referring to Arm and Pol.”
“What about them?”
“I have heard them refer to you casually recently,” Pa says, “While they have been here for a while, that isn't acceptable. You need to make sure they know that.”
Kinn squirms in his seat, “That would probably be confusing for them, since I told them they could.”
Pa’s expression hardens, “May I ask why?”
“...They're family, Pa,” Kinn says, “They have worked for us for several years, and I knew Arm prior to that. Plus, they are the two guards who actually prefer working for Khun. Previous guards have underminded that position, but not them. They care for him so much and are the closest friends Khun has had in years, considering he struggled with agoraphobia until three years ago. Tay and Time would spend time with him, but-”
“Tay and Time being friends with him is appropriate. Not his guards,” Pa says, “I will admit that his mental health has improved since obtaining Arm and Pol as his guards. I don't think reassigning both is necessary. Pol seems more suited towards a caretaking position, anyway. Having guards such as him is useful if there is an illness in the family, or if you and Porsche decide to have children. Until either occur, I see no need to remove him from your brother’s coverage, and someone experienced with Tankhun’s…challenges should be on his team anyway.”
Kinn breathes out, “Arm is also great with Tankhun. He and Pol make a great team. Pol is good when it comes to empathy and distraction, Arm is good with reasoning and comfort. I think both are suited for him.”
“That may be true, but Arm’s skill set deserves to be utilized elsewhere,” Pa says, “It is very impressive. It was even prior to his recruitment. He should be on one of our teams so it is properly utilized.”
“I disagree,” Kinn says, shaking his head, “I think it's important that he stay with Khun so he is put in less danger. If you were staying retired, then I wouldn't mind the thought of Arm being transferred to your team. But you say you aren't, and he is the guard we should be protecting the most so we don't lose such a valuable employee. Besides, I have offered him a spot on my team in the past. So have you. While he has gone on a lot of missions, provided coverage, and covered plans for security plans and deals, he has declined a permanent spot since he prefers working with Khun.”
“That's why I think the decision needs to be made for him.”
“He is the head guard. We gave him Chan's position. He deserves the first choice on assignments. After everything he has done for us, he deserves to have those choices respected.”
Pa hums, then nods his head thoughtfully, “Maybe under more professional circumstances. But I have a feeling that Arm’s attachment to your brother is not a professional one, nor is your brother’s attachment to him.”
Kinn pauses at that, “What are you talking about?”
“Call it a father’s intuition,” Pa says, then holds up his hands, “I have no solid proof, but some of their more recent actions towards each other is telling me that they are crossing a boundary, one that is in place for multiple reasons. Of course, you have crossed that boundary in the past with Porsche, back when you were sneaking around. But that was different. You are different. If I am right about this and Tankhun is expecting any potential relationship to eventually be treated similarly to yours, then he is mistaken.”

time to qsmp talk
theres multiple things about the new server that i do enjoy i love the new mods and i mean lootr is so awesome for dungeons and theres a lot more cool blocks and decorations to build with and i think bounties are actually fun to give people stuff to do and i love the new world and everyone starting from zero and new builds.
but theres also the cons! i truly would not have minded the economy system if it wasnt so invasive to the gameplay. i dont mind “money” being established when it comes to buying silly things like cosmetics or the plushies or generally things that dont impede you being unable to craft. i understand why everything is behind a paywall, i get it, they want to really promote this system and get the players involved but its such a drastic shift from being able to simply craft a waystone.. to having to pay for every single one you want. it’s rough. it dont see the point really in having a mod in the game but locking it behind money and removing essentially its utility to the players. with every con though theres pros like its interesting to see how players develop transportation for themselves to get around easier i mean points towards foolish have you ever seen a man so dedicated to breeding fast horses. but again that doesnt lessen the unfortunate aspect of waystones, warpstones, and such being less available.
i dont see the point in putting the nether behind a paywall i dont get why they have to grind for it as if they havent waited long enough and tried millions of things go get the nether already. its odd. though again i think these choices make sense in the story like the island is being run by a new character mr bunny and he’s obsessed with money so it makes sense for the players to live in this capitalistic hellscape where they need to even pay to teleport. i think it reinforces the power and imbalance between the federation and the islanders. they thought they had it bad but they continue to make their lives worse. i think all of this works actually really well in the story my issue is that when you look at it from any other lens its not fun. it feels unnecessary and forced onto the players, which again makes sense in the story, to partake in. idk i think if the admins wanted to delay the nether being opened then they couldve just done that without the collective spending. it feels really weird. i always wanted the nether opening to be this cool grand lore moment but it feels like its just going to be “woo u wasted money congrats here u go” not nearly as thrilling as if the players idk uncovered information from the federation and the bunnies and found a way to make a permanent functioning portal that would lead to this opening moment.
the whole thing with the coins is such a shame because i wanted it to be good but as of right now it doesnt bode well with me. also makes me question what about all the players duck coins they had earned prior to the reset? where did those go? once they go back to their old builds can they deposit that money?
i wouldnt even say earning coins is hard like the admins have offered a variety of ways to get coins my main issue is all the things behind these payments with the coins. i dont get the nerf with waystones i dont get why. i dont know. i’d like to have a genuine chat with the admins over what the future of the smp looks like to them and what their aim is with all these features. i want to understand better so im able to watch and know what the point is before simply criticizing ignorantly. but im sure they’ve received a lot of negativity already and i dont want them to be discouraged. im just honestly curious like the beginning of purgatory was confusing and jarring but once we got the premise of what it is and what its purpose is meant to be in relation to the server i personally ended up enjoying it throughly.
anyways peace and love on planet earth ily admins and qsmp team (please set us free)

While many mech pilots are so physically and mentally wrecked that their "retirement" life is catatonic misery, some of them crab bucket their way into the handler position.
Mercenary pilot: I HAVE MADE ENOUGH MONEY TO ESCAPE DEBT. NOW TO WRECK SOMEONE ELSE TO EARN MONEY FOR ME!!!
Some handlers really hate the idea of considering an ex-pilot an equal, so the viability of this path in any organization depends heavily on the handler clique at the organization.
Rimbaud: Well, if I can't pilot now that the M3 SABAV is being replaced with an incompatible system to my augments, maybe I can be a handler. Hummel: We are not and never will be equals, pet.
Pilots-turned-handlers are never milquetoast.
You're either gonna get 15 new mental illnesses in the name of being the best pilot alive (lesbianism optional... maybe...) or you're going to get a fucked-up person's vision of "nice."
Depends if the pilot-turned-handler is closer to the "I got fucked up and survived and so can you!" end or the "I will protect them from all danger as I wish my handler had done for me" end.
Once in a while, these two concepts are somehow the same thing in the minds of a pilot-turned-handler and woe upon the pilot they manage.
Not sure if Valkyrie Corp mercenaries tend towards being female, but it is funny to consider that Penis King never had a penis as a human either. It just took that call sign because it likes killing people and the Penis King call sign is very attention-grabbing.
Call signs working under "you can kill people to take their call sign" is possibly the worst way to handle call signs without invoking 300 levels of paperwork hell, but mercenaries are always looking for an excuse to destroy rivals like bored Napoleonic Frenchmen craving sword duels.
Some handlers don't like risking their pilots and their expensive mechs for no money in fights over call signs and try to avoid their pilot hearing about duelling challenges.
Other handlers consider it a good way to practice real combat when in-between contracts and argue that having a hella good call sign makes it easier to get mentioned specifically when a mercenary corp is called up for a job. A client is going to be a lot more excited when someone with a badass reputation can be sent in compared to a fresh newbie trapped in hell with an idiotic call sign like Doofus.
Tumblr media
Penis King is one of the top earners at Valkyrie Corp which is why the company puts up with its eccentricities including being a slightly illegal transhumanist. Lawyers have been in arguments for decades over whether or not a human brain upload counts as human still and it's a legal gray area. Penis King doesn't really care about money and doing taxes as long as Valkyrie Corp keeps its mech in good condition and securing contracts because it loves nothing besides deadly combat.
Kaczka has the call sign Duck because she often goes on sorties with Penis King and they are P.King and Duck on the company leaderboard. Kaczka also means "duck" and you ought to get out of her way when she comes barrelling in.
Kaczka doesn't get into many fights for her call sign since it sounds kind of stupid (she will beat the crap out of you if you make a "Sitting Duck" joke) and Penis King tends to absorb the attention, but she still has a strong reputation due to being a more than competent wingwoman.
Penis King has attachments for walking about when not on a mission, but it prefers being carried by Kaczka.

Imma done with duskwood lmao 😂 Too long waiting, I wrote my own ending and now I lost interest in duskwood xD I know they are a small group of developers but they must realize their fandom is slowly dying :( It's sad but it is the truth 🥺 I see so many duskwood writer going quiet or writing OG works....
Well, that's very sad. But I don't think the fandom is dying. Not at all. First of all, it's January, trust me when I tell you, it's always very quiet in January. It's a stressful time. While December for example is more way more active. People have more time and winter makes more people to stay at home etc. It's not unusual for this time. Nevertheless, I do understand a bit what you mean. Of course we're waiting for Moonvale for a longer time now, but I think it's understandable. At least, I was expecting a long time for it to come out.
And I'm pretty sure they're aware of it... I see enough people starting to hate on them, leaving mean comments on Instagram etc. They know we're all waiting and they also know people become more and more inpatient. And I guess it's for them as hard as it is for us. I don't know what is going on there at Everbyte, but I'm very sure if they could they would work faster. But I think they already use every possible second to work on it. I mean, for them it's their income, their way to earn money, I don’t think they can just put Moonvale aside and chill, haha. Maybe they even have a second job, I don’t know, we don't know about the circumstances. I'm repeating myself, but I am convinced that this situation is difficult for Everbyte as well. And I don’t think they themselves expected it to take that long.
Still, I understand what you’re saying and how you mean it, but now, I think losing interest in things is normal. It happens all the time. And especially since Duskwood has been finished for quite some time now, the hype disappears at some point, but with luck it comes back. I mean, have you ever watched a movie you really liked but then you had to wait 3 or 4 or even more years for the second part? You’re not as excited about the movie every single day as you were the first time. You wait, maybe you lose interest in time, as I said, it’s normal. When the film is released, when it is finally ready, the joy often comes back. The movie was released and then you can decide if you want to watch it anyway, if it is worth trying, or if you are not interested anymore. Both is possible. Of course it's sad if you're absolutely done with it but it's simply normal and I don't think you can do anything about it.
And whether there is a connection between Moonvale and the more frequent occurrence of original works that I can not judge. I rather think it's simply because it's way easier to reach people with writing fanfiction. So, you can write fanfiction, write things you enjoy a lot and then you're interested in writing something made by yourself from top to bottom. You already reached some people so if you're lucky, maybe they will also be interested in an original work. I know many writers who simply never dared to publish original stories. But if one persons starts to publish their work other might get the missing courage to do it as well.
And yes, it’s also true that many Duskwood writers don’t post that much anymore. Of course, it will also be due to the fact that everyone’s joy and the excitement decreases a little after a while. Just like it happened with you. And that's okay as well. But I can also tell you that some people don’t read as many Duskwood fanfictions as before, which can be very demotivating for writer. But it’s also that the time we live in is nothing but hectic and exhausting. So much is going on. Everyone has so much stress. Health problems became much more present. Time is simply the enemy for many, the exhaustion does not allow people to write because something else is always going on. But in every other fandom it is no different, absolutely not. But because the Duskwood fandom is so much smaller it just stands out much faster. It's much more visible.
It's just a hard time in general. :/
Please don’t get my words wrong. I don't want to sound mean or rude or anything. Really. And I do understand what you mean and sometimes I even feel similar. It's a pity you're feeling this way by now but as I said, it's nothing unusual. It's sad when you lose things that used to bring you happiness but I think you can do nothing about it. I just hope at some point your excitement will be back and maybe you're even going to play Moonvale. I think it is not good to force yourself to like something if you have really lost interest. And instead of Duskwood and moonvale, I hope you find something else to enjoy. 💚
Still, thank you a lot for sending this ask and especially for sharing your thoughts with me/us. It means a lot to me. And I hope the 'situation' will improve for you again. I hope you're doing good so far. Please take always care of yourself and stay healthy and safe. Have a good day/evening/night. 💚💚
