Stiles Stilinski x fem!Reader
[1.3k words] To you and Stiles, being forced to share a motel room during a school trip seems like a much bigger catastrophe than facing the supernatural.
Tumblr media
Your bags sat in the corner of the the room and simmers in the spite that soaks the air. The window was cracked open and, every once in a while, you’d wish to throw yourself from it. At least it’d save you from the greater horrors that would catch up to you eventually: sharing a bed with Stiles Stilinski.
He’d somehow managed to go half the evening without looking at you, though he had to share a seat with you on the bus ride to the gloomy motel. In truth, it was a superpower you both shared, ignoring the obvious in that way—a person in the same room or a feeling taking up all the space in the world. You dealt with both. You didn’t discriminate.
Following the day’s heavy events, you’d decided to take a shower and was drying your hair by the time Stiles came back in the room, closing the door soundlessly behind him. You’d dropped a cup of coffee earlier when he came barging in, and it still sat on its side, over the dresser in the far end of the room. The various chocolate bars and chips bags stuffed in his arms were threatening to overspill and he tossed them all on what would end up being his side of the bed, then let his body crumble besides them. Whilst you were righteously drying your hair with a white towel (not the questionable one they’d provided), he was gobbling down his first chocolate, a bar of Snickers.
He looked at you and tried not to let his eyes drop much. You wore a top that didn’t do him any favours. “Do you like chocolate, spawn of Satan?” he questioned casually.
If it wasn’t one of his wild and kind of insulting nicknames he used, it would be your last name and the same went to you. In all your years of knowing and hating each other, you’d barely uttered each other’s first names once or twice.
“You’re so weird,” you said with a grimace, brows furrowed and lips pulled downwards.
“I’ll take this as a compliment,” he mumbled to himself, then tossed a bag of barbecue chips on your side of the bed. “There, your favourite. You can’t say I’m not a kind person.”
You rolled your eyes and tossed the towel aside on a rocking chair. “So sweet it rots my teeth,” you sarcastically countered.
If you weren’t such a pain in the ass, Stiles could’ve sworn you’d be the most perfect girl in the entire world. However, you flipping him off came blurring that fact quite quickly.
When you came to sit in the bed, your side evidentially, you noticed that Stiles’ energy had died down and you found his lack of sarcasm imbedded snarked remarks oddly irritating.
“What’s wrong with you?” you’d asked like you didn’t care, brows furrowed in the middle.
He didn’t reply right away, so you opened up the chips bag and shoved a handful in your mouth. “See, you do like it!” he exclaimed like a little kid. You offered him a deadpan, to which he scoffed and shook his head. “I’m just worried about Scott, all right?” he replied all of a sudden, refusing to meet her eyes.
“I’m worried about him, too,” you confessed. “And Allison, and Lydia, and Derek. I’m worried about all of them, but they’re looking at me for moral support so I can’t exactly express my irrational fear now, can I?”
Stiles’s breath caught in his throat. He looked up to meet your eyes and his features contorted in something similar to sympathy. “I always thought you were the fearless kind,” he said softly. It was a sentence that struck him, kind of like the moment you realize your role models are real people with flaws and feelings (not that you were his role model).
“You thought wrong,” you told him between gritted teeth. You were irritated at yourself for showing such vulnerability, especially to the boy you were supposed to despise.
“Hey, if it helps, I’m very scared too. Actually, I’m scared of practically everything. Hell, I almost started shaking when Coach said we’d share a room,” Stiles said, then tried to hide his nervousness with a laugh.
You laughed, you couldn’t help yourself. “Really?”
“Yeah!” Stiles exclaimed.
“Why?” You’d tried to hide your grin in your shoulder, which coaxed a small smile out of him.
“Because you’re, like, the prettiest girl in the school,” he justified. “And you hate my guts, so there’s that.”
You sighed. The bag of chips was done, so you’d crumbled it up and tossed it in the can besides your side of the bed. “I don’t hate your guts, Stiles.”
He froze with the candy bar halfway to his mouth. When he spoke, his mouth was full and he sounded genuinely shocked. “You… don’t?”
“I don’t,” you confirmed.
A long moment of silence passed. Stiles no longer wanted to eat his favourite chocolate and you’d long forgotten about the last chop in your hand awaiting to be devoured. There was a single lamp that illuminated the room and it was right on top of you, so while you could barely decipher the expression on his face, he could examine every inch of your figure. From the hair draped over the crook of your neck to the shadows your eyelashes cast on your cheeks.
A loud series of knock on the room door made you both gasp in surprise, all of a sudden pulled from such an entrancing haze. On the other side, Coach Finstock had announced a motel-wide shutdown. It was time for your curfew and you didn’t want to go crash Lydia and Allison’s room like you had planned earlier. They’d wonder where you were though they secretly had seen it coming. You’d stay in that room and sleep in that bed. You’d picked your side already.
You slid under the covers and told him to turn off the lights. Afraid to shatter the windowpane you’d built carefully in that moment, he’d refrained himself from saying anything snarky. You’d waited for it but it never came; that was the moment you understood that something had changed between you two. It was the subtlest of shifts.
Stiles took the other side of the bed, but laid facing you as you did on the other side. There was a sort of invisible wall between you two, a hellish line you couldn’t see but were still afraid to cross.
“Hey,” he whispered. It wasn’t a question nor a statement. Just a word floating in the room and circling the drain like a catastrophe.
“Hi,” you replied.
You closed your eyes. Your knuckles brushed against his and a faint smile carved itself delicately on your lips.
What begun as something you and Stiles couldn’t stop catastrophizing ended up as the end of a chapter and the beginning of another. You’d taken a shovel and dig up things you believed where they’re only for your search to come up empty; you’d found greater treasures instead.
“We’re still gonna pretend to hate each other though, right?” You could hear the smile in Stiles’ voice as he spoke.
You opened your eyes and and grimaced. “Who said I’d be pretending?”
Then you both burst out laughing, faces pushed into the pillows so it wouldn’t echo too far down the hallway.
You woke up the next morning with his face in the crook of your neck, hot breath fanning over the bare flesh. The metaphorical wall that stood tall between you two had crumbled and left nothing in its place. This was a kind of sweet catastrophe that you could get used to.

Noah Stilinski
The Sheriff is one of best supportive character on the show while also being a special presence for other characters, someone they could rely onto.
Noah and Stiles:
Since Stiles is his son, the Sheriff has always been supportive of his son in whatever he chosed and when the supernatural came knocking on the doors Noah supported Stiles anyway, despite all the odds of the supernatural world.
Up to the last second Noah always believed Stiles, even when it seemed unbelievable or too much to handle, causing Noah to burst into anger at Stiles, he still ended up believing and supporting him regardless.
Even when possessed by an evil spirit who could talk through Stiles, Noah stood by him and believed his son was still there.
When Chris pointed his gun at him, Noha did the same to Chris, aiming to Chris and threatening him back.
Noah was always there for Stiles when he had nightmares after the nogitsune and always held him until he calmed down and probably even stayed with him until he fall asleep again.
Noah and Derek:
First off, the Sheriff was probably one of the few people who understood how Derek felt from the very beginning, cause maybe he took Derek, still a kid at the time, back to the station when Kate burned down his house.
Noah was probably one of the few people Derek knew of that were capable of being kind towards him, not expecting much in return.
And while this isn't explicit in the show and it's simply something I can see happening, Noah was by Derek's side a few more times.
Stiles' chessboard with Derek's name on the king, Derek asked about it and the Sheriff just looked at him, almost speaking simply through his eyes. No words needed, Noah knew Derek would understands and viceversa.
Meanwhile, in the movie we see them working together and having the 'old friends' type of chemistry while joking around on their respective sons. Eli causing trouble with the jeep while Derek was away and Noah not calling Stiles for help.
Noah and Eli:
In the movie it clearly visible how much Noah cares about Eli, especially cause he ends up giving him the jeep, which meant a lot for both Stiles and Derek, Noah's son and Eli's father. And this speaks volumes.
It's like they're both missing a piece, a ache of absence - one more permanent then the other - that they cannot fill anyhow, and Noah wants to help Eli by giving him what helped Stiles in his early teens. The jeep.
Noah saw Eli quiet like Stiles, alone and differently from Stiles who still had a father, Eli ended up absolutely alone - if you don't wanna count Peter - without his father, the only parent he ever had. So Noah stepped in and helped.
(Which is why I think it was weird that Scott and Allison ended up taking care of Eli, I could understand he Scott took him in his pack as Derek told the Alpha before dying, but why actually parenting him? I get the whole 'two.wolves together can learn from each other' but wouldn't it be better if Eli remained woth Noah? Didn't Scott get more than enough back?)
Noah Stilinski:
As a character, Noah is your widowed father who raised his son and best as he could and did a fantastic job, supporting and accepting his son for who he was without pushing any stereotype or expectations on him.
The Sheriff is a solitary man, even if he has the most amazing son, because he's alone. His wofe died and his son grew up and went his way, so now Noah is alone but he still keeps going.
Noah is a brave man. In the face of the supernatural he never backed off, never stopped protecting others and took riskes for them.
I believe we don't give Noah Stilinski enough credit.
He's a brave man who supported everyone who needed help because when he needed it, no one was there for him. Cause Stiles was still a kid, and a kid should never have to care of his parents which is why Noah was alone.
The Sheriff didn't have anyone by his side, so he became someone people could rely on.
Noah is a brave, selfless and caring man. He deserves more recognition for his actions.

Teen Wolf 1x06
Apparently his mom doesn’t do all the grocery shopping anymore.
Also, I’m once again struck on what the actual setting is? Beacon Hills has a Sheriff so it’s gotta be rural, but, like. Most of the houses scream affluent suburb, and a multilevel parking garage for a grocery store screams city.
Honestly, Scott, making all those car alarms go off was very smart, I love it.
So this was some sort of training thing by Fuckface? So he’s a terrible teacher too. Not surprised.
Okay, what the fuck? Scott, the Sheriff getting hurt was not your fault, number one. He barely got bumped, number two. And number three you were there? Like, you’d literally saved Allison from getting hit by a car (which would have been a lot worse for her than the Sheriff) like two seconds earlier. And finally, like, you’re sixteen and the Sheriff is an adult? And there were lots of adults there?
Like, I get feeling guilty and scared, but boy do not take that burden on, I beg of you.
“I don’t even know if I can teach you.” Wow, so for weeks you’ve been holding over Scott’s head that you’re the only one who can teach him and now you like, actually I suck and I was mostly lying and manipulating you. Awesome. Fuckface deserves so many awards for each subsequent level of terribleness that he reaches.
Aaaaaand Fuckface gets another award. Goddamit! What the actual fuck is this guy’s problem?
I don’t even know if I can teach you, but I sure am going to make your life as miserable as possible in the meantime. Fuckface doesn’t just want Scott to not have distractions, he wants Scott to not have a life. Which he’s essentially said before.
Also, Scott’s clearly having money problems, they’ve mentioned it several times, and Fuckface just destroyed his phone for no reason. The more I think I can hate this guy the more he proves me wrong.
THIS MAN IS FULL OF BULLSHIT. HE IS LYING TO YOU. YOU HAVE SHIFTED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT ANGER AS THE IMPETUS AND YOU HAVE SHIFTED BACK WITHOUT USING PAIN.
Fuckface is full of anger and pain and he’s trying to make you like him: a tragedy of a barely human soul that only cares about cruelty to others.
“This is the only way that I can teach you,” is very telling. He did not say, this is the only way that you can learn. He’s terrible for you, Scott, and I wish you could/would get away from him.
Lol, if you can teach me, I can stay away from her, is also telling. Because it’s clear Fuckface can’t teach him, so why should he stay away?
Once again, I have to wonder if Kate is supposed to be breadcrumbing Allison or if she’s doing it against her parent’s wishes.
See, that’s the thing when you sneak up on the kid for no reason you’ve now trained him to think it’s you being a Fuckface and not an actual threat.
Funny how the Alpha is just hanging outside the Argent place. You’d think they’d have some sort of protection or warding or traps or something.
Spiral again.
Btw, I’ve just realized that Fuckface has probably caused Scott almost an equal amount of trauma as the Alpha has.
“You can’t ask me to trust you and then keep things to yourself,” is 100% fucking valid, Scott. But you should literally never trust him, he’s been nothing but awful to everyone, but most especially to you.
What the fuck does that even mean? It’s worse than you beating him and hurting him for no reason? It’s worse than the Alpha wanting to kill bond with Scott or just kill Scott in general?
Or is it worse for you, Fuckface? Is it worse because it will make you look even worse in Scott’s eyes than you do right now and cause him not to trust you even more?
Cause I’m feeling like that’s more accurate.
What the fuck is Stiles’ problem?
Oh so this is where Scott is getting the guilt about the Sheriff getting hurt. Well Stiles can fucking suck it. It still wasn’t anywhere in the realm of being Scott’s fault.
At least Stiles and I agree on Fuckface being useless.
Love the loudly talking in the halls about Scott killing people.
Umm, wait. Okay, so, like, Fuckface is bad news, but Stiles has literally never had a good plan. I mean, sometimes they worked, but mostly by accident, and I am scared for them.
I’m thinking back to the first episode when Stiles said something like Scott was dragging him down by his nerdiness. Like, Stiles. Bro. I do not think the nerdiness is all from Scott.
Once again, Stiles strikes me as a cop’s kid and that’s not a compliment. Rich kids and cops kids always, always think the rules don’t apply to them, and it’s anger inducing how often they’re right.
The heart rate thing theoretically makes sense, but I’m incredibly concerned about the duct taped wrists. Why are we not just having him do wind sprints or something?
Why do all of these people conflate anger and pain? They’re not actually the same thing.
Also
WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK, STILES? Scott is getting beat up all the time by Derek, he’s being stalked and hurt by the Argents and the Alpha and now he gets to be beat up by you? WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK.
We have already established that while Scott can heal, it still hurts. How many times has he had to deal with physical trauma in the last two months? Fifteen times. Twenty?
He’s averaging once every couple of days. And by people purporting to help him! This cannot be good for his mental health, honestly.
Scott, buddy, that doesn’t make any sense. Allison doesn’t make you weaker, and also, you totally controlled the shift after like a minute, which is way faster than it’s taken you in the past. I absolutely do not condone Stiles beating the fuck out of you with lacrosse balls, but it proved the opposite of what you think it did, my dude.
Not a fan of that hallucination, but the effect was nice.
Sitting kind of close there, bud.
Allison, I love you. Call him out, girl.
“Do you know what it’s like to be the best player on the team?” I mean, she was Nationally ranked as a kid, I think she probably has a good idea about pressure, Jackson, and yet she somehow still manages to not be an asshole.
What’s that quote? When you’re accustomed to privilege, losing it feels like oppression? IT’S NOT.
This is even worse because he’s in a team sport, tbh. Like, this is just showcasing how fucking selfish he is. If he cared at all about the sport or the team he’d be over the moon (no pun intended) about having Scott on the team.
See? Allison and I are of the same mind on this. And no, he wasn’t joking.
He’s bad and also being creepy now. Run, girl.
Poor Allison is having a hard day. Lydia being dismissive, Jackson being creepy, Scott avoiding her.
Scott, seriously, use your words. Tell her that you’re grounded or something. Tell her that your grades are in free fall and you can’t date until they’re sorted. You have options other than just ignoring her.  Even though I don’t think you have to because your assumptions are wrong.
The writers did it again! This time it wasn’t with Stiles, but they had Scott ask a ‘dumb’ question just so someone could be sarcastic back! Such a weird character choice.
Man, this is so mean! Are there any good teachers in this show?
AWWWWWWWW. I mean, absolutely horrible way to show it, but that’s sweet! I knew Allison wasn’t a weakness. Both cause Fuckface is full of shit, but also because this is not the first time he’s calmed down because of her.
Stiles how are you the dumbest smart person? You’re still not forgiven for beating Scott up, though.
Once again, PAIN IS NOT THE SAME AS ANGER AND YOU NEED TO STOP BEATING YOUR FRIEND UP. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? STILES YOU ARE NOT FORGIVEN EVEN A LITTLE.
This actor is not doing well with this scene. Like, he does anger fine, and he did the scene with Kate fine, but I pretty sure this is supposed to be tugging at my heartstrings and all I can think is, like, did you even visit this guy once in six years? Or did you come back now just to show him off to Scott as a physical reminder of your pain, and then yell at him when it’s clear that you’re useless?
Still haven’t ruled that guy out as the Alpha. Don’t know why he killed Laura, but maybe he’s pissed at her for deserting him too.
He didn’t even park in a spot? I mean, just one more asshole behavior, but still. That’s a place where disabled people may need one of those spots you blocked, Fuckface.
Oh. Oh, this is even worse. Stiles did those things to punish Scott for something he had no control over or any responsibility for.
Scott needed to be physically punished TWICE for Stiles to feel better. That’s just…like I don’t want to throw around the word abusive, but this is not a good look at all. Are we supposed to give Stiles a pass because he’s loyal? Because obviously he’s loyal only up until the point where he blames you for something.
I reject that Scott has to do something. Scott is not in charge of protecting the Sheriff or the school or the town. With great power comes great responsibility does not mean all the bad things that happen are his fault. You can’t put that weight on anyone let alone a kid. He’s responsible for helping where he can, just like everyone else, not whenever it’s needed.
Does that teacher know something too?
I still like the Vet. He’s so nice to Scott.
He was better at lying to the Sheriff, but he still wasn’t great at that.
Welp, Fuckface has reached another level of terrible. There could have been a half dozen reasons his heart rate increased, but this guy’s first instinct is always cruelty and violence.
The Vet trying to protect Scott and Scott trying to protect his boss is lovely. I really do like their relationship and I wish we could see more of it. Obviously the Chemistry teacher didn’t know what he was talking about because Scott has a good male role model in the Vet.
The spiral just means revenge? Like, bro, why wouldn’t you just say that to Scott in the first place? YOU MAKE NO SENSE. NONE OF YOUR CHOICES MAKE SENSE.
“Hit him again and you’ll see me get angry.”
Wooooboooooooy, you tell him Scott!
Also, the Vet was clearly knocked out once already and his face didn’t heal and Fuckface is beyond stupid.
Fuckface asking Scott for a plan. Like, I can’t begin to imagine asking a sixteen year old to plan something for me.
“Personally I’m a fan of ignoring a problem until it goes away,” says the guy who got his friend beat up twice because he thinks that just because Scott has these abilities (that he can barely control) he should have protected the Sheriff.
This plan is sounding more like a Stiles plan, Scott. Initial idea with zero idea on follow through.
Dude, Scott got him some base.
Oh, yay, we’re done with Fuckface. Love that for us.
I’m glad the Vet got out of there, but..uh. Boys? We got us a problem.

How I think the movie would’ve (should’ve?) gone if Stiles was there:
1. Stiles gets a call from his dad about the arsonist.
2. He arrives after Allison is already going and trying to kill Scott
3. He saves Scott’s butt bc idk 🤷‍♀️
4. He see’s Lydia and depending on how they would want this it’s either their still together and are happy to see each other or it’s really awkward for them.
5. He finds out about the Nogitsune being back and feels deeply obligated to help.(Since ya know feels like it’s his fault. Season 3b 😛) He doesn’t really care about the arsonist rn.
6. Tends to get angry and lash out a bit when Scott and the others tell him, he should maybe take a break.
7. In the “big fight” moment everyone is captured by an oni and the Nogitsune and Stiles have a little chat. Something like: Nogitsune: “Oh hello Stiles, how have you been?”
Stiles: “Shut up.” (Ya know the usual)
8: As the pack pleads Stiles decides that for protection for his friends and family once again he lets the Nogitsune in. (Alternate ver. Or The Nogitsune doesn’t want him but I’m going with the first one.)
9: Then Stiles now being Void Stiles leaves ya know and they all are released and decided to look for him.
Now this could be at the end of the movie so you have leeway for another but if not they solve it again idk.
Since a majority of people (from what I’ve seen) loved 3b and Void Stiles it would’ve been a nice comeback but it might’ve been repetitive idk just some of my thoughts.

Derek pauses his movement. “Look,” He starts. “you’re not exactly innocent in all of this either.”
Stiles raises a challenging eyebrow and folds his arms.
“I tried to talk to you before me and Kate...” Derek sighs. “Before we started to see each other.”
Stiles scoffs.
“Can’t believe you’re trying to blame me for you not knowing how to keep your dick in your pants.”
“I’m not blaming you!” Derek barks. “I-I just want you to see that you don’t make things easy. We barely saw each other unless it was to drop off Eli at school or practice. And when we were in the same vicinity of one another, it was like I wasn't even there.”
Stiles unfolds his arms and sniffles before looking at Derek. Really looking at him.
“I’m sorry that you felt like I wasn't the perfect partner while working and trying to take care of our kid.”
It’s sudden, but Stiles grabs a mug half filled with cold tea and lugs it at Derek.

"It is not a double date. It is a group thing." Lydia tells Allison.
"I didn't say it was a double date. I said triple date. And do they know it's a group thing? Cause I told you that I'm not ready to get back at there."
"You were in France and didn't do any dating or flirting for four months?" Julia speaks up in the back seat.
"Did you two? I mean, after..." Allison starts to ask Lydia.
"Do not say his name."
"Is he okay? I mean, did everything work out?" Allison asks.
"Doctors looked like total idiots when he turned up alive but everyone got over it." Julia laughs.
"And yes, Derek taught him the Werewolf 101. Like how not to randomly kill people during a full moon."
"So then you've talked to him?" Allison smiles.
"Uh, not since he left for London."
"You mean since his dad moved him to London." Allison corrects her.
"Whatever, he left. And seriously an American Werewolf in London? Like that's not going to be a disaster."
"So you totally over him?"
"Would I be going on a triple date if I wasn't? Yes, it is a triple date. It's not an orgy. You'll live." Lydia makes the two laugh. "Plus Julia really needs this because Isaac hasn't been answering her."
"You and Isaac?" Allison looks back at her smiling.
"Again, we aren't a thing. It was just a little thing over the summer till he got busy with Derek looking for Boyd and Erica." Julia explains to her.
"And you're super moody without a fun toy." Lydia and Allison laugh while Julia tries to defend herself.
"I don't understand why try this when you know the last double date we went on I didn't keep in contact with."
"You seemed to get along with that prep school guy. You talked about lacrosse." Lydia tells her.
"Yeah, but." Julia shuts up.
"Oh, my god. Oh, my god. I can't see him, not now." Allison starts to freak so the sisters look to their left to see Scott and Stiles. "Lydia, go. Just go!"
"But the light." Lydia looks at the light and then goes while it's red.
"Lydia, stop. We need to go back and talk to them." Allison says so Lydia stops and they look back to see they stopped too. "Why would they stop?"
"It's Stiles and Scott. Do you really want to try applying logic to those two?" Julia laughs before they all scream because a deer ran right into the windshield going through it.
They get out and the guys run over to check on them, "Are you hurt?" Stiles looks at Lydia and Julia, "You're bleeding." He sees Julia's cheek with a small piece of glass. "Careful, I don't wanna hurt you." He takes it out for her.
"Thank you,"
"I am totally freaking out. How the hell does it just run into us?" Lydia gets loud as Scott goes to look. "I saw its eyes right before it hit us. It was like it... It was like it was crazy."
"No, it was scared." Scott says, "Actually, terrified." He touches it.
Lydia's car gets taken to get fixed so the girls just head home but Lydia was still having her date come over so she puts Prada in Julia's room.
While Julia was getting things ready for school tomorrow, Prada bites her ankle, "Prada!" She was shocked because Prada had never bitten anyone. Prada jumps onto her bed curling up into a ball, "What's with you?" Julia goes back to getting things ready.
For school the next morning, Allison takes the sisters to school. Walking the halls alone, Julia sees the boys so she rushes over to hang on Scott's free arm, "Good morning boys." She smiles.
"How are you doing this morning?" Scott asks looking at where her cut was on her cheek.
"Fine, just still wish school was out."
"Don't we all?" Stiles adds.
"Especially Scott and Allison so they don't have to see each other." Julia laughs so Scott pushes her away from him.
"Shut up." He makes her laugh as they walk into class.
When Lydia and Allison come in Alison has to sit in front of Scott while Lydia sits in front of Julia who was to the left of Stiles. Their new teacher comes in reading a text she sent to the whole class that was part of a book they would be reading this year.
While working on their assignment Stiles notices a bandage on Julia's ankle, "Julia. What is that? Is that from the accident?"
"No, Prada bit me."
"Lydia's dog?" He asks.
"No, her designer handbag. Yes, her dog."
"Has it ever bitten you before?" He asks now so she shakes her head no, "Okay. What if it's, like, the same thing as the deer? You know, like, how animals start acting weird right before an earthquake or something?"
"Meaning what? Like something bad is coming?"
"It was a deer and a dog, guys." Lydia looks back at them.
"What's that thing you say about threes? Once, twice..." Julia is cut off as a bang happens so she looks at the window to see blood.
Everyone looks before birds start flying into the window breaking but coming into the classroom.
"Get down! Everyone!" Ms. Blake tells the class.
Lydia gets under her desk while Stiles moves Julia's so he can cover her body with his as they get down. When all the birds die the class gets up looking around.
"You okay?" Stiles looks at Julia.
"Yeah, you got a little blood here." She carefully touches his head.
"I'm fine." He lets her know.
Soon the police show up to check up on the students and ask questions about what exactly happened. "Julia, you okay?" Noah asks as she sits on top of a desk next to Stiles.
"Yeah, thanks to Stiles. Which you didn't have to do by the way." She looks at him.
"I didn't want you to get hurt again. First the crash and then the dog." He nudges her making his dad slightly smile.
"Mr. Argent." Noah goes over to Chris to ask about if he knew anything so Chris asks why did he think he knew. "I'm sorry. I could've sworn I overheard my son talking about how you were an experienced hunter."
Stiles puts his head down making Julia silently giggle, "You are loud..."
"Shut up. I'm gonna call Scott and tell him what happened." He pulls out his phone as we go out into the hall, "We got a serious problem at school. Ms. Blake's class... Uh, well, no, pretty sure this qualifies for immediate discussion. Derek's house? What? What the hell are you doing at..." Stiles looks at Julia as Scott hangs up on him.
"Well, let's go to Derek's." Julia heads down the hall first.
When they get there Stiles tells Scott everything before Scott asks Derek for help with his tattoo. "The pain's gonna be worse than anything you've ever felt." Derek lets him know.
"Oh, that's great." Stiles nods his head.
"Do it.
"That's a lot for me." Stiles says as Derek lights the blow torch, "So I'm gonna take that as my cue. I'm just gonna wait outside." Stiles heads for the door.
"Nope." Derek grabs him, "You can help Julia hold him down." Each gets a shoulder to put weight down on Scott as he holds out his arm. Scott yells in pain so they hold him down harder.
"I think he passed out." Julia says as he stops moving as Derek gets closer to finishing.
"Yeah, he's out." Stiles agrees.
The three just stand to the side waiting for him to wake up and when he does he was happy it worked. "Well, likes pretty damn permanent now." Stiles tells him as they get ready to leave.
"Yeah. I kind of needed something permanent. Everything that's happened to us, everything just changes so fast. Everything's so... Ephemeral."
"Studying for the PSATs." Stiles adds.
"Yep."
As they head out Scott stops because he realizes Derek painted one side of the door so he claws at the door getting rid of the paint to show a symbol.
"The birds at school and the deer last night. Just like the night I got trampled by the deer what I got bit by the Alpha. How many are there?" Scott asks Derek.
"A pack of them. An Alpha pack."
"A pack? Let me guess one of the Alpha's in that pack is a leader?" Julia tilts her head.
"That's what I've heard. He's called Deucalion. We know they have Boyd and Erica. Peter, Isaac, and I have been looking for them for the last four months."
"Let's say you find them. How do you deal with an Alpha pack?" Scott walks up to him.
"With all the help I can get."
"Where is she? Where's the girl?" Isaac wakes up.
"What girl? Derek asks him confused about who he was talking about.
"The one who saved me."
"Did she go to the hospital with you?" Julia walks over to him and he nods his head, "Wouldn't she still be there?"
"The pack was there trying to get Isaac." Derek tells her, "Maybe they got her?"
"If she was able to help Isaac, I'm sure she got away from them. She can't be that stupid lay around in a hospital when they're looking for her and Isaac."
"She's probably right... Julia is normally right about things. I learned that." Stiles speaks up pointing at her.
At night Stiles invited Julia to go to a party with him and Scott but she lied saying she was busy at home but instead she was just being lazy at home.
"Come on Mom." She yawns as there was a knock on her door but Isaac walks in, "You're not my mom." She eyes him.
"No, I'm not." He smiles.
"Can you tell me why you're here?"
"I'm bored at Derek's." He plops onto her bed.
"Okay... and?" She continues to look at him confused.
"What? You don't want to hang out with me?"
"Not really. I lied to Stiles about being busy so I didn't have to go to a party so I could be lazy in bed. And you being here defeats the purpose of my lie." She explains to him.
"Don't you miss me?" He smiles rolling his body on top of her lap.
"Eh, I got a break from you but Lydia made me go on double dates." She says making him sit up.
"With an s... double dates?"
"Yeah." She smiles.
"Any of them catch your interest?"
"This prep guy that plays lacrosse but I haven't texted him back lately. Why?" She sees the way he was looking at her.
"You got a thing for lacrosse players, huh?" He crawls closer to her.
"They're fit... plus my two friends are players. I'm also I player."
"You're on the team?" He asks surprised.
"Yeah, before school started I talked to coach and he remembered when I hit Stiles and said I'm on the team when it's time." She smiles. Isaac was still moving closer to her making her laugh, "What are you doing?"
"I wanna apologize for ditching you." He kisses her cheek.
"I thought we also agreed we would stop this little thing?"
"One more time to say sorry." He places his lips on hers.

your fic ideas are hella cool so dropping in another 📔 if you wish!
(another content warning, for abuse & gaslighting this time)
AU where instead of letting him go to suffer in his grief and guilt, Kate keeps Derek after the fire. she doesn't take credit for what she did, instead bluffing her way through convincing Derek that someone else was responsible for it. she offers him refuge. she can protect him. because she loves him.
desperate for comfort in the wake of all that he's lost (he assumes, and Kate reinforces the idea, that everyone else is dead), with the alternative too horrifying for him to even consider much less accept, Derek latches onto her and goes with her willingly because he's got nothing and no one else left.
it's a perfect foundation for the kind of emotional abuse that keeps someone feeling indebted no matter what their abuser puts them through. he'll do anything she wants him to, because doesn't he remember what she did for him? what she's still doing for him? keeping him safe. he knows what her family does, he doesn't he understand how much of a risk it is for her to harbor him from them? he can't possibly disobey complain when she's risking everything for him.
bonus points if he's desperate enough, and Kate a forceful enough personality, that Derek can latch onto her like an alpha to avoid omega status, in lieu of having a pack. we see atypical pack bonds in the show, Scott forming a "pack" with Stiles and Allison that was solid enough to avoid omega status and help him resist the sway of a real alpha, so i'm inclined to think it's possible. Derek, young and vulnerable, alone and grieving and terrified, submitting to the will of someone older, trusted, and powerful enough to make him feel safe.
little does Derek know, Laura and Cora both escaped the fire (and Peter, comatose still). he thinks they're dead, because that's what Kate told him, and he trusts Kate (because she's all he has).
he doesn't know they're alive, but they also don't know that he's alive. Laura and Cora fled town together after the fire, the way Laura and Derek did canonically. and they're drawn back the same way -- Peter's slowly returning consciousness, the mystery of the fire, etc etc. in this AU, it's Mrs Finch (the teacher at the high school from season 6 who's apparently been an alpha werewolf in hiding the entire time) that Peter killed so that he could start biting random teenagers in the woods. that's definitely something that Laura needs to look into and take care of.
it's also something the hunters are looking into, of course. Chris calls Kate for backup and, not having any more context than "rogue alpha", she comes. and she brings her boyfriend with her. whatever identity she's set up for him, it's well established by now, and Derek is (horror of horrors) one of her hunters. she's convinced him to fight the "bad" werewolves. it's not like werewolves didn't police their own sometimes anyway, if they deserved it, for the sake of staying secret and protecting innocents. it didn't take too much manipulating prodding to convince him to use his superior senses to aid her cause.
Derek is the one who finds the alpha. he has him in his sights.
only Laura has found him too.
and that's the first they see of each other.
Derek runs before there can be any kind of connection. he goes back to Kate and tells her what he saw. she, of course, gaslights the fuck out of him. he didn't actually see his sister. he couldn't have. they're all dead, remember? she saw the bodies herself, doesn't he trust her?
Kate, blindsided -- she knew Laura and Cora were alive, but she didn't expect them to be here, threatening her long con and her control on her favorite tool/toy -- runs back to Chris (completely in the dark on her machinations) for damage control. tries to turn him onto taking the other Hales out of the picture as quickly as possible without alerting him as to why.
code-loving Chris resists; as far as they know, those Hales haven't done anything wrong. they haven't broken the code, one of them is just 16, and it seems like they're all working toward the same end in taking down the rogue alpha. maybe they should just let them be for now, keep an eye on them, monitor the situation, etc. Kate, not happy about this, but unable to leave to handle things on her own without raising eyebrows.
meanwhile, Cora being the one to connect with Scott and Stiles. much less likely to stand out while sneaking around a high school she doesn't attend, lmao. Laura is busy with the alpha investigation (and with the whole "holy SHIT was that Derek?? that really looked like it might've been Derek, wtf wtf wtf" thing), so she does most of the handling with the boys.
Scott isn't nearly as resistant to her (or Laura) as he was to Derek, who was far more overbearing and uncommunicative, lol. Laura wants him to focus on getting himself and his shift under control, adjust to his new powers, just stay out of the way for now. she tells Cora that too, but Cora says FUCK THAT, Derek might be alive and you want me to stay out of it??? she may not have spent 7 years completely alone and fending for herself in this AU, but she's still headstrong and proactive. she wants to get shit done.
so she, Scott, and Stiles end up on their own little sub-mission. and they bring Allison into the fold because they don't have an Argent-traumatized Derek projecting all over them and insisting they can't trust her. they know Argents as a whole are bad, but they also know that Allison doesn't seem to have any clue what the rest of her family is doing. she's a total normie. Cora's much more likely to look at her and go "wow, you're so in the dark. maybe if we DON'T lie to you, we can get you one our side and you'll be an advantage!"
she starts explaining things to Allison and makes some mention of her brother and Allison's like "wait, Derek? that's Kate's boyfriend, they've been together for years, he's staying in our guest room" and Cora's like UM??
Stiles: "well, fuck, let's break in and rescue him right now!" Allison: "you know i have a key, right? it's my house" Scott: "idk if that's a good idea" Cora: "Laura would be so mad......let's do it"
meanwhile, Laura, more on the cautious side of things. she's desperate to get Derek back, if that actually was him, but she isn't sure it was and she can't take huge risks if it puts the sibling she does have in danger. keeping Cora safe has been her number one priority for the last 6 years, she isn't willing to jeopardize that just yet.
doesn't mean she can't take small risks. if Chris Argent gets all up in her face to menacingly wash the windows of her car, she may take a chance on a question or two.
Laura: "Kate's boyfriend -- Derek, isn't it? i had a little brother by that name. would be about that age by now, if he was alive." Chris: "what are you insinuating?" Laura: "nothing. just a funny coincidence, don't you think?"
she doesn't get an answer, but it plants a little seed of doubt in Chris, right as Kate's control over Derek is starting to fray a little bit. Cora & co get into the guest room where they're staying, intending to rescue him, but they miscalculate and no one's in there (which is probably good, cuz that would've gone badly for them). Cora gets frustrated and upset because there are scents here but she doesn't really recognize them enough to verify if it's her brother or not -- it's been a long time, and she was too young to remember properly.
but Derek wasn't too young. and when he gets back to the room, he and can smell her.
Kate insists he's wrong, he's not smelling anything more than perfume or air freshener, what is he smelling ghosts now? he starts to feel like either he's going crazy or maybe, maybe..... Kate is lying to him.
he's still fighting that realization, but the next time he gets sent out on his own after the alpha, Laura finds him. neither of them runs this time. Laura tries to get Derek to come with her, but Derek has been with Kate a long time and he doesn't know how to do or be anything else anymore. they argue. Derek insists that Kate has been good to him, that she saved him, that she loves him.
Laura: "Derek, she told you we were dead! do i look dead to you?"
over the course of this argument, Derek mentions smelling Cora in his room and Laura's like "you did what?? GODDAMN IT, CORA"
that's how Laura finds out they've let Allison in on the secret and she is furious. she may not have the very personal grudge and trust issues that canon!Derek had with them, but she's still got a very healthy aversion to hunters. she yells at Cora about how reckless and stupid it was to tell this girl anything. Scott steps in to defend her -- it was his idea, if she's gonna be mad at anyone then be mad at him. Stiles argues that it was a tactical advantage to have an inside man, so to speak.
Laura gets that, she does, but she just.....she wants everybody to be safe. she can't protect her loved ones (the ones she has left) if they won't do what she tells them to do. she's by far the more traumatized of the two of them. she went from normal teenager to The Alpha, the one with too much responsibility on her shoulders to be allowed to grieve and process properly. she sheltered Cora, still an actual kid, enough to let her fall apart and then put her back together again, but Laura never got to do that herself. she couldn't afford to break down when she had a child to keep safe and provide for.
but now Cora's old enough to take of herself, old enough to push for what she thinks is right, and Laura is still clinging to that Must Protect instinct because it's the only thing that's been keeping her going for the last 6 years. to be faced with evidence that she failed as an alpha, and as a big sister? that she let Derek get taken in and twisted up by hunters and she didn't even know? devastating.
it takes them all to talk her down. because honestly, she is being paranoid and irrational and stubborn, and that's not actually helping. it's not helping her, it's not helping Cora, and most of all, it's not helping Derek. if they want to get their brother back, they'll need all the help they can get, and Allison, Argent or not, has already proven that she can and wants to be that help.
in the end, they decide they need Chris as an ally too, if they really want to get somewhere, and they can use Allison to make that happen bit by bit. they get her to start hinting at things, asking leading questions about Derek, like if Chris knows where he's from or what he studied in school or how old he is. casual normal things that Chris realizes he doesn't have answers for, because Kate always answers for Derek when people talk to him and she's always vague.
not to mention, Kate is acting cagey lately. pushing so hard to kill Laura with no code violation. he's got Laura's voice in his ear now. i had a brother by that name. he would be about that age too, if he was alive.
aaaaand okay so i never got to the end of this idea, so you gotta imagine the rest of it yourself 😅 but you know at some point, either Laura tears Kate's throat out to rescue Derek, or Derek truly comes to understand just how deeply he's been victimized and does it himself. either way, i'm cheering them on.
.
send me a book emoji for the plot of a fic that i haven't written but daydream about!!

Part 4
Tumblr media
We fell into a routine of sorts over the next few days. As the lines of his infection slowly started to recede he started to gain strength. He felt good enough to walk on his own. And the second day he was here I decided to take him off of his IV.
It was almost like having a roommate. He was quiet most days. But every now and then something would spark his interest. Something about the house. Or asking about Stiles or someone else in town. When he felt up to it he would ask about the past creatures we had encountered while he was gone. I could see how bittersweet it was for him. How much he loved the place and missed the people. But how hard it was to remember things that were once close to Allison.
Though the comfortable silences were easy to live with. Quietly I cooked while his steady presence remained on my porch. A silent dance ensued between us on the days he felt up to helping me. And on the two days I had patients, he was a soundless bystander who let me get on with my work.
His being at my house was almost more of a comfort than it was an annoyance.
I had finally convinced him to sleep during the day when he felt like it. That part of him that had been scared to sleep or be unaware had disappeared in the last few days. With his body fighting the infection he needed all the rest he could get. Convincing the never still man of this was tough, but eventually I broke through the thick and high walls of his. I also had the help of him not being able to keep his eyes open on a few occasions.
It’s what he was doing now. And I curled on the couch with a book in the small down time I was allowed. Diving into the story, the pages taking me somewhere new and far away from here. A knock disrupted my reading. I hurried for the door before the person could ring the doorbell and wake Chris.
Swinging the door open my mother stood there in all her glory. Holding a bottle of wine and a bag of my favorite popcorn. A smile covered her face, though it started to fade slightly when I didn’t let her in right away.
“Are you going to let me in, or am I just going to stand out here with this bottle,” she asked, only half joking.
I quickly shook myself out of my stupor. “Yeah sorry, come in. Just be quiet, I have a patient resting.”
Her eyes turned understanding as they always did. She did as I asked and set the wine carefully in the fridge, barely making a sound. “So that’s why I haven’t heard from you. I was starting to get worried,” she said in a hushed tone.
“It’s been a tough case. He came in with deep lacerations and an infection set in. I’ve only been able to get his fever down a handful of times. It’s starting to worry me,” I took a seat at one of my bar stools while she leaned over the sink.
“Do you know him?”
Usually I didn’t mind talking about my patients with mom. She was a nurse so she understood most of my situations. But this was a little different. She and Chris had become decent friends once she got over him hunting Scott. I wasn’t sure if him being back would upset her in some way. And I didn’t know if he wanted anyone knowing he was back.
“Kind of,” I settled on. “I’m sorry I haven’t called. How’s Scotty?”
She eyed me for a second, noting how I changed the subject too fast. But she played along with my little game for the time being. “He’s fine. Him and Kyra got a lead on the Dread Doctors, they’re trying to follow it the best they can.”
“What about you? How are you handling things?”
“As best as a mother can with her children running wild,” she gave a small laugh.
I leaned over and let my hand rest on her shoulders, “We’re just doing what you taught us mom.”
Patting my hand she nodded. “It doesn’t look like your patient has let you sleep very much.”
With her hawk-like eyes she never missed anything. How she never found out about Scott turning into a werewolf sooner than she did I will never know. Even with a busy work schedule she never missed a beat in my or Scott’s life. She knew every time we snuck out. Every time we did something bad. Or when we had our first kiss and neglected to tell her about it. She claimed it was her own supernatural power.
I sat back down on the stool looking at the half full coffee pot. I had been through more coffee than ever in these past few days. “He’s had rough nights. He refuses to take any kind of pain killer so all he does is toss and turn trying to get comfortable. Plus I’m still checking his wound and temperature every hour.”
“I can always fill in for a day or two. I’ve got some off time coming up,” she offered. Always looking out for me. Always ready to put in a helping hand.
“No, you need the rest as much as I do. I’ll be okay for now.”
She walked around the counter and wrapped me in a warm hug. Giving me the comfort that only a mother could provide to a child. The embrace that always provided a blanket of safety and comfort.
“If you need anything, just call. I can be here if you need me,” she said, leaning back and pushing a few stray hairs away from my face.
“I will mom.”
I saw her off, waving from the porch as she drove down the bumpy road. Clouds were starting to darken again. It would begin to rain soon. And once more my roads would become a muddy mess.
As I stepped inside Chris was pouring himself a cup of coffee. His graying hair was pointing in a few different directions. It took all of me not to giggle at the sight. I’d never seen him so… disheveled.
His eyes were starting to become clear again. The fog of tiredness, and heavy medication wearing off. “How was your mom,” he asked, taking a long sip of coffee and staring at me over the rim of his mug.
“I thought you were asleep, not eavesdropping,” I quipped. He shrugged, not looking ashamed in the least. I continued before he could ask anymore questions, “You look better. How are you feeling?”
“Good, but sore,” he said honestly.
“Why don’t you sit on the couch and I can take another look at your wound?”
He wordlessly followed me, used to the routine of my checking things. He seemed to be less agitated every time we went through this spell together.
His skin was hot to the touch, which I hated. It was like flames on my fingers every time I brushed against him. Every time we bumped into each other in the kitchen. Every time I pulled his bandage up. Every time I helped him out of or into bed. I knew it was the fever that was doing this. However it sometimes felt as if the flames would transfer to my own skin, and linger long after I had left him.
I pulled the bandage off and for once was pleased with what I saw. The red lines had started to recede. They were almost halfway gone. The puffiness around the wound had lessened. And the stitches were all holding up nicely even as he gained more sense of movement. It was the most improvement I had seen since he was brought here.
“It’s the first time your eyebrows haven’t scrunched together while looking at it,” he said almost too quietly for me to hear.
I looked back into his blue eyes. The ones that were addicting. “It’s looking better for once. You’re finally making some progress. If you didn’t start soon I was going to have to take you into Beacon Hills.”
“If you were so worried, why didn’t you tell your mom about me? I doubt I could fight off both of you while I’m like this.”
I looked down to the couch, trying to hide the blush that took over my cheeks. “I didn’t know who you wanted knowing you were back. And I… I don’t know, I just, I wanted you to trust me.”
Calloused fingers found their way to my chin. Slowly he made me look at him again. He made me look him in the eye. Flames burst onto my skin, and I had never been so glad that he couldn’t hear my heartbeat. It was going to leap out of my chest.
“If I didn’t already trust you, I wouldn’t have had Maddie and Josh bring me here. You’re one of the only people I can be sure of at this moment,” he said gently, like speaking to a loved one. Someone he cared for.
I prayed that the blush in my cheeks didn’t grow any deeper than it already was.
*****
After our nightly routine of dinner and some time by the fire on the couch I situated him in bed. Once he was comfortable I retreated to my own room. Even though I was exhausted, sleep eluded me.
I tossed and turned, and did everything in my power to fall asleep. Nothing worked. Not counting sheep. Not reading for a while. Not even staring at the wall or forcing my eyes shut. Sleep was not my friend tonight despite me needing it desperately.
It had been almost a week since I had gotten a full night of rest. Nor had I gotten to sleep in. If I kept this up I wasn’t going to make it.
The rain started an hour into my tossing spell. Usually the thick rain drops pounding onto the roof sent me to sleep quickly. The soothing sound wasn’t enough tonight though. Instead they were music helping to keep my brain alert. I was going to go crazy laying here.
Ripping the sheets off of me I stood and slipped out of my room. Before I could make my way for the kitchen I noted the light was still on in the guest bedroom. I wondered if he was having just as much trouble as I was. Or if maybe I was somehow keeping him awake. Not able to stop my curiosity I knocked on the door, pushing it open to find him standing by the large window.
He had taken off his shirt. His large frame took up most of my view. Broad shoulders flowed seamlessly into his long torso. The only thing disrupting his figure was the bandage covering up about half of his abs. Despite the trauma his body had been through, he still kept his sculpted shape.
I pushed the blush from my cheeks as best I could. I stammered over my words and forced my eyes to the ground. “Sorry, I thought maybe… Um, I thought I was keeping you up, so I came to check on you.”
I could hear him shuffling closer to me. Though he had gained a lot of strength back, it was still hard for him to walk normally with the wound on his side. It was a miracle that he was walking at all.
“I was afraid I was keeping you up,” he said. I could see his feet in my line of vision.
I wasn’t sure why I couldn’t look up. I had seen him without a shirt plenty of times. Who had stitched him up? Who had helped him dress himself? This was ridiculous. I was a medical professional, I could keep it that way.
Lifting my gaze straight to his eyes I could see the small amount of humor in them. It seemed as if he was trying his best not to laugh at me. To not be humored by my reaction. But under that humor was a deep sadness. His eyes were lined with a little bit of redness. Like he had been crying.
“Are you okay,” I near whispered, afraid to embarrass him, or make him upset.
It was his turn to push his gaze away from me. “I’m fine. Just one of those nights.”
One of the nights he couldn’t push his grief away. A night where it consumed him and demanded to be felt. Demanded that he bow to the sadness and memories both good and bad. When the guilt consumed him and he couldn’t escape his losses.
“They happen. It’s okay if you want to talk about her, Chris.” It took a lot to keep my hand from moving to his. I was seeing all new sides of this man in this little escapade that brought him to me.
He started to run his fingers through his beard. Taming the wild hairs, putting them back in their place. Over the last few days I had noticed that one of his ticks was being unable to sit completely still. A bad habit for a hunter.
“It’s not that I mind talking about her. Talking about Allison is what keeps her with me. It’s the… the guilt that gets me these days,” he answered.
“The guilt of what?”
“Of feeling happy. It doesn’t feel right to… move on. To be happy without her here.”
He finally looked back at me. This was the most sad I had ever seen him. Even at Allison’s funeral he had been stoic, somber, held together. But before me was a man torn apart by grief and guilt. No longer did he put on a facade, and pretend to be okay.
I gave in to the instinct that was calling me to hold him. Slowly, so as not to startle him, I took him into my arms. Pulled him by the shoulders, standing on my toes to get my arms around him. I let my fingers dive deep into his hair, like my mother had done to soothe me as a child. He didn’t resist me, or push me away from him. Instead he melted into me. Wrapped his arms around my waist and sank his head onto my shoulder. As if we had been doing this for years.
I felt his breath on my neck. Felt the deep long sigh he let out. His leaning weight on me, the contact of his skin, as familiar as a lover. The man’s hair was as soft as silk.
“It’s okay to feel something other than pain for a while. I don’t think Allison would want you to be sad all the time. It’s okay to remember her and move on. It’s okay to feel happy, Chris,” I whispered.
We stayed in each other's embrace for a long while. That comforting silence falling back upon us. Not needing words to understand each other. Not needing to speak to be heard. Right now he just needed someone to lean on. And I was okay with being that person.
He finally pulled back, though he didn’t go far. He leaned his head onto mine. Now his warm breath was on my lips. He was so close I could nearly taste him.
I knew what was coming. Like every girl knew before the proposal happened. Or when her boyfriend was going to ask her to prom. I knew he was going to lean in. Part of me shouted to go away. To step out of his arms and keep the professional relationship between us.
I told that part of myself to shut up.
His lips descended onto mine warmly. He was no longer plagued with fever, but he held warmth. Warmth that ran through me and made me burst with flames of my own.
I let my eyes slip shut. Let the feeling of him being this close take me over. My fingers combed through his silk-like hair, while his own hands roamed over me. They had pushed some of my blouse up, getting us as close to skin on skin as possible.
Barely sucking down air he deepened the kiss. Pulled me as close as he could manage. I was still on my toes trying to reach him. Trying to get deeper into him. If I could have faded into him I would have.
He started to back up, pulling me with him. His soft full lips never left mine as we moved together. Slowly and carefully we sank into the mattress. Chris began to tug at my top as I straddled him, careful to avoid his wound. Though he didn’t seem to care.
His eyes burned in a way I had never seen. Burned bright with desire. For the first time in a long time he looked… alive. He looked like the same man I had first met. The one with a passion and a calling. I savored the look he gave me. Felt honored that it was me who had been the one to ignite it.
His lips found their way to my bare shoulder. Soft delicate kisses roamed over me. As I lost myself in the feeling of small fires starting up, I deeply hoped that I could keep him like this. That I could keep him alive in a whole new way for as long as possible.

That was then this is now.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/55078516 by Model_citizen Derek pauses his movement. “Look,” He starts. “you’re not exactly innocent in all of this either.” Stiles raises a challenging eyebrow and folds his arms. “I tried to talk to you before me and Kate...” Derek sighs. “Before we started to see each other.” Stiles scoffs. “Can’t believe you’re trying to blame me for you not knowing how to keep your dick in your pants.” “I’m not blaming you!” Derek barks. “I-I just want you to see that you don’t make things easy. We barely saw each other unless it was to drop off Eli at school or practice. And when we were in the same vicinity of one another, it was like I wasn't even there.” Stiles unfolds his arms and sniffles before looking at Derek. Really looking at him. “I’m sorry that you felt like I wasn't the perfect partner while working and trying to take care of our kid.” It’s sudden, but Stiles grabs a mug half filled with cold tea and lugs it at Derek. WHAT THE F*CK?!
Okay, first of all, I don't buy ANY of this.
You can tell, because Dylan's acting is spot-on. SOMETHING'S off. His attitude about all of this is WAY too laid-back, and his sudden ability to remember what happened and make the connections is TOO convenient.
Like, the Nogitsune is doing a good job, and it picked a good host, because Stiles is crazy smart, and he was really close to figuring everything out, and in any normal situation, everyone would be quick to trust his brain and his ability to make the connections, which is why they're trusting him now (though points to Scott for the wariness he clearly does have, even if he is going along with the whole thing). But like I said, it's TOO convenient. Suddenly Stiles just happens to be back, and happens to have some semblance of what's wrong with him, and is able to produce all of this evidence all of a sudden? No. Absolutely not.
And as far as the attitude goes, yeah, too laid-back. Yes, Stiles is a problem-solver, and yes, he uses humor and wit to cope and move on from traumatic events, but he has been REELING these last few days, and you're telling me all of a sudden, he's worked through it and he's more or less fine and is able to put two-and-two together and solve this case? No. I don't buy it. And I really hope nobody else does either.
With that out of the way, I waited a hot second to start a post, so let's react in order of events shall we?
As a general overarching thing, can we just reiterate how LOST Scott is without Stiles? Like, dude is so monotone and so just, like, mopey and lacking motivation and clearly hurting and upset. Like, he's trying, because he obviously wants to save his best friend, and he wants to save the town, but you can just TELL that he's missing a piece of himself without Stiles with him. He's lost his usual optimism, he's so stoic and impassive, and he just generally does not look or seem like himself. He just seems so...numb. Kudos to Tyler Posey for his acting on that, because it's really heartbreaking to watch, but it also makes me love and appreciate the Sciles relationship even more than I already do. Poor Scott. Poor Stiles. Please fix this so that you two can be together again. :( :( <3 <3
That said, Scott taking Isaac's pain? My heart. That hurt him so much, but he was willing to do it in a heartbeat to try to help his foster brother (also Allison's "I tried to tell them he doesn't have any" and Melissa's "He's got us." I CANNOT!! This little family. <3). Also, I really appreciate how well Scott handles Allison and Isaac's relationship in this moment when they're all at their lowest. Like, instead of being angry or hurt, like he has been previously, he's kind of come to accept it, and in a way, I think he's kind of grateful that the two of them have each other. The little soft touch to wake Allison up, the surprise when she grabs his hand that quickly turns into understanding about how desperately she needs comfort when she's so worried about Isaac, how willing he is to be that platonic comfort she needs knowing and understanding that worry...it's REALLY good, and I really appreciate that about Scott and his character and growth.
Since this is the next obvious segue, I find the different ways everyone is looking for and reacting to Stiles' disappearance soooo fascinating, and also frightening in some ways. Like, Allison is angry and was quick to blame Stiles ("Did Stiles really do this?"), which means she clearly cares less about the distinction, but then Scott (OBVIOUSLY) was super quick to shut that down ("The thing inside of him did."), because as far as he's concerned, Stiles didn't do sh*t (because he DIDN'T)--his body is just being used to do it. You see a very similar dynamic with Chris and Derek. If Chris finds Stiles and it's the Nogitsune, he basically admits to the fact that he will kill it, no hesitation. Meanwhile, Derek is clearly much more protective of Stiles and is a lot less willing to kill Stiles to get to the Nogitsune--more on Scott's side in that regard. Add to that Ethan and Aiden attacking Stiles the second they saw him, literally only stopping when Scott Alpha roared at them (because ALPHA!), plus Kira's mom ready to kill the Nogitsune in the hospital last episode, and you've got an interesting amount of people who don't seem to care that Stiles is STILL IN THERE. I guarantee you that's gonna make for some interesting dynamics later, because I also guarantee you that no matter what, Scott WILL NOT kill Stiles. He'd rather die than do that...which makes me worried, in a lot of ways, because it means Scott is probably accidentally gonna let a LOT of bad things happen to avoid losing his best friend, but I kind of don't care, because I love that he would let the entire world burn before he'd let anything happen to Stiles. FRIENDSHIP GOALS! <3
Meanwhile, our other three parental figures only KIND of know what's going on (based on how she's reacting, I'm assuming Scott hasn't told Melissa about the Nogitsune, and he OBVIOUSLY hasn't told the Sheriff (because suuuure Derek, that's a SUPER easy conversation to have with STILES'S FATHER. For crying out loud...), and Rafael is only just now starting to be enveloped in this supernatural world. (of COURSE Katashi's dead, because we can't just have nice things or people in this universe anymore, apparently), so...I'm sure all of that's gonna come back to bite us somehow in the end.
But Scott and Stiles are gonna let the world burn for each other, so WORTH IT, because FRIENDSHIP GOALS!! XD <3
Anyways.
What am I missing?
OH YEAH!!
THE REASON I TITLED THIS POST THE WAY I DID!!
NOT COACH FINSTOCK!!!
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
HE BETTER F*CKING BE OKAY I SWEAR TO GOD!! (Actually I kind of already know he is because I know he's in later seasons and in the movie, but THAT'S NOT THE POINT!!)
Like.
You cannot give me those scenes where he obviously SO DEEPLY cares about his kids and then be like "anyways he's shot with an arrow now."
Like, sure, dude's a hard*ss, and he pushes them and yells at them all the time. But he also so clearly cares about them sooo much.
His worry for Stiles, and the happy little shock when he shows up at the trail, followed by that small little smile I just...
And then the card for Isaac! The way he tells all of them that they better write a heartfelt message about how much they love him (because they SHOULD, because how could you not love Isaac??), and how much he clearly means it (also as an aside, of COURSE Danny was the first one to jump up, I love him. <3).
I just...
HE BETTER HEAL QUICKLY AND BE FINE GOSH DARNAT!!
As a happy little aside, the way the couples/love interests save each other I love it.
Ethan tackling Danny and not actually being able to fully explain, so just going with the "I missed you" and then that cute little make-out session I LOVE THEM!!
And then Scott grabbing Kira and swinging her around, and how she wasn't even fazed and just immediately got all excited about how fast she was, and Scott couldn't help the way he smiled a little at her endearingly even though he's, like, worried and upset and supposed to be saving lives because it was SO cute and adorable like I just...I LOVE SCIRA!! <3 <3
So anyways.
That was a long post.
My bad.
Cute Danny and Ethan gif because they're adorable and I want a happy gif. XD
Tumblr media
(Okay but the way Danny just immediately kissed back I CANNOT! <3)
Update: I'M TELLING YOU IT'S NOT F*CKING STILES!! THIS IS ALL JUST PART OF THE PLAN!! THE NOGITSUNE IS PUTTING ALL OF ITS CHESS PIECES ON THE BOARD AND TAKING YOURS OUT ONE BY ONE!! And it WILL get checkmate (don't mind me, I just recently read a book with a bunch of chess game metaphors in it), and you WILL LOSE! And I KNOW you all see that, so PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! PLEASE FIGURE IT OUT!! PLEASE!!

Characters: Stiles Stilinski, Isaac Lahey, Vernon Boyd, Erica Reyes, Derek Hale
Warnings: none I can think of
Words: 2083
Prompt: "I'll kiss you right now to prove I don't feel anything for you." But the kiss proves the exact opposite. For @msmischief101
a/n: remembering sending this like 600 years ago? Finally wrote it 🤣 sorry it took so long, love. I hope you enjoy it 💚
Lying Through His Teeth (ao3)
---
If you asked Stiles a year ago if he would be not only a fox, but a part of Derek Hale’s pack and living in the Colorado mountains with them, he’d have barked a laugh in disagreement. But you see, when it boiled down to it, after the whole thing with the Nogitsune, Derek was the first to believe that him and the demon weren’t one and the same. That Stiles was still himself. He could still look at the now fox and not see a monster that killed their friend. Rather the same mole speckled boy that’s just a touch more coordinated now.
A touch.
His feet still very much enjoy fighting with gravity.
Actually, the entirety of the Hale pack didn’t look at Stiles any differently after he was spat out from a carbon copy of himself. Erica and Boyd didn’t really take much convincing on the matter. After helping save Erica’s life and she called him a pretty good Batman, their friendship was set. Boyd also forgave him for shoving a flare in his face while he was trying to save him from drowning. And you know, saving his girlfriend and all that. So, the Betas love him.
Isaac?
Well, Isaac is a whole different situation. Not in the sense that he was angry at Stiles or didn’t trust him any longer. It was more so the fact that he’d been a part of pulling the wolf out of the metaphorical freezer- Isaac hiding under the bed while tripping balls on wolfsbane. That he now looked to Stiles when he needed someone to talk to. Isaac became closer to him than anyone else. Closer than Scott had once been and they’ve known each other since they were five. The Alpha couldn’t look past the Nogitsune killing Allison while wearing Stiles’ face.
But Isaac could. Because he knew that despite his crush on the late huntress, it wasn’t Stiles’ doing. Not his best friend whose bed he curls in after having a nightmare about his father. Not the boy who after he crawled out from under the bed and cried, held the wolf for as long as he needed. Consoled Isaac like an actual pack member. The thought never even occurred to the wolf. Not a single thing changed between them.
Well, actually, one thing did. The minor crush that Stiles formed on Isaac shortly after becoming friends with the guy got so much worse. Because it wasn’t a one way street. Whenever Stiles had a restless night remembering everything the Nogitsune put him through, the fox would make the short trip down the hall and into Isaac’s room. Curling up with the wolf until sleep finally found him.
At least he stopped trying to hide it. In the beginning, Stiles gave Isaac as much space and time as needed after they all hopped on the road to leave Beacon Hills- his father practically insisted Stiles go with them. Derek was now a true Alpha from selflessly sacrificing his powers to save Cora. Knowing he’d be more than protected, the sheriff loved the idea of his only son getting as far away from whatever the hell was wrong with his home town.
The best part? Aside from living with your crush and best friends? Pack nights. They all have their own spaces, things they do for themselves. And sure, they spend a lot of time together simply existing. But there’s just something different about doing it for the sake of being together. Who wouldn’t love a good, old fashioned puppy pile? No one. Everyone loves that shit. Most of all Stiles, a fox who didn’t think he’d be able to fit in with a bunch of wolves. He didn’t forget Noshiko’s warning that wolves and foxes tend to not get along. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth when it came to them.
They’re family through and through. Taking care of each other and loving one another unconditionally. The way it should be.
“Did you pick a movie yet?” Erica asks, plopping on the couch beside him, throwing her legs in his lap. The she-wolf’s purple fuzzy socks nudge his thigh.
Flicking through Netflix, Stiles sighs, “no, not yet. I’m certainly open to suggestions,” he says loud enough for the rest of the house to hear him. Isaac’s in the kitchen with Derek grabbing drinks while Boyd is paying for the pizza. The fox has been scrolling through their streaming services for what feels like hours and nothing is sticking out to him.
“We could finally rewatch Hemlock Grove,” Boyd offers, setting the boxes down on the coffee table. “It’s been a while, and Derek's been asking about it,” the wolf shrugs, scooping Erica up to place her in his lap, kissing her cheek.
“Yeah,” the fox huffs, “I’d thought about that too. Then I looked at it and saw most of it play in my head and lost interest.”
Isaac scoffs a laugh behind him, “of course you did,” stealing the controller from his hands and replacing it with a mountain dew. Before Stiles can let out a noise of annoyance, the wolf hops the back of the couch to squish himself into the corner next to him. “We’ll watch this,” he says, clicking on Love, Death, and Robots. The new season came out recently and Stiles has been dying to watch it. “No objections? Perfect,” he sets the controller down and nuzzles into the fox’s arm.
“I do,” Derek huffs, balancing the rest of the drinks in his hands. “I didn’t realize you offering to help meant you’d get only Stiles a drink and leave me to carry the rest.” The Alpha sits down in his massive recliner, tossing the rest of the drinks to Erica and Boyd. And Isaac. The wolf didn’t even grab his own.
“Shit,” Isaac mutters, looking at the green can in his lap like he didn't realize he didn't have one. “I’m sorry, Derek.”
Erica cackles seeing his own drink get handed to him, “aww, poor baby had to make sure his boyfriend had a drink.”
“What?” Stiles mumbles, teeth resting against the tab of the soda can. He likes Isaac, that much is obvious. He hasn’t tried to hide that fact for a long time. The fox will even blatantly flirt with Isaac, but it’s never gotten him anywhere. The wolf will smile or sometimes fire a compliment back. But that’s all there is to it. Isaac never pushes for more.
“He’s not my boyfriend,” the wolf in question grumbles, forcing his eyes to look at the screen and nowhere else. Watching the jeweled and gold clad woman scream at the soldiers.
“Bullshit,” Derek laughs. Honest to god laughs. “Do either of your beds smell like just yourself?”
“Hey-” Stiles starts to defend the matter. That none of their beds smell like just themselves. They all cuddle with one another. That’s not news to any of them.
But Isaac was already talking, “it’s not like yours does either. Is it so wrong that I help my best friend to come down from a nightmare? No, it’s not.”
Exactly! Isaac doesn't have feelings for him. A fact that Stiles is more than aware of. He’s all for teasing each other, but at least have it be a tease with some backbone to it. A little meat. Something more than just a baseless jab.
“Yeah, sure, that’s the only reason,” Boyd shakes his head with a smile, reaching to grab a slice of pizza.
“Aww,” Erica squeals, “look at you, Is, you’re so red! It’s cute!”
No he’s not. Stiles' eyes drag to the wolf and holy shit- Isaac’s blushing. Why the fuck is Isaac blushing? It takes longer than it should, Stiles can admit that. But every single cog clicks into place. Isaac only got him a drink, not even his own. Smushed himself beside Stiles when there was a perfectly good, unoccupied loveseat that he’d have significantly more room on. The way Isaac is still avoiding looking at him despite saying there’s nothing going on. The wolf put on a show that Stiles has been wanting to watch. And the beautiful, dark red staining Isaac’s cheeks and ears.
“Holy shit,” Stiles breathes out. “Holy fucking shit!” The fox flails, Erica’s legs curling out of his lap and into Boyd’s. He sets his soda on the table, turning to face the wolf. “You like me, don’t you?” Stiles smiles through the accusation.
“No,” Isaac’s eyebrow ticks as his heart stutters in his chest.
Stop it.
“Lie!” Boyd joins Erica in her cackling.
They all heard it. Isaac not doing a very good job of controlling his heartbeat. Blatantly lying to a room full of supernatural creatures like they wouldn’t have heard it.
“You actually have feelings for me,” Stiles nearly scoffs, eyes wide and jaw nearly on the floor. This can’t be real.
Isaac finally makes eye contact with him, stating matter of factly, “I’ll kiss you right now to prove I don’t feel anything for you.”
“Do it then,” Erica challenges without missing a beat. “We’re waiting.”
Stiles laughs for a second- hang on. What? Isaac just said he’s going to kiss him. How- who- what? How is that going to prove anything? Honestly, how is that going to do anything but hurt Stiles? Kiss him just to flat out say that you don’t like it. That’d do a lot more harm than good. Surely the wolf isn’t that cruel, right? But, there’s nothing more that the fox wants than to kiss Isaac. And maybe, just maybe, he’s being selfish in agreeing. Maybe once will be enough for him. A taste of what he's wanted for so long to stave off the craving.
“Yes, please,” Derek chuckles, “I really need to see how kissing him is going to prove anything. Well, other than the fact that you’re a bad liar,” the Alpha teases more.
When did Isaac get to his feet? Stiles gulps, looking up at the wolf holding his hand out for him. Isaac seems so sure of himself. Standing with his shoulders set and his chin inclined ever so slightly. Like he’s challenging himself too. Or maybe the fox, daring Stiles to make him feel something. Steeling his heart, the fox takes Isaac’s hand, rising to his feet.
Isaac cups his jaw, “you okay with this?” He asks, gently pulling Stiles closer.
Swallowing thickly, the fox nods, “y-yeah. You?”
“Absolutely,” Isaac confirms, free hand grabbing the fox’s waist and pulling their chests flush. The wolf leans down and presses their mouths together and Stiles forgets how to fucking breathe. It’s a total cliché, but there are one hundred percent stars bursting behind his lids right now. Isaac isn’t much better off, growling through a whine around the kiss, deepening it to suck on Stiles’ bottom lip.
But Stiles can’t push this farther than necessary, as much as it pains him, he tries to pull away. The hand on his waist falls to his hip, gripping tightly, preventing his movement.
Before the fox can make a noise in question, Isaac whispers, “don’t.” The wolf is panting into his mouth, not allowing him to back up even an inch. “Don’t you dare pull away from me.”
Stiles can’t even bring his eyes to open, whispering, “but you said-”
“Fuck what I said,” Isaac rumbles in his chest, crashing their mouths together again, swallowing the fox’s sound of surprise. Stiles melts into the wolf, happily opening his mouth to let Isaac slide their tongues together.
“Get a room,” Erica cheekily jabs behind them.
Stiles and Isaac chuckle into their kiss, the fox reaching behind him to flip her off.
“Seems like all you did was prove the opposite with that kiss,” Boyd laughs warmly.
“I’m sorry,” Isaac murmurs into the fox’s mouth, brushing their noses together. Promptly scooping him up and settling Stiles in his lap on the couch. “I guess we were such great friends, I’d rather suffer in silence than risk losing that if things ended messy. I should’ve said something sooner,” Isaac rubs his nose along the crook of the fox’s neck.
“Yes, you should’ve,” Stiles agrees, reaching for the wolf’s hand and smiling when Isaac laces their fingers together. “But I’ve got you now, right?”
“Damn right, pretty boy,” Isaac kisses his cheek. “Don’t worry, I’ll absolutely make it up to you later,” the wolf rumbles in his chest, squeezing Stiles’ waist.
He’s more than looking forward to it.

I don't know if this is... weird? A really strange scenario? Like, a group of friends who are very close, like 'friends with benefits' close. They're all into kinky shit, and above all else, they want to make each other feel good and have a good time. So maybe on day one of them gets fired, or demoted, or broke up with their partner, or something. And for the entire day, the friend group makes it their mission to make take their mind off of it entirely. Maybe they make their sad friend hit a blunt before they leave. They're light-headed and soft around the edges when they finally leave the house. They get swept into the food court and gorge themselves after a fit of the munchies, and then they're being handed tiny carry-on bottles of alcohol, and they're sculling down in the middle of the mall. They go shopping and pick out clothes and are handed a Redbull mixed with vodka. They have another hit in the car, feeling slow and numb while their friends make them feel good, and they go to cafes and dessert shops and buy every item of food that they look at, that they beg for, and they devour it with their bare hands. They're drunk out of their mind and can hardly see straight, are so high they can hardly remember their own name and can't form propper words with their numb lips, but they're happy, and they're loved. Their friends feed them so much food that they need their help to sit up, and they wrap both hands around it as they waddle from place to place. getting out of the car is difficult. But their friends are encouraging. "Here, you look like you need some more," they say as they press another bottle to their lips and tilt it back so they have no choice but to swallow, "You look like you need a little help", they say as they place the blunt to their lips. I just want someone to be drunk and high and stuffed all day, and for their friends to help them with it. All totally consensual of course!!
FUCK man i instantly thought of stiles. actually, not instantly. took me a couple days to reply i’m so sorry, extremely tired and ready to keel over and pass out rn
but imagine this ok. stiles and malia break up, wasn’t really meant to be, sucks but they talked it through and agreed that they weren’t really working. they’re still friends but no breakup is a walk in the park obviously, stiles is upset. rightfully so. so.
so maybe scott notices his buddy hasn’t left his apartment in a month or so. maybe scott decides to take him to the mall. retail therapy never hurt, right? he could bring a couple of his friends even!! so they make an outing out of it. allison and jackson and lydia come with, even though half of them supposedly couldn’t care less about stiles. they come anyways because scott’s really good at getting whatever the fuck he wants.
and maybe they bring stuff to help numb stiles, yeah? get him a little tipsy, maybe…. just the teensiest bit inebriated. It’s not like scott and his friends can anyways, more than half of them are supernatural beings who can’t get drunk off of alcohol.
so stiles let’s them whisk him around the mall, and while he knew it wouldn’t be as easy as it used to be back when they were teenagers, he didn’t expect it to be so tiring. it didn’t help that he had gained a good sixty pounds since, putting him well over two hundred. so they took breaks often. luckily, allison had a couple tricks in her purse. she had a couple spirits on her, because stiles was like her brother and she wanted him to feel even the tiniest bit better.
they glut stiles for hours, making sure he’s feeling full and fuzzy. his belly has rounded out from all the heavy greasy food courting they had done together. stiles was grateful for it, even as his mind grew softer and warmer, as he took everything that was given to him, even the spicy buffalo wings jackson had ordered as a joke. the lingering spice still burned his mouth now as they walked towards their respective cars, even as he slurped down the dregs of his extra large dr pepper.
he was stumbling, and holding onto allison and jackson, as scott and lydia held onto bags of clothes and shoes and whatever the hell they’d bought that evening. the sun was setting, and god was it beautiful. he could feel the lingering sadness slowly dissipate, as he stared at the pink sky, the orange clouds that floated above them…. stiles almost felt like he was somewhat apart of them, and if he stopped thinking hard enough he practically already was.
till a familiar car unlocked from across the parking lot aisle, not one that belonged to scott’s truck, nooooo no no no. no this particular clicking sound belonged to a much sexier car, a sweet delicious little convertible that, to stiles, always kicked his fight or flight into full gear.
it was Derek’s camaro.
stiles turned to see him, with his bloated belly on display between the flaps of his too small flannel. he was now acutely aware of how tight his pants were clinging to his fat ass and thighs, and how pinchy his flannel was around his elbows and armpits. he could feel the warm summer breeze sweep softly against the part where his belly folded over the tight waistband of his pants, at the place where his shirt didn’t quite meet his pants at all. god it was embarrassing.
god it was hot.
nope. no he was too goddamn drunk to deal with Derek effing Hale right now.
and yet he smiled and waved as Derek approached. he heard him mention something about going home. had derek been there at the mall all this time? surely not by himself, he’d never be caught dead at. th- Oh.
there they were. the three rowdy young adults in the back of dereks camaro, fighting over the passenger seat.
stiles couldn’t help but smile. his heart couldn’t help but swell (just like my gut, he thought idly to himself). someone was tugging on his arm but he didn’t care, he didn’t really want to get into the car. not when he could very much be with derek and his pack right now.
and when he heard derek ask them if they wanted to come over, he couldn’t help but blurt out a slurred, “Yesss! Holy shit. We could make a movie night out of it.”
and he really couldn’t help but melt when derek nodded (very obviously struggling to hold back a smile), and said, “Alright. Meet you at my place.”

Note
1,2, 9, 10 for scott/stiles 🥰
1. Who cooks?
scott cooks! he’s fairly good at it, too. stiles can survive on his own cooking skills: eggs and bacon, pasta and any combination of meat and veggies. they both started cooking at an early age and they cook for each other a lot. sometimes they’ll each make a dish with an exact serving of one. scott makes enough bacon and eggs for stiles to have breakfast which is ridiculous, and stiles says in that appreciative, squeaky tone, "dude. what are you gonna eat?" and scott just grins at him waiting for him to start digging in. stiles will make enough chili for scott to have two meals which is so ridiculous, so scott says he’s full when he’s not and leaves the rest for stiles, which stiles then leaves for scott. it’s all very ridiculous and when melissa visits she has to throw out so many containers of single servings of chili because no one wants to eat scott’s share.
2. Who’s the messiest? The cleanest?
they’re both messy, but scott is on another level. stiles’ messy is clutter and hoarding old things he should either trash or give away. scott’s messy is empty cartons on the counter and banana peels on the table. neither of them has an issue with the other’s lack of cleaning skills. melissa and the sheriff do, though. weekly facetime calls are now what scott and stiles refer to as "judgement day" because melissa will definitely ask to see around their apartment and scott is both too scared and ashamed not to tidy up before she sees the mess. one day she calls the day before she usually does and they panic but wordlessly decide scott will stall with his "most conniving little con artist ever smile" plastered on the screen, while stiles is crawling around flinging garbage into bags and kicking clothes under furniture. then he pops up behind scott suddenly like, "heyyyy, what a surprise, didn’t see you there did you want see our apartment?" and melissa is like, "no, i just called to say hi… and i could hear you the whole time, stiles."
9. Is someone multilingual? Do they try to teach another language to the other? How does it go?
scott speaks a little spanish, and he begs melissa to speak more to him in spanish now that he’s older, and she does. surprisingly stiles understands more of what she’s saying than scott does. scott also knows some french he picked up from allison and isaac, and japanese he picked up from kira and mason. he calls the yukimuras every month and they try to speak to him in both japanese and korean, which he is so delighted by every time. stiles knows random phrases in different languages and will respond accurately to scott practising japanese… they share a look and stiles mutters, "i have… no idea how i know that…" which scott responds to with silence. then he’ll touch his shoulder or lean his head on some part of him and tell him it’s fine and it’s not a big deal. they’re always quiet for a while whenever it happens, though.
10. Any pets? Or plants?
they do not have pets or plants. scott wants pets, but he feels bad he can’t take care of one properly because of his day&night job. they have fake plants because of lydia, who thinks their living space is in need of a serious facelift, even after she spent two hours trying her best to "spruce up the place". vet!scott sometimes takes home animals for a couple days and stiles gets attached to them very easily. they both like dogs, stiles does not like birds.

Teen Wolf 1x04
Well, the Alpha (who I’m still guessing is a lost Hale relative) is after her so she’s going to be like bus driver guy, except live because she’s a high enough paid actor that I recognize her face.
Well she’s definitely better prepared than bus driver guy. Another hunter?
So did Scott hear the gunshot because it was near his house or because it was near the Alpha?
Well that answers the hunter question.
Still don’t like the wolf CGI.
But now we have Fuckface and two Argents after the same thing. With luck they’ll all kill each other.
Oh man, Derek. That looks bad. If only you hadn’t been such a fuckface maybe someone would help you with your little problem. Who are we kidding though, Scott’s going to get dragged into this like he has with every single one of Fuckface’s problems. Probably get yelled at and/or attacked for no reason too.
So this episode is very much confirming that Allison knows nothing about the family business. Waiting until she’s older maybe? I wonder if that explains the gymnastics as a kid too, since Auntie Kate also has some moves.
Grades and supernatural shenanigans never seem to go well together. Lord knows Buffy had some hard times. But, like, between school, lacrosse, a job, dating, and shenanigans I can’t imagine he’s got a lot of free time. Or gets a lot of sleep, honestly.
Fuckface vs Douchebag. Fight! Fight! Fight!
Fuckin same, Stiles! Why do we even have this guy?
WHY SHOULD I HELP YOU IS A GOOD FUCKING QUESTION, SCOTT. And I still firmly believe there have to be other werewolves you can find somewhere. Maybe some of them will not actually be assholes.
I’m gonna be honest with you. Like the little kid in The Princess Bride, I’m skipping the kissing part.
Stiles face is a mood every time I see Fuckface.
You should drive him to the Hale house and dump him in the yard.
The green screen behind them is distracting. It keeps switching from suburbs to forest.
Have I mentioned how much I hate Fuckface lately? Because I still do. Literally every interaction with him involves manipulation or violence or is creepy.
Okay, so Kate was definitely involved in the Hale fire.
Still up in the air on whether it was justified. The Argents are a bit too trigger happy, but all evidence points to the Hales being violent, murderous assholes, so…
Is she going to like show him a gymnastics routine?
Ha! Lol. Okay, so first, that tracks with the trigger happy family, but second they were definitely training her in the family business on the sly.
The sign said they’re an international company. I wonder how big the family is and if they’re all hunters?
I still haven’t forgiven Chris for how shooty he was with Scott. But he does make me laugh.
The classical elevator music in the background is really selling this dinner scene. Interesting that they are the only married couple we’ve seen, though Mrs. Argent doesn’t seem to be much of a talker.
“I’m starting to think that wouldn’t be such a bad thing.” Starting to think? Starting to think? Scott, please remember this man has been nothing but a manipulative, creepy, violent threat to you and to people you care about. He has literally only helped you with one thing that you probably could have worked out yourself given enough time. You and Stiles don’t owe this guy shit.
What exactly is Fuckface going to do the next time? He certainly didn’t do anything the first time. Scott got called out against his will and still tried to help the bus driver. Fuckface did nothing; he is manipulating you!
Scott, you are both nicer and braver than I for sneaking through Kate’s things. And, oh, she’s gonna notice if you swipe that.
You should have taken a picture and looked it up later. Oh…wait…could his phone even take a picture or is this show set too early for that?
Okay, so the vibe I got from the rabid dog story is that Chris believes what he’s doing is right (as previously said, a good trait in a villain). He thinks that werewolves can’t be good and can’t be saved. That no matter how gentle they were, they will always give into the bite and he can feel pity for them because of that, but won’t hesitate to put them down.
Back to Kafka, Chris thinks once you have been transformed into a monster you can never be anything else.
I do not get that at all from Kate. Honest to god, I think she just likes killing things and doesn’t need much of a reason.
Both can be scary in their own way.
Also, grandfather is clearly also in on the family business.
Poor Scott didn’t get a lot of studying done.
Scott’s parents divorce is confirmed.
Allison is so great. Like, she totally goes after what she wants all of the time. I mean, it sucks for Scott at this particular moment, because she’s not going to have to bear the wrath of her dad, but still. I like that she stands up for herself and Scott.
Scott’s getting better at lying. He used to be really bad, but he actually looked like he had no idea what Kate was talking about. Now Allison definitely looked like she knew what Kate was talking about.
AHAHAHAHA! Allison you slay me.
Stiles, just, like, accidentally slip and shove it through his chest. It’ll be fine. Scott’s help you hide the body and no one will miss him.
Awww, look at Scott being so good under pressure and doing the exacting, delicate thing that needs to be done to save someone who’s been only cruel to him, absolutely flying in the face of everything Chris believes.
You know what, Fuckface deserves more than a punch but I’ll take what I can get.
Well, Scott, Chris would probably shoot you a little, and yet you are still right in that they’re a lot fricken nicer than Fuckface is.
Six years ago and not ten, which is a fairly significant change. Fuckface and Laura at school, so like maybe away at college? Eleven people trapped inside and Peter as the only survivor, which either means an extended family member out for revenge or Peter’s faking it. Or someone else got away and hid from Laura and Fuckface.
Also, the look Fuckface gets when Scott says the Argents had a reason to start the fire is so funny. Like bro, my buddy, my pal, you absolute shitstain of a human being, do you actually think you have represented your family (or werewolves in general) well? All the werewolves he knows have attacked and threatened him and others, murdered people, manipulated him and tried to force him into becoming a murderer like them. Of fucking course he thinks there was probably a reason.
All that he knows about the Argents is that they shot him while probably aiming for you, are weirdly intense, and raised a great daughter who is nice and kind and stands up for him.
“It’s what Allison will do,” insists the lying liar who lies with zero proof of that.
Okay, yup, Auntie Kate is the rogue and Chris can (theoretically) be reasoned with. He’d probably still break your window though. Possibly shoot you non fatally.

spring became the summer
WHAT IF... Erica Reyes was friends with Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski from the beginning?
[READ ON AO3]
This is an interlude to my Teen Wolf rewrite under the same premise.  It takes place between seasons 2 and 3A.  To protect herself, Erica cuts ties with Scott and Stiles in a very permanent way.  Allison finds out the truth about her mother's death and reaches out to Erica to apologize.  Stiles realizes he has feelings for Erica, but will it be too late?
[text from: Superman] Mom’s throwing a 4th of July party this year.  She invited some of her work friends, and both of you are invited.  Your dad too, Stiles.
[text from: Batman] We’ll be there.  You gonna come, Erica?
[text from: Superman] We’ve been trying to keep our distance, but you can’t freeze us out forever.
[text from: Batman] I keep asking Derek about you every time he drops by with updates on the alpha pack, but he won’t tell me anything.
[text from: Superman] Isaac won’t say anything to me either.  We miss you.
[text from: Batman] Yeah, and we’ll do whatever we need to make things right.  Just tell us how to fix this.
[text from: Superman] Please come to the party.  If not for me, then for my mom.  She’s been asking me about you.
[text from: Batman] My dad too.  He told me one of his friends found out your parents granted you emancipation.
[text from: Superman] We went by your house, but they were gone.  You’re gone.  Where are you?
Erica stared at her phone, reading the weeks of unanswered text messages Stiles and Scott had been sending her.  They’d also attempted countless phone calls, but those went ignored too.  She shouldn’t have been surprised they went by her house.  It was only a matter of time, which was why she had been so determined to get her parents out of town and herself moved into the building Derek had bought.  She had her own loft below Derek’s, with a secret stairwell linking them that he had built for emergencies.  It was nice to have her own space, but most days it felt rather empty.  She had Ellie, who loved their new home, but she never really imagined living by herself like this.
A lot about her life wasn’t what she had pictured.  Just a year ago, she was a completely different person.  She had been a nobody, with only two real friends and simple dreams that seemed so immature to the person she was now.  It was strange to think that she had given those two friends up, even if she knew it was the right decision for herself.  Scott and Stiles, whether they intended to or not, had caused her a lot of pain.  It wasn’t the kind of pain she could easily heal from now that she was a werewolf though.  It was the kind of pain that required time in order to properly heal, and for Erica, it meant space from the ones that had caused it.
Besides, she wasn’t a nobody anymore.  She had more people that cared about her, and a pack that was as devoted to her as she was to them.  It wasn’t uncommon for Isaac or Boyd to drop by unannounced, the former usually crawling into bed with her on the nights he didn’t feel like staying at Derek’s.  Jackson had also stopped by a few times before leaving for England with Lydia.  They were back together and would probably be conquering the halls again next fall, but first, they were going to spend their summer together overseas.  He had accepted his part in Derek’s pack before he left, all five of them piling together in Derek’s loft for a sleepover to solidify their bond.  They all felt stronger now, and that strength didn’t fade as Jackson left Beacon Hills for the summer.
Lydia had surprisingly kept in touch with Erica after that night in the warehouse, the redhead being the only person outside of the pack that Erica regularly spoke to.  The two girls found they had more in common than they expected, and it wasn’t long before they started confiding in each other.  Erica helped answer any questions Lydia had that Jackson had been unable to answer about the supernatural world, and Lydia comforted Erica when she finally admitted the feelings towards Stiles and Scott that she had been struggling with.  It was nice to have someone Erica could talk to about this sort of stuff, especially since the two people she normally spoke to about her problems were the source of this massive one.
There was one subject Lydia and Erica tended to avoid: Allison.  Erica had no doubt that Lydia was still in touch with Allison, but once Erica told Lydia about what had actually happened to Allison’s mom, they seemed to come to a mutual agreement not to bring the huntress up in their chats.  It wasn’t that Erica didn’t care about Allison anymore.  Deep down, a part of her still considered Allison a friend, even after everything she had done to her.  She just couldn’t bear to hear if Allison wasn’t okay.  No news was better than bad news, so she appreciated Lydia’s discretion.
Erica wondered if she would have been better off asking Lydia about Allison, as it might have prepared her for when she received a phone call from Allison herself.  “Hello?”
“Hey,” Allison greeted.  Her voice sounded different to Erica, but she couldn’t tell if it was just because she was talking so quietly or if it was because she was different from the Allison that had attacked her pack that night.  “I, um…  I owe you an apology.  Or a few, if I really think about it.”
“It wasn’t your fault,” Erica tried to comfort her.  “Gerard was-”
“Not just for that,” Allison cut her off.  “Gerard did manipulate me and use me to push his own agenda, and I hurt you because of him, but I…  My dad told me.  About my mom.”
“Oh,” Erica said, swallowing dryly.  No amount of warning from Lydia could have prepared her for this conversation.  “You don’t have to apologize for that.”
“She tried to kill you, Erica,” Allison reminded, as if she could have forgotten.  Erica heard Allison take a shaky breath, and when she began talking again, her voice was tight as she fought back tears.  “She tried to kill you, and you- you protected me from finding out, and I repaid you by nearly killing you.  I was supposed to be your friend.  I’m so sorry.  Do you think you could ever forgive me?”
“Of course,” Erica sighed, laughing softly when Allison practically sobbed in relief over the phone.  “We are friends, Allison.  Friends hit rough patches.  We just went through our first one.  We’ll probably hit a few more if you decide to stay in the family business, but we’ll figure it out.”
“Dad and I are done,” Allison assured her.  “We’re actually in France for the summer so we can reconnect with our roots and figure out what we want the Argent name to mean for us.”
“That’s awesome,” Erica encouraged.  “It would be nice if we could have you on our side instead.  You’re a hell of an opponent, but imagine what we could do if we were allies.”
“I like the sound of that,” Allison chuckled.  She grew quiet after that, and Erica could practically hear her thinking.  “I broke up with Scott.”
Erica bit down hard on her bottom lip and inhaled sharply through nose, exhaling slowly before admitting, “He told me.  I’m sorry.”
“Are you?” Allison asked, sounding less accusatory and more surprised.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Erica countered.  “He loved you, and you loved him too.”
“I know that you respected our relationship, but even I could see it,” Allison admitted.  “He might not have, but I did.”
“Allison, I-” Erica went to explain, but she was interrupted.
“It’s okay.  Really,” Allison assured her.  “I think if Scott ever did move on, I’d be okay if it was with you.”
“He loves you, Allison,” Erica reminded her.  “Regardless of my feelings, I can’t compete with that.”
“He loves you too,” Allison declared, and it was enough to make Erica’s heart falter in her chest.  “I just don’t think he realizes how he loves you yet.  I hope he does realize it, and I mean that.  You deserve that.”
“I don’t know what I deserve anymore,” Erica scoffed, blinking back tears.  “But thank you.  I hope you know, I would be happy if you two ended up together.  This year’s been really confusing for me, but as Scott’s best friend, I can’t deny how good you were for him.”
“Not all first loves last,” Allison mused.  “It would be nice if they did, but that’s not realistic.  I think, someday, we’ll all find the people that we’re meant to be with and we’ll all be happy, together.”
“It’s a nice thought,” Erica agreed, smiling softly.  “Will you keep in touch while you’re away?”
“Yes, absolutely,” Allison replied.  “Good luck with everything.”
“Thanks,” Erica nodded.  “Enjoy the rest of your trip.”
“I’ll try,” Allison chuckled, hesitating for a moment before ending the call.
Erica looked down at her phone, feeling like the weight on her chest had dropped a couple tons.  Allison had given her a lot of closure, and she hadn’t realized how much she needed that in her life.  She needed to regain some clarity, and she figured the best way to do that would be to close some of the doors that were leaving her mind so fuzzy.  Standing from her bed, she grabbed two shoe boxes from her closet and began flitting around her loft.  A couple of hours later, she had upgraded the shoe boxes to some large boxes she had used during her move into the loft.  Stacking one on top of the other, she carried them towards the door and set off for her destinations.
Later that night, Scott and Stiles would return home to find a box on each of their doorsteps.  Scott took his box directly to Stiles’s house, shocked to find he had one of his own.  They went up to Stiles’s room and opened the boxes, pulling out item after item from their lives with Erica.  There were photobooth strips, arcade tokens, movie tickets,  carnival prizes, Valentine’s Day cards, past birthday and Christmas gifts, and countless other objects collected over the ten years they had been friends.  She had kept so much, and each item they pulled out reminded them of a moment they had shared together.
“Why does it feel like she’s breaking up with us?” Scott asked, his thumb running along the edge of a framed photo of him and Erica that his mom had taken last summer.  Erica had joined him and his mom on their trip to the beach, and he had to practically drag her into the water.  The framed shot showed him with his arms around Erica’s middle, her hands gripping his arms as she squealed when the wave crashed against their backs.  He remembered how tired they both were on the drive home, Erica leaning her head against his shoulder when she fell asleep.  He had been so happy that day, which was such a contrast to the deep misery he was feeling now.
“Because she is, Scott,” Stiles muttered, flipping through a comic book he had found in his box.  It was The Brave and The Bold, issue #197, which had one of the sweetest moments between Batman and Catwoman in all of the comics.  He remembered the day Erica had bought the comic.  The two of them had gone comic book shopping together, and it was one of the few issues Stiles had read that Erica hadn’t.  He remembered teasing her about how she hadn’t read such an important comic for Catwoman and Batman’s relationship, but all she had done was stick her tongue out at him and place the comic in her arms to buy.  Over the years, he had seen her rereading this issue, often admitting it had become one of her favorites, and now he was holding it.  Because she didn’t want it anymore.  Because she didn’t want any reminders of him anymore.  She didn’t want any reminders of either of them.  “I guess that’s that.”
“What?  What do you mean ‘that’s that’?” Scott retorted.  “So she gives us all this stuff back and we’re expected to just give up on ten years of friendship?”
“If that’s what she wants!” Stiles shot back.  “What else are we supposed to do, Scott?  We have no idea where she is.  No one will tell us.  And even if we did know where she was, she wouldn’t see us.  She won’t even answer our texts.  And even if she did agree to see us, what are we supposed to say to fix this?  Do you even know why she’s mad at you?”
“Sort of,” Scott shrugged.  “I don’t know, but we should at least try, shouldn’t we?”
“I don’t think she wants us to, man,” Stiles pointed out.  “That’s why she gave all of this back.  This is her way of ending things with us.”
“That’s not fair,” Scott muttered.  “I didn’t- I don’t want the last time I saw her to be the last time I see her.”
“It’s not about what we want anymore,” Stiles muttered, closing his box.  “Erica wants this.  We haven’t been able to give her anything else she’s wanted.  Least we can do is give her this.”
Scott stared at Stiles before shaking his head, packing his box up, and storming out.  As he walked home, he thought about what Stiles had said, but he couldn’t accept it.  He couldn’t give up on Erica so easily.  He wasn’t sure he could give up on her at all.  It felt like all of his memories were tied to her, and the thought of losing her completely, of not making any more memories with her, broke his heart.  He threw the box onto his desk with a heavy thud, then fell down face first onto his bed.  He felt numb, and while he didn’t sleep, he remained laying there until Isaac showed up a few hours later.
“You awake?” he muttered as he hovered in the doorway, staring at Scott’s motionless body.  When he began to move, rolling onto his back, Isaac moved further inside and sat at his desk.  He noticed the box and pulled it open, glancing inside.  “What’s all this?”
“Erica dumped Stiles and I today,” Scott grumbled.  “That’s all of the stuff she didn’t want anymore.”
“Yikes,” Isaac replied, pulling out the same picture frame Scott had and smiling at the happy look on Erica’s face.  “Told you two to fix it before it was too late.”
“How the hell were we supposed to fix it when none of you would tell us where she is?” Scott snapped.  “If I didn’t know for a fact this came from her, I wouldn’t even know that she’s still in town.  Can you at least tell me if she’s okay?”
“Of course she’s okay,” Isaac rolled his eyes, putting the photo down and leaning back in his chair.  “She just doesn’t want to talk to you or Stilinski anytime soon and I don’t blame her.”
“How is that fair?” Scott growled.  “She didn’t even give us a chance-”
“Bullshit,” Isaac cut him off, standing and pointing an accusing finger towards him.  “She gave you ten years of chances, Scott.  If it took you this long to realize she was there the whole time, then you don’t deserve her.  Neither of you do.”  He shook his head and left Scott alone again, deciding he should probably check on his packmate now that he knew what she had been up to.
Scott fell back on his bed again, growling as he rubbed his face.  He knew that Isaac was right.  Erica had always been there, and intentionally or not, he had taken her for granted.  He hadn’t appreciated her for what she did for him, and in the end, he had lost her.  If she needed to separate herself from him, and from Stiles, to find her own happiness, then he wouldn’t stand in her way.  He only hoped that someday, she would be able to let him back into her life and give him a chance to be someone that made her happy again.
The summer passed slowly for Stiles, Scott, and Erica.  They each tried to keep busy, Scott and Stiles spending a lot of their time practicing lacrosse, while Erica threw herself fully into preparation for the battle against the alpha pack still to come.  Derek continued to give Stiles updates, and Isaac continued hanging out with Scott, but neither of them gave the two boys any information on their packmate, and despite still wanting to, they eventually stopped asking.  Stiles and Scott even resorted to asking Lydia and Allison about Erica once, but that proved just as fruitless, and resulted in almost identical rants that had them regretting ever asking.
About halfway through the summer, Boyd decided to go on a camping trip with his family.  It would require going out of state, and being out of contact for the week he was gone, but it was a tradition he didn’t want to miss out on.  Derek was worried about letting another member of his pack be so far away, but he had been making a concerted effort to provide his pack with whatever they wanted in life.  His priority was still to keep them all safe and alive, but he wanted them to be able to live too.
A few days after Boyd had left to meet his family, Erica ran into his mother at the store.  The woman began apologizing, admitting to not having Erica’s number, then handed her the missing poster she was distributing.  Boyd had never shown up at the campsite, and they hadn’t heard from him since.  Erica quickly wrote down her phone number for Mrs. Boyd, requesting she call her if she found or needed anything, then set off for the loft.  All she had to do was hand Derek the flier before he was calling Isaac and the three of them were going out searching.
They started at Boyd’s house, picking up on his scent that was a few days old, which confirmed that he hadn’t been there since he had left for the campsite.  As they followed it out of town, they came across Boyd’s car abandoned on the side of the road.  All of his camp gear was still inside, but there were broken windows and a claw mark along the passenger door.  Carved into the driver’s seat was the same triskele that had been marked on Derek’s door at the beginning of the summer.  The alpha pack had Boyd.
“We have to tell Jackson,” Erica insisted as they made their way back home.
“I think we should tell Scott,” Isaac added, his eyes widening when Erica glared at him.  “What?  Even if he’s not in the pack, he’s connected to us.  He could be in danger.”
“We should bring everyone in,” Derek decided.  “The alpha pack has declared war and taken one of our own.  I will call Jackson.  Erica, I want you to reach out to Allison.  Isaac, you’ll tell Scott and Stiles.  We need to find the alpha pack, but once we do, we’ll need as much help as we can get if we want to get Boyd back and beat them.”
“Yes alpha,” Isaac and Erica replied in unison.
“You two don’t go anywhere without each other from now on, okay?” Derek instructed.  “They got Boyd because he was alone.  We’re stronger together.  If you’re not at home, you’re together.  Understood?”
“Yes alpha,” Isaac immediately agreed.
Derek glanced over at Erica, raising an eyebrow to prompt her, “Yes alpha.”
Once they returned home, Isaac and Erica went to her loft while Derek stalked off to his.  They could hear him working out his anger above them, but they settled onto her couch, leaning on each other as they both worried about Boyd.  Erica put on a Harry Potter marathon on TV, then they each pulled out their phones to reach out to their assigned people.  Allison promised to talk to her dad and to get a last minute flight home if they found the alpha pack before she was planning on returning for the start of the new school year.
“You know you’re going to have to talk to them, right?” Isaac asked, not looking at her as he continued tapping at his phone.  “We’re going to have to work with them, so you can’t keep ignoring them.”
“If it means getting Boyd back, I don’t care,” Erica replied, swallowing dryly as she inhaled through her nose.  “It won’t change anything anyways.  I’m not getting involved in their mess again.  I closed that door.”
“Yeah, I don’t know if giving them all of the stuff you kept over your ten year friendship is what I would call ‘closing that door’,” Isaac disagreed.  “Especially since all it did was make them want to make up for every single wrong they’ve ever done to you.  You know Jackson told me Stiles asked Lydia about you?”
Erica sat up at that, staring over at Isaac with wide eyes.  “He did what?”
“Mhm,” Isaac nodded, glancing up from his phone to meet her eyes.  “I guess Scott asked Allison too, because she and Lydia had, like, an hour long phone call about it when Jackson and Lydia were supposed to be going out for dinner.”
“You’re lying,” Erica insisted, but she knew by his steady heartbeat that he wasn’t.  “Why would they do that?”
“Because they’re going crazy without you?” Isaac proposed.  “Maybe they’ve finally come to their senses.”
“No, shut up,” Erica snapped, standing up and walking away from him.  “Why do you keep pushing this?  I told you I was done with them.  I told you everything that has happened between us.  You know how much they’ve hurt me.  Why do you keep pushing me to forgive them?”
“Because you’re going crazy without them too, Erica,” Isaac pointed out, standing and taking a step towards her.  “Look around!”  He gestured around her loft, and for the first time, she noticed how bare it looked.  So many of her belongings had gone into those two boxes for Scott and Stiles, and without them, her home- her life looked empty.  “You are not you without them, and you know it.  I’m not asking you to let them close enough that they can hurt you, but ignoring them forever is going to kill you.”
“Loving them nearly killed me too, Isaac!” she shouted, covering her face with her hands as she felt herself start to tear up again.  “Ugh, I’m so tired of crying over them.  You’re right.  My whole life was wrapped up in them, and now look at me.  I don’t know who I am without them.  That’s not healthy!  That’s not normal!”
“You’re a teenage werewolf.  Nothing about you will ever be normal,” he retorted.
“You’re not listening!” she growled, charging him and knocking him to the ground.  They grappled for a few minutes, knocking over some of her furniture before she finally pinned him.  “Until I figure out who I am away from Scott and Stiles, I can’t be around them.  Not the way we used to be.  If I go back to them too soon, I’ll just get wrapped up in them all over again.”
“I think you’re making a mistake,” Isaac told her, honest but coming from a place of concern.
“Then it’s my mistake to make,” Erica replied, getting off of him and helping him to his feet.  “I’m going to make sure Derek’s okay.  Clean this place up.”  She gestured to the mess they had made while fighting, quickly leaving her loft and missing Isaac’s exasperated groan.  She glanced up at Derek’s loft above, but then found herself making her way downstairs and outside.  She would go and check on Derek eventually, but her insatiable curiosity had her leaving the building and making her way to Stiles’s house instead.
As she got closer, she started listening to the house and realized Stiles wasn’t alone.  His dad was gone, the cruiser not parked in the driveway, but the heartbeat was familiar.  Scott was with him, and they were talking about Boyd.  At least, they had started by talking about Boyd.  She climbed up the outside of the house and settled with her back against the wall next to Stiles’s bedroom window just as their conversation shifted.
“So, uh, I’ve been thinking about it,” Stiles began.  “And I think I like Erica back.  I don’t know if I love her, because I’ve only ever loved Lydia, but I’m losing my mind not talking to her.”  He paused, and Erica crept closer so she could look inside to see him scratching the back of his neck.  “I miss her.  A lot.”
“I miss her too,” Scott admitted, his back to the window.  “But how do you know you miss her because you like her back and not just, you know, because she’s your best friend?”
“Because I’ve been dreaming about her,” Stiles confessed, a hopeless grin growing on his lips.  “That’s never happened before.”
“What kind of dream?” Scott asked, his shoulders tensing slightly.
“I don’t know,” Stiles shrugged.  “Sometimes we’re just hanging out in my room, reading comic books or listening to music.  Sometimes we’re driving around together, but uh, in those ones, we’re usually holding hands.  Sometimes we’re at the formal, and she’s wearing that black dress again, and I ask her to dance instead of Lydia.  Sometimes we’re kissing.  Those ones are the worst because I wake up and wonder if kissing her is like how it is in my dreams.”
“It’s better,” Scott blurted out, staring at the floor as he remembered what it had been like to kiss Erica last year.  When he looked up and saw Stiles’s expression, he cleared his throat.  “I mean, she’s a good kisser.” He hadn’t been in his right state of mind when it had happened, but he remembered exactly what kissing Erica was like and how it had felt.  “Does this mean you’re over Lydia?”
“Lydia’s with Jackson,” Stiles reminded him.
“That wasn’t the question,” Scott replied, crossing his arms over his chest.
“I don’t know, okay?” Stiles stammered.  “Maybe?  It’s hard not to think it’s not actually going to work out between us when she goes off to England with the guy she’s in love with.”
“But you think it could work out between you and Erica?” Scott questioned.
“Yeah,” Stiles nodded, sitting up a bit straighter.  “I mean, maybe.  I’d at least like to try.”
That was more than Erica could take, her feet stumbling over each other as she rushed down to the ground.  She didn’t stop moving until she was far from Stiles’s house, her heart racing with every step she took.  Stiles liked her.  Stiles had been dreaming about her.  Stiles had been dreaming about kissing her.  And on top of all of that, there was something she had noticed and couldn’t seem to get past.  Scott had been quick to admit she was a good kisser, even though he had only really kissed her once when he was under the influence of the full moon.  More than that, he had seemed jealous over the idea of Stiles and Erica.  Her mind was reeling as she took off running faster, as if she could run fast enough to escape all of the confusion she had just stepped back into.  She shouldn’t have gone to Stiles’s house.  She should have just gone upstairs and worked out with Derek like she had told Isaac she was going to.
One minute, she was running, and the next, she was being tackled to the ground.  “Get off of me!” she shouted, struggling to fight off the figure that had attacked her.  They were too strong.  They were stronger than a human, certainly stronger than a normal werewolf.  Her eyes widened when she realized it must have been one of the alphas, but just when she opened her mouth to howl for help, she was being knocked out with a hard punch to her face.
The next morning, when Derek went to check on his betas and only found Isaac, he became angry.  When Isaac told him that Erica had said she was going to go up to see him last night, he became furious.  When he tracked Erica’s scent from the loft to Stiles’s house, he became enraged.  When the scent disappeared the same way Boyd’s had with the same triskele carved into the ground, he became panicked.  Isaac and Derek tried to track her down, backtracking and checking the surrounding areas, but she was gone.  The alpha pack now had two members of his pack, and they still had no idea where they were hiding.
His instincts as an alpha were to surround himself with as many people to protect himself, but he knew by doing that without a plan of attack, he was just putting those people at risk.  He texted Jackson to tell him about Erica’s abduction, but ordered him to stay in England until they found the alpha pack.  Jackson promised to get a private flight if necessary to get home as soon as the alpha pack was found, but agreed to stay put for the time being.  He then asked Derek if he could tell Lydia and Allison, and Derek hesitated before agreeing.  Together, Derek and Isaac made their way to Scott’s house, slightly relieved to find Stiles already there with him.  Melissa was gone, likely at work, so they walked right inside and up to Scott’s room.
“What are you two doing here?” Scott questioned, standing from his bed while Stiles shot up from his spot at the desk.
“Where’s Erica?” Stiles added.
“They got her,” Derek told them, his jaw clenching.  “Last night.”
“They-” Stiles muttered, falling back into the desk chair as his jaw dropped.
“Where are they?” Scott growled, his hands clenching at his sides.
“We don’t know,” Derek admitted.  “Not yet.”
“Then we’ll find them and we’ll get her back,” Scott declared.
“Her and Boyd,” Isaac reminded.
“They could still try to get to any of you in the meantime,” Derek warned.  “I know you’re not technically pack, but you need to be careful.  Jackson, Lydia, and Allison are staying away until we’ve found the alpha pack, so it’s up to us.  Scott, I’ll need you to go out looking with Isaac.  Neither of you should be alone until we’ve found them.”
“Are they going to kill her?” Stiles asked, his voice so quiet, they might not have heard him if they weren’t werewolves with enhanced hearing.
“I don’t know,” Derek said honestly.  “I know we’ll feel it if they do.  When a member of your pack dies, it’s like…  It’s like losing a limb.”  He looked away, thinking about all that he had already lost.  He couldn’t lose the pack he had made.  He couldn’t lose the family he had found.  “The sooner we find them, the less of a chance they have of killing her.”  He nodded to Isaac, and the two of them left, leaving Scott and Stiles in ruins on their own.
They spent the rest of the summer scouring Beacon Hills for some sign of where the alpha pack had taken Boyd and Erica.  Neither of their bodies popped up, which they considered a good sign, but as the weeks passed, they started losing hope.  A couple of weeks before school would start up again, Isaac and Derek woke up in the middle of the night in agonizing pain.  Derek managed to carry himself to his beta as he called Jackson, who answered the phone whimpering from the ache echoing throughout his body.  Derek had to take a few slow breaths before he could explain what had happened and try to help his betas through it.  He had no idea who it was, but there was no denying the awful truth: Erica or Boyd had been killed by the alpha pack.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF STILES’ FRIENDSHIP WITH ALLISON.
#twedit#stallison#stallisonedit#allison x stiles#stiles x allison#UNDERRATED BESTIES!!!!!#do i want them to kiss? yes but i want everyone to kiss#i also tried not to include moments that i would have to cut scott out of it bc that bugs me personallylike i dont wanna#erase scott? to push. the bestie narrative. you know.but i did crop him out of that woods scene im sorry#i just think theyre so cute in that scene. her chin on his shoulder. theyre BESTIES#i wish they'd gotten more screen time becaues i think they're so sweet genuinely like it's really just.#like scott and stiles take care of each other! and now allison is there and they're all doing stuff together#and they're all still young and new and fresh and wideeyed and obviously scott's people are stiles'#so scott takes to her so stiles takes to her#and i wish stiles and kira had gotten a similar thing!! they do have sweet moments and like stiles had a love interest#so screentime was diff etc and also just the writing and the balance of things had to chagnge as they had more stuff going on etc etc#but there's something so sweet about the original three (and then four once lydia gets further involved) taking care of each other#and caring about each other#and frankly if i had to choose i do in fact want scydia besties to win over stallison besties so im glad they DID#but i do love stallison besties i think they're so sweet and like just the way the show kind of splits pre and post allison#and how allison is a reminder of simpler times getting harder but not THIS hard and i think too#how stiles and allison really did help each other come into their own as human members of scott's pack (THE ORIGINAL PACK!)#i've been talking for so long i just think they're so sweet and you can see how comfy they are with each other in the few scenes they had#OH SHIT UHHH#DEATH TW#SORRY#also i think that scene in 302 where he's like OKAY! SOME MANGLING!! GET OVER IT is an underrated bestie moment#i see that scene so mcuh but never as a bestie moment theyre BESTIESSSS#also scott's little nod as hes saying thats  an important distinction. theyre so cute#its not in this set but just know that it was cute
