Meet Aurora

It’s been a while since I posted any art since I started Uni but I couldn’t help but share one of my ocs for @stygianeyedev ‘s Sacrarium series. I’ve been obsessed with both Pario and Gelus, and dragged one of my friends into it. Especially with Heimos, he’s our fav. Anyways, I have more information about her under the cut. I do plant to share more little tidbits and fun facts about her as I draw her and my Pario MC more in the near future, but for now just keeping it simple-ish for now. More under the cut

Age: Late 20s

Pronouns: She/Her

Gender: Female (Intersex/Trans) Sexuality: Bisexual (although could be open to poly if she chooses to.) Profession: Town Baker (former), Witch of Mt. Gelus

Personality: Aurora, is a kind-hearted soul, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. To everyone she met, Aurora has been a shining beacon in the community and doing her part. She can also be quite outspoken and rambunctious, especially when it’s with getting a reaction out of her friends and loved ones. She can also very much be a little gremlin for the hell of it and especially loves to tease Heimos ( and potential other partners in the future maybe out of love, of course). Hobbies: Cooking, Baking, Basically anything related to the culinary arts. Likes : Stargazing, Learning Magic, Reading, Sketching, Playing with the ravens and in the snow.

Dislikes: Failed Experiments, Being Sick, Bitterness, People assuming her skills for someone other than herself.

Backstory: Aurora's story isn't too much diverted from the story told in Gelus. However, Aurora wasn't just the only baker in the village, she also helped out at the Butcher when she finished her tasks. Yet, because of her love for cooking, along with her motherly deposition, she became an ideal romantic target for many of the male bachelors of town. Aurora waved off their many advancements, especially since she felt they only wanted her as a housewife, mother and maid rather than a lover. This was especially present with Erik, who always made comments about her hobbies and job to be the perfect homemaker, which led to the huge argument before his passing. Of course, then we know what happens after that and... all's well that ends well. Aurora gets to live a happy, long immortal life with Heimos and actually being seen for herself, rather than a homemaker.

sometimes people see me knitting and they ask me what i am making but they have misunderstood. i am not knitting to achieve a goal. what i am knitting is an occupation for my hands while i watch tv because otherwise i am incapable of watching tv. i am knitting a distraction. a hand-occupier. a fiddle activity.

I'm back to wearing my sweaters again, but the other day it was warm enough that I ended up pulling out the vest I improvised last fall! there are a few things I'll do differently next time (if I don't end up following a pattern instead!) but I'd forgotten how cheerful it is, & how nice it is for spring 🌱

Sweater finished on time! Too bad I utterly fucked up when planning and ended up with a 3XL sweater instead of an XL. The sleeves are so long my fingers don’t even touch the ribbing.

if im able to finish this bonnie costume before friday i'll be over the moon (yes bonnie from fnaf i am cringe i am free whatever), mainly b/c I just went through all my yarn (i'm constantly reorganizing if you have any yarn storing tips pls message me) and I found more purple yarn which means I do not actually have to carve out time to go to joannes and get more. I'm nearly finished one front panel, halfway finished the second panel, of a sweater for the body. Then it would just need sleeves and I do need to make a little circle that'll attach to the sweater. And then I have the hat finished (yes its rough and not that great BUT it's my first fucking hat and Im proud of it still), so for that all I have left to do is make the actual bunny ears and then attach those to the hat. All in all and tldr I am truly close, this is the point in a project where i either finish it super quickly OR this is the point where I'll start slowing and wont finish it until much later

Crafting update! - I think I can make bats the same way I make giant manta rays, theoretically meaning I could make giant bats -idk what I'm going to make next but it might be a Winter Soldier Bear? - I got pretty much zero crafting done today but I did get through insurance hell! All the applications filled out, selections made, and it is DONE - I did finish a beanie today! No pictures of it yet, but another knit donation beanie is done

everytime a new show or movie has crochet/knitted clothes ppl are always asking how other ppl make the piece without a pattern and like... girl just look at it.

#other #t talks #that new wednesday show apparently has a lot of knitted pieces so ppl have been asking how to recreate them #and so far aal the pieces ive seen have been like.. really simple looking patterns #like its a checkered pattern of 6 squares in the round till you hit the armholes then its knit flat #and you decrease on the front panel for the v-neck then sew the 2 halves back together and add ribbing #and for a crochet version youd just do the same thing just with crochet stitches instead #(tho personally i wouldnt crochet it in the round. id make a front and back panel then sew em together since crochet has a v noticeable- #join at the begining of every row when its in the round) #but like 90% of all crochet n knitted pieces all have the same construction #but like.... how have they made multiple projects but are confused by a square vest with no shaping...its literally just squares....

so. almost done with the heel turn of the second sock (meaning just another hour at most of knitting left) and just realized that i knit the second sock with one stitch more per needle than i did the first. last pair of socks was 14 stitches per needle, this pair was supposed to be 13. the gauge is 7 stitches per inch (3 stitches per cm) so this is an extra half inch larger in circumference.

#was wondering why the heel turn numbers seemed a little off #but i was only working on this at work and its a lot more acceptable to be knitting than to be on my phone #so i never ended up checking my notes bc i kept forgetting to during breaks #also was not confident that i had actually taken any notes to begin with #or where i had put them if indeed they existed at all #im just gonna keep knitting it. id rather risk the last hour of knitting ending up with a still wearable pair of socks #because 8 more hours of work is just as annoying as 9 more hours of work #im also wondering if i can do some sewing to bunch up the top a little or maybe a crocheted cable #if that ends up drawing the sock in. will probably experiment #im not actually worried it wont fit me (i knit socks for myself with a lot of negative ease) #but im extremely sensitive to pressure on my feet and the lack of it from socks is very uncomfortable #so if one sock is looser than the other i will start to lose it #(like in the Fork Theory ? uneven socks is a hundred forks. my tolerance for anything else unpleasant becomes zero #so ! it might not be perceptible (these both have ribbing and that may distract from the size significantly #we will see. #always something these days. #i will admit most of those somethings are caused by my brains inability to hold a stable memory #everything is all blended together and i cannot remember when anything happened or the context of it #i wonder somewhat if its gabapentin symptoms. i was doing fine for a while but ive been taking more than the usual dose #to try and combat symptoms but like good god i feel like my brain has been stuffed full of wool #not even in a fun way #eesh. anyway i will continue to knit this sock i suppose #knitting #sock knitting #woes

recently i decided to start playing a new mobile rhythm game as i wait for sif2 to come out in english and a day later i nearly chopped off the top 4mm of my index finger by accident (blanket knitting incident). is the universe itself trying to stop me.

#unfortunately for the universe im a thumbs player so index finger injuries dont change much LOL although because i hold the phone in the #rest of my fingers sometimes i put a little too much pressure on the busted index finger and i need to mel blanc scream #also the knitting incident was very foolish. i was sewing a bunch of knitted squares together into a blanket and accidentally cut #my finger when trying to cut an end. i normally use really dull scissors but these were super sharp so i think i wasnt used to it orz #also the game i started in ensemble stars. i was actually gonna start prosekai but that kept crashing so i had to go with ensemble stars #very fun so far and i really love the art. its also shocking how good the cg is. im a love live person im not used to this kinda quality #mostly started playing because im inexplicably enamored with that little green bitch from edens high note in faith conquest #but the rhythm gameplay is very similar to sif so im having a bit of fun! i'll probably keep playing until i get bored (bad with mobage) #(its a miracle that i had gone through the tutorial before in an attempt to play it a year or so back. i literally hate mobage tutorials so) #(so so so so so so much. its the reason i cant start most mobage i have the tutorials HJFKLDHKJFLDS) #(but i had already done it apparently so i was able to just kinda jump back in) #ALSO the finger seems to be healing fine it is only like 3-4mm and i didnt cut it all the way #so its staying together under a bandaid fine! be careful with ur knitting scissorss

me like: i wonder what would happen if you tried to quilt partially/fully-felted roving to an outer cotton shell. like could you make weird hippie sweatpants or would getting the wool felted enough to be quiltable onto the cotton without an inner woven layer to sandwich it in place make it too not-fleecy to have the right feel. 🤔
