i hate it when people are like "i wonder who iruma is gonna end up with" like is ameri just a brick wall to you guys or?
#oh but clara always has moments with him!#like 90% of the time they just further develop her character and also those scenes dont come close to the amount of scenes ameri and iruma h#have together#like maybe its cuz its a shounen manga so people dont readily recognize the shoujo typical scenes but god damn pls use your brain#saw someone mention chima?? as if she wasnt introduced with a pedestal crush at the same exact moment as irumas supposed harem was comically#and explicitly pointed out in universe#like i dont really like ameri and iruma as a couple but i dont hate it either you know#id prefer there werent any romance at all beyond the crushes bc i feel like the manga is very about found family and finding your place in t#the world or whatever but also the romance aspect does add to the theme of iruma learning how to finally be A Person with wants and needs#but anyways#i forgot where i was going with this#like if youre gonna speculate about the endgame romance like some loser with no reading comprehension at least mention azz lmao#anyways#i owned the braincel for 5 minutes today and this is the result#michi tag#OH I REMEMBER WHAT I WAS GONNA SAY#i saw some people mention they dont like ameri bc shes very static as a character WHICH they have a point what with the way the majority if#of her scenes have her flustered over iruma BUT this ignores the fact that HER character arc revolces around converging the two sides of her#persona which is The Student Council President and Just Ameri The Student#and just as the romance is an integral part of iruma learning how to be A Person the romance is integral to ameri learning how to love and b#be herself you know? two different vut same character journeys we love to see it#i saw someone else complain about azz being a static character too and i have So Many Thoughts on that but thats for a different post lmao#just know the fact he hasnt ranked up Once in 250 chaps and 1 full year in universe is a critical part of his entire character and also what#will lead to his absolutely amazing character development that is just on the horizon i can fucking smell it from here#anyways im done now <3

please tell me all about in the blood (no pressure, i am genuinely interested though!!!!!!)
AHHAHHAHHHHHAAAA YES OKAY THANK YOU ELI
OKAYYYY SO in the blood, doctor who extended universe book, i think it takes place pretty soon after the Silence in the Library arc cos that's mentioned quite a bit, and Donna's husband Lee (who was, i may add, i think going to be canonically trans but they weren't sure how to show that in a split second without it being confusing but he's trans in my heart) from the simulation is on Donna's mind a fair bit so my guess is it's pretty soon after that ANYWAYS, fairly standard doctor who plot, big problem with technology and people on earth and of course it's because Aliens. specifically its that internet trolls are dying and ofc The Internet gets worked up about that, but as more and more people start venting their anger online everyone gets more and more angry and they become hysterical and sometimes die. which obviously is a big problem they have to solve, i won't give away the plot but its fairly average dr who stuff.
BUT. OHH BOY THE CHARACTERSSSSSSSASASSaSSASaSAS i mean i love ten & donna anyways but they are written SO WELL like SOOOO WELL it's SPOT ON and it's so perfect because they do the same things they always do - the doctor is fully prepared to die (well. very painfully regenerate) just as he always does and uhhh actually maybe it's better if i take pictures there was a lot of frantic margin scribbling & underlining hehee
uhm. spoilers below. and very long post
Tumblr media
my handwriting is nigh-on-illegible here i know but it says 'she remembers the Arachna-things [one google search later - Racnoss] from the Runaway Bride she knows he has killed people & that people get killed around him but... [long pause here as i thought of what to write. how do you justify that? greater good?] yeah i can imagine it really is easier to not think about it'.
this is just such an interetsing thing that they couldn't have shown in the show right, you can't show 'she didn't even really like to think about it' visually with the same impact. but like.... yeah. she saw him kill all the racnoss & still travels with him. moral grey areas flawed characters but.... the companions must do some serious mental gymnastics NOT TO MENTIOn the Doctor coping mechanisms or lack thereof.
Tumblr media
^^but then there's this!! the hope!! he really can't stand people dying even when he is surrounded by it!! he has to hope!!!
Tumblr media
^^ platonic doctordonna moment!!!!! i love them so much heheeee but also Lee.... oughhhhh
Tumblr media
^^ SUCH A DOCTOR MOMENT he HAS to carry on for the sake of THE WORLD even when it means Donna is at risk
Tumblr media
^^handwriting id - 'see THAT is such a Doctor moment - just like ' 'yeah i knew for ages', lied the Doctor' - he doesn't tell people things b/c he doesn't want to upset them & he hopes that if he doesn't mention it it wont happen. if you see your own grave you have to be buried there etc. & it's maddening for everyone but also kinda tragic'
the doctor was hiding that what Donna thought was going to fix the problem wasnt going to work b/c then she's get upset & angry, which spacey stuff blah blah is whats currently killing people - but Ten (teh Doctor in general) does this A Lot, not saying everything he knows because he thinks it's going to upset/panic/hurt people/
Tumblr media
^^ THIS!! he needs his best friend!!! without saying anything & over the phone, Donna can tell!! ajsnjansh i just love them so muchhhh
Tumblr media
^^ (they were back in london in present day) the Doctor feels guilty about pulling Donna from her normal, safe life, even though like she wanted to he probably couldn't have said no to that if he tried - and putting her in mortal space danger - but also completely removed from her normal life. she doesn't live like Clara, who fits weeks of time travel in time to show up to work, she's missing out on Normal Life. she's not at home. Sylvia knows she wont be staying for dinner.
sorry a lot of this is kinda depressing BUT i promise you there are joyous bits too! the Doctor is canonically a Kate Bush fangirl!!! and donna has to stop him drinking coffee cos he'e hyperactive enough as it is lol. and -
Tumblr media
hehe

When Calls the Heart Live Ramples
Season 8 episode 9 Pre Wedding Jitters
That scene in 👏Nathan's 👏office👏 The lines they wrote for Kevin *chef's kiss* perfection. I mean, I still dont like this whole secret reveal thing. I think it's so dumb. Like, ain't no way the writers intended Nathan to have this secret when he first came to the show. I don't think he was suppose to have any secret at all. I mean, this whole, 'There's something he's not telling me' thing came out of nowhere. That aside, the love confession was great, again, and he left Elizabeth speechless again and she ran away, AGAIN. That tells me all I need to know. She cannot deny this man BECAUSE SHE LOVES HIM. And if y'all think otherwise than you're delusional.
The game at the bachelorette party. It was obvious from the promo for this episode how this would play out. She reaches for Nathan's hands and thinks he's the one. (I was predicting that she would know it was Nathan and then feel uncomfortable and move on, but that didnt happen. She thought he was Lucas *bleh. Though I was still right in thinking Nathan would be 'the one' during this little game). We like that. I really liked how the party scene lasted longer than I expected. It wasnt even too long of a scene, but it was definitely long for When Calls the Heart. This show really needs to work on it's pacing. Everything happens so fast bc they have to cut to the millions of side plots that happen in every episode. My gosh, would they give us some focus please.
When Lucas came by Elizabeth's house in the morning I enjoyed that they interacted more casually with each other it seemed, at least it did on Elizabeth's part. Just through small details like the way she was casually leaning in the doorframe or her tone of voice. She wasnt so awkwardly polite...but Lucas still was. Lucas is so polite it's uncomfortable. Like I don't feel like anybody could just be themselves around him, bc it's like every meeting has this awkward air of being polite to an acquaintance you dont know well. Ugh it's so weird. I didnt like that Elizabeth told him Nathan's reveal. I feel she should have kept that to herself. Ugh and then Lucas wanted to act all protective and 'talk' to Nathan. Oh please. That is not his place. Elizabeth is obviously the one who needs to talk with Nathan and it's no one else's business what goes in between them, besides Allie of course. And speaking of Allie, I thought her scenes were really good and thoughtful. I still think it was weird that Lucas got her a gift for her adoption ceremony, but whatever we are past that now. I like that her character is being more mature about everything too. I really hope we get a scene where Allie and Elizabeth have their own conversation though. They need it. I'm not sure how I feel about that obvious Paul (Florence's son) having a crush on Allie. It seems that the writers will want them to like each other. I guess it could be cute? It's just a little awkward bc we havent seen this Paul kid around before so it creates a weird air that the only reason he shows up now is to be a school crush for Allie. Eh. Jaeda was great though and I think she did her scenes well.
After Lucas and E talked, I think it's obvious to Lucas that Elizabeth has strong feelings for Nathan and that she's just running away from them. I mean, she told Lucas that when Nathan told her he loves her all she could do was say nothing and just leave. *holds out arms and stares with a 'well, there you have it' expression'* IT DOESNT GET ANY CLEARER THAN THAT. I wonder if the writers will make Lucas step down bc he cant be with someone who will never love him. Idk how Lucas will react honestly, Lucas's character is such a mystery to me I could never know what he would do in a situation that didnt involve setting up a perfectly romantic date or sweet talking someone with an annoyingly, unrealistic, perfectly understanding polite response.
Elizabeth was also super rude to the people she cares about in this episode. The way she talked to Rosemary. First, she didnt like hearing what Rosemary had to say, which implies that she may have been blaming Nathan for Jack's death. That is such a horrible thing to hold against someone. I mean I could understand why she would feel that way but just for a moment. I mean she should understand how completely wrong and irrational that thought process is and that she shouldnt blame Nathan. TWO, then she had the nerve to tell Rosemary something like 'why would you think that comment would help me right now'. Wow Elizabeth. Gee, maybe she's saying the truth and she's also your friend and just trying to talk things through and give her opinion as a way to help you through your difficult situation. God forbid she doesnt say the perfect thing that you needed to hear at that time, she can't read your mind. I thought that was incredibly rude. It hurt to see Rosemary hurt. And then later she told her that she should leave her house. *SCOFF* man, she was really hitting Rosemary hard this episode. If I were in Rosemary's shoes, yes I would be hurt, but I think I would mostly be understanding of what Elizabeth might be going through and not take anything personally. E's lucky that Rose is such a good friend. OH! What Rosemary told Nathan in the library! She totally implied with her little metaphor comparison that Nathan was making Elizabeth unhappy by getting in the way of true love, i.e. Lucas and Elizabeth. I-- wow! Everyone is against this man. I'm so glad that Nathan stands firm. I mean he knows that Elizabeth feels strongly for him based off her reactions to his honesty with her and how she never denies anything and just runs away. I mean, it's plain as day. Let's not forget the *speechless gaze into each other's eyes* 'I can't' from Honestly, Elizabeth.
I think that's it regarding the love triangle. I absolutely despise the Faith and Carson relationship. And I cant believe they made him say, come with me to Baltimore and we can see in a year if we want to get married. That is so dumb. He just asked Faith to drop everything and leave her life in Hope Valley for a 'I might break up with you in a year' situation. Dumb. This is definitely out of character for Carson. It's obvious the writers are just trying to get rid of him and make him not be missed by the audience. They clearly want us to favor Faith, but she couldnt be more annoying honestly. I wish she were leaving and Carson would stay in Hope Valley. But whatever.
I dont like how every side plot seems to be about some couple's budding relationship. I mean aside from the love triangle, we have Florence and Ned, Molly and Bill, Clara and Jesse (though not a budding relationship, it's still all about their relationship) and now Rachel and Christopher and oh yes also Fiona and whoever that guy is and wow I'm still missing Faith and Carson. Thats 6 other romantic relationships in the show (not including the also important one of Rosemary and Lee) and I'm probably leaving one out. Oh yes, now possibly Allie and Paul. 7. Seven relationship side plots!!! Omg I'm going crazy!! They need to learn how to write some actual plot! What happened to town problems and family drama! Thank goodness we have Henry Gowen and his son (cant believe I just complimented that out of nowhere concept but hey) and the oil thing with Lucas and Henry, barely ever a plot line. This show needs better writing. There's no glue holding the town together and even when there is, it's so small or happens so fast that it doesnt have any long lasting and meaningful affect.
If I weren't so invested in Elizabeth's plotline and in need of some wholesome tv, I would have stopped watching a long time ago. Oh and the last thing. The mention of Abigail. I'm so glad Henry mentioned her because she was very important to him and his character growth. His character arc is one of the saving graces of the show and it needs to be given more attention.
Okay in short, Elizabeth was hecka rude, Nathan is wonderful and so was that office scene. We also stan Allie. Next week's episode also looks like a dud and I dont think much will happen.

talk about doctor who, i must
hot take, but season 10 of doctor who could have been... literally been one of the best seasons yet? had it not been for the three-parter in the middle of it, the episodes were all pretty solid - the monk trilogy, ofc, could have been good but the whole thing was all over the place (weird... seems like having a different writer per episode DOES that) and it dragged on too long. otherwise theres really cool episodes in there. plus, although the mystery box shtick was kinda just in there and wasn’t something i was that big of a fan of (for quite  a few reasons) it wasnt the usual moffat series-arc bullshit of him trying to make it overly complicated, and “clever” (read: making an arse of himself). thankfully, most of that bullshit had kind of come to a close by this point, so he just had one season left to do and that gave him the necessary constraints so he wouldnt fuck it all up by going ham.
moreover season 10 literally had one of the best companions in years?? like perhaps thats entirely personal preference, but bill was SUCH a fresh air after fucking clara had been dragged out for almost 3 years and her character hit the ground running after literally one scene (which sounds basic, but again after clara). nardole was also a generally nice addition, and something fresh & different fro the show,  and whilst i think they could have utilised missy better than they did (especially bc this was michelle gomez’s last hurrah, and shes INCREDIBLE)  they had some rlly nice scenes with her i think.
but people trashed it for such. stupid fucking things. like bill saying she was gay  too much or people whine about the doctor saying “historys a whitewash” when thats just...? the truth???!?!!  or they harped on it for stupid things, like- people whined about the episode SMILE because bill said the word “emoji” and idiots thought “HaHA yEah EMoJi EpisodE hoW bAd” when it was nothing like that?? it wasn’t capitalising off of emojis or anything of the sort. instead... the literal whole thing.... was about technology and the rise of intelligent systems and how AI, despite how much we try to humanise it, will never be human  and will never be capable of understanding our morality and how expecting it to is dangerous???
and there were some genuinely just. nice episodes man. likee theres problems here and theres problems there but like- even when that was the CASE, i think the new vibe that this season brought made even THOSE feel better? which reminds me SO much of Russel’s era - where, yes, episodes like The Idiot’s Lantern weren’t good but I think they were still way more enjoyable than a bad Moffat episode if that makes any sense??????
and yes like. like it wasnt PERFECT? like, theres parts i would change- and im actually,... dont @ me but im considering doing a fic for the first time in years reworking it all because. im of the pERSONAL BELIEF that heather should have been there for at least the first quarter  and that missy’s storyline felt very tackled on and only was there to serve as the obligatory mystery box (which it didnt have to be, and i think the time we could have spent with her in earlier episodes would have been far more valuable than for moffat to do one last clever “gotcha” moment - that literally EVERYONE predicted anyway) and i think it could have also, in general, just been integrated better??? like- LIKE-
THE FINALE  is what throws this into such a stark light in my opinion - second only to the fact they didnt know where to put missys reasoning for being inside the vault, and shoved it into extremis(i think? some part of the monk trilogy) where it really didnt work.  but anyways with the finale... i think the problem with it was, was there was all that buildup and then the story focussed too much on the cybermen that the whole two masters gimmick just kind of went underutilised. and i would never want to sacrifice the story we got with the cybermen (world enough of time is in my top few episodes)  but i think that whole shtick shoul have been restructured differently. like it felt like they deserved their own separate finale - which, god, i would love it if season 10 had gone onto season 11 which is WILD bc i am happier than anyone else to ger rid of moffat but this season was just so LOVELY you know?????????
(and also as a side note: i know ppl at the time complained about s10 being too political, but like... the fact ppl complain about s11 being MORE political somehow is confounding. i stand by the fact that a lot of s11 was lukewarm in terms of making any  stands for anything, if that makes sense. however im looking through s10′s epi list and honestly like.............. no offence but i felt like this run was way more political than s11 but we all know why ppl say the latter is huh.)
