i actually kind of wish i didn’t have any knowledge of the manga, because it would be easier to feel out how i feel about this episode. i think in a vacuum i would have really liked it? but part of me is always going to think about how much buildup from the manga was lost, and how certain parts do and don’t work when shown together? but a lot of the individual moments did still really hit? but i can’t shake the feeling of being rushed? someone’s gonna come along and write a really articulate meta about this and i’ll just have to reblog it with emphatic tags or something.
