Ooh Christine Daae and Erik?

YES it's toxic as all get out. Like, looking at their dynamic as is in ANY of the adaptations? Horrible. -9000/10.

BUT. the POTENTIAL. Is *chef's kiss*

In an ideal world, they both help each other realize their full potential (Christine as an artist, Erik realizing he is DESERVING of love). Erik DOESN'T manipulate and lie to Christine. He DOESN'T MURDER people (I can probably excuse him killing the people who abused him when he was in the "freak show" like in the 2004 movie. But that's a hard probably). Maybe he can still commit a little extortion and get that 20k francs a month, as a treat. And Christine CHOOSES to be with him. Not because he threatened to blow up a whole quarter of Paris, but because she is mistress of her own actions and she loves him for who he's become. They GROW together and live HAPPILY ever AFTER!!!

EDIT: WAIT I TAKE THAT BACK the 1990 TV miniseries has a NON-murderous Erik so he can stay.
