On Akeshu/AkechixAkiren fanfics

This is a rant post on how a lot of fanfiction writers are writing OOC tsundere Akechi and how disappointing it is.

For some time now I've been looking into P5 fanfics on the ship which I usually don't do since I can imagine how different everyone's wishes as fans are. BUT. I really needed some more content with the boys so decided to look up if there is some good stuff there.

I know I can't really say for sure because obviously didn't read dozens/hundreds of the available fics BUT.

I'm so disappointed?

Why. Just WHY in every single fic people are making Akechi be this tsundere blushing at every single look Akiren is giving him? Why isn't there even one fic that shows the true Akechi, the one we only had a glimpse of in P5 but who has so much personality to him??? Which is DEFINITELY NOT a blushing tsundere?

This got only worse after completing the P5R [now slight general spoiler] which lets us see the real Akechi, the power of his own convictions the lack of regrets, the fact that he is doing everything he does willingly and fully aware of consequences and such? Why are the fancfiction writers throwing the true Akechi out of the window just like this, making him some kind of victim and pitying him which are THE LAST things he would want of anyone?

I kind of understand why people are doing this - they want to see him comforted and "fixed" and "happy" but it's so frustrating to me seeing how his true self is overlooked for that purpose only to fit in someone's imagined redemption arc. And I genuinely think it's okay for the people to write fics how they like and stuff, really.

I'm just so disappointed.

It's like no one really likes the real Akechi and they just use his figure to give him the whole new personality and stuff. And I wanted the fics on the real Akechi so much it makes me so dissatisfied and resigned :(
