Lifechanger - DEMO

Lifechanger is a 18+ real-life romantic drama where you'll play as a teacher who just started a job at a special school.

Content warnings: explicit language, (possible) mention of child abuse, mental health and (possible) unhealthy relationship.

A few days ago you got a job offer at a pretty famous school, the Smith's Academy. You get a good salary, you live only 20 minutes away from the school, and you get a big starting bonus. Sounds perfect, right? Well, it is not as good as it seems at first.

This school is for troublemakers. The bad ones. Most of the kids are misunderstood, some are born evil and others just have the worst parents who put them in this school for no good reason. They all have one thing in common, they make the school feel like hell on earth. Not only the children will make your life harder, but also some of the adults are quite the challenges. This story focuses on relationships and mental health.

This job will change your life forever, whether it's for the better or the worse will depend on your choices. Welcome to Lifechanger.

Character Customisation. Choose your appearance and gender, and choose one of the 3 backstories. Will you deal with your past or let it consume you?

Play as a teacher. Choose between 3 students you can meet. Change their life for the better or the worse.

Romance. Romance your charming boss, an elegant co-worker, or a sweet mother of one of your students.

Complex Relationships: Everyone has secrets perhaps; someday they will come to light. Can you truly get to know your lover and friends?

See how your actions change the actions of those around you, good or bad. One thing is sure: Your choices matter a lot.

Danny Smith [M]: Your charming boss. At first he looks stoic and cold at first , not kind at least, but in reality he has a hard of gold. He enjoys working with kids and the school is everything to him. Maybe too much for him. He is very social but it looks like he never lets anyone get close. Can you truly capture his heart and get to know him?

Alice Smith [F]: Just like her uncle quiet charming, a bit too confident sometimes but it makes her quite attractive. She is the school psychologist and has helped a lot of children already. But not like Danny she seems to seperate work and life more. She cares for her students that is clear but there is something...sly about her. Can you figure out who she truly is?

Dolores Richards [F]: She is a secret fully. Yes she is kind and looks sweet but there is something about her. She married her husband while she was in college, it all seemed perfect but lately things have changed. Can you help her figure out what she wants?

Lisa: One of your students who is going through something that changes her life forever. Can you help her or will you only drive her further into her depression. [1/3 kid stories you can follow.]

Oliver: The son of Dolores and a student of yours . Although he is dressed well and he gets anything he wants from his parents, the things he needs most are neglected. Can you help Oliver find a way to feel fully loved again?

Jaden: A boy born in a poor family and although not on purpose neglected by his parents. He spends his days in school and at work trying to earn enough for his family. Can you find a way to help him and his family?

Lifechanger is currently a WIP. The demo is at 14K. I am planning on updating every 2-4 weeks with a new chapter, the story will be between 30-40k words long. This is my first story so i’ll be keeping it fully free and i hope to learn a lot from it. Don’t be afraid to give me tips or help with my grammar.

Movie recommendation I think you might like. Check out Lifechanger. The story of a person who steals the life, the memories, the very face, of people they are intimate with, and all they want to do is reconnect with the one person they ever loved, and will leave a pile of bodies in their wake.

OKAY.

i have some thoughts.

the concept is creative and provoking, the cinematography is well-done, it for some reason reminded me of splice (2009) don't ask why i have no fucking clue, the genderfuckery was absolutely delicious.

i loved the conversations between the many drews and their(?) julia. it wasn't at all a surprise when she said she was a counselor, even with how little we saw her before she told us that, her advice was always so thoughtful. she's kind, she's friendly, she's writing a book, and luckily for drew, she is a functioning alcoholic. drew falling for her is understandable.

but.

with how much they're obsessed with her, how much they want to give her a life she deserves, she doesn't fully feel like her own character? i don't know how to describe it. she's their love interest, and she's only allowed to have her own traits within the context of that. i think her writing suffered from being a character in their (singular) story rather than a character in their (plural) story.

and, i wish we hadn't gotten so many explanations dumped on us by the narration. hold back. let us come to our own conclusions, then either confirm it or subvert it, y'know?

and i don't really like the ending. it should've went harder with its exploration of the self and with its caterpillar/butterfly symbolism- the last shot should've been butterflies instead of tree branches 🙄

like, look at this shot while drew's in molting paired with the movie poster;

why wasn't there more butterfly symbolism if there's lighting references to that symbolism? commit ‼️

i did like the vibe of, like, despite everything, it's still you. they change their lives, but they can't ever escape from them. they have to carry everything they've done in the name of self-preservation for the rest of their existence, and there's no easy way out for them. they don't get an escape from the suffering. they always have to remember the lives they took.

and the way they say that julia's husband is still alive… what is a person? what is a soul? drew has their memories, their shapes, their feelings. they're apart of drew, so does that make them all immortal, too? as pieces to drew's puzzle, the picture of them all accumulated?

maybe the cost of immortality is inflicting it upon everyone else.

anyway, 3.5, i really liked it but i wish some choices were different !! :3c

hello anon. don't apologise, you're a breath of fresh air after the recent visitors in my inbox. I think a slightly more accurate description of Bisan’s ask is to stop or minimise all economic activity not in direct support of Palestine. Now more than ever, I would encourage people to donate to escape funds for Palestinians, to direct aid organisations like CareforGaza and the PCRF, and to buy e-sims as they’re running low.

Below I’ve compiled a list of resources below but this is definitely just a small sample size of what you can do to help during this strike. This post here is an extremely comprehensive resource that I’d recommend you have a look at.

PCRF / Palestine Children's Relief Fund: non-profit organisation that distributes essential food and resources to families in Gaza. Most recently, they delivered 30 tons of vital medicine, and 82,000 pounds of flour.

Medical Aid For Palestinians: deploys medical teams to treat Palestinians suffering under Israel's malicious bombardments.

to solve the phonetime disease you know the one where you get stuck on the phone simulating an unconscious state without letting your brain ever actually rest or think or process. to solve this after a long time trying the 'just try really hard not to do this' method to no success i have developed a proprietary system called signing into bed. on account of this mostly happens to me when i get in bed in the middle of the day. and its very simple its a paper sign in sheet that i keep on my bed (so i see it when im about to get in bed) where i made a table for date, reason/what i will do there, time in, time out, and if i want to get in bed i have to sign in first aka decide on an intention and its kind of changing my life
