Life is a gift that has been given to you. It is in your hands to make the best out of it, so always believe that you can. Through the ups & downs, you'll find a lesson to learn in everything that you do in your life. Nothing in life is a waste of time. Life is a beautiful ride - enjoy it while it lasts.

I’m turning 20 in a couple days, and while I spent the past months being scared of getting older, I’m actually starting to feel at peace with it. I was scared of losing the privilege to be a sad and lost teenage girl, and having to actually do something with my life and take responsibility and so on, but to be honest me later teenage years were shitty.
15 was finding out I was queer but still being homophobic because of the way I grew up. Also hating my body.
16 was trying to stop s3lf h@rming for the first time after realising I was, in fact, not making anything better. (I failed because it was also a comfort). But also starting to question the homophobia I saw in church. And being at my first pride. And trying alcohol with friends.
17 was deconstructing homophobia completely and starting to question my faith in general. Making new friends. Getting drunk with them sometimes and letting myself do things I never thought I’d do (good and bad). And trying to stop hating my body and be kind to myself.
18 was understanding why my parents acted the way they did and how they are caught in their beliefs and are so scared of things they don’t understand and hell and that they love me, just not in the way I need and that sometimes that’s nobody’s fault. It was also coming out to them and having to deal with the aftermath. And questioning if god even exists and crying at a Christian camp because I couldn’t relate anymore and felt like I just lost everything I ever believed in and I didn’t know how to go on living. It was also conversations with my religion teacher that helped me understand that faith doesn’t have one right look and that I have all the time in the world to figure it out.
19 was losing my faith entirely and not knowing how to believe in anything. And getting addicted to alcohol to cope but also managing to stop drinking sometime later. Finishing school, getting my driver’s license and my car, getting a job, learning how to tattoo, applying to art schools, being so lost but also learning how to not be scared of not knowing. And finally quitting s3lf h@rm for good. Being able to see the positive aspects of religion without letting them make me feel guilty. Still hating my body sometimes but trying to heal.
20 can only get better to be honest, and I’m ready for good things. I’m excited to see where It’ll lead me regarding my faith and if I get to study religion and art and where I’m gonna move to and all the new people I’ll meet and how I get to grow.

Your life story is yours alone. It’s decreed by the One who made you. The challenges, the grief, the heartache; all part of who you are and the lessons youve learnt along the way. He puts you through the tests and gets you through them.

Awareness
It’s the details you pick up from your perception of the world. It’s your consciousness actively gathering and processing information from your environment. It’s how you experience life.
Self-Awareness
Self-awareness is a valuable skill that involves being mindful. It’s your ability to notice your feelings, your physical sensations, your reactions, your habits, your behaviors, including your personality, actions, values, beliefs, emotions, and thoughts.
Self-awareness is your ability to perceive and understand the things that make you who you are as an individual.
Essentially, it is a psychological state in which the self becomes the focus of attention. You are aware of all those different aspects of yourself as if you were another person observing you.
Another way to think of it is paying attention to your intuition, also known as your 6th sense or your gut feeling.
Self-awareness is one’s ability to not only be conscious and alert in an environment but also the ability to understand your purpose within it.

Seeing you in love
shows me how I’ve changed
I am not older
or wiser
but merely further down the path
watching as you take the first
step
and sharing your joy
as you see
everything
again for the first time
as you describe the person
you want to call home
