The organ is carefully taken into the large clawed hands of the MATRIARCH, still warm to the touch, the scent of venison unmistakable. Where is the beast that was slain, and more importantly, was it one of her own.

" Is this supposed to IMPRESS me, " she scoffs. " Anyone can kill a deer. "

Now she rounds on the god, liver slipping from fingers to fall to the forest floor with a wet plop. No doubt the wolves would find it. Lips pull back and behind a wicked smile, there is a thinly veiled snarl that exposes her flesh-ripping teeth. She steps forwards and her muscles ripple, raven head cants to the side in feigned curiosity.

james didn’t like to play games. he never had a pension for them - and he liked to think this mission was a giant fucking game he was given to waste his time. 

why he’d been put on the path to track down loki laufeyson was still an unclear question he’d no doubt not have answered anytime soon, but the last time the two had intermingled, well... it was safe to say had not been a pleasant experience. however, he had a theory, and that theory was that if loki knew they were being sought out, then perhaps they’d reveal themself and make his search that much easier. 

truly he didn’t argue with his assignments at the best of times, but as bucky swirls a packet of sweetener into his steaming cup of styrofoam glory outside some dimly lit diner, there’s a part of him that thinks maybe he should’ve. the coffee is bitter even with the added sugar and he blanches a tad when the aftertaste of the burnt beans hits his tongue.

he’s reviewing a dead timeline and insurgences when he realises they’re there.  ‘   hey there,  loki.   ’    mobius looks up once as he greets them,  amused that he’s sought out at all,  not quite ready to leave the trail of sentences he’s reading,  until he does stop.   eyes glancing over the rest of the drawn out data without much thought,   ‘   planned a coup yet today ?   ’   a tease,   just to see what the silvertongue would respond.
