I have never cried reading a book. I cried reading The Book Thief yesterday.

the weirdest part is, I didn’t cry for the people she lost or the life she could’ve lived. I cried for the people she got to love and the life she could live in the midst of that darkness. I cried for the selfless love only a father like Hans Hubermann could give, for Rosa’a tough but silent love, for the simplicity of Rudy’s companionship, for Max’s pure heart. I think that it is also my favourite part.

I could never find the words to explain how beautiful The Book Thief is, so I’ll say just that. It’s beautiful.

I have my Marvel Family hyperfixation in one hand, and I've got my Book Thief hyperfixation in the other, and I'm about to clap them together like Death did the stories of Liesel and Max.

I just wanna see the skrunklies interact. Like, Billy, Mary, Liesel and Rudy playing football. Freddy and Tommy Muller bonding over being disabled. Max getting a whole horde of new younger siblings that just adore him, and Freddy not having to take care of the other two for once.

Thinking about how in The Book Thief, the words of his enemy become Max’s savior by getting him safely to the Hubermann’s.

And then he paints over it (with paint from her father) and gives it to Liesel and that book with her writings becomes her savior.

He saves her. With help from Hans he saves her.

Words and love and companionship are Liesel’s saviors.

And how these things save us too.

Cooper Gang: Sly Cooper, Bentley, Murray

Cooper Gang:

Sly and Bentley and Murray are literally the most ride or die for each other, they would literally do anything for each other. Bentley saved Sly's life during a panic attack in the first game. The only thing that snapped Murray out of his depression spiral in the third game was Bentley getting hurt and pleading for his help. Bentley launched a train through a wall to break his buddies out of jail. Sly and Murray risked everything to break Bentley out of a hospital when he was being held there by the police. They love each other so much and they're brothers your honor.

(honorable mention to the other cooper gang members who join in the third game: the Guru, Penelope, the Panda King, and Dimitri. I didn't include them in my submission because I wanted to focus on the core three but they all count and they're valid members of the found family. Shhhh we don't talk about the fourth game)
