heavily thinking about casual/commercialized lewd stuff: the convenience store has a new marketing strategy, if you pay more than 100 dollars for something you get a complementary blowjob. a restaurant where each of the servers is also on the menu, they have their own pages where you can both buy foods made with their "love" and even buy them as a menu item yourself. a new federal program to put cumdumps in public libraries both for free practice and education, and to keep librarygoers focused and learning, the cumdumps gagged of course, they can never keep their voice down enough.

Libby is stuck between libraries and publishers in the e-book war
Readers love the Libby app, but its newfound popularity is costing librarians more than they can afford.
Tumblr media
By Anna Kramer
On the surface, there couldn't be a more wholesome story than the meteoric rise of the Libby app. A user-friendly reading app becomes popular during the pandemic, making books cool again for young readers, multiplying e-book circulation and saving public libraries from sudden obsolescence.
But the Libby story is also a parable for how the best-intentioned people can build a beloved technological tool and accidentally create a financial crisis for those who need the tech most. Public librarians depend on Libby, but they also worry that its newfound popularity could seriously strain their budgets.
Before 2017, e-books were still pretty niche, and checking out library e-books was torture. In 2016, just over a quarter of Americans had read an e-book within the previous year, according to a Pew Research Center survey. Not many people even knew their libraries offered digital books. Overdrive — the digital marketplace for publishers and libraries, and the creator of Libby — was (and still is) clunky, slow and unintuitive. Overdrive hit just under 200 million checkouts in 2016; in 2020, that number more than doubled, surpassing 430 million.
Few noticed when the cute, friendly virtual library app launched in 2017. Libraries are never very good at selling themselves, and neither is Overdrive. But the app's seamless, user-friendly experience was so exceptional that it spoke for itself. Libby became a cult favorite for book lovers and dedicated librarygoers, and almost every public library in the country, already dependent on Overdrive for their growing digital collections, loved that they could make reading online a little bit easier. It was the public library's best-kept secret.
And then in March 2020, when libraries closed their doors and books sat gathering dust, the Libby app became so much more than a cute reading tool. People turned to digital books and were delighted to discover they were so much simpler than remembered. You could access the web app anywhere on any computer, and everything synced to a phone app as well. You could download library books to Kindle. You never needed a password. You could use more than one library card. Libby downloads increased three times their usual amount beginning in late March. E-book checkout growth and new users on Overdrive both increased more than 50%.
Libby had helped to save libraries.
It had also accelerated a funding crisis.

for me the biggest it gets better parts of becoming an independent adult have been related to my neurodivergence and disability moreso than to my queerness. my parents have always been supportive of both aspects of who i am - they did their best, but the best they were able to do in our deeply ableist society lead to me starting adulthood with no way to understand and name my support needs (and due to difficulties my family was going through at the time, no support).
i moved out at 18 and it’s taken the entire almost-decade since then for me to get to where i’m at, but i love and am proud of the life i’ve built for myself. i know my autistic sensory needs and need for routine, i’m able to advocate for myself and get the care i need for my hypothyroidism & the meds i need for my adhd. since november, for the first time in my life, i’m working at a job that doesn’t leave me at the edge of sensory overwhelm by the end of every workday.
i’ve arrived at a point where the biggest thing for me to be working on is learning how to nurture my joy and create habits of engaging in hobbies and enjoyable activities. there were years that went by where i was so burnt out & fatigued that i couldn’t hyperfixate/have special interests, let alone have a hobby that was an activity. leisure and play don’t come naturally anymore, but working hard on navigating my health & neurotype has paid off and i get to learn to have fun again.
this wouldn’t be possible for me if i still lived with either of my parents. but it’s possible for me now: i get to rediscover reading and become a librarygoer. i get to garden, to kneel in the dirt! i get to live the dreams of my middle-school self and learn to read tarot. i get to be happy.

Via @jayjeffers This library has a story to tell. The focal point of the façade highlights the essence of who these homeowners are—worldly, extensive travelers—and showcases their trove of treasures picked up along the way. Fun fact, her grandfather had these iconic egg chairs in his study. It is no accident we found four vintage chairs for their own library as well. #JayJeffers . . . #JayJeffersDesign #LibraryGoals #DailyDecorDetail #LibraryDesign #LibraryDesignInspo #HomeLibrary #InteriorDesignLovers #InteriorDesign #DesignInterior #DesignLove #InteriorDesignGoals #LibraryStyle #RemodelGoals #FindItStyleIt #DreamInteriors #DreamLibrary #HomeAdore #HomeDesign #InstaDesign #Architecture #JayJeffersInteriors #Arteriors #ArteriorsHome #MarkMoussa #MarkMoussaDesigns #LuxeInteriors #LuxuryDesign #ArneJacobsen #stockerhoestereymontenegroarchitects https://www.instagram.com/p/CRbnqhxqRqN/?utm_medium=tumblr

#Shelfie Before and After! 📚 . It might not be exactly on New Years, but I thought it would be fun to do a Before and After of my bookshelves! 🎆 The second picture was taken last April.
