Speaking of selkies, I brought a copy of The Girl From the Sea (by Molly Ostertag) to my work a few months ago, and the kids have been loving it. Like, they like a lot of the books I bring, but that one’s been especially popular. I’ve seen groups of kids gathered around it, reading it together because they don’t want to have to wait until their friends finish it. It’s been read so much it’s starting to fall apart. So...anyone aiming to put together a collection LGBTQ+ kids books, take note.
Hello everyone! My name is Jolece and I’m an illustrator and storyboard artist looking to go into children’s book illustration and book covers! I love to draw sapphics, fantasy and fairies~
In 1983, the 1981 book Jenny Lives With Eric & Martin, by Danish author Susanne Bösche, was published in England. The book was intended for primary school children and told the story of Jenny, a little girl who lived with her father and his male lover.
It was quickly banned from schools after protests from parents and politicians who feared that it might encourage children to "experiment with homosexuality".
Hi folks! I'm starting a fresh blog since my old Tumblr was a wee bit dusty, so allow me to quickly introduce myself.
I'm Charli (she/her) and I'm a queer illustrator, writer, and lecturer. I have a lot of love for bright colour, strange creatures, and even stranger stories, and plan on sharing lots of these things on here.
I have a Spanish rescue dog called Boba, I love and regularly stream D&D, my favourite colour is orange, and *no TERFs, no Tories*.
The Hidden Crystals will be released January 5th through Amazon.
Thank you @icaruslovemedley for the amazing cover art!
Sadly Amazon doesn't do preorders on the physical books but here is the Kindle preorder: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0BPPYJ2CY?ref_=cm_sw_r_mwn_dp_9DRWDPF3NQ7YX6CZGNAG

You COULD buy a high-vis reflective vest for every lesbian you know, or you could just share lesbian books so that kids everywhere can see stories about people both like and unlike themselves in their daily lives
.As the world's first queer children's bookstore, we can really only help you with one of those, but we also happen to think it's the more fun option anyway.

Joy Michael Ellison’s Sylvia and Marsha Start a Revolution (2021)
Written by Joy Michael Ellison and colorfully illustrated by Teshika Silver, Sylvia and Marsha Start a Revolution (2021) is a fantastic snapshot of queer activist history.
In the picture book, Marsha and Sylvia are often represented walking down a city street, arms linked, a golden halo surrounding them. Marsha has dark-brown skin and flowing honey-colored hair. Sylvia’s skin is light-brown; her…

Happy to share the cover for THE SUBLIME MS. STACKS, to be released next year. Honored to illustrate such a fun story from Robb Pearlman. I’ve never drawn so much sparkles and glitter lol.
