The stadium roared and raved and soared to the chant of choral screams: a sound like raging thunder, so deafening Levi felt as though an earthquake was about to break the ground in two.
He ran towards the crowded barricades; muscles burning, heart beating to the agitated compass of his feet. He was exhausted, but it was moments like these that filled his soul of outbursting energy: the smiles on his teammate's faces, stranger's voices painting his name next to words of love.
To say that the road leading him to the fields evergreen had been a troubling one, was a heavy understatement. He'd been a rebelious spirit, long before, as Kenny would have put it; a freckled kid that knew no better than sneaking out to play ball on floors of dirt and mud.
Now, camera flashes sparkled like the fleeting light of shooting stars soaring through the night. And he pointed up to the skies, looking for a sign of maternal pride; an image that would be soon enough printed eternal in every newspapers' cover page.
"Levi!", he heard Hanji call from behind. They were running up towards him at full-speed; Mike and Erwin following closely.
He remembered long summer evenings at their house, drinking apple juice out of cardboard boxes; all sweaty hair, stained clothes. How they would four skip school to watch landscapes the color of the sunset when spring turned around the corner and all hurting seemed distant.
It was a weird sensation, he thought, one that tasted of bittersweet contradiction, even: to see the world change around them, yet their hearts remaining the same. To know they were still silly little children playing in the backyard with tooth-missing-smiles and vintage unlaced shoes.
Hanji threw themselves onto him, and he almost fell backwards atop the wet grass. They were a swriling mess of white and blue stripes: a tornado of pitchy laughter and untamed ponytail locks.
And he wouldn't ever have them any other way.
"Have you seen the goal-keeper's face when you kicked the fuck out of that last penalti!?", they insisted; their voice oh so cheerful, ringing a noisy melody onto his ear. "He was shitting his fucking pants!"
Levi chuckled; a smile wide enough to be captured by the public's never-ending hunger. He was a man too shy to reveal his soul bare for a whole stadium to watch, but God forgave him if he kept the raging joy guarded to himself only.
He turned around to his friends, and let them all crash on top of him, in the vacant spaces between his arms open. They had been there in hospital hallways when his momma flew onto the clouds, and on late Christmas parties when all they had was eachother. They had rang his door with ragged leather balls to play the streets, and helped him climb up the rooftops high to follow the howling moon.
To say that the road leading him to a golden thropy and international dreams had been a smooth one, was nothing but a blunt lie. And yet, he was now sure, clear as his footspets sinking on the green land:
It had been easier because he had had Hanji, Erwin and Mike at the other side of every kick.
So when the weight of their bodies tackled him to the floor and they all melted onto a breathtaking hug, he was certain:
Maybe, this was what victory was really all about.

Hi anon! I’m sorry I didn’t know if this meant showing them desiring that life w/ each other, or if you wanted to see them actually living it but! since it’s Hange’s birthday I went with the latter bc they deserve it and breakfast in bed is a far better present than the one Isayama gave to them :')

NSFW // LEVIHAN DRABBLE
Hange turns off the bathtubs faucet as soon as she hears the front door open, and then close. Levi must be home.
“Hi babe, how was work?” hange asked, wrapping her arms around him as soon as he entered their bedroom. Levi looked exhausted and also very upset and refused to say a word. Hange concluded that he must have had a bad day at work. Taking a quick peek into the bathroom, Levi noticed that hange had prepared a bath for him and sighed in relief.
“take off your clothes, hange.” he ordered, already removing his own. Without breaking eye contact, he made his way into the bathroom and then into the tub.
hange followed suit, getting into the bathtub with levi, setting herself down with her back agaisnt his chest. No matter how much stress levi was under, she knew how to help him relax, whether it being absolute silence while entangled in eachother, or just simply telling him how much they loved him.
-
after both finished bathing, levi got out first to dry himself off. Feeling a tug on his wrist, he ended up being pulled back into the bedroom. Hange was in charge today and he figured that out very quickly as she planted kisses and love bites all over him, causing levi to become hard within seconds.
“I know you had a bad day, levi. let me ease your mind, okay? just relax.” she cooed while shoving levi down onto the bed, then guiding levi to her swollen entrance. seconds later, hange sunk herself down, filling up completely with Levi’s length and began moving her hips back and fourth slowly.
“fuck hange, why do you do this to me..” levi said in broken words, grabbing hange’s hips tightly that was sure to leave marks later. They both made deep eye contact with eachother before hange broke the silence with “because I love you. I love taking care of you.”
this is messy as fuck as i’m kind of rusty w my writing now but i hope you enjoy ! thanks again to @atmospheric-light for the idea :3

Drunk Drabbles 62: "If you can't sleep... we could have sex?" So, I really wasn't happy with my previous answer to this ask. I decided to work on it and I now have the improved version! Gonna delete the old one, but there are a few people who reblogged it anyway so it is still out there on the vast planes of Tumblr if anyone wants it. Thank you for the prompt @youre-ackermine!
Up All Night Characters: Levi x Hange Word Count: 974 words Modern AU (NSFW - still based on that Friends episode)
Gritting his teeth, Levi clicked on his bedside lamp and shifted around to glare at Hange. He had already endured the commotion of her pummelling her pillow into a more comfortable shape. His significant annoyance had then proceeded to toss and turn so violently that it had sent the entire bed frame creaking with her. It was all to no avail, for Hange threw herself onto her back in exasperation.
“Sor-ry Levi!” she yawned, stretching her arms over her head. It had been on the tip of Levi’s tongue to tell her just how sorry she was going to be if she kept him awake for much longer, before he hesitated.
“Look Four Eyes, if you can’t sleep, we could always…”
He trailed off, his expression serious despite a steely glint in his eye. Hange studied his face as though sifting through vast, hidden depths of meaning. Confident in her findings, her features brightened. Then, as Levi held her gaze, Hange’s smile faltered.
“Wait… you’re not talking about cleaning the kitchen are you?”
“I meant sex, you idiot.”
“Ah… in that case, I think your pillow talk might need some work, Levi.” Hange rolled onto her stomach, resting her folded arms upon his bare chest. She lay against him, her chin nestled in the crook of her elbow.
“You mean… it’s not working on you right now?” he whispered, trailing his fingers through her hair.
Hange’s eyes were fixed upon his own.
“I didn’t say that…” She lifted her head and pressed her lips against his. Levi gathered the loose strands away from her face, tucking her hair behind her ear. He stroked her jawline; his open mouth against hers. Hange withdrew before moving in again to kiss the warmth of his neck, his chest, his tensed abdomen. As she neared the crest of his hip bone, Levi’s breath came in shallow gasps. He stifled a moan as she took his cock in her hand and slowly ran her tongue up from base to tip.
“Fuck…”
Her wet, parted lips traced the tip and Levi let out his breath in a low hiss. He was forced to bite back a few more obscene words as she closed her mouth around him. Levi’s head sank backwards, his fingers clenching Hange’s shoulder. His hips bucked forward, seeking pressure from the tightness of her lips. Instead, Hange raised her head to smile at him.
“Okay, okay! I won’t keep you waiting…”
She brought herself up into sitting position, thighs straddling Levi’s waist. Hange reached down to grasp and guide him to her. Levi was clutching her leg tight enough to leave the print marks of impatient fingertips upon her skin. He gave a slow, deep thrust into her and Hange uttered a sharp gasp at the intrusion. She clenched her knees into his sides, then leaned down to take Levi’s face in her hands. Her hair fell over his face, tickling his forehead and chin as their noses touched. Levi felt Hange’s breath lifting the heat from his cheeks. He, too, stroked her soft skin, marvelling at her dark eyes and curved nose. Levi regarded her in silent disbelief, his eyes mapping down each beautiful feature until they came to settle upon her lips.
“Maybe it’s not so bad that we can’t sleep…” Hange whispered.
She kissed him deeply and Levi moved beneath her. With a sigh of pleasure Hange sat up, one hand gripping his arm. She pushed down on him, relishing the delicious ache of him inside her. Then she began to rock against him rhythmically, heat flooding her neck and chest.
“Ah… this feels so… hah… huh?” Hange lowered her head and swept her tangled hair out of her face. Levi’s hand had fallen from her leg.
“Levi?”
Her partner’s eyes were closed; his mouth slightly open. Unlike her own ragged breathing, Levi’s chest was rising and falling quite steadily.
Hange touched Levi’s face again. He made a mild sound of recognition, then exhaled. Incredulous, Hange prised herself off of him and lifted his half-hard cock. Although she was tempted with a far more inventive means of waking Levi, Hange instead gave his shoulder a shake. Finally, she clicked on her bedside lamp.
“What just happened?” Hange demanded. Her hair was wild; her forehead glistened with beads of sweat and her skin was stained in patches of colour. Levi gazed at her through half-closed lids.
“...had sex, then we fell asleep…”
“No.” Hange was still struggling to slow her breathing. “No, we were in the middle of sex and you fell asleep.”
“Ha…” His voice was thick with drowsiness. “I’m sure we both finished. You were great.” With that, he reached to click off the lamp, then rolled over onto his side. Furious, Hange snapped on the light.
“So fucking bright…”
“Look, I was giving you some of my best moves and you missed it!” Hange snarled, “so now we’re gonna finish what we started!”
She waited, the little patience she still had dwindling rapidly, whilst Levi groaned into his pillow. Muttering to himself, he turned onto his back.
“Okay… do what you want to me.” Levi lay still, eyes closed. “Just don’t wake me.”
Hange gaped in silent outrage. The mattress springs creaked in protest as she sprang off the bed to seize her clothes from the floor.
“Fine!”
She hopped about in an attempt to get her leg into her shorts. “Fine!” she repeated, yanking her baggy t-shirt over her head. “I’m going to make you some tea to wake you up!”
She turned to march from the room. Then, stopping at the doorway, Hange called back over her shoulder.
“And I probably won’t spill tea leaves all over the floor!”
Levi battled with the covers to sit upright.
“Hang on Four Eyes, I’m up, I’m up, I’m up!”
... Asks are always welcome. Send me a prompt from the list, put your feet up, have a cuppa and I'll whip you up a drabble while you wait. 👉 Drabble challenge.

hi can you give some levihan headcanons as a couple , maybe in modern au
Thank you so much for the request! This is my first headcanon request so I tried to make it as perfect as possible! Also, bear with me because I got overexcited with the ask, and instead of the point form HC formulation I should've followed, I may or may not have thought up their whole freaking backstory... and their follow up story... Oops. I won't post it here today, but I do think I will make it a separate post some other day if anyone is interested enough. Either way, thank you so much and I hope you enjoy!

I like to think that even in modern AU, Hange would still have her cheery personality, but instead of obsessing over Titans, she'd be more interested in microbes (I know, transition between giants to microorganisms, LOL). She'd still be interested in saving humanity, but more in the bacterial and medical kind of field instead.
Levi on the other hand, no longer having to be a soldier, he'd happily run the tea shop he'd always wanted right next to his best friends Isabel and Furlan.
The two met on a subway ten years ago on Levi's first day of work in the city. Where an unfortunate mix up of personal belongings caused by clashing into each other got them acquainted and familiar with each other. Despite the unfortunate meeting and the roller coaster of events that unfolded from their collision, it eventually became a pleasant story to tell their friends or at parties when asked how they met.
They were complete opposites of each other. Hange loved the outdoors while Levi preferred staying at home. She was loud and upbeat while he preferred silence and tranquility. Hanger had a habit of being free willed and letting her spontaneity take her, while Levi liked to have everything planned and set before getting into anything
And it wasn't just their preferences that differed, it was every aspect of themselves. Their life choices and ways of thinking were drastically opposing. Even the way they disagreed on what they wanted to eat for dinner caused heated discussion when brought up, as Hange would pick sweets for dinner instead of something sustainable like Levi wanted.
They were complete and utterly the opposite of each other. And while everything pointed to them not working out and onlookers put their money on their relationship ending in a messy breakup, they proved everyone wrong every time with how much their bond only grew stronger overtime. And how their loving partnership became more and more obvious the more time spent around them, erasing any doubts they had about the couple.
Yes, they fought occasionally, and they drove each other absolutely insane. But their differences also brought them out of each other's shells, together experiencing new things they would've never seen without the other otherwise. They saw the world in a different light through each other's eyes, and came to love the new combined word they created together. Because with being opposites of each other, it also meant they filled each other's holes and missing pieces. Almost like creating a stained glass window meant to be clear with splashes of purples and greens instead. Creating an accidental masterpiece that came to be adored by those lucky enough to bask under the kaleidoscope of colours in their inner chapel. Bathing those closest to them with the deep love they had for each other.
Throughout the years of getting to know each other, they found a way to put their differences away, and somehow managed to build up their relationship status to best friends. So much so that Isabel and Furlan, Levi's childhood friends complained about being replaced so quickly. Although, in all considerations, it felt to Levi like he was the one being replaced by Hange instead with the way his friends loved her. Hell, even his mother and uncle seemed to love her more than him.
"Welcome home, runt. Where's Hange? I wanted to discuss about the new wine she mentioned to me last time." His uncle would say when he'd visit.
"Oh Hange! I've made your favourite pudding!" His mother would greet, throwing herself at his girlfriend before she caught sight of her own son staring at them with a roll of his eyes. "Oh, Levi! Nice to see you too of course."
Contrary to his grumbles and complains about Hange being overburdened by his family every time she visited, he couldn't help but feel his heart beat happily at knowing the love of his life was accepted by his family, and that they loved her as much as he did himself. Having the two most important parts of his life get along was all he cared about.
Despite having known each other for ten years, having met when Levi was 26 and Hange 24, they didn't start dating until... well that was a mystery of its own as they themselves didn't really know when they started dating. Not fully at least.
Somewhere along the years of their friendship the lines blurred, and they somehow ended up with the shocking, yet not surprising realization that they were and had been dating each other for a while. But the way they realized it and came to terms with it wasn't an easy one. When Levi finally came to terms that he harboured feelings for his best friend, he initially thought that Hange had feelings for someone else. And he could only put up with the unbearable pain he went through when he overheard Moblit mention to Nifa that Hange couldn't meet with them for a work dinner because she had a date already.
So one can only imagine his surprise when Hange showed up with a smile at his shop door on Saturday, greeting him and his workers as happily as ever. Even throwing herself at him for a hug like she always did whenever she visited. A hug that would be considered too personal and close for two individuals that were only considered friends. But not once during her whole afternoon spent there did she mention anything about meeting up with anyone else, but the suspense was absolutely killing Levi by the point the clock struck half an hour to dinner time.
But Hange continued being her usual self. Greeting new and old clients alike as if she'd been friends with them for ages. Making a complete mess of his usual clean counters only to be scolded off by Levi to go to the corner and read instead, and even teasing him about random things like she always did. All the while being completely unaware of the turmoil and the pain Levi felt at thinking about how he would have to hide his feelings and having to pretend to be happy for Hange being with someone that wasn't him the rest of their live. It was becoming an unbearable and depressing Saturday to say the least. His mood only soured more as Hange still acted all upbeat and nonchalant as ever. Not once having brought up her dating life to him, despite being her so called bestie. And it brought about this ugly feeling of disbelief and jealousy out of him that he'd never experienced before.
As nighttime fell over the streets, Levi finally broke his silence and lashed out at her bitterly, asking why she was hanging out with him when she already had plans with someone else.
And out of all ways she could've reacted to his interrogation, being laughed at was something he didn't expect.
"But Levi, YOU are my date." She finally gasped, having finally gained the capacity to breathe again after having laughed at his question.
"Huh? How am I your date, fucking Four- Eyes. We never made plans for anything. Besides, I overheard your coworkers talk about you meeting someone instead of eating with them... How can I be considered your date?"
Hange tilted her head, amusement flowing in her brown eyes as she caught the usual poised and self-assured raven-haired individual lose his composure. "Huh... But I thought we've been dating for while now, Shorty. I've even been referring to you as my boyfriend to my friends and coworkers for the last few months."
Turns out, her date was none other than Levi. And her idea of a date was hanging out with him at his tea shop on the weekend like she's been doing the last five years. And Levi, as clueless to feelings as ever, never put two and two together.
The whirring of machine cogs and espresso machines filled the silence between them as Levi processed whatever Hange had just said.
"The fuck?! You can't simply just call me your boyfriend when I haven't even been aware of us dating this whole time!" He finally retaliated, throwing the rag in his hands onto the tabletop.
Hange giggled, noticing the reds on his cheeks. It wasn't a no, she could read from his eyes. "I like you too, Shorty. So? Are we officially dating now?"
"You better make up for the last few months I've been out of loop of my own relationship."
Tumblr media
They ended up adopting a black goldfish adorably named One-Eyed Moody after the professor of the dark arts from the Harry Potter series for the fact it was both very moody and in fact, one eyed. Levi had reluctantly agreed to let Hange get a pet for their apartment once they had moved in together after a year of dating. He expected her to get a cat, a big dog, or a lizard for all he knew. Although he made it very clear the last one were on the black list.
Instead, Hange had found One-Eyed Moody on a cart ready to be discarded off at the pet shop. Having instantly connected with it, she begged Levi to get it. And with a heavy sigh, he couldn't say no. Mind you, it was pretty much dead at that point, but through endless observation and whatever mutated food concoction Hange whipped up, it came back to life in a matter of weeks. And in turn, Levi had somewhat grown attached to it. Hange liked to joke that it was their baby and it resembled them both in some ways.
Their days spent together were a blend of their interests mixed into one. When Hange wanted to settle down and read, Levi would do skin care for both of them to make use of their time. All the while Hange reading aloud the words from her book so Levi could listen as well. When Levi wanted to clean the house, Hange knew better than to lend a hand as he was peculiar in his ways. So instead she'd make some tea for both of them and cook dinner for a famished Levi by the end of his cleaning session. On days Hange felt like watching a documentary on bugs or microbes, Levi would lay his head on her lap as she brushed her fingers through his locks. The soothing motion letting him get some shut eye he usually never got due to his insomnia.
Hange had a habit of working overtime, and sometimes even staying overnight at her lab. On days like these Levi would pack up some sweets from his shop and some warm tea and bring them to her office as he kept her company. On the off days Hange had a day off, she'd use it to help around in Levi's shop. Chatting up customers and bringing a bright feeling to the atmosphere. Levi absolutely adored watching her laugh and interact with regulars from behind the counter. Although he'd never voice these thoughts aloud. But it wasn't needed, as his employees, Jean, Sasha, and Connie all make kissy faces to each other whenever they caught Levi glancing a little too long at his partner.
Levi didn't like to admit it, but most of his photos on his phone were of candid pictures of Hange. But not the flattering ones most boyfriends take of their girlfriends that are Instagram worthy. No, most of them were completely unflattering. Many consisting of Hange snoring with her mouth wide open, of her laying in a pile of dirt after having chased a squirrel. Of Hange throwing a middle finger to the camera after being caught without caffeine early in the morning, or even of her snorting in laughter after something funny Erwin had told them during one of their get togethers.
He was absolutely infatuated with her. With her quirks and her being. He was in love with Hange Zoe.
And similarly, Hange kept a record of all the plants and bouquets Levi gave her over the years. A collection of pressed flowers and dried leaves from every flora and fauna he'd ever gifted her. Because as much as she loved flowers, she loved more the effort gone into picking a different flower each time they had a celebration. Because as Levi had once told her, she was so unique that not one flower could ever describe her, and that he could never tie her down to one specific plant.
Normal dates like going to the mall or watching movies before dinner on a weekend weren't their thing. Instead, beach dates in mid freezing February nights, stargazing spontaneously on a random Wednesday night, running around the fields of the neighbourhood Hange grew in during summer afternoons, hiding from thugs after trespassing someone's property to take a look at the size of a wasp's nest, ending with the nest falling to the ground and its inhabitants swarming around the local outlaws on a spring morning... All were chaotic memories that belonged only to them. Those were the kind of dates they had.
They never had to verbally express their admiration or love for each other openly. Or make it everyone's business to know that they were together because they had upmost trust in their partnership and relationship without having to project it to the world in a fright of being misunderstood. Both knowing perfectly well how much they cared and loved each other in the small gestures they shared: The little brush of fingertips as they greeted each other goodbye before work. In the way they worked in sync when working together on a project for their new home. Of how they made love to each other in the warm embrace of each other, blinds closed and moans silenced between their interexchange of kisses. Making their love known only between themselves. It never became a pressing matter having everyone else know their business or feeling the need to explain their relationship to others. In the end, their actions spoke louder than words, and everyone could tell that they had the upmost trust in their relationship.
But in the calmness and safety of their bubble, eventually doubt would emerge, and leak a hole in their safe haven, no matter how much effort they put into keeping it afloat.
Hange absolutely loved and had a strange fascination for energy drinks infused in coffee, the ones that had 10 times the amount than should be allowed by any manufacturers or allowed to pass inspections. So much so that she'd stop by the convenience store on the corner of their apartment every time she came back from work. Bringing with her at least 10 cans with her.
Levi, despite his eye rolls and grumbles about over caffeination and annoyance at having a bunch of empty cans to constantly recycle, still got them for her whenever he passed by on his way from the tea store nonetheless. Loving and having a soft spot for the way Hange's eyes lit up and the way she threw herself at him every time he brought it for her.
Due to their different time schedules they never got to meet up to shop together, but nonetheless they each become regulars in the little shop for the drinks Hange so badly craved.
It was one day that Hange came back, a look of complete defeat on her face as she slummed against the door that Levi understood something was wrong. That, and the fact her hands were empty of her usual drinks.
"Finally figured out you were consuming poison?" Levi questioned as he started unclasping her shoes, carefully placing them on the shoe rack.
Shaking her head sadly, Hange sighed. "No... they hiked up the prices again. I know we're tight on money so I can't go buying five dollar coffee from the convenience store anymore... I guess I'll just have to settle for the stale decaf coffee they have at the office."
"Tch... don't exaggerate, Four-Eyes. The drinks were never more than two bucks." Levi muttered, taking her jacket off and placing it on the hanger.
Hange's brows furrowed. "Two bucks? When have they ever been that cheap? I've always been paying four fifty."
"Huh? What fucking store have you been to? It's been two fifty since we've moved here." Levi grumbled, flicking his finger over her forehead.
The topic brought on an argument that lasted the whole night over who was right and wrong. And it only settled when they both agreed to go to the store the following day together. Luckily it was a national holiday and neither had to go to work.
The following day, in typical Hange fashion, she'd forgotten to feed One-Eyed Moody. Refusing to leave the house without feeding him first, she told Levi to go on first, and that she'd meet him in the store.
But what she found as she entered the familiar shop was something she'd never expected. The usually bored clerk was suddenly chirpy and chatting up no other than her boyfriend. Levi on the other hand, seemed quite discontented from the conversation, but kept adding a word or two in politeness.
Suddenly catching his girlfriend's gaze, Levi started raising his hand to signal her over, when Hange crossed her hands in front of her, shaking her head vigorously as she unlinked and relinked her arms in the cross motion, signaling behind the cashier's back for Levi to not blow her cover.
Confused at her sudden antics, he furrowed his brows, but did as instructed, following Hange's pointed look to the cooler housing her favourite drinks before she mouthed "cashier, go pay for them!".
It was only after he exited the store ten whole minutes later, an annoyed look on his face that Hange finally pounced on him.
"So?"
"So what? You left me to listen to that girl talk about bad dates alone for ten minutes. Here's your stupid drinks." Levi grumbled, throwing the plastic bag into her arms.
Shaking her head, Hange stopped him from walking towards their home's direction. "NO! I meant, how much did you pay?"
"Ah... like I said, two bucks each." He said, annoyance still laced in his words.
And that's when it clicked for Hange. "Ah huh! I knew it! Levi! She's into you! She's been giving you a discount in order to get you to pay attention to her! She's been flirting with you this whole time!"
And instead of how a typical girlfriend would act after having found out their boyfriend was being hit on by someone else, Hange looked absolutely elated.
"Why you so happy about that? Are you not afraid that I'll reciprocate her someday?"
Of course they both knew he was kidding. The bond and love they shared with each other, despite being subtle, was very much irreplaceable.
"Because, it means that from now on, I get to stock up on my favourite drinks at a nice price!"
"Tch... you don't even know if she actually lowered the price, Four-eyes. Maybe you got charged extra by accident."
But having stepped into the store and bringing back a drink with her, Hange had confirmed for both of them all they needed to know.
And so, that day forward, it became their little secret. Levi would get Hange her drinks at a discounted price because of a crush the cashier had on him.
At first everything seemed alright, but slowly as time progressed, Levi seemed more distant and dejected every time he returned from the store. Hange seemed to pick up on his change of mood, but wasn't sure what was causing it. So instead she watched on in silence as Levi's presence became more and more cold.
Unsure of how to bring it up, she watched silently, until eventually Levi was the first to bring it up.
"Hange... are you okay with someone else hitting on me? Are you fine of having others perceiving me as single?" Levi asked suddenly one night. They were doing their usual pre-bed night routine as Levi prepped their ten stepped skin care for both of them. Hange resting her head on his lap, a book open in front of her.
"Hm? No... Should I be?" She asked, her eyes still glued to the words on the pages before her.
Levi's hands stilled completely, bringing a silence over them following Hange's words.
"No... nothing." He muttered finally, getting up. "I'm done. Don't go to bed too late." He said before walking towards their shared bedroom, his face concealed by the dark room.
At first Hange sat there in confusion. What was up with him and his weird questions? She thought about going to him and getting an answer out of him, but as her gaze fell over the bottles of her favourite drink sitting by the doorstep, realization fell over her. And her heart shattered.
The following day, Levi was doing the usual run. Head downcast and eyes unfocused, he forced on a smile that didn't reach his eyes as the cashier continued telling him something he assumed was supposed to be funny.
"Anyways, that'd be ten dollars."
The usual conversation... the usual dissociation... the same dull pain he felt at pretending to be interested in someone he had no feelings for.
"If you're free, I've been thinking... maybe we can get to know each other outside of the sto-"
As Levi started handing over the bill, already coming up with a plausible excuse to not go on a date, a hand suddenly stopped him, pulling him back.
"Sorry, I think you've got the wrong price! The price tag reads five dollars for a drink, and we got five of them here. I think- I think you might be undercharging us!" A bright voice chirped out of breath.
"Hange?" Levi asked surprised, turning to see the mess of a woman before him. She was absolutely out of breath, her lab coat was still on her figure, where a bunch of stains of various unnatural colours painted the once white cloth, and worse of all, she had goggles over her glasses, and that wasn't counting the pair that hung from her neck or the one on her forehead.
"Sorry I'm late. Work took longer to finish than I thought." She puffed out, throwing him a wide smile.
The cashier cleared her throat, noticing the gaze between them, not liking how close they seemed. "Uh... I'm sure I put the price right... I'll go check on the price tags after I ring this customer." She said as she turned back to Levi, her eyes still turning to take a look at Hange. "Don't worry about it, pay the usual price you pay."
But before she could continue, Hange inserted herself once more. "No need! I've got the rest of the money here." She said, pulling out a bunch of lose change from her pockets. Some which fell to the floor if not rolling on the counter.
"Oops..."
"Ma'am... I'm sorry, but can you please wait for your turn? I'm helping this customer over here first. I'll get back to you af-"
"We're paying together. These are for her. She's my girlfriend." Levi said.
A stunned silence fell over the three of them at Levi's words. His confession even surprising Hange as it was the first time she'd heard him introduce her as his girlfriend to anyone else other than their family and friends.
There was a certain pride in his eyes as he finally got to call her his in public. He wasn't one for public affection, or making the world know of his business. But there was something that warmed his chest in having others see them as a couple. Of having made it known that Hange was his. And only his.
Hange smiled. "25 should be the full price." She said, picking up the forgotten coins on the counter before interlacing her fingers with Levi's, and rushing out the door together with his hand in hers. The wind carrying her contagious laugh as they made their way to their apartment. Onlookers and everything else be damned.
"Aren't you sad?" Levi finally asked as they crashed onto the floor of their entrance hall after having run all the way up the stairs to their home.
"Over?" She asked breathlessly, turning to look at her lover.
"The fact you'll have to pay more for the drinks. Or at least cut down on them."
Hange chuckled, a bright twinkle of amusement amongst her brown eyes. "It's worth it. I'd rather pay more for my drinks than lose that warmth of yours... I don't want the love of my life to feel like I'm hiding our relationship. Besides... It was kind of sexy having you put claim over me in front of someone who had eyes on you for a long time."
"Fucking unbelievable." Levi grumbled, causing Hange to giggle before rolling over so she was just over his face. A serious look suddenly taking over her features.
"I love you, Levi. You and no one else."
"I love you too, Four-Eyes." Levi whispered back, placing a hand to the back of her head to bring her closer to him. "Who else can drive me as insane as you?"
And with it, they melted into a kiss.

34-year-old Levi Ackerman was very popular among his female customers. Many of them coming to his tea shop just to catch a glimpse of this very handsome man. Of course, Levi had his own share of sexual encounters with some of them, but nothing really evolved into a serious relationship as many of these women couldn't handle his aloof personality. One day on a very busy day , he accidentally bumps into someone, spilling tea and breaking his teacups. Of course , without thinking and his patience out the door, he tells the stranger " to watch where the fuck they're going." The response he gets from the stranger wasn't something he was expecting. " well it's kind of difficult to see from only one eye." Finally looking up to the stranger, Levi is met with a big brown eye that seemed to sparkle with curiosity and a smile that seemed to be shy and apologetic. Coming out of his daze, he finally notices the eye patch and the walking cane that this stranger is using. Their hand was red, which had burned as a result of the tea spilling.
Another idea that popped up in mind lol, I'm still thinking how I want this to evolve

The setting autumn sun cast its light over the heavy clouds, tinting the twisted branches and leafy ground in different shades of pink and orange. Robins and sparrows sang lazily into the day-end, as an early owl started its hooting, creating a transitional orchestra that tingled their ears as the cold breeze kissed their bare arms, carrying the earthy omen of rain. Levi stopped in his tracks, head up and eyes closed, and drew in a deep breath.
“We’re lost, aren’t we?” he exhaled, defeated.
“Uh? Of course not! I know exactly where we’re going.” Hange replied, still moving forward.
“You don’t” he defied, feet planted on the same spot. “We’re walking in circles.”
Hange stopped this time, looking back, one eyebrow shooting up in challenge.
“It’s the third time we’ve walked past that rock that looks like Mr. Shadis’ goatee.” He pointed at the mineral cone that reminded him of their college professor. When Levi signed up for the Introduction to Philosophy class, he had no expectations other than getting some much-needed elective credit. It wasn’t in his plans to make new acquaintances, let alone any friends, yet, here he was, hiking with the cuckoo geology major he had gotten to know over several Thursday nights at the university.
“Shit!” Hange cursed, eyebrows frowning as they examined the rock, the serious expression suddenly giving way to a wonderful titter “It does look like his goatee!”
Levi sighed, though, in all honesty, the thing he liked most about Hange was their easy laugh. Paired with their insatiable curiosity and kind heart. Their gorgeous brown eyes, which made any of those precious gems of theirs fade in comparison, weren’t bad either…
Levi cleared his throat. “We should just go back, It’ll be dark soon. You can get your soil samples or whatever another day.”
“Yeah, cool.” Hange replied, absent-mindedly, eyes gazing at a small clearing a few meters away from the goatee rock “But can we eat first?”
“I wouldn’t do that. Looks like it’s gonna rain”, he explained, pointing at the sky, but Hange was already moving to the chosen spot, setting the backpack they usually took to classes on the ground. He followed them, without energy or interest in arguing, after all, it was an opportunity to spend more time with his alluring colleague.
He started working the zipper to get his water bottle and the two granola bars he’d prepared for the short exploration, but stopped as he watched his companion setting their meal. First, Hange stretched a large, flowery tablecloth over the dry grass. Weird. Ok. Then, they started to take an endless parade of tupperwares from inside the bag.
“How the hell did you fit it all in this thing??” Levi asked, flabbergasted after the ninth container emerged from beneath the fabric.
Hange winked “It’s bigger on the inside.
”He couldn’t contain the amused puff that followed their reply. Levi had started watching Doctor Who after he learned the geologist was a fan of the show. It was a good move, as it allowed them to talk about something other than their college disciplines, which kicked off their friendship. Still, almost three months later and Hange had yet to make their move. Maybe the interest was one-sided, after all.
They sat side by side, so close that Levi could pick up on a citric aroma emanating from their shiny, yet messy hair. He was used to the oily smell of their brown locks, but the sudden change was pleasant. It was weird though, for Hange to wash their hair right before a hike.
Their purple sleeveless sweatshirt rubbed against his arms as Hange opened the containers, arranging the food over the ornated fabric in an aesthetically pleasing pattern. Generous bunches of purple and green seedless grapes. Tiny triangular sandwiches, filled with white cheese and leafy vegetables. Chocolate-covered cream cookies. Cakes. Toasts. Pastries Levi whose names didn’t even know. Steam emerged from the Thermos the second Hange removed the lid, the smell of orange and mint slowly being transported to his nostrils. Levi had been meaning to try that blend. He even mentioned it-
Suddenly, it dawned on him.
“Is this-” he started slow, hesitating as the terrifying thought he might be jumping to conclusions set off loud warning sirens in his head.
“What?” Hange asked casually, still focused on organizing their very romantic-looking meal.
They looked up slowly when Levi didn’t respond. The gorgeous brown gems scanned Levi so intently that it made a shiver run down his spine. He gulped.
Hange sat on their knees, shifting their body to face Levi. He’d never seen them so serious before.
“What?” they repeated.
“Is this a date?” Levi blurted out, inhaling sharply right after.
Calloused hands slid up his cheeks, as Hange brought their faces closer. Levi could feel his skin growing warmer under their fingers, and it wasn’t because of the shared body heat. “If I told you it wasn’t, would you be relieved?” they asked, eyes gazing sweetly into his, a semblance of vulnerability in them.
Levi let his palms fall to Hange’s forearms, caressing the soft skin and making the hairs in there shoot up “I would be disappointed.”
The radiant smile that they offered in response made Levi’s stomach flutter and his heart pound fast against his ribcage. He was hooked, and he didn’t mind it at all.
Levi’s hands moved from Hange’s arms to their waist, pulling them in for the kiss he’d been yearning for so long. He reveled in the feeling of their soft lips against his own, the wet warmness of their tongue asking for access, and the muffled moan they let out once it was granted. Hange’s hand moved to the back of his neck, seeking leverage to deepen the kiss, the other holding Levi in a tight embrace. He could stay in their arms forever.
Soon he felt a cold spot on his arm. Then on his face. On his neck.
“It’s raining!” Hange pointed out, moving to disentangle from Levi.
He held them closer, whispering against their lips “It’s alright. We’re not made of sugar.”

(for my modern au where levi is armin’s adopted dad)
armin begged levi to buy this tea set for his birthday as a kid and now it is the primary set they use. at first, he’d allow mikasa to use “his” cup when she was over, but eventually he bought an extra set so that mikasa could have her own tadpole cup (the extra tea pot was put in armin’s room as a decoration).
Tumblr media
after getting together with hange, she was allowed the other tadpole cup.
…eren and jean were out of luck, though. they got sad cups. sorry guys, levi’s rules.

This is routine. The old ABBA album playing on the tv. The smell of lavender detergent seeping through every corner of their living room.
Hanji sings, as they cook dinner for Erwin and the rest, and he helps in every now and again: tasting the handmade tomatoe sauce for experimentation, telling them if they'd gone overboard with salt or pepper, too.
They've been living together for a little over two years now: his stuff all neatly placed next to messy paperwork and crumpled lab reports, their laundry room huddled with medic white coats and wrinkled colored socks.
Hanji always tells him it's an eclectic clash of styles, indeed: the opposites-attract making an authentic work of art out of their small, shared apartment. And he agrees, nevertheless, though: toothbrushes green and purple sitting together atop the sink, black dress-shoes combined with yellow Crocs on their closet-shelves.
He smiles, and takes a quick look at them over his shoulder. It seems now, that a tropical hurricane has howled through their kitchen, turned the furniture upside-down.
"I pomise I'll be cleaning things up soon!", Hanji rushes to say, shouting over the music, almost as if they'd just read right through his stare. And he can only thank them for it, really, even when they don't do enough to reach his awfully-high hygene standards:
That they've been steadily patient to study the parts of his heart that hurt. That they've learnt how to love him from dusk to sunrise, constant and in spite of it all.
He nods, and turns back to mopping the wood floors a second time, just in case one wasn't ever good enough. He knows he'll probably have to do it over again once Hanji is done with the meal, but he doesn't mind much.
This is routine, he tells himself. And, as he hears their voice invade their newly-called home with yet another melody, he's sure:
He wouldn't trade it for the world.

Levihan Headcanon
I'm the last person to think of anything this cheesy but I'm feeling shitty about the end of Attack on Titan coming soon and my brain spat out this crap. Sorry, I am complete and utter trash. I normally hate it when people change characters from how they appear in canon but I can't help being a hypocrit. Ah, kill me.
I think Levi and Hange are both romantically inept people and, if they were in a relationship, would be content to live together without going down the route of marriage etc for tradition's sake. Neither of them are conventional, so their relationship wouldn't be either.
Saying this, I read a beautiful doujinshi (posted to Tumblr here) which tells the story of Levi's failed attempts to convince Hange for some form of commitment. Hange is constantly away travelling and Levi feels that their long-term relationship isn't moving forward as it should be. Eventually, after a minor ordeal, she decides she's ready and poses the question to Levi. What I can't stop thinking about is:
Hange being the one to propose
Levi taking Miche and Erwin out for a drink (which he never instigates). They assume he's asking them to be groomsmen but he actually needs consoling/advice after Hange's first rejection.
And (biggest piece of trash) - once it's finally happened, Levi goes out and chooses a ring simply because he wants Hange to have it. Nothing to do with tradition, no stone, just something that has symbolic meaning for the both of them (and she was never expecting it because neither are into traditions like this)
Tumblr media
I died about 5 times thinking all of this up. I'mma see myself out.

Chapter 2 uploaded.
Now they're together, life should be smooth sailing. But Levi's incessant need to draw a portrait of Hange stirs up insecurities about her scars.
Flicking between Hange's present day thoughts and important moments from Levi's past, Hange comes to terms with what it means to be someone’s muse.

Levi ends up regularly sitting in on the get-togethers between the old ladies in his and Hange's apartment as they knit and play cards. He's one of the gals.
More Levihan modern AU headcanons with your lovely prompts (y’all are geniuses I swear)💖💖💖💖💖
This is the AU where Levi and Hanji live in an area where it’s predominantly old people and they have a black lab named Bean. I love this neighbourhood. I love this AU😭:
Levi for sure gets asked to come sit when the old ladies who live in their neighbourhood come over for potluck and bridge. Hanji is so bad at bridge but she insists she’s getting better. Levi helps her out sometimes (“goddamn Hanji why are you still so shitty at this?”)- the old ladies allow for it because it’s cute and funny and they all have a laugh. If Levi’s not helping her, he’s crocheting/cross-stitching beside Hanji. The ladies teach him some of the more complex patterns. He’s pretty good at it.
He also sits really quiet and listens when the ladies trade gossip. Hanji loves stirring the pot. Hanji doesn’t know who they’re gossiping about but adds in lots of “oooohs” and “ahhhs”, asks them to elaborate, “oooh she sounds like a bitch!”, “how can he do that! Unacceptable!”. Levi secretly loves the drama even though him and Hanji aren’t personally invested.
The one story they ARE personally invested in however- a friend of a friend’s husband’s brother who had recently gone missing. His family found a stack of cash, gold, a gun, and wristwatches of varying sizes in his garage. Serial killer? International super spy? Who knows!
Bean hangs around the table because two of the ladies will sneak him some of their homemade meatballs. It’s a little competition between them and they’re each convinced Bean prefers their recipe. But he doesn’t discriminate. He just loves meatballs. Levi’s eye will twitch because that means Bean will be gassy all night. Stinky boy.
Bridge night is also when Hanji makes her famous pesto with basil from the community gardens. Hanji’s not so good at bridge, not the best at knitting (she’s able to replicate a pattern but kinda loses it when it comes to making anything more complicated than a scarf), but she’s really good at gardening. Like really good. She often has to give away produce because there’s just that much.
They’re pretty much the IT support/tech troubleshoot of the entire apartment complex. As mentioned, they live in a place that’s predominantly older people, that makes them the token young couple. So they get a lot of knocks on their door for computer/phone problems (“Alexa isn’t replying anymore. Is it her day off?”/ “my grandkids want to speak with me. How do I work a Zoom?”). Tbh Levi’s really shit with tech too, so if he answers the door he has to shout for Hanji. His expertise goes as far as changing the batteries in the remote control and force shutting a computer. The old people are always so thankful. Very often Hanji and Levi get introduced to the whole extended family on video call.
After work they sometimes go to this little Chinese hole in the wall (they often get takeout from there too). And the grandpa who owns the place always gives them free sides? And they’re always sides that aren’t even in the menu?! As a joke he calls Levi and Hanji his grandkids and as a joke they call him grandpa. Except it isn’t a joke anymore and their picture is on the wall with the rest of his grandkids’ photos.
