ok y'know the feeling when. you're watching a tv show right. and there are these two side characters that just kinda seem to have the vibe y'know? but it's just a little headcanon right it's not gonna go anywhere, you won't see anything onscreen. and you just resign yourself to grinning at every look the two characters share and stashing away moments and pieces of dialogue to fuel your daydreams and imagination. because of course you have to imagine seven different scenarios for their first kiss and different ways for their relationship to develop and all that.

same for books actually. it happens in books too. just two side characters minding their own business. although i guess maybe in books it's more likely to end up being deliberate on the author's part and end up being canon.

anyway point being. what if. what happens when. what do you do with yourself when there comes a scene. and the two of them are alone at night by a campfire on their way to find the protagonist. and they're talking about the battle tomorrow. and one of them says so if we all die tomorrow and the other one says which we probably will and the first one continues what's one thing you haven't done and you sit up straighter and grab a pillow and he says that you'd really like to have done and you're going come onn coME ONNN and the second one goes honestly? and the first one goes honestly and tHe sEcONd OnE LeaNs oVEr aNd KisSEs HiM what do you do with yourself then. serious question.

question for my fellow merthur compatriots, i recently started reading a merlin canon fix-it where merlin’s modern name was emrys hunithson, and like i love that name, touching, meaningful. but that and another post on this website has me thinking about the lovely alternatives merlin might use as his name in a modern world.

like yeah, he could go by merlin emrys, merlin hunithson, emrys hunithson

but imagine if he took up the last name pendragon.

1500 years pass and merlin’s traveling the world as merlin pendragon, as emrys pendragon or better yet

ambrose pendragon.

merlin signs all his contracts and credit card receipts with the name a. pendragon.

Danny’s school held a contest where their students would have to write about a member of the Justice League that they admired. They framed it as a normal assignment and then mailed them to the hero. Danny didn’t think anything of his letter until he gets a few letters pop in front of him, apparently if you burn a letter for a ghost the recipient will get it. Danny thinks back to his own letter to Martian Manhunter and he remembers mentioning in his letter that not all ghosts were bad and he wishes they had the same rights as aliens did.

Of course the Justice League shows up to town and Danny is star struck as Martian Manhunter shows up to Danny’s doorstep to ask about his letter.

Hey, so today KING IN LIMBO volume 1 came out, and I HIGHLY recommend it. Full disclosure: I’m the letterer on this manga. Kodansha paid me for that, but not to plug this book, or to gush about it with the editor. This is probably my favorite title I’ve ever worked on. The SF premise is very cool and the sense of place is spot on, but what makes KING IN LIMBO stand out is the multifaceted, layered main character. If you’re into grounded, character-heavy SF and want more comics for mature readers please check it out.

I just got the script and assets for the third and final volume and am so excited to see how it wraps up.

I actually adore the thought of Cardan and Jude’s everyday life. Like that “I pretend like I hate you, but you know I love you” type of banter, is EVERYTHING. Like he’s so obsessed with her, and everything she does. Jude could kill someone (she has, multiple) and he’d still adore her. I do like how his first instinct isn’t murder though, when compared to hers. They balance each other so well. I find myself thinking about them often, and that’s when you know it’s a good book. When I went into that first book, I did not expect it to become so beloved among my collection.

I will say this— Ezran’s speech being played over Claudia and Ibis’s deadly fight has to be the most powerful scene of this season, and one of the most powerful animated scenes I’ve seen in general.
