Whether you interpret Enjolras as a raging homosexual or a proud aroace lad, I find it a little funny that everyone collectively agrees that man does NOT like women. Sure, it’s explicitly in the text, but usually you’d get at least a few people desperately trying to cope otherwise.

Enjolras, the believer, despised the sceptic and soberly deplored the drunkard. His attitude towards him was one of pitying disdain. Grantaire was an unwelcome Hephaestion. But, roughly treated though he was by Enjolras, harshly repulsed and rejected, he always came back, saying of him: ‘What fine marble!’

*sees a gay couple* so which one of you is the angelically beautiful, charming young man capable of being terrible, at once scholarly and warlike, both a thinker and a man of action, and which one is the sceptic, the anarchic questioner of all beliefs, scornful of allegiance to any cause, incapable of belief, of thought, of will, of life, and of death?
