Duolingo Alternatives by Language
Disclaimer: I haven't used or tested all of them. All resources have different strengths, e.g. Drops being designed for vocabulary. They often aren't full alternatives for Duolingo or formal classes. I just wanted to compile resources for all languages on Duolingo to make the switch easier, especially for the less popular languages.
Feel free to also check out my collection of free textbooks
If you want a more detailed resource list for any of these languages (or perhaps one not listed here) you can send me an ask and I can see what I can do.

About Me:
My name is Claire but you can call me Eri or Echo! I go by they/them pronouns (also found in my bio). I'm an 18 year old based in the United States.
Since I was young, art and writing have played a major role in my life. Hense, it has been a passion of mine that I'm endlessly turning back to. I'm currently studying creative writing, book publishing, and graphic design online; later hoping to study art history and print production. If I could, I'd indulge in every form of art that there is. I deeply enjoy helping other indie writers and creatives alike out in their journey, from ARC reading to showcasing their small business'!
To date, my poetry has been published in nearly 50 magazines and lit journals across the globe. I plan on releasing 4+ poetry/prose chapbooks, so keep an eye out for any updates regarding them! Moreover, I'm in the process of writing a few novels in an array of genres, sneak peaks of the stories may be shone!
You can find out more about me on my Website as well as on Instagram, Pinterest, and Spotify.
Languages I know: English (native), Vietnamese, Thai, Norwegian, Irish, Japanese, Hebrew, Czech, Indonesian, Hungarian, Hindi, Finnish, Ukrainian, Italian, Icelandic, Arabic, French, Malayalam, Swahili, and Swedish.

Some of my favorite things: Rainy days, any kind of tea, flowers, exploring, the night sky, sunsets/sunrises, bookstores, cozy coffeeshops, nature walks, old books, sweaters, making art, creating playlists, volunteering, and learning about other cultures!
Fun Facts: I have undiagnosed ADHD, dyslexia, am queer identifying, gender non-conforming, and practice Shintō.
Blog:
Erie Autumn Skies will center around creativity and where I find inspiration. Expect postcard-poems, letters of prose, possible short stories, translated works of original poems, artwork, and so forth! I may post book reviews and travel photos now and then, too! This will be a writeblr blog and a personal blog! I am open to tag games, asks, etc. as long as they are writing related.
I'm open to DMs and collaborations if you ever want to chat or write together! Everything is okay to reblog. However, no resharing my work outside of Tumblr without my permission. Additionally, I'm open to requests for short poems as long as the prefered theme is included in your request and credit is given wherever the poem is shared.

Re: refrainbow (creator of the Boyfriends webtoon) saying the n-word. (Note, I'll be switching between he and they pronouns for refrainbow, since he uses both, I hope it doesn't end up confusing. Also, the bold is to help with reading (at least, it helps with my ADHD, but there's also a td;lr at the bottom as well))
I don't have screenshots or links, but it's been noted that refrainbow has admitted to having said it when he was younger and still learning English (mostly from the internet). They are Indonesian and did not know the history behind the slur. I'm not sure they even knew it was a slur until getting called out for it; from what I've seen, refrainbow thought it was English slang calling someone stupid or bad, due to learning it through I think gaming, where the n-word and other slurs were often thrown around liberally.
People ofc are valid being wary around refrainbow or anyone who's used the n-word or other slurs as general insults (or just saying them in general). No one is entitled to anyone's forgiveness.
One thing I've seen thought up, though, is people saying that refrainbow should have known anyway that the word was off-limits. One anti art-commentary youtuber said, "I knew as a little kid that it was a BAD word, that you just DO NOT say." And yes, as an American kid, I'm sure they were observant enough to realize that it was a horrible word, even if they did not automatically know the history of that word.
Refrainbow is NOT American. He was learning English mainly through the internet, iirc, and even if he was also taking formal English classes, there usually isn't a section on slurs in said language. Now, in my French class, part of the lesson plan was learning about racism north African and Middle Eastern people faced in France (a very compressed lesson; I barely remember what the teacher told us in that lecture). We were not told slurs and told "Do not, under any circumstances, say these words." If I'd been in an online gaming community with a bunch of French kids back then, there is every possibility I could have repeated slurs in French, not knowing they were slurs, if everyone around me were using them like general insults. I would have assumed it was slang first, not slurs.
As for why antis add refrainbow saying the n-word at the very end of a rant/call-out, this is a pretty common tactic that I've seen in call-out-type posts I end up coming across. Lots of buzzwords are used, many with the barest amount of "evidence" (if there is any, or if there is, it's usually worst-faith takes of some post or passage from a fic). Usually it's full of rhetoric meant to stoke people's anger or disgust, and then at the very end is a claim not mentioned in the bulk of the call-out/rant and usually a shorter sentence. It's usually something worse than what else has been stated and may or may not come with actual proof, and this last part might be actually true or true if you hide context around it.
I think there are two main reasons for this. One is that depending on how long the call-out/rant is, most people are more likely to pay attention to just the beginning and end parts, skimming over the rest. Placing "the worse/worst thing" at the end then makes sure people actually read it. Another reason (tied to the first reason) is that this last point is more likely to stick in people's memories this way, so if people only skimmed the rest, they're more likely to believe the other points are true, too, especially if that last point has evidence attached or is easily searched.
There's been a few call-outs in my fandom recently (some were technically responses to earlier call-outs, showing proof that the original people making their call-out posts were lying/twisting the truth), so whenever I find myself getting disgusted or upset, I make sure to go back and read it more closely (if the call-out is about someone I follow/a mutual; I don't have energy to read rants about people I've never heard of before).
td;lr: refrainbow did say the n-word before, he's apologized, explaining that he was still learning English at the time and didn't know how bad the word was, and using points like this at the bottom of a call-out post seems to be deliberate, so that people remember The Bad Thing about the person more clearly.

...or at least I think I do.
Anyway, something tells me that it'd be neat to have a well-organised pinned post, so here goes.
I go by M around this place, and I've been back here since 2020 after almost a decade of absence from this hellsite. I'm a 28-year-old queer woman from Indonesia, and I spend around 30% of my fandom life writing fic, 5% being a connoisseur of...less-than-stellar and often obscure movies starring hot actresses that I like (Jeri Ryan, Gates McFadden, Denise Crosby, Laura Innes, Sherry Stringfield, Maura Tierney to name a few...), and the remaining 65% lamenting the fact that I'm a fandom participant from a non-Western country where English is not an official language which is...well, let's say it can be quite a lonely existence.
My two primary fandoms here are ER and Star Trek (The Next Generation, Voyager, Picard), so you'll find that most of my posts and reblogs are related to those two - with a dash of other stuff. I got into ER during lockdown in 2020, and it remains one of the best decisions I've ever made. It is my favourite show ever, and as of now Kerry Weaver is still the only queer character on TV that I can relate to fully as a struggling queer woman in a less-than-supportive environment. ER was also my entry to online fandom spaces, particularly Twitter and Tumblr. Star Trek is the one fandom I never expected to really get into, given that I was never too big on sci-fi, though according to my mum it runs in the family since my late grandfather loved The Original Series and was an admirer of Spock. So far I have watched TNG, VOY, and PIC, with VOY being my favourite - especially my beloved former Borg drone and half-Klingon.
As I said, fanfiction is my thing here and I've been into it since I was around 14 - though I didn't start writing seriously until I was an adult. Among other things, fic helped me learn English tremendously as a teenager, and though naturally I still make mistakes here and there I feel far more confident writing fic in English than in Indonesian, lol. So far I have 29 published works on AO3, all ER and Trek. My favourite characters, and thus the ones I write the most about, are Kerry Weaver, Susan Lewis, Abby Lockhart, and Carol Hathaway (ER); Tasha Yar, Data, Beverly Crusher, and Deanna Troi (TNG); and Kathryn Janeway, B'Elanna Torres, and Seven of Nine (VOY). My preferred ships are Kerry/Susan, Kerry/Abby, and Abby/Susan (ER); Picard/Crusher and Data/Tasha (TNG); and B'Elanna/Seven (VOY).
These are some of my personal favourites that I've written:
ER The Ache for Home (Kerry/Susan) When All We Have is Here and Now (Kerry/Susan) In a Sacred Place (Kerry/Susan) Like Nothing Before (Abby/Susan)
Star Trek In Salvo (TNG x VOY crossover; Seven, the Doctor, & Beverly) The Colours Are Bright (VOY; Janeway & Seven) One Hundred Hours (VOY; B'Elanna & Seven)
For more of those, here's my AO3 profile - do feel free to leave a comment if you enjoy any of my works! I also take prompts for the aforementioned fandoms, and if you have any please hit me up here. In case you somehow happen to enjoy my vibes, I'm also on Twitter as @lobsterbreaker and my ask here is (almost) always open. In addition, I'm a mod on two queer-focused Discord servers: que[ER] Fic and Fandom for all things ER fanfiction and fandom with a twist of gayness and Space MILFs for our favourite hot ladies in space - please let me know if you're interested in joining either (or both 👀)!
That's about it, really, so if you've been so kind to bear with me here you fucking rock, I love you, I wish you the best yadda yadda yadda, and here's to more medical and space shenanigans!

hnngngg i'm still stuck on this decision whether i wanna learn tagalog or indonesian (i could learn both eventually but i can't learn them at the same time)
tagalog i wanted to learn first because of filipino/artph friends and mutuals and there's a couple movies and shows I like, and i like the way that tagalog sounds more than indonesian
but indonesian has easier grammar, has more convenient resources for learning, more speakers overall, and more music and online content that i enjoy than tagalog, and i find it easier to get drawn into indonesian for those reasons
but i'd also feel weirdly bad about choosing indonesian because i wanna learn my friends' language :( (even though they can all speak english perfectly fluently with me already asdjdfvdgb) (haven't made any indonesian-speaking friends (yet))

its not even the shipping stuff that really pisses me off. its everything about it... a mainstream political page about indonesia thats entirely written in english and mired with stan culture (butchered AAVE) language and chock filled with usamerican pop culture references. the way it only focuses itself on electoralism and voting as the only valid way of political struggle as if we didnt have a struggling yet developing grassroot orgs and protest scenes of our own. its the pessimistic comments of im moving out im moving out of this shithole to europe/usa/aussie/japan.
it paints a segment of indonesian youth who is choking on their own self-hate and powerlessness and yet never even consider to unlearn their own internalized racism and colonial mentalities. very much a slave for the "international rules based order", never wants to learn about the role of imperialism, colonialism, and us-backed intervention in this country and how it perpetuates it in the modern day. but then its not like they want to learn. most of them are in that upper-middle class strata who aspire to leave and be good immigrants and progressive liberals in the imperial core. the actual horrors of the oligarchy never touches them. dont get me wrong, aspiring to work or live abroad isnt bad actually, got get that bag sister, i want to do the same, but the way some of them look down on ppl who dont leave, or absentmindedly paint their own home country as a backwards hellhole that needed saving. ugh. its disgusting.
tbf, theyre just a small yet vocal minority online, theyre very much apathetic from the get-go so its very much me getting annoyed at terminally online losers. but still. ANNOYING AS HELL
also the admin of that page likes hamilton. so obviously i'd hate them.

the fact that you’ve retained so many languages is craaazy!!! both my parents speak a different language (urdu/bahasa indonesia) and i spent 11 years learning arabic because it was mandatory in the school i went to but i’ve never been able to fully retain any of the three languages, so while i technically understand four, i only speak one
i also like to say that i understand hindi because it’s very similar to urdu and bahasa melayu because that’s close to indonesian to make myself feel better about it haha
- 🪐
honestly i think i’m lucky i went into a job with it otherwise they would all be gone🥴 i have to practice a lot to keep them tbh
that is SO COOL though! i’m trying to learn arabic at the moment because my best friend is from palestine so she’s taught me the alphabet. it is such a beautiful language but has been the hardest for me to learn id say! and even understanding 4 is amazing! it’s such a life skill as well, so be proud of it!!
oh i love the crossover between languages. the whole linguistics side with the way ones coincide is so interesting to me. i’m the same with dutch and afrikaans hahah, i can understand some bits of afrikaans because i speak dutch! it’s such a fixation of mine learning them eek
in saying that, im the worst for never speaking in my first language online😭 i like only speak french (well québécois) irl but online you’d think my first language was english eek

Gran Turismo 7 accessibility review
Game title: Gran Turismo 7
Platform(s): Playstation 5, Playstation 4
Languages: Matches your Playstation console's default language setting. Czech, Danish, German, English (United Kingdom), English (United States), Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Spain), French (Canada), French (France), Indonesian, Italian, Hungarian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Russian, Romanian, Finnish, Swedish, Vietnamese, Turkish, Ukrainian, Arabic, Greek, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and simplified & traditional Chinese are available.
Age rating: ESRB E 10+, PEGI 3
Multiplayer: 2-player local split-screen multiplayer. Online multiplayer up to 20 players in a game lobby. Online profile photo, nickname, cover photo, about me, default greeting, post race greeting, and social links can all be set.
Genre/theme: Racing simulation, circuit races, rally races, championships, license trials, car collection, car customization, screenshot and photo editing.
Violence: None, aside from causing some occasional minor damage to other racers' cars.
Maturity: No sexuality, nudity, swearing, or drugs & alcohol references. A driving experience gamers of all ages will enjoy.
Difficulty modes: Setting a new standard for accessibility, several assists are on by default when starting a new game, and they remain on until you turn them off, making the game very approachable. After trying out various amounts and levels of assists, I found that most of the starting assists really did help my hands a lot. I eventually turned off the visual displays for the drive line and brake zones, but I kept corner markers displayed on-screen (I don’t have very good depth perception), auto-braking around turns (to save my left hand/arm the stress of constant braking), a little bit of ABS, and some traction control (to decrease the amount of counter-steering needed, especially on dirt tracks and rainy levels).
Even when the braking is set to automatic you can still mess up by going into a turn too fast and skidding off course or crashing, so letting off of the accelerator and doing some light manual braking will still be helpful, you won't literally fly off of the track going around a turn crazy fast like you would with the braking assist turned off. You can get a serious boost in speed if you turn off auto-braking and get good at braking manually in GT7, but I've found it to be much harder on the hands. Several of the assists can be turned way up or way down, or off entirely, giving you the freedom to choose every aspect of the game you'd like to fine-tune to your needs and preferences.
The difficulty mode is set to Normal by default but can be set to either Easy or Hard as well, race prize money is not affected by changing difficulty.
There are unlockable bonus races that aren't required for the main story completion that can range up to 5-chili pepper difficulty level; these almost always have increased tire wear and fuel usage, requiring pit stops during the race.
Complexity: As complex or as simple as you'd like it to be; Gran Turismo 7 can play very casually with several assists on, or it can be a hardcore realistic racing sim, and everything in between. Cars can be incredibly fine-tuned and customized or can be driven stock, but some upgrades will likely be needed for later races and championships, and upgrades generally make the game easier to control.
Instructions, saving, story recap, menus, & waypoints: There is a link to the online manual on the main menu screen. Controls and skills are learned and practiced by playing through the license trials. Menus are mostly pretty easy to navigate and find what you're looking for, but the text size is kinda small. In-game notifications are clear and reliable, creating a marker on which gaming mode area to select for your current goal.
There isn't much of a story beyond collecting cars and winning all the championships, as is true of the Gran Turismo series as a whole. The Cafe is your source of obtaining new goals and rewards, and also offers some brief history about the cars and manufacturers.
In-game notifications can be turned off. Autosaves often, after every race; I had the game crash a time or two and never lost any progress (in earlier builds, they release update patches often). Can turn opening movie and demo off to speed up load time.
Subtitles: Relies entirely on subtitles, the text is fairly small and appears at a medium pace.
Text customization: "Skip conversations using cancel" is the only dialogue option available. Unit of measurement can be switched between mph and kph.
Voice acting: None
Volume settings: Balanced BGM (background music) and sound effects mode, enhanced sound effects mode, race BGM focus mode, menu sound effects level, play race BGM, race BGM level, race sound effects level, replay BGM level, replay sound effects level, music replay volume balance, music replay master volume level, other BGM level, engine sound level, transmission sound level, tire squeals level, rivals engine sound level, broadcast mode, and audio output mode: 2 channel stereo or 7.1 channel surround are all customizeable. In-game notifications for the current song playing pop up in the upper right corner, and songs can be removed from the default playlist.
Photosensitivity: Exposure, color saturation, bright level, and dark level can all be adjusted.
There aren't many flashing lights in the race track environments (primarily on a couple of the road courses in Japan), the main flashing light issue is on the heads-up-display, as it flashes blue, white, and red while shifting gears (the entire heads-up-display can actually be turned off in the in-race settings menu though). Additionally, whichever setting you hover the cursor over in the Settings menu flashes between dark gray and white. Some cars emit a bit of an exhaust flash when shifting up a gear, this is more noticeable on night levels.
These can be remedied a bit by playing in a well-lit room and adjusting screen brightness (TV), backlight (TV), contrast (TV), and color settings (TV). Additionally, wearing blue light lens glasses, tinted lens glasses, or even sunglasses may be helpful.
Motion sickness: Driving in first-person perspective is really accurate with car interiors and is well done but may be too much too for gamers who struggle with fast images/high speeds, I personally found this to be a bit better in third-person camera mode. The camera can be changed with the press of a button, so you could even switch between camera modes several times in a race if different perspectives on certain turns or lighting areas are easier for you. There are four camera angles to choose from: third person (behind the vehicle and up about 25–30 degrees), first person, dash-cam, and front of the car. The sideposts and lamp posts blend together in a slightly disorienting way on particularly fast tracks/driving fast cars, but this can be remedied by placing your eyes’ focal point directly in front of the car.
Colorblindness settings: Color saturation can be customized, but no colorblind mode.
Controller rumble: Yes, vibration level can be customized or turned off entirely.
Remappable controls: 100%, every button can be remapped.
Quick-time events: None, aside from timed starts and early start penalties on some of the tougher races.
Physical impact: Low with assists on, moderate with all assists turned off. I haven't tried this game with a racing wheel or wheel + pedals setup. There are lengthy optional endurance races you can take on, which I found to be too fatiguing and painful, but completing these isn't necessary.
I played through the game on Playstation 4, but a friend of mine who played through it on Playstation 5 messaged me after reading this review to let me know that the Playstation 5 Dualsense controller caused him some additional pain and fatigue due to the controller's adjustable trigger tension level. Thankfully, the trigger tension can be turned down or off entirely to relieve this.
Adaptability and input: To play one-handed, a racing wheel + pedals setup will likely be needed. Can be played with Sony Playstation 5 Dualsense controller, Sony Playstation 4 Dualshock 4 controller, Fanatec GT DD Pro racing wheel, Fanatec CSL Elite racing wheel, Fanatec Podium racing wheel, Logitech G G29/G923 racing wheel, Logitech G PRO racing wheel, Thrustmaster T-GT racing wheel, Thrustmaster T-300RS racing wheel, Thrustmaster T-500RS racing wheel, Thrustmaster T150 Force Feedback racing wheel, and Thrustmaster T80 racing wheel.
Upgrades that can be purchased for each car include increasing the steering angle, installing a handbrake for easier drifting around turns, as well as nitrous boost.
Overall accessibility score: 4.5/5.0 (Please note that this score does not reflect the entertainment or enjoyment value of the game, it represents the range of accessibility for gamers who have specific limitations.)
With Gran Turismo 7, Sony and Polyphony have set a new standard for excellence in accessibility in racing games. A wide range of languages, complete control remappability, compatibility with several racing wheel setups, in-depth lighting, camera, and sound settings, along with all of the gameplay and visual assists you could ever want, all add up to an incredibly approachable driving experience. Some mild photosensitivity and motion-sickness, but these can be remedied by various means, and aren't anywhere near as intense as you'd expect from a driving game. The greatest accessibility omissions are the lack of voice acting and text customization settings. Who knows, with all of the updates being released for this game (and maybe a little encouragement from us) there's a chance text customization settings could be added one day!

Glad that I’m an Asian who has never gone out of Asia (or my own country for that matter) all my life so far so I could truly be spared weird ignorant opinions from the Western world about Asians or Asian countries, especially the Global South.
They sound like a HELL lot of headaches if I let them get to me srsly.
But this also explains my tendencies of refusing to be compared to Westerners. Even with my constant exposure to English speaking platforms because I’m fluent in the language, and that I’ve had international friends or acquaintances most of my online life, I basically know next to nothing about the way ignorant Westerners think. I simply don’t grasp the mindset. And I’m much happier for it!!
I can and will acknowledge all the bad things about living here without comparing them to the first world countries, because I actually know jack shit about the West. But why should I learn about the West also? Not interested in it and it doesn’t affect my life in any way whatsoever. Not saying that I’m 100% immune to the mindset that ‘the West is better than Asia’, but in the end I just know what matters to me the most. Coming from a family of ardent nationalists also help lol. My family has never been self hating Asians or Indonesians also (there are way too many of them unfortunately) so why should I be one?

Halo!! May I ask for a matchup? I’m autistic with a lot of other problems- and I’m sometimes very socially awkward, but I’m more “loud” online. I have a few special interests and a lot of hyperfixations. I'm a mixed race American Indonesian! I speak English and Indonesian, and I'm also currently trying to learn Korean! And my romantic orientation is Toric/Non-binary Loving Men!
My MBTI Type is INFJ/P and in general, I’m a quiet, creative, and caring person (and I get described as loyal too)! But I also sometimes push down my negative emotions and can be self deprivative, and I tend to have intrusive thoughts at times. I’d also describe myself as “too emotional” sometimes. I also am also the type of person to be straight to the point when describing things.
I have a few hobbies that I’ve stuck to throughout my whole life! Mainly art and writing, I’ve been doing that for a long time! Other more recent(ish) hobbies are plush making and tarot card reading! I’ve been wanting to learn an instrument but I usually drop it within a few weeks. Other than that, I don’t really have anything else to add. I hope that you have a good day! Drink water and have a good meal! :)
I match you with...
Jumin!
You're the kind of person who has a passion for creation. You love to make things with your hands and show off that work at the end of the day. These are the kind of things that make you who you are, a person who has a zest for life that wishes others could understand that there’s something special about the little things. You like to try new things, but it’s not always easy to get into them when you haven’t practiced. Skill is something that comes over time, but getting there is the tough part. You need someone in your life that understands how it is for you. With that in mind, Jumin seems like a good choice.
Jumin can tend to miss the point and assume the plain meaning without knowing that there may be something underneath. He’s honest in the way he handles a lot of things in his life, and that would be comfortable for you. You would never have to second guess yourself. He doesn’t play mind games. He tells you how it is from the very beginning, and when you want someone to be with, you want to know that they’ll understand you, and you’ll be able to understand them. That’s the foundation of security.
More than that, his love language is often tied into talking with each other. He loves to hear about the things you love! He could listen to you talk by the fire for hours if you could get away with it! He thinks it’s cute when you laugh, talking so fast and excitedly whenever you realize that he’s listening and he’s taking all of the information to heart. He never forgets when something means something to you.

Starting Bahasa Indonesia
I'm somewhere between B1-B2 in Japanese, having gotten there through deeply chaotic, unstructured means (immersion, reading, tutor led reading) over many years. But my grammar is just atrocious. I've got the chance to learn bahasa Indonesia, and want to see if I can structure this better, so I'll be writing about this here.
Resources I'm using:
The Indonesian Way: really solid online textbook system, webapp is a little clunky but the content is great
Polygloss: language app for practicing reading comprehension and writing using a short, fun, asynchronous communication game mechanic
Remote tutoring: to practice pronunciation and target language
Owl app: just to reinforce sentence structure for the first few weeks, I hate the owl
Anki decks built and deployed as needed

Q: Hank, you miss your easy wins against Babycuck, don't you?
A: Yes, also hard to stave off the Mega Man craving, since I can beat those with my eyes closed, too.
Still, if The Return of Babycuck or Babycuck Strikes Back or whatever ever does occur, I really should try to ignore them because without moving onto challenges, I'll stagnate. As conservatives, Babycuck and my dad could only ever stagnate me, and all personal growth comes from just moving in the opposite direction of their death star selves (which is where all joy, goodness, diversity, culture and creativity exists), or the growth that comes from working on the end of the death star.
Even without Babycuck around, my language-learning has already started up solidly again because they're just a drag on learning for the love of learning and don't care about things like Indonesian ("oh no the brown peoples!" worries Babycuck, "I must focus on the languages most interesting to Donald J. Twump like English and maybe Nazi Germany had a language)
So fucking stupid lol. You wish you could almost FexEx baby into Kenya -- special delivery from The Land of the Free -- so they could learn something useful like Swahili, but no, they'd be terrified to even go to so much as Mexico even though I know damn well that with no rent to ever pay due to overly benevolent parents, they have money to buy a Greyhound to Mexico tomorrow. It'd do them a lot of good compared to always focusing their energy on their quest for tumblr fame or whatever. Maybe they could find their new user name there. I used to go by Nezahalcoyotl online in my 20s as a username and it would piss dumb academics off or whatever.
I've been to Mexico three times, which isn't very many, but two of those stays were pretty long.
Anyhow, it's not quite the same winning victories against Babycuck without their babbling and raspberries straight out of the crib.
In some ways it's an even easier battle with them only able to read and not able to write (not that they were able to truly write to begin with) so it makes the addiction easier
But you know, them being able to babble some stupid shit back did throw in a little more challenge than their mouth having turned into Hello Kitty. All they've got left of the war they started is their eyes. You can't win a war with eyes, so I guess it's a bittersweet victory for me... final victory by default, whereas I would have preferred them to win by proving me a false Cassandra and apologising. That's part of the joke to me -- I knew I could literally hand them the key to an honesty-based win that would at least score them their first point, since they were always the liar and I was the honest one -- but I also knew they were cucked to the point where they'd be unable to.
Like Trump, they would have expected me to laugh instead of hit my knees and admit error like some zen master who's student shocked them, which I truly would have done. So predictable. Ralph Maccio had way more on that kid.
But yes, if only their eyes are left, I get to declare final victory, at least until they ressemble as -- god i wish so much they'd call their new page Babycuck, that would be so much more interesting and creative and memorable / lodge-in-the-brain than their last username was
if they called their new page babycuck and used that pufferfish image i found earlier, they'd be my hero
but they won't -- i guarantee that -- my Cassandra predictions of them work well, all too well.
the Eyes of Babycuck Mars, the vanquished wannabe god of war
yes, the Eyes of Babycuck Mars are all that's left also a great username idea i think Let Babycuck try to figure out what that's a reference to hint: a 70s horror film

The Role of ESG in the EdTech Industry
Edtech industry or Education Technology Industryplayers are gearing up to plan, report and monitor their ESG performance amidst an exponential rise in digitization. Notably, the prevalence of online learning against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic prompted industry leaders to achieve ESG goals. AI-based learning tools forayed into the mainstream education landscape, encouraging investors, venture capitalists and other stakeholders to prioritize ESG goals. Lately, education technology has witnessed skyrocketing demand across advanced and emerging economies. A host of global organizations expects their vendors to adopt ESG goals, while stakeholders are demanding that startups define and focus on ESG strategy.
Investors are bullish on the prospect of edtech providing an immersive learning experience to K-12 students (kindergarten to 12th grade). High-profile and emerging players continue investing in tech and tools that boost online and digital learning. A slew of private equity funds has ESG-themed funds, alluding to stakeholders growing interest in society and the environment. For instance, in March 2022, Cakap, an Indonesian online language learning platform, secured fresh funding from IIF (Indonesia Impact Fund). The infusion of funds is reported to be the first ESG-compliant private impact fund under the aegis of Mandiri Capital Indonesia. Buoyant investments will propel access to high-quality education, especially in lower-tier cities, and play a pivotal role in bridging the language proficiency gap.
Environmental Perspective
Edtech companies are responding to climate change to invest in an environmentally sustainable future. Digital learning companies have furthered their efforts to propel UN Sustainable Development Goals and take a giant stride toward decarbonization. Stakeholders are expected to be on the same page on global net zero emissions and use technology and operations to foster the change the world needs. Microsoft aims to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 emissions to near zero by 2025 and is contemplating removing more carbon than it emits by 2030. Moreover, in July 2021, it also rolled out the Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability to render automated, integrated and comprehensive sustainability management.
Stakeholders are likely to take a robust approach to reporting and recording emissions with automation and data collation. Industry players could use a secure cloud to tackle e-waste across schools with startups investing in the advanced technology. In December 2020, Karo Sambhav used Microsoft Azure, engaged with over 22,700 schools, and collated around 12,000 metric tons of e-waste for responsible recycling in India. Furthermore, Microsoft also emphasized bridging the skill gap in data center communities through investment in technical training programs at vocational schools, community colleges and other educational institutions.
Social Perspective
Edtech companies are promoting the values of gender equality, inclusion and a safe work environment. Companies are likely to complement UN Sustainable Development Goals with an emphasis on quality education and boosting workers’ health and safety. Several edtech companies have sought state-of-the-art technology to bolster inclusion, diversity and access. For instance, in September 2021, SP2 Mentor Collective suggested that it connects students, targeting first-generation learners, including those of color, students from low-income backgrounds and other underrepresented students.
Stakeholders have added fillip to their ESG goals by investing in new-age skills and focusing on talent mobility. Companies are gearing up to upskill talent pools to keep up with global digital transformation. Cisco is expediting the way it develops, attracts and promotes diverse talent. It has joined forces with OneTen Initiative, that is gearing to hire, upskill, and promote one million African American/Black (AA/B) Americans over the next ten years. It witnessed a 60% surge in the representation of all employees who identified themselves as AA/B from entry level through the manager.
State-of-the-art technologies, including ML and AI, have witnessed an uptake. To illustrate, as of June 2022, Coursera reported around a 50% surge in the number of business learners in India. The trends have prompted technology-oriented startups to inject funds into advanced solutions and services to help bolster the digital skills of their employees. In August 2021, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) announced an infusion of funds into ApplyBoard through Equity 253 fund—a diversity-dedicated fund—aimed at companies leveraging diversity and inclusion initiatives and promoting them as business priorities.
Is your business one of participants of the Global EdTech Industry? Contact us for focused consultation around ESG Investing, and help you build sustainable business practices.
Governance Perspective
As sustainability becomes mainstream, governance and accountability have become instrumental for prioritization and alignment across the industry. Microsoft has formed a Climate Council with business leaders from every business group to foster alignment, offer sustainability advice, review progress on commitment, prioritize resources and funding and collaborate. Its Board of Directors offers feedback, insights, and oversight across environmental and social aspects.
With companies targeting pre-K to 12, post-secondary and workforce education portfolios, stakeholders have prioritized governance structure to foster their ESG profile. For instance, Cisco asserted in its Purpose Report that audits covered 390,000 supply chain workers during fiscal 2022. Cisco’s compliance and ethics organization reports all allegations and cases of ethical violations to the Audit Committee of the BoD and the Compliance Steering Committee.
Poor ESG practices may be detrimental to environmental, reputational and legal risks that can dent an organization’s prospect on the bottom line. Companies with strong ESG performance could stay ahead of the curve with a lower cost of capital, a loyal investor base and better access to financing. According to the U.S. financial services company Morningstar, ESG investment strategies surpassed USD 1 trillion in 2020, largely fueled by sustainable investment funds amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
In December 2022, Skillsoft’s corporate social responsibility report found that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), participation in fair trade, and enhancing labor policies were top priorities in the CSR program. The research noted that 46% said ESG efforts were replacing CSR efforts. Prevailing trends suggest the global edtech market could register a 16.5% CAGR from 2022 through 2030. The growth trajectory is expected to gain ground as companies focus on creating long-term value by creating ESG strategies.
