allison IS a relatively known figure in certain circles. the argent name is a known name and, though much of its history is tainted, it still holds its weight when convenient and necessary. this is even more true as allison grows into her role as the sort of monarch of the name and paves a way for a better reputation.

My f!Aragorn/f!Faramir AU is fun (for me) because it's actually an "every Númenórean throwback in LOTR, determined according to me, is genderbent."
So there's f!Aragorn, Aranor, whose existence breaks the father-to-son chain of heirs of Isildur carried on for thousands of years, but who manages to hang onto the heirship by fiat of Elrond and her own resolute will and immense abilities. She proceeds to fight canon Aragorn's uphill battle, but it's harder at virtually every turn. She passes herself off as a man as "Thorongil" but her gender and identity are recognized by—
—Andreth, the Steward's daughter/f!Denethor. Her only brother died young, while her older sisters are both childless and unwilling to return to Minas Tirith. Andreth, trained in both lore and, unusually, war, has recently waged a bitter if victorious political fight to be acknowledged as Ecthelion's heir, rather than at best a potential regent for her son Boromir. She knows all about fighting uphill battles. Despite her intense dislike of Aranor, Andreth's fight for the Stewardship plays a major part in paving the way for Aranor's eventual ascension as Gondor's first ruling queen.
In all of this, Andreth was backed by her ailing husband, Gwindor of Dol Amroth (m!Finduilas), and his powerful family. This included his gay older brother Túrin (m!Ivriniel) and his younger sister Imraphel (f!Imrahil). Imraphel in particular respected Andreth without feeling the need to like her, all the more after her own fight to get taken seriously as a (hulking) lady knight in Dol Amroth. Imprahel has unhesitatingly presented herself as another Haleth, replicating popular Gondorian imagery of Haleth and proving herself a fierce and dauntless warrior and captain.
Speaking of Haleth, Aranor doesn't have a picked bodyguard of women as Haleth herself did—I don't assume all the northern Dúnedain are throwbacks in the Aragorn-Denethor-Imrahil sense—but she does have a beloved cousin named Haleth (f!Halbarad), whom she trusts implicitly. This Haleth has been attached to Aranor from early in Aranor's active chieftainship, and faithfully joins her with some 30 other Dúnedain, but dies heroically on the Pelennor :(
One major figure is completely absent on the Pelennor, though, both in the lead-up to the major battle, and the battle itself. Míriel, daughter of Andreth, and now her only surviving child, has never had the slightest inclination towards war, though she understands its necessity. She has the iron will of her mother and aunt, along with a distinct strain of her father's gentleness, and like all of them, she can convince men and beasts alike to follow her commands. But she follows Andreth's lead as loremaster rather than warrior, making for a stern, commanding, yet personable Númenórean lady when called upon to convey her mother's will.
Andreth evacuates Míriel with the other women of Minas Tirith, placing her in charge of all the evacuees and warning her of the terrible duty that will fall to her should the battle go ill. They've often been at odds, but not this time; Míriel promises to protect their people as far as her abilities extend if the Stewardship should fall to her.
As it happens, Míriel does receive the news after the battle that her mother, after many years away from warfare, rode out to hold the city's troops together against the Nazgûl long enough for them to retreat into the city. The maneuver succeeded in inflicting heavy casualties, but Andreth died of her wounds not long thereafter. Míriel is now the ruling Lady of Gondor—but not for long. The heir of Isildur has come to claim the throne.

@gertrudehatake replied to a post:
(I know it's two years later but) What kakashi was "doing" to be sorry about?
totally fine to ask a question two years later! honestly, i really don't feel like that comic did a good job of explaining itself, and i don't mind explaining for it, in its absence.
this is gonna be a bit of a long response because that comic was supposed to have a lot going on...but in practice...it doesn't hold up.
Basically, they're having a conversation beneath the words they're actually saying, as they do frequently when I write them. The "underneath" conversation they're having is as follows (TW for discussion of Kakashi's self destructive/suicidal tendencies):
Tumblr media
TENZŌ: You're not protecting yourself in battle. You're letting yourself get hurt. I'm beginning to be afraid that you want to let yourself get hurt—maybe that you want to kill yourself.
Tumblr media
KAKASHI, who doesn't want to talk about being suicidal: Maybe I don't. Maybe, I just trust you so much that I don't have to be as careful in the field. TENZŌ:
Tumblr media
TENZŌ: That was a fucked up way to evade the question. TENZŌ: Even if that was true, which it's not, that was an extremely fucked up thing to say to me. And for what? The crime of being worried for you? KAKASHI: You're right. sorry. sorry.
it's messed up because Tenzō is confronting Kakashi about his very real self destructive patterns, and Kakashi, instead of being honest and acknowledging them, or even being honest and saying "I really don't want to talk about this" tries to sidestep the conversation with an alternate, explanation, that he's just so comfortable working in this team that he's not afraid for his life. Which is bullshit. He's not taking this seriously, he's dodging. Maybe, he was even thinking he could avoid it while complimenting Tenzō, talk about how much they trust each other and how much he values that bond, instead of talking about how little he values himself.
The problem is, the way it comes off, especially to tenzō who, unlike kakashi, is worried for Kakashi's safety and life, is that it sounds like Kakashi's saying "I only act like this because you're here" which is both untrue and something that is really upsetting to hear.
kakashi, who obvs knows what it is to blame himself for the death of a friend, is immediately incredibly sorry for having said that, once its made clear to him how that sounds. Its not an incident he's going to ever repeat
like i said...the comic doesn't do a good job of explaining itself. It kind of needs me to stand beside it, explaining for it. I think that now, with the skills I've gained in the past two years, I could remake it better...but I also don't think I would?
This particular angle of their relationship...I don't think I see it in the exact same way that I did back then. If I were to make a comic abt this topic again, I don't think I'd make it in the same way at all
anyway, I hope this was useful, or at least interesting to you!
#yamswers#this is honestly maybe one of the darkest comics ive got on this blog#suicide mention cw#suicidal ideation cw#i have so many criticisms of that comic but the core emotional center of it still interests me#it was so long ago#most of my criticisms about the comic are that like. i dont feel like i conveyed tenzō's reaction to it very well#i remember showing this one to kate and saying ''ough. this one is spikey. this one is spikey. it needs gloves to be handled.''#but ultimately...the comic doesn't feel like it needs gloves to be handled. its lukewarm#the conversation theyre having beneath the dialogue is utterly lost in the toneless trudging of the comic#anyway yadda yadda yadda#yadda yadda yadda#i really think they both had a horrible time in anbu like absolutely dogshit time.#and kakashis nice and tenzō DOES love and respect him a whole lot. canonically#but i also dont think its a coincidence that Yamato's Modus Operandi is so different from Kakashi's#I think the fact that Kakashi was so reckless in anbu (and lets be real. even as a jōnin) is because he protects people by throwing himself#in harms way for them#yamato telling naruto and sakura that he Does not and WILL NOT do that. and trying instead to protect them by preparing them for#any possible following scenario...is. i feel. a direct response to the leadership he recieved in anbu#anyway. im glad that kakashi got pulled from anbu and that they had that good 6 year period between kakashis dismissal#and yamatos appointment to team 7 where it seems like they both kind of went their seperate ways for a bit#kakashi at least seems like he did a lot of healing during that time#also ghhsdghsdhg nobody take me criticizing my own work as being ''mean'' to myself i promise im not#i know what makes a good comic and i know i missed the beat on this one#and thats not just okay. its good...failure is what u learn the most from + i cant do that if i dont acknowledge where i fail#maito gai rules yfm?

Impacting Lives for Christ: Serving for His Glory and the Edification of Others
Christian service and ministry should glorify God and edify others. Glorifying God means our words and actions reflect positively on Him (1 Cor 10:31). Edifying others means we help and encourage them in their growth and development as Christian disciples (1 Th 5:11). Because we cannot live what we do not know, it’s imperative that we study the Bible for ourselves (2 Tim 2:15), and also benefit…

i find myself wondering what billie in power would look like, with no real sense of the motivations that drive her down different streets. her journal does imply she wanted exactly what he had and more in that her name would be splashed over wanted posters like the blood of her victims over floorboards or w/e but then again she IS best at being a ghost she learned that before daud. and shes likely to hold disdain for some of his methods bc as much as she'd consider being overthrown a natural part of the process subconsciously she'd refuse to fuck w someone that way she is not going to care for a kid its the good old mutiny for HER leadership. i think she'd pick middle ground in rumor as in nothing else and aim to be a legend whispered about. which is just reinforcing my billie as god of the void convictions bc what better way to end a story abt a woman who only ever lingered long enough to leave her own name behind

Prompt #913
System A stopped. They didn't freeze, they didn't pause, they didn't jolt before standing still. They just... stopped. Stopped and turned towards the being that had thrown the taunt as their back was turned.
Person B held their breath.
"What have I done as ruler?" System A repeated, tone clear cut and genuine. They seemed to ponder the question for a minute, tapping their chin, before they gave a smile that had Person B shivering (not in fear of them; never would they fear a hand raised against them by System A, but...). "Why don't we make a list?"
Oh, Person C was never going to recover from this.

Life Lessons with Gojo-sensei
Tumblr media
To say that Gojo Satoru is sort of a big deal in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen is putting it lightly. He’s established from the jump as the shounen series’s strongest character, and it’s hard to overstate the huge difference in power between Gojo and even the next-most powerful characters. But even so, we meet Gojo while he’s living out a much different vocation: that of a high school teacher.
Gojo is introduced in the first season not merely as a strong sorcerer but as a protective caretaker figure to the series’s teenage protagonists. We see this most clearly through his relationships with two of his students: Okkotsu Yuuta, who begins his story as a nervous wreck with an overwhelming power that he can’t control; and Itadori Yuuji, a happy-go-lucky teenager who stumbles upon his sorcery abilities entirely by accident. The sorcery world is deeply corrupt and places very little value on human life, but Gojo is determined to change this. And he recognizes that to succeed, he will need strong allies like Yuuji and Yuuta to help him. But Gojo isn’t only a capable and beloved sensei whose care for his students is deeply countercultural—he’s also a surprisingly good model of biblical leadership.
